I dont mind the speed boost im talking about how it slides the tentacle and players hit objects, compare it to alien. Alien doesnt attacks the wall and slides the tail hit, why nemesis able to? Needs to be accurate as how the animation is. Players hit intentionally objects bc of how the power is made.
Its way too funny because alien can do it as well and way more than nemesis mind you, like actually worse example you could have chosen.
Also that thing you are avocating for removal is perhaps the only reason nemesis is kinda good, because that tech actually lets him get some cheeky hits, remove that and he is just worst xenomorph, hell he already is worse xenomorph no reason to nerf him.

I got stabbed by legion, where can I report the person playing them for assault with a deadly weapon?
Like aside from the ironic comment, this debate is absurd, it is just a way of bming just like teabagging, it is not this horrible act that destroys your being.
Yes its mean and cringy but not anywhere different from a tbag, I really believe people are so bored they are trying to stir up some conflict, because this some olympic mental gymnastics that are used to equate such a petty action in a videogame to a real life assault.

Not that it is necessarily to blame, but BHVR made a huge mistake putting "Kill 3 survivors by any means" at the end of the event archive.
I worked through the entire archive 2 hooking every survivor and letting everyone escape in the end. I was doing way more than should be asked to ensure that everyone was happy with the results of the trial, even if for some reason they did not enjoy it in the moment. …until I reached the last archive challenge.
I did not want to spend any more than 1 game completing the archive, so I instantly played like a miserable POS who didn't care about the survivor's feelings. So you just played like every survivor does against killer for your last archive?

If you were good at Chucky, Chucky is stronger. If all you did with him was holding his power until you can scamper, he is way weaker.
Overall it is obviously better if players who use the character in a way which requires more skill and practice are rewarded.
He is stronger in thr sense he can use S&D more often however scamper became useless ans getting hit by new scamper requires you to be absolutely unaware of what game you are playing, or have a serious visual and hearing impediment. Did he deserve the nerf? Yes absolutelly, old scamper was BS. Id say chucky is stronger vs bad players because they will get hit by S&D but good players just became inmune to S&D, but before even if the chucky was bad he could outplay a good player by using scamper.
In my opinion the only thing bhvr needs to do is keep this change but return chucky flicks, tha way scamper is actually a danger when a chucky player is good but it is fair, contrary to what PTB has which is a scamper not even a bot should get hit with.

obviously yes, but that wasn't my point. "calling people softshells because they don't like being insulted by internet strangers is weird" is my point. it was just a pointless and needless insult from them that was provocative in nature and didn't add to the discussion.
I agree absolutelly unnecesary on their part. However I also think people exaggerate a lot what being called or typed in a videogame entails. Like just block/mute them I see no issue with bhvr adding vc to the game.
Mind you I have been called al sorts of things since my xbox 360 days and other games, multiple people have told me in creative ways how to keep myself safe or things related to my ethnicity. But alas I just press a button and the issue is solved.

"the softshells"
the way my eyes just rolled right now. apparently people just have to take ######### from people over VC or some random guy on dbd forums will belittle them and call them names for it. oh, the horror!I might be wrong, but can't you kinda just...mute peoples voice chat in games where that mechanic exists?

The meta exists in every multiplayer and some single player games, its normal. You cannot stop people from wanting to win, the fact that you play goofy and want to mess around doesnt mean everyone shares that view.
Its like going into a football match just wanting to do flashy plays and complaining the enemy team is playing to win. Much like you have the freedom to goof around other people have the freedom to play seriously.
And I am saying this as someone who tends to play off meta, you are the one choosing your build you cannot force people to run what you like them to run.

So good players never loop?
They do but it is important to know when to do so, if you see that predropping is thr best alternative to burn time and extend chase without compromising the match, then not predroping is a bad play.
Also even if we are talking about looping you have to be high or have less than 50 hours in the game to not loop an m1 killer for at least a minute.
And that is without any exhaustion perk being taken into account, the fact that pub players are downed so quick by m1 killers just shows how the average player doesnt know how to play the game.

Pig is actually a lot better than the community gives her credit for. She's just bad in comp because she will get pre dropped to hell and beyond.
So she is good against bad players?
-
@Rudjohns said:
At one moment this website had The Pig in the top 5
And yet she is often considered one of the weakest killers
What now?
She is one of the weakest killers, however she has a high killrste. Because the average pub warrior is incredibly bad at the game and cannot even loop an m1 killer. Proof of it are killers like sadako, which after her rework is incredibly easy to beat, yet pub player somehow not only die to her but get condemned.
-
You can loop a myers for entire days if he doesnt have tombstone. A good plague will down a decent survivor even addonless, thats why I guess people rate her that way. But on the other hand I might get hate for this but I wouldnt trust the japanese tierlist. Maily because of the goofest that was the japanese tournament. I also have tuned to some gameplay and its very entertaining but not optimized, it reminds me of old dbd where no one knew what they were doing.
However I here agree with something in this tierlist and it is chucky, he is not as bad as the tierlist says but he is the most overrated killer in the game. Any good player will dodge the slice and dice, his stealth is incredibly easy to deny, and his only strong aspect was scamper which was strong because it was BS. Next patch he still has a very easy to dodge attack, a subpart stealth and still has no flicks.
-
@RootsofDredge said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3715906#Comment_3715906
Why do you think chucky is overrated exactly? He has a strong chase power, is very easy to play, and isn't map dependent.
Rn his cooldown is his biggest issue, he is easy to play because of the scamper mechanic, which I do agree rn is problematic. But he is very easy to dodge if you are not out in thr open or in a deadzone. His stealth is countered by having ears and even if he surprises you and hits you with slice and dice, he has to wait 18 seconds before he can do anything, if he gets the down outside of hidey ho mode then lmao, that survivor got downed by a powerless 110 killer.
Is not that he is bad, Trapper, sadako and myers exist, its just that people overrate him so much when dodging him is so easy, his stealth is incredibly avoidable and prob his only unique aspect is he is the only killer that can use checkspots.
-
Agreed, altho is more of a dbd player thing rather than a killer thing. People to this day do not know how easy it is to counter new sadako, and there is a ton of videos explaining how easy it is to destroy her, yet you see a lot of players die to her.
Also dredge, I still see people locking two lockers next to each other, and I am like HOW??? WHY???
It is more because its way easier to conclude the game is unbalance rather than admit you lost because you are not good enough.

Like I said your overrating slinger my guy that's like me saying wesker is the 3rd strongest killer when ik he's not he's my main but ik for sure he ain't most people would agree slinger is b tier and chucky is A tier chucky has so many things slinger does not and I will list them
Slinger advantages as followed are you are ranged and can hit over small loops and gaps that's it
Chucky advantages your power is very hard to avoid due to third person if the chucky is good they can angle themselves to get a hit everytime if they know the person is going around a corner more advantages are followed by he's small hard to see while in chase makes chucky insanely hard to predict in chase with mind games your also in third person so you can peak around corners to see if the survivor is gonna hold a check spot or to mind game them chucky is also undetectedable while using his power which makes sneaking up to survivors to get a easy hit
Overall i enjoy slinger but saying he's better than chucky Is factually wrong and your being biased your barely saying any points and thinking slinger is better than huntress is crazy my guy I can't believe you said that you completely lost me when you said that yesterday 🤣🤣🤣 like how my guy
Literally ask any comp player, slinger is way more consistent that huntress. Huntress can snowball a lot but only if survivors make massive mistakes, slinger doesnt need survs to make mistakes in order to down them. Literally go and ask momoseventh, knightlight and other comp players, most of thrm will tell you that A:slinger is better or B:they are on the same level.
-
He wont be bad, but he doesnt have any unique qualities, why play chucky when slinger does anything he can do but better?
Like chucky without flicks is just a sad 110 killer with a semi decent antiloop, he is incredibly overated, like any decent team will wreck him die to time management, and now yes his cooldown is lower but his power is more easy to avoid so theres that.
My take is this change would be perfect if chucky could still flick, but in the state he is rn, just play slinger or wesker they are just objectively better.

@Dreamnomad said:
This post feels like killer bait to get survivors to use bad perks. Broken for the whole match is a massive downside.
It is a downside against SOME killers, like broken for the entire match against m1 killers is meh since you can just loop them till dbd 2 is released. For example broken against plague or legion is literally a non issue, against instadown killers is amazing if you are a dh user, but it is a huge detriment against good killer, the likes of oni, blight and nurse will punish you very hard for it.
However I think people are seeing it wrong, as if you do it at the start of the match, if I were to use it I would use it when few gens remain, that way the killers slowdown becomes more useless in the later match rather than stronger which is what happens when the match is advancing.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
Both.
It is a Nerf that you cannot just use Scamper to go under a Pallet and get a Hit. But it is also a Buff because you get to use your power more often. (Which was also a reason why players hold their power until they can get a free hit)
Overall a positive change. IMO they could have gone to 10 seconds Cooldown instead of 12.
I mean having a power you can use a lot that is easy to dodge is the same as having no power.
Imo the correct way to to this is exactly what they have gone but restore his flicks, it creates a bigget skill ceiling and makes playing him actually better because now he is just a 110% killer with mediocre antiloop, literally no reason to play chucky as slinger exists.
-

Sounds good, the guy was effectively doing nothing then, otherwise it would have deactivated... Where exactly is the issue? If they bodyblock hit them once and keep going for your target, it is rather simple...
A bodyblock while not that usefull can buy time for the target to get to a loop, if the laurie does a good bodyblock she esentially can let the recuer get to main building or a strong loop, forcing the killer to drop chase and go for the other target ir the bodyblocker. You are quite literally forcing a tunnel, that is to say if the rescuer is not dumb and runs to a deadzone.
-
@Archol123 said:

I've seen killers using 3 slowdowns with Nowhere to hide, Iri mori and results were 3-4 escape.
Those people are as bad at the game as these survivors. Both have no excuse to fumble that bad while using such strong set ups. Also O get the other sweaty stuff but a mori? Moris do nothing, a good sweat will use a map offering much like these survivors, a mori is just some cool animation.
Also idk how your reading comprenhension leads to me saying that what these people are using is cheats, when I have never said that. What I am saying is that if they can it win with this set up their only hope of winning may be using cheats, same goes for killer who cannot win with a fully stacked nurse/blight, at that point if you cannot win like that, play something else.
-
@C3Tooth said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3713019#Comment_3713019
Did OP report them for cheating?
No, maybe I communicated that wrong. What I was refering was, this people had stacked up builds, they chose the map they will play on, they are playing against an addonless, perkless wesker and they still didn't get a 4 man out, god forbid they are also swf, because if the are I have no words.
So in my opinion if you cannot win with all those odds against your rival and in your favour, you just cannot win mate. Hence why I said the only way they can win is via cheats.
-
Aint no way these people let you get 2 kills with those builds and choosing the map. There are people who legit NEED cheats to win because man that match has no excuse in not being a 4 man out lmao.
-
I think a fair chase time depends on the players, for example if a survivor who doesnt know how to loop gets downed in 10 seconds then it was a fair chase because the killer knew how to play and the survivor didn't. Same goes the other way, if a killer gets looped for 5 gens because they were not able to down the survivor then it is a fair chase time because the survivor was better than the killer. It should be fair that the best player gets rewarded while the worst one gets punished.
Now on thr topic of how much a chase needs to last for it to be viable for the killer, it is also variable, because killer can snowball. For example I can have a horrendous chase (+60 seconds) and still if I slug or the team messes up a lot I can still win.
However if we are talking about the 12 hook ideal that people have, with the killer purposely not punishing mistakes aka "playing fair", chases should be around 30 seconds in order for you to win.
-

I don't think there is a link there. Using exploits is scummy, end of story.
I'd expect most skilled players don't do it.
Competent player usually get a thrill from the effort and the display of skill.
Exploiters don't win : no cheater wins by definition as they are not playing the game under the same rule as the true players..
It would come as a surprise to you that comp survivor players are using this exploit a lot. And comp players are leagues above the skill of pub warriors, not because they are incredibly good but because pub players are incredibly bad at the game.
So yes skilled players are using this, I think its a similar case to what happens in speedrunning, which is the people more likely to cheat ironically are the ones that are incredibly good at the game.
-
She did an amazing work with her Voice acting giving life to personally my favourite killer. May she rest in peace.
-
You absolutelly can, just not in the way you are mentioning. Take this scenario, I have ds and plotwist, after I get unhooked I wont bodyblock but rather I will go around using EMPs, triggering hags traps, placing turrets, doing the box, disabling trappers setup, and guess what if the killer tries to stop me I plot twist and they can choose, either they pick me up eat DS and go on another chase or they let me be I plot twist and all that time slugged was worthless for them, both choices being a lose-lose for the killer, and if they ignore you they will say bye bye to their set up.

I said we would have less dc, not that it would stop entirely. I think that's impossible to get.
Every person is different and their context is different. That person that dc'ed because of an early down probably had a lot of matches before that went terribly aswell and yours was just the one that finally made them ragequit. There are 4 survivors in a match vs only 1 killer. Statisticaly it's obvious you will get a lot more survivor ragequitting.
Honestly, I'm not sure what they can do anymore to fix this. They can ban whatever they want, people will find a way to go around it
Issue is that logic works backwars tho, if a killer has a lot of awfull matches, they get sent to badham, the game or GoJ they they will lekely A:take a break or B: start tunneling, camping etc because well, that way their experience is not hindered. See the issue? You are asking one side to bend the knee while not acknowledging both sides are full of BS, a lot of survivors DC because simply they are not being handled a free win and a lot of killers tunnel and camp just because they can, justifying one as "they wanna ruin my game" and thr other as " They were just having a bad day, let them be" is incredibly biased.
If we are to hold killers accountable for using unfun strategies we also have to hold people who dc and ruin the match simply because they got outplayed accountable too.

Pretty much this. If the killer plays in a fair way, I bet we would have a lot less dc.
Pretty tired of having camping/tunnelers/sluggers or killers that play so well and so agressively that they can put everyone at 2 hooks and not even 2 gens done. Yes, this happens.
Like, I just want to feel there's a chance to win and to get a good amount of bloodpoints.
I play without slowdown and using brown addons as slinger/unknown, people still dc if you are not throwing the match or down them early. Survivors saying "if the killer plays fair we will not DC" is as honest as killers saying "If killers get buffed we will not tunnel" both of them are just plain lying.

I think a lot of that is to due with the fact that most people have accepted that if they go down, their game is likely over.
Could be wrong, but that's the attitude I've seen. Especially for early downs.
I really think Survivors need a mid-match or late-match comeback mechanic. I think that would help out a lot.
If that is as your words an attitute, why change it, I rember vividly you commented on killer players that just because they believe combos like fladhbang+bgp are uncounterable they fo not need a change because counterplay exists. Killers who get 1 hook and 2 gens done (which is mostly gg if the team isnt throwing) get told that thr match is not over.
However this speech does a full 180 when survivors perception of something comes into play, you can a 100% come back from an early down as survivor, and if you cant you should get told what killer players get told when they get a rough start: get better at the game.

I'd hate for DBD to head down that road.
Nah, as someone who plays overwatch I 100% support that change. The quality of my quickplay matches went up a considerable amount after that change.

Perhaps they should address WHY people are giving up, for once, instead of continuing to bandaid fix issues with paid content.
My survivors give up when I get first down too quick, or I down someone and see in front of me another person and go chase them for more pressure. They give up when I snipe them as slinger or unknown, not only that they also give up if I use a ward and they had a map offering. Mind you I am literally playing without slowdown, my current build is (coup, bbq, nurses, brutal).
So bhvr should adress this problematic perks?, or the ability of some killers to snipe? What about going down early, this needs a fix clearly as people give up consistently because of it.

I mean yeah they want to give you the most unpleasant match posible so its only fair. Shame now you cannot just target the one that was doing it, you have to target the whole team only to get to them, so 3 people pay for one, altho many times its a swf so it wont make a difference.

Los reportes por sluggear NO don validos y seran ignorados. Los desarrolladores ya han mencionado esto en el pasado (imagen). Si es un problema puedes utilizar plot twist o unbreakable pero NO es una accion reportable y tus reportes seran ignorados.

they already helped the team by bodyblocking.
That's not a good trade-off for spending who knows how long chasing the killer after getting unhooked, and then spending time slugged and either pulling another survivor off gen or blowing a second, single-use perk.
This ain't a good deal for survivors.
This stems because people think bodyblocking is good, which it isnt. What you should do is use ds and plot twist and after getting unhook go and undo the killers setup, use EMPs, trigger all the hags traps, trappers traps, place turrets, do the box etc… if the killer ignores you they lose all their power setup, if they try to avoid it happening you just plot twist and either you get fully healed or they get ds, no matter what the killer does you will win, thats how you should use ds.
-
Could be possible but I am not talking only about gameplay aspect, which is why I think you omitted the other part of the post, when has a survivor player ever avocated for chages that make the killer experience better? Literally have seen it like 3-4 times in all my time on the forums and dbd related social media. When lockers were bugged almost everyone was using it and justifying it, same with wake up and after boil over was buffed people felt a strong need to play on rpd for some musterious reason.
Now killers do this too, as when mercyless storm was bugged its pickrate went up, or when legion was bugged people also played them a lot.
However the debate is always "killer has to make sure everyone has fun", but a survivor has not that need whatsoever.
When we have had patches that change killer and make them more cluncky/worst to olay as, from the survivor side you will hear no voice claiming that maybe some qol changes are needed, but you will habe a lot of voices claiming "good riddance, maybe less people will play that annoying killer".
Sorry but I do not buy your narrative, I have never gotten any empathy from any survivor player, not even as their teamate, as all I get is flamed, deathreads or just mocking messages, you can a 100% be telling the truth, but its hard to convince someone that the dog doesnt bite when every dog they have met has mauled them.

Because the pattern of behavior indirectly hurts your own experience.
As Survivor tolerance for tunneling and camping goes down, so to does their willingness to be an active participant in your game.
You would do well to remember that online gaming is a social contract, and your behavior online only benefits you for as long as others are willing to tolerate it.
Your aversion to social responsibility follows you around like a scourge, and should you continue to disregard the influence you have on others, you should know that you are directly responsible for many good things coming to an end; whether you feel it or not.
This social contract only comes i to play for killers tho, in my time playing this game (2016-2024) I have never seen an ounce of empathy or regard for gameplay quality from a survivors towards killer. However I have seen multiple times the contrary being avocated to. When the stun save timing patch that broke saves happened, no survivor said that was problematic and it made killer horrible to play as, when a killer gets killswitched or has a game breaking bug that makes playing them bad I have NEVER seen survivor players avocate for their fixing, I have however seen them celebrating because they dont have to face said killer. Its kinda hard to respect this social contract when you are not getting any benefits of it while having all the drawbacks no?
-
You can literally loop him forever, I genuinly thought people stopped dying to this meme build like a year ago. In all seriousness avoid corners and if you got hit, you can just go to any loop, by the time he gets bloodlust to hit you again a lot of gen progress should be done. With like 3 or 4 chases done like that or better yet without the first hit, you should all be escaping.

Making occasional mistakes is inevitable for everyone and doesn't mean the survivors are terrible at the game. It's one thing to correctly observe that a m1 killer has a hard time getting the first down, it's another thing entirely to extrapolate about 80% of the player base being doodoo at the game when some players consistently still perform well
Depends, if 80% of the playerbase cannot loop an m1 killer for at the very least 1 gen then yes they are doo doo. Obviously there will be times you are distracted or listening to music or whatnot and commit a mistake and said m1 killer catches you quick, but if you are paying attention I believe there is no excuse for you not showing that person why they should have chosen another killer in the first chase.

why is it that whenever anyone does well as killer, no matter how consistently, someone pops up to say "ah well i guess that means that every single survivor player is categorically terrible at the game"
instead of recognizing that the player in question or maybe killers in general have more tools at their disposal than they initially thought
like I would think that occam's razor would dictate that the most sensible reason someone is able to consistently win as killer is because they are good at killer
Because on some killers thats the case, for example if you get curved by a blight/oni or flicked by a wesker that is the killers skill making them have the advantage you are correct in that assumption.
But if you lose to a trapper or get outplayed at a loop by a sadako thats 100% on the survivor making a mistake. Yes I overexagerated not only nurse and blight let killers show skill, many other killers do, but if you show me someone going down to an m1 killer and not wasting at least 1 minute of their time I will say that that survivors is new/not good at the game.

No lol I'm able to get a survivor down before the first gen pops when I play wraith, onryo, spirit, wesker, skull merchant, etc, and I see other killers do the same when I play survivor. So no, the very worst is 0 gens.
So you are not playing nurse nor blight, that leaves the other suggestion open, survivors are throwing or merely really bad at the game. First down and no gens means someone messed up horribly, as the map still has all resources and strong loops are avaliable.

I think you have problem in reading maybe before accusing "skill issue" and actually try to have conversation and read what I wrote. I don't even use background player but my friends does so we can easily coordinate saves. SoloQ teammates always die in corner where killer can look wall there is no coordination so the perk effect is much smaller. Even you save them they go back down in less than 10s.
My point is that a lot of people think soloQ is bad because they lack info and its just not true, soloQ is bad because soloQ players are bad. You can have all of the info in the world, if you heal against legion, do not use emps correctly, go down in 10 seconds your team will lose no matter how much info you have.
Regarding that issue you mentioned last, going down in 10 seconds after getting saved is not a soloQ issue thats literally the definition of a skill issue. Now you are correct soloq teamates will go down in the weirdest of places and the killer might be facing a wall, however...flashbang.

Yeah I'm gonna hard disagree on Xeno being weaker than Huntress. The only thing he doesn't have over her is cross-map hit potential, and even then that won't happen often with anyone paying attention.
Chucky can completely negate any gameplay the survivor does with scamper, while also being strong due to his size (and thus hard to react to). There's a reason he's A+. OVERALL he isn't OP but his design reeks of powercreep, where what's being crept are pallets vs. killer interactions.
Unknown is worse huntress? Lolwut. The killer is 115%, can hit multiple survivors at once and has the fastest teleport in the game.
You're overrating Huntress hard when she's arguably the weakest ranged killer in the game right now. At least when you've facing survivors of your skill level. Luckily, it doesn't seem to be the case for most of us.
OP has a point though, new killers are definitely strong and not intuitive to counter at all. That said, I wouldn't say they're overpowered.
If the unknown ever hits two survivors at the same time they had to be either bots or intentionally be throwing the game. While I agree huntress is extremely overrated by dbds playerbase, unknown is also very overated, the only aspect that people do undertand is strong with him its his tp. But his proyectile is not as good as people paint it to be. You have to hit a survivor 2 time for it to deal dmg and getting rid of it is incredibly easy if you are somewhat decent at survivor.
The issue with unknown is the same as legion, healing against legion most of the times is just a timeloss, and even if you remain injured they are an m1 killer so you are at no risk whatsoever, however people heal all the time agai t legion and then get surprised they 4kd. Removing weakened is so easy it is a given against good players the unknown has only one opportunity to shoot after weakening survivors before they cure themselves. Somehow people still manage to let you shoot like 3 times, like are these people not AI? I genuinly am curious what are this people doing in chases? Like looking behind is a BASIC thing to do, what on earth are they doing?

Hook the other survivor and then eat the ds, then tunnel that survivor as you know they dont have ds anymore. Not really a counter as you have to eat the ds but you will be more effective compared to letring them get plot twist.

Being a hex does impact Ruin's consistency but on average, it still delivers good value. Here's an analysis Otz did with 200% ruin. Note other perks had their effects changed too.

Despite losing half of its efficacy, Ruin still sees play in competitive DBD and buffing numbers is the wrong way to go here. A different activation requirement would probably be better, as we have seen with the new hexes.
If we balance things taking into account comp dbd, a lot of changes that you might heavily disagree (hell I do so too) should be done, because comp while it shows how the most skillfull players perform isnt a reflaction of the game. Example: ghostface should always play indoor maps, survivors cannot have duplicates of each perk, etc…
