Well since her new kit is annoying af to verse, its only natural for people to complain

This is literally the reason why buffing killers to make people not have to face 7 weskers daily wont ever make people happy, people hate to face more than half of the killers and the other half is fun as long as the killer player is bad.

Bhvr just changed a very underwhelming killer and gave it a way to spread pressure while also giving survivors a way to disble her power and have a safeguard against condemned, so if people actually use tapes wisely they can hit her hard, however I am 100% sure people are still just ignoring Tvs and then complaining how fast condemned builds on them.

I like this change and tbf I know she will get nerfed in the hotfix/next chapter, but this events give me an example that "buffing weaker killers so that we have more variety" is quite the false argument as it is just saying that people want to play against the weaker killers while they are weak.

However in a more constructive critisism sadako rn is basically a hibrid of pig and pinhead, as her slowdon can be lethal and it requires you to think how you can avoid it in different ways, albeit easier to handle than pinheads box.

Nic Cage literally came out today. I imagine a lot of people are trying to play as Nic Cage and mess with his perks.

I think crowman gave a more reasonable explanation, would you rather play a new character with goofy voicelines and cool perks or a killer that got nerfed? Its a very predictable outcome.

I just don't see reason to nerf Wesker. His power is fine, he is not op. People just asking nerfs for him because he is so popular?

Popularity should not be reason for any nerf.

Im just pointing out a large majority of prople disagree wesker is balanced, hell I bet you dome consider him OP, you saying he is balanced or saying if blight gets and addon change he will be balanced does not change the fact that people will still think they are way too strong until we have a billy situation, were now that he has become a joke of a character he is suddendly the most fun thing to verse.

I agree with you im just providing a point that even if we agree on it a large majority of survivor players would rather see Wesker getting heavily nerfed than weaker killers getting buffed as a solution to the variety problem.

  • I am not very exited for the sadako nerf tbh, everything else I think its great tho.

I just disagree, Blight is getting unfair advantage by his bugs. Maybe this feel like that because of his ridicilous add-ons, maybe not. I can't tell because i almost never saw anyone playing with his base-kit only.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3492191#Comment_3492191

I will judge that after i see that. I can't know how he will be when they fix his all bugs.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3492219#Comment_3492219

Speed add-ons, C33, Alch Ring and Adrenaline are his problematic add-ons. Strong killer like him should not get this stuff. Look just Wesker and Artist. Both are A tier killers , only reason they are not S because of their add-ons. But they both are strong and balanced killers. Perfect examples for balancing killers.

Isnt there an ongoing crussade atm for wesker nerfs by people who play survivor because they rather see him nerfed than weaker killers brought to his level?

Mind you I know by your post history you preffer the later, however maybe its confirmation bias but you have been the only person that from thr survivor side suggest that rather than gutting wesker.

That no longer appears I think since they no longer gain passive condemned

mm, I do not have acces to dbd for like a week, ill watch some sadako content and try and see if it is still in the game or not, ill report on it in this thread or make a thread about it then, because I didnt contemplate maybe they could have removed it?

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3491737#Comment_3491737

Yeah you're not seeing the problem.

Sadako has NO WAY of knowing who has a tape and who doesn't. The small risk of maybe getting 2 meager stacks of condemned is nothing compared to the huge reward that is knowing you cannot be condemned by any means until she finds you to which you can run and put it in the TV next to you(You'll have plenty of time if you hold W the second her lullaby appears on screen).

This is not true, by seeing the survivors portraits you can see who has a tape by observing static on their portraits.

Spamming strong vaults is going to be pretty situational. Against Wraith it's only really useful for forcing him to decloak to vault a strong window. I think it's worth it in exchange for her stealth being better.

I don't see how holding W is the rework's fault either, that's always been a thing you can do lol.

Wraith has a speedboost after cloak that makes that not a big issue, sadako does not, there is not a reason to not spam good vaults against her, do if she tries to mindgame you as a survivor have the upper hand as long as there is a window thats not incredibly unsafe.

And what stealth are you on about she literally has a lullaby that warns you she is near, better stealth where? I know if she leaves me or keeps chasing me stealthy the visual TR will tell me that info, so that "buff" to stealth id non existant.

wesker is brainless? that's easily the most interesting take i've seen here so far

Nah, check their post history they legit believe wesker is basically autopilot for a 4k and disrregards all the arguments showing wesker has a high skill ceiling.

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

I honestly don't mind Wesker and i really don't know why people are complaining about him. Wesker is fun killer to face.

He is so popular because other killers are so weak. If they buff other killers, i am sure people would play them more which means less Wesker.

careful what you wish for, I have been playinf this game since it literally came out and many killers that are weak are also labeled as unfun by the survivor playerbase, for example wraith was a joke of a killer, rn he is in a very good spot and I can tell you more people hete him than like him on the survivor side.

my point being people love to talk about wanting variety but then hate if that variety comes in the form of a hag, twins, artist, trapper, etc as they are deemed boring to face so essentially you buff these characters, people play them more and survivors complain about them so they get nerfed or indefinetly complained about like wraith, people say they like variety but they really only do not like the killers they are facing atm more than they want to play against the rest of the roster.

I just hate opening the forums and seeing everyone (especially one person here) saying how everyone who plays this specific killer are terrible people and demanding we have our money wasted simply because they find it 'unfun'. Which I think is funny cause when COH was meta and causing hour long games there was radio silence. I guess hour long games are only okay when the survivors are in control of when it ends not the killer?

Sorry fam, I disagree with Pulsar on many things, however in this reply you not only contradict you logic but also plain out lie.

you say that doing a change to something people bought is bad and false advertisement and use CoH as an example, I bought mikaela exclusively because of how OP CoH was, and when they balanced it, I took it as a normal person that understands that is just normal in a game that has constant balance changes, just because some people like som4ething problematic that is no excuse for keeping something ufun/unbalanced.

Next you say that when CoH was on its prime there waas radio silence, what on earth are you saying!, there were like 5 discussion daily on forums, a lot of youtube content and comments on reddit etc on how problematic it was. even then CoH WAS CHANGED so even if we asume the community had no issue with it (which is false) the devs took measures against it, so there is absolutelly no bias in that regard.

The fact that many killers complaining about the average swf teams that impossible for them to win.

Then defense an average SM that able to stall a 50min match against the best swf team is just speechless. You simply can make the list of them so you try not to argue with them by any mean after this.

I once said if Devs buff killers so that a skill of 5 Killers win against a skill of 6 team and then lose to a team with skill of 7. They would ask for more buff because they're still struggle. Then after another buff they would win against the team 7 but lose to a team 8. The complaining cycle will repeat.

They just dont discuss for balance, they discuss for average killers to win the best survivor.

Im sorry but there have been like 3 people defending SM, I am a very biased killer main and I understand how problematic she is and how flawed her design is as a whole.

Even some other killer main here and in thr other thread discussing this match have expressed their not very good opinion on skull merchant.

You are literally taking 3 or 4 comments and extrapolating incredibly high.

Depends on which Hex build you're referring to. A Boon isn't doing anything against Penti/Devour/Ruin/Haunted, Plaything/Penti/whatever or Penti/Undying/Ruin/Haunted. Cleansing totems once, being exposed, and having a 30% gen speed debuff while having someone not even on a gen because they're cleansing again is a massive slowdown.

Why cleansing tho, I can just boon and literally pentimento wont ever come into play, yes it will take more time but as a whole is less time than either pushing through pentimento or 2 people searching for the totem.

  • @Hawk81584 said:

Here’s a question for op, if it comes to the point the game is 5/10 weskers and people stop playing ther game because of it, are you ok with that? Games grow stale when you see the same thing over and over again, whether you like that or not, it will eventually happen. What do you say they do to help prevent that from happening

Idk the game survived when there were literally only 4 survivor perks running, hell you saw deadhard each match and the game didn't die, better yet there was a time you got hillbilly 8/10 games and the game still survived.

So I REALLY, REALLY doubt that a killer that is mostly fun and balanced is making the game go stale and die, specially when we have had only one gamemode and the game is still thriving.

  • Not to mention legion and other popular but weak killers need nerfs under that logic too.

  • As a made for this hater id say, absolutelly NOT, a speedboost changes all the gameplay flow of the match, just because made for this exists doesnt justify making perks that break the game in a fundamental level, two wrongs dont make a right.

  • What is the point of this discussion? To highlight the awful behavior of someone playing as wesker and conclude all weskers do this and thats why they are so hated? Like what is the end goal, what do you want to discuss, there is any argument?

  • @ChurchofPig said:

I would assume the reason they would do that is because no one is going to switch to a different fun killer if they're already playing what they view as a fun killer. Regardless of whether I agree with that or not, that is definitely why they would rather nerf Wesker in some way to make him more boring than increase how fun the other 31 killers are.

Why as videogame delevoper would you make something that is agreed upon to be one of the fun things in your game that isnt balance breaking as nurse just because people like it, is like a restaurant owner making the peoples favourite dish that he sells a lot of taste worse because a lot of people like it?

Slug does nothing except prevent you playing the game (gens, totems etc).

Slug for 4k is worse because sometimes i don't even get chase because of my hours and prestige.

So now the killer refuses and let me for the last. He slug the 3rd one and now i am defenseless.

Someone said the killer is entitled for 4k ... in this case ... NO he just refused me.

Im gonna play devils avocate here, give me a reason for a killer to go chase a good looper, I have heard the claseic "you chase them to learn and improve" and thats true to an extend, if they go to a jungle gym or other tiles that can be played, but if you see a good looper goong into a good setup or for example GoJ main, house of pain, badham main, disturbed ward main, there is no point chasing them, there is nothing to learn, why would anyone put themselves in such a disadvantage if not to test their ego on how "they manage to get the down on such a tile" when they most likely already lost the match after said down.

  • I mean true, but I hope people understand too that this is the same reason that they see so much weskers, when no other killer is as fun and as rewarding as he is expecting people to play something like trapper or pig is foolish to say the least.

  • Lmao, they had to be awfull then, imagine terminus actually getting value.

But tbf you present a very good lesson, not every team that poses as a strong rival is one, so people should not dodge those lobbies, rather just play them, I mean if thry died to and endgame trapper I guess even a perkless sadako can dunk on them, but people really asume that those teams are unbeatable just because of their offerings/addos/perks, when they dont actually take into account they are not good enough to make the most of it.

  • Its a shame it makes blight way more interesting to verse and play, playing against a blight that doesnt know how to do techs is like playing against a billy that cannot curve, its just so simple.

Some pig has 180 win streak or something and that nothing to do with his skill but survivors throwing? It's very possible to win with m1 killers but certainly not as easy than with high tier killer.

Id argue that YES, in fact I wanted to do this experiment to see if it was actually the killers skill or survivors being bad, altho I didnt do it with pig I watched vigorously onepumpwilly's streaks live and the vods taking into account more than 400 games, sadly I have not recorded it in excel, but in those matches I may have counted at max 10 good teams, people who actually showed to be good at the game, and they either destroyed the streak or lost by a very close margin.

Willy is a VERY, VERY good player, however when he made mistakes survivors didnt punish him, they did not use the maps busted loops gainst him, ran tiles incorrectly, and worst of all somehow got surprised by sadakos even tho she has a lullaby that alerts you so that she doesnt ambush you.

Maybe ill watch that pig streak completely to do the same.

My point being these streaks just show how bad people are at the game, if you dont manage to loop an m1 killer for at least a minute im sorry I cannot consider you a good player.

If I lose, I would rather say my skill is unviable against survivor team.

If you win with trapper and the meme killers, I eould say it was the survivors team skill that was lacking, like how on earth you let a trapper get away with more than a 2k, or a non dondem sadako, its literally free wins handed to you, just spread on gens and chasing against those killers is easy af, if you are bad at looping use lucky break and overcome/sprintburst, and if you are good at chase use made for this and loop em for 2 gens minimum ir until they drop chase.

I am sorry but any team that dies to killers the likes of trapper, pig, freddy, nom condemn sadako, would literally struggle against tutorial trapper bot.

  • Good, even tho as myers you should not be T1 for more than say 30 seconds so its a non issue really, its good that MfT destroys m1 killers, it will make people choose the actual good killers and bhvr can see why m1 killers are a joke.

  • If they enter house of pain and you are not nurse or blight, drop the chase.

They wanted to essentially make EMPs a waste of time to get. They were right that they needed a change but to that extent? It felt a little silly, don't you think?

Also you cannot demand buffs to a killer after playing him for so little time. It doesn't work like that. Once you learn how to actually play the killer and see their weakness, that's when you do it, not because you didn't get a 4K immediately on your first game.

I actually do not think that, if there was an item that for example disabled blight's rush for a time, getting it should take time.

Also I disagree, on some killers like singularity that have relatively high skill floor yes, but an experience player can see flaws in a killer in very fee matches, comp and excomp players literally predicted how knight and skull merchant will be used for 3 genning day 1 on release, and they were met with the same argument of "its just the first day of release" only to be right in the end. They also talked about problems with borgo and garden of joy and people legit said "you havent learned the map is too early to complain".

My point is: a good player that understands dbd does not need much time to judge a mechanic and actually give a wise opinion on it.

I still remember people complaining after a singular day since Singularity got released that he needs a huge buff and to nerf EMPs to the ground. People's willingness to learn new things is deteriorating rapidly but it is what it is I suppose.

And they were right? Singularity on ptb and release was literal dog water, I am of the people thank think is is rather strong but saying that the original complains had no merit is a massive cope, thats like saying that ptb blight or ptb ghostface were good, people just needed to get better.

I never said he wasn't. I'm just so absolutely bored of facing nothing but him. This game has other killers too. Let me face them. I've played 4 SM matches. I'll gladly face her more if it gets Wesker off my list.

Maybe bhvr should give players a reason to choose the weaker and less fun killers over wesker.

  • I will forever be congused on why people literally sleep on lucky break, prob one of the best perks out there still because now it doesn't last 3 minutes people think its useless, pair it with overcome and you can waste so much time.

Well, like I said earlier, good job. Seems like you did well.

No disrrespect to them, but the floor got mopped with them, everyone escaped and got substantially more bp than them, saying they did good is just plain lying.

  • Wdym sadako got nerfed lmao.

  • Crushing defeat, not only was I defeated on stopping them powering the gens but two of them also got out, without much words I got absolutelly clapped if I get a 2k, I failed miserably.

  • I mean thats why he is so loved, he is easy af to loop and most of the time they are just trying to land like 2 cool saw hits per game so when you see a billy you know you will escape, therefore the match wont be stressing making it more fun for survivors. Not really much science in there.

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

I am not saying he is super weak. He is not strong but i don't think he is at weak-side. He is more like B-tier.

His power is not bad in theory. But... Whenever you use his power, it feels so clunky and bad. I don't know why but i am just not enjoying him.

After Trickster and Twins, he is in my worst 3 right now. I don't think any buff can make him enjoyable either.

Maybe he is not killer for me. What do you think? Do you enjoy with this robotic maniac?

B-tier killers are weak imo, however I brlieve singularity is A tier, I have been having a good time playing him and do not feel the cluckyness, mind you I played a lot of twins before so I feel he is much much smoother.

However he enter the group of like 90% of the killers where if you play against a team of decent players on a good map they will mop the floor with you and you have little to no agency in the match.

But if you wanna avoid those situations you just play the good killers the likes of blight, nurse and so on, so I think he is just an average killer that can be good.

Wesker himself isnt really a problem its just the fact that you face him 5 times in a row and in 70% of your matches... It gets really boring i would rather face something else so the game isnt that repetitive

Then ask the devs to make more killers as fun to play as wesker, when wesker exists why would I ever want to play twins, sadako, pig or any meme killer that is not only less fun but also your skill wont matter with those characters if you get certain maps/ face people who are sentient.

  • @Boons123 said:

It is not fun to encounter the same killer more than 3 times in a row, daily as well

I mean thats the problem when you can count in one hand the killers that are fun and also can give a good fight against decent players, I play slinger and other not good killers because Im stupid as hell but if I was good at blight..ooohh it could be amazing.

  • You can predrop, gain distance not greed pallets, because im pretty sure a tp cancela bloodlust, so you can keep chaining loops just by droping the pallet after overclock runs out or before he is close to the pallet forcing a predrop.

The counters are there, also knight and cringe merchant are problematic due to their lockdown ability and their powers not only being boring but making 3 genning the only playstyle thats valuable, thing that singularity does not have.

  • @Nebula said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3465444#Comment_3465444

That's exactly the point. You're forced to dodge when he aims at you but since he can drop his gun with little to no cooldown you've simply put yourself in a position to get M1'd. It's exactly like Demo's who fake shreds, Pyramid Heads that put their swords in the ground and pick up, Nemesis picking up his whip and dropping it, etc.

You get zoned by them simply pressing M2.

Tbf I think in his case is much less effective as the other two killer you mentioned are 115% movement speed so they can punish you, but you can still gain distance against slinger while dodging and hey for the people that do not like facing slinger, you live in an amazing time, want to make that player not touch slinger is their life, pro tip: equip made for this

  • @Nebula said:

    I disagree.

I think Huntress is the most fair ranged killer with the most counterplay opportunities. Yes, her hitboxes can be terrible sometimes, but that’s more of a connection issue in my experience. Her windup gives you ample time to make a decision on whether to run through for another loop or make an attempt to dodge.

Deathslinger falls into the camp of “zones you by existing” (a trend many killers from year 4 and 5 share) with how quickly he can aim and drop his gun. These killers are some of the least enjoyable in chase in my opinion.

I still have PTSD from when Slinger was the best stealth killer in the game and could quickscope you.

Edit: Slinger is also the best (if not, top 3) tunneler in the game and many will simply shoot you off hook and wait the ten second BT out. It honestly feels like an exploit.

Rn slinger has a slow aim animation accompanied with a warning sound when he is aiming at you, dodgong him is pretty simple idk how zoning can be effective when you dodge just after the sound.

  • If anything wesker saved this game, you have a character that is gun af and keeps people playing the game, if we had to rely on the engagement caused by the releases of the last 3 killers dbd could have lost many players.

Also if you want to see other killers ask for QoL improvements to already existing ones, make twins gameplay to a nightmare, make it so freddy isnt just a walking joke, pig could use some QoL too, trapper as well.

But as long as wesker is one of the few fun and strong killers that genuinly feels good to play and rewards your skill, there is no reason to touch like 20+ killers on the game at the moment.

There are plenty of strong killers. There are plenty of fun killers. For whatever reason Wesker appeals to the sweat lords.

I agree with the licencing factor, also I think his music is also a big factor but I dont know what killer you would consider to be fun and strong, I mean blight does comply with that description, and maybe oni (altho a good team should let you get power twice per match) but hes fun to use,and I think singurarity is strong and fun too but I do not know of other killers tha qualify either because they are not fun or incredibly easy to clap.

  • @Shroompy said:

Doesnt matter how fun he is to play as. People seem to praise Billy as the most balanced and perfect killer prior to his rework when in reality he was seen very similarly to modern day Blight or even Wesker just because he was seen almost every other game

Going against a Wesker is fun, going against 4 of them in a row? (all 4 of my surv games today) It starts to get old

I mean then you (or rather BHVR) should give a reason for people to play other killers, for example convince someone to play a meme character like pig or freddy, there is absolutelly zero reason to play some of the characters in the roster atm.

  • If only there were more killers that were as fun and rewarded good plays as wesker.

    Not quiet.

All hate goes for Nurse & Blight. Wesker has some hate too but no Wraith.

This threath has shown this to not be true, also dbd twitter swears he is OP, I know how outlandish it sounds, but these are the same people that said stbfl was OP and skull merchant was good game design, regardless what you say its not true, hate is not exclusive to those killers, in fact I guarantee you like 1% of the killer roster is not hate and even then they will get hate if they win.

  • Tbf what team manages to have more than 1 person slipstreamed? Like you can take it off whenever you want.

  • I personally like that your skill matters on blight, since idk what map you were playing or the layout really so I cannot comment, however I personally do not think killers which if you load in maps like garden of joy and the like your only hope is that the survivors are bad. So its like the same as facing a nurse as survivor, your ability to win exists if your opponent is bad, otherwise you have no agency.

Thats why I personally feel awful because as much as I have tried I havent managed to learn blight I have not learn to flick and use the fun techs, instead I wasted my time learning how to curve with billy and play him, absolutelly regret that.

  • I have never seen eruption do something useful after its nerf (incredibly deserved btw).

Yeah, I guess you could say that I'm saying gen defender Killers shouldn't exist. Killers like SM whose whole gimmick revolves around delaying the game as much as humanely possible are awful for the health of the game, and no, gen defense Killers aren't the meta at all, not sure where you pulled that out from. Do you wonder why Killers like Blight, Oni, Wesker, and Hillbilly are not only more prevalent than gen defense Killers but also more highly regarded? It's because despite not having built-in slowdown like Knight, Cenobite, or SM their lethality in both chase and map mobility more than makes up for it. You don't need to have built-in game delay if you have lethality and map mobility because just being able to down survivors faster than an M1 killer and being able to traverse the map already puts a ton of pressure on the survivor.

Killers like SM, Knight, or Cenobite don't have much in the way of lethality or map mobility so they have to make up for it by having built game delay which forces survivors in extremely unfun scenarios. No one wants to spend 30 minutes in a game against SM trying to break a 3-gen, having to constantly solve the box to avoid having a million chains interrupt you or being constantly chased by a Knight.

Billy having high rewards...thats a good one.

But I agree, we need killers like those (high skill high reward), but not including hillbilly as he requires high skill yet countering him is incredibly easy.

  • I have gotten plenty off kills without those killers, is it because of my skill? No. Its mainly because my opponets are horribly bad (who on earth loses to addonless pig/slinger/singularity?), But regardless, I am not playing nurse nor blight and still getting kills.
