Hopefully it will be a good change, because it might be the only thing survivors will be getting until the anniversary event.
gut feeling telling me it's gonna be strong. then you going to have a whole new issue of killers complaining that they can't get even 1 kill because the preson who got focus was running DS. Endless cycle

That's good.
They need to see their solo-q player-base are not happy. So instead of excuses, they need to fix whatever problems they have. Ofcourse if they want to keep this game alive.
I don't think they got any plans for solo q period. The rates seem to be the main focus not the happiness.
-
I'm really not sure why the devs haven't gone back to this issue. Basekit unbreakable fail and they decided to just move on to other things.

DS will be only meta again if they make it better than OTR. A huge change alone would be 80 secs. , like OTR.
im assuming it going back to 5 seconds which would make it the number 1 most use survivor perk immediately.

People on here won’t be happy unless it’s buffed to work after each unhook and stuns the killer for 10 seconds.
Hahaha that would definitely end tunneling

We have 76 characters, and if you want perks on EVERYONE, it'll be 228 Prestiges (76 x 3) which is... a lot.
With me using offerings that I've stacked from anniversary events + BP incentive I can barely get 2 prestiges in 4 hours, and a new player would have none of the really good offerings at the start. They would have incentive though.
But then you factor in that survivors can range from getting 4k to 35k BP, and killers can't even reach 40k if they wanted and I'm worried for the long-haul.
Especially when you want to p100 characters, which I know is just a flex rn and doesn't matter so won't really equate into this discussion. But if each prestige is 3 hours on average, and you tell a new player they need to spend 684 hours to p3 every character to start build customizing isn't that a problem? (P100'ing every character would take around 22k+ hours rn btw)
The easiest (?) suggestion I can make is to un-cap the categories and add a global cap in matches.
So for killers, instead of Sacrifices, Deviousness, Hunter, and Brutality maxing out at 10k. They would just keep going up until a global cap of 40k. Same for survivors (which would also fix the complaint of people getting tunneled receiving 0 BP and same for those stuck doing gens)
Then rework the bad BP offerings (everything except anniversary, BPS, and escape cakes/survivor puddings) into granting bonus BP for x category ACTIONS. To help get the max 40k, instead of multiplying afterwards. Would make the browns useful.
This also has the benefit of Blight not being the best BP gainer in the game, fixes every insta-down killer getting less points for fast chases, etc. Could even add more score events (SHOULD add more score events, huntress not getting a BP score event for 24 meter downs even though there's an achievement for it is very confusing, and slinger has "sharpshooter" which is the same hit form x distance requirement)
I have more BP earning ideas, but that gets into rift, daily's, etc. And doesn't fit the "probably an easy change from the player POV" of the post
Hope to hear more idea's though
The grind definitely still tough but I'm not complaining about it.
nearly at 2k hours with around 190 levels of prestiges. Granted a good 500 of them hours were in custom matches so no bloodpoints for those

These solo q threads are endless lately. The DS buff better be magical 🥴

Every killer on the forums is high mmr. 🤣🤣 They just all happen to be in the top 5% no big deal bro.

My first game today I, no exaggeration, ran the killer for at *least* 2 gens. No one touched a single gen. I then managed to follow that up by completing the one and only gen (from start to finish) that got done that game, all on my own. At that point I decided I was just gonna get bp. I unhooked, I healed, I did totems. Didn't bother playing properly anymore since my team wasn't bothering. Everyone dead with 4 gens to go, I had 21k points and the second highest survivor had 8k points. I also had the honour of getting smacked on hook repeatedly for some reason.
I get that BHVR can't control the way solo players choose to play, and everyone has their own agenda when loading up, but in the past majority of the folks I was matched with at least tried. Now it's rare to get those team mates. Is it that those same people no longer care? Do they no longer play so there's a bigger pool of newer players to distribute? I have never called myself a great player. I've always said I'm average, so i dont expect some godlike loopers or sweaty team mates. I'd just like team mates who try. Outside of joining a swf, I don't know how to get those team mates anymore.
so basically a normal day of solo q

Are the devs collecting data and stats for solo queue players?
I have about 5000h of solo queue experience and it was NEVER that disappointing as it is today, by miles.
But you know what? Maybe its just skill issue...
bb
They have been trying to fix the uncoordinated mode known as solo queue forever. DCs bots and the Hud help a bit. They been nerfing certain playstyles like slug sadako, head trap box patrolling pig, Face camping, 3 genning, and was even trying to end slugging for the 4k with unbreakable at base. They've been trying but haven't touch the main two issues. Match making and tunneling! which in combination is the main reason solo q is unplayable. You can win with a bad teammate and u can win sometimes when the killer tunneling a decent/ good survivor. You can't win majority of the time when the killer tunneling a weak survivor out the gate which the match making happily give them for free all the time. I mainly play killer after 6.1 just way more fulfilling.

Solid add-on that don't need to be touch at all.

I'm fine with Killers having a 60% kill rate (I play both roles, but I do tend to play more Survivor than Killer). When I load into a Survivor match I fully expect not to escape. I just want to be able to play out a match and not feel like I'm wasting my time for booting up the game.
It feels like there are more frustrations to Survivor compared to what I experienced when I first started playing about a year ago. Be that inconsistent (or totally absent) match making, tedious but common perk combos like Pain Res + Pop + Grim Embrace, teammates tapping out without the courtesy of giving us a bot to play with, Killer perks I wish BHVR would hurry up and nerf / rework, some Killers being over buffed. It all adds up to a game that feels less fun to me right now. Most of my Survivor matches are sweaty at the moment, while Killer feels like it's on easy mode.
I don't know, maybe I'm just starting to get a little burned out by it all. Anyway, it's not the dying in most trials that bothers me, it's other aspects of the game.
"i fully expect not to excape" Truly sad that some solo q players have even gotta to this state of thinking.

With the recent Huntress changes, it got me thinking about how she is better than deathslinger in almost every way. DS has received very little attention since he was nuked a couple of years ago.
- addons. DS has three addons worth running (reload time, cigar) and needs help. The reduced terror radius addons are useless because they don’t reduce it enough to matter, especially since he moves so slowly while aiming. His iridescent addons are a joke, and are possibly the worst ones in the game.
- ADS: the devs got rid of his instacscope to increase “skillful” gameplay, so I see no reason as to why he can’t have more control while aiming.
- Terror radius: his terror radius change should be straight up reverted. Smart survivors had no problems seeing him approaching, in addition to the sound cue that plays while he is aiming.
Addressing these issues would go a long way towards making slinger more worthwhile.
You shouldn't be comparing those huntress changes to slinger to begin with! Those changes to the huntress (especially the movement speed while holding) are pretty busted and i would be very shock if they actually go live.

35%
hatch escapes, free escapes from the killer, and afk killers don't count. if so it would go another 10%
also including DCs

@I_CAME said:
The solo queue escape rate is already below 40%. Even killer mains like Otz immediately acknowledged this after the stats came out. One of the largest problems in solo queue is people giving up at the slightest inconvenience. The fact that they still didn't count games with a disconnect proves that they are statistically very significant. I feel like I am being gaslit into thinking that solo is in a better spot than it actually is. Common sense says the real escape rate is probably more like 35%. As someone else said this doesn't even take grim embrace, billy buff, etc into account. Then we have another big wave of killer buffs coming in the new update. I do wonder how many buffs they feel like killers need before they are satisfied.
This^^^^
The statistics is way lower than 40% obviously. Anybody who plays solo q or watch twitch streamers would know this. i get a DC on average every five games at least. I can understand why DCs isnt included in the stats but solo q survivors lose way more because of this. I wouldn't believe anything pass a 30% win rate in Solo Q for an average player.
-
it actually prefect to me

@Seraphor said:
It does however have a time limit. 30 seconds isn't long, and part of that is taken up by the time it takes to leave the gens terror radius. You get about 20 seconds of undetectable time for it, which isn't effective 32m around said gen.
20 seconds is more than enough time when you have info perks telling you exactly where to go. U can pull right up to certain gens with no line of sight like shack, most main buildings, and jungle gyms. It cool down is way to short and will be just absolutely free in any indoor map.
-
that kinda cool but i definitely not taking off the range for that

Does it seem as a solo survivor, that you're losing almost every game right now?
Honest question, not trying to make a point etc. I'm noticing in every match I play killer, I'm usually able to kill 2-3 people every time. Hardly sweating it just seems to be easy-ish...
When I play survivor, it seems the team mates I'm with are struggling to maintain a single chase for longer than 8-10 seconds. My MMR is in the top level bracket - just shy of 4k hours (but played since DBD inception back in 2016).
With the consistent middle finger to survivors (removing MFT, stopping gen regression, mangled/haemorrhage changes etc) and buffs for killers (5% gen regression, consistent perk increases, STBFL maintaining its impact even after nerf etc), and with even more buffs coming in this current PTB for killers (blight getting extra bounce on his amazing addon etc), how are people finding it?
I'm just seeking numbers/experience of those gamers who play this game frequently since the changes - have you found it harder to play survivor or easier/same - and do killers find it easier to kill people?
Do you miss the old DH/DS combo, like... that was the peak of game enjoyment right? or was it miserable for killers - or do Killers miss that?
Im about little under 2000 hours in and i think survivors gotta slightly easier with the hud. It still very difficult to excape and some days i do find it impossible to excape. They say the win rate 40% but don't include DCs which happen every 5 games on average in my experience (that's being generous). They don't wanna balance off DCs so i understand it not being in the stats but survivors are losing way more than the numbers show because of this.
My win rate with killer is about 75% to 80% on average. ( i play about half of the killers consistently throughout a given week)
my excape rate with survivor around 35% (including DCs)

Genuine question.
No maps being changed for survivors.
No meaningful perk buffs coming.
No new mechanics that benefit survivors.
No limited game-modes or events that are beneficial to survivors.
No solo-queue changes.
Seems like the only thing survivors can get excited about are skins these days.
If I'm wrong please correct me. But being a survivor main is rough.
How are we feeling about the role?
behavior been cooking lately but we still demanding more. I understand we get four new killers a year which keep the fanbase fed. It just would be nice if survivors could get one new Item/mechanic every so often.
boons was the last big mechanic.
The teamwork perks was weak but at least had a cool theme of benefiting from working close together.
lastly the portals from the void event was super fun and new for survivors.
-
the pig catch a lot of people out of position at boxes which is why this isn't exactly a buff. The dash will be more useful but they can still just stand by the pallet if they feel it a threat.
ok changes overall
clown more bottles. ok.....I dont get it. Why isn't pinky finger nerf to compensate for this?
horrible change unless u nerf pinky finger.
hag changes are fine,
demo barely got touch so ok i guess
doc cool
huntress got some crazy buffs. The pig jealous

Deathslinger is weak. His gun is easy to react to, can be bodyblocked, cannot down survivors behind pallets, stuns him for ages when the chain breaks, and the reload speed is still painful. The worst part, however, is the fact that this character has the worst map pressure in the entire game. He is slow, has no special traversal abilities, and no slowdown. Even Trapper has more map pressure than this guy. I like looping with him. His gun is cool and it is satisfying to use when it works, but the gens just go so fast when you're playing him. Every time I play against him I find him the easiest to just genrush and leave out of the entire roster. Not even mentioning the fact that survivors will just hold forward if they see you're somewhat competent. They need to buff this killer. Maybe make him 115. I heard someone on Reddit talk about how they could implement slowdown, something like a bounty system, which I thought was a cool idea. Let me know if you agree or disagree, maybe this is just a case of skill issue. If it is I apologize.
He should absolutely never ever ever be 115%. Maybe im just low mmr but i won my last 28 out 30 games with slinger. He incredibly strong in chase in my opinion with the only weakness being bad map pressure. I'm find his time to down more so make up for it. i love Pyramid Head for the same reasons. How often are you hitting your shots with him? and how long u been playing him?
-
nah behavior actually did a excellent job with the anti 3 gen system. Stop gen tapping, better base gen regression, and reduce terrible 30mins endless games.

This is nowhere an unpopular discussion and for a good reason. The fact that it’s not on their 2024 roadmap is actually insane considering how broken that combo is and I do not throw out that word lightly.
I’m sure 90+% of people here would agree with me since usually people are reasonable and this combo is very problematic but I really like to hear a louder demand from players of both sides for the devs to acknowledge and say that they’ll address the issue.
I’ve observed that this is a very argumentative community but I don’t see a way someone could have something to object my topic. Killers shouldn’t have to worry about more second chances on top of whatever the survivor they’re chasing has equipped. And of course needless to say this is even worse with swfs.
I’m excited to see y’all speak up on the issue and listen to the ideas y’all might have as to how the perks could be reworked so they wouldn’t synergies.
❤️
I'm pretty sure the devs acknowledge it in the reddit ask me anything. maybe i wrong!
The combo broken not much to talk about but i don't mind going up against it as killer. I run it when playing survivor and i think people slightly overestimate it. The survivor running it pretty much gotta be right on your a$$ to use it. They are often out of position because of this and can get hit easily. I think background players far worse personally.

I'm a survivor with over 4k hours - I agree with the op. We are too powerful. I think gen speeds should be increased by at least a minute. Remove hatch. We will find ways to survive without our crutches.

The AFC mechanic only work if killers FACE camping, while the others keep doing Gens to make it work.
The proxy camping though, killers can simply keep the distance similar to the rescuer, then BAM, the AFC does not exist.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/RFZ55PA6QDB6/image.png
It just make it harder for survivors to recognize its a "Face camping" and waste alot of time to try unhooking, leading Gens cant be completed before the hooked teammate dies.
AFC at least make them back up from the hook.I feel it make saves slightly easier when the killer don't have clear line of sight of all approaching angles. Which is better than before but u kinda right about it still. It just face camping from a distance 🤣🤣
People love playing semantics so i see no point in debating what is actually face camping. I think the system is acceptable in it current state

he feel better to use to the average player and undeniably stronger overall. With that being said I kinda dislike Overdrive personally. I tried to play through ten or so survivor matches of the new 'Lights Out' Game Mode. I have to say, if nothing else, this event really makes you feel like Alan Wake in the Dark Place...
Desperate for escape. Surrounded by encroaching darkness. Void of anything but fleeting hope, snuffed out the moment I realise the killer is going to tunnel me out again. The resignation and despair that comes with the inevitability of the killer getting a free first hit and knowing that I will most likely remain injured for the rest of the game, for my teammates are as lost in the darkness as I am. Time slips through my fingers. I don't know if I can pull off the heal in time, for there is no progress bar to guide me, but I push forward. Right into the killer's hands. And in a blink, we're all hung up like animals freshly slaughtered. I dive into the next trial. I must keep writing, even if it seems futile. No perks, no terror radius, no HUD or hope of coordination, only the promise of a charm that may one day hang on my waist like my limp body, dangling helplessly off the ground. Perhaps I could go back. Change the story. Bend the rules to my liking. I could restore the killer's terror radius, or bring in flashlights to hold back the darkness for just a moment. Something needed to change, or the balance would remain upset. With a mechanical whir, the typewriter slots into place and I write the final line of my plea that goes out to those beyond the darkness. It reads, "Behaviour, please, make this mode even slightly bearable for solo queue survivors."
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 W
-
People always claim behavior need to buff perks instead of nerfing them. now we got
background player- There no counter play because the survivor running background player cannot be pressure from half the map away.
Ftp/buckle- i love using it but the combo clearly broken with little little counterplay.
The last one might be a hot take!
coup de gras- The effect was always strong but the lack of tokens kept it in check. Being able to swing around half the whole loop pretty much mean there no mind gaming anything. Pre drop or get hit before u can make it back to the pallet. on m1 instant down killer (ghost/myers) this perk is damn near stupid.
