Probably because some people don’t wanna get spoiled but like speculation?
and there is direct forum rules that forbid talking about such leaks
So if someone so happens to get it right, would that be considered talking about leaks?
Feels redundant, because I'm pretty sure I already know what it is, and yet if I say anything it'll probably just be considered talking about leaks, so I won't actually be able to share my opinion.

There's a clip of someone wearing the mask facecamping a streamer then saying in the post game chat
"I don't like..." you can guess the rest. It's on someone's twitter by the name of 'thesistakaren' you can look it up, I'm sure you'll find it
imo I feel like removing the mask isn't going to stop people from doing what they did. The only thing that will is them being reported & banned but BHVR's notoriously slow when it comes to banning people, look at the cheaters.
Thx for the clip.
I agree too. Removing the cosmetic won't do anything, it's not the issue here-- and it shouldn't be to begin with. Some racist idiots are taking advantage of BHVR's ######### reporting system and getting away with it.
-
@RemoveBubbaBlack said:
And the typical BS counter argument holds ZERO weight. The problem is not Bubba wearing a black person’s skin, it’s the fact that this cosmetic is used 10x more than the Meg/Jake/Dwight ones purely for the fact that it’s black.
This is racist, because players are specifically using it above the others and targeting people playing the black characters. As well as using it as a revenge for Claudette being ‘stealthy’, even though Nea is just as good, if not better now at being immersed with cosmetics. Yet you don’t see people saying Nea is blending. It’s all racial stereotypes.
Do you have proof that people are targeting?
Even if Bubba players were "targeting the black characters," him wearing Claudette's skin as a mask is not blackface.

Yeah I just had a match where I hit someone, they screamed, then they dead harded away and didn't go down. So they've basically just moved the problem to be a 50-50 issue now?
Considering Killers have to deal with it more often (assume at least 2 people have DH per game, if you hook them 3x that is an average of 6 occurences of playing around DH per game), I don't think it was that bad an idea to have it validated on the Killer side. If you're tired of being exhausted on the ground, you can also dead hard earlier rather than being as greedy as possible with it.
Or you can simply hit the survivor next time instead of letting them dodge it.
-
I don’t get the complaints on Dead Hard or why people use it as much as they do when it’s simply inconsistent and not as good as Sprint Burst.
If Dead Hard gets disabled I guarantee you’re gonna have a harder time because everyone will either deny your chase completely or overly extend it by having the benefit of always being able to get to a safe area with Sprint Burst.
-
Once I return to the game I will be playing Spirit for fun, actually. Seems to be an actually interactive killer now.

Or the devs can actually put in some effort like they used to.
I'm not the one playing right now. I've hardly played since the RE chapter so this doesn't effect me.
But you got your answer and it's a valid one, so don't try to brush it off.

Their events in 2016 were better. Now all we get is "haha kick pumpkin here you go another for honor charm heehahahaha."
By the way, these guys literally said they were canceling all other events in order to make their big events (Halloween + Anniversary) more special. They've only gotten worse.
I can't say I'm surprised to see people complaining.

Bad impact on the planet like most things we are already using on a daily basis? Or worse?
I am sorry for being ignorant but in current day and age when everything is cancelled left and right I have to be a little bit skeptical about it.
So far I am not convinced to completely give up on dbd.
This is just an awful take.
This isn't something getting """""""""""""""""""""canceled"""""""""""""""""""", it's that NFTs are an objectively terrible way logistically and environmentally to monetize something.
If BHVR decides to take this a step further it'll literally be lootboxes that consume power and resources at a rate that an entire average household does per day, per purchase. A DAYS WORTH OF POWER, FOR ONE SINGULAR PURCHASE OF A LOOTBOX.
You don't go up to someone and say "well racism already happens so why am i getting canceled for being racist?" It's just morally reprehensible, and NFTs are both morally and environmentally awful.

This is actually really dark, because I fundamentally disagree with General on quite a few issues with the game and yet I would trust them more with it than the devs.

Remove the i-Frames. Give it slightly more distance.
That way it's no longer a complete second chance perk, while maintaining it's strength to avoid a hit.
You can still dodge projectiles even without i-Frames.
Honestly, I can’t say I disagree with this. People always want to just remove one factor of the perk without remembering that even now neither is entirely reliable, so the only way to keep one of the two factors is to buff one of them.
Increasing the dash would be a sort of “soft invincibility” provided that it’s far enough to disallow the killer to lunge through it, but it would also disallow survivors to just position dodge hits and Dead Hard over traps.
Good idea.
-
Nice team sabotage. You're definitely gonna get left on the hook by your team.
-
Hit validation. They have a better connection and the server registered the pallet drop before the hit. Devs still haven't fixed the sound playing anyways, but it's not a bug or anything.

The same as Mori's.
Nothing really. Surv's wanted a "unfun" addon nerfed, Killers got the same.
I am certain that 90% of players did not ask for Moris to be nerfed into uselessness. You can literally go back to the feedback from the Mori change or videos from the patch and you have people saying "I'm a survivor main, why are moris useless?"
Moris and keys were overnerfed, which I think both sides can agree on.

There are 14 distinctly male killers, actually. 3 killers are non-gendered creations (Demogorgon, Pyramid Head, and Nemesis). Of those 14, 5 of them are licensed. I'm not even sure if I want to refer to that walking abomination named Victor as a human male, so I'm counting in Charlotte and saying there are 7 female killers, one being licensed.
A large chunk of the male killers are licensed, and as with most popular horror licenses, the bad guy is male.
-
This 100% has to be a post from a Spirit main posing as a survivor. You literally don't even know what you said.
How exactly does simply having some idea of where she is now mean you can't confuse her? Oh wait, it doesn't.
Are we still counting the amount of times people say Spirit has reliable counterplay and then just don't list it?

How does Nurse require “effort” whereas Spirit doesn’t? Nurse has to hold down a M2 until it lines up with her target range, release M2 then hit M1. Takes practice and muscle memory, but it’s not rocket science. Nurse can see survivors at all times while doing this, can teleport through walls and can use aura perks to help in chase/tracking like I’m all ears/nurse’s calling.
Spirit has to hold M2 until she tracks her target (the MAJORITY of survivors run Iron Will, hard counter), release M2 and then hit M1- kind of similar huh? Can’t see auras while in phase (so no I’m All Ears, or sneak up using Nurse’s Calling).
Nurse is basically the most BS killer in the game but “no one” complains about her because she “takes skill”.
The main gripe about Spirit is that you can’t see her while she’s phasing (which is the point, duh) and now the devs are taking that away from her with the dust-kicking feature.
Phasing sound being audible to everyone is honestly not the worst change, but the additional nerfs were not needed.
I dunno where you got the majority of survivors using Iron Will from considering that not even 10% of survivors pick Iron Will in red ranks alone lol.
Spirit can hear survivors and see scratch marks, grass movement, etc. Anyone with ears and eyes can play her well.

You believe Spirit was overpowered?
I believe she was unfair, and people were getting kills with her because what she can do is very powerful but requires very little skill to finesse.
Not exactly overpowered, but not good for the game in the current state.

She was 100%. On the forums at least.
I really wonder whos the next "nerf X killer" now
Spirit's always been pretty BS. Honestly she was the only killer I think needed a direct nerf in terms of reworking. Nurse is skating on the edge of that but I don't mind when Nurse outplays me because it actually requires effort.
Most other killers could probably use buffs now that Spirit finally "GOT WHAT SHE ***ING DESERVED!"

You showing how you got at least two kills is not helping your case here.

It does take quite a while to change so much. Add-ons are pretty small and easy to overlook in the game, but there's a bunch of work behind the scenes that goes into updating them. I'll greatly simplify things, but you'd need to:
- Figure out which add-ons need changes
- Create new designs for those add-ons
- Scope them to see how long they'll take to implement
- Make the changes
- Playtest the changes, re-iterate until they're in a good spot
- QA the changes
- Have everything localized
- Ship the changes
Multiply that by up to 20 for each Killer, then multiply it by the number of Killers getting changes, and it quickly adds up to be a lot of work. Some simpler changes (like number tweaks) can be pretty quick and skip some steps, but some larger add-on changes can end up taking just as much time as a perk.
Though the real catch here is the scoping bit: Setting aside time for add-ons means taking time away from other features & balance changes that you'd probably want. Going absolutely wild on add-ons balancing would end up with less perk/Killer balancing, so it's important to strike a balance (no pun intended).
TL;DR: Simple on the surface, loads of work in practice.
I also don't mean to be that guy, but I feel like the players do those first two steps all the time. Everyone from the forums to Reddit to YouTube are constantly giving good ideas for balance changes.

Why do y'all keep calling it a "health chapter"? You make it seem like it can only be in a single a time block. No, what they need to do is have 1 less chapter a year maybe, and then focus more on fixing the game over the course of that year. It doesn't have to be in-between chapters like "health chapter" makes it sound. It should be an ongoing thing, with no definite beginning and end hopefully. If I'm being honest, I think the devs can, and we deserve, the same effort content-wise AND optimization/bug fixes at the same time, but hey you can't get everything.
Because that's mainly what people call it, though it isn't limited to one time, to clarify. I just means that the time which would have otherwise been dedicated to creating the next chapter should instead focus on the health of the game, as many times as necessary.

@Vampirox said:

I'd say this is technically untrue.
More fixes and game balance encourage longtime players to continue playing and continue giving BHVR money.

@Aven_Fallen said:
They dont want to do that. They said that their team is big enough to do both - New Content and revisiting old Content/fixing problems.
And they announced that this year will have 4 Chapters with 4 new Killers as well.
Clearly with how the game's overall health has been in the spotlight suffering for about a year now, it isn't working out well for them.
Also, I just don't believe them... considering... yeah.
With how many people get excited to get their tri-monthly horror reference and also constantly complain about the state of the game, I can't imagine how many more people would be elated to know that BHVR is taking a break from the new content to just fix stuff.

No it didn't dude, i used it when it came out over and over. I know how it worked, they changed it to give it that leap cuz the original didn't help you, you understand this is why im talking about different tweaks you can do to it? DH helps you in so many situations, passive perks like you mentioned bbq and other perks killers use because idk if you thought of it but it's because they are the only perks that really help you out.
Survivors have a lot more that are strong helps compared to killer
Are you gonna just say that the DEVS ARE WRONG about WHAT THEY RELEASED lol?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tkUFBat8Zfs -
FYI: Dead hard did not have a distance gain on release
Um... yes, it 100% did. In fact, it actually gave you even more distance than it does currently and didn't use to have an animation. That was when it wasn't even called Dead Hard, it was called Line Break.
If you wanna shorten the distance on Dead Hard you need to drastically increase the amount of time you can be invulnerable. Otherwise it's useless.
Alternatively, you could wait it out.

Alternatively, they can make FOV an accessibility option and make Shadowborn something completely different.

Too easy??! I don't mean to insult you, but you sound like a entitled survivor that refuses to get good with other aspects of her kit.
Back when Spirit could actually pass a audio gram, could you hear survivor's footsteps? Could you track a survivor's regular breathing without stridor? Could you even play Spirit with Mother-Daughter Ring and still predict survivor's without scratch marks or a sound queue? Better yet could you identify a survivor with Spine Chill and use that perk against them?
I'm a dedicated Spirit main sweet heart. You can't tell me get good by reading scratch marks when they aren't reliable due to the fact it takes longer for them to show up while phasing
I play both sides pretty evenly. Rank 1 on both (not that it matter rank is now dead lul). I don’t think that you have to get good with pretty much any part of her kit, it’s all fairly easy. To answer your questions:
Yes, yes, yes (I never use Stridor on Spirit, it’s so lame), and yes.
Since when do scratch marks take longer to appear in phase? I’ve never been aware of that mechanic, but if so, it was also never noticeable to me.

10 seconds and 15 seconds interaction allready makes it worthless to do honestly.
Well, I feel like with careful planning as well as more freedom of placement (since they would be able to place them in any doorway now) would make them pretty useful.
-
@Seraphor said:
This would probably become a new survivor perk, or a couple of perks.
Upcyle - When a pallet you dropped is destroyed by the killer, gain a token. Press and hold the secondary action button at a doorway to build a breakable wall, building takes 18/16/14 seconds and consumes a token.
Boon: Fortification - Interact with a Dull Totem to bless it with this perks effect. While the Boon Totem stands, every time you vault in a chase, all breakable walls or dropped pallets within 16/20/24 meters are held in place for 12 seconds and cannot be broken by the killer.
I can 100% see BHVR making it a perk instead of just giving the survivors the interaction. However, I'm not a fan of making things that would be more interesting as base game mechanics into perks. Also, it wouldn't address the issue of killers having to waste time trying to get around things that largely benefit the survivors.
-
@YOURFRIEND said:
Considering that most breakable walls are effectively god pallets, I think survivors being able to renew them is a terrible idea.
The don't renew them, there would be no breakable walls at the start.
Also it would take quite a bit of time to gather the resources and build them up.
-
At least I know that I can throw once I get into the territory of sweaty Ruin-Undying Mega Blink Recovery 4 min. slugging Nurse.
-
Oh, how this game would die over night.
Survivor queue times are already very long and most SWFs are not that good.
To more than double the amount of time it takes to find a match for survivors is not something you want in the game.
BTW: this is gonna increase killer queue times as well.

They will not give specifics because they do not want people manipulating their mmr.
If people really wanted to smurf they'd just insta-lose a few rounds then destroy the next few killers. I don't think we have to see the exact details, but something more than "it's different now" would be nice.

@[Deleted User] said:
How about this:
Breakable Walls, when broken, leave behind two large chunks of Wood, two squares (the animations might not all mesh with this)
By default you can setup these Halves to create a Breakable Vault, similar in a sense to a Dropped Pallet.
- If the Killer breaks this Vault the halves will disintegrate.
Scraps can be used to Repair that into a full Breakable wall
- Could be Toolbox/Perk locked
- Toolbox could be used to break the top half and create a Breakable Vault variant
A Breakable Wall that has been rebuilt will have noticeable scraps around the break-point.
A Breakable Wall that has been rebuilt will disintegrate completely when Broken.
Hey, and if the Breakable wall can be built into a Vault be default, it would disincentivize Killers from jut breaking them at the get-go.
I like the breakable vaults idea! However, I still do think that breakable walls shouldn't just be set up from the get-go (or at least not all of them). My thoughts are that 1 broken pallet can maybe create a vault while two can make a wall?

Many Killers will most likely have boosted Ratings, because the average Survivor is not really good at the game. So it is quite easy to win most of the time. And each win against Survivors who are below someones Level will increase the Rating.
So I guess, many Killers will play at higher Ratings when SBMM drops (and will flood the forums after 3 games how unfun DBD has become..), but this should settle. Expect to get your ass beaten a few times when SBMM drops, but it should adjust over time.
I thought that everyone was starting at a certain level based on their current rank?
-
@Peanits said:
Nope: The first version of SBMM only used kills and escapes to calculate your rating, but it did not work out so it was quickly scrapped. The current system takes a number of different factors into account when deciding when your rating should go up or down (and by extension, by how much).
Basically, the way it's calculated is complex, and the goal is to have you "win" in about half your matches.
So... what type of things does the system account for?
You guys... this is getting irritating with the lack of detail and explanation in these systems. We can't give the best feedback if we don't know how something works.

Yeah your painting a pretty picture that you don't play Spirit or haven't put in the effort to learn other ways of tracking with her.
Scratch Marks aren't dependable, even with Predator they still aren't dependable. Scratch marks really mean "A survivor was/is hear" and they aren't good for tracking.
While you can do the other things you mentioned, the moment she presses M2, your back to being Hellen Keller with a sword.
There is no effort in the other ways to track with her, it's literally just listening for sounds.
I only ever play Spirit for the dailies and even then I only use some stupid build and run Predator because it's just boring otherwise, too easy. Speed add-ons on top of that make it so that you can follow the scratch marks even better.
But I dunno maybe try putting more effort into tracking with Predator on Spirit?
-
Spirit mains are the most dramatic player subdivision in the game, I swear lol.
"RIP Spirit," like she isn't still A-tier even without sound.
Just throw on Predator instead of Stridor (wow what a thought!) and stand still some more, and wait until the devs fix the bug.
Also I've hardly seen any Spirit sound complaints? Besides this one I've only seen one other, so I doubt the devs even noticed.
-
Hmm... shouldn't it work the opposite way? I feel like it would make more sense to play the warning when the killer looks in your direction then when you look in theirs get the aura reading. It would justify the function of the warning.
Also I'd say bump the aura reading up to 2 seconds and knock down the cooldown to 20 seconds.
