How about if someone DC during the first minute, gens required are adjusted accordingly (perhaps 1 gen per DC) ?

I feel like if one person dc's then the rest of the team should be able to DC without any matchmaking penalty.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I actually have a VERY easy to exploit guilty conscience, and if someone DCs 30 seconds into a match after I down them for making a dumb mistake?

I feel bad! I can't kill them anymore, i'd be worse than a murderer-- a jerk. I HAVE to let them go at that point. And that takes time!

So please cut it the hell out. For my sake. I don't want to queue up for another 5 minutes only to bump into the least committed player in DbD for the third time today.

It would be cool if they could just put a bot in to replace the dc or just the match ends coz 3v1 is rubbish. But I don't blame people for dc'ing. They're playing for fun and they're not having a good time. Your match where they DC for making a mistake is probably the last straw after a lot of matches of unfun games and they've had enough. There's also probably loads of reasons people DC not to do with rage quitting either. ie game crash, food delievery, popping to the loo, mum says get off the pc loool, making a youtube video and not getting the content they need! just guesses but I'm sure there's a lot.

This is just a little rant session... I am usually open to survivor behavior nowadays since it's solo queue and it's a mess... but when I'm really good at hiding and a survivor points me out to the killer and the killer kills me and lets the other survivor escape is when it gets ridiculous... I did 3 gens with another survivor, just me and him, on my recent game and I didn't get hooked once because I'm just good at hiding, I'm not gonna just give myself up to the killer... and a Meg (it usually always is) pointed me out while I tried to save the last survivor (while she did nothing the whole round, ended with 9k points +7.5k from hatch) and the killer hooks me, and lets the Meg farm me for points. I give this specific instance (minus the farming part) because it has happened to me a few times these past few weeks and it's quite annoying. The killer's defense was "I can't make her unhook you"... that's all he had. I guess you can't be good at hiding nowadays or else you're gonna get pointed out guys, so be aware when you play solo queue survivor!

    @Carth said:

The survivor team as a whole has 3 * 4 = 12 hooks between them. If one survivor is playing extremely cautiously and the others are getting stuck out in chase and being found by the killer then you have 9 hook states to share between the three. If your entire team is on death hook and you have not been hooked once the expectation is you go try to get the killer to chase you to keep your team having the most efficient 4x actions compared to the killer.

Agreed. I get that you wanna be stealthy all game but you're actually hurting your team by doing this. I'm not sure if you're the kind of team mate that unhooks a survivor then hides so if the killer comes back they chase the one that's unhooked. but the best you can do is try to show yourself to the killer if he comes back to the hook and if he's not in the mood for tunneling then he'll go for you instead.

  • You'd think. But no :/

  • Okay we're just talking killers right now. One thing at a time :)

The problem for survivors is no one likes to be camped to second stage / tunneled (early game). Some survivors like being tunneled for sure but no one likes being confirmed to second stage or even death.

No matter the killer buffs and gen slowdowns etc it seems killers will still go for the above because it will always be the easiest option. So that is what needs a solution. It needs to be punishing to their odds of winning and make it difficult to win that way.

I also think the more time a killer spends camping the less time they are spending in improving their gameplay skill ie chasing/decision making. Camping takes 0 skill and they're just not improving (again I'm talking about early game)

Something like Kinship base kit for 1st and second stage so survivors can do gens and leave asap (Maybe this can be a thing at 5,4,3 gens)

hooked survivor spawns to new location if killer camps for too long (I saw this in another post I thought it seemed like a good idea, again early game would be good).

    -----------

Maybe a points system and the win is decided by how many points either side get. - I don't think this would stop killers playing the same though.?

  • @shiroo said:

Is it Today? It feels like it's today. Literally EVERY SINGLE GAME maybe with 2 exceptions has been hard tunneling from the start of the match.

No way of getting killers attention, even giving them a free hit didn't help. Just hard tunnel the person that's been unhooked.

I know it's not killers job to make the games fun but it's also not their duty to make the game as miserable as possible for others...

I don't mind camping and tunneling from time to time but when it happens THIS often...There's no point playing. No wonder player numbers are so low now and Survivor queue has a perma 100% bonus.

I made a post about this earlier today. It got worse since the killer buffs it feels and I think that's coz they don't fear DS anymore and the rewards for camping ie gens take longer - so less punishing. the gist of it in my post responses is that tunneling and camping is the most effective/easiest way to win. So I don't think it matters how many killer buffs there are, the majority will go for tunneling and camping coz that is still the easiest way. :/ I think people will play survivor less and killer q's will get longer.

And we still can't agree with anything being said on this thread... that's why the game is the way it is

    But... here I go...

Base Gen regression is so low that Killers need 2 or more perks to cover it up

Maps are unbalanced (for both sides)

The fact that progression VS regression will be a thing till BHVR sees it... why kick a Gen when it takes 4 seconds of regression to equal 1 second of progression

Also removing a Survivor from the match is way more beneficial then to keep kicking Gens with Overcharge and Call Of Brine

Still good to hear peoples points of view :)

Well i can t blame them... The same reason survivors don t like the killer tunneling or camping, Killers don t like 2 or 3 gens pop up after 2 minutes of the trial start xD so.... I guess thats 50 50 xD

Killers will do it at 5 gens. Are you saying they maybe have had enough and do it by default now expecting gens to pop?

  • That's the point I'm making. Not everyone wants to play seriously aka comp mode. And I'm noticing more killers playing like this after the killer buffs and surv nerfs. I think if this carries on killer q times will get longer and longer. I have been put off playing survivor for a while.

Killer don't tunnel because DS was nerfed this is one of the most misguided thing people assume, It's actually because Killer's best slow down perks got nerfed to the ground to a point where they are useless. So before the perk rework you would get rewarded to go for hooks because you has ruin/pop to constantly create a snowball effect of slowing down the gens for hooking people but now you don't get anything from that and the gens fly so Killer's tunnel so that they get one person out of the game quickly to have a chance. Unfortunately BHVR didn't think about this when they decided to heavily nerf Corrupt/Pop/ruin

I disagree. You hear a lot of people say ‘ah I don’t care about the ds’ and pick them up etc. Where in the past they may have just left them slugged and gone for someone else or picked them up and lost the survivor.

corrupt is up for the same amount of time and only stops running when a survivor is downed. I don’t see how that’s bad.

jolt, pain res, deadlock, overcharge, merciless are all decent gen perks? And gens take longer now.

    I don’t see it.

Exactly why I don't talk about it.

"2 extra seconds. Not that big of a deal" that gives the survivor enough time to get somewhere safe so that they can 1v1.

1v1 should not be a thing in a 4v1 game.

You’re right it’s not a 1v1.. killers make it that way when they tunnel. Team mates can try and take hits solo or swf but if the killer wants you they want you. 5 second ds gives you a chance to turn it back to a 1v4.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/345135/reassurance-nerf

What's the point of playing killer if you can't have a kill each game? Just there to let survivors have fun while killer is t-bagged at the exit gates? The game has to be fun for killers, too. The fact that Reassurance is a perk at all is a good step in the right direction. Not to mention increasing the built in Borrowed Time effect (further boosted by just running the perk itself).

I don’t think reassurance should have been a perk to band aid fix camping. Especially a perk that you need to purchase. I understand that camping is needed sometimes and towards end game if you care about winning but let’s face it killers camp mostly when it’s not needed coz they’re playing comp mode. I feel like a kinship buff would have been better if any perk was going to be used. It’s free to everyone as an uncommon perk and it would be awesome if it worked for both hook stages to counter killers wanting to camp/confirm hook stages early game.

killers got a buff, gens take longer and gyms got nerfed too. I dont understand why killers still play like this! 🤦‍♀️

Hi, I main killer, currently having 2300 hours in the game, but with the new perks and wesky being pretty bug, I've playing a lot more survivor (majorly soloQ), and even though off the record is pretty strong if paired with sp or DS, if u get hit in the second u got out the hook it's kind useless. So to make tunell more punishing without making the fair cases where u need to tunell punishing here's my rework.

Using whatever is at hand, you stab your aggressor in an ultimate attempt to escape.

After being unhooked or unhooking yourself, Decisive Strike activates for the next 40/50/60 seconds:

    • When being grabbed or picked up by the Killer, succeed a Skill Check
    •  to automatically escape their grasp, stunning them for specific duration, this duration is determined by:
    • 5 GENERATORS: 7 seconds stun
    • 4 GENERATORS: 5 seconds stun
    • 3 GENERATORS: 4 seconds stun
    • 2 GENERATORS: 3 seconds stun
    • 1 GENERATOR: 2 seconds stun
    • Successfuly stunning the Killer will disable Decisive Strike for the remainder of the Trial and result in you becoming the Obsession
    •  .

While Decisive Strike is active, performing Conspicuous Actions will deactivate it for the remainder of the Trial.

Decisive Strike deactivates once the Exit Gates

     are powered.

Increases the odds of becoming the Killer's initial Obsession

The Killer can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.

I hope that with this change DS can prevent early tunell without hardly punishing a tunell that may be happening to preventing a guaranteed lost.

Please let me know hat do u thing about this change.

I really love this idea. Being tunnelled off hook at 5 gens is rubbish and the killer should be punished. It makes more sense to be tunnelled out later in the game so the reduced time makes sense.

and yeah you’re right getting hit off hook is really annoying when you have off the record.

I would like it to highlight what locker I'm in to other survivours within a radius of it, so I can use it more in solo queue to help others.

    I love this idea!

I don't get how it's so hard to add a UI indicator for what survivors are doing, I could boot up Roblox studio and figure that out in an hour, so why is it taking so long for this simple change? The annoying part about this is that this change needs to come first before SWF and Nurse can be dealt with, if you change either of those two things without addressing solo queue and weaker killers, the games gonna turn real bad for one side or the other.

    @Nathan13 said:

I think the BT basekit buff is all solos are gonna get. Probably won’t see anymore solo changes until the next anniversary.

have have promised any solo q buffs in future? And have they acknowledged the ds stun nerf was bad?

what am I supposed to do? leave the hook because the people are hiding and i KNOW they are there?

Do you know they’re there though? Sounds like you couldn’t find them? I don’t understand you being annoyed. They might just be wanting to have some fun and try out the new perk? :/

  • It isn’t a survivor failure if the killer downs one survivor then goes looking for the other. That has nothing to do with the survivor at all. That’s the killer playing like he’s going to win 20K if he gets a 4K. It’s so boring being slugged like that. I agree the killer should be punished / survivors should get some help for being slugging at end game when there’s 2 survivors left.
