Sorry but survivors demand that everything a killer can do must have CouNTerPlay! aka must be able to fully shut it down and ignore it.
The game is balanced for rank 15, so expect more extra life perks and nerfs to killers and killer perks in the future.
-
All the posts pointing out his flaws, and forgetting the game is balanced for rank 15-10 survivors.
Why else would they make his teleport take ages with a map wide signal that he is using it and a giant flashing light with a demogorgon slowly forming out of the hole.
It is the same with Freddy, only he can use the baby carry to his advantage and fake it, while demo can't.
They do it on purpose and will never change it.

I don't think it's fair to judge a player based off their team. If one good person gets teamed up with 3 bad players they are gonna lose as most of their team weren't being productive, but that isn't the good players fault, so why punish the good player?
They do in identity v and that game is massive on mobile.
If 1 escapes the team failed
If 2 escape the team tied
If 3 escape the team wins.

How does one second chance perk mean everyone else in the match needs to be downed more?
If I somehow tunnel the entire team and they have DS each of them, I only have to down them all one more time, not 12 more times.
3 (Normal) + DS = (4) x 4 = 16 Your maths is very miscalculated.
Dead Hard, also seen as a "second chance" perk, you don't even down them more times than normal, you just miss a hit, which happens multiple times, so are we counting the killer missing hits as a second chance?
Deliverance, another "second chance" perk, requires you to be hooked, there is no extra downing involved.
Unbreakable, very easy to counter, you hook them, isn't always guaranteed, and if you left them on the floor there is no guarantee they wouldn't have been healed anyway and thats the killers choice to leave.
Lol! you think ds is used to make the killer whiff, how naive of you...
DS is used to fix a looping mistake and stop the killer being able to hit you, or to get to unreachable loops from their previous spot.
It is a second chance because it literally erases mistakes that should go punished, Do i need to bring up what this perk does to nurse?
Every survivor becomes 3 hits to down, that is 3 random guesses you must make after a survivor finds cover, 3 chances for a survivor to waste a very large amount of the nurses time just because of a perk, it essentially makes her unplayable.
Don't go telling me that nurse players just need to be more precise either, cover hits are literally a game of eenie meenie miney mo did they go left, did they go right or straight? i don't know.

The problem with this game is that you could just have easy survivors that live in your area.
I watch any streamer that plays killer, and the survivors some of them go up against are the definition of potato. And the survivors are still red ranks!
They always fall for the same moon walks multiple times, They loop inefficiently, They don't do gens in their down time, they can't hit skill checks against ruin and gen tap like a r20 etc etc
Then you get my survivors. all the moonwalk tricks i see never work, they always know where i am somehow, always split up on their own gens all over the map so i can't even injure + chase to the point infectious fright rarely goes off during my games.
Each killer will have different experiences, some get potatoes and some get humans with a brain.

It needs some sort of confirmed value. As of now, the effect IS powerful in the EndGame. As everyone else has said, Hex perks rarely make it to the EndGame.
My idea is somewhat simple.
RUIN
Missed skill checks cause 5% more regression.
Skill check zones are reduced X%
Toolbox efficiency decreased X%
Good Skill Checks cause 1% regression.
Ruin becomes more diverse and stops potential gen speed increases, while not punishing newer players as much.
This would have been so much better.

Leatherface: Making him more unique. Especially his Add Ons, they are either useless (Chili Add Ons, which are even the one for the Character) or simply Copy&Paste from Hillbilly. Change to his Chainsaw Mechanic so that it works like Hillbilly (automatic start when fully charged), less Slowdown when revving.
But mostly Add On Rework, all of them would be great.
Hillbilly: Only Nerf/higher Rarity to Tuning Guide and Nerf of Cooldown Add Ons, because missed Chainsaw Hits should be meaningful.
If you nerf cd addons billy will never get anyone as 99.99999% of the time you will reach a window or pallet.

On the PTB they did feel a lot smoother with a lot less BS hits happening.
It wont go live as yet as its a test for now but I feel they are looking a lot better.
Probably going to shelve it because survivors can't moonwalk any more.

I've been using Corrupt instead of Ruin my past couple games instead
I find corrupt rather pointless. survivors just walk to the gens that are not blocked, and it is like your perk didn't even exist since you can only chase one survivor at a time, or break no pallets and spend the entire game shooing them off gens.

The Ruin nerf isn't even live yet so I doubt that's the reason. Keys seem to be used in more matches than mori's from my experience, though I do6have any data to back that up.
People forget that keys can be saved using addons so can be used for multiple games in a row.

OMG best idea ever, lock SWF behind a $10 per month paywall per person!

You won't even win while being sweaty, to many second chances.
To many op loops
The maps are to large
The loops chain into more loops into more loops into god loops into more loops, no dead zones.
-
It is a hex perk. It won't last long enough to do anything
-
A single survivor doing gens will only take 7 minutes.
As long as at least one survivor is doing gens at all times, you will not win as killer.
-
If their test crew did have thousands of hours, ruin would be gone within the first 30 seconds to 1 minute of the game, anything else and they are leaving it up on purpose.
-
If they actually put effort into putting moon walking back in the game, i will be even more disappointed.
-
All part of the plan, why else would they remove rank reset?
-
Careful, if you play wraith to much, he will OVERPERFORM because survivors are sick of seeing him and his stats will naturally rise.
The devs will nerf him.
-
Why would they fix something they didn't break?
Remember when sound was "bugged" and killers could once again hear survivors footsteps during chase? i think it was when they released the plague.
The forums were flooded with survivors complaining they they can't run past the killer without being detected, going as far as pretending to be killer mains and saying this is bad for the game
It was fixed within a week and this is their fix, silence.

Because survivors want to afk on gens. They don't want to make any effort at all. The most vocal complainers about NOED are the same people who refuse to run small game or detective's hunch or a map to find totems because it breaks their gen repair immersion. It's ######### stupid.
Survivors don't like to run anything else but the extra life perks.
The same thing happened with spies from the shadows, killers were running it and survivors complained that crows kept giving them away, they got told to run calm spirit but refused so bhvr nerfed sfts and made crows ignore a crouching survivor baseline.
Survivors always get what they want, and i am waiting for the mom buff that will undoubtedly come, just like decisive strike got a buff disguised as a neft.
-
Depends if the survivors know how to play against nurse, It is literally down to the survivors.
Do they run in straight predictable paths or do they do random things when they reach cover?
Do they use the new nurse husk to avoid being hit or do they not even see it and don't know it exists?
Do they sit on a gen like a moron when they hear the heartbeat, of do the sprint off early for maximum time waste as nurse is terrible at catching up.
I was watching a streamer play her yesterday at red ranks, and i couldn't believe how bad the survivors were, they were predictable af, did not try to 360 every hit (works against nurse sometimes) and used lockers...
Red ranks are meaningless since the rank reset changes, couple that with the fact survivors pip by picking their nose and passing wind, and every noob will make it to reds.

I dislike this map both as survivor and killer. It's good for stealth killers, but it's a chore for others like Billy, huntress, nurse, plague, etc.
Oh this won't change, they will just add more pallets and a god loop in the middle.

The drivel is unbelievable.
Ok, reasonable scenario. You get unhooked, killer starts to make their way back. You pop onto a gen because you have injury perks on. You lose DS, but the killer comes round the corner and re downs you in 30 seconds? Yeah, no. Try again
Don't get on the gen while injured or move somewhere safe.
Is it really that hard?

@andyollolloll I found some comments from Peanits, who is a Dev/Community Manager, addressing the topic of whether SWF is cheating since you asked for proof of what the devs have to say about it.

From this thread: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/104403/nerf-discord-swf-please/p2
Also, here is a comment from Peanits, from their Reddit AMA about a month or so ago, talking about their plans to balance SWF with solo play:
Like i said, they have already failed by keeping kindred a perk.
One of the strengths of swf are their ability to know who is saving and who should stay on gens.
Solo don't have this information and are less efficient because of it.

Maybe people who have ds active should have some kind of aura when they are down or in a locker?
So you don't need to keep a timer
Doesn't solve the problem of being immune for 60 seconds no matter what.
Doesn't stop it being used against the killer to prevent downs or getting easy hook saves with ds/bt combo.
It needs to be turned off if you are saved from a hook and someone else is put on a hook, simple.

I bet I can run your Huntress for minimum 2 minutes. And I'm not that good as survivor, if I call a good one he runs you for 4 minutes.
I expect that that you're some low hours players that haven't played much Huntress. Probably not even killer.
Huntress needs a lot of practise to be functional against survivors that know what they are doing. Most Huntresses doesn't have that lvl. If you get stomped every time maybe it's because your own gamer flaws.
I don't doubt you could run me for 4 minutes, like i said my hatchets go through survivors because my ping is to good.

Except they will. They have literally said, recently, that that's exactly what they're planning to do.
They have already failed by keeping kindred as a perk, so i doubt they will do anything worth mentioning about the issue within the next 5 years other than meaningless qol bs.

@Star99er said:
It’s not cheating and there’s nothing wrong with it. Majority of SWF groups use comms (almost all of them depending on which platform you’re on). The game already has a relatively low playerbase, getting rid of comms would just kill the game completely.
It is cheating, just the devs can't do anything about it and survivors bring in the cash so they allow it.
The game is clearly not balanced around it, perks like knockout and effects like blindness make this painfully obvious as it does nothing against swf but destroys solo survivors.
-
They need to fix it by buffing solo to swf level, and then buffing killer to compensate for it.
But they won't because they know that much information breaks the game and survivors want killer to be the play thing.
-
@DepressedClownMain said:
Well I personally cant chase a person, down them, hook them and go back to a person that was previously hooked, down them and pick them within 1 minute. But hey, if you are that good you can just swallow the ds and down the person lile 5 seconds later
Usually happens when the survivor is stupid and runs into you or runs to an empty area, but you as the killer get punished for their stupidity/mistake.
Totally fair (if you play nothing but survivor and are bias af)
-
@Blueberry said:
Tired of people posting about bad Huntress hitboxes. There is nothing wrong with her hitboxes. It is entirely ping related. The dev stream explains the hatchet hitboxes very clearly. I know you mentioned ping as well, but the hitbox stuff shouldn't be included.
Well they need to do something, it is seriously frustrating having low ping and mostly always being at a disadvantage vs huntress users...
On the flip side, when i play huntress, the slightest wiggle left or right will cause the hatchet to miss, or occasionally go through the survivor.
-
@OnryosTapeRentals said:
A killer with a kill ratio of over 50%.
Perfect game balance would be two survivors escape and two die every match. Although this is, in practice, obviously not possible.
You can't balance on survival rates until is actually has meaning. if i know i have enough to pip, i will do stupid things and not care if i die.
survival is a bonus, not a requirement, while killing is a requirement for the killer.
-
Would be nice if we could still see the killers ping.
-
Because it is "FUN" for the highest paying customer to be invincible for 1 minute and stun the killer long enough to reset any chase to a safe location
TLDR survivors buy more cosmetics so the game is handed to them to keep them happy.
-
@BigTimeGamer said:
imo this may seem like a bad idea but if ruin was built into the game itself, it would not only cut down on gen times immediately without effecting the upper ranks much while also freeing up what is usually a hard-lock of a perk
a simple band-aid fix that may have negatives to it, but given BHVR's track record for their content release schedule, it's prob the most likely to be done without taking over a year
(people also really just need to stop being afraid of ruin)
It wouldn't be considered "FUN" for their top PAYING customers. so it will never happen.
Just like they can edit the engine.ini to make the killer stain larger and brighter and stream it without worry.
If a killer had a way to make survivors loud af and bright white, they would be banned instantly or it would be patched within a day of discovery.
-
Survivor can't get any more casual than it already is.
-
@laurelstroodle said:
Devs are just adding usseles perk to the game, I dont see how they want to "shake" both sides metas if they keep making trash perks.
And if they touch meta perks they better buff the 200 bad one.
The only way to "shake the meta" is to make new perks that are extremely overpowered and heavily detrimental to the killer with zero input or effort from the survivor, like mettle of man was.
Or nerf the already overpowered extra life perks that are currently used.
-
Dead hard is essentially a mori vs nurse, causing each survivor to require 3 hits to down.
She is now the same as any killer, the survivor must make the mistakes and the killer has no say. couple that with her non existent map pressure thanks to the double cd and that every map is good against nurse because she doesn't require pallets to stall, and you have a bad killer.
There is a reason she has become a unicorn in this game.

I played as rank 8 Wraith on Ormond. Didn't tunnel or camp at all, had everyone on death hook, got one kill, 23Kbps, entity displeased. Next two games, I was pissed off, so I tunneled. Both 4K games, ruthless and merciless. Played another match as plague, gens done in under 5 minutes and I tunneled just to get a single kill.
On the flip side, I played survivor at rank 9. Did one gen on my own, did one totem, got one unhook, half of a heal, three short chases and I died. 10KBPS, Black pip.
How is that remotely fair? I work my butt off as killer, play "fair", and get punished for it. Barely do anything as survivor and it's still a draw. Killers tunnel because they feel they have to, because of the gen speeds and the emblem system. Fix that and the majority of camping/tunneling will go away.
In b4 a "trusted" or dev post saying "it's not about the pip, having "FUN" is how you win"
It can't be kills for killer because that would be unbalanced if they got more than 2 right?
-
If i can make it to red ranks and maintain red ranks as a solo potato, ANYONE can make it to red ranks as survivor.
Survivor is to easy and killer is to stressful and difficult (mostly the emblem system)
a "balanced" 2 kills is a depip as a red rank killer
I pick my nose and pass wind as survivor and pip.

@FearlessHunter said:
Honestly the change that they SHOULD have done (aside from the add-on changes of course) was to decrease her lunge range.
Back when the nurse was first released she had a really short lunge like Tier 1 Myers. I think they should have changed the lunge back to what it used to be rather than the base kit change we received. Her lunge rn makes it so she can recover if she's a bit too far from the survivors and still hit them which is a bit BS when you have a killer who requires precision. That's like if Huntress could suddenly turn her hatchets into a boomerang if she missed so they can hit the survivor on the way back.
Do you even play her? her post blink lunge is already shorter than normal killer lunge..
-
i open it to force the other survivors to leave so we dont go from 3 escape to 3 dead 1 escape.
-
The only thing needed to encourage healing, are killers that are actually a threat and can't be stalled all game by running in a circle and dropping a plank of wood.
These killers keep getting nerfed tho so what can you do?
-
If they are hiding it, then it can't be good.
-
Escape is just a bonus and is literally not important.
This is why balancing the game around a metric that is as meaningless as surviving is bad.
do 1 gen, save someone and heal, get chased, PIP.
-
All these arguments of CoUNtErpLay! boils down to this.
I can't 1v1 the nurse for 3-5 gens solo so she is unbalanced.
Survivors can't grasp that there are 4 of them and only 5 gens to do while the killer essentially is versing 12 survivors since they require 3 hooks each.
We need to give this game the same win condition as identity V
-
Been playing more survivor because it is relaxing and easy. I just wish the bp gain was the same as killer as that is literally the only reason i will ever play killer.
