I'm getting tired of getting stuck in games where survivors do the most BORING possible things to win. It's literally hold M1, hold W, throw down all the pallets, god loop us, rinse and repeat. It's unfun, it's a survivor sided game, it's time for everyone to acknowledge this. The ONLY time it's killer sided is early ranks. Stop saying otherwise. If a killer gets to red ranks, it's because they're good. If a survivor gets there, it's mostly because they are good at mundane tasks. Be objective before you say it's killer sided. Play killer long enough to realize it's really not...please.

I think April Fools day is on April 1st.

  • I sense much of this was completed as survivor seeing as I only managed about 6 killer lobbies in 2 days myself despite a number of hours sat waiting...

A noise indicator for a ready chainsaw frenzy and 100% movement speed (so he move at the same speed as survivors) when charging his chainsaw so he can actually keep up with survivors.
These two things would do a lot for little Leatherface.

Calm down Leatherface main! 100% movement would mean people would be revving around the map like Lewis Hamilton!

I said I wanted him buffed a little not turned into a demigod

  • I don't understand what you mean by a campy killer. That is defined by the person playing a killer not the killer itself. Admittedly he is the strongest choice if you are wanting to just camp but that shouldn't mean those of us that want to have fun should be unable to use him because he is weak.

  • and i have more many many more how about "i will stab you in chest with my erect shaft then transmit my prostate cancer strate into your body" i dont know what person of what age wrote this but WOW

    That is just priceless!

  • The trapper isn't weak...go watch Lefty a while or something. The only barrier is your mentality in this game these days.

  • solo survivor is unplayable

This is just laughable. Honestly people need to try adapting a little when killers are suddenly able to..you know.. kill.

  • I'm not some survivor's ######### to play party clown, I don't care about the game's health at all

Fine attitude you have there. And you completely missed the point of course.

  • I am hopeful that there will be some cosmetic rewards in the pipeline for devotion, perhaps devotion gains you a token you can exchange in the store for unique cosmetics.

It would be nice...but I won't hold my breath.

  • He is very weak if you aren't playing him to Insidious camp.

The main problem is that revving the saw slows him down. If he didn't slow when revving he would straight away be a bit more powerful and viable but at the moment if you start revving and the survivor spins around you lose the few metres you needed to catch them as you follow their path round.

Monitor and Abuse helps to get you closer before they know you are coming but once they know who you are even that is lost.

  • The point isn't whether or not camping is allowed or not allowed. It is clearly as allowed as any other strategy short of holding the game hostage.

The point is that anyone with half a brain cell realises that you are playing against other people who 9/10 want a cool gaming experience. You don't get a good gaming experience by being facecamped by a killer or hard camped and immediately tunneled off the hook. Killers like this are not any good at the game, won't ever be complimented and can expect people who are playing a game to (shock horror) have fun and get treated like shite to give them some mouth.

Good killers are not obsessed with 'winning' whatever that seems to mean or getting a 4k every game, but are interested in having a fun game for themselves and the survivors.

Weak and unskilled killers will carry on camping and tunneling, the top killers will carry on giving their survivors great games. Simple as that.

  • I have left my steam profile with you bud, add me when you get chance and I will talk you through some things :)

  • Here here!

Another gentleman player in the ranks. A guiding word can make a huge difference to the community as a whole!

  • Never had it happen and would think it was really funny if it did!

  • They could work on the distribution a little as sometimes they are clustered or routes to the basement are not spawning well with regards to other hook spots. A reduction in hooks would lead to horrible slug and sabo gameplay where neither side had any fun at all so I really can't support this idea.

If a killer has downed a survivor he should really be able to hook them...

For them game to be much fairer the killers need some pretty hefty nerfs. I have played as a high rank killer and find it way too easy.

Assume this is another troll post? No-one that has played high rank killer for any length of time would classify it as 'easy' so perhaps stump up some information about what killer and perks you are using so we can bask in your amazingness. As you find it so easy I guess you never use Ruin and only use Freddy and the Wraith to make it a little harder no?

I don't think killers are in that bad a spot at the moment really. I don't use Ruin or any of the 'top tier' killers and do well in most games without any need for camping or poor tactics.

You can dramatically up your enjoyment and success by learning some game sense and not convincing yourself from the start that you are going to get looped and then following through your own prophecy by chasing the same survivor around a bad spot for 3 gens. Sometimes it is enough to get them off task and apply pressure elsewhere.

Monitor and Abuse is an underated perk for a lot of killers, getting 8 metres closer before they realise you are near can be the difference between a hit before they get onto a loop and not. Survivors generally perform worse when injured because they know they are going down next hit.

your comment is basically uselss. you gave no tips. no help you just said you do well. also i said chasing other survivors doesnt work too well and everyone with common sense knows that. and yeah monitor is ok. you obviously havnt played against smart survivors. when you play and do well ask yourself this everytime you hit someone "did i do well or did they screw up" most of the time its because they screwed up unless you play the nurse or the hag and have a trap in a nice spot

I would be happy to give tips but didn't think it was the place to spew them out. If you are struggling feel free to PM me and I will help you out.

I have over 1500 hours and have played against all the types of survivors there are to play against so I would appreciate it if you avoided the silly ad hominum attacks that do nothing to further the discussion.

  • It will be tomorrow .... chill!

  • I think we can all talk about these perks from the perspective of one side or the other until we are blue in the face.

The fact of the matter is that Ruin, NOED, DS are band aid perks that have no place in the game once the correect balance has been found. I am not convinced they will ever find it myself but I hope to be proved wrong.

What is really needed is a way to balance the clock for the killer who currently feels like they are in a race against time from the moment the match starts. That generators can be completed to easily is not in doubt. What survivors need is a range of different objectives that are required to get the gates opened that requires more teamwork. Maybe it should be 4 generators, 2 battery cells and searching through random chests for part of the handle to activiate the door.

I for one get so bored in some games where the killer is chasing someone else and I have to do m1 simulator on 4 gens in a row. It needs changing up so that the survivors have more jobs to complete to escape and the killer therefore gains a little more time to catch and hook them. No Ruin needed to slow the gens, no NOED to use once the gens have been rushed through with 3 repair toolboxes and no DS to get a survivor out of jail free after being caught.

On the topic of other perks being chopped, Dying Light needs to go. The idea of a perk that encourages a killer to camp and tunnel down a target is absurd and I can't believe it is still in the game.

  • No thanks, Looping around jungle gyms and buildings is already strong enough without this being changed. A killer must still judge whether or not the lunge will connect or not (sometimes I am absolutely certain it will and I hit thin air).

Call me crazy but Territorial Imperative is incredibly underated and is my favourite perk playing leatherface especially. It works wonders for greedy survivors grabbing that basement chest early game and I KNOW IF YOU COME TO SAVE.

And as we know, saves are not allowed from the basement against Leatherface ... ever!

  • So many innapropriate jokes could be made. Nice try Sir but I shall not be biting today!

P.S Why not I mean they might as well!

  • The little number underneath that shows what level you have reached is very underwheling as well. It would be nice if they changed the badge itself as you rank up to make it loom steadily more cool.

  • I reckon I could sneak through that gap ahead of you! ;)

  • Already seen saves being made, just need to adjust the timing to compensate.

  • Because the holy totem is not to be greeded on.

  • I don't play for fun at all

I think this may be the root of the problem then, it is a game after all!

  • @Someissues said:
It would be extremely stupid not to camp since they can get off the hook and 4 escapes. So yes the current meta you must Camp as a Killer

    This simply isn't true.

I play a lot of killer at the top end of the ranks each season without the need of Ruin or NOED and do just fine. Yes there are some rough games when you face a SWF with all the gadgets but they can still be a lot of fun.

The sooner you stop focusing on a 'need' to pip and just have fun learning to chase and down the better you will become and the more fun you will have!

I love it when I get put in the same lobby as a toxic from the last game. Revenge can be sweet, especially if you made them rage in the first game

This what makes watching Lefty so fantastic sometimes, gets salt ---> blacklists survivors ---> straight into lobby with same guy --->kicks their butt :)

One day, I killed some random survivors.
Some guy left a message on my screenshots, and also commented on my review of the game (because he couldn't on my profile).
    So I deleted them.

The next day, I woke up, and I had 280+ steam notifications. The guy insulted me on every single of my screenshots. One different insult (or nearly) for each of them.
So I pressed "Ignore user" and it deleted all of them at once.

I still admire his effort to this day.

What on earth did you do to them!?

  • I don't think I would have written this in such an over the top caps lock aggressive way however I do think that something really needs to be done.

I have put a lot of time into sending reports with both video and screenshot evidence and although I get a very polite reply I see these players are not being dealt with. This basically makes me wonder why I am bothering at all.

  • It is as legitimate a tactic as bodyblocking as far as the current DS system goes.

In fact survivors can often get in on the act because you can tell when a killer is dribbling due to the highlighted survivor when they are dropped and rush in to stop them getting there!

  • I only say that @Krowplex because you gain points for hooking as well as sacrificing and you will also have gained substantial points in chaser if you managed to get 8 hookings as well. I have never achieved that many hookings and not black pipped with the new system.

This means for me this was either a bug that needs addressing or you did not hook them as much as you think you did (which I can frequently do in the heat of games)

The combined points of those areas alone and the fact that 8 hookings must also have netted you some points in Gatekeeper for slowing the game down (unless they all came after exit gate power) makes this hard to understand. I have had few problems with the new system and find ranking up fairly straight forward albeit a little longer at times due to black pips.

  • @Krowplex said:

I just played a match as The Doctor. I did a really good run. I didn't get any hook kills but I got everyone on the hook at least twice. I ended up with 25k bloodpoints, more than any survivor.

And guess what... I got 1/4 of a black pip... Yep. Almost nothing at all. I've in fact deranked.

I guess that's the price to pay for not camping someone on the hook... because let's be honest, If I did camp, I would have ranked up.

We're crying over killers who's camping but the devs are promoting camping in order to rank up... Something isn't right.

Have you got a screenshot of this? I am amazed you only got 1/4 of a black pip with 25k and had them all on dead on hook...in fact I find it hard to believe at all honestly.

  • You're looking mighty fine there Kate, might there be a Window of Opportunity for me to put an Ace in that Hole?

  • Obviously it is Claudette.

Why is Nea on the list Gid? Everyone knows she is nasty and dirty ;)

  • "Accept the challenge" when the challenge is objectively breaking the balance. The game is balanced around solo players, ask Mathieu Cote himself. Watch the Depip Squad win nearly 100 matches in a row because the Survivors goals are super easy on top of using SWF. Watch McLean even admit that SWF isnt balanced.

The whole depip squad thing is completely irrelevent though because they set out with the express purpose of depipping every killer. This was literally to the extent that they regularly left games and allowed one to die because they had calculated that the killer would depip if they did so. That isn't a normal game and actually SWF groups can be the total opposite much of the time and are so overly altruistic they end up hanging themselves.

This isnt true. Survivors always have the advantage. You shouldn't balance the game around the fact people are terrible, which is what BHVR does.

You have to try and balance the game around the playerbase that you have. Asymmetric games are notoriously difficult to balance and for this reason are almost never prime examples of highly competitive gameplay for this very reason.

It will be up to the playerbase to work towards having better games as much as some changes would be welcome to make it a little more balanced than it currently is.

  • Great post that makes complete sense and would genuinely result not just in games that were a bit longer but also more enjoyable for both sides

  • Balancing the game for the entire player base is an impossible job.

At the top end of the ranks the survivors have the advantage but at the lower end it is the killers.

I am sympathetic but I would rather be challenged as a killer at the top ranks and struggle sometimes to do well rather than know that people that struggle as survivior in the lower ranks are getting competely wrecked.

It is a tough one to sort out!

  • I will grant the hatch to a survivor if one of the following conditions is met:

    1. They played very fairly in the game and were genuinely the last one standing.
    2. One or more other survivors DC'd for whatever reason making the trial unfair for them.
    3. They made me laugh in the match.

Otherwise I will hook them up and take my points.

  • I have enough trouble keeping my breakfast down in the mornings games when I have to see Nea's face let alone David's crown jewels.

    Pass!

  • From a game today playing Iron Hag (no perks, add ons or offering)

    "Nice terror radius cheater. reported"
    "reported"
    "reported"

  • Hag is not on the same tier as Nurse whatever people on here may have said. I play Hag almost exclusively and she can certainly do things no other killer can do but Nurse is simply strongest in the right hands.

As mentioned above she is EXTREMELY vulnerable to being gen rushed because to play her effectively you simply must set 7-8 traps in good places so you can end chases quickly (not near gens so they trip all the time and are completely useless).

Even with both trap setting add ons the travelling around the map to set them will cost at least 2 gens and sometimes I have lost 3 with others being worked on. I won't run Ruin because it is so annoying for survivors.

I run NOED simply to gain some late game counter against real gen happy teams but often 1 hook can snowball very quickly if they are cocksure of themselves, especially if they trigger a trap under the hook.

What she really needs is an decrease to trap setting time. That is all, after that it is down to learning how to be very clever with trap placement.

My most favorite map offering when I play Doc: the Game!^^
Distressing, Unnerving presence, Overcharge, NC with Calm add on.
    Yay!

I think faced with this I would go to Narnia pretty quickly... :dizzy:

  • I wish for a lottery win and for Natalie Portman to be in my bed tomorrow morning having cooked me breakfast after confessing her undying love for me.

Shall we wager on who gets their wish first? ;)

  • I still don't see why they cannot simply implement a system where surviving with friends reduces the perks you can use.

    2 man = 3 perks
    3 man = 2 perks
    4 man = 1 perk

This would go a long way to help killers with organised teams like this. If I knew they could only have an exhaustion perk OR DS I would feel more comfortable rather than facing 3 DS's 3 Sprint Bursts and a Dead Hard

I mean, you killers keep asking for so many nerfs to the point where survivor won't even be viable anymore.

    Just saying.

How dare you suggest it Brady! We just want fairness! We want increased movement speed, the removal of all pallets and windows and of course generators need to take twice as long to complete too.

And if you should dare to try and take a hit when we are taking a survivor to the hook you explode and die instantly. Altruism is a sin.

    /sarcasmoff

  • There is no announcement about end times. I suspect it will go for another week or so taking on board the feedback and patching as we go along until the version we are left with is similar to that which then goes live.
