Which killer would you rather go against?
I like all three, but Nurse is my favorite to outplay as she's my main. I suppose it'd be Ghoul and then Blight after because Blight players tend to slow down the game more
-
Literally everyone is at max mmr, and as a result there effectively is no matchmaking
-
Nurse and Blight. Blight needs less power and more gimmicks, while Nurse needs some add-ons that actually do something beyond looking pretty on the HUD. I don't see an issue with stronger Nurse add-ons if they come with a downside. Faster Blink recharge could have the downside of longer fatigue, for example. Hell, an Iridescent that removes the cooldown entirely for a set 4-5 second fatigue would be great.
I also wanna see more creativity with Nurse. Add-ons don't have to be straight buffs, they can also change the kit and make it different. For Nurse's other iridescent, she should have three Blinks that go a set 11 meters. The Blinks would be much faster, but you wouldn't be able to control where you end up. Basically, you get Tracer Nurse that allows for more mindgames without really changing her overall power level.
I do think every killer could use addon changes though, I don't actually like very many of them

I have seen a YouTube video from a well known player that lost to Hyperfocus and guessed that the survivors were cheating. I also saw a Spirit player lose their win streak to Hyperfocus, then assume the survivors were cheating. So the Spirit player chose not to end their streak, because they assumed the survivors were cheating. It seems like this perk causes unstoppable generator repairs when great skills checks are obtained. In other words, Hyperfocus seems to cause unwinnable matches for killers. Is this supposed to be the intended purpose?
Honestly, HF is a decent perk if you're good at the game. But even hitting almost all of the skill checks (no, you do not have to cheat to do this) isn't giving a HUGE boost to gen progression.
I remember my doubts when the perk first released but honestly it's one of my favorites now. High skill, medium impact that feels good but not oppressive.

I know I saw also other "baits", like going through killer cuz there is no collision, making killer think survivor goes in some other direction when it's not so. Can you list all "baits" survivors can use and how they look for third party observer? You do address someone's mistake not the situation letting it to happen. We do not discuss such problem here as I see.
You can actively watch out for and not fall for any of those mindgames lmfao, doing so is the entire point of dbd

Post a screenshot of your highest killrate, you can post either a lifetime or a last 30 days, but if you post last 30 days make sure the killer has at least 50 games, as I feel above 50 games played is a good judgement of consistency in maintaining your killrate.
Here is mine 😊I don't play enough to have 50 games lol

This isn't a horror game and you shouldn't be swinging at obvious bait

I personally wont keep quiet until he is fixed so he isn't miserable to verse.Ken is fine, all of you are just showing how horrid you are at looping. If you struggle against this killer it's literally just because you were crutching on that W key against everyone else
-
It makes me happy that people are around to remember that. So many veterans have all but quit at this point, myself included. I just hopped on yesterday after a solid month of not playing, only to discover this weird sensitivity bug that literally makes it impossible to move your camera correctly. It's like this weird false mouse acceleration that ranges from normal sens to having to use THREE arm motions to make a single turn when it used to be a snap of the wrist. Just pathetic, honestly. BHVR shouldn't be making such drastic mistakes.

So when Ghoul came out, I immediately got him to prestige 6. I love Tokyo Ghoul. It was one of the first anime I watched and have quite a few a good chunk of the manga as well. Kaneki for a long time, was also one of my favorite protagonist so seeing him in Dead by Daylight and being able to play as him is a dream come true.
At first, I had no problem playing him even after the widespread hate against him, and being considered an unfair killer. For a good bit, I haven't touched him because I do feel a bit guilty given how unfun he is to play against, but I do want to play him.
On the one hand, I do know someone will probably tell me I should do what I want. Its a character I love and want to play, plus I obviously paid for them, but on the other hand I'll be told I shouldn't touch the character at all. That I should wait for the next set if adjustments before playing again.
Play who you want. Kaneki isn't even particularly unfun to face, and he's certainly not unfair. Survivor players are just used to being able to get the same value holding one button as they would learning how to actually loop, and Kaneki punishes them for it.
Three or four years ago, Kaneki wouldn't have had nearly as many complaints because the survivors were way better at the game and actually wanted to loop. It's just because so many veterans left and the game has been made easier for the new players taking their place.

Based on your responses, you are clearly someone who doesn't play Nurse, so I don't know why you're even trying to argue if you think she's hard to play or not. Bottom line is, Nurse has a simple power. Blink. There's no fancy techs like Blight, Wesker, Ghoul, etc. This means her ceiling is not as high as other killers. Her skill floor is definitely higher than most of your average killers because you NEED to blink to do anything which is different to other killers, but due to the lack of techs, her skill ceiling doesn't reach as high. This does NOT mean she isn't as strong as the other killers with higher ceilings, but she is simply easier to be good with.
Also using the Google AI as evidence for your claim is so funny lmao
Nurse's skill ceiling isn't much lower than any of those killers because none of those techs are actually difficult to do. Moreover, Nurse's skill ceiling revolves around actual mindgames, and that's game sense. Compared to techs, which are mechanical, and therefore less skillful. The only real case you have is Blight, and he's not weaker than her.
And while I'm not a fan of using AI to argue for you, LLMs do source their information from multiple parts of the Internet. That means that it'll probably spit out the most common take on the subject, which in this case is that Nurse is the hardest killer.
Either way, it really doesn't matter because nothing in this game is particularly hard anyways. It's a casual game and the discussion of skill floors/ceilings is useless

the ads spam problem was on getting out of ads to fast (cancelling aim), im saying he could wind up the aim faster and have a personalized sensitivity while aiming, right now since we dont have this accesibility people are just using more DPI in mouse, like blight players do to curve more
No, it was both. He could do both instantly and that was the problem. I'm fine with a slider but no instashot. That was removed for a reason.

Again the point is it CAN happen and you're conveniently ignoring the main point that Legion has to run up to you and get in M1 range for their free hit
Not like Kaneki catapulting himself and then immediately latching onto you with their stupid easy hitscan.
Also I'm not saying he's OP, just incredibly frustrating and too much reward for little effort.
As Legion can chain hits, unlike Kaneki. That's a tradeoff.
There's nothing wrong with strong and easy killers. This isn't a competitive game and the hardest things in it aren't particularly hard by a competitive game's standards. For instance, compare Nurse's skill ceiling to Tracer's. COMPLETELY different level, like not even close.
There's not really such a thing as too much reward for too little effort in dbd, especially not since the survivor objective is progressed by holding down one button for a while.
-
No one is whiffing or getting stunned out of a frenzy hit, bffr
Is it easy to hit Kaneki's power? Yes. It's MEANT to be. That doesn't make him overpowered, it makes him easy.

Really not gonna acknowledge the incredibly generous hitscan attack that holds survivors in place?
Not gonna acknowledge how this hitscan attack can immediately be used on people off hooks to disable most of their anti-tunnel perks while also buffing Ghoul's power by giving him his enrage tokens?
Or the fact that cancelling power mid leap let's Ghoul almost immediately M1 after closing in.
Or the whole vaulting over pallets which also applies 50% hindered for some reason, or the overtuned built in bamboozle addon
Or the fact his mobility is on par with Nurse/Blight's and isn't balanced the same way as the other dash/teleport Killers are
"Slightly better chase than m1 killers" Yeah right. Understatement of the century there.
Legion gets just as free of a hit, and unlike Kaneki, he can *chain* them. If you're not ok playing injured, you were never good at survivor to begin with

Thats like saying that a Cat is similar to a blue whale because both are mammals.

Doesn't promote interesting gameplay, doesn't allow either side to even remotely attempt any sort of outplay. All Kaneki does is use his power to IMMEDIATELY be upon you and there's nothing you can do to outplay or loop or prevent yourself from immediately dying. He has too short of a cooldown, too much map mobility, is not outplayed by windows OR pallets OR distance. Decrease his lunge distance, remove his ability to place mend survivors, decrease his speed to 110%, make the time frame where he cannot take action after a lunge longer and for the love of all that is holy, increase his power cooldown to actually make a difference.
He's better Legion lmfao and not even a top 5 killer

You do know you can do some remapping right? I don't believe you can separate locker and window vaults but you can avoid the trying to heal accidentally drop a pallet mess.
What I did on console was bound actions to L2. So gens would be holding L2, pallets would be R1. Completely fixed that problem. The locker vault one is the only problem I ever really had.
On PC I haven't had any double binding issues despite only rebinding my activate power thing to E

@Reinami said:
The first chase of the match basically dictates how that match will go. If a survivor can last until 2 gens are done, then the survivors are probably going to win. If the survivor does poorly and goes down too quickly, the game is basically over at that point for the survivors, because coming back with no gens done and only 1 person able to do gens (1 on hook, 1 in chase, 1 going for the save) is extremely difficult unless you are an organized SWF.
While it is possible to come back from it in either case, the point is that, the result of the first chase basically makes the game a massive uphill battle for the side that does badly in it. This is why survivors "go next" so often, and why the game feels so stressful as killer. Why bother playing out a match, when someone went down in 10 seconds and no progress has been made on gens? Why bother playing out a match, when the first chase the survivor guesses right a couple of times and mindgames a couple of pallets successfully and 3 gens pop right as you get your down?
Something should be done to smooth out the state of the game so its not just all instant snowball at the sign of one thing going wrong for one side or the other.
Not really. Leave the chase if it's taking too long on killer, and don't get downed in two seconds on survivor.

What do you mean "no one is affected by lack of variety"?
I was affected by it for a long time! I am facing blights, nurses, kanekis, weskers only!
You're being a fool now.
BS, no you're not. You're facing Kaneki and Springtrap more only because they're new
-
Top killers can't be nerfed without nerfing the things top teams use to beat them, which would have catastrophic effects on the playerbase as a whole. You think survivor feels bad now? Imagine everything you hate about the role but 10x worse now because you wanted to nerf killers that are rare to face to begin with.
Moreover, Nurse and Blight are so disproportionately strong because they have actual map pressure and time efficiency baked into their kits. Other killers do not, and that's the root of the problem. No matter how much you buff certain killers, they won't ever be good because their powers don't fit into the game correctly. The only killer not commonly considered S tier that could compete with Nurse/Blight levels of viability is Hag, but she's more map dependent and therefore less consistent than those two.
Variety in dbd exists because "high MMR" is really just a soft cap that everyone and their mother reached when it was added to the game to begin with, so everyone is technically the same rank and there's no matchmaking. I don't care how good you say you are, no one is facing constant cracked Nurses or SWF teams. This game simply doesn't have the matchmaking for that to happen. That's why you see such long winstreaks and high killrates from good killers. I can count on one hand the number of times I've faced a good team in the past two YEARS. It's rare, because this game has a large playerbase and there's nothing to make good players face other good players.
TLDR: Nerfing strong killers is a waste of time because it will only hurt player numbers, buffing weak killers is a waste of time because it'll never make them strong unless you break something big, and no one is actually affected by this so-called "lack of variety" because there's no matchmaking system to speak of.

pretty much as the question says. Why are so many people stressed or “nervous” or even “scared” of playing killer?
I've been playing dbd a lot lately. I’ve returned after a year and I’ve been having a blast with all the new killers since Vecna, particularly Kaneki and Springtrap.Likewise been having a good time playing Survivor with the new perks and cosmetics like Geralt etc with friends.
one thing I’ve noticed though, with my friend group and people I’ve talked to on DBD, or watching people play killer on YouTube, twitch etc and talking to people through the chats etc or seeing conversations, a lot of people don’t want to play killer.
I used to be an almost killer main before the hiatus and I think I had really high mmr at the time since my god the games were sweaty. I actually don’t know if MMR decays because even though it’s been a year, and my rust has been RUSTING, I’m getting really sweaty games that feel like games before I left.
Now that has been stressful I’m not going to lie. Trying to get back to where i used to be, especially playing so many new killers with new perks etc has been a total trial by fire with the games I’ve been getting.
I’ve been asking my friends to play killer and they’re so QUICK to say things like “absolutely not”. That from seeing my games as killer which yeah, as I’ve said they haven’t been pretty sometimes that playing killer freaks them out.
They enjoy watching killer play, like me in the discord while they’re eating etc but playing killer is a big no no. That’s a viewpoint I’ve been seeing from a lot of people.
killer can be really fun! Honestly it’s more fun than survivor I think since every character is different etc. Not that I don’t love playing survivor as well, especially lately I’ve found a real balance of playtime.
I feel like a lot of people just have this fear of playing killer and I find it very interesting hearing why they feel that way. It's a solo role, that's why. Personally, I don't really get anxious at all, I'm too experienced now. But I used to.

Had a game just now against a sweaty four-man with flashlights and medkits, and I was kicking the absolute CRAP out of them. Was running Freddy with the paint brush and Franklin's/Weave and got a strange disconnection error (my internet was fine, and there were things wrong with the endgame afterwards) right after smacking a flashlight out of Sable's hand (or was it Mikayla?) seconds after she went back for it.
I wonder if they thought it'd be okay to do if they thought I was cheating, too (I would've absolutely believed that I was cheating if I were them the way I was playing; combination of dumb luck and info on basically the entire map had me looking like the best DBD player in all of history - but the occasional game like that does happen).
While we're on the subject, new Freddy is stronger than I expected. Teleporting to healing survivors is borderline-OP, honestly, and that Paint Brush iri is definitely OP. Running Franklin's/Weave/NOED/Bamboozle with Paint Brush and Pill Bottle turns him into a ######### beast.
Yes, they can. I've seen it happen before. I'm pretty sure they can also mark your account to guaranteed face you again, as I faced the same team of cheaters twice in a row during peak times…the chances of that happening naturally are next to none.

My best guess is that there is potential for different power skins, I don't believe Kaneki could get a skin for his power since well from what I understand of the anime is that his power doesn't change from ghoul to ghoul. There was initially a lot of backlash about the killer power skins, mainly because the power skins had to be used with certain cosmetics on top of already costing 3000 auric cells. They might add new power skins in the future but for licensed killers that will mean dealing with license holders again.
Kaneki definitely could. There are four different types of Kagune, and he already has a skin for another Ghoul.
In Tokyo Ghoul, there are Rinkaku, Bikaku, Ukaku, and Koukaku type Kagune, each released from a different body part. We could have Tsukiyama for the Koukaku type, where he'd be stabbing his Kagune and launching himself to it. Nishiki for Bikaku, with his tail wrapping around the object and launching himself to it. Ukaku probably wouldn't work.

No need to explain how horrifically bad the new patch has been for survivor, but I really think this could be the start of a very bad series of events for dbd.
Survivors are already getting fed up with the new changes and are either just taking breaks or switching to killer. Killer queues are longer than they've been since I've started playing dbd in late 2019. Obviously the fnaf chapter has a part in this but with an influx of survivors switching to killer until they make the survivor experience more enjoyable the killer queues are going to be inflated more.
It really seems that unless the devs do something major that dbd is headed straight on a collision course to become a dead game. If there's no survivors to face, then killers are going to be SOL. Hope the QoL phase two contains more quality than what's been released so far.

Just because it's popular with kids doesn't mean it's a kid's game. It's very bog standard indie horror, but it's not for kids, especially when you get into the lore of Springtrap himself. His backstory is vile and would give a lot of kids nightmares. Back in the day it was popular with TEENAGERS more than anything, and those teens are now adults who are going to be very excited about their favorite horror icon being in DBD. So let's be respectful, ey?
His backstory isn't in the actual game. It's for kids.

The post is about kicking gens a few times and then be forced to allow gens to be completed.
It also draws a similarity to survivors healing and if they couldn't heal which would also stop 3 gen standoff.

It's funny how it makes sense in my head that a killer's winrate should be around 50% because that's precisely the idea of game balance (you win some, you lose others). But this game is so easy for killers that tunneling and camping give you the upper hand, meaning it significantly increases your winrate. That means the user, far from dominating a killer, simply means your basic strategy allows you to win every match.
It would be interesting to see real statistics from people who have mastered a killer, users who don't need to camp and tunnel to win. But this game has so many factors and variants that it's impossible (a useless MMR that matches you with anyone and not necessarily someone of your skill level; get matched against SWF or soloQ; until recently, map offerings that benefited one side or the other; the ability to camp and tunnel because anti-camping is useless; extremely competitive users who play their tournaments in every match and only seek to win, not make the game experience entertaining for the rest of the users; and even abusive mechanics supported by the game system itself).
It's curious how you show that, without camping and tunneling, the killer can have a balance; but since tunneling and camping (among other things) are part of DBD, win rates skyrocket without needing to master the power of a killer.
BTW, my win rate is 54%. I don't camp or tunnel either because I believe everyone has the right to enjoy the match. And sometimes I "win" and other times I "lose" (depending on how each person considers winning or losing).
TBH, I wouldn't be surprised if this is part of the sellout. People who buy a killer want their money's worth, and this translates to: "I paid for this, I'm not winning games, and that bothers me because I already paid for it and should be winning with it". People no longer want or care about mastering a killer. Unfortunately, there's just consumerism (how many people buy DLC to complete achievements or obtain perks and never touch the character again?).
I sincerely doubt this will change; win rates will remain high for those who camp and tunnel. It's already been proven that the "anti" mechanics they introduce are useless, and it would make sense for them to fail for monetary reasons.
The game will always need more killers than survivors just because of the sheer number of players... so the game will always look for them to have the best experience and tools to win despite their lack of dominance of the character's power.
That's a lot of paragraphs for someone who's completely wrong. Any veteran killer will have a good killrate on anyone they play consistently because this game doesn't have matchmaking.

Like my best killrate is on wraith (80%) bc he is better than most at the hatch game. But even with him i lose them a lot.
It would be great if we get the amount of merciless, ruthless killer, bc for me both is a win.
I agree. I'd prefer it if it had a calculated winrate, because like 70% of the time the last survivor escapes by hatch for me. It makes it hard to increase the killrate

Just don't buy the killer lmao
I'm going to for perks. Doesn't mean I'm happy he's in the game.

fnaf wasn't for kids in 2014
gta is all the rage with kids now does that mean gta released as a game for kids?
Yeah it was. Unlike GTA, it's actually meant for them. You're not a bad parent if you let your 10 year old play FNAF. You are if you let them play GTA.

You had me right up until you insulted my teenage years ;-;
Sorry, but I'm not particularly thrilled to see a character on my ten year old brother's tshirt in my game. I don't mind the gameplay loop, but I do mind the franchise being for kids and the characters all looking straight up stupid.
I'm not even a horror elitist. I've never even considered dbd a horror game. I just want the killers to look somewhat good, and Springtrap + all of his skins simply don't.
I was against FNAF being in the game for as long as I've known people were asking for it. So...2020? 2019? I've been against the franchise for longer than most of y'all have even been playing the game, specifically because I knew I'd have the problems I do now with it. It didn't take a genius to see.

Some of the more recent killers, like Unknown, Vecna and even Ghoul are actually pretty unique. Springtrap was definitely a case of the devs wanting to play it safe and create an all-rounder with an already solid, established playstyle to maximize the chances of success and minimize controversy.
Unknown and Vecna are like a year old, aren't they? Ghoul I'll give you, but his power is conceptually very simple.

After hyping this chapter for over a year, it's truly amazing that what we got was just a mashup of abilities from existing killers! Looks like you've run out of ideas.
Kudos to the dev team for the hard work during the three weeks between the PTB and live release. You managed to add one animation when grabbing a survivor while teleporting. Sure, there are sound bugs and invisibility glitches, but hey, just blame the QA team and move on!
If anyone had even touched the PTB, it would've been obvious that survivors have zero reason to check CCTV instead of repairing gens. But instead of adjusting the balance, you just released it as-is!
But do you know what’s the funniest part?
Springtrap is going to sell well.
Why? Because unlike Nemesis from the Resident Evil chapter—who was so boring he caused player numbers to plummet—Springtrap just copy-pastes Huntress’s ability, the most popular killer in the game!
It’s absolutely hilarious that the chase experience of Huntress, a killer released in the early days of the game, still feels more fun and reasonable than most of the recent killers.
There's no way to come up with unique ideas without somewhat reusing old ones. Moreover, this chapter was a stupid idea from a stupid game to begin with. You're lucky it even happened.
