Spirit is better, because she got way less bugs and is 100 times easier to master. Easy like that. Coming from a 1.5k hours nurse main.

Difficulty of use is not a valid talking point. In any game, the best players master a character and the execution becomes whatever. I can also tell you as someone who has relatively low execution that Nurse is really more about knowledge and predictions than mechanical skill. In fact, I think Huntress is harder in terms of skill.

  • @CLAUDETTEINABUSH said:

Although it's a rare opinion, please hear me out on this. People believe that spirit is unbalanced and I have some arguments for what they're offering. Let's see my side of perspective as a hybrid player:

    1. 50/50 mindgames. Basically when she sits still and you don't know if she's phasing or not. I've managed to counter that by simply one perk: spine chill. You know when she'll start phasing because your spine chill will go off, meaning she doesn't know your exact position but knows that you are in a certain radius. Game knowledge helps with this too, alongside the spirit's gameplay. If I know that when she stands still she's phasing then I know that she doesn't mindgame and vise versa.

    2. Unable to see where she's coming from because she's invisible. That's the point. Her whole purpose as a character is being invisible, this shouldn't be changed at all!

    3. If you have good headphones and stridor you basically win. That's entirely incorrect. When I play spirit I can't use stridor. It confuses the ######### out of me when someone doesn't have iron will. Besides, learning the exact distance is really tough.

    4. Spirit can't be looped like any other killer which breaks the game. You mean like nurse? Nurse also can't be looped normally and the only way to counter her are jukes and breaking line of sight, just like how spirit is countered.

So what do you guys think about the spirit? Let me know down below.

I agree with you. Unfortunately, most players (including a few prominent streamers) think it is ok for survivors to be able to run loops that the killer can do nothing about. Spirit is true 50/50s, which is fairly common in most video games. Survivors don't like it when a killer can actually make them guess because the same old loops don't work the same way.

  • @Quol said:

I think she is good but no where near the top rank anymore. I rarely see Nurse these days but from the ones I do see they aren't anymore overbearing than Spirit, Freddy, Billy, ect. In fact post nerf I have faced off against more Spirits that deal with chases better than Nurse.

Maybe it's that I don't see many Nurse's so the chance of seeing an OP Spirit ect are higher since the chances of seeing a Spirit in general is higher and since I base my killer tiers off of experience not theory I cannot place Nurse as top rank anymore even if there is a 10k hour Nurse that can 360 no scope me across the map lurking somewhere.

Spirit is definitely easier than Nurse, so yes, she is much more common. I play a lot of survivor too, and I have had MAYBE 3 good Nurses in the two years I have been playing.

  • @Stitch7833 said:

i mean your main should always be your best killer, plus you have to put insane hours into nurse to be at the level required, unlike any new chapter you can just pick up with and do nearly as good. also platform matters, on PC nurse may be good but on console well i havent seen a nurse in months and last one i had seen got 2 hooks so i personally dont think shes the strongest anymore

She is still the best on console. Before I switched to PC, I got rank 1 with her without fail, and this was before the optimization and sensitivity changes.

You realize you just contradicted yourself?

You said that its way easier for survivors to get an escape using the key when keys are 2000% more rare than a mori, that keys are better than moris but at the same time only one survivor brings a jey IF anyone brings one cuz they are rare while every single killer i face has a mori every single time (unless they dont want to use one, maybe because they already have 1 op red add on).

Seriously... survivors have so goddamn much crap in the bloodweb.

I have like 10 keys on my P3 survivor while i play 95% of thetime survivor. Yet as some killer i use once in a while i have a collection of red and yellow add ons and moris, enough for at least 50 games, ALL incredibly useful.

I have add ons i constantly use on all killers which last time i leveled up was 2 years ago.

I stopped leveling them up cuz i simply dont need to.

Meanwhile my p3 survivor after more than 150 levels of bloodweb still needs basic lvl3 add ons, purple medkits and flashlight, red keys and decent toolboxes (where the ######### are purple toolboxes??).

The worst part is that with killers its 100 times easier to make bloodpoints fast and without much trouble. If you need bloodpoints just hop on killer side and relax for the free 20k points.

I don't even get the complaining. Its aleays about those 4K's...you didn't get one cuz 1 survivor brought a key bo fkn woooo. Imagine how many survivors lost their nuch much much more precious blue flashlights and keys because the killer KNEW they had one so they tunneled on purpose and killed with a mori in 1 hook (mori means you get to kill any survivor in 1 hook and 1 chase, cuz the second they go down the hook you losers will tunnel and get the free mori in 10seconds top).

All of this is irrelevant because BASE survivor strong. A competent survivor can waste a solid two minutes of a normal killer’s time by knowing tiles and staying safe. This is why there are only a few killers who can even try to compete. And not to be a **** but if you only play one side, you really shouldn’t be posting opinions. You don’t know how the whole game works.

  • @LALYTHIA said:

Imagine survivors having one, unnerfed iridescent left in the game and Killer's cannot handle it, despite it being extremely infrequent in comparison to the number of times you see their multiple iridescents used in matches. 🙄

Also, you saw that person come into the game with a key. An advantage only the killer has. You could have come better prepared to deal with it.

There is no way to “deal” with a key. Franklin’s demise would require 10 hits to destroy the key, which is unrealistic. The only solution is to tunnel the hell out of the survivor carrying it and hope that he is using the addon to keep it on death.

  • @LALYTHIA said:

    From the Dev stream:

"The performance of SWF groups isn't that much higher than solo survivors when looking at stats, despite how it may feel."

    So yeah, you're right.

The stats are misleading. It is true that the majority of survivors teams are chill/not good at the game- this inflates the kill statistics. The SWAT SWF team totally breaks the balance of the game, which the devs would see if they looked at more than statistics.

  • @SaltyBigBoi said:

Honestly Deathslinger is just the new version of Nurse at this point. Like he is a very unique killer and yes I think he fit in the game but the stats on him are literally unfair. First of all 24 meter radius on a ranged killer is already kinda bs. Huntress also has a small terror (20m) radius but she has a lullaby (I think its 40m) that you can hear making her more fair to play againts. Furthermore people in rank 1 literally abuse Deathslinger 24m terror radius and use Monitor and Abuse which makes his terror radius 16 meters. At that point the only way to actually avoid him is that you see him coming from the distance. If you hear the terror radius he is already next to you and gets a guranteed hit.

Just please increase his terror radious or add a banjo music like the huntress lulaby because at rank 1 90% of the games I play is againts are Monitor Abuse Deathslingers and its really unfun.

Sry if I sound salty but I am salty at this point.

    Deathslinger's lullaby?:

  • @OmegaXII said:

Well.. huntress is one of my least played killer, so i don't really understand her.

Majority of the videos i watched have a particular add-on that increases wind up speed. Is it really required?

The answer is...sometimes. There are some maps where, even if your aim is on point, it won't matter. She is too slow to pressure consistently. There is literally no reason to play her over Nurse.

  • @PrettyFaceKate said:

I'd disregard the salty survivor comments, for obvious reasons.

For the rest, well, I've played as her a little bit more than you did, and by little I mean a lot and at rank 1 even before 3.7. This is mostly a subjective topic and thus I'm probably arguing semantics, so don't take this too seriously. I'd say maybe she's not necessarily overrated, but she's a tad overhyped because she has a very vocal fanbase, including on this board.

I think the issue is that some people get mesmerized by crossmaps and prediction shots, then they overestimate her skill cap and correlate that to strength. Don't get me wrong, she has a nice skill cap, but it's not that massive proposition that it's often made out to be. You don't need a 1000h to git gud at Huntress. Heck, lately I've seen some players with anywhere from 100 to 500h on their profiles (matchmaking btw) pull off some really good shots.

Prediction takes into account the same understanding of pathing that any good killer can achieve regardless of playing as her or other characters. Then it's all risk vs reward. Some shots are simply low percentage, unless the survivors are very straightforward, but when they land they have that extra wow factor, especially on Twitch. Mechanically, she's not that difficult. The main points are patience, muscle memory for timing and flicking and cough cough crosshairs cough. The same as with many other killer powers. Also, I shouldn't say this, but knowing how to 'abuse' the hitboxes is very important in her case specifically. She also has built-in stbfl when going hatchet+melee combo, she can cancel at any time and she can hold a hatchet indefinitely, which is extremely advantageous.

So, she's definitely strong. Maybe not Spirit strong, but I don't think many people would put them in the same tier to begin with. Of course, some maps are bad for her, but that goes for any killer. Map size is a lesser issue now, because most have been shrinked. Her range is her mobility.

For broken, I'd say she's broken moslty in the hitboxes. They're way too generous, especially now that with the Deathslinger we know they're capable of making more accurate hitboxes. That's also a reason why I think her skill cap is overestimated. Let's not even discuss dedicated servers.

As a side note, hatchets are not that slow imho. A charged shot is 40 m/s, same as Deathslinger, but the range is the whole map, the hitbox is massive and she can hold it indefinitely. Even if there's wind-up and charging time, the survivors still need to be careful in that time frame and that's often all that's needed to zone them.

My Huntress is by no means amazing, but I am competent and can hold my own. There are so many times when she simply has no shot to take. Even when I m2 up close to take advantage of the recovery, the survivor is often able to hold forward and make it to a building or a structure that she can't throw over. Compare that to someone like Nurse (my main), who always has the potential to down.

    @Mister_Holdout said:

Nah, Huntress is a very good killer. Play against a skilled Huntress and you'll find out very quick lol.

I've played against many skilled Hutnresses. None have made me feel like she is that powerful. My escape rate isn't great against her, but that has more to do with solo que and potato teammates lasting for 5 seconds in the chase.

  • @Kyari said:

Recently decided that I wanted to become a OTP (One trick Pony) and I know that nurse has an extremely high skill ceiling and is extremely effective once you get there. I wanted to lower my self esteem and jumped straight into my purple/red rank lobbies and BOI OH BOI did i have a feild trip of tbags. Had a couple good blinks, out of like 100. I know that the biggest tip that alot of people give is to put time into her and learn her blink ranges with muscle memory etc, but I just thought I'd ask a few questions regarding after aspects of the nurse.

    1. What kind of builds should I run? Currently i run BBQ+C, Infectious fright, PGTW, thanataphobia and go for a snowball slug kinda playstyle.
    2. Are there any other tips that you have for learning nurse other than putting time into her?
    3. Is she worth it or am i better off learning another killer and having more fun straight off the bat

Any input is appreciated, thanks yall!

    1. My current build, which has led to a lot of success: BBQ, Corrupt, Pop, Monitor and Abuse. Addons: 1 recharge, 1 range. Range addons are great.
    2. I always focus on the spot I want to blink, not so much the survivor. DON'T be afraid to eat a stun: If, after your first blink, you were a little off or you think they'll run back at you, take the 1 blink fatigue. This will often make them run towards you and then you are able to hit them without blinking.
    3. She is definitely worth it.

This line caught my eye in particular:

"This last chapter is a very emotional milestone for us and we cannot wait to share it with you."

This could be just marketing (which is very likely), but I would think that if they are talking about a licensed Character, it might be Jason. Even tho, I think this is quite unlikely and I would not even know what his powers could be. So probably only marketing.

Maybe I misread the original post, but I think it is "emotional" more so because it is the 4th anniversary of the game.

    @woundcowboy

Suppose I agree with you with that first sentence... now let me ask. What happens when you can only unbreakable once, but the killer can slug you multiple times at will?

If DS “always” worked then why do I not get hit with it every time when I play killer? Even then when I do, it’s because I make a conscious choice and let them stab me to get rid of it then rather than later... even if it makes me a “tunneler” and honestly I am sometimes surprised they had it because I only find out in post match chat screen.

Again, you underestimate how strong slugging is because you think everyone has unbreakable.

I'd say that the problem with that is that once is enough. One unbreakable can totally change the game, never mind the chance that there are two of them. You also aren't reading closely enough.... DS doesn't have to hit to make an impact on the game. The threat of DS totally changes how the killer has to play the match.

    @woundcowboy

If the killer happens to find the previously unhooked survivor there is no longer 60 seconds.

Slugging (which as someone who plays both sides ) is a big advantage even if you think it isn’t. It literally takes one person off gens and/or forces another or (others in some cases) to hop off. That’s why killers do it with or without DS.

So if you wanna talk about “abusing” what the game already allows you to do without the need to bring a perk, I’d think twice before saying slugging potentially an abusable feature. There are legitimate times when DS is undoubtedly strong but that goes for the killer side too.

Slugging can be negated with a perk. The old DS used to have a perk to counter it, but now it doesn't. DS always works, even if the survivor isn't picked up. Slugging can be decent but, again, getting the hook is better overall.

The problem is that killers get things changed and they still moan. Tonight I've had a killer camp and try to tunnel me off the hook because I was looping the grim pantry. The grim pantry that just got changed in the latest patch. A killer banging on about an infinite loop being abused. Bear in mind he was the huntress and could easily have used a hatchet on me when going for the window(that had a door right next to it). No matter what killers will moan for more and more to be given to them to make chases shorter and make kills easier.

meh, It goes both ways. Back in 2016 when there were ACTUAL infinites, survivor mains (and the devs funny enough) said that they were fine. People will always complain.

  • @MPUK said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1262736#Comment_1262736

You couldn't tell who had it on the old version. You would only know the obsession had it but others could have it too. So it hasn't really changed. Plus..... all the killers cried about the old version when that was just a case of get it out of the way early in the game or juggle the survivor to the hook. So it got changed, then killers didn't like that version either so they have spent another year bawling their eyes out about it.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but I preferred to go against the old DS. I could kobe them and deny the usage, which was a decent counter. You could also run Enduring and significantly minimize its effects. Now, DS works no matter what; it is also easier to hit.

  • @YuiKim said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1263184#Comment_1263184

I would take pressure over a hook stage any day of the weeks, there's literally no pressure to the other 3 surv if you hook someone, but if you slug 2 survivors will get pressured cause 1 has to save the slugged survivor and while that happens you probably are already in a chase...

3 survivor not doing nothing is bad for you?

    Well

    A) Any survivor doing a gen puts pressure on the killer

    and

    B) You have to randomly guess which gen the survivor might be on, whereas the hook will give you information with BBQ. There is a solid chance that you won't find a survivor while you are slugging.

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1263166#Comment_1263166

Being on the ground for a whole gen means your team loses out on a whole gen's worth of objectives.

But again, that is a hell of a lot better than the survivor being hooked and then the killer being able to start another chase. The survivors get to do 1/5th of their objective, while the killer is denied a hook state.

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1263123#Comment_1263123

Being on the ground for a whole gen isn't a consequence? Okay...

Not really. The rest of your team is doing gens, and the killer is either wasting time to stay near you, or he/she has to try and track another survivor. There will be a MINIMUM of one person doing a gen while all of this is going down. Not to mention the fact that the killer isn't able to progress you another hook state, which buys even more time for the survivors.

  • @YuiKim said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1263123#Comment_1263123

So being on the ground doing nothing using your unbreakable which is a win for the killer cause now the killer can slug whenever he wants or someone will have to come and heal you and that are 2 people not doing nothing.

How is that good for the surv, tell me?

It literally takes two seconds to tap a fully recovered survivor, and then they both run to a a gen. It really isn't a big time loss.

  • @YuiKim said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1262736#Comment_1262736

    There is a consequence:

Being on the ground for almost 60s or less if the killer is smart and a wasted perk slot :)

That isn't a consequence. 60 seconds is more than enough time for a gen to pop. After that, a survivor only has to tap the downed person, or the slug can use unbreakable and hurt the killer even more. Dstrike impacts the game either way.

  • As long as DS is up, the survivor can do whatever they want without consequence. The thing that makes it even better (better than it was before the "nerf") is that you, as killer, can't tell who has it.

  • @PassarinoT said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1262395#Comment_1262395

No? As a deathslinger main, he is insanely good. Similar to spirit when she came out, when you land a shot, which is all too easy, you are basically guaranteed a hit. I'm not even a survivor main I'm just trying to make him more interactive. Right now, you have a slim chance of even breaking half his chain before being hit.

This wasn't even implying it's a nerf, in fact I suggested added 2 meters to his chain and then adding more charges to breaking it. It still has essentially the same effect but toned down and less of a guaranteed hit. His power wasn't intended to be a guaranteed hit.

He cannot get hits around a large number of structures, which means he is going to eat a stun. I use Deathslinger as my secondary killer (Nurse is my main), and while I do think he is decent in the chase, he is not at Nurse's level in the chase. Slinger also has FAR worse map control than her.

  • Who cares what the devs call it? It is oppressive and abusable.

  • Deathslinger is an average killer....he doesn't need any nerfs.

I have seen too many discussions on this forum about DS, to remove DS, that survivors are "blessed from god" for DS, ecc. ecc. ecc..

The truth ? Ive seen from my ALT Acc (Purple Rank) and from my standard Account (Red Rank) that most of the killers tunneling at PC are just.... bad.

I give you some examples. Today, rank PURPLE im paired vs a rank 9 Killer. He was tunneling me for 4 gen, 4 gen....... This is pathetic. I understand there are some people inexperienced at the first match playing Killer but if you tunnel for 4 gen and you do 1 hook there is a problem, and the problem is with the player playing killer side..... Moreover im neither good looping so.... And i bet the same kind of killers are the one blaming to remove ds on this forum.... Please stop it, this game need fixes, and probably your gameplay need fixes too.......

And my little trip in purple - green ranks is full of those stories...

So, Killer Mains... stop begging to remove DS and other Perks and start to play.... better. You dont have excuse after last update which made so many maps less secure, with less pallets, ecc. ecc..

Sidenote: I dont play surv, i play more killer in DBD. I dont troll from my ALT account and i never play with Friends there to troll Killers, it's silly 100%. It's just for testing purposes.

Dear guys and girls, waiting your reply !

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/165/RCENWWVABWC0.jpg

Obvious bait thread, but I’ll bite. Ds is the most crutch perk in the game. Anyone that uses it on me dies 100% of the time (and the rest of their teammates too). I eat the stun, blink right back to them and...poof.

  • @BadMrFrosty said:

I'll avoid dropping too big of a novel here, but I'd like for everyone to think about the following:

    • If a teammate is getting camped or 'patrolled', just do the generators and leave the match. This robs the killer of a lot of points, stops them from snowballing, and shows them that in order to catch survivors, they'll actually have to play the game.
    • Most of you do anything but generators for the entirety of the match and wonder why killers 4k so much. If one average person gets chased and caught within 25 - 40 seconds, a bunch of generators can be close to finished, 3 to be exact.
    • At any one point in time, two people can be on generators (assuming one hooked survivor) while one scouts for a potential save. If the killer is camping, see the solution at the top of this list.
    • Run DS/unbreakable. Seriously. Do it. Slugging is only so effective, and leaving you on the ground due to fear of DS in combination with this perk gives the killer a no win scenario. Either leave you on the ground for unbreakable, pick you up and eat a DS, or babysit your body for 60 seconds which is a lot of free generator time. There is no scenario here where the killer is in complete control. Losing to slug strategies should be a thing of the past with that particular perk combination. Unbreakable is one of the top 5 perks in this game, especially against good killers. Killers that pick you up immediately every time they secure a down aren't the ones you'll worry about.
    • Bumrushing hooks contributes to killer snowballing. What I've seen in a lot of games is that most killers will lurk around the hook for a bit to look for any potential unhookers. They test to see how altruistic the team is, but unless they've hard committed to just camping every hook, most killers will go away from the hook when generators start popping. Don't bumrush hooks, you're only putting the game in the hands of the killer.
    • During the endgame collapse, don't be afraid to leave the last person on the hook. Unless you have the correct combination of perks or the killer you're going against has weak hook defense, don't risk giving them more kills than they deserve. Killers count on altruistic saves to turn games from 0K into 3-4K. Don't give undeserved kills.
    • Don't stack up on generators together. It is less efficient, as the risk of having the killer chase multiple people off of one generator isn't worth the slight increase to repair speed. Split up on generators or find new ones if you encounter teammates stacking on one. You'll find your games will go much smoother this way.
    • Choose which generators to prioritize finishing to avoid a 3 gen scenario. Many games I've been in have been sabotaged by people just holding M1 on the first generator they see without any regard for its position. The general rule is: try to do the generators on either side closest to the middle, that way, the killer will have to travel a longer distance during their patrol if the furthest generators are left. This, in turn, gives the entire team more time to finish the remaining generators.

I could add more, but I feel like this should be more than enough. I've played way more survivor these days than killer, and if every survivor had this mindset, I swear to god most killers would quit this game until some real balance or mechanical overhauls took place. That's all, folks!

Edit: One strategy that survivors don't technically contribute toward is tunneling. If a killer is going to do this, then there's not much you can do other than make yourself incredibly difficult to catch. Best case scenario, you run the killer for the entirety of the match and you get out anyway. Worst case? Three people leave the game and one dies.

Edit 2: DS/Unbreakable can be considered a soft counter to tunneling, but doesn't always guarantee an escape.

I wish I could like this post more than once. Kill rates are so high 100% because survivors do some of the stupid things that you mention.

The fact that doctor can track your location with his madness is ridiculous.

Doctor is not a good killer. Sure, he can see you with his phantom, but you also can see it. Be prepared to leave and run to a safe point/pallet. It’s telling that you complained about the meh part of his power and not his antiloop.

Oh no...you mean how killers bring perks to counter survivors keys? Toolboxes? Medkits?

Killers can do it but not survivors?

How is that fair? And don't give me, it's 4 players against 1 excuse.

What exactly counters a key? Don’t say Franklin’s, a survivor would have to be hit 10 times to destroy the key.

  • @Ihatelife said:

He is currently (for me of course) the most unfun killer to play against. It's hillarious how broken his wind up time is and you can spam this without any consequences. Also what is also unfair about him is how he can get a free hit with a spear without even hitting a survivor. That's even more than old Legion. I honestly prefer to play against a good nurse, because she at least has a lot better skill capping and it's more fun to play against.

As a Nurse main, and someone who plays a lot of DS, I can tell you that this is BS. The sights help to a point, but the projectile has travel time and still requires you to guess the survivor’s movement (especially at long range). Nurse is still the queen of the chase in DBD. No one touches her, especially not DS.

You know.... if killers didn't tunnel, camp or slug, then Unbreakable, Borrowed Time and Decisive Strike would basically be useless....

I think the point of the post is that if it weren't for those undesirable killer behaviors, then the "meta" perks would most likely cease to be popular or even necessary. You might have the cheeky gamers who try and waste your time with DS, or unhook right behind your back with BT, but many gamers (including myself) wouldn't feel the need to take the perks if slugging, tunnelling and camping weren't a trend among most killers.

    Nope

DS does its job regardless of the skillcheck being hit. If ANYONE brings it, the killer must slug, which translates to one gen being done (usually).

Title pretty much sums it. Replacing strong loops with nothingness and getting hit for it just feels bad as you lost to RNG and me downing someone because they got unlucky just makes me feel a bit bad

Hot take: most survivors suck at the game. I prefer playing killer and still do very well with survivor every month. In fact, I might even be escaping more since the last patch.

When DC got reworked i loved the idea of an "anti-tunnel" perk and began to use it. (i never used the DS before rework because it was really busted)

after using the reworked DS for months i realized how many times i stunned the killer without even getting tunneled and stopped using DS.

for 1 month now i didnt use DS and more then 50% of my matches there wasnt a obsession means the killer knew there is not DS now guess what happend in this +50% matches? exactly every single survivor got tunneled to hell.

well.. arent killer mains the ones who always say "we want fairness, balance & a non toxic community" ?

where is the fairness on tunneling survivors at the beginning of the match? honestly i can live with that because im not an easy target even when a killer wants to tunnel me he will have a hard time to get me, but what with all the babys and potatos? i dont think its fun to wait 5-10 minutes for a lobby to get tunneled right after the match starts.

where are the killers saying "we just want chill and fun games" ? yeah you want fun games and you do exactly the same thing to someone else? let me tell you im a 50/50 player and here is the problem with this "main" people they have 0% emphaty. i would never NEVER tunnel a survivor when the game just started and there are still 5 gens left.

well you dont care about the fun of other people, why would they care about you? Yes, i changed my mind about DS!

its a must have for every survivor who doesnt know how to loop and how to deal with these killers.

i will never complain again when i play against a swf full with meta perks, and YOU, the ones who hard tunnel when there is no obsession are the reason why these perks are meta and exists!

I make it my personal mission to make sure that anyone who uses DS dies. It encourages me to tunnel lol.

  • You regurgitated survivor main opinions? Yea, I see what you did @ZeroJukes

  • @ZeroJukes said:

Killers complain about ds in 2020

If you understand the game, then you know DS is the most powerful perk.

On topic, yes: new killers and survivors complain more than they play.

As a huntress main and a player of survivor, I think IRI's need a change as well.

My ideal change for them is similar to Death slinger's iridescent coin: Make it so that Iridescent head only insta-downs 15 metres away.

I agree that iri needs a change, but using DS as a comparison isn’t good. That addon is literally worthless on him.

  • As a dedicated main, I think she is worth it. You will struggle at first, but she has more potential than almost any other killer. The sensitivity changes on console make her much more viable now. As others have said, she has her share of bugs, but even with that, she is still less frustrating than playing M1 killers....LOL.

  • Oh well, I don’t like facing Oni anyways. They all play the same and run the same build. Bye bye :)

Hmm.... that must be why I get consistent victories with Nurse in purple/red ranks without ever having used range addons. Like I said in my first message, the only thing that range addons do is make it easier for survivors to juke her blinks (in my experience playing against many Nurses who all seem to use range addons). I think people forget that Nurse can simply walk(?) like normal killers, as she's only .15 slower than a survivor, and that she doesn't HAVE to blink to move across the map. In my experience, the less you blink, the better, because it gives survivors less information as to your whereabouts and allows you to get the drop on them more often than not, especially with Monitor and Abuse (which is why I don't understand taking Shadowborn, Monitor and Abuse gives you an FOV increase AND a smaller terror radius, which is always great).

To assume that I don't know Nurse because I call her range addons bad is silly, especially since I do perfectly fine without them. I use pinecone + ataxic respiration or a blink recharge speed addon, use her blinks ONLY when I see survivors and am in range, and consistently have fun, productive games in purple/red rank 🙂

I agree monitor is good, but you are wrong about her range addons. A good team will punish a nurse who walks too much by pushing the gens. Monitor allows her to get close while making use of her range.

I'm trying not to use any addons so I dont get used to something that's not the baseline for nurse. If I can do ok without then I'll see how I can do with addons.

Range addons help massively. Pre nerf, you would be right that it would change the muscle memory. But now, her blink charge rate is always the same. The addons just make it so that she closes her hand later for the additional distance.

I mainly play Nurse as well and I'm easily able to blink wherever I please. And yes, that includes the Isolation Room on Hawkins, the Shrine on Sanctum, and the Saloon balconies. I also just watched a guy play Nurse and he blinked straight to the top of the shrine, easily! If you're unable to blink to those areas, then maybe that's a personal problem, not the killer. Also, I've never had a problem moving after grabbing people, and I recently played several games in a row where I grabbed people off of generators.

And a well-played Nurse doesn't have to use range addons to "catch up" to people.... if they've gotten far enough away for you to have to blink long-range then you're already playing wrong. Furthermore, range addons don't help you catch people, they only allow people to easily double back while you're blinking and waste your time (which I do frequently, since most Nurses I play against use range addons.... P3 Nurses to top it off). I personally use Monitor and Abuse on her so that I can get closer to people before I start blinking, and it works extremely well. If anything, I would say that she is perfectly fine without addons, and the only addons that you would need to use would be her double cooldown reduction and maybe a blink recharge speed. Nurse is the strongest killer in the game in the right hands, and it doesn't take a genius to realize that--the fact that she is the only killer who can completely ignore pallets, windows, loops, floors and balconies is something in and of itself. I play Nurse when I sense the sweaty 4-man group, with great results 😏

I think that gamers need to realize that Nurse is extremely strong, but it is very easy to make mistakes as her, and making mistakes as Nurse is very punishing (especially when you start panicking and getting frustrated). It's easy to call her bad because you play against bad Nurses, but since when has the fault of the player suddenly become "the character itself is bad"? You wouldn't watch bronze ranked gamers on League of Legends play Zed, play very poorly (since he's a hard-to-play character), and then call Zed trash.... that would be ridiculous. This is what is happening with Nurse.

The fact that you say her range addons are bad shows that you don’t know Nurse. Range HUGELY helps her in the chase and with her map pressure.

  • The rework/addon pass was a complete failure- 4 addons are worth using. She also now has to play pretty lame to win because her map pressure was crushed, which I’m pretty sure is counter to what the devs were trying to do.

Having said that, she is the best killer in the game (which is an indictment of how bad most m1 killers are.) I consistently 4k at rank 1 and I can REALLY feel the difference in power when I play other killers. She might be the only viable killer against expert survivors. Lately, there have been so many matches in which I thought “no killer except Nurse could have won this.”

I understand why Pop and NOED exist, and I don't think they're unnecessary perks on most killers. But against the top tier killers, they become too strong. It is widely agreed that the counter to NOED is to do bones, but against a good Nurse, Spirit, Billy or Freddy you simply don't have the time to do bones against them. You have to hold M1 on gens any time you aren't being chased just to have a chance at winning the game. So guess what happens? If you waste time doing bones against them, you lose the game because you wasted too much time not doing gens. If you hold M1 on gens, you get hit with NOED because you didn't do totems.

The same thing applies to Pop. If it's a good Nurse, Spirit, Billy or Freddy then they can just pop everything almost constantly and no one can get gens done against them. I understand the need for Pop and NOED on killers like Pig, Legion, Clown, Leatherface, Doctor and so on but on high tier killers it's just too oppressive.

NOED: As others have said, you are better off using another perk and not banking on the endgame. In my experience as a red rank killer and survivor, NOED rarely makes a significant difference. It usually means the killer gets 1-2k unless the group is very greedy.

Pop: It is a stong perk to be sure, but I can tell as a Nurse main that it isn't always worth it. Tracking is vital with Nurse, so letting a survivor break LOS and gain distance to pop the gen has consequences.

  • For me, it’s easily The Hag. She doesn’t play the game (chasing) and is most effective at confirming kills and straight up camping. While camping is a valid strat, it’s boring. She gets my vote for the most braindead killer in the game (this doesn’t mean she is broken.)

So what you're saying is... you only face the imbalance when you're playing survivors better than you... lmao

I 4k in about 99% of my matches with my main (Nurse). At best, a handful of survivors are as good as me. My point is that kill rates are skewed to be so high because most people are bad at the game.

Never ran ruin always been rank one, always had consistent +2 kills, I think a lack of skill on the killer side is the biggest factor in this game, there just aren't very many good players playing killer.

You could easily say the same of most survivors. I am a consistent rank 1 killer, and I can tell you most survivors are absolute potatos. You only feel the imbalance when you are facing competent solos/swf.

So red rank killer here tired of stressful games really, time to derank. So only played Nurse like three times before today because she is so hard to play. So today I started playing Nurse! I really want to learn to play her because I'm good with all other killers.

So played 5-6 games today on Xbox and have still not gotten a single kill 😁 Really wish I could just play against low rank survivors to get the games fun for everyone. The survivors I go up against now soon discover how bad I am and literally make fun of me teabagging and running around me. Yes not fun it's embarrasing really. And can't be fun for good survivors playing against a killer that play like a rank 20 killer either 🙄

Is there some other way than just playing games to get better? Any youtuber or something that is helpful? Any tips from you guys?

Keep at it! As others have said, you will endure many losses while you level up with her.

in terms of strategies, I prefer to visualize the place where I want to blink rather than focusing on the survivor. Especially early on, I would recommend doing that and not even worrying about if you hit the survivor or not. Once you have the muscle memory, then you can worry about mindgames and if the survivor will run at you.

A god nurse will always beat a group of survivors. It literally does not matter, they will always lose against her.

100% wrong. Even the best Nurse can lose.

From what I remember, pallets were reduced but made more visible, doesn't seem very survivor sided to me.

I'm too lazy to look up the notes, but I 100% know that the number was increased.

You have to do far more than just say someone’s wrong, add a counter argument at the very least, just saying someone’s wrong proves nothing, you just look like an idiot.

If you were following the discussion, you would have seen what I was saying. He said the game hasn't changed when it has been. Do you not follow?
