just because a person calls themselves a singularity main, it doesn't mean they understand this killer.
this person says blatantly wrong things about a killer they don't really understand.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3610085#Comment_3610085
that'll be a horrible change.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3610081#Comment_3610081
whatever money they'll spend on making him "easier" will end up ruining him for everyone. it's literally more profitable for them to leave him be as a niche killer rather than waste resources in vain trying to make people play killer that requires more awareness than they have.
What is the source for this? So making a killer more accesible, which might lead to people buying them is somehow less profitable than keeping him extremely niche so people dont buy him?. How is it more profitable?
-
As much as you dont like it, bhvr is a company, and if no one is buying singularity, then its objectively a FAILED product in the eyes of a company, and it needs to be fixed. People wont buy singularity because of his perks (they are incredibly bad) so the killer has to appeal to people (which he only appeals to a very niche population).
I am incredibly keen on playing him, and still think his reward/effort ratio is bad. I have got infinetly faster downs/snowballs as deathslinger putting probably like 1/4 of the effort I have done to get the same out of singularity.
Also most of the time when I play him I only win because my opponents would struggle with a goldfish in a chess match. For example NO good survivor should ever let singularity get an overclock hit after the pallet breaks, just keep looping after he tps as the distance break after tp will asure you can keep looping him ( if he has OAMA this doesnt work tho, SOMA makes his tp actually dangerous) or predrop, why on earth do people throw pallets on an overclock singularity? Like why? Do they not know how he works? Are they trolling their team? Genuinly think if you read singularitys power and you are a sentient being you should never get hit by an overclock pallet break.
-
I heavily disagree with this, BHVR innovates a lot on their killer releases, people might not see it/or actively ignore it for the sake of their argument, but killers like xenomorph, singularity and to an extend knight are innovations on the blueprint of dbd. Singularity quite literally added verticality to the game, knights power is pure AI, which was completely new for dbd at the time and xenomorph codes a whole web of randomly generated tunnels on each map. Whether you like it or not bhvr ups themselves on their code with this releases showing they can make outstanding work with frankly, a bad blueprint.
Now, people want innovation as in new gamemodes and mechanics, and that bhvr has been deficient in, but saying they do not innovate is either willfully ignorant or just being ignorant how hard coding some of those killers is.

Holy jesus no wonder you can follow this rules, your survivors are below bot level. Yeah I would say killer is easy too if my opponents were like this, man aint no way those people are real.

How? This has to be trolling, aside from things like probably pain res and UW, killer perks are vastly on par with survivor perks.

I know what you mean.
New and normal players struggle at the moment with a lot of things the good or top players can´t imagine anymore.
7,4% have the reach Iri 1 as Surv Trophy on Steam and 4,9% the reach Iri 1 as Killer Trophy.
Here in the forum i remember the "reaching Iri 1 is easy" discussions... no it is not. And not many playes have reached it ever.
Same with the so called weak killers. In my games i have been destroyed by a weak killer quite often.
Few people achieving it doesnt make it not easy, most people prob dont have the time it dedicates to do it, but reaching iri is just a manner of time, there is no difficulty in it.
As for weak killers, the fact a killer is weak doesn't mean bad players cant give them a free 4k from time to time. I have beaten people with trapper on springwood, no sentient team would let that happen...ever.

Without blindness, UW is still annoying on Wesker/Blight/Nurse. But totally useless on killers like Trapper.
But the blindness should go. No its not about Im not able to use WoO, its about Im not able to see my teammates slugged/hooked. At least make blindess not affect basekit aura (slugged/hooked teammates), then blindness effect would be more fair.
Id preffer to take blindness off of ultimate weapon than change the status effect like you say as it would make it more useless than it already is.

That may work on new chucky players but after just 3 to 5 games you pretty much know how to dash around corners or doing a little hug tech.
Its like saying just juke a blight. Yeaht thats possible but not that easy to pull of if someone knows how to avoid getting juked
"Not that easy to pull off if someone knows how to avoid getting juked" how is this bad, so if a player is good at avoiding juked it is expected for them to be hard to juke? Am I missing something? Are we really expecting killers should be easy to dodge/juke even if the player is good?

She has a chase power. She's also arguably the best m1 killer in the game. If you dig that, you dig the pig.
Lmao, yes the pig is the best m1. Not even close when things like singularity and dredge exist. Looping a pig is prob one of the easiest feats achivable in the game. Also that supposed chase power (the ambush) only works if the survivors lack any knowledge of how to loop.

Third Seal is pretty underrated. I used to use and fear Devour Hope on Nurse and was glad almost nobody used it on her, and now that Devour isn't really viable on her anymore, Seal Nurse is the next scariest thing that I'm also glad nobody is using. If you aren't on voice comms, any killer that can dish out hits fast and slug is pretty terrifying with Seal as finding people will be nigh impossible. And even on voice comms it isn't all that easy to navigate. Hooks can be difficult to find as well, particularly on indoor maps. It also counters aura perks and items of any kind, most notably things such as Windows Of Opportunity and Kindred.
I have used Third Seal a lot on Legion and Oni in the past, often alongside Infectious Fright. I like the gameplay loop of never having to pick survivors up, with little to no downtime, constant chases, no camping or tunnelling. Of course, Seal as any Hex isn't all too reliable, you want to use Undying and perhaps other Hexes alongside it if you actually build your gameplan around it. But I do think it can also be neat enough even without doing so, just benefitting from it for as long as it is up, changing plans once it isn't anymore.
For anyone that wants to give it a shot, it's really strong on Nurse and Alch Ring Blight, but if you aren't comfortable with those killers, Legion is the most reliable Seal abuser. Use Never-Sleep Pills and Mural Sketch and try to slash every survivor asap, so that everyone will be afflicted by Blindness and you can start slugging right off the bat. Ultimate Weapon is better than Infectious Fright these days, as it will not only allow you to find the next victim after downing a survivor, but also enable you to reliably chain your first hits. And it causes Blindness, which is beneficial should Seal get cleansed. It even helps you protect Seal, both because it enables you to find survivors on and around it, and because the scream will interrupt survivors trying to cleanse it. Undying is mandatory. The remaining perk slot can be used for various things. Usual suspects would be a gen perk such as Corrupt or Surge (or Pentimento/Ruin), or a chase perk like Bamboozle or Brutal Strength (or Blood Favour/Crowd Control). I have also often used Kock Out, for something to fall back on, although in that case I would rather not use Seal to begin with and rely solely on Knock Out.
If you are on comms and third seal gets value, thats an incredibly gigantic skill issue.

when the killers is close a bars fill up if the bar is full the survivor can unhook himself but the bar doesnt fill up if a surivor is close.
The problem is that the process takes like 20 minutes if the killer is five meters away of the hook, so your teammeates that cant see the bar are going to try to rescue before the second stage so the killer doesnt need to stay away from the hook and the bar doesnt fill up.
This is a skill issue on thr survivors part tho, if you know the anticamp mechanic exist you will see the killer is close and leave, why try to rescue? Its a dumb desicion.
-
Another m1 killer to loop endlessly, good cosmetics tho.
-
I mean technically of you keep getting stomped your mmr should drop to a value were you can start using bad killers and meme perks and still yield results.
I personally like more the mmr change they did, it actually made pubs somewhat interesting, before people lost matches to M1 killers in supposed high mmr, that was a disgrace. Now you get people that will devour pig, doctor, trapper, myers and freddy showing you they are at least decent at the game.
For killer it made you start to learn high skill ceiling killers and drop the meme ones, it makes the game more skill oriented and I like that.
However this is not to say mmr made everyone a comp player that can go toe to toe with a good build, I main slinger and people still let me 4k, so still plenty of bad players around for you to play bad killers.

We are talking about forced hesitation not forced penance.

@MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:
Chucky did not nerfed.
Xeno's missing m2 was so forgiving, survivor was not even making distance. I am sure it was so enjoyable for killer players but balance is not working with this way.
Huntress has limited hatches, she is 110% and she is losing speed when holding hatchet. So the nerf you mentioned is not gonna happen.
Deathslinger got clapped despite being a 110 and lost speed while holding the harpoon, that did not stop bhvr into making him easy af to dodge.
However as a slinger main, people are so bad they still get sniped (idk why its literally piss easy to dodge), so maybe even if they nerf huntress people are so bad at the game it wont make a difference in pubs.

And thats why the game is a killer sided map
If all gens are not repaired by the time the map is a dead zone the survivors have missplayed incredibly hard. Its like an alch ring blgiht losing a match in dead dawg, absolutelly inexcusable and the only way it happened was because the players was bad.

that, actually, would be totally fine. I was gonna say you could get into a stalemate where survivors didn't do anything, but unhooking each other would be conspicuous action.
Or a recently unhooked survivor can destroy the killers traps, biopods, portals, etc since none of them count as conspicous actions and the killer cant prevent it because they cant be downed.
Do people seriously suggest this? Like have you ever played killer in order to see the flaws of this proposal or you just think of the first suggestion that comes to mind?

I feel like some people really don’t understand how strong Larry can be. This is a hot take, but I think he’s high A tier with Spirit and Wesker when certain perks and add ons are in play.
Larry can only be A tier if he is facing very bad players. As greedying loops and using the spare distance is incredibly effective against him. Also under NO circumstance ever should a singularity get a hit with overclock by the pallet break stun, no aware person will let that happen.
However taking into account the average soloQ teamate can feel trapless trapper to be oppressive it makes larry look better than he really is.

Chucky is easily top 3 killer. otz will likely make a 50 winstreak video on him. you can get hits on every single loop in the game. When playing against good chucky, he feels like nurse level oppressive in 1vs1. I do not think stats reflect the power-level of each killer. those stats in particular are too small of sample size. The perk stats work because there is large amount of submissions for perk stats. I don't think many people are going bother uploading their entire killer matches on Nightlight. those stats are simply not going to be accurate for killer beyond perk usage rates.
Slinger can outplay every loop on the game yet he is not op, in fact he is easy af to dunk on. I dont buy that argument of chucky being able to get a hit at every loop making him op, also you can juke him in slice and dice.

How about instead of surrender button a fix to tunneling?
DS 5 seconds. Cu later tunnel meta.
You say this but taking into account efficient tunneling is focusing the weak link I do not think 5 seconds will be enough for a bad player to escape tunneling. It will like old times, people who are decent will have a good antitunneling perk and bad players will be defenseless, which is pointless because if you are tunneling you should go for the weakest player anyways.

I don't get why they don't just take a step back from chapter after chapter and just work on bugs, reworking problematic killers or subpar ones, add-ons, existing perks, etc
Because each time a big patch that changes things like this comes out there is no spike of playerbase, unlike when new characters come out. From a financial standpoint, new characters are what bring in the money not this patches.

Dont you think it is possible? Or rewarding?
But i am always for good killer design tho, if this is what you are implying here. A killer that can go for many hooks are Blight, Billy or Demo, just to name a few. Named killers are overall considered fun killer, by survivor at least.
I appreciate that you clarify that they are fun for survivors, because that much is true. However if the survivor team is sentient there is no way a billy or demo can get 12 hooks, if that happens the team had to severely misplay that match as both of those killers are very easy to loop.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3590478#Comment_3590478
Tunneling a survivor out is much more frowned upon because 4 people get to have less fun in a game. Also understandable due to one person having very little time in a match if they are not exceptional in looping. If it's a Nurse, Blight, Wesker, Spirit or Pyramid head it's even worse. The thing I don't get is how tunneling killers can have fun. In games where I'm the killer and a survivor is eliminated early, the rest of the game feels like such a chore. There's no tension or excitement, but if the survivors actually go on chases the game can last quite awhile before its finished.
While I've never been part of a gen rush squad, I imagine that there can still be quite a rush associated with trying to do it, especially if you aren't experts at the game and give the killer a chance to snowball.
What I meant is that fast gens is generally seen as a "skill issue" of the killer. They should play better. Which to some extend is correct. But that doesn't mean that the killer enjoys these types of matches. One person definitely has no fun here.Outside the absolute top level of gen rush squads though, a killer does have the ability to get better at the game and fight against gen rushing. I have no control over the skill of other survivors (even if I was in a SWF, that would only be partially true). The game can be decided before some of the survivors have had any meaningful engagement with the killer. That's probably an inevitable draw back of the game's design, but its considerably more annoying.
On a related note, gen rush is not something a killer should encounter until they have some experience at the game and will really only be maximized by SWFs. Any player as a killer, regardless of experience, can tunnel.
Additionally, gen rush squads are at least quick.
Finally, and opinions vary on this, the killer can always play for one kill. I know it doesn't feel the same for every player, but to me if I hit a SWF with high level addons a 1k still feels pretty good. I've never heard anyone talk about a similar feeling from 'well at least we got 3 gens finished'.
In my opinion, the community should stand up and acknowledge that both sides fun should be seen equally. Just because there are 4 people doesn't mean that it's OK for the one to have no fun on the expense of the 4.I don't think any player should have to adjust their play style, I do think any issues with the game that lead to it being 'unfun' (and there are quite a few) should be addressed by BHVR, not by any "rules" that the player should follow. However, given that issues will be addressed one at a time, it makes sense to explain why certain things are bigger issues than others.
Nah a 1k in every cimcurstance means the killer got clapped on. Should never be proud for getting dunked on.

You can't be serious. You're upset that survivors have a TR indicator, which has been in the game from day one?
It's also not basekit Spinechill still. Spinechill gives way more info AND an action speed boost.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3571371#Comment_3571371
They can't make up for it. Two people cannot work as efficiently as three people. A survivor literally doing nothing is lost efficiency no matter what.
Also, sidenote, @scorpio : I'd quote your post, but it's on another page, so I can't. Anyway: You can't have DS disable on someone else getting hooked, it'd create a 'tunnel-for-free' scenario if the killer camps the hook and puts the unhooker on it before tunnelling the first survivor again.
This is not true, a good team with someone that has DS can just send that person to take away the killers set up, yes it does not apply with all killers but for example, while I have DS I can disable singularity pods, clease hags traps, disable trappers traps, solve pinheads box, seal demos portals, set up turrets at loops against xeno, disable skull merchants drones, disable sadakos tvs and all this with the security that if the killer tries to stop me I have a safeguard (this may not work against sadako as she can condemn you tho). You clearly do not know how to use DS offensibly and it shows, you can absolutelly make up for the 60 seconds you are not doing gens, if only two people are on gens but one destroyed the whole killers setup while having a escape card, then that killer lost all future pressure and has to take in time to set up again.
-
Absolutelly, unlike pig chucky rewards good plays, has custom chase music and is actually a good killer, anything pig does chucky can do better, no reason to preffer pig unless you are a massive saw fan.

And it proved most times DbD stats and Nighlight stats are pretty close to each other. So when BHVR shares their current stats , you will see Xeno is performing so well like what we are seeing. If it is different, you can @ me .
I replied because in the OG message you didnt mentioned stats you mentioned xeno being strong because you said so. Even then I disgree hardly in using stats such as killrate to determine if a killer is good, pre-rework sadako had a high af killrate, and she was a meme m1 killer. If you use killrate as a way to determine strength Im sorry but we will have to disagree as I refuse to believe an m1 who you can loop for at least an entire gen if you are decent is better than blight.

I checked his kill-rates, they were looking fine. His pick-rates are also fine, people are playing him pretty often.
And your example won't prove anything, if you have stats which shows he is performing so bad let me see. If you don't have, then it's just words.
I never said he is performing bad, in fact I think he is a decent killer just not a very good one as people believe, more that your example was rooted on as you said words, and idk if nightlight or other stats sites killrate is a good factor in determining how strong a killer is, if thats the case pig is an absolute monster and we all know your team has to be purposely throwing in order to let pig 4k

singularity is not low reward this is just something people who never give him a chance keep parroting.
he's an oppressive killer in chase and has one of the most unique and versatile gameplay.
He is absolutelly low reward, for instance if I spent the same time learning and mastering singularity as I did say blight or wesker, the wesker and blight player will get rewarded more for good plays while the singularity player would not. Even if we take that aside looping singularity is easy af, I play larry a LOT and let me tell you any time someone drops a pallet on me when I am on overclock I think they are bad. You have a visual indicator that tell you to NOT drop a pallet, if you do you are just quite bad, even then if singularity chases you he is still and m1 killer that can be looped easily, can he tp behind you? Yes, does he give you a starting distance that you could use to get to a loop/vault a pallet/window? Absolutelly yes. Now why can I still win most matches as larry? Because people are awfull at this game as I said there is no excuse for a singularity to get a hit after you throw a pallet on them, but somehow people are so bad that they do it, I bet those players would also let a trapper 4k

Its the problem with having few killers that actually reward the killer players skill, they get saturated, like there is absolutelly no point in playing trapper when blight and nurse exist, hell even if they did not exist, wesker does.

I mean, the "BHVR is survivor-sided"-Argument can be pretty dead after this Patch, which only features stuff for Killer. Not even asking for compensation or anything. Just content.
But I really would have liked to see something for Survivors in this Chapter. Because it is a Killer-only Chapter and there will not even be any content for Survivors (aside from maybe a new Map, but this is for both roles). And considering that there will be no Midchapter in December, Survivors will have to wait for new things until January, when the Midchapter drops with a new Survivor. (And I am pretty sure that this Midchapter does not only include things for Survivors)
Best Survivors can now hope for is a Bugfix that female Vaults are fixed, lol.
I find this hilarious as you are without fault always replying to people when there are patches that dunk on killer and give nothing for them or give absolutelly useless stuff and buff survivors, "every patch does need to give both sides things" but you say this now. I get it is dumb that this patch only gives things for killer but your reaction to it being the complete opposite of what you reply is amazing.
