sorry (not really) for the necro, but I wanna share my fave Killer outfits :)
Plague: Crown of Pustula, Crimson Robe, Sanguinary Censer
Huntress: Hare, Hunting Hitatare (Winter Blue), Battle Tested Hatchet
Legion: Wiry Smile, Cozy Holidays, Boot Knife
Trapper: Chuckles, Titan Stars And Chain, Pain Flail (Copper)
Demogorgon: Collared Death, the rest is his basic outfit
Shape: Red On White Mask, Overalls, Unbreakable Pipe
-
So one could say... you've "lost control"?
-
I have the achievement on Steam, somehow. Never tried for it or anything. I just got it randomly while practicing playing The Nemesis, using his starter perks. Maybe you have to use Hysteria? I wish I could tell you how to get it lmao
-
The Undetectable status does not have to come from Beast of Prey. Personally, I finished the challenge as The Shape using Scratched Mirror.
-
go fast, stab people
-
If I had fun, it's a win. Same goes for playing Killer.
-
I'm not the best Survivor, but I'm a pretty decent Killer, so if you ever wanna practice in a custom match, I'd be more than happy to help!
I can play Survivor in both custom and public as well, just don't expect me to loop the Killer for 5 gens.
My Discord name is normemegian#7272 :)

Oh wow. Didn't know that. He is one of the more scarry ones I think. I just feel silly getting whacked by chainsaw man. Because he seems like he cant even tie his own shoes.
The Doctor's "Static Blast" power basically makes all Survivors in a 32 meter radius scream, which gives a visual of their location. If he gets them to Madness 3, they will also just randomly scream, again revealing their location. He may be considered a low-tier Killer, but I find him very fun to play as :)
-
Whispers is a good perk for tracking, but can be a bit difficult to learn to use. Bitter Murmur is possibly easier, as you can see auras. I don't know what DLCs you have, but The Doctor basically has a built-in tracking feature.
-
they're girlfriends 🏳️🌈 #lovewins
-
When Survivors are jerks to their teammates, I tend to punish them. Unhooking right in front of me without BT, pointing in the direction of your teammate, camping hatch while you wait for the other Survivor to die — you best believe I'm punishing that stuff.

What facts and statistics? There's no data there lol
It's gender politics. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like you're criticizing society's beauty standards of women and then mentioning real-world brutality of men against women. All in relation to gender diversity in a game.
Trust me, I get being a female-centric lesbian woman as a male-centric gay man myself. But there's a time and a place.
I meant that if I go to literally any news site right now, I'm at least 95% sure I'll be able to find an article about a woman killed by a man within the span of 5 minutes.
And as a wise moderator once said,
and everyone proceeded to ignore; "no one's identity is political, and there is nothing political about asking for representation." -
My name is a joke/reference to a situation back when my friends taught me DBD in custom games. It's also irrelevant to the content of my actual post.

Is it really that difficult for a professional game dev team to design a female character without making her a pretty little murder victim? Are all the Killers gonna keep being some tall (usually) white guy with a mediocre power and a boring backstory? If I wanted to watch women get brutally killed by men, I'd just turn on the news.
What's political about that? Those are literally just facts and statistics.
-
@Apollos said:
The politics in the OP are funny. If the game is making you this upset over real-world problems, you're too invested.
Most licenses they obtain are going to have male killers. It's just how the genre works. They were able to get Amanda instead of the other SAW killers which is good, but they're pretty limited when it comes to Halloween, ANOES, TCM, Silent Hill, etc. Also bear in mind that every licensed killer/survivor combo has had at least one male and one female character to offset this.
Excluding that and looking at their original content where they have full creative control, we have 9 male killers, 5 female killers, and 2 equally male/female killers. It's not straight across the board, but at such low numbers, the disparity really isn't all that bad. It's good to suggest more, but it isn't as dire as you make it seem.
There's a similar difference among survivors, with 7 male survivors and 10 female survivors.
So really we have 4 more male killers than female, and 3 more female survivors than male (in terms of what they can actively change). If the next survivor is an original female character, then we're looking at an equal 4 for 4. Again, not a big deal, but something worth suggesting more balance with.
Where in my post do I mention "politics"?

So what if there's a huge gap? There are still female killers, most of which are most powerful killers (Nurse, Spirit, Hag, Twins, Huntress). If you just want a 50/50 split of male and female killers then I doubt you really care about the game itself. If gender matters that much that you can't enjoy the game, this game may just not be for you.
Have I ever said that I don't enjoy the game? Or that I need an exact 50/50 split? I, as well as multiple other women I know, wish for more female Killers, as there are significantly fewer of them than there are male Killers. That's all. I don't see why so many people are having an issue with this. I guess maybe cishet men don't understand what it's like to be underrepresented in media?
-
No clue. I mainly play Killer, but on the occasions where I've played Survivor, I'm pretty sure I've never teabagged. The only circumstances I'll teabag in is as a joke, when I know I'm about to die, for example if the Killer has me stuck in a corner. But being a jerk to the Killer for absolutely no reason? No thanks.

Then consider not being hostile by default. Say what you will, but this game simply causes stress to some people. I doubt they need to be called childish on top of that.
I haven't tried to be hostile?

Honestly, if you're 18+ and you can't empathise and comprehend that other people might not perceive things the way you do, you really need to work on yourself.
Empathy towards other humans, especially when it comes to perceiving things differently, tends to be difficult for me. I do try my best, though!

Different people are at different maturity levels. Not everyone is going to be you.
Likewise, the game is BUILT that way. This stuff affects you on a subconscious level and a lot of people can't help that reaction.
Fair enough, I suppose. I've just never felt any sort of humiliation while playing the game, neither as Survivor nor Killer. Yeah, maybe I'll get some flashlight clicks and t-bags at the exit gates, but that's just how it is sometimes. No need to let it bother me. The only thing that actually gets on my nerves is if people, like, call me literal slurs in the post-game chat.

Competitive is a strong word. It is a pvp game is probably more what you were trying to say.
Yeah, I just generally use "PVP" and "competitive" as synonyms.

DbD's gameplay is centered on humiliating your adversary. I would argue that every aspect of the gameplay is an act of humiliation, not competition, like you see in other games. The reward-based outcomes combined with asymmetric gameplay makes DbD uniquely painful to emotionally process both your losses AND wins. Let's look at the various aspects of gameplay:
Killer Humiliates
- Frustrates a survivor's ability to contribute to their team (social humiliation)
- Frustrates a survivor's ability to level up and earn points (reward-denial humiliation)
- Frustrates a survivor's ability to appear competent in front of their survivor peers (mild self-esteem humiliation)
Survivor Humiliates
- Frustrates a killer's ability to appear competitive and threatening in the game environment (social)
- Frustrates a killer's ability to level up and earn points (reward-denial humiliation)
- Humiliates the killer in post-game chat, something that while survivors aren't immune to, but have group social support resources to easily heal from (severe self-esteem humiliation)
That is an excerpt from a psychologist discussing DBD. There is more to it, but that's what related most to what I was speaking about.
Honestly, if you're 18+ and you feel "humiliated" because of a video game, you really need to work on yourself.
(Not counting chats, of course. Direct communication very different.)

The game is literally built on humiliating your opponent.
...How is the game about "humiliating" anyone? It's a competitive game, like many others, but that doesn't mean your goal is to be a jerk to people.
-
Just... quit the game. Even better, get a therapist and work on your underlying self-esteem issues. Or maybe do both.
-
From left to right:
- "Demon Slayer, But Like, Casual" Feng Min
- "Combination Stripper And Security Guard" David King
- "Overdressed Lesbian at The Grocery Store" Zarina Kassir
- "I'm Going to Flirt With The Killer or Die Trying" Ace Visconti
- "Generic Vampire Halloween Costume" Herman Carter
-
I relate </3 Hasn't happened to me a lot, but when it has, I've usually given them my item as a "gift", or just let them hook and kill me.
-
I'll probably start playing more Trapper, and maybe also some Spirit :)
-
I don't know about perks, but based on your post, I think you could make good use of this.
-
I like Adam :)
-
Well, I don't know about you guys, but I'm definitely going to start playing more Trapper after this buff :)
-
What exactly do you count as "tryharding"? 'Cause I've been called a tryhard for just... playing the game correctly.

May I ask if you have an example if a lesser known folk lore creature? I know a lot of Japanese mythological creatures
Well, I don't know about a ton of folklore outside of my own culture, but I love learning new things, which is why it would be cool if they added characters based off of that.
I guess if you need examples, I'd really like a Killer based on huldra. Though they aren't particularly violent in the actual folklore, BHVR could take some artistic liberties. It would also be cool if they added Kuchisake-onna, though that one is pretty well-known.
Obviously, before doing any of this, they have to talk to people who are actually part of these cultures.
-
I run Calm Spirit. It works against Iron Maiden, Infectious Fright, and basically The Doctor's entire power. I can also pet the crows :)
-
bro I am NOT going to Haddonfield
-
I have a "fun" build for any Killer who wishes to be extremely annoying and also waste everyone's time. I call it "Enforced Naptime".
- Knock Out
- Deerstalker
- Iron Grip/Agitation
- Whispers (Optional)
Bring a Badham or Haddonfield offering.
The objective isn't to win or stop gen progress or kill Survivors; it's to place Survivors on mattresses, and have them stay there. That's literally it. There are 2 mattresses on each map (I think). Your goal is to down Survivors, pick them up, and plop them on a mattress.
You can decide whether you want to pick them up last second and let them live, or if you want them to bleed out on the mattress. Works with just about any Killer, as long as you can manage to down people.
Does it count as holding the game hostage? Possibly. Is it fun? Definitely not. Will you ruin the trial for everyone? Absolutely.
Have fun!
-
I'd love a werewolf character, especially one with a transformation power somewhat similar to the Oni. It would also be really cool with a merperson/siren-based Killer, although I'm not entirely sure how they'd be able to make any water-related powers.
I'd also love to have some more unique and lesser-known mythical creatures, taken from various cultures' folklore.
-
It does depend quite a lot on what Killer you're using. Some of my general favourites are the well-known Spirit Fury + Enduring combo, as well as Monitor & Abuse + Infectious Fright. Dragon's Grip + Trail of Torment is also an interesting one.
-
My personal build, for
cowardsimmersed players:- Iron Will
- Calm Spirit
- Borrowed Time
- Unbreakable
Best used on Adam with his brown Business Trench Coat. Honestly better than P3 Claudette.

I think we need more beast like killers. Like Demogorgon. He's the only one. More beastiality, less females!
- That is a strawman argument;
- Please don't refer to women as "females", it's dehumanising;
- I'm... not sure if you're using the word "beastiality" correctly. At least I hope you aren't.

And there are female killers and the devs never said they were going to stop making new female killers. So, what's the point of this thread?
Because, as I stated, there's a huge gap in the amount of female vs male Killers. People in this forum complain about far less important things.
-
@Khar said:
Why do you care so much about the killer's gender?
Because I am female and I prefer to play as female Killers.

When the guy named "Step on me Adiris" has to set the record straight, you know that he went way overboard. Like, I ain't even know what he said, but surely it was extreme. Lol.
Anyways, more attractive female killers, pls.
Why do the female Killers have to be attractive? That's not a requirement for any of the male Killers. I want more female Killers who are "ugly" by traditional beauty standards. I want them to be obese, deformed, exaggeratedly muscular, gross, rotten, intimidating, et cetera.
I'm also very much not a "guy", just a lesbian whose fave character is the tall priestess lady.
-
@DBD78 said:
Most killers in the real world are men, why should this game be different?
Ah, yes, because we all play this game for the realism, evident by the fact that real-life Killers teleport, survive literally any damage done to them (including having their limbs severed), and call upon eldritch gods to do their bidding.
-
@BastardKing said:
Part of the problem is there aren't as many licensed female killers. Also, where is the Hispanic killer?
There are a lot of female Killers they could license, they just don't, for some reason. Also, true! A Hispanic Killer would be awesome.

I know you guys don't want to hear this, but dbd knows their audience, maybe not their balance, but for sure their audience. Also twins are a female character and trickster may as well be one.
They may know their audience, but they don't seem to care about them all that much. Also, in what world is the Trickster female????
