I do ruin, pop, discordance, tinkerer. Nurses? Eh. It’s not good enough without a mangled effect and Pyramid doesn’t want to run sloppy. You can tunnel cages fine without it.

Infectious assumes the survivors are bad. Only a very small handful of killers can use it into a very good team. Pyramid isn’t really one of them, he is too slow.

Lethal persuer might be good but I find discordance to be incredible with tinkerer to gauge which gens are worth going to protect.

I second this build. Ruin, pop, discordance, tinkerer is PH's absolute best perk loadout imo. If I want more BP, I'll swap in BBQ in place of discordance, but it is weaker

Nurse's, infectious fright (not good for snowballing but good for knowing when to cage and when not to), and I'm all ears are really solid perks for PH, but once you get good enough at chase with him, none of those perks are going to do nearly as much for you as ruin/pop/discordance/tinkerer. Although I will say, Nurse's is really really fun on him

I could see STBFL being good on him but I've never had much luck with it. And if I'm being honest, keeping track of stacks and the obsession in a game where the killer already has to keep track of a million other things... that perk exhausts me, but I could see why people would use it. PH's best counterplay as survivor is to hold W, and STBFL is very good for stopping that

  • Not much of an event but at least the cakes are solid. Finally finished p3ing/perking out my handful of killers, after a bajillion years of grinding, so I'm onto perking out and crowning survivors now

  • In the past, I would've said red forest, fractured cowshed, or haddonfield. Those maps are all atrocious, but now I have to go with the new game map

    So. Many. #########. god pallets

  • I just used up a bunch of saved archive challenges and dumped points into Nemmy, PH, Doc, Spirit, and Wraith. Seemed to be getting 1-4 cakes per web on all of them

  • Ah... well, that would require WORK. So that's why they haven't changed

  • Nope. Swamp/Farm/Badham cycle for me :(

  • 100% agree. I can't believe that there still aren't graphical setting or brightness options available for console. So many of these optimization problems would solve themselves if BHVR would just give some of that control to the players

  • I actually cannot believe that they didn't do a balance pass on those maps when doing the graphical overhaul. I have no idea what gave them the impression that fractured cowshed and rotten fields were OK as is

  • I can't remember who coined the term, but they called this teammate induced tunneling. If you unhook a teammate in the terror radius and don't take aggro, you're farming your teammate. Best case scenario is that they just get slugged

  • I would normally say Spirit/Hag/Freddy but lately my experience has been... Trapper, oddly enough. Haven't been running crazy add-ons or perks... or playing basement trapper or anything... people apparently just can't handle how super overpowered trapper is

  • I expect:

    • Minor bugs no one knew about to be fixed
    • Major optimization issues to not be mentioned
    • New map still disabled
    • "Nemesis was overperforming, will now require 4 hits to down"
  • Doubly forgettable considering they said they were going to nix all other events just so they could focus on making the anniversary and halloween events even better...

  • He needs a rework to not be so god damn miserable to play as, not a nerf. There are a dozen killers better than him right now. It's been almost a year since his rework, they should scrap all the basekit changes they made to him and fix his POV/animation issues. He was the most perfectly balanced killer in the game before they hobbled him

  • Most of these perks do little to nothing - it would be hard to notice them doing anything good. No Mither doesn't do much good, and also actively shoots you in the foot. It's like if speed limiter was a perk

  • Ghostface. Would be an upgrade if the reveal mechanic actually worked 10% of the time

  • You can use the vaccine for (essentially) a free mettle of man proc/free health state. That hurts Nemmy much more than it helps him

The issue isn't graphics, it's code. The PS4 handles games like Bloodborne just fine, BHVR's code has still not been fixed. And I suppose they never plan to fix it.

Which will backfire on them, actually. Due to HOW the code is terrible, it'll lead to 30 FPS problems on next gen consoles if they keep adding new content.

Oh, I will absolutely offer no argument against that. Optimization is horrendous and has been for a long time. The problem is just magnified on console though because PC at least can set the DBD graphical options to "low", whereas console is just permanently locked into "ultra" settings

  • He was pretty widely considered the worst. After his rework, he's been upgraded to somewhere within the bottom 5 killers. Never been good and probably never will be, unfortunately

  • @BenihimeWrath said:

Devs, please just add the ability to downgrade the graphics that are on PC to the consoles. I'm getting tired of staring straight at a survivor but the shadows are so dark they are the exact same shade as the stupid wall.

100% this. Last gen consoles would run the game much more smoothly if they weren't auto-set to Ultra graphics with no means of changing it

  • But seriously, it feels like the only reason there aren't 2 piece sets is just... money. Ghostface had his original scream cosmetic back in the day that was 3 piece. It wasn't linked, and seeing as the mask was EXACTLY the same in a slightly slightly whiter shade, and the knife was pretty much the same too, most people just bought the robe/body cosmetic.

That could've easily been a 1 or 2 piece set, but BHVR made it 3 piece because a lot of people probably just bought the outfit without thinking. Linked sets make it worse because the useless cosmetics are bundled with the rest of the set

  • Why make a 2 piece set when you can make Jill's head exactly the same and charge an extra $4 for it?

Most f2p mobile games I know use either gatcha, stamina, or both. I'd much rather pay for exactly what I know I'm getting instead of a chance at getting what I need.

Not saying DBD is worse than most free to play games out there, I really wouldn't know. But the fact that there are any free to play games with cheaper skin prices says a lot on its own. DBD is bigger, and the base game plus characters can cost between $100-$200 depending on how full of a roster you're getting. And they still have the gall to charge that much for skins on top of that

And before we talk about earning stuff with shards... it's 60+ hours to do that for one character. Some free to play mobile games also have less grind to unlock stuff for free. Skin sets with shards (if it's one of them that's available), could take 200+ hours for a legendary

Loot boxes are bullshit - 100% agree, I'm not talking about those. $15 for a skin with no other added features is just a LOT, especially when the core game and content is already this expensive. That's well past the point of BHVR just trying to keep the company books out of the red

  • I've seen free to play mobile games with less predatory cosmetic prices. Honestly, I'd have probably dropped another $50+ on skins if they were reasonably priced. And also not linked.

So I don't think you're crazy for looking at those prices and thinking they are comically high for what's on offer

  • But ... each tentacle hit gives a whopping 0.25 seconds of hindered! 1/4 second! It's like 1/10th of a clown bottle that's much harder to land, and that also gives them a sprint burst. Clown confirmed OP

But seriously, I definitely agree with all of that. I'm disappointed with the state Nemmy's in, but it does feel like he can definitely be salvaged with a few changes. This doesn't feel like he's in need of a full rework or anything drastic, just some common sense adjustments. I'd also like for T3 to do something more meaningful than add 1m of range, but that feels like less of a critical issue

  • Agreed, that would be 1,000 times better. I have no idea where these daily ideas come from. Doctor's one can be done in 20 seconds. Nurse's in 2 minutes or less. PH's takes me 3 games on average... land dozens of punishment hits, but no one runs into torment trails

Some consistency on the difficulty of dailies would be great

  • It'd be nice for T3 to do something meaningful, but right now, I mostly just want Nemmy to not need 3 hits to down someone. Removing the speed boost for a contamination hit would go a long way

In general I agree, but I do kinda want BT's endurance to remove collision so there's no bodyblocking. If I catch a survivor going for a rescue and target them, it feels really bad that I get punished for -not- tunnelling.

This. I would be 100% cool with removing collision in exchange for making it 15 seconds duration again. BT bodyblocking doesn't really have a counter in a lot of situations. BT should protect against tunneling, not make a survivor an unstoppable meat shield for 12 seconds

  • Bubba's widely considered B tier. Playing him a few matches at red ranks will be enough to illustrate that he's not even close to OP

Let's break it down: I should start this by saying this is written with the confidence that his speed boost on infection will be done away with.

Demo: Honestly don't know as I rarely play against him and never played as him.

Slinger: Slower movements speed, dropping a pallet early means he CAN take 3 hits to down and also stun himself doing it. No map pressure.

Doctor: Better tracking? Absolutely. However it takes shocks, can't destroy pallets quickly so I'm not seeing how it's a "better anti-loop." He's also very easily deprived of his tracking with either one perk or a locker.

Billy: All he has is mobility and insta down, which is pretty map dependent.

Plague: Probably slightly better but that's only because his infect gives speed boost. I'd rate them the same when that's fixed. If they don't cleanse, she has no ranged unless add-ons and it can take her 3 hits since her non powered puke counts as one and isn't an immediate injury.

    Bubba: Probably, yeah.

Wraith has mobility and thus map pressure, but a meh anti-loop without the right add-ons. You know he's basically just a fast and stealthy M1 killer.

Freddy: Snares are not a better anti-loop, they only affect sleeping targets and require time to set. Someone can still trigger a snare and keep the loop up. He has good slowdown and pressure by teleports though.

His biggest problem is the speed boost on initial infection, because without that he's much better. Then it would be no different from Plague puke or Doc shock.

As for worse early game: Trapper, Ghostface, Haaag? Pig is a mix imo, early game can either go really well or really badly. Deathslinger (slow movement speed) Doctor can be really bad if you stupid your static blast and find no one. But yeah, his early game is basically just the same as Oni.

Ah, if we're talking about Nemmy after a post-contamination speed boost is removed, that's a pretty big buff and I would agree he'd be much better after that. Feels like that's the biggest thing shooting him in the foot right now. I'd definitely agree that 2/3 of the roster would not be better than him if that change went through. I guess I should've just simplified my wall of text to just say that the speed boost is what's holding Nemmy back imo. Removing that would really make him much much better

Doc I feel is a bit underrated. Currently on a 20ish game win streak with him. You can pretty much get full madness with 4 shocks, which happens pretty quickly around a loop. As far as anti-loop goes, dedicated servers kind of make it so that you almost never prevent a vault or pallet drop, but it works out well anyways because then they'll be stuck on one side and you can either go around to get a hit, or at the least, zone them out and pallet break. If they don't drop the pallet, they will eventually go down, it's just a matter of time. It's true that lockers will pretty much hard counter the static blast but it's still wasting time if they're going to hide in lockers, so it's not a net loss overall either way. First static blast of the game is pretty much a more useful version of Lethal Pursuer if you have a rough idea of spawn locations on maps already

True true, I forgot about setup killers. Agreed on pig as well. Does suck when you completely miss the first static blast as doc but that's pretty rare in my experience

Okay but how? How are two thirds outright better than him? He has a ranged attacked, automatic, near unstoppable map pressure that can either waste time or pallets and he gets stronger as the game progresses. In the case of comparing to most other killers, better is a subjective opinion instead of objective.

Alright, let's quickly look at killers weaker than him. Trapper/Legion/Trickster/Pig/Myers/Clown/Ghostface. I think we can all agree Nemmy is better than them, at least

General consensus seems to be that S and A tier killers are leagues above Nemmy too. So let's ignore Nurse/Spirit/Blight/Hag/Oni/PH/Huntress/Twins. That's 8 killers better than him

So what's left is Freddy/Wraith/Bubba/Doctor/Plague/Billy/Slinger/Demo. We could be here for hours talking this, so I'll just make some quick points:

Demo - can shred pallets slightly better, has much better zoning, and has roughly the same range with his shred. Can hit much easier (not a tiny hitbox). Does not require 3 hits to down. Portals are Ok-ish at times

Slinger - I never played him so I can't really comment

Billy - Sad chainsaw boy isn't as good as he used to be. Map mobility is still great though, as is the occasional insta-down

Plague - Infection is 100 times better than contamination, and you only need to get a small bit on them. Downs typically require one hit rather than 3. Ranged ability is objectively leagues better, but time limited

Doctor - Far better tracking, passive slowdown caused by madness tier 3 if used properly, better anti-loop. He's pretty basic, but doesn't require 3 hits to down

Bubba - Pallet shredding monster with an insta-down. Windows can be a problem but both he and Nemmy require you to be close to the survivor to do damage, and Bubba in close range is waaaaay more dangerous than Nemmy

Wraith - Map mobility now is crazy good, and post-uncloak lunge is a pretty solid anti-loop tool. Combine that with the mangled add-on and MYC, Nemmy is nowhere near as lethal and difficult to play around. Wraith can almost always get a first hit for "free"

Freddy - he's whatever but gen teleporting map mobility is still solid and snares are better anti-loop than tentacle

That's 16 killers that Nemmy is worse than, imo. 2/3 of the killer roster. You might be seeing a common trend here - none of these other killers require 3 hits to down.

One other point - honest question, which of these killers has a worse early game than Nemmy? Oni and Myers would be the only ones I can think of, and Oni has plenty to compensate for that later on

Nope. I'm outperforming all my Killers with him, including my Main, Bubba. And getting even nastier as I improve with him game by game.

I would not have expected that. I'm not particularly good with Bubba but I'd be stomping with him compared to Nemmy

Unsolicited advice, but you should give PH a shot if you haven't. Mostly the same playstyle as Nemmy (punishing pallets/narrow pathways/window vaults) and you need to prep the attack a little earlier, but he's pretty much better in every other way. If you're doing well with Nemmy, you'd be steamrolling survivors with PH

  • @FrndlyChnswSalzmn said:

Still doing fine with Nemesis. You guys are using him wrong.

I think that's kind of missing the point though. If you're good at playing killer in general, you can still manage to do ok with garbage killers like legion and trapper

If you're doing well with Nemesis, you'd do much better by picking 2/3 of the killer roster instead. It's not that it's impossible to win with him - it's that he sucks when compared to the bulk of the roster

  • Patch 5.0.1 notes:

    • Nemesis tentacle was too powerful, so it now heals injured survivors on hit
  • As someone that pretty much mains PH, I like most of your suggestions but I would say the opposite - PH is objectively better than Nemmy on virtually every level. Honestly, I'd argue that PH is far better designed than Nemmy in his current state. To your points:

1.) I agree that rites of the damned isn't the most useful thing, but it does have uses. Some survivors will not run a loop properly just to avoid running into a trail, which gives you a free hit. Other survivors will ignore it and run through (usually the better idea for them), which gets them tormented. I like to leave survivors tormented until they're either death hook or when DS might be a factor. Outside of loops - yes, it is (mostly) useless. At loops, it has a purpose

2.) I agree that it should inflict torment, but it's still arguably the strongest ranged attack in the game if used properly. Not the easiest thing to use right off the bat though. You need to figure out the timing and prepare it much earlier. The only advantages Nemmy's attack has is that it's a little quicker to use and you can move more freely while aiming. Otherwise, PH's punishment is better in every way imaginable

3.) Caging should only be used to circumvent DS, send a survivor across the map if you know all others are close by, or to quickly deal with the downed survivor to continue a chase with another nearby survivor. For those purposes, it's much much better than hooking. Outside of those scenarios - yes, you are better off hooking. But having the option to choose is great

4./5.) Torment allowing caging or insta-mories is more than enough. I can't think of another status effect that does more for a killer

    To your suggestions:

1.) I agree that inflicting torment with a punishment hit would be a great change. I guess I personally find oblivious to be the most useless status effect before blindness, so I don't see much of a downside or benefit to it being added there

2.) PH's add-ons do suck, so all those changes would be great

3.) This one feels a bit too strong to me because it would encourage and reward cage camping. I can't imagine BHVR will ever revert the change to prevent PH from seeing cages

4.) Wouldn't that be a nerf? I don't see an issue with the current requirement of death hook + torment for the final judgment, but I think I'm misinterpreting what you wrote there

  • I would mostly agree. I think Nemmy's stronger than Trickster, Trapper, Legion, Clown, Pig, Myers, and maybe ghostface, but even that leaves 16 other killers that are stronger than him.

Doctor's way better. Nerfed billy is still probably better. I can't really compare Nemmy to any B-tier killers and honestly say that he's better than them in his current state. His early game is almost Myers/Oni levels of bad, and he doesn't have the stronger mid-late game Oni play to compensate. Myers and Oni are probably the only 2 killers that take longer to get the first down, and a bad early game pretty much guarantees a loss with Nemmy. Hard to get 11 hooks with 2 gens remaining

  • PH hits through walls

Nemmy can't hit over a small rock if the survivor is crouched. He can't hit through the side of a window from 45 degrees. He can't hit over most cars. He definitely can't hit through solid walls. AND he needs 3 hits to down when his attack is much harder to land than PH's.

The only reason to play Nemmy over a handful of other killers right now is if you just really like the character. He is objectively worse than the majority of A and B tier killers. Nowhere near as good as PH/Huntress/Demo/Plague etc. right now

  • Dude they just need to make short range deerstalker basekit at this rate if they're never going to fix that. I've been noticing it more in my matches too

  • Probably not much longer. Seems like most streamers are already saying he's C or, at best, B tier in his current state

God I hope they get rid of the 3 hit requirement. I can get a first down faster with trapper than with Nemmy most games

  • I think it could definitely be better, (better sound effects, more of a hook rather than a jab) but if I'm being honest, I still find it immensely satisfying in its current state

  • Definitely agreed. I like that these legendary skins at least went to the trouble of adding a new voice, but Claire looks like a zombie with that face

  • @Ferrari334 said:

Lol what!!! No, it is absurdly small if anything. Demo is way better than Nemesis right now at close-range attacks. They really needed to get creative with his mutation levels but just decided to release a Demo/Plague hybrid that is somehow weaker than both.

For real. I had to clip this one just to show how tight the aiming needs to be. For PH/Demo/Huntress, that aim easily would've been a hit

    https://youtu.be/n2rWsqpwJ9w

  • This. He feels like playing pyramid head with a bunch of handicaps. Essentially the same power, except with less width/range and you need 3 hits to down. And you also get screwed by LOS blockers and survivors crouching behind them

Nemmy's power is nowhere near good enough to warrant all the downsides it has

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/257450/3-hits-to-down-with-nemmy-feels-a-bit-rough

From what I have seen, the hitbox on Nemesis’s tentacle is absurdly generous. Good Nemesis players will have no issue landing three hits in succession, pallets and windows are hardly safe against this killer.

I guess that's not really been my experience so far - I'd honestly say that his hitbox feels twice as unforgiving as PH's attack, imo. You can use it in the same way, but the range/width/angles are much more limited. Not to mention the LOS blockers and crouching invincibility. Take all that with a grain of salt, I'm playing on console. Might be easier on PC

Let's say I were to agree about good Nemmy players being able to land 3 hits at pallets/windows in quick succession. I guess my bigger gripe would be that the best counterplay to him then would be to just hold W, which is boring for everyone. That works well against PH too, but it's so much worse with Nemmy because of the 2 speed boosts and 3 hit requirement

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Initial infection should not grant a speed boost. Imagine if survivors got to zoom away after getting puked on by plague. And Plague's infection is arguably a lot stronger since at max power it reduces the hits to down to ONE instead of letting you do the normal two.

    Excellent point

  • That is redonkulous. Linked sets are bad enough on their own (even worse with the post purchase surprise you got there) but that $4 head cosmetic is comical

  • Fully agreed. Pyramid Head's attack is much easier to use and hit with, and it still doesn't have any of the downsides that Nemmy's attack does. Tentacle should either always do damage, or not give a speed boost on hit. He's always going to be a much weaker version of PH until they change that

  • I feel like he is a little on the weaker side just due to the fact that you often need 3 hits to down a survivor. 2 speed boosts in chase is a huge deal.

I do think that's valid criticism when people say he's a weaker pyramid head. PH can get the hit easier, and he always only needs 2 hits to down every time

  • Absolutely. $5 gets you a new survivor skin, with a new voice and new perks. $5 also gets you a new killer, with a new voice, new perks, and new gameplay.

A $15 legendary skin gives you... a new survivor/killer skin that can't be mixed and matched with other skins. Why would I ever buy a legendary skin when it adds so little value?

  • Toss up between dead hard and unbreakable for me. But one unbreakable can pretty much single handedly win a match. I had one match with 4 slugged at 3 gens, then ended up with a 1k after a single unbreakable reset the team

  • Not directly a gen slowdown perk, but sloppy butcher actually pairs pretty well with ruin/pop if you're having a bunch of fast games. Doesn't work on certain killers, but most killers can always get value out of it. If they spend time healing, that gives ruin and pop more value. If they don't heal, you can punish that decision

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 10
