I always see a bunch of people complain about tunneling and camping but like I feel like i never encounter those things. Im not devaluing anybody's experience in the game, I'm just saying through mine, I never see it. Only time somebody camps in my match is end game which I don't blame them for and tunneling is not as rare but not very common
No. You're not alone. It happens to me occassionally, but nowhere near the level these forums would seem to indicate.
-
It's fun when it works, but unreliable as hell.
-
I play quite a bit of Bubba. He's my only killer with tier 3 BBQ currently so I play him to farm BP. Can't say I've seen any teleporting survivors. I also use Franklin's about 1 in 5 games with him...haven't seen any major issues there either. ######### happens but it's been rare and nothing major...key drops in the middle of the pallet, when it looked like I hit on the other side, etc.
-
Played it with Bubba. Didn't notice any issues. Did chainsaw a lot of pallets though. Got a 4k.
-
Meh... I can take it or leave it. I think a year from now, when everyone is used to the layout and where to look for information, no one will even be talking about the UI anymore. I like the layout less than the old one, but the added portraits and hook counters make it worth it to me. I could never tell who the obsession was under the old UI.
-
Demogorgon is a lot of fun to play. Honestly one of my favorites. Very middle of the road as an effective killer though. I love surge on a M1 killer. I frequently take it over Pop because of it's passive nature and the fact that you don't have to waste time finding and kicking a gen for it to work. It's great for defending a 3 gen if you stay close. It's great on the smaller maps and indoor maps. It's downside is that most survivors will try to run you to a dead zone if they realize you have Surge. You then end up getting no value from it because there are no gens within 32m. It's also not "great" on Demo because of his pounce attack. Clown, Doc, Spirit....all M1. Plague can be M1 but not so much most games. Depends largely on the survivors and placement of her cleansing pools.
-
I love playing Demo, but he does need to be quieter. His "stealth" coming out of his portals is trash.
-
I've been hoping to go to Gideon to check out the new map. All I seem to do is end up surrounded by corn. Still haven't seen a reworked map.
-
I play Hag, Doc, Demo, and Trapper weekly.
Bubba, Pyramidhead, Plague, and Clown at least ever other week.
The rest I'll play if I have a daily.
-
First, realize that this is a ######### video game and means absolutely nothing more than you allow it.
Second, turn off chat and don't worry about it if it bothers you.
Third, once the survivors have the gate, leave. Move somewhere that if they come to you you'll have a chance at downing them again. Stay away

I just personally feel you can't talk about Survivor and their meta perks and their multiple Second Chances if you're sitting there tunneling and camping and being scummy. The problem with streamers tunneling and camping is because there are a lot of people home for some reason I think that everything a streamer does they have to do so you can see why a streamer tunneling an camping can be a bad thing for more than just that game. From my personal perspective.
Yeah, I hear you. I play both sides with a heavy lean to the killer side. Playing survivor I've been tunneled and camped out of the game many times. My own personal experience has been that console killers will do it almost every time if I'm the only PC survivor. It's not fun but I don't get tilted about it. As a killer, I've tunneled and camped if it'll win me the game. Very rarely happens though because I've never had widespread success with it. Better to go for a 12 hook. I play for blood points not kills.
-
I really like Otzdarva, Ohtofu, and SpooksNJukes. Spooks is the only one that will use tunnelling and other questionable actions because he makes a lot of videos where he trolls other TTV streamers. I know most of the time I've played against TTV players they haven't been streaming. Some have been cool... others kinda douchey. Not really any different than anyone else. When I first started I thought that when I saw TTV names they'd be awesome, good players. Yeah...I was wrong.
-
I ran Sloppy Butcher on Bubba. Got called stupid and all kinds of other nice things. Didn't say a word about the fact I was also running Franklin's and Surge. Or that they had a key, map, and 2 flashlights.
-
That you play perfectly every game and when you lose it's the killers fault or your teammates fault.
-
I don't have either one of these perks as teachables and I don't play Laurie or Bill. So never.

offering are a thing that are meant to affect EVERY PLAYER perks are not. some offerings only affect you and some perks affect other players but by in large perks are meant to help your side not the other and offerings affect all players by giving bp, changing the map, luck, or hatch spawn.
you call this perk OP and you want to change it in a meaningless way that doesn't affect gameplay.
that isn't how you balance a game, that is like reverting DS to how it first was and just giving killers 1000% more bp in all categories per perk. It sounds good but it would be awful for the game and yet players will say "you got a ton of bp get over it". the point is if you think this perk is OP which it is not then logically you actually nerf it you don't compensate the other side for having to deal with it.
That's simply not true. Offerings are not meant to affect every player. Some offerings are meant to effect every player and some are not. While most perks do help your side, some offer benefit to the other side as well. There is precedence for perks that benefit the other side.
Apologies if you thought I believed this perk to be OP. I NEVER stated that and don't believe it. I only run it when farming BP. The information you get from it is horrible. No survivors within 40m? No survivors in lockers? Hard as hell to spot survivors hiding behind gens.....no thanks. This is a farming perk. Nobody would run this if it didn't double your bp. I don't play enough survivor to know, but do survivors have a perk that doubles all their bp?

Also there are plenty of other perks that give extra bp for both sides, in the first place it doesn't make sense to help the other side in any way and secondly it isn't hypocritical for us to use and say bbq shouldn't give bp to the other side when we use bp offerings. If we ignore the perk and focus on the bp aspect then in the first place we are only using it to help ourselves get more bp not the other players so it still makes no sense to do that.
would this affect balance no, would it be good for survivors? yes but that is like saying we should add a bp effect to anything strong or commonly used just because why not and obviously that won't happen.
edit: also distressing can work against the survivors. its a perk meant to be used on killers that have TR influence such as doctor, spirit, and TR builds.
It actually is being hypocritical. Almost the exact definition. BPS benefits the survivors exactly as much as you. You are giving them double bp. By bringing that offering into the game you personally are literally, giving them thousands of bp regardless of what benefit you get. You said yourself that it doesn't affect gameplay balance. I agree. I think (hope) it might have the same effect as BPS on the toxicity and sweaty ######### that happens though. If it works to make a more chill game, I'm all in for it. They already think we run it in every build anyway. If they changed this, would you stop running BBQ and Chili?
As far as distressing...your right. It is meant for certain build. I run it on Doc regularly. The killer getting a benefit from it doesn't in any way alter the fact that the survivor gets a benefit. Same with No Mither and Self Care. The survivors benefit (lol, questionable with NM) because it is their perk, but that doesn't change the benefit the killer gets from those perks.
I'm not saying I don't understand your argument. I do. What I am saying is that this game stresses some people the ######### out! Maybe you and I don't get that way (often), but a lot of our fellow players do. I love the chat feature when I get to chat with cool people. I've made some friends since I started playing DBD. Unfortunately that is few and far between. Most people just want to ######### about what happened in game. BPS seems to have some bearing on that. Maybe this could too. We won't know unless we try something different than what has been done before (cuz that ######### has not worked so far).

why does that matter? i don't see any survivor perks that benefit the killer by giving them bp so why should a killer perk do that for survivors?
It matters because the "logic" that was used was why would you use a killer perk that benefits the survivor. If you agreed with that but run offerings that benefit survivors, then you're being hypocritical (and no, it wasn't you that said it) and the "logic" is faulty. I see killers running Distressing all the time...this certainly benefits survivors in the sense of early warning regardless of what benefit the killer may get from it. No Mither and Self Heal are arguably better for the killer than the survivor and I see the latter all the time (No Mither is rare but I have faced it). That's just 3 perks without even thinking about it. There is precedence for perks that benefit the other side.
Maybe there should be some survivor perks that give BP to killers. I know when I see BPS or other offerings that benefit me as killer, the game is usually much more chill and the toxicity rarely gets out of hand. I don't have to play so sweaty cuz I know I'll still get decent BP. I've had survivors thank me for bringing BPS in post game chat even though I got a 4k. We talk so much about wanting to end the toxicity, but cling desperately to an us vs. them mentality and do nothing to actually change anything.
So I'm going to stick to my original suggestion and say that if you or anyone else uses BPS then your actions agree with me even if you are disagreeing on this forum and I thank you for your support!
-
So I'm assuming all you guys NEVER use Bloody Party Streamers or any other offering that benefit the other side cuz why bring an offering that benefits the other side?
And no, I'm not a survivor main. I play both sides with about 80% of my time being on killer.
-
Turn off the chat and just imagine you're playing a solo game on Insane difficulty. I'm about 200 hours and face red/purple almost every game on the weekends.
If you can play midday weekdays the MM is better. I get more accurate matches. I play survivor Friday evening-Sunday because the MM is so bad on weekends and the toxicity towards killers is super amplified.

I just switch over to Jane from Meg. Damn, Killers like Jane...Meg is lvl 41 and has never been given the hatch or a free escape. Jane is 20 and I've been given hatch twice, walked to the exit door once, and earlier today a friendly Spirit who had slugged me earlier in the match and left me on the ground for a long ...long... time caught me at the door and put me down just as I was about to exit. She picked me up (just to show dominance), walked me to the gate entrance then stood for a moment before dropping me and backing away. Thanks for the offer random console Spirit. It was a nice thought, but I died about 3 seconds after hitting the ground and beginning the crawl to the gates. I had also found an iri key in a chest thanks to Plunderer. Lol, still was refreshing after so much toxicity.

I mean you can't beat the classic Borrowed Time, Dead Hard, Decisive Strike, and Unbreakable build. But I'll give this one a try and add to my wacky survivor build collection.
That is a classic. Faced a team last night that had 3 running it. 4th guy only had BT and DS. Guess he didn't get the memo. In his defense though, he was only a green, not red like the rest.
I sure enjoyed that game...

"we all have a tea bag party at low level killers expense check"
And you wonder why your wait times are so long. Maybe if you just left instead of adding more insult to the person you just ROFL stomped they might play another game to try and get better instead of just quitting the game.
Matchmaking is a problem, yes, but toxic Survivors who don't have any respect for Killer Players are diving said players out of the game and making it so you don't have anyone at all to play against, making matchmaking even worse.
Only Survivors can stop the cycle. Don't be toxic and just play the game.
Such a simple concept and yet so far beyond the comprehension of a lot of survivor players.

Midday is a great time to play for queues (CST), but the "quality" of play is generally low.
I'm a Rank 9 Killer... before 5PM I face a lot of "potato" crews, after 5PM things take a turn and its 4 man reds sometimes 3-4 in a row.
I'm a rank 14 Survivor (solo)... before 5PM I'm usually the highest rank in my group facing a 15-20 killer, after 5 PM I'm always the lowest rank and the killer is always higher rank than me.
-
I usually run Borrowed Time and Kindred. If I'm closest I'll go for the unhook immediately. If not I give it about 10 sec to see if the closest guy is going and then head that way if they are not. I've lost count of the number of times I've hit 2nd hook or death on my first hook because of crap teammates. If I see a player being toxic towards the killer for no apparent reason, I'll usually let them hit 2nd hook intentionally. I play a lot more killer than survivor and know that one toxic ass hat on the team can quickly change a killer's mind even if he intended to play chill.
-
3 gens on one side, 1 on the other? Any killer with the least bit of map awareness is going to let that gen fall before one of the 3. You are right though... I see it all the time playing both sides.

When we talk about people being facecamped, we often think about the poor new rank 20 player who gets camped by Bubba at the start of the game. But there's the other recipiants of killers securing their kill - Some players get facecamped because they were being toxic. They don't deserve camping points. I've played plenty of games where the killer has camped only one player and then played the rest of the game normally.
I've done this a few times to eliminate a toxic ass hat from the game. I rather defend that one last gen than continue to play with a the toxic player.
-
I finally got all of Bubba's teachables, so started working on clown tonight. Have to admit, he is a lot of fun to play. The AoE of his bottles is pretty forgiving too. That's a big plus for me.

If people got banned for tbagging there'd literally be no one playing survivor.

Whispers. It stops this.

I hover between ranks 8 and 9 and I've been getting ranked against red ranks a lot lately who wipe out the entire squad.
Is matchmaking bugged or something? This can't be the new standard right?
I'm a rank 9 killer and I go against red survivor teams all the time.
-
I've played a lot of Demodog lately and he's fun, but sadly his portals are crap. His footsteps are so loud that it defeats the undetectable status effect and negates his ability to have any real stealth as expected. Muffle his steps and he's fine. Without that though, he's really only got half his power.

Maybe I'm getting old but I fell asleep while queuing up the other night and was woke up by the sound of the 5 second lobby timer thing when I finally found a game
No joke. Was too tired to play at that point so I closed out then went to bed and you know what that means? 3 other survivors who probably had the same 15+ minute queue time, got sent straight back to lobby.
I'm starting to get F13 vibes
That's one of the funniest things I've read on here! Literally made me lol!

My first choice would be trashy EGC. Sore losers are always willing to be dick heads when they lose.

I run on specific builds and I like it on them, but not using out of it.
There's way better perks to be used in that perk slot. It's like one of those perks who new KIllers can try to use to get value from it, but it's useless in the higher ranks (at least againt decent survivor, since higher ranks is full of potatos).
Thats kinda my point. I see a lot of teams where 1 or 2 might be good and the others are blowing up gens everywhere. Frequently see back to back fails on the same gen. I feel like a lot of survivors are overstating their skill at hitting those checks.
Now if they can hit them, I understand that it is advantageous to them.
-
People don't need a reason to whine and complaint when they lose or don't like something someone else did. People don't like to admit they got outplayed. ######### happens! Everyone gets outplayed sometimes. Tough build just give people excuses to justify their loss rather than trying to think what they could've done better.
-
I love Franklin's and don't think it gets the credit for being as good as it is. People will do absolutely crazy things to get their items back. Ultimately, I think it's an interesting bait/slowdown perk. I've had people get hit and just keep circling the item until I down them rather than trying to escape. I've had people miss the pick up while I chase them and literally turn back to get it...and get hit. This whole time they aren't doing gens. SWFs sometimes coordinate a recovery and I get 2-4 people not doing gens, plus multiple hit/downs.
This doesn't seem to change as ranks change. The guy that turned back after missing the pick up was a red rank on Hawkins. Maybe he thought he was good enough to pull it off, but he wasn't.
I don't think the problem is Franklin's being a bad perk, but that it's benefits are not easily measurable like some others. It's benefits are influenced by survivor behavior. How do you measure that? I'll keep running it when I see 3-4 items in the lobby because the return has been great for me.
-
Seriously, dude. You really need to not base your mental health and self image off of some random ######### heads on the internet. You said it yourself...they're acting like "enormous babies". So be the adult you seem to be...you recognize the behavior is childish. Let it go and move on. Would you base your self image off the opinions of an angry toddler? Turn off your chat, kill'em with kindness, or just respond "gg" to every negative comment. Personally, I NEVER post the first negative comment, but I do enjoy poking a little fun at their tantrums.
The internet is not a "safe place". Ultimately, it won't bother you unless you let it. It has no more power over you than what you give it. Stop giving it power.
-
Jane. I like chasing her. Sometimes I won't even hit her.
