Despite what all the killer mains are telling you. The game isnt survivor-sided, it's killer-sided.
you don't have to be a killer main to know that the game is survivor sided lol
-
it's not a bug. queues are awful right now for killer unfortunately
-
oh my god thinking those killers naturally have a ton of trouble at killer shack
i don't have much else to say. i think i'm just talking to mediocre to bad killer players who think they understand how these loops work
-
@Dehitay said:
What the heck were you doing that this change actually affected the way you loop at shack? The fast vault changes only affected exploits that allowed fast vaults specifically where they were supposed to be impossible. Are survivors so good at finding exploits that they could fast fault the 90 degree turn into the window from outside shack?
why is it always someone with a bill picture saying something like this
-
any particular reason i can look directly at him for an extended period of time and not take him out of his power

But a good surv can easily run out the timer by using pallets and windows to run out the timer including if they have sprint burst lithe or balanced landing
that means they need to play extra safe and throw down pallets early
if this change went through they'd just go down for free, which i assume is what you really want from this killer
fortunately it's never going to happen
-
the only thing ruining the event right now is ghostface being bugged

you are right about people playing with SWF that ITSELF is fine and nothing wrong with it, what IS WRONG is when SWF uses 3rd party programs like Discord to communicate with eachother, which the devs DID NOT ALLOW and actually it is ILLEGAL according to the ToS. THAT is what is wrong with SWF
lol
good luck enjoying killer with this mindset
-
yeah this change does nothing to help with the actual problem loops and just nerfs already manageable ones. needs a revert
-
it's important to nerf vaults when they already don't work properly so that people can get hit through windows even more often
-
i'm glad all blendettes will now be able to treat their claudettes correctly by giving them cute outfits instead of blendy ones

@miaasma I’ve faced and watched good survivors play against a good billy, his curving at loops did not matter.
i promise it does
even good survivors can acknowledge a scary billy and even an experienced survivor can have a hard time gauging how greedy is too greedy
i've seen very good survivors get curved at normal loops by some of the best billies around. give billy his due, he's much less loopable than m1 killers

The shack..is an infinite. It's the most notorious infinite in the game. The fact that you don't know that shows you're actually just a baby survivor. You really must be new, lol.
Your opinion is from now on invalid. Since you actually don't know what balance is.
oh...my god
well, this contextualizes a lot
-

I did watch the clip; and that's how it should be. You should not be able to fast vault at an angle to abuse infinites like that. You should need momentum to do that. Period.
Stop parroting your favorite survivor main streamers. They have no clue what balance is for the most part. They see it from one side and one side only. It does NOT limit mind games - it just makes mind games actually take a brain. So, get yourself one of those if you don't have one already, and you'll adapt. Stop looking for ez games ez life. Learn to survive without your infinites.
man, you really aren't willing to discuss this in good faith at all and it shows
the fact that you just called shack an infinite pretty much invalidates any balance contribution you could ever give anyway
-
@Paladin_Goo said:
Why? To re-enable the infinites? As a survivor main who has been playing a lot of killer for the blood hunt, I can say this was a good change. You can loop it a couple times, but after that you gotta boogie somewhere else.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/533531#Comment_533531
"One of the only things survivors have to their advantage"
You must be new. The advantages survivors have far outweigh that of the killer. Not opinion. Demonstrable fact.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/533723#Comment_533723
That's actually what I'd say to you. Can't survive without your little window infinites?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/533625#Comment_533625
Tell me, what "fair" loops will suffer from this? I'm dying to know, lol
jungle gyms suffer hugely from this change and it removes variety from how you can loop it, making it much easier for killers despite jungle gyms being mindgameable tiles
it dumbs down chases in general
it almost makes shack much weaker if there's a generator in it
-
oh don't worry i've been used to it since i got bloodlusted at my very first pallet so very long ago

Fine, that's your opinion.
I typed what I think it's happening in the game. Not what I would like to happen, or my idea to balance it, or my wishlist. Whatever.
"The blade that cuts both ways" is meant to represent the seemingly preferred method of patching problems with band-aids, over the more effective way of fixing broken stuff by reworking chore mechanics in the game.
right, but even if i agreed that "the blade cuts both ways" (and i don't), that doesn't mean vocalizing complaints about this specific change isn't totally fair and justified. they've even indicated that they're looking at redesigning maps, and they've mentioned a desire to change problem windows for a while now. with that in mind, this change seems very out of left field
-
legion and pig are both fine to be honest
i don't really understand the outrage
-
enduring didn't really counter endgame DS anyway
-

This blade cuts both ways.
DS screws killers that don't tunnel, too.
Legion nerf screwed killers that didn't abuse the mechanics, too.
EGC screws survivors that didn't troll and were jerks, too.
EGC screws Piggy players, too.
And so on.
this isn't really a legitimate argument regardless of the validity of any of these points (and i don't really agree with any of them, to be honest) because breaking something else to add to the pile isn't the solution either way
-
@Catbucket said:
The vault changes are the first step in killing infinite loops, sorry, but thats the direction the game is headed. If you already have a problem, you are going to be very unhappy as the map reworks start.
the problem with this is that it ruins tons of loops that are not infinites
instead of fixing the problematic loops themselves they made a catch-all change that impacts survivors extremely negatively
it's a bad change and i hope it gets reverted
-
this was changed for no reason and it's just about as devastating as i thought it would be

@miaasma good survivors can 180 it and avoid it :PPPP
good billies can account for that pretty easily
again i'm not trying to be condescending but i'm not sure you guys have really watched good billies in practice
he's only loopable to a degree, after which point a good billy will curve you. he's much more punishing at loops than m1 killers
-
agreed, it's a really bad addition to the game that nobody asked for
-
that would be absolute nonsense
-
he's got a dad bod
-
you're both wrong lol
billy can curve at loops
you've never seen a good billy apparently

@edgarpoop I play at rank 4 without addons, what are you talking about. I win like 90% of my matches. She doesn't have room for errors, but she's definitely good without addons. The most ridiculous one I've ever heard is that Billy doesn't need addons lol. He can rarely get a flick without them, he's a faster Leatherface without them.
you can definitely get flicks without addons, tuning guide + engravings just make it easier
i do my best not to run ruin on anyone. currently, i only run it on huntress and myers. i need corrupt intervention on my hag/trapper, and eventually on both huntress and myers as well. on all other killers though i focus on trying to apply as much pressure as possible early on
my reasoning for doing this is that relying on a perk that can just vanish within 30 seconds is an unhealthy tendency and it allows you to get much better at spreading pressure
for example, my wraith build is BBQ + enduring + spirit fury + brutal strength. deleting pallets ASAP is a core part of playing most killers and it gets me good results at high ranks
-
i honestly hope dedicated servers take longer than that to come out. based on the last test in the PTB they needed a lot of work. and something like that can't come out in this game before it's ready. poorly done dedicated servers could actually kill their game, it's very precarious
-
@DBDbuildsYT said:
In many loops you can see the killer thus it is simply a matter or knowing how many loops you can do before throwing the pallet, it is not skill, it is based on the fact that as a survivor with a smaller hitbox you are less proclive of bumping into things that can slow you down.
With the smaller hitbox you can go in an optimal tour around the obstacle, something that is FORBIDDEN to the killer due to his/her larger hitbox.
With a 3rd person camera you can see angles and distances easier, with 1st person view it's much harder.
It is a borderline exploit, which abuses a game mechanic which is simply stupid.
It takes a couple of months to learn how to loop well around pallets, you just need to do it until you understand, it doesn't take skill it is simply an exercise in repetition. I know this because I studied around 10 ohtofu videos and practiced and now I am a decent looper, but it is simply an exercise in repetition.
This has to go, it doesn't fit a horror game in any way, the purpose should be to run AWAY, not to run AROUND
i don't think a conversation with you is going to go anywhere so i'll just let you think any of this is correct and bow out
-
looping is definitely skill-based; judging distances, judging lunge range, judging bloodlust, knowing when to leave a loop, etc.
if it wasn't skill based, some people wouldn't suck at it
-
it is
the addition of new medium vaults sort of messed up resilience, to the chagrin of many (including myself, i was a resilience enthusiast), but it's making its comeback this patch
-

You haven't read the rest, they should have thr option of sprinting at a cost of their stamina. While sprinting they can outrun any killer, but them they need to slow down to regeneration their stamina
this is maybe in the top 10 worst ideas for this game that i've read on a dbd forum, which is a prestigious achievement
-
it doesn't really matter if bloodlusting is efficient; it's boring and it sucks to play against, the same way playing against old legion was boring and sucked to go against. legion would down you no matter what you did, and bloodlust gets you downed no matter what you do at any loop that isn't explicitly safe like killer shack
and while you don't need bloodlust to outplay unsafe pallets, it is frequently used as a replacement for actual mindgaming, something that the removal of safe loops will only encourage if bloodlust is not looked at
-
you don't need BL 3 to bloodlust unsafe pallets
either way, we shouldn't be directing the game towards less skillful play and more use of handholdy mechanics
-
resilience is great now that it affects vault speed again

I have an addiction to Hope. I don't want to run it, yet I find it proccing game after game.
hope is amazing and very underrated
-
pallet campers just live for the 1000 stun points
the irony is that walking into a pallet is the correct play usually, but when you know someone's bad and doesn't know how to loop respecting it makes sense and denies them of points
breaking chase with these people after they eat through pallets to then chase people through the dead zones they create is always nice
-
you can't mindgame haddonfield loops against a survivor who is paying attention because the loops are too long
if you get mindgamed on haddonfield, gg

Your Claudette is super cute , tho :)
thank you 😍 it's hard to believe people want to blend with her when she can look so adorable
-
think about how boring it is to look for hiding survivors all game
i don't think any sane person wants that to be the entire game
-
@Ihatelife said:
They're planning to make shorter loops at pallets and windows, so it will require more skills from survivors to mindgame a killer.
you mean it'll take less bloodlust to hit survivors
i'm very lukewarm about the imminent pallet change. they need to look at bloodlust if they want more short loops. right now short pallets are extremely unsafe to the point where they can't really be looped at all due to bloodlust
-
you think nurse requires skill and hillbilly doesn't? you don't encounter good billies then
-
i enjoy playing survivor a little more purely due to the social aspect
it's fun to interact with the killer and play like an idiot and die
i have fun, the killer gets points, i die for my teammates so they get out, everyone wins
-
some people don't like staying on the ground for an extended period of time while you look for the 4th survivor
-
either that or they're memeing
-
most of the issues around "looping" stem from bad map design (pseudo infinites like the ironworks window, stupidly strong setup spawns, etc.)
if that gets addressed you could just remove bloodlust
