same can be said abt survivors genrushing into oblivion…

Depends on what genrush is for you.

If that's simple efficiency, then no.

  • If teammate is hiding at 0 hooks and I am on deathhook I most definitely will.

Take chases, team needs this sometimes.

  • @PetTheDoggo said:

Well, I think it's pretty funny. If player quit during the game for any reason other than IRL emergency, it's just sad. Learn to control yourself a little…

I personally try to wait to get someone out of the game at like 1-2 gens left, unless survivors really asked for it, or by accident…
Survivors who quit for tunneling, usually simply has fragile ego and their performance in the game did not back it up.

    It's not fragile ego.

It is just not fun to not be able to participate in a normal gameplay.

  • I play chase perks and I want them better.

I especially listed save the best for last and unbound. They were good back in the day, I loved using them.

  • We basically went from good perk after the buff to "never use it again".

10% was fine, it made difference - 7% doesn't really, most of the time.

  • @Mandy said:

Hey all, we are looking at this - finding which is the best way to do it.

I really hope compensation will be number based. I have thousand upon thousand of those offerings.

I've been waiting to use them when map rework comes - I never thought they will be retired.

I literally have 15 surviviors p100, that's why it would feel very unfair if recompensation wouldn't be based on number of offerings we own.

  • @ThatRyanB

Do we get recomensated for all the addons we lose? I literally have thousand upon thousand of each map and key addons you will retire with 12 surviviors p100 and everyone else p11-25.
The change just doesn't feel right or fair, because we lose so much BP we spent on it.

Also, can we have a toggle to hide those retired addons?

  • Will we get compensated for the addons that we will lose?

    image.png
  • TL;DR but I will say, that yday I played bubba against 4 finesse - I was so unlucky. On mothers dwelling aswell, hard map.

    But fortunetely I won!

  • I hope we could get some additional anniversary days :(

  • So kaneki is not getting nerfed?

  • Honestly, I love killer not walking. I don't need to press shift, which is annoying.

because the majority that everyone is looking at is the low mmr players not the high ones. At high mmr the only killers you’ll be facing is nurse, blight, and Billy. Wanna know why? Bc they’re the top three that can actually compete at that level. Any other killer 9/10 you are going to loose.

Don't agree. I face mostly ghoul, blight and nurse. I WANT MORE BILLIES.

Edit: Also a lot of vecna's now!

  • No. I am facing only those killers and Springtrap. I definitely know more about my experience then you do.

  • I just want to know how many presets we will have! 5 would be cool, 7 would be perfect!

Wonder if thats just perk or also skins - would be cool if we got both.

The biggest QoL thing I want to know is p100 reward.
    Hopefully that's a skin! I have already 11x p100 and 4x p85 so I am really looking forward to it! (that's a lot, I know)

Killer queues are longer because we just got a killer only chapter that brought in tens of thousands of players. Those queues are already starting to even out. I've had killer queue bonus every evening this week from 9pm on, and the longest queue I've seen in the last couple of days was three minutes or so.

Your region may be different then others, keep it in mind.

You're always defending the killer side. Stop it, survivior problems are important.

  • @AlreadyTracer said:

Top killers can't be nerfed without nerfing the things top teams use to beat them, which would have catastrophic effects on the playerbase as a whole. You think survivor feels bad now? Imagine everything you hate about the role but 10x worse now because you wanted to nerf killers that are rare to face to begin with.

Moreover, Nurse and Blight are so disproportionately strong because they have actual map pressure and time efficiency baked into their kits. Other killers do not, and that's the root of the problem. No matter how much you buff certain killers, they won't ever be good because their powers don't fit into the game correctly. The only killer not commonly considered S tier that could compete with Nurse/Blight levels of viability is Hag, but she's more map dependent and therefore less consistent than those two.

Variety in dbd exists because "high MMR" is really just a soft cap that everyone and their mother reached when it was added to the game to begin with, so everyone is technically the same rank and there's no matchmaking. I don't care how good you say you are, no one is facing constant cracked Nurses or SWF teams. This game simply doesn't have the matchmaking for that to happen. That's why you see such long winstreaks and high killrates from good killers. I can count on one hand the number of times I've faced a good team in the past two YEARS. It's rare, because this game has a large playerbase and there's nothing to make good players face other good players.

TLDR: Nerfing strong killers is a waste of time because it will only hurt player numbers, buffing weak killers is a waste of time because it'll never make them strong unless you break something big, and no one is actually affected by this so-called "lack of variety" because there's no matchmaking system to speak of.

What do you mean "no one is affected by lack of variety"?

I was affected by it for a long time! I am facing blights, nurses, kanekis, weskers only!

    You're being a fool now.

just to correct some misinformation there - whilst data on addons tells us what is preferred there's a bit more to it than "it's used a lot therefore needs a nerf" you have to take into consideration the kill rate with that addon used, and compare it to other addons used with it. What we're seeing with this particular addon is that it increased kill rates by a pretty high percentage, more than 6% which does show that there's likely some issue with it. So whilst you might feel the effect is mediocre, the reality is that something is more problematic than it appears at first glance.

Nice! What about blight and nurse then? Don't some addons perform better? (speeds blight, mangled nurse)

  • Remote pallet breaking has to go next year. That's for sure.

Tho I don't understand why they nerfed cake gain - I would get 70-80 cakes on a killers per prestige last year. Today it's 40-50 cakes :(

people may not appreciate the Toba loops, but at least Toba doesn't do anything horrifically offensive. really is fair when you compare them to dnd, cornwind and Haddonfield

Agree. Main loop has 2 great pallets, definitely better then most main building we have on other maps, realms.

I got coldwind 2 days ago, don't remember which one was that - house probably.

It felt terrible. Only "new" loops, 2 terrible fillers and 1 TL-wall, which farms have the worst.

Doing 1 minute chase felt like forever.

  • I could agree it's worst in case of cake gain.
In comparison we would get last year 70-80 cakes per prestige, now it's 45-50 if you're lucky.

  • Breaking pallet is the most OP thing in the event. You can zone a survivior and get guaranteed hit.

  • Agree! Surviviors are only skins at this point.

    Could work for killers too!

  • @TimberGoingDown said:

If you implement these ideas, survivor queues will jump to about 20 minutes.

Not really. Dev's will make sure to buff killers that feel left behind.

I feel like if m1's will suffer, they will finally have real reason to buff them.

I think making survivior experience better will push them into making the killer roster more equal.

I don't think SWF has any right to complain, but I would definetly welcome some buffs focused on soloQ QoL.

Not every swf plays sweaty or good even. I am lately playing a lot with a friend who is mom and has full-time job. As you could think, she isn't very good and she is just being tunneled every match, because she is a good 2-tap material.

It's automatic lose for everyone else, which isn't great thing.

SWF give you options, you can talk about builds, you can make call outs, you can simply gather decent players who will not DC on you.

If you use those tools or not is on you, but for most things you have the option. I don't believe every SWF is making clock system call outs.

Escape rate was not that much higher, but it was definetly higher. Thing is SWF are simply more altrustic and will often throw games to help, so kinda double edged sword. I would like to see average gen completion instead of just escapes.

    -We need the visuals improved

    sure, not a balancing change

Current event gives survivors nothing on the caliber of remote hook/remote pallet break

It's not like we never had survivor sided events… and this is also last year of this one

We are only JUST recieving a new item 9 years in

Well, you are recieving one, so I fail to see the issue. It's not like every killer get changed regularly…

every new perk concept barely gets any love/meaningful new additions

I would say killers have it same or worse, so fail to see how it is connected to survivors, or you mean in general?

every event is ruined by some stupid killer combo allowed

Well, not all games are full SWF and not all games are abusing killer. If you want to use that as argument, then both are valid. Is it an issue, if it's not majority or not?

    MMR is encouraging terrible playstyles

Not really, it's not something you see, it only makes you games worse. I see MMR more as a punishment than reward…

Idk saying one set of players can't have an opinion is an awful take.

They are free to have opinion, but they have options soloQ doesn't, so if they lose, it's kinda skill issue imo.
I have no issue with them to argue about specific killer, perk, or addon.

But I simply think current SWF vs killers balance does not need change. I would say soloQ does and few specific killers.

For 10k hours I've never done "build talking" different then "just take DS".

So tell us now, what bhvr can do to improve soloQ survivior experience, without touching the swfs

Instead of arguing and trying to nullify someones opinion, listening is okay too. A lot of this is why I don't play as much right now and my friends.

It's not about justifying you as killer, you're playing lots and are happy. You're just trying to say people's opinions aren't valid.

My points aren't necessarily aimed at you but in reference to the thread in general as to why survivors are playing less. I personally want to play more killer but as OP states, EU killer queue times are annoying when I have time to play. We seem to be more aware than the other regions over the state of the current balance.

We do seem more aware, I agree.

The thing is, playing dbd in other regions feels different.

It's not game balance. Playing survivor is just getting really boring. The base moveset hasn't changed for years, and perks are more balanced than they used to be. So they're less impactful, meaning they're less interesting to use.

Learning counterplay to new killers isn't enough to keep survivor feeling fresh. Especially when new killers have similar powers to others that already exist.

The survivor role needs something new added to it. Some sort of basekit mechanic that adds an additional layer to gameplay. Something that a whole new wave of perks could be built around. The perk pool has gotten to big for a game that has so few basekit mechanics.

That's what I always think when I am watching US content creators, streamers mostly. People are chill, even people names are somewhat funny, pregame lobby is positive etc, when in europe all we do is saying perks like deli, stb etc.
Sometimes you even get hate messages like "sable leave or you die" which is so fk'ed up.

You made some good point. It is very repetitive, I agree.
I am queuing up for a match against kanekis and blights most of the time, everything seems the same as a match or few matches before. Same old tunneling, sometimes slugging.
Seeing blight coming back to hook area after the unhook feels normal now. Even S-tiers tunnel out at 5.

Me and friends just find ourself saying "maybe next game will be better" more and more lately and we just keep going, because overall we love the game.

Adding the ghoul and animatronic really didn't bring anything new to survivior gameplay, other than perk changes I feel.
It's especially bad with kaneki, which didn't have much counterplay at day 1 and all surviviors could do was just trying to do gens quickly enough.

Ok, where did you get that data? There is some page for tracking queue times?

    there is - called deadbyqueue

  • @VibranToucan said:

DBD is the hardest for killers it has been in years. If we look at nightlight killrates, besides maybe Vecna, killrates are down. 10 killers currently have a killrate of below 50%. And this is not just against SWFs, it also counts soloqueue and people going afk and giving up and sabotaging their team and etc.... And it all averages out to under 50%.

The reason so many killers tryhard so much is that, if you get even a decent team odds are you are going to lose. And you need to counteract that. You can't wait until you have one hook at 3 gens, by then they already have too big of an advantage.

Nerfing killer would just make the issue worse and force people to pick stronger killers and try hard even more.

Its impossible to nerf tunneling and slugging only if it's unnecessary. It would also hit situations where it's legit meaning more changes would need to be made.

A tunneling nerf would require some sort of basket reward to make up for it. Something like Basekit thrilling tremors, but only if all Survivors are still alive.

Nerfing Slugging would require a nerf to flashlight, sabotage, boil over, flip flop power struggle etc... These strategies are currently weak, but a big part of why is that you can just leave the Survivor on the ground.

When did you start playing? It definitely isn't the hardest :P I remember old times, we are not even close to this.

  • I just wish there was more fun in game for people who just come to enjoy their time with friends.

Coming back to home after work, having full time job and playing dbd feels bad sometimes. I have friends that can't really play as much as I do and they cannot do anything, feel powerless. It makes the experience so bad

I was wondering about the killer ban, because jesus I hate Knight so much, despite he's quite weak. I find no fun or interaction in either hold w 30s against bot or getting sandwiched by bot and Knight to the point where you just get hit or downed no matter what. At least with the 3x debbufer to guard despawn if Knight is close you don't get two tapped as much anymore.

On the other hand, this would make Kaneki, Nurse (strongest) or Knight, Trickster (most boring to verse) wait forever in queues, which is not fair imo.

Yeah, I agree that knight could be quite annoying.

Yesterday I had miserable match against knight. I had one friend that didnt know how to play against him, she wasn't experienced much (mom of a 2y.o kid, full-time job. How dare she play dbd, right?). We lost it, even tho it was swf.

  • I really hope they will make survivior experience better.

I kinda play for cakes now, even after going against kaneki, after kaneki, after blight, kaneki, blight, nurse, blight, kaneki… etc.

    EHHH!

The problem is, instead of the after hook heal taking 16 seconds, it takes 6. Less, if they have Resurgence.

How dare surviviors to have a chance against a spirit? Right?

  • I know that queue times may be different in different zones of the world - I am mostly talking about europe - germany, Ireland, UK..

Now, at almost 10 AM europe time:

Surviviors have average 6-12s queue time in both normal and event mode.

Killers average 6:30-7:00 minutes in normal mode in Germany, Ireland. UK is turned off.
    8:00-8:15 in event mode.

    image.png

USA has literally the best queue times for both sides as right now. They are both really quick. IN NORMAL MODE:

    image.png

In event mode, for comparison we have:

    image.png

Maybe that means killers are being too strong on event mode? Numbers kinda say it.

  • I already prestiged 20 lvls on my low lvl chars - I am averaging 24 cakes per prestige. That's kinda bad.

5 prestiges I was spending BP manually, I averaged 54% less cakes in comparison to bulk bloodpoint spending system.

Getting 9-12 cakes on average after spending 1 million BP on p100. The rate is just terrible compared to last years :(

I don't. I also play survivors and I haven't seen any of those killers picked. I see Singularity far more often than these killers even though it is much harder to play as.

As for free hits - Legion exists. I don't see people asking for a nerf when it's much easier to get free hit with legion than ghoul.

Legion has counterplays to his power.

I mean, they can make things more appealing by not cranking things up to 11. The Sabo changes are by far the most atrocious and unhealthy thing you listed, of which still just has no counterplay other than drop them and don't get a hook.

Besides, this isn't about why medkits are the best item, this is about why buffing them indirectly is a terrible idea via an already very strong perk before.

Not issue - there are hooks all around you.

If you see survivior running with toolbox for example at 12 (north) you can go 3, 6, 9 (south, west, east)

  • Finally this topic gets some recognition. I was vocal about this a while back, but didnt catch enough people to talk abou it.

We definitely need to fix things that CAUSE people to give up, instead of punishing them (which we do now).

    We need:

    • Anti tunnel mechanic being done properly
    • Anti slug to be better, because "you can dc when you're slugged" is just not it
    • Better anti-camping mechanic, because people still do it, but it's not on face, it's called proxy-camping now
    • Killer prevention system - which doesn't let you play against same killer twice in a row
    • Killer ban system - with 40 killers in game we could ban 3 of them.
This system would be a great information system aswell, if majority of plalyerbase are banning blight then this killer needs to be looked at, adjusted.
    • proper MMR system, because a player with 500 hours shouldn't be put into same lobbies with 10k hours players

I hope the devs see the discussion and take action based on what people say here, we make some good points here.

  • Another big problem is that problematic killers exist and despite of giving developers continous negative feedback on them, they are kept untouched (nurse, blight, kaneki, singularity).

    Nurse needs nerfs, no doubt.
Blight even after nerfing his addons, removing hug-tech he is still S-tier lobby stomper (even swfs).
Kaneki has too good of the mobility, free hits, is extremely easy to perform well on him.
Singularity burns through resources too quickly and needs number adjustment (longer animation on power, longer vault speed, less easy/free hits).

And that's just some of the killers, most problematic.

And then we have pig, doctor, trapper, dredge, unknown and multiple other killers who can't compete with them at all.

I really wish they will act on our feedback before it's too late. We love the game in general and put a lot of our time and money in it.

  • Well, my play time decreased from 50-60 hours weekly to 15-20. Note: I have 10k hours overall.

I am more of a survivior player, because I play where queue times are good.

Queues used to be good for survivior until 8pm (europe time) and then would be fast killer queue between 8pm to 1-3am.
Now we only have survivior queues to find the games quickly. This indicates that people are giving up on survivior role.

Killer games became easier and easier. On top of that, new killers become stronger and stronger, with a lot of powers in their kit.

How is it fair to winning so many matches as a killer? Take me as an example. I am playing mostly survivior and yet I am able to maintain 70-81% killrate on all my killers, after 30/40 hours put into them! Even on the trapper I have 70.12% killrate! After playing him for 55 hours. That's ridiculous.

    image.png image.png image.png
  • Map offering feedback: 20% is just not it. I tried them with my friend and we never got value out of offerings.

I really believe at this point we should just retire the map offerings.

They became clutter that we need to spend bloodpoints on, while we could be getting something better.

These two perks (as well as Batteries Included) saw their Haste values buffed alongside Steady Pulse, and what we saw over the last update cycle was that in cases where they were used, the increased speed burst they gave was a little too powerful for how easy they were to trigger. We've returned them to their pre-Steady Pulse Haste values, but are always keeping an eye on the performance of perks like this (and player feedback!) to consider future adjustments.

So they will not even be considered now.

You gave us something good and you took it away not even a month later.

The numbers were good. Now they are decent but not worth consideration.

Now we are just back to anti-tunnel and gen regression perks.

We really need to be buffing those chase perks to give players more choices.

While tunneling might be unfun its just not true that it is not needed for high level play. Look at DbD league professional tournaments. In most matches the killers tunnel and camp the first one they down. Its what in most matches gives them the win. Do they sometimes dont do it? Sure but most of the time that is exactly what they do. Get first kill as soon as possible and then go for the rest or 3 gen.

None of us forum players ever played or will play tournaments.
