Neme and other killers are being useless are still playable
Yes trapper is still playable but we should not strive to reduce every killer to the joke that he is, because you know people kinda like having agency in their matches.

Alien needs changes his tail form should have cool down like 1 min in that form and after it goes down like Myers ability or 2 hits and cool down .
That would made the killer absolutelly useless, there would be no reason to play xeno over nemesis or any decent antiloop.

The counterplay is to realize that gen progress is massively slowed and that you can pressure half the team with zero effort.
Things that are unfun to verse are ok in the game as long as you can win against, it seems to be the message this conveys. We should bring back old legion and old slinger as they were miserable yet easy to beat, unless this rule only applies to killer issues, which is also what your comments in this an other threads regarding this combo hint at.

Then i play against extremly bad survivors 80% of the time.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3568405#Comment_3568405
Some may argue that a killer will (almost)never face a single DS if you are not tunneling. DS, like i said, should have a simple rule: It deactivates once a survivor is doing a healing, cleansing, repairing or sabotaging action.
If the killer really eats a DS with those perk restrictions, the survivor did either nothing (which is arguable the worst survivors can do) or the killer simply tunneled. And if, for whatever reason, the survivor takes a down for a teammate, the killer can still slug that person and go for the next one. The pressure he creates with 2 downs is in a normal game already loosing condition to survivor teams.
I would even be fine showcasing the killer that the survivor has DS.
Easy example how you fail the see how good basekit DS can be. I get unhooked with DS, if the killer is trapper, hag, demogorgon, singularity, skull merchant, pinhead and so on you can cleanse/destroy their traps/props and still be completely safe because of DS. The killer might not even be tunneling then WOOP all their setup is gone and if they go for the survivor who is taking away the setup they still get DSd and lose time for it, they are in a lose-lose situation.

The reason to cage survivors is because it's faster than hooking, prevents survivors from saving them mid-carry, and denies survivors perks that function off of being hooked/unhooked.
Let me save ≤10 seconds with a cage for it to spawn near a survivor and they instarescue so I lose map pressure and survivors save the time it takes to get to the place I would have hooked their team mate. The total time save its negative if survivors spread which is what any. Decent team should be doing.
-
I do not know how feasible it is that bhvr changes him but if they do they need to do something else with tormented as the fact that cages do not proc bt and so on its the only good thing they provide, without that if you do not change or add anything to cages, tormented becomes an useless status effect and there would be no reason to cage anyone.
-
There are two sound cues when xeno uses the tail attack, the first one is like a windy sound which mean the tail went back and will shortly hit, when you hear that if you are on a short loop crouch, if not you can wiggle to make xeno fail the attack, and as always with killers like this baiting windows and pallets is key to extending chase time. This is all without turrets, if you place them accordingly you can make xeno waste so much time the chase should be a lose-lose for them time efficiency wise.

My favorite way to scare survivors as dredge is simply not coming out of a nearby locker that they didn't lock.
Teleport to locker near gen
watch survivor react by running a short distance away
They come back to gen because they think you've moved onto another locker
They lock the locker now that you've drawn their attention to it
You get a super jump scare grab
This should never happen against people with eyes, because when dredge remains in a locker for some time the locker gets some VERY visible particles that show dredge is inside.
-
@CoolerBleend said:
Nightfall is meant to be scary, but all it is is an accessibility nightmare.
I have short sightedness and astigmatisms and the darkness literally makes it impossible to distinguish between things in the environment whatsoever.
Also the audio that plays during Nightfall is just overwhelming. It's not even scary its just the constant moaning that gets louder as nightfall progresses just makes me feel drained. And with the addition of Dredge's loud passive audio from his body it just becomes too much.
Just because something is meant to hinder you, it shouldnt make it almost impossible for people with sight problems/ auditory problems to play against
If you make nightfall more visible you might as well remove it as shown how useless ptb nightfall was against people with semi-decent game sense. Dredge would need a full overhaul because without nightfall he is not a good killer.
-
I emphatise with you however you should play survivor, and I dont mean this is a bad way, its just that accecibility features for killer are non-existant. Other alternative might be to keep playing killer but on mute, which is not the best and will deny you information but its maybe a solution.
Why do I say this, because as much as the prople in this thread emphatise with you, relying on good will is naive, the people doing that spam do not care if it gives you something, in fact im pretty sure if they knew it gives you pain theyd do it more. So relying on them to behave is frankly not a real expectation to have.

@LordGlint said:

Nightfall acts as a Dredge buff rather than just blinding everyone. Even if they adjusted the visual aspect, it affecting the killer teleport is still a positive thing. Maybe they could buff the time between nightfalls in exchange for not causing survivors to be unable to see anything. Give more super dredge time, ya know?
I mean you can tp around the map as much as you want, if I can see you while in nightfall you aint gonna surprise anyone, me and my team can just pre-run and waste as much time as posible.
Also if this change happened you should take off the undetectable from nightfall since it would be useless like it was on PTB dredge.
On top of that if nightfall only did add onto speed then just run boat key then, thr mrchanic would have no more use than a good addon would.

Dude all of this aside objectively looking at this killer he has one to many powers anyway not to mention i have been going against nothing but dredges this entire week he is very meta rn he is too strong needs adjustment and the nightfall needs to be looked at at the very least marginalising a portion of ur player base i litterally can’t play the game right now because all I’m going against is dredges and it’s not fair and waiting out the darkness is just dangerous since behaviour has needed things survivor gen healing speed ect
Aint no way my man just called a glorified m1 killer OP, nightfall is probably the only moment in the match dredge can be considered an A tier killer, his whole theme is hr is kinda bad but when you get nightfall hr turn into a nightmare.
Also nightfall is made to be hard to see when it arrives, if it were easy to see in it then we would have PTB nightfall which was basically useless.
Edit: on top of all this dredge is one of the noisiest killers in the game so even if you can see him you can hear him miles away, you can even hear him through walls and avoid being mindgamed. Not to mention locking lockers wastes tons of time and gives you a very usefull heads up in chase against him.

I'd argue that people who have played the game longer than most are actually at risk of being stuck in their ways and assume they know better than they actually do, resulting in - not necessarily being unable to understand - but unwilling to look at things from different, fresher perspectives.
It's not uncommon; look at jobs where experienced workers often overlook things newer employees find, despite them believing the experience they have gathered over the years should prove them the expert. Happens quite a bit in the care profession.
As with any killer, it takes time to properly assess a killer and to learn new ways to utilise them. Some people feel she's crap, whilst others believe she has untapped potential. Time will tell.
Well, just seeing the evidence, comp players have given a quick and accurate opinion on the recent 4-5 killer releases, so if we go by track record the only thing that happens is that the people eho said "give the killer more time" ended up agreeing with comp players day one opinion or still live in copium somehow everyone is wrong and they are the only ones who see the real picture about that killer.

Sure, it is a sample, thats why i think it is only a good indicator, and not the reality.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3557537#Comment_3557537
We can only assume that it has something to do with that. Or do we know the european/american data aswell?
Thats not how statistic analisis are done tho, you will never have the complete result, most analysis are done with samples. You cant phisically account for all individuals in a population to get data on, data science uses sample estimates to get close to the actual estimate, this is quite literally what data analysis is about, if nightlight shows to be statistically significant of a sample to predict the metrics of the overall population then statistically you can infer behaviours with the sample. You absolutelly do NOT need to get the comokete population in order to analyse something, if you did we would not have antibiotic treatments, quantum physics and so on, and as weird as it is this being a videogame the data is still analizable in scientific manner.

Because it is counterable.
You have eyes and ears, you can usually find the person sprinting after you.
Likewise, with only two people on gens, the game is going to be extremely slow. You'll have plenty of time to recover.
I've found the combo to be excellent at delaying a tunnel out, which is great for the game imo. Nobody likes loading in, seeing someone get hooked and then tunneled out in two minutes.
Didnt people had eyes and ears to counter old spirit too? I absolutelly do not care about FtP+blucke up but it pisses me off how "the visual heart beat is good for disabled player(which is true). But if I complain about audio issues as killer I get the: "use your ears/eyes LMAO". Everytime someone as killer complains about something that isnt fun, they just get replied with the classic git gud, but somehow that answer is not valid with survivor issues to te point of gutting killers because of said complaints (altho some survivor perks have been gutted for the same reason too).
-
@Pulsar said:
Well, that's generally at least two people not on gens.
So I'd say just roll off of that
Why is it that the "it had no counterplay/its not fun" argument its never valid when discussing killer issues, old slinger and old legion were easy af to beat, yet they were changed because they were unfun/uncounterable. Much like you said this combo has two people not on gens, that doesnt make it less unfun or counterable, I just hope given your responde you do not argue to change things based on how unfun/uncounterable they are as you show clear bias in this comment.
-
Even if you are injured if people do not cleanse she is still an m1 killer, so looping her for a long time should be easy.
-
If you remove swf you literally kill the game my dude.
-
Ok, so now we are tunneling two people at the same time? Got it lets wait for the legendary triple tunneling or the dual facecamp. This is such a non issue really.
-
Nah, the horrible feeling that you get when you lose as killer is what makes you want to get better, if survivors didn't behaved as awful as they did when I behan playing I would not have had the incentive to get better and stomp them in the first place. Its hella motivating to not feel that way, if you take that away there is no incentive to get better.

Overclock comes combined with a teleport. It makes greeding loops much riskier in short range, and makes chases start much faster if used at long range.
It's not as overwhelming as top tier powers but it is definitely a strong and useful power that warrants counterplay like the EMPs. If the EMPs didn't exist, Singularity would be monstrous.
Id disagree, as I said the distance the teleport gives you and the fact that overclock can just be runned around made it so the few times I have been in chase with him I have had no fear whatsoever as his power was not really a threat to me, im still in control of the chase. Different than things like xeno, nemesis, wesker, huntress and the like, where their power do have to make me pay attention in chase idk I seriously have never considered sigularity this hidden gem people talk about, he is just a glorified m1 killer that much like his peers is easy to dunk on. Mind you this comes from someone who plays him a lot, most of the as I get an overclock down I do not think "that was so skillfull from me" I think "man this survivors messed up HARD".

Blight is the second strongest killer in the entire game. That level of results is not required for a killer to be well designed, even in scenarios where you have to put in a lot of effort.
I disagree with that second part a lot more, too. Singularity's power is not controlled by the survivors in that way, it just has more straightforward counterplay than some other powers in the game. EMPs are good, they're not overtuned anymore.
I was not only talking about EMPs, at its core overclock isnt the montrous power that people say warrants EMPs, I can just greed the pallet since the TP gives me a distance of separation between us. Or if I am somehow injured then MfT will make sure greeding against singularity conveys no risk at all. Overclock isnt really something to be scared of in chase its still an m1 killer just with a bit of flavour for some seconds.
-
"EMP a pod? Just replace it in an instant" if you played any bit of singularity you would know pods are incredible uneffective to use as a gen protector, they are chase tools. Yes I can replace a damaged pod in seconds but last time I checked you have to GO where that pod was, so any decent team can just EMP your 3 gen setup constantly and make you rotate the gens while they end repairing them.
-
@jesterkind said:
He's about as far from a failed killer design as you can get, unless the only marker for success you use is popularity.
He was never going to be a popular killer. Macro-heavy killers never are, let alone macro-heavy killers that are as hard to play as Singularity. Despite that, he has a strong and rewarding power that has a clear mechanical niche in terms of fun factor. He's pretty well designed, he's just very hard.
The amount of effort you put into him is nowhere close to the payoff you get, if I practice blight I can see my skill affecting the match, with singularity there is a cap to what you can do and that cap is mostly controlled by survivors.
-
I mean if I had to choose between a perk that can get value if the killer decides to camp (cuz if they dont thats -1 perk slot) or a perk that will get consistent value and absolutelly destroys all m1 killers, I think my choice is clear.

It would realisticly be 20-30%
Losing 35% would be due to him kicking the gen, instantly losing 32.5, and then having to wait for him to move away.
This would only happen if the gen was 99.99%, so it is more hypothetical.
It is still possible to win if they go down in 20-30 seconds, but with Pop, its not really possible.
Id the team is going down in chase that quick they do not derserve to win in the first place.

I'm for toning MFT down, as in removing the Endurance, it simply doesn't make sense.
I have never seen the endurance come into play, changing that would literally be like balancing blight with "making the fatige vfx after rushing obscure more FOV" it literally changes nothing that makes blight good, same with endurance for MfT.
-
I dont think its that big of an issue, like yes you are able to see thr windows and pallets but you still have to loop by yourself, I genuinly think WoO is completely balanced, like its just a guide to help you but doesnt loop for you of completely destroy chase mechanics like MfT does, run it dont feel guilty it helps you to actually start memorising tiles so that you dont rely on it on the future, fair perk imo.

That is Nurse's counter, yes.
I assume that's also why Blight hasn't been nerfed.
Unless you think you're playing against the best DBD players, I'm not seeing anything out of MFT that I'm not able to deal with. It's a strong perk, no doubt, but it ######### people over a LOT. This is doubly true if you have any gamesense and can make a decent read on your opponent.
Hey, as long as we also asume we aren't playing against the best dbd players on the killers side and perks like ultimate weapon are also ok, I have no issue, like this may sound like a sarcastic/snarky comment but its not, if someone actually keeps their position on a topic for both sides it shows imparciality, so actually yeah, asuming both sides are not gonna be the best players is a reasonable tought as long as it applies to both sides, like im all for arguing MfT is fine because most players arent comp loopers so it should never be problematic, as long as we hold nurse and blight to the same standar. I disagree on both topics, I personally think MfT, nurse and blight should be toned down.

The counter is that most players who use MFT will play worse with it.
The counter to nurse is that most players wont play her perfectly, this sounds just plain stupid.

If I were to post a match with me getting 0 hooks as nurse and my conclusion is nurse is not OP because I am bad at the game it would be dumb, same here, survivors are given the tools to dunk on almost all the killer roster, the fact that people fail to use them does not make those tools any weaker.

You have 2 choices:
- Give a strawberry candy to a good person and a bad one. The bad one doesnt appreciate your gift, but the good person is, you happy when the good person is happy
- Give a hot chili candy to a good person and a bad one. The bad one will insult you, while the good person feel sad, you happy when the bad person is hurt, and not caring about how the good person feels
Im sure dont want to get punished for something other did. Do you?
I am sorry to tell you but the satisfaction of giving the bad person the chilli candy outweighs the "good feeling" of being generous and the guilt of giving the hot candy to the nice person by miles.
Not to say OP should always camp and tunnel, I personally preffer a 12 aproach, but your example is flawed, revenge/retribution is way, way more satisfactory than empathy no matter how much people try and say otherwise because it sounds bad.
-
Probably because restricting skill might be good for survivors but not enjoyable for killer, I do understand that there is a pleasure in looping an m1 killer aka a fun/ balanced killer, as you as a survivor have full control of the chase, I do its fun af tbh, but it gets old at least for the killer player, blight is one of the few killers that actually rewards sick plays, yes alch ring, iri blight tag and all that bs should be erradicated but at his core blight does something few killers do, make the players skill count, even when facing opponents who are also good.
Other more simple explanations include: mclean is the only one that understands blight's code, or stats say blight is ok due to newer people picking him and lowering his killrate, same scenario as nurse.

Overcharge is poor design (specifically with SM is another matter) because it exemplifies the OG Ruin design.
It's absurdly punishing to new players since there is no cooldown, it can be applied infinitely and the punishment for missing an admittedly difficult skill check is severe. However, to more veteran players after the first Overcharge, it's USUALLY easy to hit. You can still be screwed over via bad RNG, but those players will generally hit the skill check making the perk nearly useless on its own.
That's why I want it changed.
I have read your arguments before about oc, however my point is you play a double standar with your arguments, the same justification you gave for overcharge being too punishing to newer players could be applied to xeno, each time someone complains saying they fail tail attacks your reply is for them to get better, however you fail to use this same line of tought for things like overcharge, hell I agree with this xeno nerf, he needed it but honestly be consistent with critisims either everyone has to get good or none has to.

The tail attack is fairly easy to hit, imo. Especially with how you can drag it.
The cooldown speed could be put somewhere in the middle.
Didn't you complain about overchargein other discussions?, why cant you argument be use there, its not the games or killers fault you cannot hit overcharge and many people find it very easy to hit so its an ok perk to have and does not deserve a change, by your previously used logic.

If they don't change the way Xeno's tail attack works and how curvy it can be around obstacles if you lead it to proper pathing, there's not much they can do to really change, besides adding some cooldowns and buffing the turrets a little bit.
TL;DR
The answer is negative - No bad thing is gonna happen to Xeno.
if they change the tail techs you can use to curve the attack you literally take away the only skill cealing the killer has. Id much rather punish more a missed attack than make him a plain boring killer with a skill ccealing as tall as victor.
