  • i watched the first 2 minutes. That Adam does what every survivor does who doesn't know how to play against Spirit: he runs in a straight line with an obvious path to a structure. Those are easy downs for every Spirit. Second hit on Cheryl: well, Rancor. She obviously didn't move so it was easy to figure out she is hiding there. Third hit against Meg: He's saying "she's too easy" after downing her without even using Spirits power against her. I ended the stream after this. Those survivors were obvious noobs and he was biased from the start. He wasn't even using the sounds to pinpoint people, it was just very obvious were they were. I'm usually rank 1 after some days past rank reset at EU servers. Come and play against some of those guys. I still lose matches or 2k with her even tho i have maybe 300-400h alone with her (she's not my main anymore tho).

    • 90% of Spirits are Bots. They can be easily outplayed by faking a run to a pallet, stop and walk away. Or drop the pallet on the "wrong" side. Slow vault or fast vault in a direction she doesn't anticipated. I escape fairly often against the usual Spirits
    • Nurse is much stronger. I've never seen a (non-cheating) slugging Spirit with Infectious killing everyone in the first 2 minutes. A good Nurse is horrible to play against and much more unfun to me, even though i would say i'm fairly okay in juking and mindgaming the mediocre Nurses
    • There are some "guaranteed" downs for Spirit if she doesn't mess up but even then you can try to juke her/ mindgame her (double back, change direction, fake your scratchmarks and walk away, be creative!) to gain distance. I don't think that's unfair at all. If a Bubba caughts me in a deadzone, i'm dead, end of story. Mindgaming is part of every killer gameplay btw. Saying it's not counterplay is just wrong, because if you mindgame my M1 Wraith at a L-T wall then you just countered me. If i would have caught you with Wraith in a deadzone it would be a free hit, how is that more fair?
    • Remember it's about wasting the killers time and Spirit is a very slow killer after using her power. She can either use it in chases OR for map traversal. Survivors always complain about not having this absolute shutdown hard-counter, but you're not supposed to deny a killers power completely. You're not supposed to run someone for 5 gens. You're supposed to go down eventually, because there are 12 possible hook states.

If u can't hook a survivor in the first 50/90seconds of the game then ruin has no value. It's not effective at all if u r using trapper, wraith, clown, etc m1 killers. I prefer the gen lock perk on weak killers, grants @ least 80 seconds advantage because all 4 survivors have to waste like 20 seconds or more to find another gen rather than do gens as soon as he can move

I use it with Wraith and it can be very effective if you play hit and run because of his mobility with Windstorm. But i always bring Pop as a backup.

Pretty much every Killer can defend a 3gen if you manage to get all the pallets in that zone out. Obviusly Trapper, Hag and Doctor are very strong at that, stealth Killers can also defend them easily for they usually get a free first hit or at least a very fast first hit but overall almost every Killer has an easy time during a 3gen.

3gen is very map dependant, there are some maps with several very strong 3gen openings, Azarovs, Suffocation and Sanctum of Wrath are the most obvious examples, others are Coal Tower (main gen and 2 gens at each side of main building), Family Residence (main gen and 2 gens at each side and maybe another one at the northern L shaped corner of the map), Grave of Glendale (saloon, center gen, gallows gen or gen at corner, center gen and saloon), Ormond usually has several 3gen openings, Pale Rose (boat, shack, corner on edge of map or pier gen, and gens both north and south of pier+shack), Grim Pantry (pier with 2 gens, shack and gen outside of shack or 1 on pier, 2 outside of shack 1 near the pier), certain variations of Rancid Abatoir and Torment Creek and there are some more easily 3geneable maps but not as obvious or prevalent as those.

On the other hand Mother's Dwelling, Temple of Purgation, Rotten Fields, Fractured Cowshed, Gas Heaven, Blood Lodge and Shelter Woods (this one doesnt matter for its heavily Killer sided) are either impossible or extremely rare to have a decent 3gen opening, maybe you can manage to get a long lane of gens or 2 very close but isolated gens and thats it.

Special Mention: Haddonfield can be "3geneable" if you play a stealth Killer and enough inside gens spawn and for they are relatively close and Survivors cant see you coming so you get very easy first hits or downs, if not stealth they will ran away or just use the houses windows.

A good 3 gen means the ways between gens are short and easily accessible, not only the distance when looking from above. There should also be no strong loops left. For example the saloon gen or the Pale Rose boat gen (or Thompson House) are very hard to defend because survivors can spot you easily and will have a head start. Especially the saloon gen is a free gen that i don't even try to defend because the path is way too long to get into chases fast and efficiently. Survivors have also strong loops at these tiles and as is said it's hard to approach them. Better try to defend gens that are in the open in deadzones.

Any killer can force a 3 gen from the start. You don't see it often because it's a very boring way to play. You need an efficient SWF to counter a good killer 3 genning.

The best example I can give you is Dead Dawg Saloon. If you pick the hanged man gen and the other two that spawn next to it it's the strongest 3 gen in the game. There are only 2~3 very unsafe pallets near those and if you let the killer get a single hook there it's gg.

It's a weak strategy against good survivors. I've never seen a good killer doing this, but tried it myself a few times. It works sometimes against weak survivors that don't play coordinated and go down easily. But you need to get some hook states or you need a hook to camp in between gens that are VERY close. Usually the 1 and 3 gen are far enough from each other to work on them and just run away to the next windows when the killer approaches. Generally, defending a 3 gen is a game of patience. You can just run in between gens, injure everyone and hope they do mistakes so you get a down but if they don't they will eventually finish one gen. Committing to a chase can be a huge risk if they work together. Surely you will get your downs in late game this way and maybe even a kill or two, but i don't think you can win this way regularly

  • He is not weak but if you played other killers for a while, most of his abilities just seem a bit lackluster. "Okay" is the best word describing him. Just like Freddy he has many of them but compared to him they're all mediocre.

I don't really get why they made him so loud. He wasn't a loud ass monster in the netflix series, he was kinda stealthy. He could also detect blood in different dimensions, a wasted opportunity for a tracking abbility. His footstomps are so annoying that i can't play him for multiple matches in a row. I think his screams when teleporting are ok, should be 48m only or something like that, but you don't know where he is going so i think that's not the biggest issue. But his footstomps and noises when hitting or getting stunned are unnecessary, they give survivors too much information. Oni has the same issue but his power is much stronger.

  • I'm so happy about the Wraith changes, can't wait to try it out (i don't play PTBs). I will also get the chapter because of the perks, need some new ones to spice things up (only to go back to the same old meta after a losing streak). Hope there will be no gamebreaking bugs tho'.

  • I barely have problems against her, maybe i haven't seen those really good plague players yet (some people say she has great potential and is one of the best killers) but she is also one of the least picked killers in red ranks and she has one of the lowest kill rates. You can heavily snowball with her but that definitely takes some skill and timing. Also ranged puke shots take some skill in prediction.

In my experience plagues often get "genrushed" because no one wastes time healing but does gens all the time. If survivors don't cleanse, they're still one hittable, but snowballing from that is hard due to her being low mobility and loopable.

  • The fact that he has a significantly higher kill rate than the average should be enough information to at least look into him. You can't explain a nearly 10% higher kill rate just with randomness (like hook suicides and DC's).

Imho he would be fine if they would delete one of his power aspects. You can't have an easy-to-play killer with mobility, chase power, stealth and slowdown/ stalling. It's too much. I can't remember the last time i escaped against him in solo q and really everyone i know hates him. He carries a lot of mediocre players right now that just want easy 4k's every game. I don't even know how you can have fun with this killer, he is boring and his power is characterless.

Right now he is a jack of all trades. Give him more personality (make him a stealth killer or make him a chase killer or...). For example, if you would delete his teleport, he would still be able to end chases a bit faster, have a bit of stealth and a bit of stalling through falling asleep, but he had better counterplay especially on bigger maps. Or delete his snares/ chase power so he would still be loopable like many other M1 killers, but he still has his stalling and mobility and stealth.

    • any form of ingame BM is a way to intimidate and distract you, don't let it happen
    • try to stay focused, BMing survs are often cocky and careless, use that to your advantage. If they're actually good at looping, don't get mad and just save them for the end
    • playing killer is a lot about game sense and time management. Sometimes you have to leave a survivor after a good mindgame from him or after he dropped 2 pallets and vaulted, this means you have maybe lost that chase BUT not the game
    • bodyblocking gives you free hits and nearly never works as intended. Only in the rare circumstances where you dropped a survivor before and then picked him up again. Or when someone sabotages a hook and you have to go far for the next hook
    • "tunneling" for me is when you mindlessly chase the same survivor after an unhook even if it isn't the best idea. But sometimes it is the best idea, then it's legit for me. If there is only 1 gen left and you don't have a kill yet, you need a kill if you want to win the game. Sometimes you also have to camp that survivor who has 15 seconds left till hitting stage 2 or till getting sacrificed. Depends on your will to win, if you don't care and just want to have a good time, play nice
    • Just slug people that have been unhooked lately. It pressures survivors off gens. If they jump on a gen after unhook - slug. DS is an anti-tunnel perk and works in this regard as it hinders you from tunnel someone out of the game. But it can also be abused (free escape in endgame for example). There is nothing you can do about this.

Preach it feels the higher MMR you get the more you're punished if this releases im becoming a Survivor main to be honest its way more enjoyable at high MMR with a good team.

Also its bad when Killers like Hexy of all people are struggling this game isn't MMR ready nor should it ever be tbh LMAO. Knowing Behavior though this will be pushed live they don't listen to feedback nor take it seriously imma laugh when the Killer playerbase starts to dwindle lmao.

    @DragonMasterDarren said:

i've noticed this as well, first 2 games I played I curb stomped the survivor with trapper and wraith but as soon as i switch to Demo 2 gens pop before i even get a hook because the survivors are simply better then me (that and maps, i really hate Torment Creek and Azarovs)

if this is what i have to deal with every time i decide to play some of my favourite killers then count me the hell out

Well i think that should be the goal of a MMR, giving good players who win the majority of their matches an equal opponent to balance out the win/lose ratio. I had a win streak of about 20 matches before the MMR started. I understand where you're coming from, i also don't want to sweat every single match and have to be fully concentrated, i don't want easy wins but i don't see Dbd as a comp game. The question for me is, does such a system make sense in a "party game" with so much RNG.

  • It's ok, every game was super sweaty as killer but not in a way that i couldn't have won, every match was very close. The reason i won most of these games was that there was at least 1 baby survivor in it who couldn't loop. The difference i've seen was that gens were flying even faster but it was balanced out by the fact that they weren't as good in chases.

In the matches i've lost it was very obvious how powerful just dropping (or pre-dropping) every pallet is without even trying to save some of 'em or gain some additional time out of it. If the other 3 sit on gens it's a very powerful strategy on most maps with enough pallets.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/235163/the-mindless-killer-build-bbq-pop

I was hoping this was a bait or joke post but it isn't

Literally nobody uses BBQ for the aura, people use it for the BP that you are given from it

Pop is used because gen regression from a normal kick is so useless that sometimes you shouldn't even kick the gen

If its such an issue you can literally use distortion

Funnily i use it mostly for the information, i tried different tracking perks and found BBQ to be the most reliable:

    • nearly no one counters it, if they sit behind a gen you can see a glimpse of the aura, depending on the angle
    • that means if you can't see their auras, they're probably near you
    • it's a great snowball tool and it helps finding the last survivor who is going for hatch (prevents slugging for the 4k)
    • Discordance is also great but BBQ showing me also people going for unhooks, looting the basement chest, doing totems etc., it's not perfect but combined with the BP bonus i think it's the best tracking perk
  • BBQ and Pop is great and balanced, because it rewards for good gameplay.

Pop is often mediocre in the first half of the game, if you don't find a gen with some progress, especially since it's 45 sec nerf. I often had situations where i couldn't kick a gen in time because some survivor gave me an easy hit. Especially if you just injure everyone and can't get the down because everyone plays really save, Pop (and BBQ) will let you down, Ruin is much better in those situations.

    And BBQ is easily countered.

You often have to forego Pop because the only gen with progress is on the other side of the map while all the other survivors except one are on your side. Often times pressuring survivors is more important than popping a gen.

Both are very good perks but they're not oppressive. Ruin+Undying was oppressive.

  • I see this very often (like at least 1 times every session). It's ridiculous this hasn't been nerfed yet. Like how can people even say it has a counter or it's fair, it's an easy win for the killer, nothing else. If i play with a team i try my best (mostly in vain) but whenever i play solo i just try to die early because my time is too valuable for me to go through this. Maybe if everyone would think and play like this, the Huntresses' would lose motivation to use this add on - i used pink moris sometimes before the nerf whenever i had multiple bad games in a row. It never felt satisfying because most people just refused to play the game and surrendered to their fate.

  • Many people say he is one of the most fun killers to play but everytime i wanna play him i remember all that times i got bullied or genrushed playing him and switch back to my mains LOL.

No seriously, if you invest some time in his 2 powers (shred and portals), he can be quite good. His shred is more of a zoning tool, actually hitting good survivors with it is quite hard cause you have to time and aim it well. His portals are cool on bigger maps, making you not so much dependent on having a good 3 gen and you can use them to defend totems but i often felt like they are no real game changer comparing to other mobility powers.

  • Wraith main here. It's only really oppressive when it's done by a team. Like if you chase someone and uncloak and someone else is following you with a flashlight and burning you from behind. Or if there are like 3 survivors trying to do it simultaneously. But those teams are very rare.

If it's only 1 guy trying to burn you, you can try to juke or 360 him while cloaked, don't just run straight lines or stand there. Survivors can't turn or move fast when they shine their flashlight. They usually will have problems following you. This way they will also burn up their flashlight very fast.

I had some problems with it back then when i was worse especially against bully squads, but now i play a bit more stealthy with Wraith, move and uncloak behind objects and so on. Back then i was just running straight towards them in open areas and hoping they don't see me.

  • The old Undying Ruin was brutal, even with Detective's Hunch (which i was running from the start of that meta) it was sometimes impossible if the killer had luck and you cleansed ruin everytime, cleansing 3-5 totems while the killer is after you or was hooking one survivor after another is really hard. When you finally got both, the killer often had a big headstart in terms of pressure, no gen was done and he had already 2 people on death hook or something like that. Depends on the killer of course, but if he knew how to play with Ruin (pressuring everyone, no long chases) it was really oppressive.

Don't know about Haunted Grounds, haven't seen it that often in combination

  • He's right about survivors who play very safe and run immediately after noticing you. It's the most efficient playstyle, nothing is more frustrating and time consuming for a killer than not getting into chases because everyone plays extremely safe. Gens will maybe take a bit longer if they run away early but the killer doesn't get progress on his objectives either, so...

The other side, nearly no one is holding W like that, most will stay at the loop or run to the next one and this gives the killer the opportunity to outplay them. Killers biggest advantage is still the lack of knowledge and uncoordinated playstyle of most survivor teams.

  • When i disabled crossplay for a while, i've seen a hacking spirit twice in a row. I had the suspicion the first time because she was just too good and knew exactly where everyone was. I main her for a while so i know what's possible and what not. A lot of comments on her profile also said "-rep wallhack cheater" lol. In aftergame chat she spammed "ez noobs" or something like that. Second time i could actually prove it by hiding in a corner right from the start. She phased straight to me and hit me directly out of phase without having to look. She doesn't had any tracking perk so she was obviously cheating.

Generally when i was playing with crossplay off i've seen some survivors many times during a day, sometimes like 3 times in 2 hours. With crossplay on, there is only one guy that i've seen multiple times (more than 2 times) during the last 12 months, like 5 times or so. He was also in one of Otz's youtube videos so i guess he's playing Dbd all day long.

  • I love it cause i have the opportunity to watch my perfomance from another angle afterwards. I also go into uber-perfomance mode when people watch me, although this can mean that i'm tense and nervous during the game. I also find their opinion and comments on my playstyle interesting. Last week i played against one guy who said that i was a very good Wraith. After i watched the game i stayed at his stream and we had a little chat about Dbd. Also i once played against a russian streamer with over 6000 hours and his friends at Saloon, was an easy 4k although i feared to get obliterated.

But i also had bad experiences, some ukrainian streamer with around 500 viewers made me DC at Ormond (not exactly him but his friends), the chat freaked out about it and made fun of me. It was the time with disabled DC penalty so i took this route instead of going to basement or a corner, i just didn't want to drag this match out needlessly. They were all very good and after they finished the 4th gen they just came to me and tried to bully me :(

  • Never ever just camp 3 gens from the start, even as low mobility or trap based killer. It doesn't work like that.

Make yourself an overview over the map at the start. Try to figure out which gens are worthy to protect and which not. If there are some outliers at the edge or in pockets, you can ignore them as low mobility killer. Try to protect the middle gens (they're usually part of a good 3 gen at the end) and, if you're on a map like Azarovs, Suffocation Pit or Sanctum, try to protect one side of the map (on those maps, gens are usually split up like 3 and 4 on each side or 3-1-3 with one in the middle that you should also protect).

If you just camp 3 gens from the start you will have 4 healthy, non-hooked survivors that come to you at the end and just rush that one gen left while you chase a survivor. It's unlikely to win this, except they really ######### up. You need to pressure them early on, that doesn't mean you should give up patroulling important gens or chase mindlessly and waste time at strong loops. It's kinda hard to explain because there is no save rule for how to play this. You need to decide things on the fly in dbd as killer and this is only possible with experience.

Try to lure them to your side or chase them into your side, try to injure them or get a pallet out of the way and then leave if you think they work on a gen on "your" side. Which perks do you play? Because your perks play also an important part.

Losing 3 gens without even chasing someone is nearly impossible if you go from gen to gen. That doesn't mean it's impossible to lose 3 gens without hooking someone. Been there, done that. It happens against good teams who split up, or if you chase for too long at the start. Sometimes it's also just some good toolboxes or Prove thyself. If they did those 3 gens on one side or like next to each other, that can be actually good for you. Never give up, i won games where i was completely sure i already lost. And as others already said, try not to focus on how many survivors you killed at the end. Dbd is a very random game with a lot of different "random" factors leading to the outcome of a match.

I had a nice fun break earlier. I ran into a SWF that invited me into the gas station on Autohaven, and pretended to be shop keepers and they had me shop at their store haha.

I dunno what the exchange rate is on Demo Dollars though.

    https://i.imgur.com/oaqVObr.png

This is so wholesome. Would love to have survivors like this.

  • i love it because you can try no-meta stuff for some days and try killers that i don't often play

  • People tend to forget that there are real human beings behind the aliases and the monitors, but that's just a common thing on the internet unfortunately. Wasting everyones time like this is nonsense, you already won. This goes also for survivor teams who wait at the exit gates or bully the killer.

Especially when the survivors heal up while you're searching the 4th and then it starts again till you finally found everyone, i don't get it. Sometimes this part is longer than the actual match.

There is also no comparison between slugging for the 4k and saving the teammate. As i said, it's an human being and you want to save your mates, it has nothing to do with harming the killer. While slugging for the 4k is only for your ego.

It feels more like "i don't want the other side to have something good under any circumstances" than "i want to win" because you already won.

I only slug for the 4k when the team was very toxic. In the past i did it when i wasn't sure that i will pip, but i don't really care about that anymore so much. I play with BBQ so often times i see the 4th surv after hooking and just kill them anyway before they reach hatch.

I often even give hatch when it's clear it was a solo team and they didn't really had a chance from the beginning because the teammates were bad and DC'd or suicided.

I'm not sure what's going on, but recently whenever I play as Killer most of the time im getting really sweaty, unfun matches and it really sucks. Now, im no stranger to sweaty matches as I have ~1500 hours in the game but its still painfully unfun. Even if I win these matches I don't get any satisfaction or fun from it. And because I've been getting such sweaty matches I have to bring meta perks and killers I'm good with, otherwise I'll just lose.

Survivor isn't much fun either, I've been getting even worse teammates than before.

Is anybody else getting much more sweatier games or am I just getting extremely unlucky?

I wanted to make a thread but then i saw yours. Last Weekend and begin of the week i had like green rank survivors all the time (i'm rank 1-3), then it became a bit better and then suddenly i had the sweatiest sweat teams of all times for the last 2-3 days. My last 3 games tonight were against at least 3 rank 1's in every team. It's horrible and if this is my MMR skill rating i will leave killer surely. I mean, i don't care if i lose some especially with Wraith but this kind of humiliation is just not fun. You need some "chill" matches in between. I had a match against a 4 man swf (could tell from their nationality and names) who did 4 gens when i had my first down - i didn't even chased someone very long, they just splitted up perfectly and my tactic of hit&run didn't do nothing because they were on gens all the time.

Survivor was ok tho, not too hard not too easy, had some good games.

  • While he has some very weak add ons, compared to other killer he has much more usable and strong ones. Now that you're faster you can also use his more niche QOL add ons like Shadow Dance or Blink or the brown one with the brighter blood.

Compared to other killers that i sometimes play like Ghosty or Demo, who have like 3-4 usable add ons at all, his add ons are very good.

  • maybe the killer is fun to play or you just like the character. I keep on playing Wraith although he is one of the more weaker killers right now.

  • I love this map as killer, except for the saloon (till you break the wall) and sometimes the two-story houses there are no really strong loops, of course you have to break some pallets here and there but that's normal dbd gameplay. If there is RNG like this, force the drop and get rid of the pallet, it won't cost you the game. I win most of my games here.

  • Yes i know that Pop and Surge don't synergize this way but after i saw Otz is using this combo, i tried it and it's good so far. Often survivors will just tap the "surged" gen or are working on it or you can pop a gen elsewhere (works good with BBQ). One of those 3 situations is nearly always the case. Before i was using Sloppy as my second stalling perk besides PGTW.

And today i've finally unlocked Oppression because i thought it may be even better. Maybe i just had bad luck, survivors were really good and maps were unlucky.

They both should have that ridiculous cool down removed. Surge more so than Opp. I don’t even know why Surge has a cool down.

Yeah maybe i just leave Sloppy for stalling in there (my go-to 4th perk if i don't know something else), i hate cooldowns too

Hardware issues most of the time.

When i used to play on my potato pc that ran this game at 20 fps max i got spun constantly. It really isn't the killers fault most of the time

I second that. Game looks ######### now on my Laptop but at least i have constant framerate. Before i had 20-35 fps and got spun easily if done correctly by the survivor. I really had to pay close attention every time i swung. I played the game on a friend's high end PC at 80 fps and it was a whole other world.

  • This opens up some new playstyles for me because you don't have to equip Windstorm every game to have a chance in red ranks. Would love to play his Ghost add on more for surprise attacks.

  • I personally think the theme and the killer is interesting and a great addition, as long as not every chapter now is this "funny" or "ironic"-themed (those are at least the vibes i'm getting from it). I'm totally fine with it and i think the new power and all perks are interesting. Not every killer has to be an ugly monster with deformations and gore all over it.

At least this killer is going to be played by all the weebs in my region, which i can't say about the Twins or Blight (which i see both in maybe 1/50 matches).

  • I was in a game with 2 hackers lately, they could hook and unhook themselves anywhere, heal up via touch of a button and zoom through the map like they were teleporting. I felt bad for the killer and signalled him to hook me so he maybe doesn't de-pip. They bullied him for a while, even after endgame collapse was over the match didn't end somehow, they kept going for around 3 minutes. After they finally decided to leave, i wrote the obvious "please all report those stupid hackers". Killer just responded "LOL i laughed so hard when you hooked yourself, that was a fun match".

  • I've rarely seen comments that i would classify as homophobic. Some people drew conclusions in different threads only because someone else said they don't want it to be forced and fear the character to be one-dimensional. Or they see it as some forced agenda by some groups. You can discuss about that if that's actually the case or not, but you can't make those accusations only because you feel like it and someone disagrees with your opinions and wishes, because those are serious accusations...

  • Why doesn't have Spirit the highest kill ratio? Why are relatively good killer players still losing with her?

Why is she not picked more if she's so easy to 4k every match? Because killer players are so noble and do care about survivors fun so much? That's honestly not my experience from playing survivor, getting tunneled/ slugged/ camped/ Noed'd every second match...

Why are there killers saying she is hard to play for them? Because some people just don't like the way she works, it's uncomfortable for some to not see anything and just have to work with what you hear. Saying she requires absolutely no skill and anybody can be good with her is just not correct. If you're good and experienced in this game, you will probably also be a good Spirit, if not then not.

How do "counter" a deathslinger in an open deadzone? How do you "counter" a Wraith that just guessed your position behind a Wall correctly and hits you? Isn't juking an Hillbillys chainsaw as much skill as mindgaming a Spirit?

How do survivors even manage to escape against Spirits? -> most will answer "bEcAuSe ShE wAs jUsT BaD" which is a killing argument because i can say that about nearly every killer... why the Huntress/ Deathslinger didn't hit you in an open field with LOS? Guessing and mindgaming will forever be part of the game, accept it. Btw i don't have a problem with Spirit getting clues about her power, as long as those work like the red stain and you can use it for mindgaming survivors.

  • There is not really any metric that shows who has won, and it's hard to find any metric that shows how balanced the game is. In general, you shouldn't play this game to win. We just have to accept that Dbd can be very unrewarding and punishes mistakes quite harsh. This game is hugely momentum based. I had games were i played very bad as killer (or let's say, i got a map like Ormond, survs did gens and i couldn't pressure enough due to the map being too big) and suddenly in end game i could turn the tide because they ######### up a save and i slugged everyone. Or if the killer suddenly decides to chase that god Meg and the last 2 gens, while being in a bad position, just pop, even though he had an early kill in the match.

Kills doesn't mean that you played good, the same goes for escapes. If the killer camps his 2 only hooks (that he had in endgame) to his 2 only kills, does it mean the match was balanced?

Or if you get 10 hooks but only 2 kills, what does that mean? Some would say, it means the killer dominated the match. For me, that means that you either don't care about kills or that you are a BAD killer - because killer is not just about doing good chases and mindgames - it's also about management and game sense. If you don't manage your hooks even though survivors only have 2 or 1 gens to do, you don't know how to play killer efficiently. I know, sometimes survivors manage to magically draw your attention to that one Feng who hasn't been hooked yet. But as a killer, you should know when to "tunnel" or "camp" (given that you're a sweaty tryhard), because killing someone is the greatest form of pressure for the killer in this game.

  • i played my first game after the 4.5.2 update against 4 rank 1 survivors and holy crap, i felt like a yellow rank killer again. Sure you can just wait it out if they're in a deadzone but that new movement will definitely help good survivors who know how and when to equip it (eg to fake vaults and common movement). It's too much for me, i play at 40 fps most of the time because of bad laptop, it felt like they have latency and disappear / teleport. It weren't even 360s, they just suddenly changed direction and it looked so unexpected and fast that it caught me off guard.

  • thanks for the help guys!

Yeah i know i only have to be there when the gen gets finished, but even that is really really hard, because you basically have to stay out of chase for the whole game or people will finish without you. Well i will try with Bond and just run around and see where i can finish something

If it doesnt say "in a single trial", then u dont have to do all 4 in the same game.

it says "in a single trial" unfortunately

  • Is this game popular in Japan? And are these players invited or is it just "anybody can participate"? I just skipped through the videos and some of the plays were like something you see in a normal purple/red rank match. Like strange mindgames at save pallets from the killer, strange pathing from the survivors etc...

I like the conditions, having every perk only 1 times and blocking killers so you don't see Nurse and Spirit all the time leads to a greater variety and a more unexpected course of the match - compared to Hexy's tournament, where everyone was tryharding for the money and you could easily see this game isn't balanced for competitive play.

I sometimes watch e-sport games and i don't know a single game that needs to establish so much made-up rules by the organizers to balance things out. Like sometimes you have a character or playstyle that gets banned but most dbd tournaments are like a completely other game lol.

  • it works for me sometimes because they don't expect it and still try to tap gens and then are overwhelmed by the sudden skillcheck. But the regression should be much bigger. Not a good perk but if you're playing with PGTW there are not many regression perk that synergize.

  • i tried it for a while without Stridor. You can hit non-IW survivors straight out of phase because the tracking is much more precise.

With Stridor, it's more like a general sense of direction or presence, but on-point hits are more difficult.

Nonetheless i'm using it again because Iron Will is dangerous on some maps (you don't have grass on every map and not every ground allows for footsteps). 2 survivors with IW (which isn't exactly uncommon) can cost you the whole game. I don't like to "focus" on survivors who don't have it only because they go down quicker, that's unfun. The louder breathing/ non-injured sounds are also a great thing.

yeah but i don't like doing that and i wouldn't put it over any of my perks even mindbreaker which has worked pretty well on him.

i get it's good and i usually spread the damage anyway but the build i got fits my play style more.

If you want to chase survivors you will definitely need Enduring, Spirit Fury or Brutal Strength. If you have problems with vaults and mindgames, maybe try Bamboozle or I'm All Ears. Anyway, if you like to chase then you will need 2 out of those imo.

If you play him more like "hit & run" which is imho the more effective way because it complements his abbility and strengths, you need Sloppy and Nurse's -> just do surprise attacks, then check the situation, maybe you can down them, if not leave and surprise the next!

I also use MYC a lot (it's great especially with the purple All Seeing add on) but MYC doesn't synergize well with Sloppy unfortunately.

I bring PGTW every time but the other 3 perks change depending on the add ons that i use, eg if i bring the pink All seeing (gen progress visible), i don't bring BBQ or Discordance. If i bring green Blind Warrior, i don't need Sloppy. If i bring purple All seeing, i don't need Nurse's. Basically i try to bring perks that complement each other and then i adapt my playstyle.

But here are my top perks that i usually choose from: Pop, Surge, Overcharge, BBQ, Discordance, MYC, Rancor, Sloppy, Nurse's, STBFL and Franklin's for the Flashys.

Add ons: Windstorm basically every game, the other one usually is: All seeing purple or pink, the Clapper add ons, green Blind Warrior or sometimes the brown "The Ghost"

  • well not completely useless as you can avoid a DS and Unbreakable in slug situations, also you don't have to bring them to a hook which sometimes means that the other survs can't heal the slug or crawl out...

But yeah, this is highly situational...

Premonition and Spine Chill were my crutch perks during my early days as a young bush. I still run Spine Chill since stealth killers can still make me pee my pants a little, totally forgot Premonition exists.

Yeah, before i discovered the power of Spine Chill i used Premonition all the time. Good old green rank days.

(Empathy and of course Self-Care are also such perks that remind me of my early days <3 )

  • The problem with Undying was that it didn't led to killers playing more "fair"

  • i play a lot of Wraith and i know that feel. I try to see it as some kind of achievement (they usually do that if you give them a hard time) but some do this even though they destroyed me already (they're just bad people hiding behind an alias).

Survivors always complain about seeing the same OP Killers over and over again but when they finally see a loopable low tier killer they get all cocky...

In addition, there is this "circle of hate" in the game which leads to people doing this (survivors get bullied, destroyed and insulted by the killer and then they take revenge the next game, the same goes the other way around)

  • Killer - Win

    • if survivors go for protection hits (eg when i want to hook somebody) or flashlight saves & stuns constantly. this gives me free pressure. basically if survivors chase me instead of me chasing them. This playstyle only works for them if they have at least 2-3 god loopers and 1-2 persistent gen workers
    • when i hook like 3-4 people before the first gen is done, it's most of the time a save 4k
    • when the first survivor i down suicides on first hook or DC's
    • when i see survivors just memeing around because they gave up (when i'm in a mood i meme with them, we shouldn't take this game so serious)
    • indoor maps give me a good feeling because they complement my killers of choice
    • i've won many game because of a good 3 gen or survivors ######### up an unhook in endgame, never give up!

    Killer - Lose

    • when my first chase leads to nothing and then i have to leave and my 2nd chase also goes on forever - then i know i will have a hard time getting some kills
    • when i'm getting stubborn and don't want to leave that god survivor who is looping me in a strong loop
    • when i have BBQ and see 3 survivors splitted up on 3 different gens, this gives me a bad feeling
    • when i lose the important gen in the middle early or if i get a spread apart 3-gen, this is not a certain defeat but it makes things much harder
    • maps like Ormond, Rotten Fields, Haddonfield give me a bad feeling straight form the beginning of the match

    Survivor - Win

    • when a killer is getting lost in a chase and is completely ignoring me on a gen, generally if he is chasing someone for a long time while the others are doing gens
    • sounds strange, but when survivors leave me on hook for a while (sometimes even letting me go into 2nd stage) to churn out gens splitted up across the map, that's usually a good sign for a solo team
    • if some important hex totems are getting cleansed in the first minute of the match

    Survivor - Lose

    • when survivors go down VERY fast
    • when i'm on hook and all 3 survivors run towards me even though i have Kindred
    • when the Killer is getting down after down and no gen pops
    • when the Killer is Freddy, i just can't win against him

To be fair - playing Killer IS easy. I know that you Killers like to have a Thread were you can talk about how HARD and SKILLFULL this game is as Killer, but the reality is that playing both sides is easy in this game because DBD is not difficult at all.

It is a complete casual game on both sides. Killer is harder than Survivor, but thats about it.

The difficulty in this case depends on your opponent. Of course it's easy to run behind someone and press M1, as it's easy to hold W and press Space at a pallet. But like everything in life you can master even an easy task to incredible levels. It doesn't matter how easy your goal is, if your opponent is really good you need to squeeze out every skill you have. And if survivors play very good it's necessary to make good decision in quick succession. This makes killer very exhausting, you don't need rocket science but you need to be tough and persistent.

tl;dr the difficulty depends solely on your opponent
