"Power struggle prevents me from picking people up at pallets"

    "Just dont slug"

"I keep getting hit by DS"

    "Dont tunnel"

Next I predict it's gonna be "I cant get any kills with all these 2nd chance perks?"

    "Play something else" lol

I'm literally a Plague main and I use Wraith a lot too (Add-on less more often than not) and when I play seriously i get 3ks consistently even with DS, Dead Hard, agressive BT usage and any other meta perks. Maybe u should try bringing mad grit, forced penance (underrated perk on legion) or Agitation if carrying survivors is what you're struggling with lol

    (edit; grammar)

  • thanks spine chill for being the main perk in anyone's stealthy build :D

  • Bloodlust is gonna stay anyway lol. Which's the largest amount of the playerbase? Low ranked killers and survivors. All killers would rather bloodlust staying, however the only wants that want it removed are low ranked survivors. High rank survivors don't mind bloodlust, so, since the part of the playerbase that wants it back is so big, it will remain.

Although I'd love to see Beast of Prey reworked soon. Such useless perk lol

Stealth is rewarded, in that you don't die?

Recently I had a nurse of all things complaining I was hiding from her. It was pretty obnoxious because she tried to get one of the other survivors to rat me out after I had not been hooked all game. I literally saved this meg, and then she brought the nurse over to me using bond.

Luckily, I brought in a key and dipped out; right in the nurses face too.

You think running out and letting the nurse chase me for free would relieve pressure from my teammates? I doubt it.

even though its rare, escaping and depiping is possible lol. Happened to me a couple times

  • @Yords said:

I think the problem with playing stealthy is that you are not being hooked. If your teammates are on second and death hook, you should probably get hooked on purpose to relieve pressure off them. At least going into a chase delays a death.

That's something I hadn't thought about. Ty for the tip!

  • @Mikeasaurus said:

That's just MM working as 'intended' at this point. I'm stuck at Rank 13 killer because of the crappy system. I get maybe 1 yellow rank and the rest are always purples and if I'm super unlucky, a red gets thrown in there too. I feel like MM is cursed to keep people low rank!

Why would they do that? I'm not only looking for ranking up but mostly to play against people of my level and not depip 6 out of 7 matches.

  • @Yords said:

The most basic and probably the most important tip:

Use the first blink to get close to survivors and the second to go for a hit.

    @xenotimebong said:

I was gonna recommend the Nurse guide by OhTofu but I see someone has beaten me to it! It’s a great overview and gives you stats, tips and general strats. Beyond that it’s just practice and learning by doing.

This two, and also bring some aura reading perks (BBQ is fine on its own). Information is extremely important for Nurse just as for Spirit, Hag or Demo and knowing where you can start a chase is fantastic. Also fog clearers are okay since stealth is deadly for Nurse because of her slow movement speed; Urban Evasion gamers destroy her.

  • The buff Coup de Grâce gives is insanely strong and it's fine for it to trigger 5 times in a game. Could be useful for M1 Killers like my beloved Wraith. Also, have you checked out the new survivor perks? You should check the requirements for Power Struggle, Second Wind, Repressed Alliance... They're all perks which are hard to trigger and they're fine lol.

  • @SunderMun said:

There is no MMR; it's purely based on ranks. Matchmaking has never worked that well and right now, it feels like there literally is no matchmaking; it just throws people into random games.

Is it going to get fixed with the new patch or something?

  • How would YOU change this core gameplay mechanic that is the reason why thousands of people play this game daily, and make it as fun and entertaining as is?

  • I've just reached devotion 1 and I have ~180 hours on this game lol. I feel so new compared to this veterans omg

  • I was playing Cheryl and I was lucky to go against a Slinger who was just M1ing. I still died.

For killer, a Wraith match in which I got 2 kills just by facecamping because I thought that's what you had to do.

If you take control of the brother the survivor can just hop inside a locker and there's nothing you can do unless you stop controlling him and come to the locker as the sister

OHH I get it its for the attack okay okay ty i got confused

  • @Carlosylu said:

    1. Can the brother jump through windows or break pallets? No, he can't
    2. Can the brother down survivors? Yes, he can
    3. Can the brother down exposed survivors with one hit? Yes he can
    4. Can a survivor escape either by hatch or exit gate with Victor on? No, they can't
    5. Can the brother be stopped? Yes, you can kill the baby by interacting with him if he's not controlled or he just missed a pounce
    6. Are there mulpiple moris depending on who are you controlling? Yes, 3 possible moris, one with killer and Vic, one with just Vic and one with just the killer
    7. Can the brother be stunned? Yes, if he gets a pallet on his head he dies
    8. Can the brother be blinded by flashlight or firecrakers? Yes he can
    9. Is there a specific counter for the brother? Yes, get in a locker

Feel free to add any other question you have about the brother

How is getting into a locker counterplay? I thought killer instinct detected survivors in lockers, at least Legion's does

  • Freddy and Spirit are the easiest but you can rank up as any killer. I have never hit red ranks yet because I still barely have any teachables unlocked and stuff, but I've successfully gotten to purple ranks just by using Plague and occasionally playing Doc and Legion.

You running Kindred or DS fixes that situation you described.

I'd say the meta is pretty terrible right now. Most hex perks are awful and I don't really see how one specific map and killer have anything to do with making it a decent meta.

I don't want to spend money on a specific character just to get a counter to a situation that could be solved in other manners. For the meta opinion, actually forget what I've said I've been playing for 2 months and this is the only meta I've experienced so I don't really have enough knowledge about how the game was before.

  • As Survivor I've had barely any issues with Killers, but I have gotten paired with potato brained teammates waaayyy too much.

As Killer, however, I've had many matches where I'm paired with 2-3 red ranks (I'm rank 8) and I get teabagged a ton, not to mention flashlight clicking and toxicity in post game chat after I get 2 kills only thanks to NOED.

  • Rank 1s that don't teabag me to death when I'm a rank 8 Plague and Wraith main make me smile :D

  • @Blueberry said:

I think you underestimate how much of a buff that would be to survivor. That would make every group hyper efficient on gens in a current meta where gens already go too fast.

What is your reasoning for wanting it base kit?

I'm tired of seeing nobody coming for me because they all think someone else will. Also people that save me when the Killer is rIGHT IN FRONT OF ME.

Additionally, the meta right now is decent. Survivors have fast gens and Ormond, Killers have Freddy and Hospital offerings with Hex perks.

  • Honestly, people would still leave matches if the option was removed. Simply shutting down the game.

DC penalties are a thing that works for me. I'm a really salty person and now instead of DCing against every Freddy I find I just repair until I get hooked then I KMS.

What I mean is eliminating it won't change absolutely anything lol. They should add not players to replace leavers like in Mobile thought.

  • The only issues with Killers and Survivors are all world wide known: Campers, Tunnelers and Freddy are all things that make us survivors want to die and they should get more attention.

  • @AChaoticKiller said:

because it is not needed as a base kit feature, yes the perk is nice but it isn't needed at all for solo players.

this is coming from a solo player at high rank you just need good teammates

I'm also a solo queuer but I play in purple ranks, and I still have several issues regarding campers and tunnelers and the perk greatly aids with that. Red ranks are probably much more SoloQ friendly thought

  • Doctor is a balanced character right now on PC but he's crazy OP on mobile. Skill Checks are already way harder in that tiny screen but Snap Out of It Skill Checks???? That's a whole new level of difficulty (I'm also a Doc player and I'm thinking of maining him so I know what I'm talking about).

While we're at it let's disable midwich and ormond too, nothing to lose.

Why Midwich? I mean it has a lot of God pallets but they can be countered zoning the survivor and it's also not really easy to find generators/ totems (and also tHOSE exit gates). I've won in Midwich more times as killer than as survivor ngl.

  • I don't know much about balancing a game and I'm fairly new but I believe that there are many perks and add-ons that could use a simple buff we all know would make them "useful" but we still don't get them though. Related to what they've done before I don't know anything since I started playing two months ago.

  • The worst part is that one moment when the Killer hooks someone but you find out they have NoED/ Blood Warden lol

  • @gatsby said:

Inner Strength is just better Self-Care. You can pre-cleanse totems and get an extremely fast + low risk heal when you need it.

The main reason Self-Care isn’t great is because of its speed. A lot of times you can’t afford to spend 32 seconds healing mid-game

As an Inner Strength user and an old Nancy main I must say IS will always outperform Self Care unless you somehow get Lèry's. I literally need to play SWF in that map it's freaking impossible for me to find more than 1 totem not even with Small Game equipped.

  • @danielmaster87 said:

I think this is a serious problem that never gets talked about. There are so many add-ons for killer that do next to nothing for you, or that actively work against you. About half of a killer's many different add-ons are useless in my opinion (as well as others' opinions), which is pretty insulting to the killer players of this game. Many of them could be great add-ons if their numbers were tweaked a bit. But unfortunately most are either speed limiter level (useless) or iri hatchet level (busted). I'm mainly concerned with the weaker ones, because the state that they're in, which is unplayable, is what causes killers to use meta add-ons all the time. The joke add-ons like speed limiter should never be common, because every time you're forced to buy one of them in the bloodweb, that's wasted bp because we will never ever use them unless we're smurfing against rank 20s or something. The Hillbilly add-on that makes your overheat go down faster while a flashlight is on you is a complete joke. Deathslinger's iridescent, like most iridescents that aren't iri hatchet, sucks. Having to fire at almost max range just to get an instadown? Not worth it. There's just so much that I could go into regarding how bad most of these add-ons are, but I think I've made my point.

The worst part is how the gap between killers with good add-ons and killers with crappy add-ons is so large. Demo is by far the weakest, and most of Huntress' and Freddy's add-ons could also use a rework. Then there's Plague who has arguably the best add-ons because of how much they change her playstyle, and Nurse and Spirit also have decently good add-ons (except nurse's red ones).

  • @Stinde said:

I would not. Most players are childish enough with the messages and friend request messages, we don't need any more ways for salty/toxic players to say stupid stuff.

I've made friends thanks to the Endgame chat, not everything is toxic. Console players should be able to experience it too.

  • Wraith, my old main and still my comfort character. If I'm doing bad I just play him and feel better even though I sTILL CANT GET HIS ADEPT KFJFHSKAMDJ

  • I still can't figure out why they don't implement it. At least in Xbox and PS is understandable because of slow typing but on Switch? It's super easy to type in handheld mode. Makes 0 sense.

  • The most frustrating thing is the fact that they can use some of the assets that are in DbD Mobile which means it wouldn't actually be hard to add. If they don't they're just lazy, or their superiors are way too greedy to even listen to their decreasing community.

  • We all agree that Slinger's power has no place ina game like DbD and that he isn't too fun to play against but... OP? Seriously? His kit requires a skill only Huntress needs; aim, so people aren't too skilled as him. What he could use is a little bigger penalty for missed shots, but anyways the Killer that is mainly an issue right now is by far Freddy and Spirit used to be too before her nerf.

  • @Mert_MK said:

Fun: Pig, Wraith, Billy, Huntress, Legion, Demogorgon, Nurse

Hate: Spirit, Deathslinger, Pyramid Head, Hag, Doctor, Freddy, Ghostface

The rest are inbetween/i'm mostly neutral towards.

How can you hate versing Doctor? I almost never find actually good Doctor players in purple ranks so that may be why though, but I think all the screaming and skill check stuff is fun.

  • @batax90 said:

How the ######### can you be the last survivor on midwich this map is so survivor side the killer need to run after the survivor before he can initiate a chase

So you're implying a killer will never be able to win just depending on the map? I got a 3k as Demo today in Ormond and I don't even use him frequently, and the survivors weren't dumb so play more killer.

    @DaddyFatSacks420 said:

The exit gates on Midwich are impossible to have time to open when you’re the last survivor. Maybe move one to the end of the hall to right of the stairs (when looking up the flight of stairs). Or possibly rotate the courtyard 90 degrees so it’s not a straight shot. It’s too fast and easy for killer to go from one exit gate straight through the courtyard to the other, and back again.

Totally agree with this, the distance should be increased between the two or at least make them quieter only for this map.

  • Forums are a bit outdated part of the internet and they're hard to keep peaceful and even. Additionally, people can't just be 100% objective, they will always have preferences and dislikes, although I agree with you that In and Outside of this forums BHVR needs to do something with all of the influential figures breaking basic rules...

  • @Ace_Ventura said:

Something should be done about gen speeds. I'm tired of feeling like I need to run slow down perks. When there isn't a slow down perk, gens just get hard tunneled to completion and it's very unenjoyable.

Please punish genrushing and stop forcing people to use slow downs thanks

(same logic as you, equally as nonsensical)

If you're comparing gen rushing with tunneling you need to stop using Clown and start maining Hag and see how those gen rushers die. The real issue is how all the anti-tunneling perks are uselless (Babysitter) or almost OP (DS, BT). Killers shouldn't be rewarded for tunneling, especially in lower ranks where if you're a new player you must always play Bill cuz of the high amount of campers (I'm rank 7 and I still have to do this cuz I'm also relatively new to the game and I have 4 survivors with their teachables unlocked).

  • Bloodlust is fine as is. It's already a loading bar it's just u can't see it lol

  • I mean you're not wrong but the game is so much fun it will continue to grow, even though we know new players aren't as frequent as they should be.

  • I'm technically a new player (this is literally my first event played ever) but how were the other events different? I know they weren't as awful as this but I think that besides themed gens, hooks and skins they shoudl add more things like new mechanics or even a gamemode.

  • A constant PTB would be great, or maybe even just a gamemode where we can try perk and Killer changes; like Overwatch's. I also think that one thing Devs really need to do is ask feedback from the community about problematic perks; if they did they wouldn't say what they did about OoO and they would buff perks that just need a simple buff that we all know they need. Will they really need 3 months to realize what they need to change about Fixated is remove the being healthy requirement and maybe a tiny numbers buff???

  • Honestly, Zarina. Basically because I know like 0 Zarina users and her perks aren't even used at all. She was just too forgettable. Same for Yui but I actually know a Yui main sooo yeah I'd remove Zarina.

  • As a Plague main myself I must say many people don't use basically because her power feels weird to use. There are so many things you can do with it:

    • You can use it in-chase to break survivors (my main playstyle).
    • You can try and get everyone sickened to get Corrupt more often (not viable in red ranks)
    • Or you could just mess around infecting everything to get info.

I don't always get many kills as her because her power isn't thAt helpful in chases but she's indeed effective.

I also think she's quite forgotten because people just buy her for the perks and then leave her, since both Corrupt and Infectious Fright are great perks, and you can also get value out of Dark Devotion depending on who you're using (tip: DD is awful on Plague you literally must be blind if you can't see her coming from a kilometer away lol).

    @itsaconehead said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/201279/the-most-forgotten-killer-in-dbd

My brother mains plague and he almost always gets 4k, I only play her if I get a daily.

Shoutout to your brother for being the literally other Plague main in this place we call a community. My sibling is unfortunately a Legion and Spirit main qwq.

  • @OniWantsYourMacaroni said:

I guess we're gonna wait for 3 months to see fixated also being useable when you're injured lol

Why must we wait so long? The perk it's okay it just needs a numbers buff what would the issue with it be?

  • This entire code thingie was a silly idea. Not many people are going to follow or subscribe to fog whisperers just because they are forced to watch them often lol.

  • @APoipleTurtle said:

Sprint Burst... and maybe Fixated to a lesser degree.

Like, please stop walking everywhere and come help me. I've died early on hook more times than I would've thought because of power-walking survivors being late to every activity on the map. Or lost massive progress on nearly-complete gens because they needed to take 20 extra second tip-toeing through the tulips or something and the killer beat 'em to the punch.

Us Fixated users dont just walk everywhere, we just use it to hide faster from the killer. I've entirely evaded chases thanks to this perk (it's also good for scratch mark juking but literally no one does that besides me).

Also Sprint Burst is the most effective exhaustion perk it's well worth walking.

  • I feel the same. I'm a Plague main and after a 3 match 1k streak I chose to play Spirit just for a fast win and guess who didn't even got a kill as her.

  • Tbh Plague's and Hag's outfits should've been entirely free lol. The rest of the outfits r fine but they could've curated Clown's one more; the only ones that are worth it are Nea's and Billy's.
