  • Come to the realisation that there is nothing YOU can do to win the game and that it is up to them to screw up.

Just enjoy the fact that you probably made more bp by losing using bbq then they did winning by gen rush.

It only takes 8 or 9 minutes for a single survivor to do 5 gens. There is zero excuse for the game to still be going by the 10 minute mark.

  • Red light should stay but be made harder to see and fix the damn walls so it doesn't shine through them. Also fix engine .ini so it can't be fiddled with and used to cheat.

Personally I believe the current system is flawed. But I honestly think that there needs to be some sort of way for survivors to fight back to a certain degree. Your job is to get hooks, their job is to do gens and not get hooked. They also get rewarded for some how actually managing a save.

I don't really consider risk of being stun saved to be an issue. As this shouldn't happen often to any competent player.

Hook being sabotaged might happen though on the PTB that goes by pretty fast.

A game without borrowed...or DS. I don't usually get hit by borrowed or DS from my playstyle as I usually go after the unhooker if borrowed would effect me. DS sometimes hits me if I am too quick though in downing them though. I understand they are frustrating, especially at end game, where you probably already had a bad game. But I also think they should be in the game from a survivors stand point. Too many killers camp and tunnel, and that feels pretty horrible when it happens to me, and usually just makes games boring when it happens to others.

The other stuff I don't actually think matters, it's mostly BT, and DS. It's kind of like this really...you doing stuff that sets off BT and DS to be constantly being bothered by it feels incredibly toxic to the survivor side, so they get powerful tools and allows them to be toxic right back because of it. Blame all them camping, tunneling killers for it existing.

Slugging is really strong, I have no issues with slugging as a survivor, or playing as killer. It's easy pressure, especially if it's the one on the hook, one on the ground, and one in a chase strat. Survivors basically aren't doing anything, and BT, and DS also aren't a factor. It does get boring when a killer manages to end the game in 1 minute thanks to their one shot potential and infectious luck. But I'm sure the reverse is true if the gens get rushed to oblivion before they got really started. Both as of right now are basically a black pip, or possibly even a de-pip for both survivors and killers, so it isn't really good for either side.

DS does need to be in the game, but they need to actually make it an anti tunnel perk. It should deactivate if the killer plays "correctly" and hooks someone else.

  • SWF is fine if they balance for it.

They need to give all aura reading perks to survivors baseline, and highlight with a nice bright pink glow all totems and traps that are visually seen or touched by a survivor to everyone else.

We need to add a HE IS CHASING ME! mechanic with a map wide bright red survivor that all but the killer can see, that instantly turns yellow when chase is dropped.

Do this so solo survivors are almost up there with the information swf have and then we can balance killers around it.

Ps4 and PC only have Dedicated servers...? Uh... You mean All platforms have servers.. Cause I play Xbox and we have the worst servers (when playing survivor). So every platform has servers... so I don't know what you are talking about.

Plus... if you are new to the game How the old matchmaking without the servers worked was as so:

    •Killer's connection = 25 to 15 minute wait

    •Survivor load times = 5 to 15minutes

•Latency is based off of Killer's ping.

    Heres how new matchmaking works:

    •Killer = Instantly (within 1-3secs) finds a match with 4 survivors.

    •Survivor = Instantly (within 1-3secs) finds a match with 3 Survivors and 1 Killer.

•Latency is based off the Server's ping (which is definitely not optimized for consoles at the current moment)

I even noticed the differences. They are subtle, but you weren't lied to. The servers are indeed here.

This went right over your head.

There is no server based in Australia for x box

    Aussies have 200 ping.

dude, i NEVER know where the survivor is if i cant physically see them. ive lost survivors right in front of me.

i was being told to listen for the footsteps when i get blinded, but i cant really hear any footsteps so thats a useless suggestion i received lol.

The pain noises helps immensely when i try to locate people, if i could hear footsteps, it would be so great

Devs attempted to shadow nerf sounds when the plague or legion came out i can't remember what one.

They accidentally went the wrong way and killers could "easily" hear survivors breathing, grunts, groans and footsteps during chase.

Survivors cried and cried and also did the usual "I'm a killer main and i think this is bad" post (because you can't check achievements on here) so the devs instantly caved because their survivor cash flow was in danger.

The next update they said they ADJUSTED sound, note that they didn't say they FIXED the sound bug.

And here we are... silent survivors ever since.

  • Just give solo all the detection perks baseline and you are nearly on par with swf, just missing the do X now part.

  • Depends where they put the breakable walls and how long it takes. or how many you can break before you are locked out.

  • Same as always.

Introduce massive buff to survivor or nerf to killer, attempt to mask buff/nerf with nice but somewhat pointless "buffs" that don't change anything.

    Plague buff? apple always existed.

    Trapper buff ????????

toolbox "nerf" they still speed up generators and now they do it faster ! 4 survivors, 5 gens, 4 tool boxes gg

I predict unhookable survivors will make a return with this update. they seriously needed to scrap sabotaging hooks entirely.

Imagine if a killer could kick a gen and make it so it can't be repaired for 2 minutes each time, that is what sabo will do.

Only problem with this is the player count. I would be 100% down for a ranked and casual mode, but the queue times are already bad enough. The player count would have to increase, or they enable cross play for this to work out

We only need killer count to increase, not player count.

Tbh since i started playing this game it is so rare to have games with 4 man swf, And even if it is not always they are good they maybe just friends wants to have fun times together. Usually solos or 2 man swf.

It is dark times i agree, but because the DServers not any other reason.

    Wish i had your population.

It is mostly swf for me, the same teams over and over and over. mixes of 2-4 man, but all are equally annoying to impossible to go against.

  • No, the dev's need to make kindred baseline, and buff solo survivor to swf level in general.

Using this perk makes them think they have done something right while they have not.

  • The bs given by bhvr pr department, is that it was easier to track someone doing 1m at a time so they could ban them.

I doubt they have actually done it.

  • Because EAC is literally useless and this game is to easy to cheat in.

People were giving themselves millions of bp and unlocking everything in a day, so the devs had to cap it.

  • A single survivor only takes 8 minutes to do all gens. I don't know how survivors ever lose tbh.

  • I guess this is good against solo potatoes?

  • @Mert_MK said:

    No.

If i see teammates crouching at the corner of the map and not do gens at all after a long chase, i'm not going to stay in that match.

    This, so much this.

  • oh well, let the game go back to 30 minute wait times i guess.

  • @fengsad said:

And if you get a dumb teammate it messes the game for everyone, but that isn't penalized. Meanwhile my 1500 hour self crashes a few times in a 10 hour stretch and my penalties keep increasing. Makes no sense. As i've said before, make it a percentage of games not just a number in a 24 hour period. Right now it penalizes people who play a lot and crash a few times, and doesn't penalize people who play hardly at all and DC every game. Stupid.

    Fix your pc.

I am running this on 10 year old hardware without crashes.

  • @thrawn3054 said:

Yes, but now I'm stuck trying to rank up again with these idiots.

and you were stuck with "these idiots" when everyone and their dog was bunched up in red ranks. at least now you can just use them to tick off your pip check list and get away from the potatoes.

  • 5 gens, 4 survivors, 80 second completion time

1 killer, 12 hooks, large maps, broken game mechanics, to many safety nets.

  • This is what always happens when the survivors don't get their way.

This is also why we say killers complain more, because their issues never or very very slowly get looked into or updated, while survivors come down like a sledge hammer in one massive group and get their way within a week, leaving nothing to really complain about.

  • I just played this game on an amd A10-5700 APU. that is dedicated graphics built into the cpu chip on an 8 year old cpu.

If i can play on that, and not get a crash, you need to pay someone to look at your pc.

  • @EmpireWinner said:

I know mm is broken af as of now, but it seems that you're adapting each time. Until the new mm comes, try to learn survivor's moves and play style.

    nice joke.

  • Good idea, bhvr didn't come up with it so will never be implemented.

Does not solve time waste on huge maps like mothers dwelling so is still useless on them.

Dead Hard is balanced. Assume everyone has Dead Hard and bait the swing.

A nerf shouldn't make perks dogshit. It should fix it from being in a broken spot to a balanced one.

Have you seen what they do to killer perks and sometimes even killers?

  • Only killers should have to use their brain and keep timers on things.

Survivors just want to hold m1 on gens and chat with their swf buddies or interact with twitch chat with no thought or interaction required while playing surv.

Don't you now who this game is catered towards and balanced for?

  • @McLightning said:

So, the person above me, what they are conveniently (to fit their narrative) forgetting is that yes, DCers were punished, which was great. However, there are people who suffered from bugs that have been in the game for years, including the infinite loading screen glitch, stuck in healing position glitch, stick in a tree glitch etc....all of these things forced people to either kill the DBD process or disconnect. They were then punished. For something they had zero control over.

So to answer your question truthfully, unlike the person above me, they removed the penalties so they can fix the things that cause people to get punished for no fault of their own, because you can not implement a system like this if innocent people end up as collateral damage.

AKA we will never ever have a dc penalty, so quit all the games you want (as long as you are not killer)

Some of these bugs were present during the test, but have since been fixed or lessened.

I can't remember the last time i had an infinite loading screen or stuck on a tree/ healing position.

  • They removed the DC penalty because it was biting the hand that feeds them

Survivors are the cash cow of the game. The WHALES as the industry calls them.

I guess they saw a heavy decline of survivors and high ban rate so they scrapped the entire idea and literally did a 180, and are starting to cater more to the survivors.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I think survivors should have had a unique only to them perk or skill. They are all just skins right now, all the same.

Everyone will just play the op character. we already see this with claudette.

  • @ClickyClicky said:

It’s nowhere near as bad as old DS. People that say this forget just how bad old DS was.

I very rarely ever get hit by new DS. If its affecting you that much then you need to look at the way you play. You should only be getting the od one every couple of games at most if you’re truly not tunneling.

you may not get hit by ds but you do slug them.

DS is affecting you if you do or don't pick them up as they got a second chance either way.

There is a way to balance it between SWF, killer and solo survivor, only depend on dev want to do or not.

    1. Rework perk that is overpowered when abuse by SWF -> OoO
    2. In game chat / comm -> for solo survivor.
    3. rework those big map to smaller map + rework god loop into normal loop.

There, the game will be more balance.

knockout and blindness needs to go as it destroys solo and does nothing to swf.

  • And they have still done literally nothing since they first announced this plan.

  • New ruin is a huge success!

It does NOTHING and that was the intended goal of the gutting.

Rank 20 can now do gens in peace (rank 20 do gens LOL)

  • This happened to me yesterday, only they were green purple and red.

I did 3 full gens and half a gen solo.

But it doesn't so go adapt and get the feel of the appropriate range to shock.

I don't know man, i just stood on this ramp and spammed vault and got nothing till i was half way on the flat section.

low ping should not be a punishment.

  • @Amygdala said:

There's also a bit of Window vacuum there so you can smash the button to vault and you would be able to do so.

Honestly it's why you should use some range add ons to interrupt that nonsense faster otherwise Survivor would just smash their keys before they actually get shocked.

but it should cancel the window vacuum.

  • Oh they will, he will probably turn to single hit with the chainsaw and a cooldown or refuel mechanic.

Not to mention snort and wheeze so he can't insidius any more

  • Requires actual thought and development, that's why.

The focus is on rank 20 and the cash shop atm.

  • The only reason to play killer is for bbq blood points, otherwise i would play survivor.

  • I agree with op,

We need to just delete killer players and replace them with AI because they don't bow down and kiss my feet.

They also need to make the ai extremely stupid and unable to walk around rocks so i can distract it all game while afk.

Who knows, the way the devs are balancing the game they just might do this.

  • You clearly have nothing better to do and have no hardships in your life OP.

He can be what ever you fantasize, not everything needs to be set in stone and not everything should.

  • I love the comments in this thread.

Pfft OTZ made one mistake and tunneled someone at the start. what a NOOB, it is his fault he almost lost.

Meanwhile the survivors failed miserably and hardly got a single loop in. But OTZ is the scrub right? not the survivors that relied on their 3 base lives + the second chance perks adding more lives.

  • It is harder to get a "perfect game" as survivor because you need to compete with 3 other people for points. you can go multiple games (especially now) where the killer only hooks one or two survivors, you can't max out your emblem with that.

  • @Fibijean said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1063269#Comment_1063269

I suspect it might be a monitor brightness issue. I have no problems with it on mine - it's darker than most other maps, but not to the extent that I find it difficult to make out objects because of it.

Are you using a TN panel that is washed out compared to IPS monitors?

The map is dark AF with correct black levels (black=black and not grey)

  • Looks like a normal game to me.

Not everyone gets squishies 90% of the time they play like many streamers seem to..

  • They "fixed" it mighty quick when the music was quiet and killers could hear survivors. I think it only took them a week if that.

There is no sound bug, the language used the first time this "bug" appeared was "ADJUSTED sound" you don't say ADJUSTED when you FIX a problem. They always intended to make survivors almost silent and it is obvious when you look at how it works.

Not in chase? you can hear survivors walking and rustling grass or breathing

    In chase? silence..

I think they nerfed sound so they can make custom chase music and have it work the same no matter how quiet it is.

Look at the new chase music for the doctor compared to the base chase music, if they didn't destroy sound, you would be able to hear survivors way easier on the doc compared to hillbilly for example.

That doesn't mean it doesn't give you a second chance when it does. Good killers will ensure that DS and sometimes even BT never come into play as well.

Leaving a survivor on the ground means ds did its job and it came into play by giving them a chance to be picked up

Picking up a survivor with ds means ds came into play as they will jump off your shoulder.

A single survivor running ds automatically gives the other 3 survivors ds because the killer has no information to determine if they have it or not.

DS comes into play the second a single survivor equips it.

The only way to prevent BT is to magically get 32m away from the hook before the guy hiding in the bush rips them off the hook.

Using BT within 32m of the killer instantly puts it into play even if the killer doesn't chase because they know there is no point.

Waiting out the BT timer still serves its purpose because it is long enough to reach pallets or god window and allows the survivor to stall more time while everyone else holds m1 on gens.

Dead hard, when used correctly for distance to extend chases and reach pallets they they should not be able to get to can't be prevented by the killer.

I am sorry, but even good killers can't prevent second chance perks coming into play.

  • You can't, the devs have removed match making and are in the process of giving us a new way of matching players that will be hidden and impossible to determine where you are being placed.

AKA they are going to hide ranks and chuck everyone in one gigantic pool with zero match making.

1 … 4 5 6 7 8 … 14
