You solo queue players know exactly what I'm talking about. Game starts. Killer is chasing a teammate. You've got 75%-90% of a gen done. Your teammate goes down after an okay chase. The hook happens, bam pain res on your 90% done gen. All of a sudden you've got a teammate on a hook, 5 gens still left, and the killer is now chasing someone else while you have to do a good chunk of your gen all over again, or the killer comes for you and that gen regresses all the way and you GET NO PROGRESS and you're whole team is now way behind.
This exact scenario plays out in like 40-50% percent of my solo queue games it is literally demoralizing seeing that first pain res hit before you get that first gen done. It seems to start the domino affect of pain. I play both sides equally and I'd equate it to 2-3 gens being done before your first hook when playing killer.
Every once in a while you get a start where 3 survivors start on separate gens and you can bypass this, but that's rare in solo queue for survivors to stick gens early like that.
Third pain res threads today. im actually shock!!! What wrong with pain res? it keep the early game from getting out of control and even slightly incentivize people to go for different Chases to keep the gen pressure down. Even tho plenty still tunnel with it
I think Dead Man switch is more of a problem personally especially with grim running around

glad u got your achievement. It's definitely not easy running the iridescent tombstone and infinite. You pretty much stuck stalking the whole game.
With that being said i hope they gut tombstone piece very soon. Pinky finger, spirit mdr, blight addons, etc. They remove most of the broken addons and Myers should be up next.

Often times a big thing newer and intermediate level players struggle with is map variations and pallet spawns. Each new map only exacerbates this issue, no matter how easy to learn they might be. It can be extremely daunting for new players to be thrown around from map to map without ever getting the sense they're comfortable enough with their knowledge of each individual layout.
Something that I think would curtail this issue is Basekit WoO and Zanshin, as it gives a level playing field where all players know of the immediate options and plays in the area. It would serve as an indirect buff to blindness, making many add-ons and perks a good bit more viable. It solves the issue of Windows being the highest used survivor perk, cause now everyone has it. Killers get an outright buff that lets them better grasp the loops they're committing to.
To be frank, I feel like everyone wins with this. Thoughts?
You must not know how much people dislike windows. Basekit? that would never fly

Which DbD year is your fav?
Year 8 is easily my fav honestly. It was just so good year, we got amazing chapters.
And it's funny because year 7 is opposite, it's worst year. Except Wesker, all of killers are just boring or bad designed. And i am not fan of any of survivors as well, except Rebecca. Overall, it's bad year.

Self-preservation horrible
If the killer on someone else why do u need your scratch marks to disappear? The only scenario this could do anything in is when the killer hard tunneling You. If u have body blockers and u trying to disappear with this perk then maybe u can get a slight bit of vaule.
-
I think it's pretty bad on most killers the information is not precise enough. It solid on knight since he can send a guard immediately to check it out but for most killers it meh. Might consider using it on pig after the box aura reading nerf.

We can only speak for ourselves but atleast for the past 3 weeks (we're guessing roughly 45ish games primarily survivor) 40ish percent has been a game where 1 will try to swing off hook and give up, but we've had 2 DC in that timeframe (of which one was us due to internet dying).
We're of the opinion that they're not as common as we keep hearing, but that's us.
about the same. maybe 30% still just a ridiculous amount

i can't count how many times i pick a survivor up, seen a near by hook, and walk in that direction..... Just so every side can be close off.😞😞

If I had a dollar for every time some random DBD player thought long and hard about all the balance and design nuances stuck in every facet of this game, from the killers to maps to perks and everything in-between, and still thinks the solution is "git gud" in a match making system that's literally meant to put players at an equal skill together, I might actually be able to afford some cosmetics.

What is those bigger issues?
Just curious.
match making, buffing weak killers, etc. pretty much everything people complain about on the regular.
-
it a solid perk now but i wouldn't use shadows because it still kinda situational. It be decently strong on some maps when the basement spawn in main building. It usually not that hard to shift w to main building when it in the center of most maps.
-
Blight fine at 115% honestly. I like going up against him tho so maybe im just bias.
also he feel way more fair after his last nerfs so let him sit for a while

absolutely not. Especially not slinger or huntress

34 killers. if u not super fun or strong u want be pick.

Definitely way bigger issues to tackle than this very minor problem. It just random chaos like a hatch spawning directly under a survivor or a 4% off the hook.

Since there have been changes to try and help make dbd enjoyable for both sides is there any thoughts on a solution to tunneling at 5 gens. I know it isn’t an easy problem to find a solution to especially since there are situations where killers will need to tunnel for pressure and getting someone out but it’s no fun when it’s happening early and it’s overall just weird behavior.
i think we need to see the DS buff before anything. It sound impossible to stop 5 gen tunneling without nerfing tunneling all together.

Can you show me a recent 50-100 solo queue escape streak video?
The 200 wins was done by the best team in the world, and they had very soft ruleset with 3 people out. Killer winstreak are usually 4K and some even prefere 4K before last gen pops. And 200 wins is for killer not much. Even Pig and Myers streaks close to that number.
Is winstreak telling the full story of ballance? No, that would go to far, but it is an indicator that killer can get wins more consistent.
There is no solo q streak of 100+ wins. Ayrun got a 34 excape streak but i don't think sitting in the corner waiting for everyone to die is much of a accomplishment. Which most of these solo streaks are base on and without it they wouldn't even get over 10 games.

Im grateful that the devs listen to the players. I feel the majority of games devs don't.

You yourself wrote that you have never used Dramaturgy before. If you're going to put this perk at rank 9, I'd say use it first. It can protect you from damage in many positions. Also, the survivors you knocked down because of exposure either couldn't loop very well, or they used the perk in the only place it shouldn't be used (i.e. the dead zone).
It look weak but i will give anything a chance. What build is best with it?
-
1. Sb- escape the chase for free. been the strongest survivor perk in game since 6.1 if u ask me. No such thing as dead zone with this perk.
2. DH- Still E! go head and get mad. still the goat baby. shout out the boi Dave
3. Lithe- Strong but i don't like using it. A lot of times I feel like you end up wasting your lithe when you don't want to use it. Most chases you don't won't to drop the pallet immediately and taking the window will proc lithe. Could slow vault i guess but ehh.
4. Background player- can feel stright up uncountable at times. Make flashlight saves and sabotage saves viable. if i was ranking base on swf it would be higher
5. Adrenaline- super clutch but inconsistent in value. So many times you don't even get to end game or u wasn't even injure when it proc. In swf this perk is goated but solo q ehh
6. balance landing- great but sometimes can be hard to proc. I can't see it being any higher but still a strong perk.
7. overcome- Solid perk for taking a body block hit and getting away immediately. Lucky break combo solid as well
8. Head on- fun in swf and can work in solo if u have a whole build around it. Plenty of utility perks to help it (quick in quiet, lucky star, dance with me). overall kinda weak
9. Drama turgy- This is the only perk on the list that I don't use. Base off all my killer games i would say it meh. I don't know how many survivors i got a down on because of the expose.
10. smash hit- ayee look 20 secondssss!!...yeah it still awful

It’s been two years since survivors lost most perks, got 90 seconds gens, lost medkits, bnps, DH, CoH, lost prove thyself, gen tapping, and infinite other nerfs. Although the HUD and basekit BT were great, we never got anything good in these last two years, except MFT, which was nerfed soon. Will survivors ever have something good to expect from the game? Or are we just punchbags for killers to have fun while we enter in matches that are hopeless 80% of the time?
You got the DS buff coming but that about it. Survivors definitely need more things to get hype for like new items.
But i really don't understand why survivors list every single thing that ever been nerf on their side in alphabetical order. It's equivalent to seeing a killer crying about every single gen regression perk that got gutted.
-
@Sandt1985 said:
I keep hearing that solo que players still need more help in DBD, but I got to ask..........Really??
I'd like to point out how many buffs solo que got in the past 2 years. Anti face camp, basekit BT, the new gen regression rework to prevent three gens, nerfs to gen regression perks across the board, a way for all survivors to see when another survivor is in chase, showing all survivors what specific action another survivor is doing at all times, the visual heartbeat, STBFL was nerfed, mangled is being gutted in the next update, solo que has gotten a lot of help over the years. The one other thing they tried was basekit unbreakable, but that PTB it was tried in showed why that should never be attempted again.
I gotta ask, what more do you want?? Basekit 5 second DS? Basekit Kindred? When will it be enough? At what point will they be satisfied?
I think people want competent teammates. That would be the biggest buff possible.

@xEa said:
Hello there,
While on the first look this questions seems to be easy to answer, it is actually not - at least for me. Lets assume this scenario:
DS will be buffed to 5 seconds as it used to be.
Many survivors will run DS because of that, and to counter slugging, survivors will also bring Unbreakable. Even tho not every survivor is running DS, killer will most likely assume, everyone has it. Therefor it is a constant threat, a spirit protecting the survivors, so to say.
Now comes the part where i am unsure: What will killer do in response to that more or less unbeatable meta?Slugging wont work very well, because anti slug perks will be meta. Tunneling would not work because DS. So normally, the next best strategy is gen pressure.
When killers are "robbed" by their best and second best strategy, wouldnt it be possible, that killrates drop down? Sure, MMR is there, but lets assume the majority of killers drop down all together in MMR, this would eventually lead to less kills, right?
And aren't the devs seeking for a way to instal 60% killrate? When killrate significantly drops, wouldn't that mean they have to
- Increase Gen time?
- Lower pallet count even more?
- Make maps even smaller?
I know how bad Tunneling is, but would it be really better to play on a map with 2/3 size, 7 pallets and 100 second gen time (all exaggerated of course!)??
Throw in your thoughts please.
PS. i am not a killer main, who wants to sneak away from the DS buff, i only want to have a discussion about a topic that might be more complex then it seems to be.
almost nothing will happen. The kill rates wouldn't even go down much either
Tunneling still will be better than camping, 12hooking, 3 genning, or whatever else so they will tunnel through the DS. Tunneling would just be way more risky that it. A great player could possibly shift the game off the new buff DS but good players can do that currently anyway. The vast majority of survivors are low level and will still die immediately afterward. and the average decent player might die on 2 gens now instead of 3. you may see these streamers who tunnel all day for a 99% win rate go down to 95%. This is all assuming that DS will go back to 5sec (might not)
-
Outside of a few BS maps like Haddonfield i don't have much complaints. Some weaker killers still need buffs.

I hope it’s on their radar.
Maybe at 5% of the orginal value.

Where did you get the 60% number? According to BHVR's own stats high MMR survivors have an escape rate of 43.09%.
they talking about some x comp killer player who now mainly play survivor apparently. The only reason I even know this is cuz they post the same comment in three to four different threads.
-
The complete center of the map is a dead zone for free downs. The only Redeeming quality is you got good line of sight in the center so you can shift W to the main building just like Haddonfield. Obviously main quite stupidly strong to point u don't even wanna ever defend the gen up there
-
Martyr
you've been systematically target for someone else gain and the team is fuel by your scafirce. This perk only activate upon death if the following requirements have been meet.
* no one else has been hooked
* there more than one gen left
All remaining survivors get a permanent 15% boost in repair speed.
blank
The killer can enlarge/project there red stain up to 8 meters infront of them.
Activation requirement: none
effect duration: 5 seconds
cool down: 45 seconds
Spin off
A universal perk for killer and Survivor. After spinning around you can sit a after image of yourself down in a spot.
Activation requirement: you must rotate your character model in a full circle.
Effect duration- the clone image start dissolving in 3 seconds.
Cool down: 20 seconds

The game still fun for the most part. i feel killer and swf is a blast to play still. i can usually play for 4 to 5 hours and not get bored. As for that other role i don't won't to speak on it really anymore. but I'll sum up the state in killer terminology. solo q isn't viable!

legion or clown

Doctors no longer addon dependent. How can this be a nerf?
clown got more bottles but less blurring for survivors. net buff for the clown
The pig got a well deserve nerf to the cheesy trap kill builds. She got a good buff anti loop wise but overall it was definitely a net loss. Still healthy change

I'll say this I'm not good at survivor I'm decent but not good once a gen is left and there are two survivors once one of us goes down I'll stop I'll recover if I'm down extra BP but I'll stop if someone is on the ground I also stop. Just because one gen is left doesn't mean you'll win I know how it'll play out the killer slugs and keeps searching so why bother rescuing. Now I know some will say "You still have a chance leaving your teammate bleeding on the ground is poor sportsmanship and selfish." My dear survivor or killer player....I'm soloQ matchmaking isn't going to favor me if I live or die i had a match where I escaped against a huntress only using her hatchets next match my teammates and I got destroyed because the killer slugged and tunneled at this point I've learned if your soloQ either you care about yourself or about your team it can't be both. So if the killer decides to slug my last teammate I'll wait out the timer and attempt hatch but oh what's that it's still a bad thing because the killer decides nope I'll let them live kill you but if the roles were swapped nope won't happen. Even as killer every survivor is treated equally if the last one drops their item i just see it as an item boom on the ground because they most likely have a dozen more. Anyways cut the rant short basically i don't know what to do anymore when it's a 2v1.
There zero reason to pick up the preson on the floor because u won't complete the last gen so you better off playing for hatch. The person on the floor must suffer for 4 minutes because of this. Personally i just pick them up or die trying. i don't care about the hatch it a cheese win to me just like tombstone piece.

Those perks won't give you a free escape if the killer tunnels you, but they work - they make the killer waste more time tunneling you and give your team more time to crank gens. But survivors don't like teamplay when they aren't in SWF, so here we are.
In the same way everyone on the forum complains that solo q survivor lacks information, but nobody equips Kindred when playing a solo q survivor.
nor should they give u a free excape! but you should get a decent amount of distance which DS does not provide especially vs high mobility killers. Off the record can be knock off immediately so this perk isn't worth debating to me. "they make the killer waste more time tunneling you and give your team more time to crank gens" we gotta stop saying cranking is the counter to everything. Every strat have it own counterplay and gen rushing can get u kill in many scenarios. Gen rushing do not beat tunneling in solo q maybe in swf when u actually can call on perfect body blocks.
hit and run stealth killers - You don't crank vs a hit and run wraith. u heal and slowly pick off the gens as he slowly burn through survivors resources. Attempting to crank over healing can lead to multiple downs and snowball.
camping/proxy camper- If the killer camping everything than cranking and trading could work here.
3 genning- etc ....u get the point
cranking gens verse a tunneling killer usally end up in a 3v1 scenario almost every time. The question is how many gens will be left 2,3? The counter to tunneling in solo q is to actually be a good looper. that it! At most these Anti tunnel perks give u chance to play one more loop. At worse they do absolutely nothing.

Killers know they get a free hit as soon as it's dropped, so you can actually waste a bunch of time just standing in the middle and doing nothing. It's funny how often that works.
Yeah that's pretty much the go to for a bunch of unsafe pallets. just let the killer bait each side a hundred times. They just waiting for the panic drop or slide over. The best bet is to die underneath those type of pallets most of the time anyway. At least it could serve as a pallet save threat

I always played pig as a M2 killer because of scorpionz way before the ptb. The dash was never bad u just needed to run addons for it like doctor. The pig definitely got nerf overall but i don't mind it. Strategizing around the boxes as they call it...was pretty cheesy in my opinion. Too strong / safe? Too many deadzones? Too contingent on luck / RNG?
Most of the map vary too much to make a single statement so I'll go through a few realms without being long winded. I feel the last 3 maps been fair for both sides but the devs is definitely playing it safe. lack of dead zones & plenty resources to cater towards the Survivor but also a bunch of unsafe pallets for the Killer.
Toba landing and Nostromo half the time spawn miniature versions of traditional loops. Tiny long walls to point that the killer can lunge around half of it. The Jungle Gyms also seem to be considerably smaller as well. The new map and nostromo both full of unsafe pallets with weak main buildings.
Mac maps new variations are fine and The orginal ones are too. outside of some strong main building they feel completely fair
Auto havens reworks was for the most part cool. i don't like azarov but pretty reasonable
The farm map that got heavily work on (rancid abattoir, cowshed) seem to spawn extremely tight 3gens consistently. As far as the loops most of the farm maps feel fair but do contain heavy dead zones.
overall i think behavior been ok on map design recently. yeah GOJ, Lampkin Lane, and Game need re-Reworks but for most part maps are not to egregious anymore. eyrie & mother dwelling way smaller now which is probably the best u gonna get from them.

How many people even visit the forums lmfao. I bet 99% of the player base doesn't even know they exist. You have to be quite passionate, aka spend a lot of hours into the game... which I'd (hopefully) assume it translates into higher skill.
The threshold for High MMR is also depressing low as killer. Just play during a Friday night, all the 5k hour SWFs show up... but hey, I guess those peeps aren't in the top 5% lol, after all if you don't have 20k hours and scrimming every other week, are you even a high MMR player?
(slight chuckle)
your high mmr too?.... alright let me stop🤣
I believe u. I just don't think every single player on here is high mmr and most them seem to think they are.
