I mean I've completed 3 gens as the last guy before and gotten out of the gate. There's an achievement for it called Left for Dead.
It isn't super difficult if you're really good at stealth. You just need to be able to move back and forth between the gens to keep the Killer guessing, as well as be able to actually lose him in case you get caught.
The new hatch changes demand more skill from the Survivors. It's no wonder they hate it.

I'm gonna have to say no. They said it would never come back, and I would prefer they stick with what they said.Going back on it just sets a bad precedent and makes me wonder if I can trust their word again.
I would be cool with them sticking to their word if so many people didn't hack Legacy and if their own ineptitude didn't cause hundreds of people to lose their earned Legacy. They gave it back to 72hrs.
Why not everyone else that lost it? Seems unreasonable to me.

Here it is again, it looks to be an issue when holding sprint like you said, which most of the time people do it without noticing, I hope it gets changed. This change is intentionally. Simply let go of shift, it isn't that hard. If you wanna stay same side, stand still and hit space. If you want to go to the other side, hold shift, run forward, and hit space when on the other side. You can't throw same side if you hold shift.
It's as simple as lifting your pinky finger when hitting space. It's a part of the pallet changes that remove the vacuum from the game.
It's not as simple as you think, because most of the time it is done unconsciously - your concentration is towards your surrounding and what the killer is doing that you simply forget that you're still holding down shift.
You need to have the situational awareness and adaptation to it, it's a new mechanic so of course it'll feel funny at first. I've gotten used to it so it isn't a big deal for me atm. I think the new changes are great.
Yeah we make unconscious decisions, but that's where you need to train your muscle memory. I'll use a different genre for example, fighting games. Plenty of inputs needed for combos and special moves, more so than just holding a single button in DbD. You have to be aware of your opponent in a fighting game, have perfect timing, AND be aware of your inputs at all times in order to not make a mistake.
It's the same concept when trying to teach people when to let go and when to press shift. You need to stop making it unconscious and start making it conscious. Pallets were pretty mindless before, now they require a bit of effort. It isn't that bad.

Legacy players are normally toxic so... at least 90% of all the ones I encounter. Maybe that is because they hack theirs in and the non toxic ones are the ones that still have it legit. Don’t know but having legacy for buying seems unfair. I like their new unique skins like the doctor ones.Legacy has lost much of it's initial luster because of hacks and people who have lost their saves such as me.
Legacy is essentially worthless now because you can't tell who truly earned it legit or not, especially if their profile is private.

310 points was kinda accurate for Iri imo.
270 is getting close to kinda easy.
270 is 2 full gens (200), 1 door (15), 5 gens repaired total (not only by you, 25 points)
The count is already at 235, which got you pretty close to Iri by basically doing some average job of a survivor not in a chase.Couldn't remember the actual values but iridescent LB emblem should be like 3.5 gens or something close.
It used to be 310 points, so basically, 40% of a gen extra (or more hex totems)
Part of the game is about sacrificing yourself for the team if you choose to do so. That is the pure definition of Altruism, sacrificing oneself. You are Benevolent by taking on the curse for everyone else. It's a trade-off, a gamble. Hell you could even make unique perks for the "curse bearer" to give them buffs when afflicted by a Curse.
I mostly see it like it :
Others are ressources for you to be able to escape. You get rewarded for altruism, sure, but you are altruist mostly because you are forced to be altruist if you do not want to lose your teammates too quickly.
Once you don't need them, they're disposable. At least that's how I play survivor. Once the gates are opened, and I have a slight risk to get killed for wanting to help, I just leave instantly.
"Not mah business anymore"And that's my point. You take on the Curse for your team that is getting bodied by Ruin or Devour Hope in order for the game to keep going, not because you need to help your team, but because you need them to remain effective to continue the match. Personally, I don't need my team at all and I have no problems opting to ignore people on the hook.
Plus this would be a buff to Hex perks in a way, but so would your version of it. I just prefer mine because if you make Curse Bearing related perks, you can create a whole new gameplay mechanic and style for the Survivors, which is always a good thing. Less people using DS and SC the better. But the Curse Bearing perks would need to be worth it, because possibly getting afflicted with Devour Hope for the rest of the game better have some kind of massive upside with it.
Still doesn't fit the spirit of the game imo.
My version was also a buff, possibly a bigger one, since it would make people to sprint around the map early to find it first, and then to take the risk to break it themselves to get the buff. You would know who to get and who to kill if you wanted an advantage.
A curse related perk sounds rather situational, and sounds like a good way to get mad at your teammates that kills your perk slots by spawning 5 meters away from a totem

In any case, we're getting quite off the topic of this thread lol.
True enough. I'll make a separate one where we can discuss this.

Mostly because the reason it was made in the first place is because of how absurd it was to get prestige originally. A single prestige would cost you around 70 hours of gameplay.

Just saying.This. Giving us auric cells for the dlc we bought would be a perfect reward.
Lol. [BAD WORD] no they're not giving out ac for previous bought dlcs. They wouldn't make any money! that would defeat the whole purpose of generating additional income to keep the game chug chug chugging along.
We already spent currency on stuff that players will be able to earn absolutely free. There should be some unique cosmetics or AC given to these players that bought the DLC before it was available for free, as there was no choice in the past.

I used to have gold/Iri every rounds tbh.Doesn't matter much as long as I get more survivors to kill at high ranks tbh.
Survivors are the ones that need to complain about these changes if they feel like it, since the matchmaking will allow to match them with survivors that aren't as good as the previous ones.
As a killer main, I don't mind that update at all.
I mean I didnt personally have an issue with Lightbringer other than the splittage of points when you coop a generator. I've mentioned in the past I have slight issues with Lightbringer, Benevolence, and Evader.
Perhaps this new system will be better for the general populace as well as high rank. They just to find a good medium, where high rank isn't a desert and low rank is congested, and one where high rank isn't plagued by low tier players and low rank is filled with pros and tryhards.
We'll see.
In either case, I don't mind.
I actually liked the fact that the points were split for repairing as 2 people on gens, because I like the fact that survivors are kinda in "competition", as it is kinda the spirit of the base game (Having 4 cooperatives using each others to get to their goals).
I'd actually like Hexes to buff the one that destroys them for example, and debuff the others. Now that would be hilarious, but I'm not sure if people are ready for that.
Just imagine :
You break Hex : Ruin.
You get a 30% bonus in repair speed.
All 3 other survivors get a 10% malus.it forces you to be sneaky when you destroy the totem so the killer won't tunnel you to get that advantage away.
It makes people to want to fight to break it, and actively look for it, rather than powering through simply. Now that would be kinda fun. At least to me, but I guess it's debatable.
I only dislike the splittage of points because everyone shouts the game is a "team game." Well working with your team shouldn't punish you, but I also fully understand the concept of each Survivor should only care about themselves at the end of the day.
I mean they made it easier to get LB scores so splitting with teammates isn't as bad anymore, especially when gens are your main objective.
Oh the whole Hex curse thing? I'd rather the cleanser be afflicted with the downsides in exchange for freeing their team of the curse. You could have a designated "curse bearer."

I do not have any Legacy skins. And I've played casually since the release. I feel that LEGACY was earned by people at the time and if you didn't get it then. You should NEVER, NEVER be able to acquire it.You don't deserve it, and believe it or not you are not entitled to have everything in the game. I bet it bugs your butt bad that there is a STAFF cosmetic that only BHVR staff can have.
Ok, but I did get it back then and lost it because of data save issues because of BHVR's poor coding. Sooooo...?
If that is the case then BHVR should be working to get YOU back Legacy not everyone else. You earned it and lost it , they should find a way to get it back to you. But giving it to everyone takes away from your accomplishment.
That's subjective for me to decide honestly. While I do understand cosmetic exclusivity, i also understand this was a problem created by the devs.
I'm not saying to give me back my Meg 3 Legacy or anything cause I bought the DLC (but trust me, they do need to give me back what I earned), i'm saying I'd like to see Legacy or something for Doctor and Hag.

So you said Killer's have a hard time at high rank, and you want to include ways for it to be even more difficult for them? Do me a favor and continue your high rank run of Killer and get to around Rank 4.
AS far as your points, I disagree with all of them.
Doc has to be looking at you to get madness up? What change is this? Last time I checked being in TR still builds madness. Doctor is a midtier Killer at best that can be overcome quite easily.
Pig's lunge is completely nullified by Sprint Burst, is destroyed by pallets, and has a huge warning sound.
Nurse's calling already has short enough range to give you enough reaction to stop healing if they get nearby. NC was already nerfed once.
Trapper doesn't need a speed debuff. He already eats a stun and drops survivors if he steps in his own trap.
If Killers lose points for camping, Survivors should lose points for looping. Two sides of the same coin.
Self care being built into every survivor is insane, is this a troll?
Absolutely not. The Survivors do not need more second chances.
Borrowed Time already exists, as well as Kindred. Use them.

True but they could implement a nerfed version. I don't know what it would be. Maybe healing yourself without a medkit would result in a status effect such as exhaustion. I don't know but there must be a way it could work.
I don't think giving self care to every survivor will be a good idea even with an exhaustion addition like that. I'd rather see overused perks like SC get hit slightly with a nerf but not so much to destroy the perk, while buffing all of the other perks Survivors choose not to use.
It's a case of Dominant Strategy, the top level stuff is so good there isn't much reason to use anything else.
I actually like perks like Stake Out, because it does a pretty good job of countering one of the top Killer perks, Ruin.

Regardless, I couldn't care less about pleasing people on these forums. I spit out a lot of unpopular opinions, and I'm always met with dismissive attitudes and attempts to hurt my credibility, and yet despite this, I have more people to agree with me than disagree at the end of the day.

Far from relevant? If that's what you really think dude, but nice try trying to act like I'm not relevant balance wise is hilarious to me.
And yeah, personal experience matters? We all play the game to have fun. If one side isn't having much fun, there's probably an issue. Just saying. Nice assumption by the way, cause I've never even remotely came close to saying something like that.
@Zanfer It was a quip at the hypocrisy the devs and survivors continue to perpetuate. However, it is true that Deathgarden is balanced around teams from the start, whereas DbD would need a complete overhaul.
@ThePloopz I'm sorry 70% of the playerbase is ok with playing with their friends at the expense of game balance and their killer's own fun. Only the SWF fun matters.
Sorry 70% of the playerbase doesn’t agree with your view. Would you like a hug? Geez we just want to play with our friends and have fun on this game I didn’t know us wanting to enjoy ourselves was such a problem to so many people. I mean hell I pretty much only play in swf and I love to give suggestions and talk with killers as to what would help make things balanced and more enjoyable for them but it’s ######### like this that make me not want to do that and just be like the other survivors who actually don’t care about the killer’s fun. So maybe just maybe people shouldn’t make such asinine statements anymore about swf players not caring about balance or killer fun. Just a thought though.
If the description of this match doesnt apply let it fly. As I stated before, I am aware of the fact not all survivors are like this.
But a Killer cannot afford to give them breathing room unless it's quite clear they are not trying to ruin his game. But this is most SWF groups in the experience of many Killers. To dismiss this issue is laughable.

You flooded the Steam Forums with posts that were full of prejudices, insults, entitlement, toxicity and salt and you got banned multiple times for it. Can you at least PLEASE restrict your "posts" to the off topic section. It is so sad that you want to ruin this forum aswell.Nice try trying to bring up my band as if I was banned for being toxic multiple times, but sorry you're just incorrect at my ban reasons. Only one of my bans was due to toxic behavior with one particular user. Whom we had personal beef with but have since made up. The other was not at all for toxic behavior and was questionable at best. It was not for toxicity. If you wanna discuss my bans in detail feel free to message me and I can send you screenshots, but dont act like I'm some vitriolic guy that wants to ruin this game, you're simply slandering me at this point and going way off topic.
Prejudice? Entitlement? It's obvious the survivor side is busted that's clear. Insults? I only ever directly insulted one user and that was why I got one of my bans, all other "insults" are directed at game skill and if you take that personal that's your own issue. Toxic? Please, I'm far from the most toxic players in this game.
My profile stats show I'm still the survivor main all other survivor mains hate. Thankfully I have people who agree with me as well.

In this thread you're too biased, you kind of repeat the same thing and often misunderstand other users points. There's no reasonable argument I want to bring up to show you another way to look at balance, you simply cannot accept it.So, again, it wasn't for you my message.
Funny considering I can say the same thing about a lot of the people who have posted in my opposition.
You're right though, that wasnt directed at me so I apologize.

So that´s statistic manipulation for you.And yes, again. Last summer you said, that many killers love to play against 4x SWF with flashlights. I asked others, and proofed you wrong. (Please don´t ask me why i remember those dumb things)
Yep. It matters. Because if you think it's the same SWF 2 and SWF 4, then I'm really REALLY glad you're far from being relevant balance-wise, as not a member of the devs team.
Lmao, so, your personal experience and those who you asked should matter regarding statistics? Bet you asked: "Do you like being BULLIED BY SWF 4-MEN-SQUAD CLAUDETTES 2 PFL 2 BNP?!?!".

If people want team comms as a main part of this game, i'll pull a Mathieu Cote here.
Play something else. Go play Deathgarden, a game that is balanced around teamplay and comms from the get go, not a game that was originally balanced around solos, and would need a COMPLETE OVERHAUL in order to to balance it properly for teams.

Sorry, but this game wasnt made or designed with the ability to play with friends in mind. SWF gives you a massive advantage, there should be a downside to it as well, as do some perks and addons. That's called balance. If you dont want the disadvantages, play within the intended balance.I've already done the theoretical math in my petition that garnered over 3k comments on Steam. Wait times wouldn't really be affected too much and if anything, would cause the playerbase to grow by attracting old solo players and Killers alike.
Growth and profit at the expense of fun for one of the sides isn't good game design, it's shilling for the majority and dropping your initial vision for profit. This kind of artistic murder is shameful. People who bought this game to play with friends when it first came out bought the wrong game. Devs knew SWF would be unbalanced, wo they opted no to include at it first until they could figure out how to balance it.
Survivor mains whined and review bombed and made them cave. Yet when Killers review bomb and whine, they get told to get over it. Funny how these things work.
Sorry, but the developers weren't always right since the beginning inception of the game. There is no magical merit to clinging onto original developer statements like a messiah.
Playing with friends should be encouraged. Cooperation should be encouraged. This game is a team game and players should not be penalized for inviting more players to play with them and buy the game. Networking is a powerful tool for the game's growth and maintenance, and the developers know it.
Okay... I would be impressed if you managed to prove reliability or validity in your data and analysis...
Idealistic masturbation and Puritan gatekeeping over a specific preference of play will only prohibit improvement of the game. "Artistic" doesn't mean "original", and "growth" doesn't mean "bad". People who bought the game at its inception are not the only players that get a say in the game's direction, and their voices have no more merit than other players. Devs knew that prohibiting SWF limited growth and player retention, and they merely took the step in a direction you cannot appreciate.
Thanks for the anecdotes buddy.
You lost me at cooperation should be encouraged. Read the store description of the game.
Work with your team... or don't.
This is not a team game. You have the opportunity to work with your team, but ultimately you are playing for yourself. Sorry 70% of the playerbase doesn't understand this concept.

About 30% of the SWF groups are 4 stacks. That leaves the other 40% of SWF users to be 2 and 3 mans.
This doesn't change the fact that 70% of games have some kind of SWF.
Stat manipulation? You mean like how the devs did to make it seem like SC only had a 21% pick rate among Survivors? Meh.

They don't need to bring solo players to the level of SWF. They need to nerf SWF groups or make a separate mode.
I absolutely do not agree with putting solos on the same level as SWF, and have opposed this mindset since it was first considered by the devs.
Cripple a large chunk of the playerbase for inviting their friends to play the game together? Sure. /s
Split the already long queue and, again, punish players for inviting their friends to play (BUY) the game? Uh huh.
If you advocate for something that kills the growth and profit of the game, you will be waiting for a very long time.

Look, i really want a balanced game for both sides.
An exciting game that is fun for everyone. But right now, playing killer is a chore. Because the game is so terribly unbalanced towards survivors.
4 random survivors may be balanced, but 70% of the matches are SWF. Devs need to balance around that.
That means buffs for killers and nerfs for survivors. That also means that they have to cut down on the toxic player base.
I would love it, if the survivor experience would give some nice jumpscares and the overall scarried feeling. Not the bully simulator we have right now.
I think they should just give in game voice chat that way they can just balance the game and not have to specifically balance for swf. That way the advantages of swf would be minimal because swf will always be better than 4 randos so I think they should just try to minimize that advantage as much as possible

Looping and DC'ing isnt a playstyle. It's utilizing broken mechanics and doing a bannable offense.

Being able to look left and right doesn’t help much when you’re face first repairing a gen. Tier 1 myers or pig can legit just go up behind someone or in front of them since the gen will block the survivors view ahead and either pull them off or at least get easy hits on them. Also the nurse would absolutely dominate everybody like she’s already pretty good at killing now and survivors have third person. First person it’d be just be destruction you’d have no way of knowing where she’s blinking so all the survivors would be running around like chickens with the heads cut off which would be pretty funny though I’m not gonna lie. Billy would just snipe everyone. Would it be scarier of course would it be balanced probably not it’d take a lot of changes.
Well, its a 4vs1 horror game. Killer should actually be strong while the survivors should be scared.
Survivors can stop doing gens and take a look around. Or cover each others blind spot by repairing facing each other. This would make weak killers a lot stronger. While considerably nerfing loops. Spine chill would be an excellent perk for this. Devs could even add different perks to play into this new experience.
Wait so are you justifying nurse being absolutely busted with the fact that survivors should be scared? Billy would be pretty op as well not as op of course but still op. Like I said there’d need to be a lot of changes all round. There’d need to be some nerfs for some killers and buffs for some things on the survivor end.
First person for survivor isn't the answer nor is that even a viable option. I agree.

You gloated that this was the worst match you have experience then boasted to all of the survivors they are hypocrites if they don't cater to a play-style that favors you.
You even bragged at them at the end of the match. ie What a sore winner would do.
And now you're playing victim on these forums relying on the perfect survivors argument to claim everything a killer does is pointless.
Weren't you the one who said yourself the game should be balanced around what each side has the potential in doing?

They did give up. You still have a chance with an unhook via self save. They didn't let the Killer enjoy the victory and get the Sacrifice points. This could still cost a Killer his pip, as it has in the old system. It's called being a sore loser.
You would have just downed them immediately after. Besides the odds of that happening are minimal.
They already lost when you slugged them. Complaining that a match didn't go the way you wanted it to, despite clearly being victorious, is the definition of being a sore winner.
That's an assumption that I wouldn't still give them a fair chance at the unhooks. I wouldn't stand there for a minute waiting for them to get to struggle state cause that's the only way to ensure they wouldn't hop off. As stated by many, I don't know how the others would have chased me so I likely still would have given chances. The moment they all 4 dc'd is the reveal of toxicity.
So they still give up? Earlier you derided me for supposedly giving up, but that's exactly what they did. Doesn't matter how minimal the chance is.
So you are essentially justifying a bannable offense because "they already lost," and don't call them sore losers? The match didnt fo the way I wanted because of several of my own mistakes. The survivors are unable to take the punishment they so graciously give out. You can > @Mc_Harty said:

I think this is the point we are both trying to make. Complaining to survivors and saying this is why you are hated is unlikely to provide any sort of change.Hopefully with enough evidence we can keep moving towards a more balanced system...the pallet changes are a step in the right direction. The removal of Ruin and a reduction in generator repair speed for survivors and the effectiveness of toolboxes would also contribute.
Right now Killer really is a challenge but I don't want it to become too easy because it takes away the satisfaction when you play well and comfortably pip or double pip.
No doubt, I don't want Killer to be a cakewalk, but if Survivors are going to get the ability to relax in their gameplay at high rank and win, the Killer should be able to do so and still win the game. That's all I'm saying at this point.
I like the opinions tossed around here. I wish the community could discuss things reasonably like this page or in the last one while still having differing opinions.
I'm hoping this forum will be a good start for community outreach @Runiver and I guess that's the difference between you and me. I'm still gonna be vocal about this stuff until it gets fixed even if it never does.
I don't think there's much left to discuss after this quote. I think this discussion ended well.
