Why do people complain about camping so much? I get that it can be unfun, but come on, it's not that big of a deal. You sit there for two minutes, and you go to your next game. People seem to act like camping is some OP exploit-y tech, rather than a barely working strategy. Assuming your team is decent, the Killer will get two kills at MOST. It's boring, yes, but not really an issue that needs to be fixed. I'm not trying to succumb to whataboutism, but this game really has bigger problems than camping.
There is also a simple perk to help with camping/tunnelling: Borrowed Time. Unless the killer can insta-down, BT basically guarantees an exchange. Also, what did you mean by Survivors having to "pay" for BT? It's a free teachable perk.
The idea of having the timer pause when the Killer is nearby is also a terrible idea that can and will be abused by Survivors. You shouldn't be able to loop around your teammate with no consequences.
Also, specific to the situation you were in with the Clown — he only has 4 bottles, up to a maximum of 7 with add-ons. The Clown also needs to land a direct hit to interrupt an unhook. Eventually, he'll have to reload, and your teammates can unhook you. It's far from uncounterable.
Finally, there is one tip I have for you — the 100% guaranteed way to make sure you NEVER get camped or tunnelled in a game: just play Killer.

I sometimes use NOED for the 4% speed boost in combination with PWYF and double Windstorm add-ons. Sometimes you just wanna go fast.
Just run Counterforce or Small Game if you hate NOED that much.

I like rewatchin the vod if I played well or won. If I get smacked all around I'll pass on the replay 😮💨
Then you won't be able to see and learn from your mistakes.
-
Really? I love going against live TTVs. It allows me to rewatch the game from their perspective, and see what I could've done better, as well as analyse the movements of a (usually) good Survivor to predict better.
-
I'd say skill issue, but this is more of an alcoholism issue.

Have you tried using the addons to increase killer instinct range with stealth perks?
No, but I don't believe that would make a difference. Perks/add-ons to increase Terror Radius have no effect when Undetectable.
-
I personally run Spirit Fury, Enduring, Coup de Grâce, and Blood Warden.
For me, Spirit Fury + Enduring is a must-have on Legion. Basically the only counter to Feral Frenzy is to stun the Legion with a pallet, and this perk combo completely stops that. Sometimes you might even get a double hit — enter Frenzy, don't respect the pallet, hit the survivor, get stunned, Spirit Fury activates, hit the survivor again. It makes for some easy downs. You can also use Julie's Mixtape (and possibly Iridescent Button) to make it even more un-counterable.
I love to use Coup de Grâce as well. Legion is great at getting people injured, but has no real chase power beyond that. Coup de Grâce fixes this, giving you an extra edge in chases. And since the perk only activates on basic attacks, you can freely lunge in your Frenzy without wasting stacks!
Finally, there's Blood Warden. Now, you can use a gen regression perk instead of this, but I personally feel like that's a bit of a waste with Coup. I'd rather have everyone injured at the end (which is easy with Legion), use my big lunge to get some downs, and stop the survivors from escaping with Blood Warden.
Another build I surprisingly like is Stealth Legion — Trail of Torment, Dark Devotion, Hex: The Third Seal, Hex: Plaything, and whatever indoor map offering you want. Now, I'll tell you right away: this is NOT A GOOD BUILD. The detection part of the Legion's power is based on your Terror Radius, meaning it doesn't detect survivors if they're Oblivious or you're Undetectable.
However, decent survivors don't expect you to use stealth perks, for the reasons I just mentioned, so with the right map you might actually get some sort of value from them. It's not a common occurrence, but sometimes the element of surprise can really get you the win.

Yeah, no. I've stopped playing games that rely on voice chat due to continuous toxicity and straight up harassment. And with this community being the way it is, I don't even want to imagine the ######### people would say. If you want to VC so badly, just play with your friends over Discord.

Inner Focus, Visionary, Repressed Alliance, and For the People. Now YOU (kinda) have the abilities of a Killer!
-
Since he's an amazing (albeit evil) doctor/scientist, it's fair to assume that he's the most intelligent Killer. His incredibly high IQ allowed him to unlock secret knowledge that no Killer before him had ever even thought about — you can just close your eyes when someone is shining a flashlight at your face. Obviously, the Entity gave him headgear to force his eyes open and make things a bit more fair for Survivors.

Can't do it cuz it combos too well with the one that gives you frenzy back when you get stunned. Puts survs in a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation and makes pallets pointless for them. Bhvr did what they did with this addon with intent.
Iridescent Button + Julie's Mixtape + Spirit Fury + Enduring is already quite uncounterable. I don't think the proposed changes in this post are all that strong.
-
The other day, I played 7 games. Literally 5 of them were Ironworks of Misery.
-
Good idea, terrible execution. They should allow the Killer to change parts of the map layout to their advantage, not make them lose time in chase because they have to break walls.
-
I think the general consensus is that No Way Out is better than Remember Me. However, if you want, you can always use Remember Me and Iridescent Stone to automatically interrupt survivors in the middle of their gate opening. That's always fun.
-
One that I personally really disliked was the UI update back in 2021. They added the new UI to the PTB, players checked it out, and just about everyone hated it. Instead of listening to the feedback and making changes (you know... the whole reason there's a PTB in the first place), Behaviour just... added it to live servers anyway.
-
I'd say the difficulty goes like Solo Queue < Killer < Survive With Friends.
-
What a piece of beautifully written heart-wrenching poetry. Thank you for this.
-
Pretty sure that was God sending you a sign.

Flashlights do sometimes annoy me, but depending on how Survivors use them, they can actually be a direct help for the Killer.
The Survivors who desperately try to flashlight save are my favourite. Downed someone? Just walk over to them and stand on top of their body for two seconds. Chances are a Flashlight Warrior will run directly up to you, giving you a free hit. If you want, you can even do this multiple times. I've won entire games just by baiting the Survivors this way.
The ones who click and blind you at pallets are annoying, but not unmanageable. The time spent blinding you at pallets is time they could (and should) have used to gain distance, and assuming you have a semi-decent headset, you can easily follow their footsteps while blind.
Lastly, of course, you can always use Lightborn. It's a free teachable, and directly counters any flashlight use. And most importantly, it's hilarious to watch the Survivor slowly back up as you approach them, staring right at their flashlight beam.
-
Whenever I'm getting facecamped, I just edit romantic images of the Killer and I staring into each other's eyes. I highly recommend it.
-
I like to come up with relationship dynamics between various characters, based on what they have in common.
Kate and Anna would be friends — they both like singing, and could make some sick duets. If I remember the lore correctly, Kate also likes hiking, so I'm sure the Red Forest would be a nice place to hang out for the both of them.
Caleb is a gambling man, based off of the table in the Dead Dawg Saloon; he and Ace would definitely play poker together. Ace would learn not to cheat after being caught the first time.
I also think Jake and Michael would have a tentative friendship. They're both known for being quiet loners — I can imagine them sitting on a log, just looking at crows and enjoying each other's silent company.
For sexuality headcanons, my favourite one is for the Legion: Susie is lesbian, Joey is gay, Julie is bisexual, and Frank is trans (and also bisexual). Why? Well:

Call me biased, but The Plague's theme is absolutely sick.
-
I think the filter would be okay if it worked to censor really bad things, like literal slurs. Right now, however, it'll censor the most random #########, as well as words simply related to the game. As a band-aid fix, I just want to be able to toggle it. I think I should be able to say the word "kill" in an 18+ game ABOUT KILLING PEOPLE.
-
Romance DBD. The Killer and I stare into each other's eyes for 2 minutes straight. The fact that I'm on the hook has nothing to do with it.
-
I've found a fun chase-escape combination. Bite the Bullet, Overcome, Lucky Break, and a decent medkit. Get hit, sprint away into a hiding spot, and immediately start healing. When the Killer comes looking for you, they won't be able to hear you or see any blood/scratch marks. Maybe add a Diversion in there, just for maximum confusion.
You can also use a different Exhaustion perk, if you don't have Overcome, as long as you're able to use it on command and gain enough distance to lose line of sight.
-
here are some of my fave outfits, plus a couple of charm sets because I seem to be the only DBD player who actually likes them
"Gay Stripper" David:
"Pizza Delivery Boy" Dwight but he gets to wear a hoodie:
"Publically Flaunting Your Gambling Addiction" Ace:
Candle.
"Gay Stripper 2" Trapper:
"Generic Vampire Halloween Costume" Doctor:

Huntress x Plague. love the Red Forest lesbians

Literally ever single song by Two Door Cinema Club. Absolute bangers
-
All of these are great, but I really wish we'd get Myers' DIY costume. I doubt it, though, since he's licensed and all.
-
Jesee whre is the cocainer
-
I usually use PGTW. I feel like it gives more control than Ruin (not to mention the fact that I just don't like Hex perks at all). It's also fun to just kick gens.
-
Don't mind her. She just likes hanging out there.

You... know you can press just about any button and skip it, right?

It's pronounced as both, but I am team mither/whither/hither!
And didn't you hear? Rancor is actually pronounced Rahn-core. BHVR wanted to be fancy.
By Talos this can't be happening
-
The original girlboss
-
Sure, as long as I get to ban a Survivor perk. Or maybe a specific item - no more med-kits would be nice.
-
Wait, it's pronounced "my-ther"? What the hell... next you're gonna tell me Rancor isn't pronounced "ran-core".
-
What a nice-looking young fellow. I sure hope he won't dismember me with a chainsaw!
-
I think this is a good idea. It would also be cool if they added some deaf accessibility for Killers, but I'm not sure how they'd do this without making it "overpowered". Visual notifications for grunts of pain or moving grass would mess up any attempts at stealth.
-
only if she gets a gun and can instantly murder the Killers
-
- Silent Hill. Mainly the 1st and 3rd games, as the 2nd game sucks imo.
- Stories Untold. It's spooky, and the gameplay is unique and really fun.
- CARRION. Kinda unsure if that counts as horror, but it's definitely gory.
- Yuppie Psycho. Not that well-known, but probably my favourite game ever.

You fear the truth

- Reverse Bear Traps popping. beeeeSNAPeeeep
- The last little slap of Plague's mori
- The Wraith's bell. Just in any situation. Bing Bong :)

I wish they'd make new maps in existing realms. Like, more maps in the Léry's, Ormond, and Grave of Glenvale realms, for example.
-
great map design, 10/10
not sure what's happening here, but it terrifies me

I started out this game playing Killer, so here are some tips :)
- Good headphones are a necessity. Play at a decently loud volume. Audio plays a huge part in this game, especially for Killers. Being able to hear footsteps, grunts of pain, lockers opening/closing, generators being worked on, totems being cleansed, etc. helps a lot.
- Watch some tutorials. I personally really like int3r4ct's Killer tutorials, though I'm sure there are tons of other tutorials you can find.
- Play as a Survivor sometimes. This may sound dumb, but I think it's an important part of the game that isn't mentioned enough. To win, you need to understand what your opponent is going to do. If you want to win as a Survivor, you need to understand what the Killer is thinking. If you want to win as a Killer, you need to understand what the Survivors are thinking.
- If you can, get the Leatherface DLC. The perk Barbecue & Chilli basically lets you double your bloodpoint gain. When you're grinding and levelling up characters, this is really helpful. It also shows the auras of Survivors after you hook one, which is a great bonus.
- Most importantly: play to have fun! There tends to be so much focus on what the "best" perks are, what the "meta" is, why you shouldn't "camp" or "tunnel", which Killers are "low-tier" and "S-tier"; none of it matters! I picked my first and favourite Killer based on looks and lore alone, and I had fun with it. Did I get a 4k every time? Of course not. But you don't need that to win. Winning or losing in this game is all subjective. Personally, I feel that I've "won" if I've had fun, and I've "lost" if I'm bored/annoyed after the game.
There is no objectively right way to play this game. Play however you want, as long as you're enjoying it!
-
I'll hit them once. If their rescuer had BT, they can run off and go mend themself. If they go down, I leave them on the ground while I chase the person who unhooked them. Strategy-wise, these are the best plays I can make in the situation. If I down and hook their rescuer, go back, and find that the downed person hasn't been picked up, that's on their teammates, not me.
