I mean, based on what Otz said in a video not too long ago, even "big content creators" don't get anywhere when they raise problematic stuff like this.

So raising awareness by making a video on it, is probably the next best thing

i guess that could be his attention. He's having a little bit too much fun abusing in that vib for me

These past months, the rare times I've come to the forums it was mostly for a specific post. I didn't roam.

Today I've looked at the subjects and I found quite a lot of posts complaining, many displaying a fundamental misunderstanding of the game. (I did ignore the quite usual "I can't be bothered to learn so nerf")

Did I forgot how whiny it was or was there some recent surge?

If anything I feel like there are way less reasons to complain than ever before.

And to top this, we have an event right on the corner.

it pretty negative 95% of the time and been like that.

The forums make for great entertainment. I like reading all the crazy meltdown posts before going in for a boring day of work. Yin yang balance

Ideally, so people abuse it and thereby garner more attention to it getting it fixed faster.

    Also, cuz it's kinda cool.

🤣 The solo q buff people been waiting for.

  • why would a big content creator do a vib on such a game breaking bug. knowing half the players will probably do it?

  • didn't look that crazy at all. You made some distances each time and even made it to a long wall loop. just was no pallet there. (not your fault of course)

As human race has developed there seems to be 2 ways to promote a certain behavior, even ur parents do this. Let’s say ur gol is to not eat burgers, one way u can do this is to punish someone by let’s say punching him every time he eats one, yes he will more likely then not not be willing to get punched and may stop eating burgers, but this is far from being the best way to do it. The other way is to give that same person 20 bucks everyday he does not eat a burguer, and he will more likely then not stop eating burgers cause he’s being rewarded for it. We saw that punishing killers for tunelling isn’t going to change it, cause it’s I still the most effective way to win. The only way to stop tunelling is to make so it’s not the most viable option. REWARD killers for playing “nicely”. Make so every time u hook a different survivor once a gen loses 15%, but if someone dies this affect no longer works, then nerf the current NECESSARY gen regressions, then there would be a reason to avoid it. If this effect isn’t enough make something else, but rn I don’t believe that what they are doing it the correct way to do things. Also make people using bt have no collision, this should’ve be happening since the beginning

    nah

Players will still tunnel and ONLY go for separate hooks when the gens are being pressure extremely hard. If they don't feel any immediate danger of losing the gens survivors will still get tunnel.

  • I think that DS change need to come out sooner rather than later

Lack of changes to the many, many useless items, add-ons and perks is another reason why the game feels so stale to me. I have SO many items in my inventory that will never get used.

all them map and keys addons just sitting forever taunting me. Wish I could sell them for even 5% of the orginal price Haha

  • @TangledNoodles said:

Survivor gameplay is so stale, most of the perks are situational, the good/decent ones get nerfed into the ground.

With each new killer they have new mechanics for their power and addons. Survivors get... a skin with 3 mediocre perks most of the time.

Survivor gameplay has been practically the same for the last 7 years, the only new thing that was added was boons... wow.

Playing dead by daylight feels like a toxic relationship (for me) I want to quit but I still come back from time to time to check in and I'm just disappointed every time.

Looping is a thing of the past, half the new killers can hit you through them. Flashlights have been nerfed, med kits can't even fully heal you anymore, a toolbox last 5 secs. Meanwhile killers have endless tracking perks and counters. Fine looping was crazy back in the day but that was a survivors only way to stay alive and buy time. The maps are smaller and killers have more tracking perks.. make it make sense.

This game desperately needs new game modes or fun casual modes where people aren't so sweaty and have some variety for BOTH killer and survivor. The game is great and exciting when you first get into it and that's what reels people in, but at some point most people will hit a wall and the game just becomes boring and repetitive. (On the survivor's side at least)

I'm don't think the devs really care, because if old players quit they will just be replaced with new ones and the cycle continues. So why bother improve when you have the formula?

I would like it if they release at least one new item a year for survivor. A landmine, a zip line, a short time cloaking device, a half eating sandwich that you can throw at the Killer, anything at this point

  • slinger chain could be stronger but outside of that he needs nothing.

  • In my opinion if you going to run DS u need sb. To many times you go down in unfavorable area and ds don't give u enough distance. The best thing about DS is resetting your exhaustion sadly.

I actually find the add-on to hear the sounds of their generator repair sounds from a little further away to be good since I use headphones. I love that add-on.

Ghostface is really hard for me and since marking Survivors is his power, I can't bring myself to touch anything other than the one that lets you mark them faster and lets you walk faster when crouching.

I really wish I could get good with him but marking Survivors is so hard for me to pull off without getting revealed.

Which add-ons do you like for him?

philly for faster stalk and driver license for your only regression.

The matchbook is very good and i can see why u run it.

"really wish I could get good with him but marking Survivors is so hard for me to pull off without getting revealed." Unfortunately good survivors are super aware which mean u gonna need to get most of your stalk from a distance. You need the map knowledge of all the little sneaky spots to stalk from which will take sometimes to learn. You can just get close and try to stalk but it's very risky. If you get reveal you pretty much just wasted a bunch of time and have to leave them.

also Spooky and esskay are some people u can watch to learn all the little spots.

  • @CountOfTheFog said:

I can't think of what it does off the top of my head, but for me, the only add-ons that I use are two Brown ones.

None of his add-ons appeal to me other than the two Brown ones I use.

In my humble opinion, The Nightmare has better add-ons and I'm not exaggerating.

I remember getting every perk at Tier III on Ghostface, then checking out his add-ons. I was beyond disappointed.

Freddy only have 4 useable addons. Most of them outside of the red paint brush need a build around them to even be ok.

Black box for a end game build

    photo album need Dead man

the dresses addons need skill check perks.

ghost face definitely got way better stuff

  • very strong. i pretty much never take it off of him.

  • You pretty much need to go up against a comp team with no restrictions otherwise u can just use the excuse "they wasn't good survivors".

Just curious to what everyone likes and on what killers.

put it at max and start whiffing like a little noob. Went right back to 87! never was much of shadowborn gamer. I was misjudging distances around loops constantly which really hurt killers like doc and bubba badly (you need to be very precise with them). It did allow me to hug Loops way better as killer tho so i might try again down the line

It seems that regardless of the circumstances, the generator I'm working on keeps getting blocked. It's become a repetitive cycle where the generator gets blocked, then I or someone else gets spotted. When we resume working on the generator, someone ends up getting hooked and the match is hopeless, making it challenging to complete the generator.

Any suggestions for perks or tips to counter this perk would be greatly appreciated.

You really really really want to know??? (slight chuckle)

Have a team of good loopers who always give a great chase so grim embrace don't keep pushing u off.

So Step 1 dont play solo q

  • @Iron_Cutlass said:

SH: Pain Resonance, Grim Embrace, Dead Man's Switch. Every game.

Listen, I have no issue with people running whatever perks they want, but I pointed out that this combo will be extremely obnoxious once the update rolls out (when the PTB first came out) and GUESS WHAT, you see it every game.

Tunneling is made more effective with this, SH: Pain Resonance will probably knock your SoloQ teammate off a Generator, suggesting they even get on a Generator to begin with, and now Grim Embrace acts as that extra safety net since if they avoid SH: Pain Resonance they still have another effect to proc Dead Man's Switch.

Bonus points if you pair it with Ultimate Weapon, because youll not only get information with it but also free Generator blocking, because who doesnt love not being able to touch a Generator for a full 30 seconds after the Killer hooks someone.

SH: Pain Resonance and Dead Man's Switch was a fine and balanced combo, it punished Survivors for being oblivious and not paying attention to anything, but I feel as if this combo was just made unnecessarily strong when Grim Embrace was buffed and other perks were introduced (Ultimate Weapon).

Honestly it feel nice getting rewarded for downs when playing killer. The combo can actually be counter unlike eruption (letting go) but it extremely overpowering regardless. They gave killers way to much stuff in one patch with out giving survivor much. Better dry kick regression, no gen tapping, and a strong game changing meta perk. Survivors did get the 3 gen solution which is nice but dont happen every match. All the killers buffs will be felt in a regular matches. If the buff DS was out and all survivors had a good way of fighting the current tunneling epidemic! than maybe this new meta would be reasonable to go up against

  • @Reinami said:

Its not meant to be countered. Not everything needs a counter. It only works if you actively do not tunnel the survivors, so the "counter" to it, is that by definition of the combo working, you need to be spreading pressure to multiple survivors and hooks, meaning that there will be 4 survivors in the game for longer than if the killer hard tunneled. So what it is doing is making up for the fact that you have 4 survivors in the game longer.

It's a literally no different than tunneling with pain res. you can tunnel and still get crazy vaule later on

For the last few days I've been pondering to come back to DBD.

Especially to see how the average survivor would treat a non camping, tunneling or slugging killer (most probably Oni).

I've done similar a few years ago and I would like to know what others think I would encounter in terms of survivor attitude and/or behaviour?

Or is the situation not as bad as many want to paint it, saying it's only ever tunneling, camping and more tunneling and my conduct wouldn't be a refreshing change from the average? (Not meant as an attack or trick but a honest question)

The entity starving. U must come back actually!

  • Behavior could put out a brown shoe for the next Survivor..still getting it

  • jUsT wait iT oUt bRo. honestly it not that bad as old eruption because u can just let go. Still it ridiculous overall

Yeah, the Map needs some work. Less strength for the houses, more strength for the rest of the Map. At least this is what I hope.

Watch every build and get the rancid abattoir nerf. I'm talking one bad window per house and that it hahaha joking.

The only problem is you can see every thing in the street so adding a bunch pallets in the center will cause chain looping. I don't see what else they could do

  • Haddonfield getting change! thank god

  • If these emotes will help coordinate or communicate better im all for it. There absolutely should be a emote for do not heal me. Personally i would want a thumb up emote

  • I once went 500 hours without seeing a single oni. NA

  • I have fun anticipating where the nurse going to be but it get dull fast when they using a full aura reading build.

  • @NerfDHalready said:

survivors are already complaining about grim embrace, the one perk noone ever used?? ofc they do. and this takes 2 (two) T-W-O perk slots so it's basically fair. can killers not find useful, smart, niche combos with the very few useful perks they have left? are you gonna get all of them nerfed?

"and this takes 2 (two) T-W-O perk slots so it's basically fair" just cause something take two slots dosen't mean it not broken right nerfdhalready? you had pretty clear stance about ftp/buckle up in other threads.

  • I don't heal against him but i don't get mad with others do. Some players panic more at loops if they gotta play injure so i understand. It only a few reasons to ever heal against him. The gen that need to be complete in a dead zone, someone gotta go for a save, or 12% thana.

  • Feel way better playing the killer at least for me but way more horrible as the Survivor. Trickster and knight need way better counterplay to be tolerable

who would guessed that getting use out of your perk makes it worth selecting in a load out.

We can agree to disagree i guess. With a large meter range it'll be too much value

that is not worth it. 3 people on gen is superior to 2 people on gens using the perk.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3635249#Comment_3635249

how is it free? your looping the killer. to save 7.66 seconds on a gen, you have to loop the killer for 90 seconds. that is really long time in dbd terms. Most chases don't even last that long.

i said it would be free if u increase the range. With let say a 48 meter range u could boost multiple gens people working on! "to save 7.66 seconds on a gen, you have to loop the killer for 90 seconds. that is really long time in dbd terms. Most chases don't even last that long"

I mean you going to get in a few chases at least and it would boost multiple gens at the same time if you increase the range enough. Put quick Gambit at 48M and i guarantee u the usage would skyrocket.

  • The perk way better than before but still not worth running. You can't really increase the range anymore or it just be free gen boost. This is probably the best it can be while retaining the orginal idea.

  • I'm supporting everything behavior release. I'm dbd stand

  • @SOULWARRIOR71K said:

I’m really curious as to why it’s not painfully obvious to the devs that this will make games absolutely horrendous once this is optimized.

The dev watching it so let just see how it feel. Definitely look extremely strong tho

  • U could already block all the gens every hook with dead man & UW on a fast movement killer. blocking gens for a long time every down just give me eruption flashbacks.

  • Outside sadako pretty ok changes i would say

  • @UndeddJester said:

We've heard of the survivor handbook for killers before... but for my fellow killers playing mostly chill and for fun, what are your triggers that flick your murder switch on to showing no mercy and going hard in the paint?

I personally have 3 (in order from lowest level to highest): -

    • Hanging around and following me constantly for flashlight/pallet saves/instant unhooks.
    • Using FTP+Buckle Up in my face when I'm playing a meme build/weaker killer.
    • Anyone who consistently tries to spin tech me.

    1) Generally speaking, it takes multiple offences of following me and trying for flashlight and pallet saves to annoy me. For the most part I dont begrudge this, but when a player is going well out of their way to mess with, frustrate and deny me, I will gun for them hard if I get the chance.

    2) Using FTP+Buckle Up when I'm playing a more low tier killer is such a slap in the face. I'm playing a weaker killer, I'm not camping, I'm not tunneling, I'm not being nasty in the meta... and you pull that crap so blatantly in my face? Hell no. I don't care if I throw the game doing it, if I can kill you, I will sacrifice everything to do it.

    3) Spin teching specifically annoys me to high hell. I used to be a PC gamer, but due to issues with my hands I had to switch to console. I can play for very short stints on PC, and I played a game of Wraith where people kept trying to spin tech me, and my God, I couldn't believe how easy it was to handle spin techs comparatively. I won't call them cheaters or exploiters, because it is a mechanic facilitated by the game, but it rubs me the wrong way because it's making your hit box screwy and awkward, and taking specific advantage of my controller limitations... and if youre gonna use a very frustrating and annoying in game mechanic against me, I have no problem doing the same to you. What really gets my back up about it is survivors on controller can't do it very well at all, which adds to the PC/console gulf. Although you can spin on controller, it is far less effective compared to a mouse driven spin tech. As such, if I get a chance to punish a spin techer, I will do so ruthlessly with no remorse.

If any of these things occur, if I get the chance to kill, I will take it without mercy and no consideration to my usual no-tunneling self imposed rule.

My fellow killers, what are your personal murder button triggers? 😁🤘

When I'm minding my on business chasing a survivor around a loop and another one pop up to pallet drop me from behind...... i always give them the slow turn like "u want some too b**** ?"

another one is when a survivor running vigil and sb. Specifically when they run away and don't return to the gen into they can Sprint burst again. I don't tunnel them but i definitely show them my appreciation after hooking them!

  • 6 hours on Saturday and Sunday. Average 3 matches per hour so about 36. (all killer games)

when i play only survivor matches they add up much quicker.
