I am personally tired of seeing complaints from the same people who completely ignore drones and run into them for no reason. People asked to make it more chase oriented, they did. Her hate is completely unjustified, she's hardly worse than some other killer in terms of annoyance, and she's not stronger than mid B tier when you don't ignore her drones.

Idk about skull merchant but I cannot take tofu seriously, my man seriously tought old slinger was S tier, absolute Lmao take, like sorry even if hes right I just remember that awfull explanation.

Notalgia can be one hell of a drug.

This isn't really fair, mate. Not everything is nostalgia or rose tinted glasses.

Sometimes people just have different tastes in graphics and aesthetics.

Exactly, we agree completely, hence why I made my comment. The OP says the old maps were better in terms of aesthetics which I as an old player cannot disagree more.

Its ok people have different tastes in graphics and aesthetics so saying old maps were better is just an opinion not a fact. one I personally disagree with.

  • I have played this game since the beta was avaliable, and contrary to most people I preffer the new maps over the old ones. Old lerys being the only one id probably miss and even then I still preffer the new one. Old ormond looked dead af, legit boring looking. I personally cannot fanthon how I played in old coldwind, its a less saturated borgo, just an eyesore tbh. Notalgia can be one hell of a drug.

Now I am not saying that new maps are perfect, they can be visually horrible like borgo or an atrocity gameplaywise like garden of joy or both like eyrie of crows. However I think greenville is very good design, has good loops and amazing visuals, hope is not a lucky mistake but the map design team is getting better.

I don’t think hold w and pre drop will work on a ranged killer like Unknown so I disagree. You’ll get hit my his ability trying to pre drop and while holding w since you can’t see his aiming behind you.

Literally just use LOS blocking? As log as you are not hugging the LOS breakers it you are safe. The current mechanic of the unknown incetivices the survivors to be better at the game and the killer to do cool trickshots while being unseen, literally one of the best design we have had since scamper brain chucky, discount nemesis with tunnels and the failure that was SM.

Playing unknown against good survivors rn is so cool because much like artist you only get one shot where you can injure after tagging them, but unlike artist the amount of trickshots and wallbangs you can do is amazing. That change would make him such a boring character, a net downgrade just to make him easier to face against people who will already struggle against trapper without perks.

  • The huntress buff was only needed in gigh level where she is actually not a good killer due to map rng. However 90% of the playerbase still manages to lose against trapper so its an uneeded change. In regards to clown he is still the same joke he was before, a little less funny but still a joke.

  • @Blueberry said:

I think his mechanic should be the opposite.

Not looking at him removes the debuff while looking at him pauses/refills it.

This actually makes him extremely unique and would make people play against him differently. Also the bonus of now he no longer hurts bad or new players excessively when they don’t know what they’re doing since they don’t look behind themselves anyway.

Not true at all, people would realize that in that case the best counterplay is to predrop the pallet and hold W while looking foward. It will turn a cool killer with interesting counterplay into another hold W flowchart. I know a certain content creator proposed this and its funny af because they critizice bhvr for making killer that are "you just have to leave the loop and hold w" saying they are bad at power design while his suggestion for unknown will literally change him into the killer they so much despise.

  • Hell yeah lets make slinger not be able to down survivors, amazing idea. Better yet a survivor with deep wound can nullify your set up and you have to hit them multiple times to interrupt them, say goodbye to singularity, alien, hag, trapper, skull merchant (lmao she deserves it tho) and all set up killers as a survivor can go undo your set up while having extra health states to protect them.

On a serious note are you aware the many other weaponizing this can do aside from bodyblocking? Like what I said above it would cause so much problems.

  • People being bad at the game should not justify those changes, you have a filter when near a hallucination and you can literally see its aura, if someone does not remove it with all that info idk what they are doing.

  • Tbf you can remove the hallucination before unhooking. Altho yes its quite strange they didnt add a slowdown when tp next to a hook their track record with powers disabling near hookds had been consistent. Singularity has to wait 3 business days after just using its power near a hook so I guess its just a common singularity L.

You can't loop this killer unless he's bad, his projectile power on impact has a radius that can get you at any short loop even if it was a complete miss and the longer you stay at any loop the worse you are , the best bet is just to make enough distance and hope there's not a a husk to teleport to in the direction you're going, basically another throw a pallet hold w on the killer chapter, I absolutely think he's high A tier if not S from what I can tell just because he has the ability to shut down strong loops and he has the ability to go across the map fast which are the two main factors that determine how strong a killer is.

Would recommend strongly watching some comp players play the unknown against other comp players, as saying he is another leave the loop and hold w killer shows either wilfull ignorance for the sake of the argument or the experience of a survivor that is quite bad at the game. He is quite loopable and the AoE can still be dodged.

  • Heavily disgree with your point of "you have to look at it for too long" because its just untrue. The way the unknown reveal mechanic works is different from ghostafce, it is not a continous look that triggers it out but a series of look events. So you can just catch a look at him real fast and the meter will go down for a while even if you are not looking at him. Do this like 2-3 times and you get rid of weakened.

  • @GannTM said:

I mean what’s different about a real person compared to a bot when playing against SM?

Making a bots match miserable isnt as rewarding for a SM player as it is ruining a real persons match.

  • Nah, if they had partial damage they would just be worst tricksters.

"The venom is not that good but it's still going to down the Survivor pretty quickly. Especially when people learn all the angles and nuances of the power."

Are you seriously saying people getting value when learning the ins and outs of a power should not be a thing?

On the other hand, if survivors are good the unknown has 1 shot before they remove weakened, and that shot can be dodged, so you as a survivor have ample options for counterplay against unknown.

Finally, saying that these killers play on a whole different level either shows willful ignorance for the sake of the argument or very little experience playing said killers. As killer is not only the chase but the macro gameplay and projectile killers still have to play the macro game.

I mean, they can still buff certain aspects of him if they think he underperforms.

Having a fun power and build from this is better than having a strong power and trying to make it fun for both sides.

Id say you cannot make a strong power be enjoyed by survivors. I know a lot of people say they like facing strong killers like blight, oni, billy and so on but from what I have seen they enjoy it as long as the killer player is not good, people love facing a bad blight but despise facing a good one.

  • Thats just the average facing a swf experience, accept it is just how they are and move on. Get better and start dunking on them so you can be the one dishing out the punches not taking them easy as that. Unknown has crazy potential keep practicing and I asre you most of the time swfs wont bm you as they will DC once they know they cannot just throw you around.

You can scroll down for a vid of my gameplay 20/50 Myers. No slowdown, no tunneling, 2nd hook only all get their 1st hook, 3rd hook only all get their 2nd hook.

Let me guess your future comment "they made alot of mistakes"

Does this have any footage? I saw only a spreadsheet and will welcome any footage. For example I have gotten up to 35 wins as slinger (without slowdown btw), and my conclusion was that it took me 35 games to get people who knew how to play because god damn my survivors would struggle against a goldfish in a chess match. Like I got 4ks as slinger in garden of joy, if a team is decent at the very least, a slinger should NEVER get a 4k in GoJ, yet it happened like 3 times. Dont have any footage too but might start recording because I need to show people how bad someone can play, like even after like 5 consecutive wins I still get survivors who get sniped, how on earth do they achieve this? I have gotten to thr point I believe some of them are throwing on purpose.

  • I am hyped af, loved the teasers but ultimatedly knew if the killer was a mimic they would be useless against swf and just another joke stealth killer. Lucky for me the power actually leaves room for skill and is a proyectile shot so as a slinger main and urban legend fan I am so exited about the release. I didn't know that visual heartbeat was a solo queue buff. Looks like I learned something new today.

Also, it's quite amusing how people (I wonder if those are mostly killer mains) emphasize that STBFL was nerfed, but never mention that killers received a basekit buff equal to 2 STBFL stacks. So, in the end, nothing really changed (except that you don't need to earn the equivalent of 2 STBFL stacks anymore).

    Strange, isn't it?

What are you on about, the nerf to stbfl literally made it unusable on some killers like slinger. Even the 2 basekit stacks do not compare to the perk literally not existing for the character.

And yes technically you can equip it on slinger but is like using oblivious perks on freddy, you will be better off using beast of prey.

Bare minimum would be to put DS back to 5 second stun. They should also have increased the hook timer to 90 seconds to combat tunneling and camping both, to make killers choose between giving up gens to focus one person out of the game.

Neither of those changes does anything whatsoever of the killer isn't tunneling, and can't be 'weaponized'. Go patrol gens, interrupt gen progress and chase someone else. You know, progress the game instead of just waiting for an unhook to chase that one guy you happened to find first.

ETA: The current only play against tunneling is to gen rush. That's it, that's the entirely of 'playing well' for 3/4 of the survivor team during a hard tunneling killer match.

90 seconds hook timer will just mean people can be more efficient on gens without getting their team off a hook, like actual good players do and use the hook timer as a resource to do gens. Say killer patrols gens after a hook so this increase in timer doesnt do anything because they arent tunneling, unless its a high mobility killer you can just prerun and keep an efficient gen time while prerunning and only rescuing teammates when they are close to second stage. If and this is a big if, the survivors are good then this change is a big change that affects as always the already weak killer that can be easily prerunned, but since the majority of the playerbase still die to meme killers like pig I guess this change prob could work idk.

You can't see the Killer prior to the game. If you know of a way to do that though....nah, I couldn't back fill some poor random into that

Dont you insist on going next/giving up on hook against SM, which is basically dodging a lobby and ruining everyone elses experience too?

You think Killers should be able to shop for lobbies?! Jesus, what a bad take.

Who the hell is talking about player levels, all I mentioned was the inability to lobby shop being a positive change.

Killers dodge all the time based off of items.

Don't you literally avocate for survivors to dodge skull merchant lobbies? I agree with your take dodging lobbies shouldn't be a thing but YOU specifically have no ground to stand on.

  • Good, instead of a mimic power that will get old in 2 weeks and will basically be ignored by swf we got a proyectile power that has room for cool snipes/bounce hits. His teleport is the smoothest one yet and rewards hitting proyectiles. So glad we good a good power and not just the undetectable status effect but worse.

The Game is great for Ghostface, you just have to play a bit more patient. It’s small, the generators are often in a good position for you to stalk them but also sneak up to them without being seen. 99 them then jump on them later.

They can’t loop you if they go down before reaching a pallet!

If they go down without reaching a pallet I would strongly recommend them to visit an optometrist. Almost all gens in that map have ample field of view, aside from the bathroom one and the ones inside rooms in the lower floor. The upper floor has an ample view space to avoid getting sneaked on.

  • @WolfyWood said:

    The Huge Problem In Question:

The Game isn't bad for killers, it's bad for killers that rely on bloodlusting and actually requires good macro.

Nurse, Blight, Ghostface, Spirit, Wesker are all decent on this map.

Agreed until you mentioned GF, an m1 killer on the game is easy to loop, if you sonehow on earth get downed by a ghostface on the game you had to do a horrible misplay.

  • @Pulsar said:

I really don't mind it too much

I really don't mind getting tunneled too, doesnt mean it isnt a problem.

On topic, best solution I can give the OP, stop playing m1 killers, they are frankly pathetic and have a low skill ceiling, try some of the good killers and try and get good plays most of the good killers can counter the loops on that map if you get good enough.

  • Because why would survivors preffer a 30% gen repair penalty over a status effect that can be countered by having eyes and ears? Its a clear choice which one is morr punishing an which one is easier to deal with.

  • @jesterkind said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3654499#Comment_3654499

No killer has to pressure gens and most killer players would do a lot better once they realise that. Pig, like every killer, pressures survivors and mostly only uses gens as bait. As for her chase being weak, that is literally what they are buffing on the PTB, so at least confirm the changes aren't enough before doomsaying?

It's meant to be enough to get the searches off, that's the point of her power. Survivors aren't supposed to die to RBTs, they're supposed to willingly trade gen time for the guarantee that they won't die to RBTs. That's the whole point. If this change makes survivors less likely to die to either randomly getting a bad box spread and not having time, or to Pig players who aggressively harass them away from boxes, good. That means the power is working more as intended.

Do I need to point out that there's more ways of tracking survivors than aura perks, and that spending box-search time healing is risky?

The chase changes wont do anything, ambush will still be useless, any person who knows how to loop will realise this. But if you want lets wait for the update just to show that ambush will be as usefull as ever, so still useless.

Boxes are meant to waste time thats true but they also had an added risk if the pig player was good at outputting pressure, they will lose that aspect and will be a side objective with no risk at all.

There are way more for sure, like crows or blood, grunts of pain too, scratch marks are good, still blood and grunts are not there when healed and given no changes are done to search time I have 30 seconds more than before and taking into account the previous time was more than enough, those 30 seconds are just a bonus I can use for healing with no added risk as I still have the 2.5 minutes that are enough to take the helmet off.

  • @jesterkind said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3654471#Comment_3654471

What exactly do you presume the Pig is doing while you're neglecting your trap?

I'd also point out that the Pig doesn't need to see box auras to interrupt you, she just needs to see you. If you neglect your trap for an entire minute, you're giving yourself way less time to actually search multiple boxes, and if the Pig brings any way of tracking you then you're going to be at huge risk of a head pop.

I think a lot of people are assuming that not being able to see the box auras automatically means the Pig is completely incapable of like, basic tracking, or bringing info perks. No, it's just slightly harder. The longer you have a trap, the more time she has to even just stumble across you when she isn't actively looking, let alone find you if she is looking.

She has to pressure gens, people healing or chasing as her chase is still VERY weak so any decent player will loop her for more than 30 seconds in fact a good player has no excuse to not loop pig for less than a minute if thry are not in a deadzone.

Also even now 2.5 minutes is more than enough to get even the 4 box searches off, the only risk being pig interupting you which will be more rare now so I wouldnt worry much about it.

As for pig using tracking perks: just use distortion, its usefull against all killers and with the change of auras for pig it will make all search boxes safe unless you are foolish enough to do it injured, and hey you have 30 extra seconds so you can heal in that time :).

  • @LordGlint said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3654027#Comment_3654027

You're claiming that all the gens are done before you can use the traps? I feel like you should be CELEBRATING that they're buffing the chase part of her power then. You'll be able to get 4 downs now before 5 gens are done on a killer with built in slowdown...

The buff to the chase will not change her effectiveness as ambush is still useless, if you know how to vault windows or drop pallets this change is nothing really. Like I think its more likelly to get downed by deep wound than to get hit by pigs ambush, you have to be trolling or just have less than 50 hours for ambush to hit you.

  • @jesterkind said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3653771#Comment_3653771

I feel like if survivors start ignoring their head traps it actually ends up fantastic for you, honestly.

You're not standing in a corner waiting patiently while their timer ticks down, you're generating pressure. They're putting themselves at extreme risk if they start ignoring traps because of a measly thirty second nerf.

Not really, I can literally just use that 1 minute to do gens or heal or do rescues, and then since pig acnnot see boxes anymore I can just take it off without worrying she will interrupt me. Its a win-win for me, I get a minute of objective time and also a safer box search.

    Common pig L.

  • @jesterkind said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3653395#Comment_3653395

It may be unnecessary but it's also immaterial, it isn't going to matter. Survivors already aren't getting just down to the wire on their head trap timers consistently, and the value from traps comes from the time they spend running between boxes, not from how short the timer is.

They are threatening, but only as a threat, not as a reality. The threat pushes survivors to act, and when they act, the threat disappears. That's the point.

The criticism that it's a nothing change that won't matter is an extremely different one to saying that they make head pops rarer.

Nah, since the nerf not only gives me 30 seconds more but also makes it far more rare for pig to interrupt me while doing boxes, there is no threat really just a little side objective that I have a lot of time for and I am WAY more safe than before because pig has way less chance to interrupt me while doing so.

They essentially erased the only snowball pig can do which was interrupt a box search and actually make the survivor prioritize the box. Boxes have the same slowdown as before, almost no snowball potential and her dash is still useless if the survivor manages to play dbd for more than a 100 hours.

  • @LordGlint said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3652836#Comment_3652836

Pig not seeing the boxes is a trade ill happily take for making ambush more useful.

Pig losing all the good pressure she can output in exchange for a 15% upgrade on an attack that is already useless and is still useless if their opponent has more than 50 hours is not a fair trade in my eyes.

  • This literally just disables stealth killers and they are not strong killers to begin with.

Something like that, yes. But with restrictions.

    The most important one being:

    • If the survivor that has the mechanic active AND another survivor is being chased, the killer loses collision with the survivor that has the mechanic active.

Making the perk basekit is a better idea than making a healthy effect (if used healthy) locked behind money.

Me when I get basekit ds and start disabling the killers setup because you do not need collision to use emps, the box, turrets or disable any trap and if the killer tries to stop it they get punished lmao.

Love how people loudly make fun of the devs when they roll an update with huge oversights when most solutions proposed by players contain huge oversights as well.

But the problem is you don't know if they have Background Player or not. And maybe with slugging, you lost opportunity to use PR and Pop. Hooking survivors are coming with rewards, depends on your perks ofcourse.

So maybe they don't even have BP but you slugged them for no reason and you did not get value from your perks for no reason.

Oh no, I fully agree, its a lose-lose situation for the killer (at the very least the first time it happens). Its only counter might be downing the survivor specifically in a position where this cant happen and taking into account few killers can actually choose were survivors go down (wesker and slinger come to mind) this is a counter that applies in very niche scenarios.

Xenos tail is far more malleable than Nemi's Whip. You can't crouch tech it nor can you cleanse it and get a 3rd health state. The point about Nemesis is just massive copium.

The point about DS is also pretty bad. Their powers function similarly, except DS has a wind-up and can be dodged reliably, unlike Xeno who can still drag his Tail if you dodge. Same with Nemi. He also has zero mobility and extremely poor map pressure.

Both of those Killers are much worse than Xeno.

You cannot cleanse it but you can put a turret up and disable that power for that chase. Even if the alien hits it the spare time from the cooldown will give you the same distance as a nemi whip when it infects you.

Also for someone who has an understanding of comp and high level play dbd (which isnt much its just people that are not incredibly bad) you underestimate slinger a lot, he is prob the best ranged killer (unless you count artist as ranged) in the game, and he can end a chase 10 times faster than a xeno can wish to achieve.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3641979#Comment_3641979

Those two Killers are a straight downgrade from Xeno, but if you like them better, that's totally fine.

Not even close, nemsis whip is far more dangerous than xenos tail, and survivors cant take it away unlike xenos tail. And slinger, mate slinger outclasses both xeno and nemesis in time to down every day of the week. You do not need mobility as slinger if you are ending chases in less than 30 seconds, something xeno should not be able to do if her opponents have more than 40 hours of playtime.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3641925#Comment_3641925

Maybe not, but we can address that after it's working properly.

It's already unpleasant now, so it may as well function as intended if it's gonna be ass to play against

Idk I dropped xeno some time ago, as there is no reason to play her when nemesis and slinger exist, hope the devs can make her tail not horrible but I know wont happen so ill stick to slinger.

  • @GentlemanFridge said:

Maybe they could take a look at some of his add-ons, but Slinger's in a pretty good spot right now.

Your mileage is highly dependent on your skill with him, and on what platform you play on.

As a diehard slinger main the biggest factor in the match is survivor skill, then your skill and then mostly rng. No good survivor will ever get sniped for example. However like 9/10 survivors I face can be sniped, not because slinger is good or I am skillfull, just because those survivors play like they bought the game yesterday. So slinger is still good in pubs but if survivors are good, then they have no excuse to not destroy that killer.

  • I was gonna say "give them 2 weeks until we have people saying billy is unfun" but there already some discussions about it so they beat me to it.

You mean...the tail attack where Xeno lost no distance for spamming it?

    Ah, of course.

How about this? We fix the hitbox bug with Xeno's Tail Attack that I don't think was ever fixed; then we re-evaluate. He is extremely oppressive in chase when he's in Runner Mode. He has good map pressure and map traversal. He really doesn't need anything right now, barring bug fixes of course.

I do not think most survivors would like xenos tail to be fixed, since it would be more "unfun"

  • Old sadako was a mid killer, old billy was a bad one,why play the mid killer that got nerfed when you could play the one who got buffed from being useless to actually being semi-decent?

I mean, nothing you've said is incorrect.

Like I said, I'm merely after details. Should I be trying to curve? Should I not be? Should I be going for back revs and zoning? What's the best way to practice? Guides? Good players? Anyone sharing the experience of new-old Killer MMR?

Also, I usually don't argue with DM mains because they generally tend to be the most fanatical, for lack of a better term. There's not so much a point to it. I also don't think I call players bad. Inexperienced? Yes, I've said that but I very rarely straight-up call someone bad. And a lot of the time the argument does boil down to that, like with the flashlight posts. It's just Inexperience, not being bad.

If you want actual advice for billy, as someone who wasted valuable time that could have gone to learning blight into foolishly learn billy, this is my advice:

Curve around chests, cars or snowpiles, objects with low vertical collision make for amazing curves, if the survivor seems good do curves widening your turn as they will try to dodge it, backrev when you are looping normally to bait them not dropping the pallet and get an m1 or better yet a chainsaw down. You can curve on long wall loops as long as you are fast enough or the survivor is distracted.

Finally if the survivor is actually more than decent, avoid chasing in jungle gyms or main building as you have no power basically, and switch targets as fast as you can.

However I dropped this joke of a killer before overdrive was a thing and have no interest of playing him again, so you will most likely be able to use od speed to catch up to some loops billy had no opportunity to counter before.

    Good billy players to recomend:

    Unclestanbanana comes to mind

Hens333 is also a very good billy

Im sure there are more but those are the most active imo
