  • where was this survivor-sided bias when borrowed time was bugged and didn't work for the entire legion patch

  • i know

    i'm not a pre-patch legion main though, so i don't do it

  • good billy players are still around

i rarely see good nurses, just nurses who crutch on range addons or extra blinks for easier games

there are more spirit players than either category though. that's the real problem

  • imagine saying dead hard isn't a skillful perk but balanced landing is

  • why is this something that needs to be removed

who cares if some dumbass is proud that they're escaping after being a gen jockey all game

tell them to get well soon and go next

  • thanks

i'm getting green pings again so i guess whatever was happening has stopped

  • i was solo queueing

i think it's the latter option. about to start my game up again, maybe it's fixed

  • the reason it works the way it does is because of the killer pickup animation being changed during the legion patch

you have to stun/flashlight blind the killer right at the end of the animation (in the case of flashlights, before the killer has the opportunity to look away)

it's always worked this way, with a specific timing in mind. that timing changes if the killer pickup animation is changed, as dropping a pallet or blinding a killer before the animation is completed means they will not drop the survivor

  • matchmaking is meant to match you based on geolocation

i know there are NA killers queueing at this time, meaning i shouldn't be getting lobbies with 180+ ping (the lobby pings ranged from 200-300, i would have taken a 180 ping at that point), meaning i was experiencing an issue with matchmaking. i made this thread wondering if anyone else was, and you came in telling me to change a word in my title despite knowing exactly what i was talking about (and there being no evidence that anyone else has had trouble understanding the point of the thread)

  • rank 9 at the moment

i'd try and rank up but every lobby is 200+ ping

  • @Daniel101773 said:

Sounds like personal internet issues and I don’t say that to be a jerk, check your local areas status. I haven’t had any issues tonight.

i already addressed this, it's not my internet. the pings are consistently high, and every north american person in the lobby dodges. it looks more like a geolocation matchmaking bug where people are being placed in killer lobbies from other regions

@GrootDude right now? maybe 20 seconds, but it varies

  • this reminds me of the whole "deranking is murder" garbage

whenever people have nothing left to say they go "this video game thing is like this terrible real life crime" it's like clockwork i swear

  • uh, yes, i'm sure it's not just mine. they aren't laggy lobbies, they're lobbies of killers from different regions. other people from NA who appear in the lobbies also comment as such before leaving

    i play on PC

  • @Dehitay yeah dude putting your game on a live stream and then taunting them in-game is totally comparable to setting somebody's belongings on fire and killing their pet

i'm so glad i decided to talk to you. what an eye opener

Just because "don't blame the victim" has become the battle cry of a brain dead generation doesn't mean that victims are never responsible. If you have your name set to t.tv/ObviousPrey, start teabagging and flashlight harassing the killer, and then get stream sniped, then yes it's the killer's fault for stream sniping you. However, if you think that the moron who walked straight into it doesn't bear any responsibility, then you're wildly mistaken. Getting stream sniped in DbD is actually rather difficult unless you're a major streamer or you make it ridiculously easy to do. So unless you're a major streamer, just don't make it easy if you hate being stream sniped so much.

i'm going to simplify this for you as much as possible so that i never have to read another generational rant from you again

putting your game on a livestream does not force anyone to go into your stream. the stream sniper had the agency to decide whether or not to snipe you, and elected to on their own free will. nothing you did forced their hand, and the ball was completely in their court to snipe or cheat off of your stream

i don't care about your list of precautions for how to not get stream sniped because they are completely besides the point. we've already established why this behaviour is not bannable (and why it cannot be bannable). even being obnoxious and baiting someone into stream sniping you doesn't rob them of the agency to make the decision to do it, it just makes it more understandable when they do. at no point in time is a streamer at fault for being stream sniped, and i don't care about your low hanging fruit arguments because they're stupid

if you cannot understand this, that's your problem

  • the presence of a flashlight makes an aware killer paranoid of picking survivors up. it's tantamount to a survivor always being slugged in a pallet. killers can't just pick up whenever they want, which is useful

  • @Justwantacreampie said:

Nah this is how Sprint burst should be tbh and i dont see you reporting the black aura bug that lets killers see when a survivor walks by a gen.

"this exploit is fine because the killers also have bugs which benefit them"

the black aura bug cannot be triggered by the killer, it's just always there, so it's not comparable

and sprint burst should absolutely not be this way, it's a very strong perk as it is that pretty much eliminates the need to be situationally aware. you just need to not be exhausted

  • yes, but the stream sniper is still deciding to stream snipe, and the streamer isn't forcing them to

by blaming the streamer for this you're blaming the victim and not the perpetrator, this is very simple

also, "stream sniping" can be something as harmless as attempting to get into the same game as a streamer, but it can also mean checking the person's stream while playing against them to gain an unfair in-game advantage

  • @KillermainBTWm8 said:

Give them a different screen to look at. It can't effect the match that much at all TBH especially with delay. Also if you are using TTV in your name then it's your fault.

it's the stream sniper's fault that they're stream sniping, not the streamer

a streamer isn't telling you to go to their stream while playing against them

obviously, punishing for this isn't really possible, but shifting the blame from the stream sniper to the streamer is not constructive

  • hair in general needs more physics. i don't like that they made kate's hair effectively stick to her head and neck, same with claudette's base/p3 hair, even if its style is "better"

  • no

BBQ is an incredibly healthy perk for the game and the increased incentive to use it through the BP bonus works as a positive, not a negative

if anything, add an effect for WGLF

  • @prettyf said:

sb possible to make it 95% or 99% and active when you want

you never figure it out in game they exploiting or not

only can spectate to see it

sometimes not popping unintentionally makes survivors get hit

and now theres never happen like use multiple time or something

this is not really true, you can tell when someone stops running for a second vs when they just suddenly get faster while running with no interruption

Not really. You can also be outclassed by swf. You cant say a rank 14 is playing poor vs a rank 1 in swf. You can argue this point with "leave chase etc" but they might not know to do that yet

right but that's not really what we're talking about

a rank 14 killer ideally won't ever play against a rank 1 survivor, and the fact that they can is symptomatic of other issues and perks shouldn't be an argument to bandage those issues

"swf" is too nebulous of an argument and swf groups are more likely to cleanse noed before it even activates so it doesn't really apply anyway

  • probably the hillbilly

visually he's the most monstrous, the way he walks would freak me out, and he has a chainsaw

  • noed's potential impact on the game despite being totally unearned (you essentially have to do poorly throughout the game for it to have an impact later on) sort of speaks for itself

  • no, she sounds so funny, please never change it

    in Kate Comment by miaasma
  • the worst part of playing killer is map design. gen speed and the distance survivors get between tiles are symptoms of this, and SWF doesn't really matter since swf groups composed of bad players aren't any harder to beat than solo survivors, and SWF groups composed of good players aren't any different than a solo group of 4 good players

the worst part of playing solo survivor is your teammates

  • he's not derailing

this exploit sidesteps the only downside of sprint burst. you already have agency over when SB activates; it activates when you start sprinting. even balanced landing, arguably the strongest exhaustion perk, has conditional use

you can sprint burst mid chase, you just need to have the awareness to walk until your exhaustion is almost gone (this is called 99ing your sprint burst), then mid-chase walk for a second so that it goes away and you can sprint burst

    hopefully this gets fixed asap

  • how do you actively punish it? or prove it's happening at all? something like this is nearly impossible to monitor

not saying it's not a gross thing to do (i've personally experienced it and it's a bummer) but there isn't really anything BHVR can do about it

  • rank reset screws up queues for everyone and is a net negative for the game

  • they show up in my bloodwebs too. specifically the leatherface and freddy splinters

  • i don't think this game will ever actually be scary to anyone with more than 100 hours in it. at most, you have jumpscares, which isn't really horror and more just moments of being startled

  • certain ones do

  • most online games are pretty unfriendly to newer players but yeah the grind is quite enormous

  • the "counter" to nurse is always to either run a whole perk build or just hide from her for the entire game to avoid dealing with her

of course, this only sounds reasonable to nurse mains and clueless people (who can often be lumped into the same category)

  • i didn't bring up survivor mains' public perception, so if you want to get angry at somebody about it (it really seems like you're just looking for an excuse to talk about it yourself), talk to the person in this thread who brings it up in every thread he posts in. i'm also hardly the only one talking about something other than the nurse right now

also don't see any whining (aren't you the one who made the thread about how blinding killers during animations was an exploit? how incredibly ironic) just pointing out somebody's inability to veer away from the killer main vs survivor main dynamic

Let me guess, he was one of those dirty campers that doesn't immediately disappear from the map after hooking a survivor? Or were there other survivors in the immediate vicinity? I have a hard time believing a red rank killer just stood there and watched you after hooking you unless you did something particularly annoying. There's no way red rank killers would survive if they did that regularly.

what a weird, out of touch comment

plenty of red rank killers do this

just a few days ago i got hard patrolled by a plague with nobody in the area, the only reason i didn't just die on my first hook is because someone traded

  • "i often criticize killers for acting like survivors"

it seems pretty accurate to me, since apparently a defining characteristic of being a survivor is being a dumbass, in your opinion

which is funny, because most people you'd classify as "survivors" probably don't even main survivor

they don't sell self awareness in stores unfortunately

  • survivors are all entitled babies and killers are honourable martyrs, we get it, you can stop typing it now

Thank you! I hope you can make the change! But I believe that they dont fear you...

I think that you NEED to put a Pop-Up article/news at every start of the game of how many people have been banned for insults like that this week (every week). Because even if its true that you take care of them there are still people who dont know that this will be punished and then ruin someones day.

Or a live global ban report (with ban reason) in the top corner of the screen just like Rainbow Six Siege does it.

I hope one day I can play DBD without the fear that someone will ruin my day with a few words out of no where

EDIT: what I am trying to say: Better PREVENT then REPAIR

unfortunately, i don't think anything like this will actually prevent truly poisonous people from saying horrible things

  • i didn't read that

don't tunnel off hook or slug the person you're tunneling for 60 seconds

if somebody runs at you or jumps into a locker shortly after being unhooked it's very obvious ds bait

ds is counterable very easily but i know it's easier to just blame survivors for everything and put in no personal effort towards anything

  • a complete rework is likely the best solution

however, i don't know how realistic this is, as several survivor (and killer) perks are even worse than current MoM. think left behind and monstrous shrine. a lot of perks need reworks

for the time being, protection hits need to more consistent

  • yes

but your reasons for deranking are really dumb so i'm not going to elaborate

Looping doesn't really need to be in a conversation about Bloodlust. Bloodlust was there to fight bad RNG. Looping was not an intended mechanic at all, meaning bloodlust was put into the game without thought to looping.

If you don't wanna deal with bloodlust, stun the killer with the pallet. If the pallet is unsafe, then don't try to loop it. Stun the killer with it and move on. Problem solved.

most killers who don't just brainlessly walk through pallets will recognize an unsafe pallet and walk around it. your post requires that the killer actually walk through the pallet instead of running around it to gain speed, which is something many won't do

i saw similar arguments for examples of "counterplay" to legion (just stun them out of frenzy!) ignoring that killers have to actually let you stun them

i have legacy 1 billy, maxed out huntress, freddy, myers, legion, spirit, billy, 12 of my killers are P3 lvl 50+

legacy 2 jake, almsot have every teachable of the survivors, all teachable for killers, not only do i know both side very well, i play both of them very well, and i know the killer side is really not the dominant one when you face good survivors, even worse if they are swf, i don't complain about swf, i complain about the game in general.

you realize that all of this just provides context and makes this thread much much sadder?

also i've seen you play survivor and uhhh yeah

So it's possibility #2. I'm actually impressed, since I thought you were making it up.

@miaasma As you can see, not hyperbole. It didn't read like hyperbole in the slightest, TBH. I'm not sure why you believed it did.

because, like you, i figured it wasn't possible. i just didn't figure he'd be making it up for no reason, either. hyperbole seemed the most obvious answer

either way, looks like we were both wrong

  • also, keep in mind that no in-game playstyle warrants what these people are saying to you, and it's entirely on them. it's not your fault at all

  • don't bother telling them that you'll report them, talking to them at all is a waste of time and energy and they aren't worth either of those things if they're telling you these things. just do it and close the chat, and block them on steam if they do things like comment on your profile or try to add you

reporting someone with a ticket (i believe) is done through the customer support option, which can be done in the postgame menu. i can't speak for its effectiveness since i'm not a member of BHVR's staff, but it involves giving them actual information about the player's steam account and is more detailed, so i would assume it gets looked at with more seriousness

if that's too much (and i understand if it is) then just use the in-game report system the way you usually would. like i said, people like this don't belong in online communities, and reporting them helps root them out
