  • Also better together should not have its range limited just make it map-wide

  • Poised shouldn't only trigger when a gen is finished. I believe it should have a conversion rate similar to Repressed Alliance's. My idea would be the following: for each 30 seconds spent working on a generator, you gain a token. Each token grants you 3/4/5 seconds when you don't leave scratch marks. It'll make it much more easier to stealth and do ninja gen jockey plays, just what the perk was originally intended for.

  • Okay so here's what I disagree with or what are your mistakes:

    • I'm not 100% but I think Slippery Meat and luck already got reworked to not affect Trapper.
    • Nurse and Billy's add-ons are complete garbage, they needs buffs (Demo as well but you DID mention him)
    • As a Plague main myself I want everyone to know that she actually could use buffs. Make it so that you don't loose your Corrupt Purge if you get stun.
    • Freddy just needs some tweaks. He needs a Billy level add-on pass, and maybe some number tweaks OR remove his teleportation entirely. It's too good to be true.
    • Please elaborate on why you think Myers needs a rework, I do believe that he could just use some number buffs to Tier 1 and some help to his add ons to make him good.
    • Blight needs an entire rework or at least make him able to turn his camera like omg he's so tedious to play as.
  • I found a similar thingie on the swamp and got killed thanks to it :D

I main Jane as survivor but Quentin is second place. They are both uncommon characters and I love their cosmetics

For killer I play clown slinger and billy

Just as this person, I'm a full time Jane one trick who plays Quentin ocassionally. As for killer, I do love to use Plague and Wraith, sometimes Demo and Piggy too

  • @Uppafari said:

If I use F1 on him it also says they are not unlocked yet, i never bvought something from the shrine except NOED for the Killers a few months ago

But... NoED isn't available on the shrine...??? Btw, could u add a pic to the thread? That way it could be easier to see what the issue is

  • Clown is thought to loop and it's perfectly okay that you struggle against him. He can deny loops really quickly and good clowns can really apply a lot of pressure. I'd advice you to try and play in a more stealthier way: use Spine Chill or try and walk away from gens as you hear the terror radius. If you're forced in chase, pre-drop pallets and try not to use much windows. Getting distance against him is your main concern. If you play SWF, try to apply gen rush pressure since he has no mobility and can't counter it at all.

  • As a Jane main myself I do agree with that we can bodyblock, and I do love lockers and bring Inner Strength in all of my matches

  • I'm a Jane main and I never use self care, although I always bring spine chill... My second main is Quentin and I do agree that I'm not that good of a looper. I do agree with the rest except for the Dwight one doe, Dwelfs and Cozy Dwights r more toxic than Dweards

They’re doing balance and game health changes every single chapter and mid chapter

Yes but what about the bigger issues? What about camping and tunneling? What about DS and teabagging? What about the things everyone complains about and still get no solution?

  • Try to play using Small Game/ Detective's Hunch and if possible Inner Strength (so you get value out of cleansing). By doing this I've learned many totem spawns on multiple maps and I include Inner Strength in most of my loadouts (it's my favourite perk, really underrated). If there are specific maps you struggle with try to find totems in custom games. I've done this with friends and it works, trust me.

Welcome to DbD, where the main way of getting items and perks is incredibly outdated and made for a time where there were around 50 perks.

You just have to grind. Get Bubba if you don't have him, soley for BBQ & Chili. The Dev's apparently "know" how terrible the grind is, and are "looking" at it.

The problem is slightly big shouldn't they be putting all of their efforts into fixing it? Many people I've recomended this game to don't like it from the moment I mention the gigantic amount of DLC and the Battle pass

  • @Junylar said:

You grind, that's how. Welcome to Dead by Daylight. Grind for xp, buy Plague, grind for blood to get those perks after they are unlocked. Grinding the bloodweb is not that hard, it takes about a day of intensive play to get from level 1 to level 50. At level 50 you get 4 different perks, 2 of which you can take (the other 2 get eaten by the entity).

Okay but how many matches a day are you really talking about? Cuz if I spend all of my BP I win in a day into 1 character I'd probably just level them up to like lvl 30 ( I play around 15 matches now on vacation)

  • What else can I say but that this thread is perfect and perfectly summarizes the survivor SoloQ experience as a SoloQ survivor main. All the points and things you said make perfect sense and I really hope anyone in the company reads this.

  • Well I'm actually having the complete opposite of this issue. I bought Hag recently and on my more or less third match as her I got paired with 3 red ranks (as killer I play in around rank 8-9) and I got completely destroyed.

    Anyhow, matchmaking is broken rn

You have to remember that there is like 1-2 people working on balance. They could probably easily pump out balance changes every patch, but they’re very limited in their resources.

why would they have such little staff on such an important side of any game?

  • well that bug is actually good I wanna be able to hit that skill check omg. Also who runs Unnerving Presence? Rank 20s can hit those skill checks easily lol.

  • You actually forgot that legion needs a complete rework cuz their power is a boring and dull concept :D

When he is fully invisible he'll be like spirit where you can't tell what he's doing making his hit and run strategy very strong

On top of that if they make a windstorm addon basekit i honestly believe he'll have a decent chance against a good swf

so freddy has that if ur awake but thats not op but if its a stealth killer it is? bro

  • @SilentHillOnDvD said:

Want people's opinion on killers that can go addonless and still take on a swf in a balanced map

Spirit, PH and Blight are good add-on less. Plague too but she gets destroyed by SWF, same for Wraith. You can always play Freddy or Hag for consistent 4ks by doing nothing at all since they have no skill floor :D

  • The perk has barely any use outside of camping hooks or exit gates. Also you're not gonna get the same value out of it using a tall killer like Trapper or Plague as if you used a shorter one like Hag.

I've seen plenty of interesting suggestions and have worked on one with someone before.

Make it so you can't Mori someone fresh off of a hook until you've hooked someone else. Very simple, leaves the power of a Mori mostly intact while completely gutting the tunneling factor, and falls in line with rewarding a killer for playing and hooking.

Well that actually sounds interesting and I'd rather try that! Still, I believe it would encourage a very passive playstyle on survivors who have been hooked, just like matches with moris nowadays tend to have at least 1 leaver or thrower.

Foe the same reason insta-heals were used in every game before the change. And why do you need to get anything fone at all to be able to use a key?

Well idk bout insta heals cuz I started playing like 3 months ago after PH's release, but I still don't think everyone's gonna use moris and keys like crazy just cuz theyre gonna be nerfed.

I really don't see anyway where each survivor has a unique trait/power without a meta forming and invalidating a large portion of them.

Except for one idea I have: You get 1 random perk from their teachable in addition to whatever 4 you run. Can be the same perk you're running in your build so you can't cheese a free perk by running the other 2. Still creates a meta but at least it's RNG.

That's a nice idea! I didn't actually think of just adding a power to each survivor but more of a base kit feature that could make them unique to their lore. I'd say either what you suggested or maybe like a small bonus. For example; Claudette is based on healing, so why not make Claudette's base healing speed 10% faster than any other survivor, but her generator repairing speed slower?

  • I only see complains but no solutions. What would ANY of you have done instead of this? Moris are now borderline useless, I agree, but they couldn't just leave them to be as OP as they were.

  • @Mooks said:

that mobile DbD ‚rip off‘ has different survivor abilities and one of them is actually blind! That concept is really really cool

It was licensed btw. Also many survivor's power's are dependant on items that you can also find on chests. I do think that survivors in DbD should be more than just skins though...

  • Why? Because every survivor in this game is desperate to escape and just mock the killer? Most of us survivor mains aren't salty pieces of crap lol. As killer I've never used moris unless the daily and I'll continue to do that until the tweak. Besides, what's the issue with keys? You can't compare having 2 thirds of your task done to just... an alternate way to escape I guess. I play killer too and I literallly don't give a frick about keys at all. When they use them it's just to randomly escape a chase abandoning their team and that's fine for me, I do not care at all.

  • @Raz_ said:

Dudes why are you doing that? this perk is one of the strongest perks in the game.

"but dude its just 2 minutes" yes it is, and 2 minutes is a long time for a killer. you can get 2-3 hooks in that time if you're a good killer.

here is what happens when i play surv and killer has corrupt = i spawn next to a gen with corrupt, im looking for a gen.. while doing so i find a totem/chest etc etc.. i wasted already around 60 seconds what is half a gen and time of 1-2 chases.

without corrupt: i spawn on a gen, start repairing it immiedately and other survivors do the same. 1 chase = 2-3 gens done (IF the survivors arent dumb and scared of gens)

Killer perspective ; Game starts, i go towards the corrupted area, find 1 survivor.. down him.. infectious is popping, downing the next one and i got already 2 hooks in around 60 seconds. hooking = BBQ gives me information, go to the next one. one gen done = Bitter murmur gives me information. and as mainly huntress player i down survivors in 20 seconds MAX and if not i dont chase him anymore and go for the next target. but dont expect corrupt intervention to carry you when you chase a single survivor for 60 seconds.

what is ruin doing? nothing.. you need to pressure survivors of gens to get something out of it, well good luck when you play killer and every survivor spawns in a different gen.

yeah meta ruin - undying blablabla but still that also wont help you when you cant down survivors quick, hook and go to the gen to pressure it.

    my advice use corrupt intervention.

the worst szenario is when survivors play sneaky and that is barely the case for me atleast.

As a Plague main, I feel that corrupt isn't tat good on her. You need to find survivors to infect ASAP and Corrupt will just make them crouch in the corner of the map for two minutes. Can be okay but it's a perk slot I couldve used for another perk that's better on her

If a hag is facecamping, (which does suck, but I digress,) just suicide on hook. There's no penalty, you get BP, killer gets BP, everyone wins.

The problem with DCs is that it's usually done out of spite. A survivor or killer gets upset by one facet of a match and takes it out on others. As a killer main, I have never once DCed, no matter how toxic the survivors were. People have DCed for so many stupid things while facing me:

    I closed the hatch.

    I found them first.

I pulled off a sick mindgame.

    I found their hiding place.

I was about to hook for the 3rd time.

I was running Franklin's and caused them to lose their key.

    I played a certain killer.

    I used a certain perk.

I can agree that may survivors are crybabies. I've seen people just DC cuz we got Léry's or because I was playing Plague just as I infect someone else. But that's not a problem for me, if a survivor decides to die they're abandoning their teammates and that's their own problem. From my part, I'm also a crybaby but I only DC whenever I'm playing against Hag. It's also a bit annoying when u DC cuz ur wifi died

"The ultimate goal of nerfing and buffing isnt to balance, but to make a game that is fun to play and watch"

"Focusing on balancing too much can ruin a game"

    https://youtu.be/bsC8io4w1sY

This is the best video I have ever seen on the Nerf vs. BUFF discussion and uses many examples to demonstrate why it is so challenging to do.

More often it is smarter to BUFF, but coding wise it is easier to nerf.

I think this explains the constant teeter totter that this game is always on quite well

So, how exactly is playing against Hag fun? How is getting 3 moris in a row fun? How is not getting a single kill thanks to the sweaty SWF group with 2 keys you just gone against fun?

    @MythMage said:

This would also explain why Overwatch is in such a bad spot. Both Dead By Daylight and Overwatch are focusing too much on balance and not what is fun. It's why the ultra-rare addons have been garbage recently: they're afraid of making something too powerful. It's like Demo. He's not strong at all, but everyone likes him cuz he's fun. Fun > balance, 100% of the time. A video game is supposed to be fun, not balanced.

Overwatch's case has been analysed for years and it's really similar to DbD tbh. Players giving feedback and showcasing how many characters are underwhelming, but the vast majority will complain about how 1 character is overwhelming and BOOM, nerfed. Just look at the twins, they were classified as underwhelming and camping machines in the PTB and they werent buffed. Coup De Grace was said to be borderline useless so they nerfed it to just make it garbage :D The true balance relies on giving both nerfs and buffs

What can you not comprehend? His first hits have no counterplay. There are players that know how to use him effectively. They will not buff him unless he is reworked. That is the consequence of having a killer that gets totally free hits.

The killer is fine, most people just suck at using him because they cannot run tiles for their hit downs.

this ^^^^^^^^ legion's just so good at slowing the pace of the match use that to your advantage with even more slowdown perks such as thana, ruin, pop or even forced penance (forced penance is good on legion pls try it)

  • All of steve's perks need a buff. I actually like that for once they made a new character who's teachables perfectly sinergise and are useful.

    • Camaraderie: pls make it work on both phases and also if the killer is in range. Increase the radius in which you can be.
    • Babysitter: just remove that the killer sees your aura and also increase the stealth duration.
    • Second Wind: make it sinergise with Deliverance, and make the requirement easier to meet. For example, make it based on the time you have been chased since it's an anti-camping perk
  • As a Plague main, I feel like she's underrated as hell. I know her early game is weak, but that'll get better with practise. Her corrupt purge is just good as hell and even in purple ranks people still cleanse so you get free hits every chase lol.

  • DC Penalties r just there to annoy. I'm not gonna stay to play against that facecamping Hag just cuz if I leave I get a 15 minute penalty in which I can just switch to overwatch lol

  • Most of the totem spawns are the same as before lol. You could equip small game and bring an offering, I tried that a couple times to familiarise with Hawking's spawn points!

  • @EvilJoshy said:

I feel the problem with stealth is the objective of the survivors. The faster you finish those gens the better your chances of escaping. Sadly that means running around. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy stealth. Whenever I play skyrim my sneak skill is always the first to hit lvl 100. I feel stealth has it's place in DBD but it has 3 main problems.

1: The community gives it a bad rep. When you hear stealth you think a P3 Blendette that's crouched in a corner. UE'ing everywhere and not doing gens. There's nothing wrong with using UE to get around but if the killer is occupied you can throw stealth out the window and start running to the nearest gen. Most survivors look down on stealth and often hate message new survivors who try to actually avoid being seen. This causes the new players to think they need to run everywhere.

2: Stealth is like most hex perks for killer. High risk and low reward. Minus a few exceptions(Devour Hope) When a chase begins, losing a killer through stealth is very difficult against decent killers. If it works it's amazing. However if it doesn't work the killer gets a free hit. If your bleeding there's almost no point in trying to stealth. You can bring perks like dance with me, q&q or iron will but that's like bringing toth to protect ruin. Your doubling down. If it doesn't work your at an even greater disadvantage. You could have instead brought 2nd chance perks. Which I feel are too many and too powerful. There's also the killer to consider. If it's someone with a one shot, like bubba, billy, Oni, I don't even try to stealth them. If they find me crouched behind debris it's a free chainsaw.

3: Pallet looping is just so damn good at wasting time. Stealth "might" work. Pallet looping "will" work. Even if your caught, a decent looper can waste enough of the killer's time for the team to repair gens. If a stealthy player manages to lose the killer. Then the killer will go back to patrolling gens and probably find someone else. If the killer is busy chasing someone for 1 min then the rest of the team is practically free from harm to repair the gens.

The issue with pallet looping is that the meta killers right now are good thanks to their ability to deny loops. Spirit, Nurse or Freddy can make loops shorter and get kills faster, also Hag (pls nerf hag) can literally shut down an entire area of the map so yeah that's basically it. Stealth is better agaisnt these killers and I'd love to be able to use that mechanic more.

Fun, now we have to play DS to counter tunnelers, iron will to counter spirits and play with flashlights to counter hags. #########.

Some killers cry about these survivors playing like that, so I don't understand...

So, I just need to bring specific perks and items to "enjoy" playing against certain killers? Why is Hag's only basekit counterplay not moving or moving as slow as a snail? Why do I need to bring DS to every single match? I want to play obsession-less games where no survivors get tunneled or facecamped to death lol. I want to have fun playing against the most boring killer to play as without having to use a flashlight,

  • @maderr said:

What is the project here BHVR ?

I mean, creating killers that you can't counter at all.

    • The Hag
    • Gunslinger
    • PH
    • Stridor Spirit

Every other killers are fine but those are impossible to counter, nothing is working. If the killer is decent it's a 4k all the time without even using mindgame.

The only counter is gen rush which is not really the way i like to play the game.

Spirit should get her "bug nerf" reverted to finally make her balanced.

Deathslinger is okay for me, he's just Huntress x Legion but give it a penalty.

PH is fine now. I don't have trouble against him personally.

Hag needs an entire rework. Her power is awful to play against, and incredibly boring to use too.

Freddy could use a numbers nerf (slight) and he needs a SEVERE add-on rework. Like dream pallets and similars are fine but slow down add-ons are absolutely op. With his mobility and other slow downs like Ruin and Thana gens are literally impossible to do.

  • Hag.She's so broken I can afk for 3 gens then get a 4k if I set up any traps before :D

  • OP all of those killers can be countered by good survivors of SWF groups, you need to focus on the killers that don't actually have any counterplay, Freddy and Hag. Also I slightly disagree with your Nurse statement since certain maps are complete dogcrap for her including Hawkings and the Red Forest.

Forced Penance is one of my favourite perks released over the past year.

I like “keep them injured” builds and slugging builds.

One of my regular “go to” combos for a long time has always been Coulrophobia + Sloppy. It’s surprisingly devastating as a slugging build due to the sheer volume of survivors that are far too altruistic for their own good, rushing in to try and revive a slug before I’ve gotten too far away, only for me to notice out the corner of my eye. It results in WAY too many easy hits and it keeps that slug on the ground, even at high ranks, whereby they stubbornly persist trying to help their teammate till I’m on their butt.

Forced Penance compliments this incredibly well. It completely puts survivors on edge while they’re Broken, and usually will refrain from helping other survivors if I’m still nearby. In this way you can say it kind of acts like NOED. And it’s surprising just how often Forced Penance activates. It’s awesome quickly injuring two survivors, letting the Broken get away (for now), downing the injured one, slug, then relocate the Broken one for a quick easy chase because you know they can’t heal.

that sounds sooo annoying to use. I'll try that with dark devotion sometime

  • @MrLimonka said:

    Furtive chase + Rancor

It's a rancor roulette, where the survivors are scared of unhooking the obsession if they know you have rancor. It can really make a match entertaining.

Not really meta, but it's very fun and gives furtive chase actual value

That sounds sooo satisfying to use. Rancor is already one of my go-to perks on fast moving killers and it's so satisfying to mori the DS user. I'd try that if I had Ghost Face unlocked but i dont :c

  • The best part about this post is how everyone agrees on how the twins r crappy yet they're gonna be released in their current state and even receive a nerf in a perk that was bordeline useless (which will go from that to absolute garbage)

But, despite no Corrupt Purge hitting me visually. I still went down. Both me and the killer had stable Framerates (80MBS at most). Does Corrupt Purge act like the Huntress's Hatchets and The Deathslingers ADS in that it can shoot through small gaps?
