playing against? hillbilly, huntress, wraith, leatherface, myers, pig if they aren't being boring and tunneling active traps
my favourite killer is wraith, though i don't play him much with mettle in the game, so i've been playing a lot of hillbilly and huntress, both of whom i like a lot
-
weren't totem spawn locations supposedly tweaked so that survivors couldn't simply spawn in front of them? the amount of times i've spawned effectively looking at a lit totem at the beginning of the game, or my totem is gone before 30 seconds have passed, is absurd
keep them away from generators, keep them out of open fields on asylum/coldwind maps, and hex perks won't be such coin flips, either impacting a game heavily or being cleansed so quickly they may as well not have been equipped to begin with
right now i think corrupt intervention is a much better perk for killers who need setup time like trapper and hag, and for slower killers like huntress who lack the ability to pressure larger maps effectively
-
larger maps are bad for the game, i agree
the solution is not to make more maps like The Game, though
coal tower is a small map and is probably one of the best balanced maps for killers and survivors, i don't know why they don't follow that formula more with some variation to make their maps unique. pretty much every new map is a slog on survivor and horrible on killer

Why do you want to rank up anyway? Enjoying long queue times?
i don't, i just thought i'd point out that, for someone who does want to rank up (to play against friends who are high rank survivors, for example), certain killers are much better options than others for doing so

leatherface is a horrible killer that is made even worse by wonky object hitboxes that cause you to bump into something you aren't even touching
i'd love for him to get buffed

She's not really a basic M1 Killer. She can use her crouch to mindgame and since she loses her Terror Radius you can play with her crouch effectively. Brute Force build would be an alternative. But I like the build I suggested there which I normally use and works quite well.
that only really works at certain loops, she otherwise functions as a normal m1 killer which means you still get looped normally at most tiles
-
pig is an m1 killer and benefits from perks that help during chase like enduring, spirit fury and brutal strength (though using all 3 is probably overkill)
-
spirit is the second strongest killer in the game, in that she breaks the game similarly to how nurse does but is far less mobile and effective, even though she arguably has less counterplay than nurse does aside from running specifically anti-spirit perks like iron will. neither killer is hard to play either, since nurse only requires practice at blinking and you can forego learning anything else about the game, and spirit pretty much just does it all for you as long as you have a good set of headphones

I doubt it does.
one of the very few ways to get survival points is to escape from bear traps, so yes it does
-
agreed with the above, playing survivor helps immensely in becoming a good killer
this is why the best killer players are also good survivor players, and why the really bad (and most vocal) killer players either don't touch survivor or are bad at it. you notice this pattern a lot the more you play
it helps both in gameplay as well as perspective, especially when you understand the weaknesses and woes of both sides
-
wait i already responded to this thread, i have goldfish memory apparently
-
whispers is my tracking perk of choice
nurse's calling is excellent, also for tracking but you can get snipes with it
discordance is a good choice too
-
to be fair it was probably a poor idea to nerf healing and then release two killers whose powers predicated on survivors being healthy (although in plague's case it's less about healing and more about interacting with fountains), on top of the fact that many legion players run sloppy butcher for some reason, further discouraging people from wasting time healing
-
i main wraith but playing him is more of a chore than anything with Mettle of Man in its current state so i've been playing more billy lately
-
they've been dropping more frequent updates and hotfixes rather than waiting for larger patches lately
could they be prompter with the fixes for the more serious bugs? sure, but the effort is clearly there and they're improving a lot
-
i've lost progress pretty recently; p3'd my laurie, the next day she was back to p2 level 40 or something. it happens to both sides
-
the game is better balanced than it's ever been but that doesn't mean there aren't improvements to be made on both sides
the devs are obviously aware of this, based on their continued efforts to balance the game. listening to the community, especially veterans with a lot of hours, goes a long way to helping with overall balance. think the legion rework, or fixing coldwind tiles so the walls aren't see-through. attempts like these to make the game more serviceable to both sides indicate a genuine desire to balance it on the part of the devs

if anything kills this game it's the technical issues and crashing
it's great that we no longer lose items and offerings when someone fails to load in and we're sent back to the main menu, but the frequency with which this happens still makes the game much harder to enjoy than it should be
i'm pretty sure part of the reason they're hesitant to address rampant DCing is because of how many DCs and ingame crashes are caused by the game and not the player, and this will need to be solved before any action is taken towards DCing as a whole
on top of that, there are reasonable scenarios where DCing is (or should be) considered an acceptable action; the killer's ping suddenly skyrocketing and making the game unplayable, getting stuck in a tree or some other bug occurring that prevents you from playing the game, a killer or survivor holding another survivor hostage indefinitely, etc. even other people in the game DCing, making the game a 3v1 or worse, is reasonable grounds to not want to play the game out at an unfair disadvantage
obviously the aforementioned are not the kinds of DCs this thread is about, but if any kind of automated punishment system is implemented then they will be indistinguishable from people who just DC on their first down. in short, all DCs are not equal, but any streamlined system will treat them as such, and such systems have mixed receptions in other games
my own personal take is that removing the pip loss from DCing was a huge mistake, as now tons of people are freely DCing from games without fear of losing their rank; i've noticed a huge increase in DCs in my games since this change was implemented, and whether or not it was done on purpose (if it was, my guess was to discourage DCing to derank, even though deranking is still very much possible by just suiciding on first hook or throwing the game), it should be reverted ASAP. a surprising number of people care about rank, it turns out
