The closing hatch mechanic is great. You can prepare for it by 99% a generator, or simply being good at stealth.
I think they should introduce some time limit for the Survivor though, with a completed gen adding to the time remaining.
-
The problem is 360s exist in pretty much any game with a 3rd person camera and free character movement.
Seriously, give it a try in like GTA or something (do it while regular running, you can pull a very tight circle)
It existed in a game like Crackdown as well. This isn't something you can remove easily without overhauling the entire movement and camera system. Plus, it isn't that hard to counter as a Killer.
At most you should get only 360d once by a particular Survivor. Every time after that you should simply follow him and wait for him to 360 into your face, or just back up when he starts the 360 and follow which way he goes for an easy hit. If you are getting 360d multiple time, i'm sorry, but stop lunging and try focusing just a little bit on being intelligent in your approach.

@AlexAnarchy I'm not saying that at all, I never said "I want matches to last less than 2 minutes when all survivors just gun the gens and bam, exit gates open." Please just hear me out, I'm just thinking that if every survivor was to work on generators together (let's assume it's SWF and they all completed 5 generators together), it would be very difficult to get a gold/iridescent because points are split evenly between them all. I just think it's just odd that survivors are supposed to be a team yet they don't get some kind of bonus for repairing generators as a team. I don't want the points to be high, just a small amount where you are encouraged to work together. I'll repeat myself to make my point more clear, if you 0 to 100% a generator with 1/2/3 survivor(s), maybe 5/10/15 more points to Light Bringer? Isn't that the point of the game is to work together?
I'll do the math as well, iridescent Light Bringer is 270. If you 0 to 100% every generator with 3 survivors, then 25+25+25+25+25 is 125. Now with the slight teamwork bonus with Light Bringer would add, 15+15+15+15+15+125 = 200, that's exactly gold for Light Bringer. Yes I know this seems like a lot but that's if EVERYTHING is perfect which is unlikely to happen.
Again, don't assume and give me constructive feedback because it's why I came to the forums.
But you know that's exactly what will happen. Rounds end in less than two minutes.
Actually games only last 2 minutes when all the survivors are on separate gens.
One guy being chased and 3 others all on different gens means 3 gens finished in a minute and 20 seconds, last 2 pop another minute and a half later
Not only does the game go SLOWER when you work with teammates, but it also makes you get less points. Essentially the game actually punishes you for using teamwork and attempting to make the game last longer. All Survivors focusing the same gens will make the game go much slower, around 5 to 6 minutes if the Killer patrols well. The only benefit from working with teammates is if you REALLY need to finish the last gen or you want more bloodpoints.
-
@Runiver it's also the cause of true infinites still existing in certain areas.
-
I hope at the very least player levels are visible.
-
No, cosmetics will not cross over. Everything earned in the PTB will be lost.
-
Camping is sometimes necessary but is also a lot of the time counter productive, unless you really dont like a particular survivor.
Personally, I dont really care about camping as long as the first hook with like 5 gens left isn't a camp. If you wanna do it, go for it I understand the need to snowball to win the game. It's no more cheesy than camping in any other game honestly.
-
Trust me my guy, I made a petition on the steam forums that got nearly 4k comments.
It's unlikely they'll do anything about it other than buff solo survivors for some reason.

They've considered doing the whole "needing a part to finish the gen" idea before which imo would probably be the easiest and best thing to try.Like after 50% require the Survivors to search for a part to complete the gen. If they get the part installed, the gen can no longer be regressed below 50%. I think that would be an interesting gameplay change.
that would be interesting, the only thing I am thinking of that still needs to be considered is how many of these parts spawn in the map. Just having the right amount of these can be great, but having too little or too many can cause issues. Also what if they killer hits a survivor holding a part. Maybe it breaks in their hand since they would have to pick up that part to put on the generator.
Also if the survivor got it to 50% and don't have the part, can the regression still go through while they go and find a part or no. Cause that is a big issue too depending on which way it goes.
Yeah that sounds reasonable. If they get it to 50% but don't have the part installed, the Killer can regress it back to 0.

Why not make D strike simply stun the killer in place instead of dropping the survivor? Keep everything about D strike the same from the stun times to the skillcheck but instead you get a stun giving the survivor more time to wiggle. This suggestion would also pair well with boil over for anyone looking to run a wiggle free build. With this change the killer would have some legit counter play and it would not be game breaking. Its a simple idea but maybe this is all the perk really needs to be balanced. Thoughts? Opinions?Every one thinking up these big changes. Your idea is good. But honestly...
Just make only obession able to use it. Problem solved. Only one D-strike s game, that won’t effect you that much.
literally what ive been saying
B b but.. then the poor survivors will have wasted their perk slots!

Since it's a PTB it "doesn't matter" according to the trolls.
-
Pretty sure it can be chalked up to either just video game mechanics or rules of the Entity's Realm.
Like how Killers cannot be injured (but still feel pain), Survivors can die, but until then have infinite durability in terms of non-lethal damage in order to give them more hope the Entity can feed on.

People forget Killers consume their addons every match whether they win or lose too, unlike Survivors.
Killers always get the short end of the stick.

If you get permabanned, you should stay so unless you have solid evidence your ban was unjustified, which is solely up to the discretion of the devs.
I haven't ever heard of anyone getting their ban appealed though

Funny that yuo say that, in the store I can see pitch black cloths, I wonder how this is affecting the balance,.....
Black clothing only works on some maps though. Sure on Macmillan estate and Prenn Asylum its op af, but put that person on Coldwind or Lerys? Not nearly as good there eh
Survivors have the power to choose the map
Exactly. 4 offerings will always outweigh the killer's 1.

second chances that breeds an entitlement mentality etc.I could keep going. But i'm hoping they have finally realized their errors with this roadmap. The PTB seems promising.
I think a lot of that was the fault of Starbreeze. I can imagine Starbreeze demanded that Survivors get Get Out Of Jail For Free perks and that Freddy gets nerfed.
It's kind of weird how Behavior is like "Okay, we're going to nerf Freddy because of rank 20's."
3 months later.
"We think Freddy is fine."
4 months later and Starbreeze is out of the picture.
"We're going to buff Freddy soon."
You don't exactly have to be Sherlock Holmes to notice something is up. Not to mention that DS has been absolute cancer for such a long time but once Behavior is free from Starbreeze they start talking about nerfing/changing DS.
This is also true. I had hopes that the game would improve after leaving Starbreeze and so far the PTB is promising.
-
Then he would pretty much be exactly the same as the Doctor.
Making his power identical to Doctor in practice and ability just makes him a clone character. One of the devs have stated that rather than throwing the bottle AT Survivors when they loop and such, throw it in areas nearby to deny them, giving you time to catch up and keeping their vision obscured. If you hit them directly, their vision is blurred even more.
Also, if you make the bottle break at a higher elevation the gas spreads in a wider area. Just keep that in mind

Freddy is commanding the Survivor to Remember him when he gains a token. Freddy is implanting the order of "Remember Freddy Kruger," into the Survivor because that's how Freddy comes back to life, and that's how he is truly killed.
If no one remembers him, he cannot invade their dreams. This is the entire premise behind the movie Freddy vs Jason.
You contradicted yourself by saying it is not a declaration then saying it is not a question.
The OP was asking if he commanding you to remember him or if he is asking you if you remember himWhat? I didn't contradict myself? There are 4 sentence types. Declaration, Imperative, Exclamatory, and Interrogative. The sentence "Remember Me" is neither a Declaration nor is it a Question. It is a command.
People seem to think a declaration and imperative are the same thing. They are not. A declaration simply declares something. "That shirt is red." Is a declaration. "Go wear a red shirt," is a command and therefore in Imperative form.
English lessons for everyone.

To the OP. No. For the 300th time, no amount of BP compensation will be enough to persuade Killers to play with SWF. Considering SWF issues are biggest at high rank, and most high rank Killers already have their builds, BP is pointless. This will solve nothing.

Here it is again, it looks to be an issue when holding sprint like you said, which most of the time people do it without noticing, I hope it gets changed. This change is intentionally. Simply let go of shift, it isn't that hard. If you wanna stay same side, stand still and hit space. If you want to go to the other side, hold shift, run forward, and hit space when on the other side. You can't throw same side if you hold shift.
It's as simple as lifting your pinky finger when hitting space. It's a part of the pallet changes that remove the vacuum from the game.
It's not as simple as you think, because most of the time it is done unconsciously - your concentration is towards your surrounding and what the killer is doing that you simply forget that you're still holding down shift.
You need to have the situational awareness and adaptation to it, it's a new mechanic so of course it'll feel funny at first. I've gotten used to it so it isn't a big deal for me atm. I think the new changes are great.
Yeah we make unconscious decisions, but that's where you need to train your muscle memory. I'll use a different genre for example, fighting games. Plenty of inputs needed for combos and special moves, more so than just holding a single button in DbD. You have to be aware of your opponent in a fighting game, have perfect timing, AND be aware of your inputs at all times in order to not make a mistake.
It's the same concept when trying to teach people when to let go and when to press shift. You need to stop making it unconscious and start making it conscious. Pallets were pretty mindless before, now they require a bit of effort. It isn't that bad.
Bro you didn't have to go that in depth just tell him to adapt, bringing a fighting game doesn't make any sense since this is dbd..

Or the PTB system where the survivors take the game hostage, because they didn´t bring a key and can´t be bothered to fix a gen?How can they fix a gen? Killers can (proven by stats) patrol much faster than one can complete a gen, and can regress it.
There is an achievement call Left for Dead for completing the last gen and getting out through the gate, hatch isn't an option. I have it. In fact, I repaired 3 gens as the last guy and still got out through the gate.
It's called being stealthy, and not focusing a single gen. If you are able to stealthily move back and forth, you can keep the Killer second guessing your true whereabouts. You can also 99% a gen before the last guy dies to prepare for the event of a hatch closing.
Adapt.

Legacy should stay only for those who had to deal with the bloodwebs i get it looks awesome now on the ptb and people want it and have for a long time the harsh reality is not everyone can have everything they want and thats fine in my opinion legacy was earned by those who had to suffer through super bad times with bloodwebs so they earned it as someone who does not have legacy tbh id be super mad if they did legacy again which they said they wont.As far as exclusives go its possible but at the same time its probably not gonna happen what are they gonna do for the killers who cant get skins at the moment? see the underlying issue there
Now as for AC i think that right there is pretty nuts to give out free they wouldnt make any money because people would just run and buy the dlc's quick so they can get the cosmetics they want for free its a terrible move in terms of making money.
The only thing i can say is we got to play them before anyone else i guess thats just what we get we were able to play them first hand some people are not as fortunate in terms of financial abilities to buy things at the moment and for them this change is super good they dont have to worry about money they can play and earn the dlc.
Also the reason i would be mad if they did legacy again is because i didnt earn it just would not feel right it would feel like behavior would be spitting in the face of those who actually put the work in to get legacy now in your case it sucks if you have a old save file maybe they could do something for you but other than that i dont know what else could be done there.
All I have of proof is my achievement prior to that date and one screenshot of me wearing my P3 headpiece on Meg. That's about it.

Well, the small vacuum I actually get. I see some problems with the hatch closing mechanics as is, but I dont think the basic idea of it is bad at all, and much of the complaining is biased towards survivors, my only problem with hatch closing is concern towards it being closed MULTIPLE times. The vacuum issue I think is more geared towards the fact that its actually hard to pull down pallets now, not that the teleportation is an issue. Between issues where it wont pull if you are holding shift to having trouble finding the actual point where it will let you pull it down, the removal of pallet vacuum is aggravating
The vacuum needed to go. The teleportation WAS the issue. It made pallets way too easy to use. It actually makes sense now. You either don't hold shift and you stay same side, or you have to run to the other side and drop the pallet. I instantly adapted the first game I played, and still have the same amount of time during my chases, because I never looped before, these changes don't affect my gameplay that much, so I don't have to worry about over committing to a particular side. You either pick the right side and get away, or choose the wrong side and/or get too greedy and let him get to close and you get a trade at wosrt and downed without using the pallet at best, in which case the Killer will be forced to stand on top of you, because remember, the pickup vacuum was also removed for Killer. This means downing at pallets, which happens more often now, is extremely risky for the Killer, as the Survivor is STILL given a second chance opportunity, given that a teammate happens to be nearby.
Literally, this is an adaptation issue. They COMPLETELY changed how the Nurse's blink worked, and despite a lot of criticism, it stayed in the game and Nurses were FORCED to adapt. No one asked for that. But it turned out to be somewhat better, but still harder to learn.
It's the same case with the pallets, except it isn't hard to learn at all. You literally just hold shift or hold it. I'm not quite sure why people don't have full control over their body and are unable to lift their pinky off of shift.
Again, I'll use fighting games as an example. Games where you must be aware of EVERY SINGLE INPUT YOU MAKE, or you WILL lose. It's the same concept here. You need to be aware of your inputs. Really guys, it isn't that difficult. What is this "soft vacuum" nonsense people are talking about if you don't mind me asking?
