youtube, twitch, livestreams, forums. Its all available. People win and lose all the time across the platforms, as is normal.

But if you're not going to listen to anyone besides those in your own echo chamber there's not much to say.

Like I said, that's the kill rate across the whole game. We know that in lower skill matches the kill rate is very very high. To balance it out, the kill rates for mid and high MMR have to be quite a bit lower.

If we want the game to be anywhere near balanced at higher brackets we need the kill rate higher than 50% because at low levels killers get 4ks all the time, skewing the % by a decent amount.

Ideally we'd get an MMR breakdown but that's not what we got.

"But if you're not going to listen to anyone besides those in your own echo chamber there's not much to say."

"I can easily say the people complaining about solo que are just entitled survivor mains that need to git gud if I want to be a brick wall.

There's no point in opening a conversation if you're only going to listen to the side that already agrees with you and discredit everyone else."

    ???

How ironic since that is exactly what you are doing 😂

  • You intend to practice against the bots for the entire time?

Even if it's a bad match you can most of the time get AT LEAST 20k+ points with incentive up. I only get like 4-5k when I get tunneled out at the start which happens more often now but definitely not all the time.

It does? Cause the change just put his arms inside of his box I believe so if he is grabbing you from far away either the killer is lagging or you are lagging

I don't think any lagging can be involved if I'm standing around the corner for a while already. Sure lag can play a role if you're running to a corner but not when you're already there.

Ironic that you think I take the game seriously just because I face camp you, which I literally do for fun, all the while you rage about it on the internet and put up very defensive barriers to your communication. Seems legit.

I do not care if you are good or not, you were going to get camped because you were the first down. Nothing personal, kid. A face camp God does not concern himself with your state of mind as he face camps you. Just enjoy the beating on hook, it is a privilege to be beaten by someone as adept at face camping as ThiccBuddha.

    you need professional help.

  • Like I said,

The perks hasn't been changed since 2.x

Yes I am informed, and it makes no difference

    8token pre 6.1 - 1.8second

    8token post 6.1 - 1.62

Are you seriously complaining about 0.18 sec?

  • @TheycallmeLix said:

I see this perk almost in every game and it’s getting to the point where you have no distance and your down immediately. It’s unfun and going for unhooks usually is impossible since Killers already have (10% STBFL basekit). The stacks should be lowered to 3 or 4 stacks max. What does everyone think of the perk, balanced or needs to get nerfed?

This perk in its current state has been in the game since 2.1 and nobody ever complained about it.

why all of a sudden it’s a problem?

  • who cares about visuals.

you obviously missed some things in reading 1, this wasn't them going down in the same deadzone this was 3 of them in the same SMALL map, Secondly assuming a 1-1 comparison between 2 sides in asymmetrical game like DBD is error, counterplay should be a factor, survivors always having loops in every place on a map would be overpowered. Equally skilled killers to survivors especially with voice chat which the game is not balanced around then more times than not a loop will equal enough time wasted for most killers to lose a gen. your thinking in terms of 1v1. in Asymetrical games balance means that the team as a whole should match the strength of the one on the other side. if you eliminate deadzones for survivors then you have to eliminate strong tiles also to balance it out. As I said above I am not looking to eliminate all deadzones, just a way to ensure that on such a small map especially one that is survivor sided heavily without them to not have 3.

I said in my game they were going down in the same deadzone.

I don't know, I probably missed something because you're not using paragraphs. Hard to read a giant wall of text.

This is extremely frustrating, not being able to dodge lobbies like this:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/UEDI9U3KV5RE/image.png

DBD is barely functional with a 40 ~ 90 ping.

LOL. The game is perfectly playable in everything below 100 ping. If FPS games are, DBD should be ok as well. Also, 40 ping is pretty average for this game so I don't know what your problem is.

  • @ryokoryu said:

Ok after the game I just played in which only one person had boil over she went down in a deadzone after I knew it was there and where the closest hook was. She was the second down on the game map. Now I downed 5 people and got 1 hook. Not flashlight saves and not boil over hiding hook auras, there was 3 deadzones in the map where all the hooks were upstairs and the stairs up were far enough away that they would wiggle out by the time I got there. First down was in this first deadzone 2 gens pop 0 hooks I tried to get her to the closest stairwell and the hook at the top of it but no go she got out as I got to the stairs. Down 2 happens in the same spot and I knew where the other 4 were (healing at the boon) so I pick her up and drop her immediately because boil over. Third down in another deadzone and again all hooks upstairs different side of the downstairs 2 gens pop still 0 hooks due to deadzones and this means 0 pressure 1 gen left, 4th down I avoid a Flashlight save and get my first hook of the game, just in time for the final gen to pop, chase down the flashlight A-hole and downstairs to a different section with yet another deadzone. Tried to get them to the closest hook which was downstairs this time but wiggle out and body blocks for the 4 out. How is this possible? I mean this was obviously an RNG screw to me but this is seriously bad. So my hope is to get some sort of healthy discussion on how to solve this issue the 4 items brought were medkits x3 all green and 1 green flashlight built for battery life with all the associated perks. nobody brought sabbo. they did bring 2 leaderships and 2 prove thyselves.

Someone was trying to get value out of a perk. What's your point?

Boil over is rarely useful recently especially that majority of the time hooks are 5 steps away from each other. Even when I try to die near a broken hook there's another one just around the corner.

    Also...

If survivors can have dead zones with no pallets or tiles then why killers can't?

EDIT: Also if you are aware of a dead zone and you see a survivor running there knowing they have BO, maybe drop the chase and go for someone else? Or just slug.

I actually recently had a funny and goofy game with a SWF, all with no mither and boil over, all running to the corner of the map. It ended with all of them being slugged in that corner and playing DBD version of whack a mole when they were trying to pick themselves up xD it was hilarious.

to me destroying is getting a 4k without all gens being done or 4k super quick

And you expect a gg after that? Maybe in the first scenario sure, but fast 4k is far from a GOOD GAME for survivors...that's probably the worst because if the match goes this fast they leave with barely any BPs.

  • @AshInTheTallGrass said:

    I couldn't.

I couldn't first time, claimed again, got different code and it worked.

  • The result of these changes: The average kill rate (percentage of all Survivors killed) rose by about 8%. This leaves Killers- on average- within a range that we’re comfortable with, making them deadly, but not oppressive.

More tunneling and camping. That's really the only visible result.

Also, please tell me the Self-Care thing is a joke...

  • No, but wasting killers time while other can hold the m1 is.

I doubt they were so close that all 3 gens was within a plagues puking distance if she stood in the middle of them. Its just a cat a mouse game of 2 survivors continuously run back and forth between the 2 farthest gens. Plague on her own isn't much of a threat but if you guys cleansed near there giving her red puke it becomes much harder but then you can wait it out.

Either way its not completely unbeatable considering people have won 3 gens vs a hag which is arguably better than plagues at 3 gens unless they have a pool nearby.

What part of "super close" u didn't understand? Obviously it wasn't in a puking distance but it wouldn't take more than 20 seconds to go around all 3 of them.

It's not a cat and mouse game because she wasn't taking any chases if someone tried to lead her away from the gens.

  • @Chaos999 said:

You can't have someone banned because they won't let you win....

You can progress the game. Go in, try to finish the Gen, succeed or die trying.

In this scenario there was no winning option. All 3 gens were super close to each other. That's a forced 3gen with no counterplay.

Funny how all the NO comments are from killer mains.

  • @Brimp said:

Nope not in the slightest. They aren't preventing you from progressing the game (like body blocking the final 2 survivors in poorly designed corner) and vice versa. They just have an extremely advantageous area that spawned while they played plague. Now if either of your teammates, you and the plague did nothing to progress the game then I guess it could possibly be taking the game hostage.

    Again,

care to explain how are survivors suppose to complete one of those gens then if they can't counter it from the start of the game? She literally dropped every chase from the start once someone left the area.

  • Thanks for your extensive and deep response. Care to explain how survivors are suppose to counter this if those 3 gens are super close to each other and they don't even get a chance to break it from the start of the game?

  • It all boils down to, once again, to Weskers playing like a...Tunneling and camping Weskers have been a flavor of this new chapter since launch. Happens less often now but you know...what else is new?

  • @SuzuKR said:

Then you are the problem. If you have a problem with some part of the game, take it up with devs respectfully. If you take it out on the other players by disconnecting, suiciding on hook, AFKing, sandbagging, etc, you are the problem in that game.

Blatant cheater holding a game hostage? Sure. Game-breaking bug like being permanently stuck in a hill? Sure.

Because you dislike the map? Because you dislike the other side's build(s)? Because you dislike the other side's character(s)/cosmetic(s)? Because you dislike something that happened in the game (eg, downed early/flashlight saved/gens done quickly/etc)? Because of literally any other non-cheater/game-breaking bug reason? You are the problem.

There's a really, really easy solution if you hate facing a part of this game that badly. Don't queue up.

By DCing/suiciding/AFKing/sandbagging/etc, you are actively ruining this game for the other 4 players just because you are incapable of handling facing some part of this game. Sure, you paid for this game for your own fun and aren't responsible for others, blah blah blah. But guess what? If every single person gave up the second they faced a part of the game that wasn't how they wanted it, you would not be getting to play out any games either.

Want to take up what you see as an issue with devs respectfully? Sure, go for it. All the power to you. When you're in a game? Either suck it up buttercup, or don't queue up at all. If you care that little about the experience of anyone except yourself, go play a single player game and don't ruin the game for the people that are mature enough to play through a match they queued up for.

    Ah yes...

Next time we are all slugged and left to bleed out I'll stay in the match to keep others company. I wouldn't want to ruin all the fun.

If people want to leave a game, they just kill themselves.

Pretty obvious if you've been playing killer even somewhat frequently. Perhaps come up with a better solution, because this one does nothing. Maybe penalize people who kill themselves on purpose. Good luck with figuring out that code though.

Fix your internet and then play online games instead of ruining the matches for other people. How bout that?

  • @AbsolutGrndZer0 said:

Okay, so this is to those that disconnect on purpose. Those that don't do this, we can speculate why and say that it's pointless and only hurting yourself and your team all we want, but... that's not what I am making this post for.

Those of you who disconnect on purpose already know the consequences of doing so all too well, so... why do you do it?

Because I can't stand playing 2453687th game in a row against Wesker. Hearing his terror radius makes me want to vomit.

I usually just suffer through it but I'll leave myself 1 DC a day when I get really frustrated. That usually happens around 53787th wesker game or when I finally get a different killer and it's a Thana Legion.

Sometimes I switch to killer for a bit but today that didn't end well because on my meme fun Myers build I was being chained blinded by two Neas over and over so I just left.

    Any other questions?

EDIT: fun fact. I found the same Nea couple games later on my Demo game. She got completely devoured by our boi Demo while the 2 remaining survivors got a free escape. I got my revenge so I feel better now and not planning to DC for the next 24 hours.

The reason is because he can close the distance really fast by using his power. If his power didn’t have mobility he would have normal terror radius.

I know it sucks being the person on hook but the worst thing you can do in that situation is suicide. Stay alive as long as you can, meanwhile others smash out gens.

Worst case scenario if another person gets hooked you can go for double save once gates are up.

I think you're misunderstanding the post (unless I'm also misunderstanding the post.) Survivors hate killers that can't be looped traditionally because being unable to loop is boring. Killers hate M1s with no antiloop tools because running in circles waiting for someone to drop a pallet so they can move onto the next tile and do the same thing is boring.

It's an asymmetrical game. What's fun for one side is usually the inverse for the other.

I was replying directly to your comment.

Looping is more than just running around waiting for pallet to drop. There are many tools/mindgames to make looping fun.

The only reason why Killer would hate on no anti loop tools would be just being bad at chases. Looping is bread and butter of this game, there's a reason why every map has 525234 structures built just for that.

Some survivors don't like anti loop killers because in a way it's breaking/ignoring the rules of the game and can be frustrating to play against (aka Nurse). Tho I personally don't have a problem with anti-loop killers. With couple of exceptions majority has some sort of counterplay.

You’re welcome to run whatever you want. But for reasons previously discussed by myself and others, you are throwing by cleansing dull totems outside of a few scenarios. For that reason I would advise not running perks that require cleansing dull totems. Plenty of other non-meta options for you that fit that criteria.

So if someone is running Cleansing build and is cleansing a dull totem they are throwing? Oh please enlighten us how is that throwing?

  • @Toaster427 said:

A significant majority of survivor challenges cause survivors to "throw the match".

The most optimal way a survivor team can win a match is by doing generators when they are not being chased, taking turns running the killer, the healthiest survivors making saves, and only cleansing totems when it's significantly impacting the match.

    That's the game.

However, survivor challenges are counter-productive to this. Totem/sabo/chest challenges have survivors cleansing all over the map when they should be doing gens, save challenges have people racing to the hook and unhooking immediately in front of the killer so the other teammates don't get it first, and chase challenges have people hogging the attention of the killer until dead.

On top of all of that these guys go into a match with only the challenge in mind. They create a build that only focuses on sabos/totems/chests.

This game is a literal race for hooks/gens. And when you have even just one survivor on your team who is not focusing on objectives that matter, it impacts the whole team negatively.

Even people who play in a SwF will focus on primary objectives while playing with their friends, then switch over to solo queue to do challenges because they don't mind pissing off randoms to power through the challenges.

You can 100% argue that the challenges can be done naturally, but how often does that happen? To do a challenge naturally you would have to play 4 or 5 matches before you accomplish the task. Most people are not going to do that, they'd rather knock it all out in one go and move on to the next challenge.

What sucks is that BHVR could 100% fix this, but they continue to ignore it. For example every survivor challenge you could reduce the amount of tasks from five to two or even one. After you do that you place the "must escape out of the exit gates" for every single one.

In doing this, you completely remove this headache for solo queue and significantly improve the current state it's in. You will no longer have teammates who have conflicting objectives, every survivor will have a goal of escaping out of the exit gates since their challenges won't count if they don't.

    Hmmm...

I've never seen a challenge "crouch across the map while killer is far away" anywhere. Is it new?

Same for "avoid doing gens while hiding behind a rock outside of killer terror radius". That must be new as well.

Or "Unhook a survivor before the killer gets the chance to leave the hook".

  • @Tsulan said:

Whenever I read a complaint about boring killers, I instantly have to think about how interesting running in circles around a rock feels.

And yet chases are the most fun part of this game. If you consider that running around a rock then why are you playing the game? There are gen skill checks sims online!

  • @GoshJosh said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3183026#Comment_3183026

But you and your team are better off not running those perks, unless you have a Rift challenge to cleanse totems. Run a more impactful perk.

Who are you to tell people what perks to run? Running same meta perks over and over is boring. Just because you can't get value from off meta perks doesn't mean others can't.

  • @FallenNugget said:

I think the killers are weak.

Now, now, before you write something - hear me out.

I am a pretty experienced killer, Im good at loops, I know where everyone is constantly (thank you lethal pursuer), I usually score a hit on any chase, making sure they are short, I usually come out with 3k/4k. But when I bought Freddy, my games just became so much worse.

I started to think "What the hell, i'm literally doing the same thing as on other m1 killers, why am I losing? Freddy has teleports, which slow the gen progressing down, snares (or pallets), which make loops so much easier and shorter, and all the survivors are oblivious the whole game, yet I am still losing."

His teleports are useless since the animation is so long survivors are going to run aways making a 3km distance, you can fake, yeah, but 1) ~10 sec cooldown on tp afterwards, 2) Survivors are just going to continue doing the gen when they see you faked.

I thought that I'm just a noob on Freddy and I just dont understand his strenghts well, and then I equipped Pop Goes the Weasel...

So why? Why is Freddy so much stronger now? He is able to deliver pop literally to any gen if you manage to make a down and hook early. So that opened me eyes on the fact that the killer abilities are actually an assistance for perks. Isn't that supposed to be the other way around? Is there something I'm missing? Something I don't know about? And at that same time any Blight can kick asses only with an addon and no perks, and he is not even that hard of a character compared to nurse, while Pig needs to have 2 chase perks so that she can at least have a chance of winning a chase.

So why are most of the killers so dependant on perks? Are killers supposed to grind 2k hours to buy a character with a perk they need and they won't probably even play as that killer? Or buy them for real money? Don't even mention "shrine of secrets", I don't remember when was the last time something good was in there.

Killers are supposed to deal with boons, genrushing, healing, strong af medkits, flashies, chases, hooks, unhooks, their perks, a nice full discord survivor party. Why are certain killers so bullied? Patches aren't making that very easy as well, a 3rd healthstate? Seriously?

Maybe im just stupid and I dont understand something? Feel free to call me an idiot, just help me understand what's going on in this game, thanks in advance!

Some killers are more dependent on perks and addons than others. It's nothing new really.

  • @Pulsar said:

    Yes.

You do realize there are perks in this game that require you to cleanse totems, right?

  • I had a game against wesker today where he was trying to use his power and I was standing at the end of a loop behind an object. He zoomed alongside the wall and I still got sucked into his grasp animation. Like I'm all for bug free experience but the hitbox needs to go down a bit.

  • @brokedownpalace said:

Just played a solo queue match against a Blight. One of our teammates DC'd within 1 minute at her first down. We managed to do 2 gens then the killer sacrificed one of us and slugged the remaining survivors, went AFK and let us bleed out for 4 minutes. 👍

I'll enjoy the 5 second queues and +100% bloodpoints. You do you, man.

There should be really zero penalty for leaving if you're in dying state and not being hooked. It's literally just wasting other ppls time in this situation for no reason whatsoever (aka to entertain some 12yo that got probably rolled by SWF the previous game). As in no penalty or IDK option to just insta bleed out.

  • @Hensen2100 said:

You do realize that your chances of escape heavily rely on a team effort, right? Unless every game you play you just hope to get a hatch. SWF or not, playing DBD like BR is pretty much griefing. Honestly, people with attitude like yours are the reason why SoloQ sucks.

It really does seem that way. I recently purchased killers that I have no desire to play because I don't want to sweat while I practice. When the bots are implemented later this year, I can't tell you just how overjoyed I'll be, because I'll be perfectly content never hopping into a live, sweaty, toxic match ever again.

Wait, what? You want to play against bots all the time? What's the point?

I'm pretty sure they will implement a way of trying out different killers with bots to practice, not as a standalone single player mode. Like the bots in tutorial have negative IQ.

  • I feel ya. It's been really bad recently.

And I don't mind at all dying or getting only 1K...As long as the game is fun. But if I get tunneled out or camp from the start of the game and get out with like 6k BPs then that's just a waste of time.

    A) You should google what projecting means.

    B) Some toolboxes are pretty busted so I can see why survivor carrying one is a priority. Also if you're speeding trough gens then tunneling is necessary for killer to even have a chance.

Its true killer's don't play nice all the time but do you think survivors do? How fun do you think it is to lose 2 gens because they brought busted items? Or play for 12 hooks, get genrushed and told "Ez, baby killer" in the endgame chat?

TLDR: Don't blame only killers for "unfun" games

And yes, the person earlier straight up assumes that any person with a toolbox has a busted Gen rush build and needs to be tunneled out no matter what. Which I guarantee you is not the case 90% of the time.

Speeding through gens has nothing to do with it. I understand the concept of pressure etc, and if you're losing gens fast then I guess tunneling is a good bet.

But we're talking here about tunneling at 4-5 gens, right from the start of the match.

Nobody is asking to play for 12 hooks. And I wouldn't call toolboxes by themselves busted. I find it even odd complaining about gen rushing with the nerfs and so many good slow down perks available to killers now.

Yes killers don't play nice ALL THE TIME. And that's fine. The problem is they're not playing nice at all recently.

It got worse since the killer buffs it feels and I think that's coz they don't fear DS anymore and the rewards for camping ie gens take longer to less punishing. the gist of it in my post responses is that tunneling and camping is the most effective/easiest way to win. So I don't think it matters how many killer buffs there are, the majority will go for tunneling and camping coz that is still the easiest way. :/ I think people will play survivor less and killer q's will get longer.

See, it's kinda weird to me because killer is a walk on the beach right not without needing to hard tunnel like this. I've literally stopped playing killer after 6.1 because it was just kinda too easy/boring. And I never tunneled or camped unless when someone asked for it just for the memes.

So you'd think with all those killer buffs people will tunnel less because they can win matches by not playing like a douche...

If I see a survivor with a toolbox, they're getting hard tunneled from the jump. Odds are they have on the complete bs BtL hyperfocus stakeout , so no anti tunnel perks. You wanna tunnel gens, I tunnel you

    Lol. Projecting much?

So you tunnel them because of the gen perks they probably don't even have or you tunnel them because they don't have the anti-tunnel perks? Which btw do pretty much nothing.

Yes it's working as intended. It states once per hooking. Not once per hook state.

It literally says "per hook state" or hook instance, something like that.

  • "defend the basement" lol what a fancy way of saying "camping" xD

So if you were HALF across the map you would come back? I unhook when terror radius fades out but let's be honest, some killers can find 326875 excuses to hover around or in the vicinity of the hook. Especially Weskers these days since they can zoom back in split of a second.

I agree tho that fast vault is wrong, regardless of distance.

    Title.

I would personally like it and it would make me feel as though I have a chance against players who split gens, without being forced to run corrupt.

Considering Killer is now a walk on the beach No. And not all killers need that. It's a perk for a reason so killers who need it can use it. Making it basekit would make other killers even more powerful.

I would just have the Entity block all generators for the first 15 seconds of the match. Gives killer roughly enough time to locate the general area of a survivor.

The only indication of a Survivors location at the start of the match is the location of gens. If you block them all, survivors will just hide and wait it out and you will gain absolutely nothing from that.
