  • Plague is awesome and almost top tier. And almost all her addons are really useful. If you are playing against solo you will have a good time as plague.

  • I don't think splitting the playerbase would cause problems, DBD has 70K concurrent players. The problem is that if the ruleset is the same in casual and ranked mode sweaty players that want to own noobs would just play in casual. I wish they try it with 2 different rulesets and rewards.

Well, I'm sorry for being considerate.

Can u explain to me why this "super almost non-existant environment" offers thousands of $ as prizes?

Dota 2 700K average players, prize of 5M - 35M dollars for winning a tournament, DBD 70K average players (10% of dota wich is not bad) and biggest prize was 20K dollars in Tokyo. DBD has a big playerbase and compared to its size the competitive scene is almost non existant, i don't think this is debatable.

Then you should know that Devs will not balance this whatsoever.

Their discord has channels for joining and making SWF squads.

Do you want to do something about this? Then look toward the BP grind and nothing more.

Competitive environment? You mean that super almost non-existant environment compared with the size of the game where if the killer gets 1K it's considered a good match?

  • If i got banned for afking in a game where there's a cheater I wouldn't have anything else to do with this game

Lately i see more and more cheaters in my game. Its really annoying to record this everytime.

Its a cheat which looks like this :

    • those people raise their ping and you cant pick them up
    • when you chase them you see them running just straight and feel like something is blocking you during the chase. Then these cheaters bump into an object, you hit there, suddenly they are somewhere behind you.
    • they often use no mither, so while you are not able to pick them up they just recover and get away again.

You as the fair player gotta watch this and cant disconnect, cuz you are the one who gonna be punished with the penalty.

Is this issue known ? Or being dealed with? I havent seen anything regarding this. So i posted this here

@mod´s if this is the wrong section, i am sorry, i didnt know where to put this

When I see a cheater like this I go afk looking down to make sure they don't get any chase points, tab out of the game to do something else and then report them.

  • I wouldn't consider it an exploit (an error of design specifically) because this is clearly intentional design feature or they would have changed it already or a warning of any sorts. Just hope the killer you are going against is not bubba if you do this. That is a legit tactic you should use if you want to maximise trihard in a match.

That's assuming she isnt soundbugged. Devs didnt confirm the changes were intentional. Let alone that Spirit can still track environmental movement and scratchmarks while phasing.

So those are gonna get fixed, that still makes Spirit problematic. IMO, they should simply remove scratchmarks from Spirit's basekit. Make it worth an addon slot in exchange of some of her absolutely broken addons.

Spirit is far from fine. She is still a problem. Just because she is bugged, doesnt mean she's fine.

That's like saying keys are fine, because they cannot open a hatch if more than 2 survivors are nearby the hatch due to a temporary bug.

You want to remove sound AND scratchmarks and still think moving grass is problematic? Do you want to play against a killer or a potato?

  • I agree that the nerf was bullshit, specially on big maps but I would buff bad slowdown/detection perks before pop to see more variety to be honest.

  • I don't see any weird thing, a 12 and a 20 is a difference of 5 hours of gameplay.

  • Do you really think that killers that complain about SWF only play killer? "Lets not fix a problem because there's another problem"

  • Nah, better let's make hatch spawn at 5 gens and 4 alive this will make keys really balanced.

  • Please no more maps, they clearly have no idea anymore how maps should be so I'm okay if they skip this part.

  • NO

    YES

    NO

    NO

[BAD WORD] the hatch mechanic and [BAD WORD] end game. Worst part where if you want the 4K you have to slug and spend a bunch of time trying to find a sneaky dude that could be anywhere.

  • This has to be a troll post. No way somebody can say that in good faith.

  • If yo go against a flash/sabo squad you will have fun, they usually ######### around and will get a lot of chases. If you go against an immersive squad you might aswell go afk if you don't have a high pressure killer.

Pop is 20 seconds, deadlock is 30 seconds. It's way better than pop. Not to mention you also have to kick then gen. Deadlock doesn't waste your time, it just GOES WITH THE FLOW.

Ok i feel stupid, i didn't realize that you meant for actual tournaments and not casual when it's in the ######### title. I actually agree with you that it might become meta lol. I just don't see it being very useful in casual, almost nearly useless.

I personally would of taken the 3k and started a new game. But if you want to dedicate the extra time to getting the 4k thats cool i get it there's time where i feel like i deserved the 4k but someone was hatch camping or what not.

Just to clarify i feel letting someone bleed out its a bit scummy it only my personal opinion and I don't think your a scummy person for doing it

The thing is that i think i actually saved time by doing this and at the same time secured the 4k.

Doesn't matter what they were doing. Doing cruel things to another player as some kind of "karmic retribution" for them being cruel to you is not how we should do thing as a community, and its why everyone hates DBD players. Be the bigger person, just let it slide. Take what kills you can get and be happy knowing that you don't need to prove your skill to anybody. Plus, you'll forget about whatever dumb thing they were doing in half an hour, its just not worth being that cruel.

Imagine thinking that winning in a videogame is "cruel". Gotta love the internet psycologists. I just had to wait 3 minutes to close the game 100% but apparently according to you i had to going back to the other survivor hoping i find him, then go back for the other, hoping that i also find him and then pray none of them find hatch before me or hide for another 5 minutes.

  • @Gamedozer7 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2442361#Comment_2442361

Could you of down the one you were body blocking and hooked the other before the second got to hatch?

Or just wait 3 minutes and make sure they don't hide when i come back for their bodies, specially with the no sound bug when they are on ground and even waste more than those 3 minutes and a potential escape.

  • @TacitusKilgore said:

Very stupid comparison. Invalidating another players entire experience just for your own ego is not cool. It is never necessary to 4k, the only purpose of killing all 4 survivors is to feel as though you have "truly" won the match. You've still won if 2 or 3 of them die. To effectively waste 3-4 minutes of another players time just so you can get all 4 of them is extremely toxic and 100% reportable. Not only is that bannable, but its straight up cruel.

I wished i had footage of that game and if you'd think the same after seeing what they were doing all game.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Were you body-blocking out of fear of the other player DC'ing to give hatch?

That has happened to me multiple times but wouldn't make much sense since it was the slugged guy that was near hatch, not the one that i was blocking. I was just making sure there weren't any weird Unbreakable shenanigans, or him hiding for 10 minutes, etc. I felt that i deserved the 4k and just had to wait 3 minutes to do so.

It does by a guaranteed 2 minutes. Splitting up and working on different gens is the most efficient strategy. And the most efficient strategy is ALWAYS used in tournament level play.

And guess what, in tournament play survivors get a ratio of 3 escapes and the only 2 killers that you see most of the time unless some ruleset that prevents it are nurse and spirit so it is an awesome perk to exist to prevent this playstyle that nobody likes. And even in best case scenario it's gets an average Pop value.

  • @RoboMojo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/274498/imagine-this-situation

It isn't considered holding the game hostage unless the game is unable to progress e.g. Survivors hide all game and never touch a generator. Bleeding someone out, whilst unpleasant, isn't bannable in any way as far as I'm aware. So, it shouldn't matter if they all reported you.

Yeah i know that i wasn't in the wrong but i'm worried that the reports might not be reviewed manually and there's a bot that takes decisions based on volume of reports, hope someone that knows this responds.

  • @Rez_Marsiel said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2442314#Comment_2442314

Ah yes, well here's the problem with that. Deadlock is a SLOWDOWN PERK that buys a guaranteed 2 minutes JUST LIKE CORRUPT.

It does not buy a guaranteed 2 minutes. Only in the BEST of BEST case scenario when all the time one survivor finishes a gen there's already another survivor doing another gen somewhere else. In wich case it is a great perk to difficult a little bit immersive squads that only split clicking m1 on gen and adrenaline ds out of the game.

  • Clown with the instakill addon. There's nothing else in the game that i hate more than that.

  • "There's no counterplay against tunneling!!!!" Oh and there's counterplay against 3 people split on gens calling each other to rotate when the chased survivor is coming near? There's a reason competitive killers play just nurse and spirit. There is totally counterplay to tunneling if you bodyblock and you don't have all survivors afk on gens.

  • @N_Crawler said:

I think it's good the way it is, it's just a little hard to play in.

    Please elaborate

  • If you don't have time ofc you want to secure the kill. Although facecamping as an instakill killer is not very smart, you want to bait them, make them feel like they can get the unhook and hopefully get more than 1 kill giving them a little space while you feel completly safe.

  • A Haddonfield offering is more op than keys and almost as ridiculous as old moris so yeah, they need to be removed or at the very least reduce by 4 the the chances on survivor side since they can stack it and killer can't.

  • Who cares, i've already got them and honestly the game is getting very inflated with new content to the point new players won't be able to keep up with pace. So I think that they should even consider stop paying other licenced killers royalties over the time.

  • Yeah, licenced just means you have to pay for it, you won't see as much personalization and updates and you won't get to see something original. I understand it attracts new players but i don't get why people that already play the game are excited when the killer is going to be licensed.

  • I like the layout of the map, i just hate the lighting of it to the point of ragequitting when i play it as nurse with all the light flickering when phasing through tiles, and they never fixed it so good riddance.

  • Lol no. People keep saying self care is bad but it isn't. "Just bring a medkit", yeah medkits are op that's not news. That doesn't make selfcare bad in good hands, it still saves the team time because it takes the same overall time to heal without counting the wasted time having to find a teammate, interrupt what he is doing... etc. Self care is already decent and I do not want a self care meta, please god no.

    So constant killer nerfs, right?

5.1.x brought with it Trickster buffs- which are now indisputably buffs after 5.1.x, as well as buffing killer perks "Hex: Crowd Control" and "No Way Out". Furthermore it brought with it a fix to grabs, which has been needed for a long time. Yes, pallet validation was also brought in, however this is less nerfing killers and more fixing an inequality that shouldn't have existed in the first place.

The way sound is effected by perks was buffed in the survivor's favour, that I will give. So far we're 1 for 1 on buffs and no nerfs yet.

Keys with 0 charges can now no longer open the Hatch- so there's our first survivor nerf.

5.0.x brought with it, obviously, Resident Evil- a map that is awful for both sides (so no points to either), good-ish survivor perks and good-ish killer perks (nothing meta though), and a meh killer. No points to either side. 5.0.0 did have some demo nerfs, so that's our first official killer nerf (current score is 1, 1, 1, 1; not looking good for the claim of "nothing but killer nerfs"), as well as the Franklin's change (which was a buff to all but keys- which has now been fixed), alongside the Lucky Break nerf. So that's 1 buff point to killer and 1 nerf point to survivors- they'll be getting a buff point soon.

I'll go one further back too because I cannot be bothered to do more- 4.7.x. Demogorgon got buffed- you cannot even attempt to argue it wasn't a buff- though there were also the Coldwind changes which are a survivor buff (since they somehow made them safer???). Current score of 2, 2, 2, 1. 4.7.x had more Trickster buffs, though this is slightly offset through a Twins nerf (which itself brought a Twins buff, though not enough to offset the extent of the nerf, as I'm only counting volume here I'm including it). We got a nerf to Freddy and pass to Huntress, giving her a couple of better add-ons but removing Iri Head and 90 second exhaustion- so this is both. (2, 5, 2, 3; SB, KB, SN, KN). Lucky Break got it's original buff, alongside a nerf to keys, Soul Guard, and OOO. BT was buffed, alongside Small Game and Open Handed, and Zanshin was there somewhere too. Final total for this paragraph is (6, 6, 4, 3; SB, KB, SN, KN).

And, uh, that's as far as I can be asked to go. 6 survivor buffs, alongside 4 survivor nerfs. 6 killer buffs, alongsider 3 killer nerfs. Going on the theory that a buff to one side is a nerf to the other, these can be combined into 9 survivor buffs and 10 killer buffs.

Remember, killers are constantly being nerfed.

About the grab "fix" let me laugh a couple minutes. Huntress got nerfed, i don't think it's honest to pretend otherwise, her exhaustion addons were godlike even if we ignore iri heads. And you are talking about individual killer buffs btw, not the overall "generic killer" vs survivor. Plus you can't just say "1 nerf 1 buff" as if they had the same value. The BT buff for example is massive, every single match there's at least 1 bt. The demo buff on the other side you'll get to see it in one in 20 games, because that's how often you play against him. Pallet validation has been the biggest killer nerf in a long long time. Buffs on "Crowd control and no way out" (perks that almost nobody uses) compared to iron will buff, wich at least one person will be using.

The metrics you are using mean nothing and are arbritary, different nerfs and buffs have a different amount of impact in the game.

  • I'm happy this is happening. I'm so sick of farmers. I just want to play the game ffs.

  • This game is designed with survivors committing mistakes on mind, the higher the MMR the less mistakes they make. If you want to win at higher ranks you need to tunnel and camp when it's valuable to do or you get stomped. That's how the game is. Specially when it's a swf and they get told where the killer is and get to Shift W before you can get to push the gen and bodyblock m1s of injured survivors.

Survivors won't let you get a free hook when you make a mistake, they will click and tbag. Don't expect killers to not capitalize on your mistakes. Welcome to ranked.

  • @Clowning said:

When do you usually play? Nothing has changed for me personally. During the day it's mere seconds for a Survivor queue, as the day progresses things get more equal, until Killer queues are instant.

Usually at 3 PM. I used to have 30sec queues at that time.

  • MMR seems to work well putting survivors of similar skill together, not that much putting survivors against killers at the same skill but at least seems like an improvement.

  • Sometimes you just want to pwn some noobs. I don't see any other argument against it. Oh and i've noticed longer queues, i hope they don't get unbearable.

  • Tha chat filter is just an excuse to save money because they don't have to moderate end game chat anymore.

  • Devour/Haunted Grounds. I've seen it more than once and it's better that it might seem.

  • How is wasting time playing nice? I allways hate when kilers just give up and make me farm when someone dc'd or he is stomping. Like just play normally and see how it goes, i want to play DBD not farmville.

  • I was skeptical about the MMR but I agree I think they nailed it for once. I actually felt like i was the potato survivor in my team for once.
