I'm a bit curious about that math. I thought that even there are 4 instances of UTA, the totally bonus is 36% (4×9%, it's 9% because you can't get the bonus of yourself ), isn't it?
If there also have 4 salty lips, then add 12%(4×3%) bonus, so it finally comes to 48% of bonus, right? But Where is the basic luck bonus(4%)?
I'm not sure actually. The card does say "other survivors" so maybe it's only 36% since it wouldn't count yourself. That would just mean you need 4 survivors with UTA and Salty Lips to hit the cap.

Except it removes all risk from already mindless plays but I know well enough you dont think that part through...
Right mindless plays, like how a killer can just sit in front of the hooked survivor and guarantee they die. Funny how that works. Almost like there should be a perk that can give some kind of added protection so that you can actually save the guy in an otherwise unsave-able position.

I've been saying this for a while now. Makes no sense that games like Gears 4/5 or Doom Eternal can run at a butter smooth 60 FPS / 1080p but this game can barely make 30 FPS. The truth is that the devs don't put in the resources to actually make the game run properly on console, they just do the bare minimum and focus all efforts on PC.

It has a cap? Learn something new every day...
Yepper doo.
4 instances of UTA hits the cap. Salty Lips gives +3% so if everyone offers it then 1 person can forgo UTA.
Fog also caps at purple fog. So if you offer purple fog then anyone offering any more fog is a waste. The only exception is if someone offers clear fog, as now the extra thick fog offerings will cancel it out. IIRC purple fog is equal to 2 yellow fogs is equal to 4 brown fogs. Clear fog is equal but opposite to yellow fog.
-
Nope. Only increases your chance to kobe or escape bear traps.
It also caps at 48%. So if everyone has Up The Ante using luck offerings is pointless.
-
Maybe if it's done like as the survivor is in a chase. I could see that being a thing. But in general no.
However FTP should definitely count for Second Wind. Kind of strange it doesn't. I know no one uses SW but still it seems to make sense for them to synergize together.
-
Shelter Woods isn't good for every killer. It's not that great for Ghostface because it's easy to see him coming a mile away. Also if survivors know how to run tiles, nearly every pallet on this map is safe and you have to break them as killer. It's also really easy to split the map. I think Shelter Woods is a fair map.
Swamp maps only favor killers that use totems. Main building on Grim Pantry is still strong even after the window change. There are a good amount of dead zones on these maps but if you play stealthy they can be rough for killers too.
Hawkins is a better example of a killer sided map. Very small, confusing layout, well hidden totems, and no sight lines to see where the killer is coming from. The only killers that are not so good here are like Billy and Oni. Pretty much every killer has a massive advantage.
Lerys also can be very killer sided but with there being as many windows/pallets as there are it's a bit of a coin toss.
-
Matchmaking is really awful right now.
As a rank 1 survivor I get rank 20 killers rather often. Out of 10 games, at least HALF will be rank 20, 3-4 will be red rank, and maybe 1 or 2 will be purple/green rank.
As a rank 1 killer all I get are red rank survivors, however every once in a while a rank 15 or lower sneaks into my game. It makes me feel bad because I would totally give these guys hatch if I knew beforehand (sometimes I could tell by the way they played and would do that). One game I played Clown with Infectious and offered Hawkins. My goal was to basically farm for the screaming challenge, but I wasn't going to explicitly farm. I don't play Clown so I was ready for a depip which I would have been fine with if I got my challenge. I got 2 yellow ranks and a rank 20 (like fresh out of tutorial rank 20) and 1 red rank Claudette. I tunneled the Claud because she made a very good effort to get my attention and teabag at each pallet, but then I just ended up farming with the other 3. They didn't KNOW we were farming, I would just chase them and toss bottles, hit them, maybe down them if I knew the others were around, and leave them. Took 1 hook on each, got Brutal after they all left. Literally had to carry the rank 20 to the hatch because she was too terrified to find the gate.
I also have 2 alt accounts. One is for playing green ranks as survivor where I don't do gens I just try to get chased by the killer and meme around, and where I play Huntress/Nurse pretty much exclusively for practice (hovering around purple ranks). The other account is rank 16 survivor and rank 20 killer, I have it to play with the handful of friends I have that DO NOT play the game at all regularly. As killer I don't even hook survivors I just carry them around until they wiggle off and basically farm BP while giving them scares and being silly. I let them all go. As survivor I just don't care what happens, but if the killer is tunneling/camping I go out of my way to take the death for the team so they can get out.
Anyway, I went on the second account recently (rank 20 killer) just to see what it's like for them right now. I played 2 games, first was against a full rank 1 SWF (people I knew too) and I almost got a 2k with perkless Oni on Game. Had the one doorway not been blocked I woulda had a 2k, but since it was and I couldn't get to the hooks they all got out. I don't really care though I was expecting it, I did a lot better than I thought. Second game was as you expect for a rank 20 killer, all yellow/brown rank survivors. One DC'd after I caught her even though she wasn't caught first and she saw that I wasn't hooking people. Let the others go but wow they took FOREVER to do gens.
So yea, the rank 20 experience, particularly as killer, is just awful right now. No rank 20 should have to go against red ranks. My group tends to be very nice to these killers when we think they are rank 20, but I'm sure that's not the norm. Most red rank SWF's probably bully the absolute crap out of these killers. And yea a few rank 20's have DC'd on us because they couldn't catch us, but it's not our fault. By the time we realize the guy is probably rank 20 it's too late.
-
My guess is that it was latency. He dropped the pallet on his end before you threw the hatchet, the action reached the dedi first and therefore it registered the hit on the pallet not on him.
Dumb but that's probably how that went down.

A killer that knows how skill survivors are and how you constantly beg for nerfs
Sure. 👍
-
Rank 1 killer.
I main Spirit. Though I don't play her all the time, she's the killer I enjoy playing the most and have the most time overall.
My next top picks are Ghostface and Legion. Billy too, but I can't play him currently because of that camera bug. It's just too frustrating to deal with.
After that I like to play Nurse, Huntress, and Trapper from time to time but those games can get frustrating because you need to practice a lot for the first 2 killers to maintain your skills, and for Trapper I feel like he can easily be bullied if you get bad RNG or just a really strong SWF.
I used to be an old Freddy main, he was one of my top picks, and I still play new Freddy once in a while but he's a completely different killer now and I just don't find him as fun. I just try to avoid playing him unless I have a daily or just want to turn off my brain for a game.
Lastly I really enjoy Plague but she's kind of a weak killer at high ranks and I don't play her enough to be good enough to verse most red ranks survivors. Hopefully she gets a few minor buffs in the future and I'll play her more.

This comment tells me all I need to know about what kind of killer you are.

Rank gives me an expectation about how good you should be at the game and/or how much you play.
If you farm a hook in front of the killer without BT...
... and you are brown/yellow rank then it's fine you probably didn't know any better and were just hoping for the best.
... and you are purple/red rank then I question how you got to where you are making stupid decisions like that.
If you try to mind game every pallet as killer, even the super safe ones that basically become infinites...
... and you are brown/yellow rank well I don't expect you to understand the fundamentals of the game just yet, especially considering the survivors you'd normally play against don't know what looping is either, let alone know how to optimize it.
... and you are purple/red ranks then I seriously wonder how the hell you got this far playing like that. You must dodge lobbies like crazy until you get the most potato survivors, and you are most likely a NOED gamer that relies way too heavily on bloodlust to catch survivors.

LOL yes that's exactly it. Has nothing to do with the fact that the situations where either of these events take place are borderline unwinnable for survivors without any requirement of skill or good play from the killer. Nope, not at all.
SMH
Plus it's not like Doc wouldn't be a strong killer if both were changed. Nope, even though people say these situations are rare doing this would completely nerf him into the ground and make him totally unviable.

I agree that the interaction between deep wounds and snapping out of it should be looked at.
Also if he's able to bring you up to tier 3 when the other one is slugged then it's pretty much game over anyway and not exclusive to the doctor.Changing his tier 3 only because of that specific situation would be the same like the last survivor being able to attempt to escape on the hook.
Making it possible to pick up downed survivor in tier 3 madness would also enable all the other healing actions thus making tier 3 absolutely worthless in the endgame.Sure he's a decent killer now after the rework but that's why i don't understand why one should nerf one important part of his kit.
"Also if he's able to bring you up to tier 3 when the other one is slugged then it's pretty much game over anyway and not exclusive to the doctor."
It is exclusive to him. Against any other killer you can actually make a play to get the person up off the ground and then reset the situation. Against Doc this is impossible because you can't heal the slug.
"Making it possible to pick up downed survivor in tier 3 madness would also enable all the other healing actions thus making tier 3 absolutely worthless in the endgame."
No it wouldn't. It can be made that you can only heal a dying survivor, I don't see why you think that would somehow be impossible from a programming perspective.
" I have multiple times and never went down. And I said already that a static blast doesn't down you. The interrupt doesn't give you regression, and you can run for 2 seconds to prevent the mending timer to go down."
The interrupt will cause your timer to tick for a moment and unless you react instantly (which is impossible human reaction is a quarter of a second AT BEST) you will lose time.
"I would say I roughly fail one madness skillcheck per 3 doctor games. That this one failed skillcheck happens while I'm mending after being unhooked with a BT2 and the killer hit me but didn't tunnel me so I was able to snap and mend, I would say happens at MOST once a month, rounding up. And I blame that case on me, not on the evil madness 3. And I still don't go down in that case, I search for someone to heal me or take the agression to allow others to do gens or prevent someone else to go down with an easier position than me."
First it sounds like you don't play survivor all that often because Doc is super common at high ranks, at least on Xbox. Second, I doubt that you hit every skill check that consistently. I have 3k hours in this game, mostly as survivor, I can hit great skill checks consistently and even Unnerving Overcharge skill checks but it's still not difficult to fail at least 1 Snap Out skill check per game if the Doc is any good at what he does and pressures you. The only way for you to almost never fail a skill check like that is if you run clear across the map and waste 30 seconds just to get to a super duper safe spot before you do it, which means that you are wasting massive amounts of time or the Doc isn't very good. Third, relying on someone to heal you was the ORIGINAL problem with BT the devs sought to fix. That's why Deep Wounds came about because they wanted to have an action you can do WITHOUT the need for another teammate. It's why they added clocks to Freddy so that you can wake up when you are the last survivor and there's no option to fail a skill check.
"So why calling madness a threat? That came from you. Beneath that, Deep Wounds is lethal, you go down from that, it is just too easy to counter to actually call it lethal."
Threat =/= lethal. Madness 3 forces you to waste time before you can perform actions and reveals you position constantly to the killer. It's part of the reason Doc is probably the strongest killer in a 3 gen because he can outright STOP you from repairing. Other killers have to actively protect the gens but Doc doesn't. Deep Wounds is similar, but instead of just blocking actions it threatens you with going into dying if you don't do something about it. It's not meant to down you unless you just fail to do the action. However not having the option to do the action makes it an unfair threat because now you have no choice but to go down. This was the exact problem with old Legion. You just straight up didn't have the option to avoid eating the DW timer and going down. Doc shouldn't get an exception for basically the same thing.
"As I said, if the killer camps a slug and gets rewarded for that -> survivor fail. Just don't do that against a doc without good reason. If 2 survivors left -> yeah, probably easier endgame for doc, but at that point I'd already say well played again."
My point was mainly regarding the last 2 survivors, but killers can force altruism. If it's a situation of 3 survivors and 2 or more gens then all the Doc needs to do is slug the guy near 2 of the 4 gens and protect them, shocking anyone that comes near and blocking them from healing the slug.
"From my point of view I could also ask why survivors need these changes. Because I already repeated that you have plenty possibilities to not go down by that oh so unfair scenario, which takes place maybe once a month. I really think this is not a game breaker at all and that things like that are purely raised by bad survivor play. And therefore I would never vote up to put development time into something that barely touches me"
I've explained why... because it puts them in unfair unwinnable situations. Against a GOOD Doc, they can make you go down from DW timer by pressuring you and using Static Blast or shocking you. It is very game breaking when it happens, maybe not every Doc game but it happens enough that it's a problem.
Again, WHY DOES THE DOC NEED IT? There are more reasons to change it than there are to keep it. Your argument basically boils down to "well it doesn't happen enough" yea neither does a 3 man escape with a key but you wouldn't sit here and tell me keys are fair I'm sure (and no it's not common either, I see key +3 man escapes as survivor or killer maybe once every 10 games where there is a key, most of the time when someone brings a key they are the only one to escape sometimes also a second). Know what else doesn't happen often is a mori spam, yet that was changed because it was stupid WHEN IT WOULD HAPPEN. Just because something is infrequent doesn't automatically make it fair.
Doc does not need either of these things. PERIOD. He is strong enough that they can be changed and it won't hurt him.

This is not a problem of the perk, I said already that I think it is not a problem, if there is that single situation where Madness 3 has actually a threatening effect. And you are STILL able to play around that easily, except for that BT1 thing, which is still affordable. It is not like you "have no choice but go down".
And as I said, skillchecks are pretty easy. If you think they are that difficult to make it more common to fail these than hitting them, then you have a problem with his complete basekit, regressing all the gens you work on. Then the mending/snapping issue is the minor problem.
Not being able to repair is not a threat. It is not lethal. It is slowdown, nothing else. Same reason why Deep Wounds is not a threat. When have you lately seen someone go down because of mending? The only two things where I see a threat in madness 3 is when I can't make use of a styptic in chase. And it does not give the killer free slugs, because it takes quite some effort to get ALL survivors into madness 3 at which point I would say well played. And STILL it takes 12 seconds to revert that effort. Good luck at keeping all survivors at level 3 while chasing everyone down.
And I have told you. I think madness 3 is not a threat, so I'm fine with that "single rare situation" where madness 3 is strong (strong, not uncounterable). And there IS harm to the doc, exactly the reason why you complain about it.
"And you are STILL able to play around that easily"
I question whether or not you've actually been in the situation where you have both Madness 3 and Deep Wounds at the same time. Even if it was from BT3 there is still a good chance you will go down if he uses Static Blast to interrupt you.
"And as I said, skillchecks are pretty easy."
Easy but the punishment for a SINGLE error is way too high. Again all that needs to happen is you fail 1 skill check which can happen even for experienced players when there is a lot going on. Unless you mean I should run clear across the map to do this, but we all know that's just impractical and silly. I shouldn't have to do that to ensure I don't get severely punished for a single relatively easy to make mistake.
"Not being able to repair is not a threat. It is not lethal. It is slowdown, nothing else. Same reason why Deep Wounds is not a threat."
They are not meant to be lethal. They are meant to be slow down mechanics.
"And it does not give the killer free slugs, because it takes quite some effort to get ALL survivors into madness 3 at which point I would say well played."
It's not all that hard if you stay near the slugged survivor and Static Blast/Shock any survivors that get close. And when there are 2 survivors left it is very much a free slug. Slug one, put the other in Madness 3, now there is no chance for them to recover from that situation. No other killer can do this. If you want to slug as any other killer there is still a chance the survivor can revive the other one and they reset the situation. Doc gets a free slug in this case and there is nothing you can do about it.
"I think madness 3 is not a threat, so I'm fine with that "single rare situation" where madness 3 is strong"
It's not meant to be a THREAT, and strong is an understatement. It's borderline broken because of the way these effects interact with each other. The devs even said on stream on time around Doc's rework that they will be looking at how Deep Wounds and Madness 3 play out, and make changes if necessary. Well, turns out that change is needed after all.
"And just to mention: I think when multiple people are slugged and the rest on tier 3, it is most likely bad team play. I would guess that is over altruistic behaviour, like crouching around in the doc radius exposing themselves and causing this multiple slug/madness, because "getting this slug up is so GAWDDAMN Important right now!" Multiple slugs is almost always caused by bad survivors, failing flashlight attempts or hiding like derpface in scary movie."
It's not necessarily bad team play as much as it is just Doc getting stuff for free. He can actually slug very effectively. Of course it does rely on altruism, but considering Doc can ALSO be incredibly strong in a 3 gen he can force this altruism in a lot of situations.
Deep Wounds/Madness 3 are not meant to kill you. The killer has to ACTIVELY do something for that to happen. They are time sinks, meant to waste survivor time while the killer does whatever they need to do. But the way these two mechanics interact with each other lead to several rather unfair outcomes that can't be avoided, much like old Legion.
Again what does it hurt Doc to make these 2 changes? He is still a plenty strong killer without them. He has all the tools necessary to control the game and catch survivors. He has tracking, slow down, and anti-chase tools at his disposal, he doesn't need these 2 things. Unless you can justify keeping them then you honestly have no argument. MAYBE old Doc would have needed them (I would still say he didn't) but new Doc definitely does not need them.

I said that already. BT2 gives you 15 seconds, snap out takes 12. You need to fail a skillcheck to not be able to make it in time, unless you waste time for no reason. And skillchecks are easy. It is just BT1 that does not allow you to take care of yourself, then you need to find someone to mend you. And 1) you should maybe get out of TR and not mend/snap near the killer or 2) run 2 circles for the 2.5 seconds you get blocked to stop mending regression. It is really not that hard to play around that to be honest, no need for "perfect play".
Beneath that, madness 3 is in most cases not really a threat. When I play doc, I barely try to get someone to madness 3 depending on the addons I use, because it just allows survivors to get back to tier 1 with literally no effort. Making you lose all the afflictions. So if there is this one situation, where madness 3 puts some threat on the survivors while NOT denying you any chance to play around it (run, save progress, find someone else, I mentioned it twice now) then I would say it is pretty fine.
They changed BT to apply Deep Wounds specifically so that you can do it without the need of another survivor. We don't need to revert back to that.
Getting out of the TR of Doc is easier said than done. Most Doc's run Distressing, which makes their TR 40m. This besides the fact than unless you have Spine Chill you can't know for sure if you are out of his TR because there are a lot of fake TR effects with Madness. Therefore this is not always a valid option.
Failing 1 skill check reverts progress, so that 12 seconds is now 15. With Doc's skill checks being backwards or not always on the center of the screen it's actually not that hard to miss a skill check, especially if you are unsure if he is even near you.
The threat of Madness 3 is that it blocks specific actions, namely repairing and healing. Healing from injured to healthy makes sense, but blocking someone from being healed from dying does not as it just gives the killer free slugs. The fact you need another survivor to heal you off the ground is the deciding factor here, as you can still run from the killer and avoid death while injured, but in dying you are at the mercy of other survivors being able to help you.
Again tell me why Doc needs either of these things? You haven't done that. You've given me what to do against it, which are not really valid all things considered since several of the potential circumstances lead to you inevitably going down, or being completely unable to get back up. No other killer has the ability to completely block survivors from healing slugs. If they want to do that they need to actively stop you. Doc doesn't, he just needs to use Static Blast and Shock Therapy a few times and now there is no way to recover. It's just a losing situation that he gets for free.
Legion was able to cheese DW timer, but it's somehow okay that Doc can do it now? Sorry no, that shouldn't be a thing no matter what killer it is. There is no harm in pausing the DW timer when in Madness 3, or allowing survivors to heal slugs off the ground.

That's just the case for tier 2 BT. With Styptic or tier 3 you would need to fail MULTIPLE skillchecks. And as I said, even with tier 2 I'm not worried because it is an easy skillcheck. If you get interrupted is also not a problem as progress is saved and Mending stops while running.
Let's face it, the most common source of Deep Wounds is BT. Styptic is a completely separate thing, on top of the fact it's still a free hit and should be changed to something more like Needle anyway. But the only way you can Snap Out before the DW timer expires is if the person has BT3. If they have 1 it's impossible, and if they have 2 it's a very good chance you won't be able to get it. All it takes is one static blast, you scream and stop the Snap Out while your mend timer goes down. You will be losing bits of timer each time that happens or you need to stop because you can't start running instantly. Human reaction time is AT BEST a quarter of a second, meaning that any time you need to stop you are probably going to lose that much time or more on DW.
The whole issue is that you are going down unless you play it perfectly. Again tell me what is the harm in pausing the DW timer until you can Snap Out? You can't do gens or anything, so it's not like you are going to use that 20 seconds to do something else. Doc gets that time, only now you're not totally cucked from a single Static Blast or another survivor that doesn't have BT3.

Doc got hit pretty hard with Nurse's calling nerf (he used to be able to see people snapping out) so this has already been dealt with in a way.
It hasn't though because the issue isn't about Snap Out or DW individually, it's how they interact together. Coupled with the fact he can much more easily interrupt your progress by using Static Blast, it just makes for a very unfair situation. You can't necessarily CHOOSE to be given BT, of course it's better than being farmed and going down right away, but when you can't avoid eating the DW timer you might as well just go down right away. The end result is basically the same, especially because the killer sees your notification bubble where you go down.

you mend first THEN snap out.
Snap Out takes priority. You have to do that first. And if it was the other way around then you just end up screaming while you mend, which is equally as lame.
The only reasonable solution to this interaction is to just pause DW timer when you are in Madness 3. You still have to do 20 seconds or more of actions to be able to do anything of value again, only now the killer doesn't have a way to subvert the DW timer (which BTW was the major issue with Legion, so why it's okay for Doc to do something similar doesn't make sense).
Fact is Doc doesn't need either of these effects to work the way they do. DW/Snap Out interaction needs to change, and survivors need to be able to heal slugs when in Madness 3. It's just unfair currently, and Doc is PLENTY strong in his current state without either of these. Like really what is the argument to keep them as they are? Doc doesn't need it, and it makes his kit more fair without them. It's just excessively lame to deal with these things as survivor, and gives him a HUGE advantage he can live without.

Actually it makes no sense at all to stop Deep Wounds. But it also does not make sense that Deep Wounds stops when you are running. So if they need to make strange changes to fix the game, they probably would do it.
I don't see addons that increase the snap time needed. And I just found one reference to duration from patch 1.5.something that says it was increased to 12 seconds. BT has 10/15/20 seconds of mending time and styptic has 20 seconds. So the average would be that you have plenty of time to snap out of it. Tier 1 is impossible yeah. Tier 2 would require you to hit all skillchecks. If that is a problem... well, the skillchecks are as easy as sealing a Demo portal.
Okay yea I just checked his add-ons, I swear there was one that made it take longer to Snap Out.
Regardless all that needs to happen is you miss one skill check or get interrupted and now you can't finish the action before you go down. It's just dumb. Give me a reason why it should work that way? Where the survivor basically has no option but to just go down? It's completely unfair. It doesn't hurt Doc at all to have the DW timer pause when you have to Snap Out because you still have to do 20+ seconds of actions before you can really do anything.
-
Bro just take the L. You won't get better as killer if you quit when things get tough.
This isn't a single player game. Quitting because "game not fun" isn't a valid excuse, you are ruining the game for 4 other people. Suck it up and play through it. Every multiplayer game has it's ups and downs, and everyone, even the best players, had to pay their dues and take them punches to get better.

If you have been afflicted with deep wound in tier 3, does the game have you mend first, or will you have to "snap out of it"?
No Snap Out happens first.
You have barely enough time to Snap Out before you can mend HOWEVER if Doc has that one add-on that makes Snap Out take longer, or interrupts you, or you fail a skill check you can't Snap Out before the timer goes down.
When you are in Madness 3 you can't do anything anyway, so pausing the timer wouldn't be detrimental to the effect. You still have to do 2 actions that take about 20-25 seconds total. They could change it to have mend take priority, but then you end up with situations where you scream while mending and give away your position. It just makes a lot more sense to pause the DW timer when in Madness 3.
-
I support this 1000%.
Also pause Deep Wounds timer if you are in Madness 3.

It comes down to reasons. Are there good reasons to DC? Yes. Is there reasonable disagreement about what counts as a good reason? Sure. At the end of the day, can you compel someone to play a game if they feel they have no incentive to do it? Nope.
Given the DC penalty, I'm surprised that, at least according to the devs, there hasn't been a discernible increase in hook suicides. I'm wondering if people have found that to be true in their experience? I feel like hook suicides have skyrocketed.
That's because people still DC and just eat the 5 minute timer. I've seen no difference in DC rates since the penalty was added to Xbox very recently.

And got killed ? So you DC like a baby instead of just bleeding out
I'm glad the DC penalty hit i was with up until you DC and blamed that its killer sided.
Just all it a map issue, take it like an adult instead of tribal suvior vs killer role ism whiney DCtrash
It always spawns though.

If they remove the breakable wall right next to that window (the one that leads to the balcony of the saloon) that would fix this room.
I can understand their logic in wanting to block off the one door to this room since it was a VERY strong loop if you run to the window, but there's is literally 0 reason to break these walls as killer. I personally felt this area was fine previously, as a killer could destroy the loop by breaking the walls. I thought that was kind of the point of breakable walls. It lets them put in really strong window loops in some areas that can be made significantly weaker by breaking the walls.
Alternatively give the survivors a way to break walls themselves. Should be able to use Saboteur to break walls. Then you can make areas that are strong for survivor or killer and the other side has to break the walls to make them weaker.
Hopefully this was just an experiment with breakable walls and they will change it in the future. IIRC they said they would be messing with this map to test different ideas of how to best implement the breakable walls on other maps.

'And like I said, those DC's are fine'
You never said they're fine, you literally said they're supposed to play it out in your little rulebook and enjoy the terrible FPS. Anyways, it's like you literally didn't read anything I said, I said if it's the other percentage of DC's, then I'm on your side, you had no reason to quote me again, and argue out the same exact point that I ended.
If some people DC because of frames, let them. If they don't wanna play at 5 FPS because they aren't used to it, let them DC. Stop making a fuss over it and being a lil kid over it, I literally said I'm on your side for the point your supposed to be arguing, which is that most the DC cases are to 'avoid a loss'.
You're literally wasting your own time going in circles, it's hilarious, and on top of that, you're also contradicting what you said earlier by now agreeing with me. Again, don't quote me unless you got something useful to say. Also, stop repeating your same points and contradicting other points. What are you even achieving out of it?

Fair enough, I take it back. Like I said to someone else though, if it's a literal GAME BREAKING bug then it's not a cop out. But people will use ANY excuse to DC, so if they get stuck for a few seconds or experience a minor amount of lag and DC, THAT is the cop out. And when you sympathize for every little thing that happens to a player they will find more and more reasons to DC. Give an inch they take a mile. That is the problem here, and when 99% of DC's are clearly from losing/being outplayed then it's a valid argument to say "deal with it" because otherwise you just enable this bad behavior to continue. No every bug is game breaking, and in fact majority of them are not. And don't take that as "it never happens" because that's not what I'm saying.
And again I never mentioned any of this in my first post. I'm talking most strictly about people that DC because they are losing. IDGAF how much it sucks, if you DC because you are losing then you should get no sympathy.
The reason I replied to you as I did is because you misconstrue my entire argument. You put words into my mouth about things I wasn't even referring to. This isn't the first time you've done this either. It's been an ongoing thing. I say one thing, you twist it and say I said some other thing or bring up something irrelevant to the conversation. Respond to the actual arguments people make.
But when I say this I'm talking about the game literally being unplayable. Poor FPS is not unplayable unless it's 1 frame per second. 20 FPS is still entirely playable. It will suck, but you can manage. 5 FPS is a complete exaggeration. That's basically a slide show, I've never seen frame rate this bad, either from my own Xbox or watching my friends stream. Hell I doubt this would actually even happen on PS or Switch. MAYBE it's happened a few times over the course of the game's life span, but don't sit there and tell me it happens enough to justify a DC.
"I said if it's the other percentage of DC's, then I'm on your side, you had no reason to quote me again, and argue out the same exact point that I ended."
Then why are you arguing with me?
"Stop making a fuss over it and being a lil kid over it"
Gee I'm the one that shouldn't make a fuss over it and I'm being a lil kid. But then when someone DC's from a game because they have less than optimal frame rate that is still entirely playable that's not making a fuss/being a lil kid. Seems hypocritical if you ask me.
"you're also contradicting what you said earlier by now agreeing with me"
I'm not. This thread has been about people that DC to avoid a loss. People came in here to cry "but muh frames" or "but these bugs" or "but my real life problems" I wasn't talking about them. They made it about them and tried to fight with me about it.
"Also, stop repeating your same points"
Could literally say the same thing to you. If I'm such a lost cause why continue to reply?
Just to make it clear:
- This thread is about people that DC to avoid a loss.
- If you have a GAME BREAKING issues or a real life emergency or something more important than the game, this thread is not about you.
- Poor frame rate, bad ping, or single instances of bugs that have no long term impact on your ability to play the game are not LEGIT REASONS to DC. Seriously you can tough it out in these instances and fix the issue AFTER the game ends.
- Vast majority of DC's fall into #1. A very tiny fraction fall into #2. Another tiny fraction (though likely larger than #2) fall into #3 which then people use as an excuse to DC and selfishly screw over the other 4 players in the game.
Nothing you say will convince me that it's okay to DC when you are having a bad time. Poor frame rate is a bad time. It's not unplayable. Being stuck without any way to move is unplayable. Having your character fall through the floor is unplayable. Having a completely black screen is unplayable. Getting hit when 10m from a window on time because of a lag spike is NOT unplayable. It sucks, but that's no reason to DC. You're never going to convince me it is, so stop trying if that's what you intend to do.
-
The devs have this rule that each character needs 2 tier 3 purple perks and 1 tier 3 green perk, yet there are a few purple perks that are worthless and a few green perks that at meta. They do it based on the assumed strength of the perk but it's not an accurate reflection.
I would just make the list purely alphabetical and change perks to be yellow-green-purple for tiers 1-2-3 respectively. It just makes more sense that way and it absolves the devs of trying to gauge the strength of a perk outside of live servers.

I never defended the issue, only the point. I think it sucks, and people DC on me a lot too, I get just as mad as you. I mean you really think I 'support them'? I hate DCing people, but if they legitimately have a reason, I can't get mad. Anyways, I've played on console where framerate was literal trash, so it wouldn't affect me at all even if it did happen nowadays, since I'm used to it, but for people who've never experienced the low FPS, I can definitely understand why they'd DC.
Anyways, the salty DC's I can never support, so stop acting like I do when I've pointed it out numerous times that I don't support them smh. But the DC's which have reasons, I can definitely understand. Anyways, I've had that hook bug before, never DC'd, in fact, I haven't DC'd in DBD since 2 years ago probably.
'Legit unbelievable you guys support them' stop strawmanning and acting like we support it, just deal with it, smh. If they can't play with low FPS, then there's no point in playing. And some people wont be used to low FPS like me, so I can definitely get WHY they'd want to DC. You need to open your mind to it as well.
I mean, they don't do it for their 'ego', some people do it because they CAN'T play. And I think your a console player, so you wont even understand what I mean by some people can't play on low FPS, as I used to, but if you play PC for a while, you will definitely see why.
Who even cares about an 'ego' if they DC? Such a flawed argument, people who DC literally show their name and basically humiliate themselves. So therefore, if people explain why, and say that they can't have played in the circumstances I'd happily take the L and move on.
Don't quote me unless you have something useful to say, and not driven of your rage of being DC'd on. ( just FYI in case you didn't STILL get it, if they're DC's from salt, then I'm on your side, if they have a reason to, then I'm not).
"I mean, they don't do it for their 'ego', some people do it because they CAN'T play."
The people that DC for this reason (or some kind of emergency) is very very VERY rare. I'm not talking about these people. I'm talking about the vast majority of people that DC to avoid a loss. Like overwhelming majority. 99 times out of 100, being generous.
I'm on Xbox. Frame rates suck. Still not an excuse to DC mid-game though. In most cases where bugs occur the game is still entirely playable. I can literally count on both hands in my 3k hours instances where a player, either someone else or myself, had some kind of absolute game breaking bug where they were unable to play, and half of those have been since the last update when killers get stuck at pallets/lockers/hooks. So I don't buy this "well the game bugs/there is an emergency" bull ######### because nearly every DC is going to be from salt.
"stop strawmanning and acting like we support it"
You are though. By pointing out that maybe 1 in 100 DC's is legit and that any sort of bug or technical issue enough reason for it that's called enabling. Just look at some of the replies. They IMMEDIATELY jump to "well what about when I get stuck or something happens I need to leave?" That accounts for less than 1% of the DC's that occur. And like I said, those DC's are fine, but when you jump down my throat for calling people out on their bull #########, you're just making the problem worse.

If my internet suddenly drops and I have a ping of 400, you can bet your ass I'm DCing. If I get a bug that prevents me from playing how I want to then you can bet I'm DCing.
It's a game, I'm meant to have an enjoyable experience and if technical or game errors is getting in the way of that then I will DC. It's not me "rage quitting" or "trying to not lose". If I'm not having an enjoyable experience then I'm going to DC and fix that problem.
So then it's totally fine you screw up that "enjoyable experience" for 4 other players instead of just toughing it out for what, 10 minutes AT MOST before fixing it?
Talk about selfish.

If my internet goes haywire, I quit for the day as to not affect anyone else's gameplay. The connection's enough to keep me at 80 ping for majority of my games, but there's always gonna be the pregame lobby where I see my 300 ping and call it a day.
Pre-game lobby that's fine. But if you go into a game and suddenly your ping drops, just play out the game else you are ruining the game for 4 other people. Sorry but your fun does not surpass the fun of 4 other players.

And have a horrible experience? No, It's better to fix it. That's common sense. You're probably mad that someone DC'd in your games and you depipped or something. There are some cases where people SHOULD DC. It's common sense to sometimes.
Suck it up and just play. Is it really that big of a deal if your frame rate is dropping or you are lagging to finish a game? I had a game about 2 weeks ago where I got stuck hooking someone as Billy. I would have won that game. But I didn't DC I just went AFK until they all left which was about 3 minutes (less than the time of the DC penalty), plus I got to keep my BP and credit for my dailies. IT IS NOT THAT BIG OF A DEAL. Just stay in the game and take the L. Leaving like that is honestly just an excuse to avoid feeling like you lost. "I didn't actually lose that game, I had bad frame rate/lag and DC'd so it doesn't count. My EGO is still intact." That's basically what's happening.
This besides the fact that, as I've mentioned, 98% of DC's are because the person is salty they lost. The amount of people that DC for technical or real life issues is FAR OUTPACED by the amount of people that DC because they are mad they got beat. And by saying "well these are legit reasons to DC" just enables people to DC even more for similar but less extreme reasons. Give an inch they take a mile.

Just a warning, if you have Pop active and then Surge activates you lose Pop. Seems to be a potential bug, I wouldn't go using them together for now.
As for why survivors get weird, probably because Surge isn't use a lot and it takes a moment to realize what happened. If you are on the gen it acts like an instant failed skill check so people may look around or something to make sure they aren't lagging, because invisible/auto-fail skill checks usually only happen when you lag. It also makes the gen sparks red which is the same as Pop so if they weren't on the gen they might think you have Pop when it was actually Surge.

Hits close to home as someone whose best available option due to where I live is a max 10 Mb in a household where I'm not the only person using the internet. Occasionally my green ping from the pregame lobby turns to a consistent red ping indicator finding a home at the top left of my screen before I find the first survivor.

Also, don't go roping in all the rocket scientists into your argument, you're makin em look bad.
"You can't sit there and tell me people play for fun when they DC at the drop of a hat for the lamest of reasons."
My comment about finding humor in you saying I can't claim people are playing for fun when people ragequit against you occasionally wasn't me saying that obvious ragequitting isn't obvious. It was me pointing out how you seem to just outright omit the possibility that not every DC is to save face. Notice you using the word "they" instead of "people." Makes it out like I'm defending ragequits when I'm simply telling you not every DC is necessarily due to someone's irrational phobia of a poor results screen. It's possible for people to have internet issues. It's possible for people to be interrupted by real life issues. It's possible for people to prioritize not playing through a match due to these things over your lil video game.
"Makes it out like I'm defending ragequits when I'm simply telling you not every DC is necessarily due to someone's irrational phobia of a poor results screen."
Except that's exactly what it is almost every time and that you can easily tell that. The amount of people that DC for legit reasons is VERY VERY LOW.

You mean the part where I said what if I DC for <Insert numerous reasons because of bugs here> and you responded with:
If the game bugs that sucks but if you DC that's a cop out.Again, according to you, if I DC due to a bug that completely destroys the game for me, I'm just a loser who rage quit and should have stayed in a broken game where I could learn to get some skill -- somehow. That was the answer I was given and what you've given to others.
And to that, I say: "No I'm not a loser who rage quit." I left due to a bug -- not because I was about to lose. And you don't get to dictate what I, or anyone else is, if the reason for quitting doesn't fit your fictional rulebook. Sorry, but I'm not going to learn to "get better" if the game's performance becomes so bad that my controls are physically not responding, and I'm certainly wasting my time sitting there in a non-playable game when I could leave the game, and then fix said problem. You can say I'm making excuses all you want. At the end of the day, that's just you stereotyping. You don't actually know why, and even when given a reason, you still decree "No, you did this for this reason because I said so" which, sorry, that ain't going to fly with me.
This doesn't make me a rage quitter. It makes me someone who quit the game, because there was a technical problem with said game that made playing the game properly impossible.
Now I'm not going to leave because I can't repair one side of a generator or something small like that, but if it seriously impacts my ability to play the game like not being able to blink as Nurse, I'm going to leave. I don't have to be forced to stay in a broken match. That's BHVRs responsibility to fix and not my responsibility to have to deal with it and according to the rules of the game, I am fully within my right to leave the match, as I try my best to leave as few matches as possible and am not excessively DCing.
If me having that stance is somehow "bullying you" and "rallying others against you" (I've rallied nobody by the way -- they just have the same opinion as I do that people aren't salty rage quitters if they leave because there's a multitude of reasons why someone may leave a game besides avoiding a loss), then uh, you need to get a thicker skin, I guess? Don't know what to say to this, to be honest. You posted your opinion on an open forum. Prepare to have people not agree with you.
I may not like you and we've butted heads a few times already, but me not liking you is not the same as me hating you, and I certainly do not care to bully you. "Hate" is a strong word, and the amount of people I've actually "hated" in my life I can count on both hands and one of feet.
Fair enough, I take it back. Like I said to someone else though, if it's a literal GAME BREAKING bug then it's not a cop out. You know I find it pretty funny how you are apparently being offended that I'm villianizing you, when you are the one who is demanding that anyone, ANYONE who DCs for any reason beyond what you deem as "justfiable" as being a rage quitter.
If it's not nice for you to allegedly be "villianized", maybe you should stop doing it to other people. Just some food for thought.
If you rage quit because you are salty you lost then you don't deserve sympathy.
How is this statement so hard to misconstrue?
I never villainized them. I never said "send these people hate messages they are awful people". I merely said that they don't deserve sympathy, like the kind you give them because "they had a bad game" for the sole reason that it simply encourages them to DC any time they are losing.
But then you come in here, misrepresent my argument ENTIRELY and say I should have more empathy for players that behave badly. So yea, it's a little offensive when you are doing to me what I'm not actually doing to other people.
Almost like you have some kind of agenda against me in particular. Then you get others to rally against me. Sounds like bullying, does it not? Where is your empathy now?

There's that gamer insight I know and love. The kind of insight that can sniff out all the DCs as merely ragequiting and nothing else. Even the ones that aren't even taking place in his games! He's even got the stats to prove it!
Alright, to be fair, you did include the 5% of burning hardware and dying wives out there. Mad respect for that one.
But let's be reasonable for a minute here, gamer. If a hat drops, what am I supposed to do, not pick it up?! At a certain point, you gotta realize the severity of the situation.
It's funny how I can't say people play for fun when a group of people rage quit on you occasionally. Hysterical, really. Although, I would recommend getting newer material. You can only try and freshen up this "supreme gamer" routine for so long before your bits end up becoming stale.
It's pretty easy to tell when someone DC's because they got outplayed or about to lose. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that. I've seen killers DC when they were winning, pretty sure those aren't salty ragequits. But when I pallet save someone and then the killer loses track of them and 2 gens pop and they stop moving, you can BET that is a ragequit.
"It's funny how I can't say people play for fun when a group of people rage quit on you occasionally."
When people rage quit after getting outplayed, they can't say "muh fun" as an argument. That's pure salt and you know that. If people played for fun they wouldn't care so much about losing that they leave the game the moment things start going downhill.

You guys keep bringing this irrelevant stuff that has nothing to do with the conversation to make me look like a villain. Read the first post again.
If the game is bugged where you LITERALLY cannot play that is a different story. But nearly ALL DC's are because the person was mad they got outplayed or were about to lose. THIS THREAD IS ABOUT THEM.
Both of you continuously misrepresent my argument to make yourselves seem so virtuous for having empathy for people that don't deserve it. Only a small fraction of DC's are for legit reasons. The rest are people salty they lost. Tell me why you would defend this?

Please explain to me how me saying "Sorry you had a bad game. Good luck in the next one." is me enabling people to DC?
I'm not encouraging people to DC, I'm not telling people to go and do it, I'm not telling them it's okay to DC. I'm not patting them on the back for DCing.
Deciding not to be an ######### to someone who DCs is not me enabling anything. That's simply me not being a dick. And if you think insulting someone who DCs is going to make them stop DCing, then you are woefully out of touch with society and how humans function when they are upset.
From my experience, most people who rage quit feel bad about it when you treat them like another human-being as opposed to labeling them and treating them like garbage. At least on PC, anyway.
I've made a couple friends that way. Turns out they were actually some pretty cool and chill people, not these salty loser jerks who habitually DC to avoid an L and will never learn to play the game. We all have bad games and we all have moments of weakness. Judging someone just for something like that is pretty unfair and is a pretty cynical outlook in general.
Like I said in my first post, maybe you should learn some empathy. I'm not villianizing you. You claimed you have empathy, but what you confuse as "empathy" is more leaning towards entitlement than anything else.
You however are the one who thus far have villainized people if they DC for any reason short of "someone near them is about to die". Those people who are just stuck, unable to play the leave so they leave. They're awful, awful salty losers who should just sit helplessly in a match, unable to play for 15 minutes of their maybe 1~2 hours of free time they have to play to earn that lovely 3k BP because you said so and have even tried to villianized me for having the audacity of treating other people who DC for whatever reason like they are human beings.
"Deciding not to be an [BAD WORD] to someone who DCs is not me enabling anything. "
Yes it is. It is exactly that. If they stayed through the whole game that was obviously frustrating for them THEN you should say "gg sorry for the bad game" or whatever. But when you do this after they DC you are just reinforcing the idea that it's okay to DC if they have a bad time. How can you not see this? It's basic psychology.
And I'm not telling you to be a dbag to people that DC. I'm telling you to not endorse them DC'ing. IDK where you get off thinking I ever said to insult someone for DC'ing. I didn't ever say that. Stop putting words into my mouth.
"I'm not villianizing you. "
But you are. You're trying to insinuate that I'm encouraging people to be a dick to people that DC. No, I'm saying HAVE NO SYMPATHY for them. There is a difference, because if you give them sympathy they will just continue to DC in the future. At the same time I'm not going to sympathize for these players if someone decides to send them a nasty message for DC'ing. They brought it on themselves, first because of the mere act of DC'ing and second because they won't ever get better if they quit when things get tough.
That fact you come out and say "have more empathy for these people that did a bad thing!" is villianizing me. Again I never said be a dick to people. But if you DC I'm not going to hold your hand and feel all bad for you about it or how others end up treating your for your behavior, because you don't deserve it.

Funny, your hypotheticals for situations that are suitable for DCing are just downright not.
Who takes an L on a flaming PC/console?! Not me, I'll tell ya that much!
Wife having a heart attack?! Chick, I'm tryna game here! Bug some loser who actually gives a damn!
You know how I can tell you're a true gamer? The way you read these pathetic posers minds. You can shut down all these whiny arguments like, "My ping goes in the red, leaving me unable to play the game properly" and, "I have a life which sometimes intervenes with my time playing video games."
IMPECABLE
In all seriousness, you are delusional.
The thought process behind, "You can't be serious! You don't play matches when you're at 300 ping?! Take the L like a real gamer!" is baffling. It's like you can't accept the fact that people play this game for fun, and playing matches in which your internet is pissing itself is the antithesis of fun.
I take it back. I don't think you're delusional. I'm convinced you're a nuanced comedian and for that I applaud your dedication. Keep up the good work, champ! :,)
Like I said if the "fun" argument were true then people wouldn't be compelled to leave when they are losing. Yet that is the case 98% of the time. The other 2% is actual legit reasons to DC. You can't sit there and tell me people play for fun when they DC at the drop of a hat for the lamest of reasons.

Sometimes the only way to leave a match is to DC because of said bug. This isn't a cop out. Or do you expect the player to sit there for six hours until something happens like their internet going out to end the pain for them and they are supposed to just sit there the entire time?
Why should I be stuck waiting for a game to end for 5, 10 or 15 minutes? My time is valuable. A lot more valuable than blood points I might add. And I sure as hell am not going to sit there unable to play just because it makes you feel better that I am stuck, unable to play. Quit being entitled.
Rarity of a bug doesn't mean they don't happen. Bugs don't run on a schedule, they happen, and can happen at any time, and still exist and effect people all the same, and many of them again, make the game unplayable and the only way to escape from them is to either DC, or sit there for 15 minutes unable to do anything. Sometimes the only option again, is to DC as the match won't end otherwise and if you don't then you're taking the killer hostage as well.
Did this killer you are talking about come and tell you personally that the only reason he lost was because he got bugged and so he DCed, or are you again just trying to blindly stereotype and assume anyone who DCs who doesn't come to you and give you a whole written apology letter to you that they DCed because someone close to them was about to die?
Also, what about when a killer gets stuck, and the survivors don't leave and hold them hostage? Should they just be forced to be stuck there for who knows how long? 5 minutes? 10 minutes? 30 minutes? An hour? Never? Where do we draw this arbitrary line of yours before it's okay to DC and not be "a cop out"?
If you're stuck in the game and the game doesn't end, you can DC. But those kinds of bugs are RARE. Most "I'm stuck bugs" will just mean you die as survivor or everyone escapes as killer. Sucks but it happens.
You said you send "sorry for bad game" messages when they DC. THAT IS CALLED ENABLING. You are just reinforcing bad behavior because now they think it's okay to DC when they have a bad time. This is EXACTLY what I'm talking about. You sympathizing for someone that quits just makes the problem worse.
You want to villianize me for not being sympathetic yet you turn around and enable these people to just quit more and more and more. You see nothing wrong with this? Honestly?
There are legit reasons to DC. Having a bad game is not one of them.

The problem is not so much taking a loss. It is the boredom of the loss having to take so long to happen. In professional chess matches and even trading card games, it is common for players to concede once they know the other player has won. It is just a way of taking your loss quickly and moving on.
It's 4 minutes. Less time than waiting for the DC penalty. If you can stand the boredom of waiting for DC penalty you can stand the boredom of waiting to bleed out.
CONCEDING a loss is an entirely different thing. If there was a button that would make you die, not DC, die, that's a concede option. But what we are talking about here is the chess player just getting up from their seat and walking away from the game.
Conceding a game =/= rage quitting. People respect when someone concedes, they don't respect when someone pops off, pulls their controller, and walks out of the venue without even so much as a handshake.

What about if the killer slugs all four survivors and does not hook anyone and decides to just wait for everyone to bleedout. (Holding everyone hostage in the game longer basically.) And nobody has unbreakable.
It's not a hostage situation because you will die eventually. It's toxic, but you need to learn to just take a loss.
Another perfect example of enabling this behavior.
