Are you calling me inhuman? I have run a few different cowboys for five gens and managed to avoid getting shot. It's a visible anticipation and it's also predictable in hallway environments.

Any human with fully functioning eyes and every day motor skills can do it. Quick scoping still had several frames of animation before the shot goes off, so I doubt that testing you're describing was proper.

I am not calling you inhuman but what "you" did there was based on him missing..

First of all, the scoping animation means nothing. He can simply fake his ability. You never know when he is shooting until he is actually shooting. There is no indicator of knowing if he is actually pressing the trigger.

Second, the protectile speed is 40 meters per second. A human needs about 200-300 milliseconds alone just to react and press a button. To that 300 milliseconds, you have to coordinate your character model to the side, which takes, even if you are very quick with your mouse, at least 300 milliseconds, but this might depend on your DPI. And now, combine those factors with the delays on our servers, where you even get hit after you have vaulted a window already half a second ago.

Even a close to max range shot is not so easy to dodge (no problem with Deadhard, because its just pressing the button) but you will most likely find yourself in a scenario, where he is less then 20 meters away simple due to his terror radius and map design.. You have half a second to physically move out of the way of the projectile which is impossible because of all the factors i have already named.

Deathslinger was completely fine before these changes. His ADS was predictable and reactive-able. Seems to me, the basis for these changes is coming from some inexperienced players that complained loudly enough to merit the change. His new changes are clearly underpowered compared to huntress and trickster.

    Rip

It was tested, that his quick scoping is not reactive-able. At least not by a human. Especially not in DbD with these servers. Even if you would be inhuman quick, there is no way the game would allow you to doge the shot.

    dude

he just doesn't have anything on huntress anymore, probably not even trickster

it's arguable he even had much on (her) before at all

why are you talking about how 'he's so oppressive in a chase' in the face of all of this, are you real

can you in fact confirm the presence of your cognition hello yes hi, we're talking about.. shoot, ssssslllllooowwwwwllllyyyyyyy reel in if don't miss/get screwed by environment (which includes other survivors) --> send them speeding off away as you reload with a massive slowdown --> shift w gamers --> shift w gamers --> shift w gamers --> shift w gamers --> shoot, sll-- nope dead hard --> reload with a massive slowdown --> shift w gamers --> shift w gamers --> shoot, ssssssllllloowwwwwwwlllllyyyyyy reel in if don't miss/get screwed by environment (which includes other survivors) --> get a down and a sense of pride and accomplishment as your massive slowdown reload finally doesn't matter for now this, we're talking about this guy correct? and not nurse or blight who will just clap you in ~20 seconds if decent, the former ignoring just about everything you can do except move weirdly/move weirdly out of los/dead hard

Where did i say any of this? And what has this to do with Huntress or Trickster?

I am not starting another conversation about how Deathslinger is/was in a chase, we milked this topic way too much. But it is obvious that the devs decided to remove his quickscope and therefore his faking ability - for an obvious reason.

If you dont mind, tell us how you would have changed Deathslinger so he is actually fun for both sides,- or at least for the majority of players?

  • Realisticly, what are they supposed to do with him?

The only thing they could change is his movement speed but that would make him even more oppressive in a chase as he already is.

Deathslinger is a missconcepted killer, both on paper and in practice. No matter what they do, he will always be hated (or he would becomes irrelevant at all)

  • I like to see a 2nd object, but how to ballance it? What downside should the killer have?

  • my-image(24).png

Body is 1 character too short.

I feel like while the slowdown is definetly S tier, people will usually solve the box before you can do much

Yet, there is most of the time a person who is forced to leave productive gameplay simple to move around and get the box done. It is particulary good when playing against solos.

  • I think Pinhead has the best slowdown in the game. So for me Pinhead is 3. S

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Well i mean they looked at them and decided they were fine i guess.

Another "great" ballance joice by the Devs :(

  • I often play in a group with less experienced people simple because (apprat from that i like these people) I love to see a Myers or even a Pig here and there.

  • By taking a deep look in their eyes?๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

I dont know, check their profiles and if they have many "-rep toxic survivor" you can assume this person does not play very nice.

    Hag ? Lmao....Ok, sure.

It's Nurse, Spirit, Blight, Huntress, Billy

Hag is for sure better then Billy or Huntress at least on comp level. But placing Huntress as #5 is not a bad pick.

  • Its a beginners guide. Judging them over something like this is really unneccessary.

  • At least they could change the size and add some stairways. But to be frank, this wont make this map decent by any means, RCPD simply does not work on a fundamental level.

  • @KateDunson said:

And was better than the one we have now

You think? I prefere the new one but the old was great too.

  • @NuKeD said:

i'm really angry and frustrated rn.

how much ridiculous can this game be? it's so damned unbalanced and survivor sided and since you released this new MMR system, it's even worse.

i keep meeting TRYHARD SWFs all the time. gens pop in a blink and even if a chase lasts 20 secs, 2 gens already pop, even with slowdown perks.

playing killer has become for me really frustrating and sweaty to play, i can't literally have fun on it, i played like 20 matches in 3 days and i only got more frustrated than i already was, no 4k anymore

just tryhards with decisive, BT, unbreakable, DH and click click spamming.

funny thing is, when i play survivor, i meet people hiding behind trees, dying fast or literally doing nothing.

this game has become terrible, i might considering taking a break from killer or the game itself.

i used to enjoy killer, as a killer main, but i just feel angrier, frustrated and more stressed when i playing it, everybody tryhards and i start tilting when 3 gens pop out of nowhere.

PLS DEVS, DO SOMETHING FOR THIS GAME, OTHERWISE PEOPLE WILL STOP PLAYING KILLER AND THE GAME WILL BE DEAD VERY SOON.

    TLDR:

If the op plays killer he gets rolled by survivors all the time because they are so op.

If he plays survivor, the survivors get rolled all the time because they are trash.

I am not saying that this SBMM is good or the game is perfectly ballanced, but if you get rolled on both sides, it might not only be the games fault you are loosing all the time.

  • I have very mixed feelings about boon totems, but what they have done with the killers is simply great.

Spirit nerf was definitly needed, no doubt about that. The lack of counterplay made her complelty unpredictable as survivor and more off a guessing game then anything else while Spirit had full control of every chase.

Deathslinger is considered to be the most annoying killer to be out there and his power makes survivors be in a loose loose situation all the time. Quickscoping and especially faking his quickscoping made it much to oppressive in a chase. A good change, but i wish they would have gave him something in return. Nothing big, but something.

Trapper buff is great, he is weak and with this changes, he is definitly stronger and especially more reliable now. Also the annoying RNG factor is gone. Cant wait to play him.

Plague was never a bottom tier killer, she is somewhere in the middle, and this buff makes her not op but much stronger in the 1on1 scenarios especially.

All in all, great mid chapter. Hope they come up with more stuff like this.

  • Twins and Deathslinger.

  • I did not read it but only the last line..

"In generall the whole MMR system is dumb.."

    so i agree with you.

It's impossible to balance an assymetrical game based on 50% escape ratio if you factor in more stuff than escapes. If you want to take more stuff into account we can go back to the old pip system wich i prefer 10 times.

I would also rather use the pip system but with open end elo and not just ranks.

The reason is that people don't know how to play on it and refuse to learn. That's all. Every new killer, map, offering, perk, and so on, gets hated on for that exact reason.

Fair point - then it should not be bannable the first 2 weeks (like it is in other games).

If it is still (or even more) hated after 2 weeks (hello RCPD), then there might be a very good reason which has nothing to do with "refuse to learn".

  • @gilgamer said:

The problem with that is that you could feasibly ban up to 8 realms which are over half the realms in the game and depending on which realms get banned that's up to almost 80% or more of the maps in the game. Im fine with an offering that would disable a map or realm or make it so you can only ban specific maps.

8 maps are 20% and not half of the realms.

When i say 1 realm, i mean 1 specific map. So its not "Coldwind Farm banned" its "Thompson House banned"

  • @ThiccBudhha said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2553937#Comment_2553937

Hopefully the developers care to ignore childish pleas from people who get outraged by a map. But then again, we aren't getting Hawkins reskinned, so, I wouldn't bet on it. We might totally get tons of maps removed in the future. Why not?

Childish? Disliking something is childish now? Especially disliking something we have payed for? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

And this is said by someone with 2500 posts and not silent with his complains.

  • I used to hate him, but since the rework, i dislike him a little less. But you are not wrong with what you say, many loose loose situations.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2553915#Comment_2553915

I like RCPD. Not playing it is not fun for me, and constantly having to use an offering to (maybe) be able to play it isn't fun either. Now what?

If a map is so hated that it gets banned all the time, there might be a reason why this is and we should be happy we actually have a way to get rid of it. Who cares if one person misses it if everybody else is happy?

  • @Bran said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2553880#Comment_2553880

Because I'm not going through 40 different maps and variants just to pick 1 or 4.

Even now the chances of getting a map would be 1/40 so the only difference is now you can't get that map. Henceforth unnecessary.

Its a inconvenience because it just adds something that doesn't need to happen and serves really no purpose as it's a low chance anyway.

    Not sure what you mean.

For example i hate RCPD. Whats so bad about it, if i get the option to simply ban it? Because its 1/40? 1/40 is already to much. Its a game, it should be fun

  • @Bran said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2553867#Comment_2553867

40 maps? When it's said ban a realm, I'm assuming that means all variants of said realm.

That would just be an inconvenience for everyone playing and is very unnecessary.

Why would this be an inconvenience?

  • @Bran said:

Kinda ruins the experience doesn't it. I mean I'm all for not going to maps I don't like, but that would get pretty old really quickly only going to the same map(s) every single time

As survivor, you would get rid of 1 map out of almost 40 and as killer 4 out of 40. That is not exactly "always the same maps over and over".

  • @Orion said:

Definitely not. I enjoy playing on all the realms, even the ones that frustrate me (Coldwind Farm).

People who don't want to play in a series of maps can just go to KYF and exclude maps there. There are Discord servers for finding random people, too.

Not everyone wants to play in a SWF with voice. Especially not if you wont gain any bloodpoints.

  • @ReikoMori said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/286412/banning-realms

These bans would basically put every game on coal tower and if I wanted that I'd just go play fighting games where you only get to play one or two stages cause every other one introduces too much lag. It would be better if maps were just made more thoughtfully, I would pay money for one good medium sized map with decent lighting, minimal special effects, and balanced tile and pallet budget.

4 realms, with that i mean 4 specific realms, not the whole set. 8 out of ~40 maps is not "Every match will be coal tower".

On top of that, everybody has his personal preference. I personally would just ban an indoor map like RCPD and 4 indoor maps as killer. Other people would rather go for something like Haddonfield.

  • @bjorksnas said:

As killer I would just ban the 4 strongest survivor realms and as survivor I would just ban the strongest killer realms,

that doesn't sound fun for either side not seeing specific realms unless you bring an offering to go there

rather keep the current system of no system

Banning the 4 most op maps for the each side is not a good thing? The game would actually get closer to a ballanced experience. How is this not great?

And if you dont care about overpowered maps, then dont use your ban. Or simply get rid of a map that is fair but you dont want to play that round because you had it 3 times in a row already...

  • @ElusivePukka said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2553778#Comment_2553778

And I'm saying "nifty concept, I'd prefer an offering"

Merely banning a realm from the roster might work, but I think free banning would encourage people to pick 'bully maps' even more than they already do. Offerings would make those picks at least a consumable resource

Banning 4 maps =/= picking a bully map.

And dont forget, the killer can "elimnate" those bully maps by himself.

  • @ElusivePukka said:

Just give us a specific anti-offering rather than a general one

Not talking about an offering, just straight up banning realms from the roster so we can completly avoid a very disliked map. For me RCPD and Haddonfield come to mind.

Can a discussion not be formed on these forums without arguments etc. The post was a discussion post not a debate post or anything. Can people not discuss things on forums without a backlog of trash talk.

Which argument? That survivors are complaining all the time? So are killlers, just look around. The argument that someone is complaining about something while you complain about him complaining?

I gave you something for discussion in a previous post, but apparently you dont want to do that.

Myers is one of the weakest killers in the game, but he is considered to be a decently fun killer for the majority of the playerbase (both killer and survivor). The Thombstone however reduces the gameplay by quite a bit. It takes long to get the stalk and the reward is an instakill. Not fun for Myers (at least not for me), not fun for survivors. Little interaction is the last we need in this game.

So to back up the crying, obvious survivor main you make fun off, Thombstone is an addon which does not contribute a lot to the game rather reducing the most fun aspect. Is Myers op because of that? Definitly not. Is he less fun to play as and against? From an objective point of few no doubt about that.

I copy/pasted it for you, if you are really up for discussing this topic, dont be shy and tell us your opinion:

  • @StarLost said:

You know, the ones that not many people play - but can be surprisingly effective.

    I'd say:

    • Doctor. Wow, do I love this guy. He has a sonar ping that can get survivors off gens, the ability to disable pallet drops and vaults (that works maybe half the time even on a 50ms latency, but that's another story) and some genuinely nutty addons. Insanely oppressive in indoor, 'stacked' maps. Also somehow a BP generating machine.
    • Hag. She's by far my favorite killer. Small, little terror radius, can absolutely lock down areas and has tons of little tricks and techs. If you can get a 3 or 4 gen, she can be unstoppable. Plus, she's a living jumpscare, which makes me happy.

Hag is not underrated at all. She is considered a top 4 killer and even on competetive level effective.

  • This post didnt age very well.

  • @douggie123 said:

There is a guy obviously survivor player who has mentioned about when are they going to nerf myees tombstone and make it similar to the mori.

The pointlessness of your post has already been called out quite a few times now, so how about we discuss the actual topic of the crying survivor main?

  • Fortunatly, there is no "Eierlegende Wollmilchsau" in DBD. Try builds like Corrupt, Pop, Ruin and Tinkerer. Wont get much better then that.

  • Can be useful with addons and creats the imaginative threat of key escapes.

Its also a good way for getting tunneled.

  • Yep, cheaters on almost daily base. BHVR must react to that asap, otherwise this will have big consiquences for Dead by Daylight and games like VHS will benefit from that a lot.

  • Nemesis is B in my opinion.

Hag is for sure better then Huntress and Pylon Head.

Oni is (much) better then Doctor

  • @DBD78 said:

Ok fair enough but if the system is going to be based on escapes only, my system is better then what we have now..I think ๐Ÿ˜€

That is true, your system is better, but lets be honest here... thats not a very difficult task ๐Ÿ˜…

  • No.

Escapes should influence the MMR but it should not be the only relevant factor. Chase, dealing with the given resources, genspeed and even things like items or addons have to put heavily into consideration.

  • 18.000 downs in 41 days? 440 downs per day? If my math is not off thats pretty crazy.

Assume you 4K every round and get max hooks every round (12) you have to play on average 37 games per day only with Demogorgon. Even if you slug a lot, this would still be an insane number. I dont think i ever played 37 games on a single day and i considere myself addicted ^^

  • Scott did an interesting video about that topic too, have not fully watched it but so far his point does make sense imho.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qs5s3M-6Q2U&t=

  • Like i said, I agree that pips are not a good way to measure skill and they have to add some sort of ladder system to that, but measuring on escapes alone? Many games i escape i play poorly and many games i die i played great.

  • Playing both sides is good, but there are still big differences within the sides. Playing in a SWF is not nearly the same as playing Solo. Same Playing M2 killer is a completly different story then playing M1 killer.

  • Bond coud be a good addition in such a build so you dont interrupt your teammates doing gens.

  • Noed should be either complelty reworked or nerfed. The idea of buffing noed is as absurd as it would be to buff SWF or Nurse.

  • Borrowed Time or Spine Chill.

Borrowed for obvious reasons and Spine Chill because 100 reasons but i am too lazy to name all of them. I leave you with one tho. It is a great looping tool if you are able to read the perk.
