I don't mean to be mean, but I can't help wondering: all the people who complain about toxicity and being bullied IN A GAME... what do you guys do in a RL conflict? I mean, someone starts throwing insults at you at a bar? Report them to... whom, the bartender? Someone says nasty things to your girlfriend? If you had some idea how REAL bullying or REAL violence works, you would not give a damn about "toxic" players in a virtual environment. I know I sound like some old dustfart (which I am) but the X/Y generation is so weak... it's worrying me. Just learn how to punch someone in the face or how it feels to be punched in the face, and you won't give a toss about "bullying" in a game.

    I don't get bullied IRL.
And no one will come and told me to kill myself in a regular basis, especially without facing consequences.

If someone do whatever you have enumerate, i perfectly know what to do and will not go into detail on how since it will be used against me sooner or later as an "argument" (lul).

I'm a an adult, who now how to defend himself, thank you for your "concern".

I just don't like bathing in my own "dirt" and enjoy toxic behavior in general.

Even less in a supposed adult rated game that i paid and love.

There is always toxicity and there will always be.

But games usualy try to minimize it, and no endorse it like it was the case.

Also this generation X/Y you are talking about also tend to reverse values and glorify bad behaviors on the web.
Not everyone of course, but there is a trend since a long time now.

    Coincidence ?

Let me just say I didn't mean some poorly concealed insult by implying that you're one of them mindless youngsters. Sorry if this is how it came through.
I just don't get it why is so called "toxic" behaviour is such a big deal, either in games or social media, etc. What's the worse that could happen there? Bad words? Teabagging? Flashlight spamming at the exit gate? Such trifles. I'm not saying it's a good thing, but seems so insignificant. I just wish people, young and adult alike learned how to return insults with more something more painful, verbally or otherwise. Principles like "don't feed the troll" or "be nice to each other" just don't work.

For me is that the person behind the toxic act is a coward and the act itself that ruins my day. They would not do that to me in real life i can 100% guarantee it.

The thing that i have learned in my life is that ignoring the insulter( their insults more precisely) or not resorting to insulting them back but being calm and serene makes not only you "morally" win if you want but it really grinds the gears of the insulters ( and i dont give a single ######### against rude or similar people from that point onwards too) And it works wonders . Much better than punching them back or insulting them.

I would love to see how she would do with tracking perks. Since currently you cant see survivors in the phase walk i can see predator + sloppy butcher being really good on her when she is phase walking.

Also now DS has a counter (OF SORTS). Good job devs.

What changed with DS? I guess I didn’t see that one

With Rancor you can 1 hit down and mori the obession when the gates are powered . Its a counter of sorts and its great with freddy and his end game perks.

Design and looks are nice, but she lacks the power of a viable killer, so she will dissapear after a few weeks which is quite sad considering how much time is wasted creating new killers.
But then devs dont want every killer to be viable against competent survivors as they said during the lsat stream, so I guess she is trash as intended

I think she is quite viable actually . At least myres level. And the mindgames with her are strong AF too.

Myers can get rekt completely by competent survivors too.
I will wait one or two weeks and then decide if I wanna buy her, maybe I will play her in low ranks only to have fun, that should work

Have you at least tried her or not really? (Legit question by the way I have not personally).

I haven't played her yet, but just a few observations and critiques.

My biggest complaint by far is Adam's perks.

    For the Spirit:

I don't know what add-ons she has, but her power looks like it could use a few improvements. I can completely understand survivor and killer not being able to see each other, but I feel like it might be too easy to dodge. See the killer just stand still? Start running back the way you came because she can't see you, especially if the survivor is not injured.

As far as animation goes, I think she should be holding the katana all the time. It doesn't transition well to have the katana away while walking and then have it randomly show up when interacting with something.

The mori is pretty cool, just about the best thing going for this killer in my opinion.

She does have some useful perks, but they don't seem to fit with her, lore wise. The other killers mostly have perks that makes sense for them, but hers just seem to be randomly assigned.

    • Spirit Fury is actually a pretty good perk to use against survivors that like to use pallets to stun the killer. Bit of a shame (for the killer) that she still gets stunned. I guess if you run it with Brutal Strength and Enduring, it can easily make chases easier later in the game when the survivors have exhausted all of the pallets. This perk is pretty good as it is.
    • Hex: Haunted Ground will really make survivors think twice when cleansing totems. It would be good if you are running other Hex Perks, especially Thrill of the Hunt, because it will add extra effort to cleanse a trapped totem, just to backfire on the survivor. This is probably the best one out of the six new perks.
    • Rancor just seems to be a mix of random things thrown together. You basically get a weaker Bitter Murmur, weaker Hex: Devour Hope, weaker Hex: No One Escapes Death, and you give your obsession Dark Sense. I think this perk could be better if it was less random. It's like the developers just said "here's a good new Hex perk and a random new Obsession perk."

As for Adam, he seemed so promising. Adam is supposed to be a very smart person, but his perks don't seem to show that effectively. As they are now, I would most likely not want to use them at all.

    • I have actually thought of a perk that works almost exactly like Diversion does (my idea was to throw a rock or something and have the tracks go in the direction of the throw. Either way, it is a good way to mislead the killer, especially if they are tunneling a person. The biggest turn off for this perk is you have to sit in the killer's terror radius for 45 seconds, to only be able to use it once. Make it usable more than once, just have a long cool down. I would keep the other requirements, except for the 45 seconds, it should be shorter. This seems to be the most promising of his 3 perks.
    • Deliverance is a mixed bag. It requires that you aren't found and hooked first. If you are hooked before the perk activates, it's worthless. Imagine being killed via mori before being able to use Decisive Strike. I would remove the requirement to save someone first, and keep the Broken status effect. Again, it's a lot of effort for seemingly little reward.
    • Autodidact just seems off-putting. It doesn't seem like it's a necessary perk at all, merely something to add a bit of a challenge. I think Botany Knowledge is a better perk to use than this one. Quite frankly, this perk needs a complete overhaul. A much more practical use for Autodidact would be the ability to retain the ability of Med Kits and Toolboxes after they are consumed. The effect of Autodidact could either expire when the interaction is expired, or until you pick up a new item. For instance, if you are using a toolbox to sabotage a hook, and the toolbox is used up before it's destroyed, you could use Autodidact to finish the sabotage without a toolbox, even if you don't have the Saboteur perk. Same thing when using a Med Kit for Self Heal. Alternately, if a toolbox is being used to repair a generator, and it's consumed before the generator is repaired, Autodidact would allow you to finish the generator at the same speed as if you still had the toolbox.

    Fair enough.

This is just from a stylized prospective but omg I 😍love her! I love her hair the most lol.

The only thing I have seen as I've not played her, is her mori animation is a bit jerky yes but in her animation her "cut leg" when you see the close up hit just looks a bit odd.

I also wished they took advantage of her creepiness a bit more. If maybe when she was near she had something similar to the Huntress only in words...like farther away it was more of a whisper and closer is more of a yell and being hit or mori'd it was a screechy like scream. But that may give folks nightmares lol.
I don't normally play killer but l love her already l am totally excited to switch it up 😍

    Nice go play killer then.

Also, that sword animation, oh god I like it!!!
Combine that with her ridiculous lunge range (when coming out of her main power), you can even cover the hole in Badham preschool or many spots on Haddonfield or mothers dwelling with the right timing.

I think she is cool but she needs a buff to her power in order to be a viable killer. Wouldn't be a bad idea if she could see snap shots of the survivors every few seconds while haunting similar to how the survivor see snap shots of freddy while dream transitioning. This would make the use of her power more precise and help alot in the chase.

True True. I think the reason she does not see survivors is so that she nots super OP so there is more skill to play her (Which i think its good).

If she could see them full time i think it would be OP but snap shots would be a happy medium. Her power has the potential to hard counter pallet looping like the nurse. With a small buff she could be a meta tier killer and that is something we need because i am getting sick of the top 3 killers.

Or that , being able to still walk and see the survivor during the transition could be a really good buff.

Thats probably to prevent her from being too strong .but maybe like see their shadows or similar could be nice

I think Bamboozle should work for X seconds on every window you walk through. Right now it's like "Okay, you blocked that window...well I'll just use this one, or this door, or run through that pallet drop..."

and no sounds or even spikes until you try (and fail ) to vault the window.

  • Is her speed the same as a normal killer (115% of survivor's speed /4.6 m/s)?

  • @Redcum said:
I believe she needs a buff to her movement speed. Her power doesn't help enough in the chase to make her good. She can easily gets the first hit but it's way too hard to get the second one.

It does not mean that video games exacerbate social problems. If you are dealing with the weak, you have to be a little more equal and uncomfortable. If a character who was killed by racial discrimination comes out, does he need to describe in detail what abused, how many, who was attacked, how he died, and who abused the character? No. Did HillBilly describe in detail what abused and how his parents hit him and how? HillBilly was emphasized to be a murderer using saws. Spirit does not have to be so stressed that her past and her father are so. It is unnecessary and unpleasant.

Yes, it actually does need to be described. This game is horror themed, and that's exactly what horror, as a genre is. It's a safe way to hold up a very dark mirror to our reality. This is why fans of the genre enjoy it so much, because it allows us to explore dark and mature themes without being directly affected by them.

You cannot be overly-sensitive and a fan of the genre. Those two things directly contradict each other.

Horror isn't jumpscares. It's dark fantasy. It's a peek into topics that are terrifying, visceral, and taboo. Once you start trying to remove those things, the genre no longer exists.

You do realize that the old vampire tales are an allegory for #########, right? That Frankenstein was a cautionary tale of man trying to become God? That werewolves are a reflection of our own carnal, bestial natures, and were used as a reasoning behind serial killings and mass murders?

    B. Keep parroting the same tired talking points that killers on this forum overuse daily?
    C. Try to be witty and fail miserably?

yeah i was out of line i apologize.

I actually say this because when i think outplay its more like lose LOS and lose the killer more than anything really. And if as killer i break of the chase to press gens i go there ,kick the gen and 5 seconds later the surivivor either touches the gen and nulls the gen progress or continues repairing it because i have to check the other gens and they will probably just loop you the same and in my experience i would lose like that (or win if im survivor).

    Stalling is not outplaying.

I've seen this stated a few times recently, and it's a pretty confusing statement. Can you please elaborate on this?

Basically its when i know you are running in the same exact places that millions have ran(and i know your routing too by the way) but my character (a non nurse killer basically can't counter it unless they [BAD WORD] up ) just to stall me without any attempt to lose or outplay me . Its very frustrating. Especially when people say that that is outplaying the killer(its not).

No, I know what looping is. I want you to explain to me how stalling the killer and getting them away from the other survivors that are doing gens is not outplaying the killer.

Because it is outplaying the killer. You're not seeing the forest for the trees. If a killer gets "stalled" while multiple gens are completed, then the killer got outplayed. It's like playing chess and only watching the moves of one pawn. There's a larger strategy there (that doesn't even need to be communicated, so don't bring SWF into this) that the killer is missing.

So the Killer lets the opponent he should crush 1v1 live, goes to chase another one, boom, looped again. Goes for the third one, boom looped. Fourth one, looped. Oh, wait, all gens have been repaired because looping has no downsides.

Nope. Put pressure on the gens, making the game take longer, chip away at the survivors and force them to make mistakes instead of waiting for them to, and take advantage of those mistakes in order to get the sacrifice. Like I said, it's like chess. I see a lot of talk about mindgames, but it never extends past a pallet or jungle gym.

Don't let the survivors control the pace of the match, take control of the match and force them to make poor decisions. Every time you try to "crush" the survivor by chasing them down through multiple pallets, you're playing into their game.

At the end of the day, you are getting outplayed simply by chasing any one survivor for too long.

Now another question: does it strike you as balanced that the Killer has to consistently lose chases (which are 1v1, where the power role in an asymmetrical game is supposed to crush the opponent) to win the game?

Maybe it's more that your fundamental concept of "my power role is based on crushing opponents" is flawed.

Maybe, just maybe, the idea that "the job of the killer is to kill" is false. Look at it from a different angle. The job of the player is to win. So, if we instead look at it that way, the killer is supposed to, before anything, mitigate gen progression, in order to increase match time and pressure on the survivors, which brings the end result of capitalizing on this combination of time and pressure in order to get sacrifices.

Here's the problem, so long as you let the survivors dictate the rules of the match, you don't have the power role. This isn't something the devs can fix, or the survivors. Only you can fix it. The killer in most matches is submissive, chasing instead of forcing.

Learn what an actual power role is, and become it.

Are you saying that in an asymmetrical role, the power role isn't supposed to be able to defeat the number role 1v1, regardless of what the number role does?

No, I'm saying that your definition of power role is flawed. You can easily defeat any survivor in a 1v1, mechanically. You can down them, hook them, and sacrifice them. None of these things can be done to you by the survivor. But, if you, as a player, cannot beat the survivor because you can't take your blinders off and be the actual power role on the entire map, then you are submitting yourself to the survivor and handing them the power role.

A power role isn't mechanics, it's psychology and strategy.

I hope you're never in any position to affect the development of an asymmetrical game.

    I hope so too.

And thats the post where logic was murdered in a brutal and horrifying way.

If you are a survivor main that hugs pallets like a weeaboo hugs body pillows I have grim news for you. The new killer comes with the unique perk "Spirit Fury" (Or something like that). This perk at tier three behaves as follows:

After breaking 2 pallets the next time you are stunned the Entity will immediately break the pallet. When this is combined with Enduring your pallet is essentially null leaving you wide open for a free hit. This negates looping hard. You have been warned.

'Loopers' can pretty much just be alternatively named "normal survivors". What survivor doesn't loop? There's no easier way to waste the killer's time. We'll only see a change to this when survivors get more creative and skilled or when even more tools are given to survivors.

They have added a new survivor perk that when used well is great. "Distraction" lets you create a custom noise indication by throwing a rock after having been in the TR for a certain span of time.

That perk is 100% useless tho.

This is true, you're not always meant to escape and even the best survivors find themselves sacrificed on a hook or the victim of a mori. Sometimes they are outplayed, sometimes they outplay themselves, sometimes their team makes a mistake that causes events to play out against them, sometimes they just simply get stuck on a corner. Things happen and no one survives every match, player skill and knowledge of the game makes the odds of surviving the match higher and this is always going to be the case. Also the phrase "you're not always meant to escape" does not mean you are supposed to be killed every match, the phrasing implies that you are supposed to escape sometimes while being killed other times. Game balance doesn't come from adjusting the game to counter player skill, it comes from the tools the game provides being balanced against the opposing tools. Each tool a player on either side uses needs to have a counter that negates that tool on the other side and no one should be able to use all tools or all counters.

SC is fine, so is NOED.

If a perk is used in 99% of all loadouts, then there is something wrong and the devs need to take action.

NOED Is nowhere near that, in fact more killers dont use it because it can be completely negated.

BBQ and ruin are the only killer perk that are used too frequently. However, BBQ was first introduced to get more players into playing killer again, so nerfing it would cause the same issues again.

    Well and ruin......

In all games there's always a perk/skill which is used by everyone. And no, it's not the 99%. Many players rather bring a medkit and use that 4th slot for something else, which is logical if you are good enough to only need it around 3 times.

Like 90% of the games i played all 4 survivors (on both sides) had self care.

Giving up a perk slot for that perk isn't worth the bloodpoints. BBQ is way better plus killers get more bloodpoints than survivors.

WGLF is superior to BBQ because it´s way easier to get WGLF stacks than BBQ stacks. If i have a good match i leave with 50.000+ BPs as survivor. Without any offerings.

You’re high as a kite if you think WGLF stacks are easier to get. It literally relies on teammates failure, while you being there and NOT the other 2; AND almost never doing gens. It’s a recipe for disaster. Meanwhile BBQ gives you stacks for just not being complete #########

Let's see, unhooking someone and getting hit next to the hook = 2 stacks.
That's clearly harder than hooking every survivor once.

    /S

I have to agree that BBQ stacks are much easier to get than WGLF stacks tho.

Not for me. I usually get 2 stacks on a camping killer unhook. That´s really easy money. I rush in with BT.

I get the 4 stacks of BBQ way more frequently especially if i played well in that game than the WGLF (and if they are camping i am probably going to go to the hook)

I'll admit that with WGLF you can get them twice as fast though.

I´m used to drop everything the moment a survivor gets downed. Unless i use my scavenger build (Ace in the Hole + Plunderers) i equip Empathy and try to position myself close to the survivor, before he gets downed.

I like My gennies personally. Especially if there are 4 survivors (including me) il let them save them if possible.

I just go in for points. Unhooking nets way more points than the gen.

Gen makes people survive and "win". Saving means usually death (or a pip or both)

Oh i also do gens. But my priority are saves. I often equip We´ll make it.

I love we'll make it too.

The usual baiting non-argument "You just want ez matches".
No, killers just want a fair chance in a balanced match. Especially since dbd devs are turning the game into a teamgame, rather than a 1v1v1v1 vs 1 killer game that it originally used to be.

So obviously, some features making the survivor's life braindead easy have to be reworked in order to attain proper balance.
Don't worry tho, these devs only put update once every few months, and only do "very small steps". You'll keep having your survivor mode being relatively easy on a casual level for several months/years again.

Honestly that "You just want ez matches" statement is extremely frustrating as that is not the truth but a falsehood created by others with other agendas.

Of course they mainly changed things for the killer side because it was needed but saying "ehw the devs answered every survivor wish" ist not true and a bit stupid^^ They wanna increase the fun for both sides and they have a plan and sometimes you just should wait and show some patience. And a little less selfishness.

The last patches looked like the game goes into the right direction. But with the upcoming changes (we probably see today) i think the devs are doing 2 steps back. But we´ll see.

I hope they dont uber buff the pallets once more.

    1 - remove the hatch

    2 - nerf ds, sc

    3 - nerf looping

4 - make other killers as powerful as (or close to) the nurse.

5 - make gens to take longer to repair (or gather pieces to repair them)

    6 - remove SWF

Don't you see a big flaw if all of these ideas became real?

I personally find it funny when someone asks for all this and yet makes fun of survivors by saying they want ez matches.

PS: feel free to add more of these suggestions if you think they have been proposed often.

Disclaimer: i've already said that swf needs a especial treatment and some small tweaks would be needed in the game.

wow if these were implemented the game might actually be balanced!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Yep, balanced towards your skills.

Just KILL DS BS and nerf the jungle gyms/magic houses and there. Balance.

The game is NOT unbalanced in favor of the survivors and the kill rate is NOT 2 survivors sacrificed and 2 escaped, that is the ideal match according to what the devs have stated in the past. Current stats show that killers score 4 kill matches far more often than they score less than 2 kills per match. Currently killer gameplay is scoring ideal match (2 kills, 2 escapes) or better more than half of their matches. Killers are not underpowered. The reason SOME (not even the majority, it's only a minority of highly experienced players) survivors are able to 'bully' killers is because they have superior game knowledge and use it effectively. The players that routinely 'bully' killers don't need to rely on perks and no amount of map changes or other changes will have a noticeable effect because these players adapt to changes and simply have the skill and tactics to do what they do. The minority of killers that play on the same level as that minority of survivors have routinely been scoring 4 kill matches in rank 1 games since the game released.

The question is not that they died but how did they die.

  • Just Kill Ds. And nerf the broken jungle gyms/magic houses like cowshed or the haddonfield/ badham houses.

1 - need to get better 2 - hate when they get destroyed, doesnt matter if rarely happens. I'm not saying that game doesnt need some tweaks, but some suggestions or accusations towards survivors are simply ridiculous, especially when some people think all survivors are the same.

It's not about staying at rank 1. It's about how stressful it is and how much effort each side has to bring in to "enjoy" the game.

A rank 1 non nurse/billy player has to try harder than the average survivor.

Rank 1 is suposed to be challenging.

Other killers have to try "harder" because nurse is too op. Some people got used to her due to the amazing results and feel like other killers should perform the same way. A good nurse with a slug build can get 4 K in less than 2 or 3 gens in almost every match. I agree that rank 1 should be challenging. But it should be challenging for everyone. Not just killers.

It is, and when survivors have to face that nurse i was talking about it's extremely challenging/a certain death

Exactly what every killer should be . Unfortunately its not.

If every killer gets to be extremely challenging/a certain death... Dont you think that would mean it's unbalanced for the other side? Needs to be challenging for both.

This is supposed to be a horror game. Not Mortal Kombat. Where everyone can 1v1.

Killers should be OP. Survivors should be scared. But somehow the survivors convinced the devs that it should be the other way around.

Doesnt matter how powerful the killers are, this wont be a horror game because many other factors, like the light.
Killers got the upper hand already because they can kill while survivors can only run and escape, and maybe some occasional blinds.

And hide and be stealthy or juke( Lose LOS and break the chase) . The whole point about survivor skill is to first not be found at all, then you have the map knowledge and similar stuff.
