She is difficult to play, mainly when you have no experience with her.
She is heavily penalized if the player can't succeed with her.
Survivors tend to have a cruel mindset when they face a Spirit player.
She is countered by a meta perk (Iron Will).
Players need to invest in a good headphone to be consistently good with her, as the sounds of the game are poor.
-
The devs that create the chase musics are the best. Every single chase music is a masterpiece!
-
Maybe because iridescent addons are meant to be strong? And not everything is a bandaid fix for players that don't want to learn, this is a very selfish way to see things.
I'm main Spirit too and I don't need to use these addons, but I have a friend that only now can play Spirit due to Cherry Dried Blossom, as she have hearing issues.
-
Each time you hook a survivor, you gain 1 Token, up to a maximum of 2/3/4 Tokens:
Your Terror Radius is reduced by 4 meters per accumulated Token.
BOOM!
An useful and fun relecture of the perk, and probably won't be used as much as the meta perks.
-
They seem to live in an alternate reality, it's baffling.
The are so many things the players are literally begging to be addressed for years, but they do not care.
What about the painful grind? What about the infamous stretched resolutions?
-
You trade 5 generators for 5 hits? How is that no op? 😂
-
BHVR is gonna argument they have a specific team to deal with dbd malfunctions, so no need to waste a whole chapter for health issues…
-
I completely agree with all you said.
But I like to express my very personal point of view about the current state of the game/killer role.
I think nothing is gonna change, for real. BHVR is not gonna innovate regarding killer gameplay. To me is clearly that they don't have a precise understanding of the killer role (at least is not the same as the community's understanding), as some decisions have fluctuated through time and many are contraditory till today. Instead, they understand precisely the survivor role and at least this is a good thing. They know what survivors need and which path they need to follow.
Meanwhile, DbD is a 5 years game. I want to say their intent now is to maintain the game alive and I do believe BHVR is working on new big projects that are different from DbD.
So what we have now, probably is what we will have for tomorrow.

Wraith. That elephant scream is scary but at the same time it's satisfying

There's no much choice honestly, half of the perks do not work with her, mainly after the nerf.
I tend to play with gen regression perks sadly, because survivors like to split on gens as soon as they realize it's a Spirit. So you need to slowdown the match to have a chance to play. (Corrupt, Ruin, Pop and Sloppy Butcher).
Buf if you don't care about slowdowns, there's some fun perks to try out.
Spies of the Shadows and Rancor helps you track survivors. Enduring with Spirit Fury is a nice combo to use on chases. Save the Best For Last is very good if you manage to not chase the obsession.
About addons, I like to use double duration (Shiawase Amulet and Kaiun Talisman). They help me to land more precise phases as I have more time to think and to hear the survivor 😂

This, it's insane the OP keeps trying the same thing especially when they know the the bill has Dead Hard.
Pro tip, flick your mouse up when baiting it out. 9/10 players will panic and think you're about to swing and use it early. It's the same trick as looking down or using Trapper's setting animation to bait out flashlight saves / fake pallet breaks.
Lol.
The survivor doesn't even need to see the killer to react to the swing. He can HEAR the swing and then DH. It's consistently a hit dodged.

@[Deleted User] said:
So you're complaining about the perk when 2/3 times in that video, if you would've just waited to swing, it wouldn't have been a problem? Neat!
And how do you asecure the survivor won't wait my swing????
-
@RainehDaze said:
The part where DH has moved from predictive to reactive was a massive buff even without the fact it's now accidentally eating powers. Iframes and distance turn out to be a super strong combo.
The worst is that I not only missed a hit, but I missed my power too, so I had to wait 15 seconds to try to use it again (and having the luck that the survivor does not have Iron Will).
-
DH, DS, Iron Will, Kindred
I like to use meta perks to boost stats...

Is that only if you would have gotten the full stun, or any time you use the flashlight? I did notice it when I Blast Mined a Billy recently, but at the same time, I'm always kind of shocked how long it takes for survivors to clue in that I'm using Lightborn when I bring it, and acting like you're afraid of the flashlights seems pretty effective in prolonging the ruse. OTOH, I only bring it if it's a full flashlight lobby (at that point it's just a QoL perk and a shield against Shenanigans), so there might be a bit of confirmation bias there - those survivors really want to use their flashlights.
I need to test, but I think it's only when the survivor would have gotten the full stun!

Scott had a decent short video on Lightborn the other day which made some good points
- The main downside as he sees it (and I think I agree) is that once the survivors know you have Lightborn they stop trying to blind you and go back to doing gens. Which is bad because overall the last thing you want is survivors being time efficient on the gens. You’re better off typically if they’re goofing around trying for flashlight saves of each other rather than sticking on gens. So it’s a rare example of a perk that actually entices survivors into a more effective playstyle for themselves.
- Now that being said, it does have some upside in that the survivors don’t know you have Lightborn until they try and blind you with a flashlight and fail. (They wouldn’t even know you have it if a Flash Bang or Blast Mine didn’t blind you, just if they see their flashlight beam isn’t narrowing all the way.) So odds are good that when (not even if, since it’s pretty common) a survivor ultimately tries to blind you you will get an easy hit or down on them in the process. They’ll only fall for it once, but at least you’ll get that one hit. And if they’re in a solo group, or just not paying attention, you might get multiple free hits. (But probably just the one. ) Is a free hit or maybe two worth a perk slot and having survivors stay on gens after? … Probably not. But it’s something at least. 🤷♂️
- Now all that being said, I admit I run Lightborn sometimes for the hell of it just to mess with flashlighters because it’s funny when they panic after not blinding you. 😄 I usually do it as a gimmick build with Lightborn and Brutal Strength for quick pallet kicks while they try a pallet blind for an easy hit, as well as some combination of maybe Endurance, Agitation, Mad Grit and/or Fire Up for even faster pallet breaks and possible hits on people trying flashlight saves. Again, this is by no means a great build, it’s Gimimick-pocalype! But hey, meme builds are fun sometimes. 🙂
Actually, survivors have a notification event when they try to blind a killer with lightborn...

I'd say perks are used to sell solutions...

To me is Feng Min. I can pinpoint her from the other side if the map lol

Killer: Dead Hard, Iron Will, Prove Thyself
Survivor: Noed, Tinkerer , Ruin

Thats weird the killers with different height have a certain angle?
It's definitely their animation. Ghostface does a little step up at the end of the locker animation, so the locker hides his face from the light bean.
-
There are killers immune to locker flashlight save, Demogorgon and Ghostface as example, because they put their head a little inside the locker, so there's no angle to flashlights.
Maybe BHVR could tweak the animations of all the killers?
-
- Unbalancing between perks (on both sides, but the survivor's meta perks is deeply oppressive against almost all killers)
- Unbalancing between killers (strong killers, weak killers)
- Map design/resources (matches finishing without survivors using 1/3 of the pallets, that's really an issue for me)
-
Yes, it's possible and you don't even need the Torn Bookmark addon to go for it.
If you do 1 blink + 2 blink chain (for example, one very short blink + wait for the recharge + 2 very short blink chain) the game consider ir as a 3 blink chain. So if you manage to catch the survivor while doing this you get the achievement.

You only have to check a box.
They are analizing the stats before checking the box 😂
-
Probably they don't know how to fix it
-
I still can't understand how devs thought it would be fine to give iframes to survivors (????)
I know the game is supposed to be unbalanced, but holy #########
-
I'm having this issue too. I did receive only 3 cosmetics at all and only when I was playing survivor. I've been playing since the beggining of the event, almost every match I get the blue sparkles but NO cosmetic is unlocked.
I send a ticket but no answer :/
-
fyi playing nurse with a bad ping is one of the worst experiences, she can't even blink properly
-
I'd say the less gore one? Trickster? He's hotter than survivors ngl
-
It's good to do the break X pallets challenge
-
She is easily one of the best killers in therms of chasing (in the hands of the best spirit players), however she's not even close to her op pre-nerf form.
She can't manage grabs anymore (she was the best killer to do grabs), this is a nerf to the ground for sure. She lost her stealthy gameplay that used to give a huge map pressure, due to directional audio and reworked addons.
She became essentially a chaser killer and I'd say the most penalized one if you manage to miss a phase. There's no room for mistakes and this is why people do no want to play with her anymore, mainly with the MMR system.
-
In my opinion, toward the years DBD has lost a lot of its horror aspect and BHVR has pushed a very competitive scenario (even though she says otherwise). Survivor gameplay is basically the same (that's why it's still fun to play the survivor role). Killer role became a very complex one with too little rewarding (lacking fun).
-
If at least we could complete the challenges playing normally (without choosing one specific challenge), this wouldn't happen.
-
Though I hate flashlight spam, we should blame BHVR for not fixing this crap and not the people that do it.
-
Auric Cells are exclusive to the platform they were purchased on

The only information that we have regarding Switch cross-progression is what we have previously advised - which is here in the KB: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/305-f-a-q-cross-progression
Hi, Mandy! I don't know if it's normal, but I'm getting an error after trying to link the Epic to BHVR's account.
-
They will wait everybody spend money and time to learn her and to be attached with her, so gutting is gonna come. It's Bhvr way to spoil players experience.
-
@FrootLoops said:
no, because the aura is within a radius, so it would effectively tell killers exactly where the totem is. maybe a killer version of small game could be implemented, but not basekit
The main purpose is to help territorial killers (Hag and Trapper).

I have more than 400 anniversary cakes on my killers, but since survivors like to trash talk me in the post chat I decided I won’t be using them ever. If I want bps, I’ll be using Survivor Puddings.
The same with my survivors, everytime i burnt a bp cake/bps, the killer decided to play like a tournament. So no offerings.

Bubba

Not gonna lie, the sound of breaking pallets is so satisfying, it gives me ASMR feelings and after 2, 3 matches I’m ready to sleep.
-
Of course let’s nerf the only killer that provides a different gameplay in this boring game

Did you played with the tier II or I iron will? Cause i did and it just made it useless. So, you saying that you should have grunts of pain every two seconds might just make the perk unusable (thats just what i was trying to say).
Yeah. It must be 100% or nothing. I don't know how to make this Iron Will useful when tier I/II actually :/
-
@Faulds said:
I'm afraid that would just disable iron will to be honest. Like, when grunts of pain are reduced by 50% or 75%... do you see any difference from when a survivor is at 100% grunts of pain? Cause i don't.
I did no want to mean this, sorry.
Actually 20/75/100% is for tier I/II/III. The big change is that no matter the tier of the perk, the survivors won't have 0 sounds all the time.
-
I don't like the idea of bringing back the legacy outfit. It's unfair to the people that did obtain it legitly and that enjoyed the game when it was dark times.
I want NEW things. What about creating outfits to players that expent x hours or that reached certain achievement with certain killer/survivor?
Just an example.
-
I don't think so. It's the equivalent of Kindred for solos.
-
Honestly, I don't care. I've stopped using any gen slowdown perk because almost all matches I have little to zero value from them. I've been getting much more value from chase perks.
-
This is why I don't watch people playing survivor on streams. They always trashtalk the killer (even main killers playing survivor). It makes me sad when I play against a streamer and after watching the VOD it's the entire squad trashtalking me. Like why? Serious...
-
Unbelievable that this problem has not been resolved...
