  • Sad but true without faster cloak or decloak the speed boost he gets from dropping out of his power is more like a soft reset to where you "should" be as opposed to a reward for cutting off and uncloak to surprise attack.

Why are people getting recommended this year-old thread of mine?

Because someone felt the need to practice necromancy. Can we get a mod?

  • Quite a few things would break if that were the case. Plus some set up killers may try to take advantage, namely trapper.

  • Distortion is a stealth perk against aura reading but it only works 3 times.

  • Side note when matchmaking was implemented wasn't their acceptable range of ranks around 8 above or below the killer? Because if that is the case the outlying 16 was the only real anomaly.

  • Your idea causes less distraction for the killer. Gens are still on the left just upper corner instead of lower. While I still disagree with moving the player icons in general they are relatively close to their original spot in your version.

No idea hat genius decided that spacing the ui everywhere in a (relatively) high concentration game was a good idea when currently all your information is convientky at the bottom of the screen.

  • @Mat_Sella said:

It probably at this point is a design choice, to make Stealth killers more audibly distinct than the other killers. Hence why you can hear Demo and Oni's footsteps from far away, and their sfx's globally.

I wouldn't call a towering behemoth thst glows red and has an aura trail "stealth" were you heaar for the wraith buff that made his very loud mouth breathing softer?

  • I can see what they were trying to do but it is done poorly. This way you know who is who but they need a better method. Instead of having 3 images in the same part of the screen they could just use the character faces and for the injured stay have blood over them, for downed change the headshot to a banged up/defeated portrait and turn it to a hook icon when hooked.

No need for a character head, healthy/injured/dying state next to it and a tiny tally till death in the upper corner.

  • @イエローミント said:

Why doesn't the killer side UI let you know who hooked and how many times?

They are probably worried the killer would use that info to tunnel someone out of the game.

  • Seems like an oversight on the devs part.

  • I say no just because sometimes the games decides to trap you in corn purgatory or only uses 2 maps out of the 20 which is really weird.

  • @Rydog said:

His big issue is map coverage. He really needs to be able to move faster when cloaked; maybe play with the idea of allowing him to walk through solid objects while invisible, at the cost of taking longer to phase back in.

But they'll probably just give him some stupid cooldown timer like they do for every killer they remake.

That would cause quite a few glitvhes. A better buff is giving him true invisibility past a certain distance that was you cant see a cloaked wraith move 20+meters away from you as they patrol. He's quite easy to see for a stealth killer.

I havn't seen that issue, ngl didn't even know it existed. Sounds sucky though.

It is while I haven't played demo due to it I should still have the screenshots. Sent a report to the devs when it happened don't think it got a response or recall it appearing in a bug fix. Need to double check the update logs.

Yes and now i'm reacting to ur response, which adding this feature seems very pointless and another grab to try and get survivors nerfed.

Look though it rarely happens I did have to face survivor who would become clones in the past far before killer lock was a thing. It is a tactic used to troll the killer as it is very hard to keep track of several clones who swarm. If they locked in the character at 10 seconds it would at least give potential adjustment time for the killer. Items, add ons and perks can still be altered as desired.

I am not asking for once the join lobby is clicked for them to be stuck for 60 seconds this purely prevents last moment cloning. Yes it is a nerf, but only affects last second swappers.

One reason I am bias for it is change is a game I still remember during an chinese new year event an entire squad turned into Feng clones wearing the new year cosmetics last second and had a 3 man escape on the farm as they would follow and swarm during hooks or midchase if possible for them leading to a miserable experience.

I am very much aware this change will likely never make it ingame but that doesn't mean it can't be discussed.

  • Haven't played demodog recently but does he still become one with the floor instead of leaving his portal at random? Recall he sometimes emerged 10 feet from the portal sometimes too when that happened.

Big deal, not like survivors ever had time to adjust to an incoming mori. There are far bigger concerns in this game which need to be adressed than something as small as this.

You're the one who asked what the benefit is if you never wanted an answer don't ask. Rhetorical questions can be hard to decipher through text.

  • @Withered8 said:

And what exactly would the benefit of this be? Stop survivors from swapping what they look like? Punishing survivors because it's "unfair" that killers have to deal with it?

It stops bully squads from last second swapping to be clones of another as well as stop survivors from bringing a surprise key without giving the killer time to adjust.

  • Hard to tell if you scrolled over the gold emblem it will state how much you gained and what percentage you lost under a column like if you were near hooked survivors too long or if they got "too many" saves.

  • If they ever rework/nerf it. A "simple" change would be to have whatever hex perk that was broken moved to and overwrite undying.

  • I was accused of lagswitching despite the survivor having a jank connection and teleported a deadhard distance away when i went to swing from time to time after they were exhausted.

  • I only mori for the daily/challenge and when I do it's usually on death hook. Though ebony moris are now really expensive filler.

  • @Thasard said:

I wouldn't mind a basement update. Give it a secret exit point. Make it so there's only one unbreakable hook. The game is now designed to punish killers for camping so they need to update this aspect of the maps.

The point of the basement is to make it extremely difficult to escape. You alrwady have 3 lockers to hide in so unless the killer has territorial or sees your scratchmarks headed to the basement they probably aren't going to waste their time with 3 lockers. Heck if you slip in as they are leaving or follow them down the stairs and go into a locker while they are hooking they have no reason to suspect anyone is there.

The basement is meant to be dangerious not camped so nerfing it to have a secondary exit defeats the purpose.

  • I usually run Territorial Instinct so I have a heads up when a survivor goes for a basement save and typically I patrol far enough my raduis is gone yet close enough I can usually catch them around the building. Only really use on huntress for sniping and wraith for speed under cloak but it works pretty well.

  • Are they damaging like the turbo white that old flashlights used to do? That physically hurt your eyes after 1 seconds of looking at it.

  • I don't mori unless it's a daily so I am not affected.

  • I remember a post about how the game is supposed to be cat and mouse and that looping was unintentional which is why Nurse was born. Then infinites brought in bloodlust and later entity blockers, then destoyable walls which ironically make infinites or very long loops in some cases.

Unfortuanately the dev team, instead of fixing the problems early on released perks and some killers as a "quick fix". If they ever intended on fixing the problem proper which I assume they did, they just couldn't sit down and work it out before the community got bored and by now I'm afraid it's too late. Bandage perks plague killers and the new ones are bogged down with counter-intuitive drawbacks or are negligabke at best in an effort to avoid power creep that they now have to spend time and resources to go back to old maps and try to fix them with all the current perks in mind when it may have been easier to have fixed them in the past.

I hope the devs can somehow find a way to turn all this around so perks are just nice to have around instead of borderline neccessary to maybe win against an optimal opponent though with how notorious they are for bugs appearing each update I can't say that will come soon. TM

  • @Saltjar34 said:

Problem is, MYC and Devour Hope are very powerful perks and they only activate after the killer is a certain distance away from the survivor so rushing unhook can prevent those perks from activating.

Plus if the unhooker has Deliverance and WGLF, there's practically no downside to rushing an unhook.

Both deliverance and wglf reward safe inhooks. Unless you pack BT the killer can just smack them back down and now they'll come after you while the unhooked is slugged.

  • The twins are incredibly broken and victor gets stuck in the ground among other issues frequently rendering them incredibly difficult if not impossible to play.

  • That is increasing the grind by an expenential degree. It will likely kill the game and is gate keeping to the nth degree.

Just imagine a new player unable to get useful perks until tier 2 or 3 it would kill all drive fro new players and would get the game review nuked harder than both the week 1 freddy nerf and the mettle of man nerf.

Tbh this is greatly needed, I hate to admit this but, this game made me question my self worth, since being mocked/laughed at, trolled at, I've been having dark thoughts about hurting myself, I at times feel alone, truly because I am alone. I'm quitting for a few days only logging on daily for logins and stuff but that's it.

No game is worth your mental health and if trolls and other fun wreckers are getting to you put it down for a month or two. No matter what they say they are only saying it out of spite or to intentionally get a reaction out of you and would never consider saying it to your face.

You are worth so much to people you and are irreplaceible, I may not know your living condition but if you nade it this far in life you can continue on and find your perfect lifemate and achieve what you were put in the workd to do. Don't let the naysayers get you down and keep pushing forwards not just in the game but in life in general. You may feel alone and are forced to socially distance but you aren't alone you can always reach out even if it's to strangers on the internet people care about your wellbeing.

  • Crossdressing bubba

    Bunny feng

    Bunny legion

Not real sure why this is appearing now.

  • I recall a game on the farm where I was slugged and the killer went tofind the last survivor. I crawled away and the traitor intentionally lead the killer to me and was immediatly killed for his troubles. The killer gave me hatch and in postgame said I was the one they were going to kill until the betrayal happened.

  • @Pipefish said:

If you have the opportunity to tunnel someone out of the game. Do you or do you try to spread it out. I know getting tunneled is no fun on the survivors end but neither is killer on large maps when you move at 110% speed and the survivors are gen rushing you by splitting on gens. Assuming you say you don't, what other strategies would you recommend, be much appreciated!

I don't go out of my way to tunnel but if a survivor is unlucky enough tobrun into me after an unhook they are going back up unless it's their death hook, then they take a seat (slugged) and I look for a fresh survivor to hook.

  • @TragicSolitude said:

For one thing, you're probably not the first match the killer's had that day. If that killer's matches are anything like what I've experienced, matchmaking is kicking the crap out of him and he feels like a punching bag. If a killer's celebrating and smacking you on the hook just for one chase (and you weren't being a toxic dick), he's either a huge baby or he's had some very bad matches and he's just letting out his frustration on you, in which case it's not personal and has little to do with you at all, really. In fact, he may be frustrated at himself, because if his previous matches have gotten him tilted then his performance is probably suffering which only makes him more frustrated.

It's an unfortunate truth in this game that as killer your most miserable matches are probably going to be against survivors who are pretty much untouchable, and so it's the survivors in the next match who are going to feel your pain. It takes a very laid back killer or a whole lotta weed for that to not be the case.

This is true I main killers. Specifically "low-mid tier" ones and if I have 3-5 poor preformance games with cocky survivors back to back or if the game practically counters my killer with a bad map all session I get the urge to grab a mori and vent before figuring it's unfair on the 'new' survivors that entered my lobby unless I see what could be a gen rush game or key.

  • Wraith because I like trying to sneak up on survivors. Demogorgan because I find his kit to be interesting and he is fun in low to midranks.

  • Not too sure how they can manage that without it intruding on other killers playstyles and being unique. I guess they could make a killer that can call on the entity to block off a gen or two as its power but I don't know how that will be balanced especially with all the other slow down perks.

I’m pretty sure they’re referencing the post they made about how they’re going to dial down on events other than the Halloween and anniversary events. And the post also stated that they were going to do daily rewards for the whole month of December. Most likely instead of any Christmas lights/event this year. Which sucks. I remember over a year ago they said to us “we don’t have to do any events if we don’t want to, it’s a privilege that you get anything at all” something like that, and ever since that it was like a big ol middle finger to them and to everybody. It’s like well we also don’t have to play your game and give you money to be able to afford your house now do we?

we aren’t asking for a lot. Just something.

It really isn't that difficult to enable lights on lockers and hooks. Responss to the commubity like that just reek of disrespest and more/less superiority if not power tripping because they designed a game people pay money for.

It really bothers me when ppl complain about how certain aspects of this game is unfun and boring, and that the devs have to address it.

It's more like OP venting about randoms being toxic in a custom game where nothing is gained or lost.

  • My least favorite maps are dead dawg saloon and indoor maps. Saloon makes the game a slide show at random while indoors practically turns huntress into 110 m1 killer barring windows and pallet drops.

Favorite I think would be some instances of autohaven and groaning storehouse sincd they give a good mix of hiding and running without being too into either like the farm or yamoaka

  • Yet another bug that interferes with perks. Notify the devs

  • I like the concept but demodog is just abysmal to play against good survivors and his constant noise from the clomping of his feet to the map wide screeches and portal goo noise why does he have "undetectable" addons? Why are his best addons commom and uncommon?

  • Not sure if it was before dbd got on console but he was definitely liuder on PC.

  • If you can believe he used to be louder. They had to specifically quiet him down so he wouldn't give away his position as much duribg the trial.

  • Kate she's pretty upbeat despite the situation

Wraith he seemed like a nice guy who was redeemed bur got strongarmed into the entitys service after learning the truth. Also I like his playstyle despite crappy Predator invisibility.

  • I mean your "friends" can kiss their items goodbye unless they are chest diving.

  • 2 matches didn't think to screenshot

1 as huntress on autohaven 2 k 2 escape low ranks

1 as pig on swamp. 4k adept 11- 8 ranked

  • @justalilbit123 said:

Tunneling is not a wise or strong strategy because constant BT saves and DS make it hard to do. That being said you sure as hell can't afford to attempt a 12 hook strategy against good survivors, the gens will be done by the time you reach 6. So most of the time you have to hook one person, hook another, then look for that first person again. It's not anyone's fault other than the devs for forcing Killers to be constantly pressured into making perfect plays or risk losing everything.

Not just that but some bold survivors sometimes stalk you to the hook for a fast save when you are out of sight/ terror radius so a quick run through of the immediate area is smart yet called "camping" to demean the preventative measure.

  • First off everyone has a different definition of "fun".

Some purposefully try to piss people off and hide behind "it's just a game" as an excuse for cruddy behavior.

    Some want total domination.

Some want a close game where both sides try their best.

Some are just out for themselves.

But no one enjoys losing everytime despite trying their best. Winning is (usually) fun because it means you beat the opponent and it makes you feel good.
