  • I've stopped caring about it. Pretty much don't play nowadays. Matchmaking is terrible, killers only camp or tunnel and games are so opressive and unbalanced that I can't play more than 3 or 4 matches without going to another game.

Maybe someday they'll finally do something about solo q and I will come back to play regularly. Until then, good luck to everyone else that bothers playing solo only.

  • Answer is obvious no? Because lobby dodging would increase massively...

I would be fine with the game showing who's in a sfw AFTER the game ended. Bet it would humble a lot of killers quickly lol

  • Been playing less and less. This week I've been having fun with Stellar Blade, it's pretty good.

Played like 7 or 8 matches today with the new chapter, got killer adept on the first game. Survivor took me like 6 or 7 games, his perks are crap and killers are tunneling like always. Got pretty boring quickly. Went back to Stellar blade haha

  • Don't worry, I'm on the other spectrum. Just had 2 matches in a row where we we didn't even do 1 gen. Killer was so agressive and opressive that we had no chance

  • Of course people love this. Sure, killers still tunnel, camp and slug for that sweet 4k but at least we don't have to deal with 4 slowdown perks so much

  • I personally think prestige should be hidden and while in the lobby survivors should not see other survivors and killer shouldn't see survivors either.

It's true that the time lost between a survivor giving up in-game and a killer lobby dodging is vastly different but the outcome, or perhaps better the cause, is the same: survivors mostly give up when the situation feels already out of control or is being too hard and the killer dodges the lobby because he thinks it will be too hard to win.

The reason for giving up/lobby dodging is exatly the same for both sides...

I play without slowdown and using brown addons as slinger/unknown, people still dc if you are not throwing the match or down them early. Survivors saying "if the killer plays fair we will not DC" is as honest as killers saying "If killers get buffed we will not tunnel" both of them are just plain lying.

I said we would have less dc, not that it would stop entirely. I think that's impossible to get.

Every person is different and their context is different. That person that dc'ed because of an early down probably had a lot of matches before that went terribly aswell and yours was just the one that finally made them ragequit. There are 4 survivors in a match vs only 1 killer. Statisticaly it's obvious you will get a lot more survivor ragequitting.

Honestly, I'm not sure what they can do anymore to fix this. They can ban whatever they want, people will find a way to go around it

Maybe killers (including Otz) need to recognize that if 9/10 survivors are leaving your match. It is not the survivors that are the problem. I play killer and I almost NEVER have someone DC and suiciding on hook is rare. But I also NEVER run back to the hook, do not slug at the beginning of matches, I don't camp or tunnel. And you know what, people stay and play with me.

I win some and I lose some but it's always fair. And you know what that is all survivors are looking for. DbD devs (and killer mains) seem to be under the impression that if a 4k doesn't happen every match something is wrong and needs fixed. Which is why maps are all half the size and killers all have 14 built-in abilities before you even strap on perks. Survivors are tired of playing this way.

Pretty much this. If the killer plays in a fair way, I bet we would have a lot less dc.

Pretty tired of having camping/tunnelers/sluggers or killers that play so well and so agressively that they can put everyone at 2 hooks and not even 2 gens done. Yes, this happens.

Like, I just want to feel there's a chance to win and to get a good amount of bloodpoints.

  • Used to play everyday for the past 2 or 3 years. Nowadays if I play 2 days a week it's already a lot. I only play solo and the experience is unbearable to say the least

  • I sincerely doubt you play both sides equally and fail to see how tunneling affects the game so negatively, specially when it's done at the beggining of the game.

Yes, it may lead SOME players to get a bit better but most of them will just move to another game. You know why? Because it's not fun and this is a game, you know, to have a fun. It's not a job, it's not a sport, it's not a tournament. It's a damn game and you are supposed to have fun. And I sure as hell am not having fun when my entire solo team gets less than 10k points every match because the killer decides to tunnel someone from the beggining and then it's either just do only gens the entire match or snowball into an early 4k.

Sorry but no, it's not good for the game.

  • Just use lightborn if it bothers you so much?

"Oh but I shouldn't be forced to use a perk just to be able to get hooks and do my objective. Besides, sometimes I don't even get any value from it, waste of perk slot"...

Funny, then survivors shouldn't also be forced to use perks to be able to do objectives/get more points/enjoy the game. Perks like deliverance, decisive strike, unbreakable and god knows how many more that you get no value sometimes just because survivor is afraid of killer camping or slugging.

And yet, it's what people always say: Oh, you are being tunneled? Use decisive strike. Oh, getting slugged? Just use unbreakable, easy.

At the end of the day, you just have to use the perk meant for that situation. Didn't get any value? Too bad, maybe next time you will.

  • I doubt he was banned specifically for that... I would have a much easier time believing he was banned for what was said in the chat after the game ended.

This achievment is a pain in the ass yeah but if I was playing killer I would have just grabbed the survivor and hook him. No point in wasting my time

  • Sables perks are mediocre at best and i'm ignoring invocations which feels more like a killer perk than a survivor perk. Graphic design and sound design is fine, they always get that right. Power/perk design is crap, as usual.

Still no solution for rampant tunneling so matches have just been constant tunneling so far, 5 out 5 games with it.

  • I would go even further and make ds stun 10s with a 60s or even more until it deactivates. Would end pretty quickly the current tunneling meta that just makes all solo q matches unsuferable

  • Can we also make tunneling and slugging bannable?

  • Sorry that you can't get a 4k 100% of the games now and, in order to do that now, you have to slug, facecamp and tunnel every game. Sucks that you have to ruin 4 people's experience just to get those sweet sweet kills...

Anyway... the sooner people like you leave the game and they add bot killers the better. Not even going to suggest fighting tunneling since clearly they don't give a damn about that.

  • So far I haven't bought it. Uninteresting perks and the character itself doesn't interest me either

  • I wish they would add bot killers in real matches. So tired of playing against sweat lords or being matched with bad team mates.

Game is pretty much unbearable as a solo player

  • Killers complaining about swf's that make the game too hard for them... and then proceed to go stomp solo q players and pretty much force them to play in swf's only. Lol

  • Are you using/being affected by any perks that increase gen repair?? That can explain it

  • For me:

The huntress one to hit far away (console player here) by far, myers 4 mori kill and probably the one where we have to crawl for the hatch (more of a nuisance, not being hard)

  • No to the auto mori. It would just incentivate killers to do it and also there are a few ways for survivors to get up/escape in these situations, like specific perks or hatch.

Either add base kit unbreakable (abusable by swfs), a forefeit button (but personal choice, not team based choice, otherwise it would probably not work) or the ability to increase the bleed out rate, which is the option I like the most

I'm not debating that tunneling wouldn't be better of removed. All im point out are flaws in yours and other people's common suggestions. You can't just outright remove such a core part of the game.

Regarding mentality you can't really tell people how to play the game.It would be like telling survivors to stop worring about gens or escaping and instead count how many unhooks they had or celebrate having a chase take longer than a minute. You can't tell other people how to play, what a satisfying game is for them or trying to make up a new win condition.

And I agree with that! Like I said, it's not an easy problem to solve.

Unless they rework the game completely, it's not a problem that is going away. Which is a shame honestly. I really think this will only hurt the game in the long run. Killers tunnel to get easy games, survivors, specially soloq, get tired of playing. Killer's mmr increases due to inflated kills, starts getting coordinated sfw's that somewhat know how to counter this and begins to get tired of the game aswell.

It's a spiral of disdain and hate =/

Why would hooks mean anything. If i get an 8 hook game followed by a bag at the exit and an easy baby killer in all chat i don't feel accomplished. If i had pooled my efforts and had a better target priority that game could have ended in a 4k and even more hooks.

No one is really playing for hooks. There is no incentive to.Its a poor game plan, you are not winning your 1 v 1 against another player, and you are failing at the role of killer(you are supposed to be killing people i'm pretty sure). It feels bad to get 0-1 kills in a game regardless of how hooks you secured.

To me, that's just another problem of the playerbase.

We are so focused on playing the most efficient way that we actually stop having fun with what is supposed to be a game. We get so irked with such stupid stuff like teabagging.

I'm not saying the job of a killer isn't to kill, of course it is. The problem comes when people tunnel someone out of the game, ruining the fun for that person and most likely the others.

I know it's not fun for some killers to not get kills. Personally, I only get mad when I get very few hooks and no kills. If I get a lot of hooks and maybe 1 kill, to me it really was an ok game, specially if against a sfw.

But I understand that this mentality isn't for everyone, that's why I said it's not an easy problem to solve.

  • As long as killers have the mentality that only kills count as a victory, this will never change.

Only with extreme measures like giving invincibility to unhooked survivors (which would be abused by swf's so it would never happen) would tunneling disappear.

You can say all you want and give other options like not giving bp for tunneling but that wouldn't stop it. It might stop a few but it won't stop everyone.

Others say to decrease gen speed. That would make soloq even more unbearable than what already is.

Honestly, it's not an easy problem to solve

  • Just had a game against a wesker. 1 person gave up on 1st hook for some reason. Game went downhill from there. Me and another one were slugged while he got the 3rd. The 3rd was killed, he found the other one eventually. I crawled for hatch and killer closes it in front of me, proceeds to pick me up and NOT hook me while just going around the map just using Mad Grit (I wasn't struggling). I eventually begin struggling because he brought me to gate so I thought he was going to let me out. Nope, just hits me again and picks me up to repeat. That was when i Dced

  • Removing the ability to self unhook completely would invalidate some perks and offerings. So they would have to change that aswell which I dont really see happening xD

Also, does slugging the person that tried to get off the match really do anything? The person no longer wants to play that match, he will just tab out and do something else. At that point you are just stroking your ego but go for it

  • @Jejune said:

for every DS perk in the match DS gets a token (4 people brings it in every DS in the match has 4 tokens, etc.)

Every time DS gets used all DS's in the match lose a token.

Still pretty much useless, but now killer will have to think if they want to tunnel the person again.

Alternatively give it 10s enduring/haste (like when you get unhooked) on top of 3s stun duration.

Maybe i'm not understanding but whats the point of making the first change?? DS already has only 1 use so what's the point of the change? The others still get 1 use with that system...

  • You are playing blight and playing sweaty on top of it... what did you expect? Especially if you play against solo queue. I know I would probably do the same if I faced you. It's just not worth the frustration

  • Agreed, it's too long

  • Diversion for me. It rarely works bur when it does and I see the killer check the locker I always have a laugh

  • Happening to me too. PS5. Both killer and survivor. Cross play on. Turned cross play off just to experiment and the error message pops up too.

  • I'm kind of torn on this one. I hate that there isnt a penalty anymore because it ruins the game for every1. But, when there was a penalty, ppl would most of the time just kill themselves on hook or go afk and be just as useless. So I kinda prefer no penalties.

  • I wouldnt say every. I've been playing just fine on my ps5. Lots of ppl playing on last gen have no problems either. Honestly, it's time to move to the next gen
