tbf, the mini lucky break seems to be a bug. i’ll get the 5 seconds of elusive from being hit by a killers projectile when they are clearly not in the range for the light marks. classic bhvr, having the perk be bugged and not have accurate testing only to receive a nerf (cough Last Stand cough).

The hitbox is just very large. It was able to hit people on the floor ABOVE the killer on the PTB. JCGlitchMaster did a great video explaining all the problems with the perk. He's mostly a survivor main as well and was baffled by how broken it was in practice.

  • It was supposed to be nerfed sooner but I guess they couldn't nerf it before it went to live and are waiting until the next patch.

    @MoZo said:

it’s getting nerfed quicker than other perks because content creators and their echo chamber audience complained in mass during the ptb to the point where if the devs didn’t nerf it, they’d throw a tantrum.

tbh i think people overreacted about this perk. i’ve been using it since release and the only times ive lost the killer mid chase with it is on indoor maps (which obviously, all stealth perks are good on indoor maps) and in a high wall loop where i have a lot of distance on the killer to the point where i could’ve lost them even without the perk by just walking or crouching, or if the killer player is just not that experienced and is over reliant on scratch marks. in the vast majority of my games, the killer is close enough to the point where i can’t lose them with Cross-Examination.

once the nerf hits either this week or next week, this will be a dead perk and no one will use it (no one uses it currently but the nerf will make it go extinct). very sad to see a perk not even have the chance to be proven wrong before already having a nerf so heavy that it nukes it from orbit.

I agree that the perk is probably going to be dead on arrival after the nerf, but this is still undeniably the best stealth perk in the game with the PTB version. Simply getting hit gave you a mini lucky break effect for 5 seconds due to the light mark's hitbox being ginormous for no reason. It was basically an instant power creep to every stealth perk that exists.
imo Elusive shouldn't be slapped onto perks all willy nilly because it's just too loaded of a status effect.

  • Oni's Demon Strike does not, as it cannot activate perk effects such as surge or Sloppy butcher. It's a special attack, which most powers are.

  • I was playing Oni my first game, I cannot hit people with my power if they have invincibility

I was robbed a LOT by this

  • @Crowman said:

Well BHVR constantly knee caps their own DC penalty system and alongside the abandon system it's actually easier for survivors to quit games without building up large time penalties.

I think the core problem is that the devs just do not play their own game in an actual setting and rely too much on data and surveys to make changes. And the surveys lately show a bias towards survivor as well.

This is the exact sorta thing I made a previous post about (random downvoting of stuff that makes no sense that also got downvoted to hell lmfao). Why are people downvoting this guy? This isn't an opinion piece. THIS IS STRAIGHT UP JUST PROVEN FACTUAL STATEMENTS. God this community hurts my brain.

  • I stopped playing because skill expression on the killer side became irrelevant. Your skill doesn't matter as killer, the survivors' and what tier the killer you pick does. If I win as killer it's not really because I was good it was because the survivors were bad or made some very severe misplays. I see no reason to play anymore because I don't feel myself evolving over time with different killers.

Efficiency. Blight has incredible mobility that also functions as anti-loop. He can take health states while using that mobility.

Contrast that to Ghostface. No real outplay potential at safe tiles. Not even the ability to force 50/50s at times. Yes, he can mark and one shot, but he's stuck playing as an M1 killer if he doesn't get the instadown. He also has no mobility.

Ghostface is one of my mains. You can maintain a ~70% kill rate with him. It's just hard. Ghostface has much lower lows than Blight. Your worst games will be 3 or 4 hook games where you struggle to down anyone. The worst case scenario on Blight is usually a 2k.

You must find like actual bottom of the barrel survivors to be getting a 70% kill rate as ghost face.

  • Might wanna work on your title to you know forum content correlation. Think you got a little confused lmao.

    been there tho.

  • @tes said:

You still can win without tunneling.

The question do you want to play consistently against such players, who had advantages of whole world but one or two people messing around whole match, so you get opportunity to take 8 hooks before kill only thanks to their mistakes. There are no skill if u rely on opposite side being chill or consistenly fail in understanding how they should move.

Played survivor yesterday. Another day of regretting lack of SBMM. Countless games with teammates doing the most primitive stuff. Or frustration due to miscommunication. Killers don’t need try hard for win nowadays, because the inconsistent level of play made so.

Just for an example — endgame, me injured on opposite side, Midwich, two people left, other on hook. Giving me opportunity to reach gates? No… Killing yourself on hook so killer can freely camp gate after, and then blaming me endgame chat I didn't rescue? Of course… My lose streaks on survs aren't defined by killer in lobby anymore — teammates doing their job way better.

This, this right here is the correct answer. Average survivor player lately has become so terrible it has literally tilted the perceived balance of the game to look killer sided enough to "not tunnel" when in reality if they have their monitors turned on it's quite literally impossible as you don't have enough time to do it.

  • Since free kills are unfair, then we need to get rid of all free escapes as well, like unbreakable soul guard working together at the exit gate, heal teching at the exit gate, Basekit BT end game and whatever else we could constitute as being "free". You can't go after the one thing on the killer side (perk wise) that is unfair for end game kills whilst being blind to all the things going on, on the other side. This isn't a 4 player game nor is it a 1 player game. This isn't even to mention that the killer only has 4 perks whilst survivors have 16 between them. A killer sinking 1/4 of their build to a potential end game kill is more than valid.

Tink deserved it. It wasn't just Blights abusing it, it was any killer with high mobility.

There were also like 9 trillion Pop/Tink/Ruin/Undying Freddy players.

There were still a million different ways to approach it, like giving it a cooldown or just having it act differently on some killers instead of making it be unable to help you out more than once per gen. Particularly after ruin was gutted for a long long time.

  • I saw Singularity as a "sub S-tier" an instantly stopped reading, don't attempt to partake in balance discussion if you don't know the power levels of killers.

  • I also would like to shut down any arguments regarding me actually giving a damn about "muh internet points" because I really don't. I literally explain in it why I think it's a problem, that it harms discussion and prevents feedback from really functioning here. This isn't about me. If I said something dumb or non-factual or just generally inflammatory I should be downvoted so that my post gets pushed down and not bumped. That's ENTIRELY justified. The problem is as said above, I have seen people say literally the most basic things imaginable and them get swarmed for seemingly no reason.

It's not even what I said either. Bro is twisting my words into pretzels. This is what I said:

There are no survivor comebacks as massive and common as killer ones. A killer can get 0 hooks and still get a 3k or 4k in end game and it's not even rare. Happens to me in both roles. Tell me the survivor equivalent of that. Everyone on death hook at 5 gens yet they somehow get them all done and win?

I've had matches where I've gotten 0-2 hooks when gens have been completeld and I've still won. I've never had anything close to that as survivor. The killer would have to AFK or turn friendly for a similar experience.

OP you're getting downvoted because you think your views are facts and not opinions and that everyone else is a malicious liar.

Hi, so uh this is entirely false. I don't know how to copy a quote but this is the SECOND message you sent after I responded to you in that forum. Want the original first text entirely unedited?

    "

I'd be fine with this logic if it went both ways but it doesn't. I can play like trash as killer, get no hooks, and still win in end game by slugging everyone. That shouldn't be possible if my whole match was bad plays. Yet it is, and survivors have no equivalent comebacks. That's the unevenness of this argument: the punishments aren't just a little unbalanced, they are severely skewed towards killer.

    "

This is from YOU. Don't tell me I'M twisted your words into a pretzel if you aren't going to provide the entire context.

Downvote from me because 33 isn't 33% of 60. That would be either 20 out of 60 or 55%. 😜

the 33 was a random number, but 20/60 is 1/3 which = 33%, you uh, are aware of that right?

I also wonder, especially with good ideas that benefit everyone. I remember asking if we would ever get a higher tick rate (benefits everyone) and it was downvoted into oblivion. What's not to like about the servers updating more often? lol

Yeah idk man. Like if you look at my profile I have a 50/50 split, which on paper means I must constantly spew volatile opinions that people don't like right? no lmao I'm busy calling blatant misinformation like "Survivor has no comeback potential whilst killer can ALWAYS come back in end game" or mathematically explaining why Wesker is NOT a mobility killer. Hell I called the first 2v8 iteration very survivor sided and people lost their minds at that idea whilst half of people were going on 10 game escape streaks as survivor in it with mostly 6 or 7 man outs.

I admit this is a bit ranty, it's just a big part of what is making me give up any hope for the game. How do you get a game in a better place when seemingly the entire community wants to sabotage any hope of it being fixed by just straight up lying and doing anything other than being helpful.

If you talk about Skill… are all Killers allowed?

Remember the Skill gap between Trapper and Nurse.

Survivors would need some base game things or you have a full Slug Party for 4 Minutes or Camping on demand (if you remember the last Chaos Shuffle it was free tunneling cause no perks.)

Friendly reminder that basekit survivor slams basekit killer by such a hilarious margin unless it's Nurse, Blight or like a REALLY cracked out billy. I speak as someone who used to play perkless survivor for shits and giggles and found it very viable.

  • make long range shots always infect on a direct hit please. I have a genuinely horrid habit of PERFECTLY nailing a survivor near the edge of my range and get "rewarded" by it bouncing off and it missing them completely.

Thanks for the encouraging words, but I do believe it has a tangible effect as stated above. Remember that this isn't some random fan forum website but literally THE official forum website. You have any idea how catastrophic it would be if they actually based any game related discussions on what is said here and how people receive it via the voting system? That ######### would be so catastrophic for the game that…. wait a minute the game is always in a catastrophic state what the hell am I saying?

  • @Blueberry said:

Yeah we need to stop having so many things held basic for the majority of the roster just because nurse/blight exist. It's ruining things for everyone else.

The thing is, that's not the case anymore. There is no killer holding it back now at all. We already have Nowhere to Hide that lets Nurse play on autopilot anyway (this is infinitely more problematic than AwA was on her even WITH starstruck).

But BHVR has a tendency to forget entire killers exist (some time back one of them forgot Freddy was a killer in the game lmfao). So I imagine they forget a solid 1/3 of the perks even exist.

  • As much as I understand Balanced Landing is an underdog with exhaustion perks, it's still a good pick in general and is in the category (exhaustion) that is easily the strongest in the game for survivor. Maybe let's steer away from buffing survivors with uh, you know the current potential storm brewing.

Survivor comebacks are getting out of a wave of killer pressure where they are downing people very quickly, slugging very quickly and are on the path to winning very very suddenly. A comeback is just a matter of a SINGLE survivor having a chase over 1 minute in length. Yes that's it, a 1 minute chase and everyone should be up off the ground, unhooked, healed and on gens, which started to progress things at a steady pace again for survivor.

It is very difficult as killer to get a snowball rolling and pulling out of it isn't hard, you just have to have 1 person make a single good play or have UB, DS, etc etc.

You know what the counterplay to med-kits is? Hitting the survivor. Try it sometime, you might be surprised how easy it is to remove a health state. Med-kits aren't instant and infinite, your M1 is.

The entire point of medkits is to heal AFER being it. That's, like incredibly obvious. Med-kits a free HUGE buff to survivors for simply equipping them. Why is killer wanting some form of counter to them that isn't feeding them +8 health states (assuming 4 medkits per game with addons for 2 heals, both of which is the norm) suddenly unfair?

It's fair for survivor to bring free self heals that don't even cost a perk slot, but a killer dedicated an entire quarter of their build (perk slots are far more valuable on the killer side) and countering that is suddenly OP? It's apparent you have a very one sided opinion and can't think of the bigger picture. Try stepping back and remember there are 4 survivors EACH with items and that Franklin's still has counterplay. If I'm bringing a strong medkit I will often drop it somewhere just in case (pre franklin's nerf) they have Franklin's. It makes you think more critically about your item and value it more,as you should, items are extremely powerful (more so than most killer addons) and should be cherished, not expected with this weird entitlement a lot of people have.

I'm a little late to this, but are you saying there's no such thing as survivor comebacks? You have to be deliberately playing dumb or trying to maliciously spread misinformation at this point. Survivors have SIGNIFICANTLY more comeback potential than the killer and it's not even remotely close unless it's specifically someone like Billy who if you play insanely perfectly than yes at any point you can just down everyone back to back across the map (not practical nor easy though).

Like this is literally been a meme in the community since UB was added with how survivors can come back from literally ANYTHING. idk how willfully ignorant you have to be to actually type that out and think this is okay to post. Make sure we're playing the same game before going onto the forum discussion for the wrong game.

  • @MDRSan said:

Franklins doesn't need to be reverted. Survivors running back to retrieve their item (if they even bother to do so) isn't some risk free, zero time investment activity. Killers are just going to need to learn to let it go - they don't get to delete items for the low cost of a single M1 swing they were going to take anyway anymore. BHVR has knocked the perk out of killer's hands and it has ironically lost the charge that allows it to affect item charges.

Back on topic, I think the idea behind treating killer items as separate things was part of their balancing. If that was suddenly changed there would need to be a pass to look at what it means to be able to knock a VHS tape, an EMP, a mushroom, etc. out of someone's hand.

Killers just have to "let go" of having any counterplay to medkits. You see how insanely dumb that sounds? Franklin's isn't a "free item deletion for the cost of an M1" it's removing the free massive advantage survivor has for clicking a button to equip an item and slapping 2 addons on it. By your own logic survivors shouldn't get medkits at all.

SO in your opinion do u think their should be a giant dead zone just because 1 pallet get thrown ? because that not balanced what so ever back in the day like 4 years ago survivor had to learn pallet control so they wouldn't create dead zone for the next person that looped in said pallet thrown area now a day once 1 pallet get thrown it just free hit for the killer that just out right BORING TBH sure the fact it been gone on this long people get used to being given free hit and pressure all the time now it just dry's the game out making survivors a punching bag for the killer the game is about skill

In my opinion, bad plays should lose you games yes. Dropping pallets that incidentally create really big deadzones is something you should be paying attention to. Bad players should lose, not get the opportunity to make 3 more bad plays before they get lightly slapped on the wrist.

  • Literally no one is disagreeing with the new killer being problematic, but you make it sound like this is some one sided problem. Almost the entire killer roster is unplayable because they decided to massively increase the pallet density of more than 60% of the maps in the entire game, some of which were already extremely unfair to killer (Asylum, Blood Lodge, etc).

    @zzzzboring said:

Nah dude is 100% right. Streamers have ruined every game they touch. Back before streaming really took off you had so much more individuality. You would run into people that have 1000 hours on the game and were actually knowlegable and skillful. Now you get shredded by some 12 year old on a broken ass killer with some meta he watched one of those idiots on youtube spend 8 hours a day building and labbing.

Not to mention that terrible reach at a "comp" dbd discord. Now the same 12 year old has watched some streamer play "Comp DBD" (LMAO seriously??) and tunnels someone out at the beginning of a game because he thinks its "Normal" because so and so does it. Meanwhile bhvr incentivizes such gameplay by nerfing every survivor perk and rendering vaulting, pallets, and gens worthless now throw in a aura perk or two and the game pretty much plays itself. Especially on any of the new killers with their map movement and vision plus ranged attack and mini game mechanic and its incredibly offputting to even load up the game.

You act as if killer is easier than ever and as if killer hasn't been getting random perk nerfs nonstop the last year. They literally stepped back on 10% haste unbound and moved it to 7%. It was STILL a bad perk at 10% but it was fun and niche. Monitor and Abuse just lost the entire useful part of it with reducing already small terror radiuses by 8m. Dead Man's Switch took a stray for some reason despite having been the last decent consistent gen perk.

What are you even talking about with rendering every survivor perk, vaulting, pallets and gens worthless? They literally just giga buffed pallet spawns on most maps, vaulting hasn't been changed for a long time and the last one was a buff (1 second medium vaults down to 0.9 seconds iirc). Additionally all of the strongest survivor perks have been completely untouched for years. Deliverance, Sprint Burst/Lithe, WoO, Resilience. They've even buffed problematic perks like Built to Last to now be extremely time efficient and vigil exhaustion recovery has been an insane meta with 22 second sprint burst recovery. Botany got it's downside removed so now you can just self heal in 16 seconds like it's 2020 all over again.

I could go on for hours but I seriously don't understand where this whole "BHVR HATES SURVIVORS AND ALWAYS CATER TO KILLERS" mentality when all logic would point the other way around unless you play a small roster of killers (Nurse, Blight and now Krasue); which is no different than SWF getting to be the oppressive power role when they play on comms. Most people don't play the S-tier killers. According to NightLight's stats less than a fifth are playing Blight, Krasue and Nurse combined. Which is to say, most of the killer player is miserable too, just like the solo queue playerbase.

  • I can't help but notice the overwhelming downvoting of literally any comment here in defense of killer, and one of Raccoon's that was just neutral statement about how testing multiple major things in the PTB at once (map changes + anti tunnel + anti slug) can complicate test results.

And this is a common theme on the forums where certain things get downvoted for literally no logical reason, as if someone didn't like what someone was saying and logged into 12 alt accounts or something.

  • @Nazzzak said:

Then they need to focus on making the effects consistent across maps. Not just nerf the item into uselessness.

I mean yeah, what about my message suggested otherwise? Did people think I was justifying it? They were both useless and overpowered at the same time, then BVHR did the BHVR thing and over nerfed something instead of using their basic critical thinking skills or having more foresight than a goldfish.

  • Fog vials were an accessibility issue. It doesn't help that on maps like Dead Dawg they're still (even after the nerfs) somehow completely blinding with this white fog flash bang. So a lot of people are seemingly contradicting each other in their personal experiences with how "oppressive" or "useless" they are despite both sides actually being correct at the same time. I believe even the launch Fog vial + iri addon on Withered Isle maps did basically nothing, whilst like I said even the now nerfed version on Dead Dawg with no iri is a 10m area flashbang.

Also Kaneki is outclassed by Nurse, Blight, Billy and Twins (when they're not bugged to high hell). I think he may need side grades that push his power in a different more skill expressive direction instead of outright nerfs (Making the free injures less free and giving him something to play more with the anti-loop part that isn't vault spam).

  • I love how survivors can DC/"Abandon" before even hitting the ground if they're the last one standing, but killer has to wait 10 minutes after end game so survivors can… have their fun???

  • Because people absolutely hate Franklin's and will deny that Medkits (the main reason you run Franklin's) are still overpowered with things like suture addons, extra charges, insta heals and styptics (even then Franklin's needed the full 90 seconds on the ground to counter the last 2).

There is no perk that made people more upset than Franklin's, like even grim, pain res and DMS together are tolerated somehow. But the moment they drop their item against the m1 killer? instant DC. Franklin's is also a big cause for rage quitting in my experience as I get far more early DCs with Franklin's than without.

You can also tell people hate it just with a large part of the reception to the nerf being "Good, it was annoying/op/unfair/unfun etc". Not saying that the nerf is justified (it isn't), but unfortunately so many people hated it that they've probably pleased more people than angered.

What bugs? I play her occasionally and haven’t noticed anything.

Terrible hit validation on both vomits, your ears are absolutely obliterated when getting your red puke (unsure if this is patched yet but owie), if you get stunned whilst holding your vomit your movement speed is slowed to that speed until you vomit again, item crits are just really weird of a bug to exist (you get double infection if you perfectly hit a survivor's item) resulting in weird consistency on how much vomit is needed to infect. She also shared something with Bubba and Nemesis where for some reason their powers require the server to respond after the input before they can even start charging or releasing, resulting in these 3 being wildly effected by ping compared to most killers (in my experience atleast, never had high ping feel as terrible with anyone else, except maybe like Wesker)

The wiggle mechanic does not exist to be a potential get out of jail freecard, it's a mechanic to give the killer urgency to actually hook you before the 15ish seconds are up, forces them to hook in the general area and prevents the killer from just holding onto you forever. There are many perks to help you with the wiggle mechanic, such as boil over, flip flop and power struggle. But you're not supposed to get "value" from a base mechanic as that would punish the killer for… winning the chase?

It was brainlessly easy to see through them prior to the nerf. Now they might as well not exist and the iri add on will be worse than Oni's. If you would like to see brainless I suggest you check out current Clown (wasn't nerfed at all in the hotfix despite far more negative feedback from both sides both on PTB and live).

I never said I agreed with the state of Clown, it is just as much of a problem for the game. But the iri addon for fog vials was ridiculous. They "nerfed" it from the PTB but then actually increased the base opacity of fog vials from 33% to 40%, meaning they barely changed from the PTB outside of the iri having downsides. All you had to do is drop it in a place where you could go multiple different directions and it was a total guessing game in your favour.

  • Why are people acting like Franklin's was never a good perk? It has been a core part of almost every M1 killer build I run with sloppy butcher or a sloppy addon if applicable. I am versing 3-4 medkits almost every single game on average and simply having a medkit drop for a second is enough to make them worth one less heal. Sloppy + Franklin's helped dramatically with medkits and the ridiculous 4 second resurgence heal off hook.

As an added bonus, it completely shut down flashlights, and possibly a toolbox if you find that person first. Items are insanely powerful, removing them (even partially) from the equation makes a huge difference and was often the sole reason I win games. Now it's gone, so ig back to Blight by Daylight.

  • About the engie toolbox thing, thankfully you have very little input on what can have infinite charges, however this still unfortunately leaves a minimum of perma 50% (1.5x) gen speed or 60 second base gen times permanently with something as simple as scavenger to rummage for a toolbox or a key to have a better chance at a green toolbox.

I don‘t think this perk is good. For a tunneling killer it is pretty easy to just go for the exposed survivor and make them second hook instantly. This is without mentioning that you can be the first person found which deactivates the perk and you could also just force the killer to go for you when your teammates gets tunneled or the killer doesn’t tunnel which makes this perk pointless.

I mean Deliverance has all of these exact flaws and yet is indisputably an S-tier perk with quite possibly the single largest gut punch you can hit a killer with as a perk

  • Side note, a 3 second stun is literally current DS, since the issue with the old 3 second DS was that you spent a full second getting off the killer's shoulder. This is not an issue now. This is by all means DS but without the being tunnelled requirement.

Killer has never been easier, you can close your eyes and move around randomly and 4k

Just because your opponent's monitors are turned off doesn't mean you're him. Playing Nurse doesn't count either, pretty sure my dog can play her with nothing but Lethal and Nowhere to Hide.

Either way go ahead and show me how you intend to play the overwhelming majority of the killer roster without Bloodlust, Survivor vaults blocking shack window or any perks that hinge off of the chase mechanic.

It is a good killer perk, but I still have to find out how to equip it.

Jokes aside the invocation perks are completly flawed, because behavior is scarred to introduce any good new survivor perks.

The same patch they introduced Shoulder the Burden, which is casually one of the most overpowered perks in the game for SWF to steamroll 99% of killers even harder.
