Did you enjoy playing old Sym again?

I'm so jealous 😭 I didn't pay attention to patches at that time and I used my last one :(
RIP Smoking Splinter on Wraith
And yeah that BT screen was so bad 💀

I can't believe that Behavior is going to let an offering have such a huge impact on the game lol.
Once upon a time, offerings let you instantly kill people the moment they went down, black out the map entirely, and play characters you didn't own.

You're telling me if it came out tomorrow, that Killers had a 40% KR, you wouldh't be screaming "survivor op" from the rooftops?
If killers had started throwing games to deflate the stats, absolutely not. Killrates have never been a good indication of balance. Nurse proves that.

I wonder if you'd keep the same tune if Kill Rates and Escape Rates were flipped. I imagine you'd have quite a different opinion if Killers had a 40% KR.
People will always find a way to rationalize their way out of data that doesn't fit their narrative. Survivor hasn't been the power role in half a decade. Any issues on the front lie with individual players, not the balancing of the game.
They wouldn't be flipped unless killers started hard throwing games consistently, which just isn't gonna happen.

So nurse was my first main. I still dabble with her from time to time. I have never used perks or aura in my 1k+ hours with her. In her current state she is far less powerful than she was with double range or double recharge, or any of her previous iterations.
That being said, making matchbox basekit would be a start, reducing turn rate during blinks, making some aura perks not work, making her not being able to blink through walls (this would probably just make her a dash killer of some sort), making her have to charge her ability similar to Oni by collecting breaths, etc. Just nerfing aura isnt it, a good nurse player doesn't need any aura what so ever to dominate.
Honestly taking away a blink (4.4 ofc) and the lunge add-on might be the best start, it would require more skill and better preparation for setting up hits without making her feel straight up bad to play. For those saying she doesn't need nerfs, due to skill ceiling blah blah, nurse skill ceiling is crazy finite and gets boring after a while (which is why I switched to maining huntress) and not terribly hard to reach especially if you already have good game sense and map knowledge. It takes about 30-50 matches to really get her blinks down without any custom practice.
Taking away a Blink and making her faster destroys the reason you play her. She isn't fun like that. I want to rely entirely on my power, not just zone everything with it and outrun people.
Nurse's design is fine.

I believe they should not have addressed the "go next" topic without tackling the issue of slugging as well.
If the argument is that children are quitting because they perceive certain behaviors as "unenjoyable," it is unfair to criticize those individuals without examining the root cause. I have encountered killers DCing at the start of a match, presumably because they dislike the matchup with their current chosen character.
From my perspective, some people here are just suggest that one should consider the broader context rather than resorting to immature insults.
Yeah, except I see survivors leaving against literally anything. It doesn't matter what they're facing, it's just the sort of person the role attracts. I've had people DC against me playing perkless on ######### Sadako. It does not matter to those people.
-
Killrates are flawed. You can't play solo queue survivor without someone DCing or killing themselves every other game, which massively inflates the stats. Nurse has had a sub 50% killrate for years. This is the only chart I've seen with her so high, and this is actually the *weakest* Nurse has ever been. Are you also going to argue that Nurse used to be the weakest killer? No? Then stop with the killrates. They mean nothing and Nurse proves that.

No offense but nothing in DBD is "extremely difficult to play" and I wouldn't even put Nurse in the top 3 highest skill ceiling in the game.
Extremely difficult by dbd standards*
I agree that dbd isn't a particularly skillful game. But relative to the rest of the roster, Nurse is extremely difficult. As is Blight. Hence why Nurse has such a low killrate consistently for, well, ever.

- I give some context to my discussion. I've been playing since 2020 and I'm devotion 27 (I think 5k hours of play). It's really time to think about doing something about this killer who ignores ALL the rules of this game.
- Pattet? Windows? DS? Stuns? Long distance? Sprint burst? DH? Distance between first and second floor? It doesn't matter, she'll still manage to get around the rules and get right to you. She's even good at proxy camping/tunneling (even though she doesn't need it at all)
- And now I'm out of the "admiration" phase that many are in... it's true that she's a difficult killer to master, but once you understand her mechanics, with the right perks and addon, the game is over for survivors. it all comes down to "will she get her blink wrong this time?" At this point why nerf Kaneki and leave her as she is?
- why can you disarm the Trapper's traps, but she has no mechanics to somehow limit her power? before you could at least burn her with the flashlight (which is difficult anyway), now even that doesn't exist anymore
- A strong and challenging killer (both for mastering and from the survivor's point of view) is all well and good... but she's really something beyond those concepts
Because she's extremely difficult to play, and the effort it takes to get to that level with Nurse is the same as the effort it takes to become a SWAT team on survivor. Want to nerf Nurse? Survivor as a role needs to be rebalanced because there isn't an equivalent to it anymore.
No one wants that. It makes the game as a whole less fun for everyone, all for a killer that barely anyone plays anyway

"It's fine that the game is unfun for others as long as it's fun for me"
Like jeez, didn't think I'd have anyone arguing AGAINST making the game better but here we are.
People aren't arguing against making the game better, they're arguing against pandering to children that would quit even if the game started with 0 gens remaining.
Survivor is already the power role. It does not need buffs. Every "unfun" killer playstyle has been nerfed through both basekit changes and perk/kit reworks, while the only toxic survivor one to be nerfed to the same degree is stealth. Which wasn't even powerful to begin with.

Dead by Daylight is M rated, which is 17+.
So if we follow the ESRB, then no, minors shouldn't be allowed to play this game.
No one cares about ratings. I was playing this game at 14.
-
People who choose to play killer aren't magically better at the game than your average survivor
They don't have to be, because you improve faster on killer than you do on survivor, and you don't have any factors you don't control present in the game.
For every 4K you get as killer, you know it could well have been a 2K or a 0K if BHVR hadn't given you an advantage from the outset
No killer in the game has an advantage against a competent team at a high level. Not even Nurse or Blight.
The balance differential is clearly evident in the absurdly long kill streaks that some killer mains have achieved, which is unheard of on survivor side, and unheard of in other popular PvP games that are sensibly balanced.
Terrible argument. This game doesn't have a matchmaking system. Past 5000 hours it becomes very unlikely for you to lose on either role without something out of your control making it happen. The only reason you don't see escape streaks like that is because you can't control solo queue teammates to force wins.
Your skill as killer will make you an intimidating presence all by itself.
The only killers that are intimidating by nature are Nurse and Blight, and in VERY specific scenarios, Hag. No other killer can beat efficient survivors. They don't have the ability to manage time effectively because every chase is gonna be longer than 30 seconds against a good team. At least 33% of a gen, multiplied by every survivor doing gens. Unless the survivors mess up and get snowballed, or the killer is able to focus someone out within minutes to forcefully slow gens (which isn't particularly likely) they will lose. As much as y'all want to deny it, it's just objectively true.

So much whataboutisms….
This is about kicking gens, not whether you believe it is effective or how to tell someone how to play their video game. That's not whataboutism.
If you were playing well, you never would've hit the cap. In other words, git gud. Moreover, you're talking about not wanting the survivors to escape and having more time to chase them. And yet you kick gens that often, wasting your own time, making them complete the objective faster and therefore giving you less time to chase.
Then you get mad at me for pointing it out. Make it make sense.

Has anyone else been facing more blatant (maybe not so blatant in some instances) cheaters in their games? In almost 2k hours I could honestly say I faced 3 confirmed cheaters ever, but in the recent days I've encountered multiple cheaters after coming back from break. Just wondering if anyone else has faced them more often recently?
P.s In case you're wondering how I know they're confirmed cheaters, they reveal themselves around mid match. Either showing off insane speed of impossible torch blinds.
I faced one team of cheaters (not skill issue hackusations, we're talking stunlocking on pallets and blinding infinitely through walls), then DCed because I'm not gonna be someone's toy. Someone friend requested me on Steam right after and I accepted because I never turn down friend requests, and I queued into another team under completely different names doing the same things.
I think the friend request marked my account to ensure I was in their lobby again. Why they'd do that, idk. I ended up reporting the account that requested me and blocked them, and I haven't faced a cheater since.

My brother in Christ. Even the ######### Huntress has a TWO SECOND cooldown after throwing a hatchet. So yes, a one second cooldown after using your power is laughable. And no, this isn’t about using your power in a loop. Nobody who’s played this game for more than 20 hours would seriously attempt that, but thanks for the strawman. Also, since you brought it up, kidnap tech is still a thing. Pretty good job, BHVR. But that’s beside the point.
What's interesting is how fast you resorted to personal attacks the second someone pointed out something in the kit that might be, I don’t know, a little busted? You need to actually be good at the game to notice when something’s overtuned. I showed up ready for a discussion. You showed up yelling “skill issue” like that’s a mic drop. If that’s all you got, cool, go off, I guess.
But what really kills me is that you seriously tried to argue that a one-second cooldown after cutting off or bodyblocking a survivor isn't extremely generous. No wonder you’re so against shortening the leap window to something remotely fair like three or four seconds. Wouldn’t want to actually use both of your braincells to line up a hit instead of getting a grab spoon-fed to you.
The only thing that would change is you’d occasionally have to aim and think. Right now, it requires zero skill. And if that works for you then great, but some of us do want this game to be fair and fun for both sides ya know.
The hatchet injures you and gives a speed boost. Imagine trying to compare them.
I'm resorting to personal attacks because I'm really tired of skilless losers crying about Legion v2. You're actually terrible and crying about a B tier killer. Want to start surviving Kaneki more? Grow a goddamn brain. Dbd isn't even a hard game and you're somehow still struggling.
On top of that, your suggested nerfs are RIDICULOUS too. Three to four seconds? That makes him a straight up M1 killer with zero upside to picking him. It's not exactly hard to LOS someone moving slower than you, buddy. You don't even want balance, you just want to gut everything you personally are too TERRIBLE to outplay.
So yes, I'm resorting to personal attacks. You deserve them.

Odd you think OCD is irrelevant but every gen that has been worked on I want to kick to have more time chasing the survivors and preventing them from escaping

Hi everyone!
This is my very first post here — I actually joined the forums just to share this killer concept I’ve been thinking about. I’ve always loved the game, playing since 2018. I can say I am not pro player but I’d fall in love of the game concept and game design. I am also a game developer and in each match, I am experiencing the design of the game, asking myself questions about mechanics to answer and trying to build new ideas to inject game to improve my own game design skills. Today when I play a match as a killer, a new killer idea came to my mind : What if a Shinigami from Death Note entered the Fog as a killer .
Here’s the concept:
Killer Name: The Shinigami
Real Name: Ryuk
Weapon: A cursed feather pen with a notebook.
Power: Death Note
“Those whose names are written in this book shall perish.”
The Shinigami has the ability to observe Survivors and “write their names” into his Death Note.
How it works:
- The Shinigami can activate Observation Mode(Maybe similar to shape or ghost face), allowing him to track and analyze Survivors.
- After staring at a Survivor within line of sight for X consecutive seconds, their “name” is written to the notebook by shinigami animation.
- After being written, if they are not interact with a Death Avoidance Action within Y seconds, they collapse into the dying state, as like The Pig’s ability.
- With the interaction, they may change their fate.
I don’t plan full of the character but you got the idea.
I’d love to hear what you all think! Feel free to critique, suggest adjustments, or even expand on it — I really appreciate this community’s creativity and insight.
Thanks for reading, and happy escaping (or hunting)!
So...pig traps that you don't need to down for and can spam.

I would like to know at what gen amount fellow survivor players usually lose their games because i find most matches in which I win as Killer, survivors still have 5-4 gens left, and exact same miserable experience when I play as Survivor.
Unless I go full gen repair build and i'm not chased first, it's not uncommon to see someone on death hook at 5-4 gens. This mixed with the fact it will not be possible to go next anymore makes me wonder if it's common for other people to lose majority of their games at 5-4 gens or if it's just my experience.
Would be crazy that the devs don't do anything when majority of games are decided within the first 90 seconds and survivors don't even get to interact with their objective before a teammate dies. (And preventing players from going next won't suddenly make them good at looping or make them do gens, it will just make them alt tab to watch youtube)
I think streamers who main Killer like Otz have had stats made of their matches and there seems to be an issue if majority of killer players have a consistent winrate of 90% of their matches and in all of those survivors don't even get to finish a gen.
Skill issue

Exactly. He can only get first hit and then he has to use his power to leap right next to you and then wait for the -lemme check- ah yes, ONE SECOND cooldown in order to down you. That's fair!
Wait what
he has to use his power to leap right next to you and then wait for the -lemme check- ah yes, ONE SECOND cooldown in order to down you. That's fair!
It really is, because an entire second of movement lock is absolutely no joke and if you're not in the open or playing a loop badly, it will never come into play. You can't even grab onto a wall that's close to you, removing literally all chance of using it in a loop.
Idk why you'd name yourself flawless when your skill issues are this blatant

Forgive me, when I said "you can't really say that removing it would weaken him signifcantly while also claiming it doesn't matter" I meant it generally, not you specifically, but that was poor phrasing on my part. Apologies.
I do understand he isn't the only killer with a free first hit, but none of them have the same kind of mobility that he does, which changes the value of the hit. Just because a stealth killer like Mike may manage to sneak a first "free" hit (though I do feel this is debateable, as with Mike, the survivor is punished for being caught of guard at close range, and when it comes to the ghoul, the survivor is punished for being in a general line of sight even at a significant distance) but Mikes lack of mobility changes the value of that 1st "free" hit. It all depends on the killer (and the players personal skill of course) Some maps are terrible for some killers, while others are perfect. Certain perks are difficult to get value from with one killer, while that same perk is great on someone else. Same thing with a free first hit. An injury will always valuable, but combined with a killer that has the kind of mobility/anti-loop the Ghoul has (like when enraged), and that first hit becomes even more valuable. And I agree, choosing to stay injured can sometimes be the right call, but even if it is the right call it still does put you at a much more vulnerable state. You have to play much safer, you can't greed pallets as much, can't take protection hits or go for risky saves/gens, and you run the risk of a snowball if the entire team is injured. I think there are far too many factors that go into a match to say that you should never heal unless dead on hook or a deadzone.
Again, this may just be a polite agree to disagree, but in my opinion, being injured versus full health is a significant difference. And a power that nearly guarantees that injured state shouldn’t be dismissed when evaluating the killer’s overall strength. It may not be overpowered, but it is a meaningful advantage. I think that free 1st hit ability was taken away, he would be much weaker. If he would be weaker without it, then that means he is stronger with it, which means it does matter.
Forgive me, when I said "you can't really say that removing it would weaken him signifcantly while also claiming it doesn't matter" I meant it generally, not you specifically, but that was poor phrasing on my part. Apologies.
I see, that makes more sense
I do understand he isn't the only killer with a free first hit, but none of them have the same kind of mobility that he does, which changes the value of the hit.
Which is made up for in other areas. He can't get multiple at once like Legion. His hits don't spread free map pressure like Plague. And remember, stealthy killers on indoor maps don't just injure. If you're already injured you're going down.
Kaneki's mobility is still a tradeoff here. His individual hits are more powerful in some ways and less in others.
I think there are far too many factors that go into a match to say that you should never heal unless dead on hook or a deadzone.
I was simplifying it. There are more situations, they're just rare.
The thing is, everything useful you could do with that extra health state matters significantly less than more gen progress 90% of the time. Dbd is a game about efficiency, after all. It's more efficient to slam gens and not worry about heals until someone really needs them.
I do appreciate you having an actual discussion, by the way. It's a nice breath of fresh air from the people screaming for nerfs to a killer that's never come close to Nurse or Blight tier.

Can anyone give me some tips on how to properly use the flashlight😭 I’ve been trying and it always turns out the same of me getting done by the killer😂
Flashlights are pretty simple to use. To get a save, the blind has to finish as the killer is free to move. Meaning that you start the blind while they're immobile and finish it after they can move but before they can look away. As long as you know how long blinds take, it's pretty much impossible to miss a flashlight save

@hermitkermit said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3938082#Comment_3938082
I respectfully disagree with the idea that “getting a free injury state” isn’t a big deal just because the killer can’t immediately down from their power. That first health state does matter and dismissing it overlooks why things like tunneling are so effective. Survivors coming off hook at full health would be make tunneling significantly more difficult because it's the loss of a health state that quickens the down. Once you’ve lost a health state, you're significantly more vulnerable. That logic directly applies here.
The Ghoul’s free hit creates immediate pressure and opens the door for snowballing. Pair that with his excellent mobility, and getting to injured survivors becomes even easier. So while he can’t use his power to down, the free hit still gives him a strong advantage. Especially because that first hit is not just an injury but also a mend, creating a form of passive slowdown for the survivors to mend before they bleed out.
For the record, I don’t think Ghoul is OP. I do think some of the hit validation, like the ones through walls or second stories needs work, but overall he feels alright. That said, I do think the free hit is a meaningful strength. If he didn’t have that free health state, I don’t believe he’d be nearly as strong. You can’t really say that removing it would weaken him significantly while also claiming that it doesn’t matter. It does. It’s not broken, but it’s strong.
Yeah, but the thing is...he isn't the only killer with a free first hit. Legion, all stealthy killers on indoor maps, and Plague (although it is slow) do too. Kaneki isn't even the best killer at spreading pressure that way because it isn't passive and it's only one survivor at a time.
There's a reason most good survivors don't really heal. It's not actually necessary. The only reason you'd need to is if you're dead on hook or in a deadzone.
You can't really say that removing it would weaken him significantly while also claiming it doesn't matter
I never said the hit itself didn't matter. That is his power, after all. I just said that a single free hit isn't problematic.
-
@Flawless_ said:
Even after the recent "nerfs", The Ghoul’s leap window is completely busted. 5 full seconds to land a hitscan grab is just absurd. That one detail alone makes him miserable to go against. This killer literally gets a massive window to score a free hit with zero effort required.
Wesker has 3 seconds between dashes. Nurse gets 1.5 between blinks. Ghoul gets five seconds to float around and still grab you the second you enter line of sight. And it’s a hitscan so no aiming, no timing, no commitment. You don’t have to be clever, you don’t have to predict anything. You just wait and click. It’s a braindead power with no consequences for missing.
Most killers with strong abilities have some kind of drawback. If you miss as Blight or Nurse, you could mess up your bump logic or get fatigue. Even Wesker has to land his dash properly. But Ghoul? He misses and just tries again. And leaving the loop does not help because he can catch up in 2 seconds. Hell, even the Spirit's power, requires you to pay attention to grass and listen to footsteps.
If that leap window was shorter by even one or two seconds, the whole thing would feel different. The rest of his kit would still be insanely strong, but at least he’d have to earn his first hit. Right now, he doesn’t. He just holds the power and eventually you’re injured. The skill ceiling just isn't there.
How is that kind of design healthy for the game? I'm convinced the leap window is what makes this killer so oppressive, and until that changes, matches against him will keep feeling cheap, repetitive, and unfair. With FNAF around the corner, I’m scared they’re just going to leave it as is. Although, let’s be real, at that point I'm pretty sure it’s going to be Springtrap every game.
All of those killers can down with their powers.
One free hit is not a problem when he can't use his power to down.

today Bhvr made a tweet about keeping the game acccessible by not planning any spider killers for people with arachnophobia, and of course they have been receiving praise online for it, the thing that bothers me is why is arachnophobia given thought and not other phobias or other disabilities. There’s no black option for blinding for epileptics, the rarity color rework made the game 100x less accessible for color blind people and the color blind options we do have are honestly quiere abysmal. HOH people are just screwed when it comes to spirit. If you want to be known as an accessible game then put the work in. I hope you never have to experience the feeling of a game you care deeply for becoming less accessible for you and to have your concerns fall on deaf ears. You say you want new players, I never thought it would exclude those of us with disabilities.
There's differences here though. They understood that they couldn't, for some reason, add a dark blind feature. Instead, they put a notice when you load up the game, so epileptic people weren't blindsided.
The rarity color rework is stupid, I agree, but they did it to match other games. Colorblind people shouldn't be struggling with the change because the icons and placements are still the same, and if you are...Nightlight exists. Get the old perk skins back.
HOH people can't play Spirit or against her, and that's just the unfortunate reality of having a sound based killer. And honestly, dbd is just straight up a very sound oriented game, despite all the audio bugs.
So what do we have here?
1- Something BHVR apparently can't do, and gave a warning for instead to keep people safe
2- Something that doesn't affect colorblind people
3- An unavoidable aspect of the game that can't and won't ever change
I mean, your entire post is false equivalences

Outside of having a suitable content rating, developers are not responsible for managing people's triggers.
At some point, people need to take responsibility for their own wellbeing and realise that going into a peanut butter factory when you have a legume allergy is a bad idea.
There's a big difference between fear and phobias, and arachnophobia is one of the more...volatile ones. I know people that have literal panic attacks seeing big spiders in games. Personally, my own is incredibly mild and I'd be able to handle it, but specific things trigger it and make me uncomfortable. Like Kanaki in Cochlea, when he was going insane.
Spiders aren't even a good horror element in the first place because very few people without arachnophobia care about them and the people with arachnophobia aren't scared by them, they're made deeply uncomfortable..

And this guy just chilling out underneath Toba Landing (so long as the basement doesn't spawn here). What's their story?
Nurse's eyes never being shown. I just find it really cool

It's weak cuz it's on a timer, is linked to the terror radius and survivors are told that it is in play so they can play around it by leaving the loop or even slow vaulting the pallet

Killers don't like it cause it ruins their power fantasy and your post is literally a proof of that LMAO
Survivors also don't like getting slugged, camped and tunneled, they don't like going against insanely broken killers designed to 4k every single match, they don't like playing on maps that are a guaranteed 4k, they don't like having to repair a billion gens cause the killer is running full regression, rhey don't like automatically losing what's supposed to be a 50/50 mindgame cause the killer has aura reading, they don't like a killer making a ridiculous comeback after doing bad the whole match thanks to stuff like Devour Hope or endgame perks etc. etc., but sure, survivors should DEFINITELY be really concerned about how the killers feel when survivors go next in miserable matches.
Lmfao
It's crazy how some of y'all are just walking skill issues. What an L

It's literally the main/only objective to do in the game for survivors next to unhooking and totems. Having an issue with survivors Gen rushing is like telling them not to play the game. Yes, it sucks to watch 3 gens pop in a singular chase that took you longer than you would have liked to finish, but…..it's….the point of the game….I really don't understand why people get so bitter about it.
This is a legit question. No bitterness, just intrigued.
Survivors and Killers both make some arbitrary rules towards one another and what can constitute as "Toxic behavior". Just curious why this is even one of them. Why complain about tunneling?

Bear with me. I've got some real points to make about this.
So, tunnelling is often a hot button issue, with those who want it to be addressed often answered by comments about how it's necessary at the high level to secure any hope of victory. This, broadly, isn't true, but what I have to say doesn't really get swayed either way by that statement.
There are two reasons why tunnelling is against your best interests as killer… long term. That's the hitch, I'm only taking about long term effects, not short term. In the short term, it's very much in your best interests, it's the easiest value you can get as killer and teams that can properly counter it tend to be pretty rare. In the long term, though, two things become potential problems for you.
1: It stunts your growth with the fundamentals.
If you lean on tunnelling to gain an edge over teams that are giving you trouble, or if you go straight to tunnelling someone out from the start, you're not honing macro fundamental skills (Spreading pressure being the most notable example, but there are others too) and you're also getting much less practice on in-chase fundamentals since the chases you're taking after the first one are very often heavily stacked in your favour.
In the long term, as you gain more wins through tunnelling someone out, you'll face progressively stronger opponents, and you'll be increasingly less able to answer them with anything other than more tunnelling. You'll find yourself locked in to this one strategy even as it gets harder and more frustrating, because you won't have as much of the fundamental skills to fall back on.
2: It's unbalanced and it will get changes.
I want to be very clear about this point, and be transparent that I'm not shaming anyone or judging your gameplay. I am just noting, fully neutrally, that the unbalanced nature of tunnelling means BHVR are going to be addressing it in the future. Whether it's a slow set of incremental improvements like we've had so far, or one fell swoop that handles it conclusively once and for all, we're eventually going to reach a point where tunnelling is no longer actually easier and more impactful than not tunnelling.
Much like the previous point, in the long term that means you may find yourself up a certain creek without a paddle if tunnelling's swept out from under you and you're left at the mercy of teams who are skilled enough to make you flounder. If you don't have anything to fall back on if and when tunnelling stops working, you're going to struggle.
-
Those are my points. If you don't care about long term results and only care about the short term then by all means, keep tunnelling, it's very strong. If you do care about being able to beat skilled opponents in the long term, though, tunnelling is against your best interests. Resist its allure, and be a better player for it as time passes.
I mean, you're just wrong on both counts. Firstly, tunneling strategically IS a fundamental. Second, tunneling is not unbalanced just because you personally don't like facing it.

Is using a monitor with high contrast ratios cheating?
Is using a mouse with high DPI cheating?
Are headphones cheating?
None of those change core game mechanics. High contrast with nothing else in dbd is actually a DISadvantage. High DPI in dbd itself requires going into the game files to make it not lag to hell and back every time you move your camera. Headphones are how the game is MEANT to be played.
So many false equivalences

The ongoing debate if using Equalizers is cheating. Equalizers is a 3rd party software that is able to increase or completely eliminate certain sounds in a videogames for dbd its footsteps, breathing, items and killer powers.
Hens says its not cheating while Ayrun says it is cheating
If using Reshade to make traps bright pink is cheating, something that has an objectively higher gameplay advantage definitely is

The important detail is what happens when the player's killer queue is ready? Will they be immediately replaced by a survivor bot? Because forcing survivors to deal with more survivor bots, just so killer players can have a better quality of life, might not be good for queue times.
I also really don't understand why BHVR is putting so much time and effort into making the killer's player experience so much fun in 2v8, when the killer queues are already too high. It's like all the stuff killers want in 1v4, get added to 2v8, then we wonder why so many people want to play killer in 2v8?
For example, Nurse feels horribly clunky to play in 1v4, regardless of how good she is in that mode. But she feels amazing to play in 2v8 because they gave her so many buffs in the 2v8 mode. Of course I'm going to want to play Nurse in 2v8, because it's the only time I get to play Nurse where she's actually fun to play as.
How is Nurse not fun in 1v4 but fun in 2v8? What did they even change with her?

This should surprise nobody. The devs cater to killers and genuinely treat the survivor role like straight garbage. There's never a reason to touch the game unless you enjoy playing Killer. Every patch has made it clearer how poorly balanced this game is and why I only bother with half of it unless I'm forced to touch Survivor for challenges.
If this weren't the case, they wouldn't offer a +400% bloodpoint bonus to survivors. Nobody wants to play a punching bag, and that's exactly how they're designed.Lmfao

They should definitely fix the bug for consistency sake, but something similar to it would be a good balancing feature, I think. Kaneki loses two charges when he breaks a pallet in order to allow the survivor a small window of breathing room after the killer breaks a pallet, I think Blight should have something like that too. Reign in the huge disparity between the weaker and stronger killers a little bit.
You do that by buffing the killers that aren't viable, not nerfing the ones that are
-
I've been playing a LOT of solo queue survivor recently (for both fun and challenges)
My escape rate is ridiculously high and most of my deaths are on purpose to get other people out. The reason? I do gens. I've been avoiding taking chases because the only consistent factor is myself, and I don't want to leave the objective to trash. I've just been running Weaving Spiders and a resilience build with a toolbox. Injured all game and doing just fine. Hell, I'm not even hiding or playing immersed.
So yes, I agree. It's definitely player quality if that's all it takes to win. Buffing gen speeds doesn't matter when the survivors aren't touching them to begin with
