Waiting it out only benefits the killer if they can setup or reliably find someone. It’s invaluable on a hag. It barely does anything on a huntress.

As for moving in to the inner gens, that’s only makes them easier to find if you don’t go looking for them at the outer gens. You basically have to guess right; with the best case being you start a chase immediately which you should be doing anyways.

The perk is mainly good on killers who can patrol the inner gens while setting amps or the hose which hi can I can immediately someone at an outer game an outer gen like the Doctor.

    stupid autocorrect

i mean, huntress is a good example of a killer who could benefit from running corrupt intervention + whispers

even if people just hide for 2 minutes that's 2 minutes for you to find someone before anyone really does anything

the beginning of the game can make or break how the rest of the game goes, so giving yourself a good start can be a huge bonus regardless of the killer, but i do agree it's best on setup killers like trapper and hag. i can see it being great on myers too

But you can just wait it out? You dont have to look for totems, nothing. The survivors can just wait. Perks sounds cool, but it doesnt work.

that's the point? if you wait it out it's slowed the game down, and if you move to inner generators then the killer has an easier time of finding you

it's much more reliable than ruin and it works against players of any skill caliber, meaning people can't just work through it

  • resilience is already great, something like this would make it completely busted

being injured is much less of an issue than you think it is

  • not really, they are both good for game delaying. one of them can't be spawned on and cleansed immediately though

  • highly recommend running corrupt intervention over ruin

  • no matter how much you try to "punish" killers for camping, if killer players want to camp they're going to camp

here's a general tip: don't hide from BBQ and don't run distortion. give killers incentives to leave hooks rather than expecting them to do it by default

  • but how will i suicide in people's faces when they don't save me before i go 2nd stage on my first hook without the necessity of pressing an action button

  • my main problem with it is the density of pallets and tiles, as well as the middle building having some really stupid windows. it could definitely do with some tweaking

Here is an example of some janky detection.

@Peanits you guys are seriously gonna extend the detection radius on the screen? I wasn't even centered on him and I still almost revealed him by accident.

It really isn't that difficult to reveal him. I have a full match against another if anyone wants to see it.

i reveal him by accident more often than i do on purpose

i can position him in the center of my camera for several seconds mid chase while he's out in the open and not reveal him, but i can be doing a generator (or even be on the ground) and reveal him while he's very far away and obscured by a tree. i don't think it's even up for discussion that these mechanics need work

one thing i've heard is that your character model itself can actually obstruct the detection and make it impossible to reveal him

  • legion was fixed, not nerfed

  • rarity shouldn't be a substitute for balance, especially if we're making moris impossible to predict

  • a survivor who is simply allowing themselves to be downed/grabbed shortly after being hooked is a pretty obvious red flag and not taking the bait isn't difficult

  • ruin/corrupt intervention

    enduring

    spirit fury

    BBQ

use power on the first person you see. commit to the chase if nobody else is close (even if you see people with killer instinct), otherwise tag as many people as you can to injure them/get them off gens, committing to the last person you tag

if they run to a very strong structure or setup, drop chase and find someone else

if they don't, chase them down

i find legion great at controlling the map, much better than the average M1 killer. getting free first hits regardless of obstacles is great and being a 115 killer means you can force pallet drops pretty quickly. spirit fury makes pallet dense maps like blood lodge more serviceable

  • lag switching tends to be really obvious. the killer stands still, you cease to be able to play the game, and you suddenly teleport next to him, usually on the ground

  • the only objection i have is with kate's p3 hair

it used to be more subtle but now she's just a redhead

not that there's anything wrong with being a redhead

  • don't agree with making mending be seen through nurse's calling, but i do agree with boosting the vault speed

  • wraith just feels good to me

i love catching up to and bodyblocking people with windstorm addons

mostly i like that he's not an especially strong killer so i have to use my brain in chases. winning with wraith challenges me much more than winning with billy or nurse

  • i would love to run BL against you on haddonfield and then have you tell me the map is okay

we'd have a good old time

  • the change to moris i've always tried to argue for is to remove how advantageous they are from a gameplay perspective and just have them be more personally rewarding. have mori kills give a whole bunch of BP but only be possible on death hook. this saves time by removing the need to hook someone a 3rd time and give moris their novelty kill animations without conferring enormous gameplay advantages (even a green mori slants the game extremely hard if it's used early)

as for instaheals i'd be totally fine with them just being removed entirely but the proposed change a few replies back would be interesting to test out

  • @Jdsgames said:

Other than the RNG being a bit broken on this map. It is readily at times both killer and survivor sided. I play huntress frequently and can easily crush and if needed 3-gen a team down. As a survivor you learn how to play Haddonfield to your advantage against certain killers. The hardest to beat is probably trapper at this map.

no killer is hard to beat on this map if you have no issue abusing uncounterable window loops, and many survivors don't

just as many survivors don't understand how to properly run haddonfield and go down far too quickly despite the resources they have to work with

personally i intentionally avoid the cheesiest aspects of this map in order for the game to not be a complete snooze-fest for the killer, but most survivors aren't going to do the same and if they know what they're doing they can literally be impossible to catch before you've lost the game

what's especially sad is the stereotype that balanced landing is needed in order for these houses to be infinites. in pretty much every open house at least one window will be open that can waste enough of a killer's time as to need entity blocker, and if even one person knows to do this they effectively cannot be caught before too much gen progress is made

  • his ability isn't meant to have downing potential

hitting the same person multiple times isn't meant to be advantageous

these changes basically regress the rework to legion and bring him back to the cheese factory. they would also be a departure from how he was originally intended to be played

the only changes i'd make to him are his addons, too many of them are worthless since they apply temporary effects when someone already in bleedout timer is hit with FF, which is pretty much never worth doing. his base kit is totally fine

  • from what i gather, the only tangible effect from this change will be that survivors who look directly at ghostface mid chase, out in the open, will no longer be exposed for no reason other than clunky mechanics

i cannot for the life of me see how this is a bad thing. if a survivor knows you're there and you're standing out in the open you aren't using your power correctly and you shouldn't be rewarded for it. it literally undermines the point of the killer

  • if someone wants to call a legitimate balance discussion "whining" then they should be denounced from the discussion since they have no intention of participating constructively and are only here to argue in bad faith. i don't consider it uncivil to point such things out

nobody here is yelling at BHVR or making sweeping claims about anyone (except for the person in question)

  • ah, i see, everyone's either a killer main or a survivor main. it's impossible to have a nuanced perspective on this game in your mind, which explains your lazy posts

    @miaasma

Suck it up. Really. Stop the whining. When Haddonfield gets reworked/disabled, Killers will cry about the next Map. And then Survivors will start about The Game.

Maybe all DBD players should stop to be entitled little crybabies and simply play a Map, even if it is not in their favor.

But I know, this is too much I expect from people who are Adults..

what a horrible response. should survivors have sucked it up when moris worked on your first down? should killers have sucked it up when true infinites existed?

you might as well not even participate in a discussion like this if you're going to tell people they're "whining" for pointing out a serious balance issue that has been plaguing this game for years

Yeah, completely justified if a Killer DCes on a Map he does not like. But god forbid a Survivor DCs and the Killer does not get his precious BBQ-Stack. This is basically a catastrophe.

I mean... It is one Map. If you get on this Map and lose. Suck it up. You cannot win them all.

All this whining from DBD players is simply pathetic.

a map "he does not like" undersells the issue. it's one thing to not like a map, it's another for it to be borderline abject torture to play on especially if the survivors run it on purpose

"you can't win them all" shouldn't translate to "rolling this map is a guaranteed loss"

not that haddonfield is a guaranteed loss but even wins on it are horrible experiences

  • i find a lot of success with legion in low red ranks. i usually at least 2k provided the map isn't abysmal and all 4 survivors aren't gods (the latter of which hasn't happened since i've started playing this killer)

  • it's an absolutely horrendous map and you need to be utterly clueless to think it's at all fair for killers

  • it doesn't really matter how long the initial chase is for the syringe to be corny and stupid. pointing out that you shouldn't chase someone for 3 minutes sidesteps the point of their post

not sure what else i expected from the "shack is an infinite" guy though

I'd love to know what his counter is to an ebony mori & nurse tunneling.

"just hide and git gud duh bAbY pLaYeRs"

probably has 200 hours in the game when it's never been easier.

his arguments are all just vacuous nonsense and personal attacks/presumptions but then he'll demand that you meticulously lay out a rebuttal to whatever he sharts onto the forum

even when people actually explain to him why he's wrong he just deflects and calls them rank 15s or something

    it's honestly pretty gross

Wow, such baby players these days, lol.

"Let's nerf this relatively uncommon items because I'm too terrible at killer/survivor to counter them" seems about right for the new, streamer inspired generation of baby DBD players who think they know how to balance a video game. Go back in time to 2016 - then tell me these are "huge problems".

why are you just wrong about everything

  • survivors get extremely few of them and killers get way too many

  • they already extended it

i'd love for more days of it but queues going back to normal would also be nice

i feel like bhvr really spoiled us with this event lol so asking for more just doesn't feel right

yes, claudette main hiding in a bush having sex with it, you are indeed famous.

    wh..what

  • @OKUL_COCUGU no worries, i understand

for what it's worth i probably have more hours into survivor than killer but i try to do a good 50/50 of both. i've tried playing predominantly killer during the bp event but the queue times have been discouraging

  • @Pike_Trickfoot said:

@miaasma What have you been using on them? Have you found a meme/fun build for them? Any preferred strategy? These are just genuine questions btw. I'm always looking to improve on my legion skills. You're also not obligated to answer. ☺️

my build at the moment is BBQ ruin spirit fury enduring (the latter two are rank 2 since i just p3'd him)

the way i view legion is that he's an m1 killer who gets an easy first hit, similar to wraith except he doesn't get screwed over by windows or pallets to get that first hit and he also doesn't necessarily need to commit to the first survivor he sees, so enduring/spirit fury facilitate getting the down after you get that first hit. a lot of survivors will drop a pallet on you when you're in frenzy even after you've hit them with it, which is great because the pallet stun overrides the frenzy cooldown stun, so you can keep chasing sooner

as for addons i've been using stolen sketch book and etched ruler, but to be honest i'm not sure what the best addon combination is for him and i'd love for someone who plays him a lot to tell me what works best for them. i know the pins aren't good since hitting someone already in deep wound with your frenzy and giving them an extra speed boost in a chase isn't worth whatever (temporary) effects you apply, and when i tried cold dirt it didn't seem good enough to use for strategic frenzy cancelling to be reliable

ideally i want to replace ruin with something more reliable, like corrupt intervention

  • if they're really far away you don't chain hits and just chase the person you first hit. you can still zone them from a pallet or window by running in front of them though. plenty of the time people will spawn together and get on the same generator so you can at least tag two people, and even if you don't make it to somebody you see with killer instinct you can still chase them off a generator

that being said you know absolutely nothing about me as a player so i have no idea why you're referring to me a survivor main purely because you've only seen me play a survivor in "youtube videos". like that's maybe the most nonsensical thing i've read on this website

i'm currently rank 5 and i usually at least 2k with legion, and that's with sub-optimal perks since i've been prestiging him. you really shouldn't base a whole argument around assumptions that aren't even accurate

  • frankly i'm glad it's lower

i remember games where i'd run right past the open hatch because the blaring chase music prevented me from hearing it

it would also often prevent me from hearing huntress wind her hatchets up

  • @brockian41 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/537121#Comment_537121

If that’s the case then remove the hatch all together. Knowing if the killer knows where the hatch is is very circumstancial. To be the last survivor trying to escape the hatch has ( for the most part) always been the main option. If the “smart play” is an exit gate with the killer being able to close it, then theres no point in having it in the game anymore

no, because if the hatch was removed then the killer would just patrol the gates from the get-go. you know the killer is looking for the hatch because until he closes it the gates aren't powered and it's your only escape. he closes it, you're already at a door, on most maps you're probably already out because opening doors doesn't take long

it gets dicier on smaller maps like coal tower but for the most part these scenarios are pretty serviceable to the survivor

when this change was first released my kneejerk response was similar to yours but as you get used to it you'll see that the survivor absolutely has a shot at escaping if they're the last one alive, which is the whole point. it shouldn't be a free escape, but it should be possible, and i think they've struck that balance pretty well

  • wow i'm famous

  • the red VFX are being removed

  • removing autoaim would be great

  • thank you for listening to the community

  • i mean sure, but waiting at a door while the killer looks for the hatch is a good strategy even if you don't know whether the killer is aware of the hatch's location

miasma you should play legion yourself because all you've said is about old legion but old legion is now gone and we have an unique M1 killer whose power is useless and only gets you a decisive strike seriously i see survivors mending right after i am looking for other survivors in ff and they aren't even scared because legion has a 4 second stun. the only reason to play legion is to farm BP and black pip. i am not going to explain to you how his power cant chain hits like its supposed to but in a short way it only sounds good on paper and it doesn't work out in the game at all. this is why i'm telling you to play legion yourself and catch up with the present and how other players actually feel instead of assuming. and i am saying it at the end i was a legion main but i don't play legion anymore as much because of how boring he is.

in a simple equation: downs =/= fun; being able to use killer = fun. there's a reason why some people main a specific killer rather than others because they like that killer and their power. now tell me again old legion's power had no counterplay. no it didn't, but this legion has a punishment to himself/herself for trying to play him in the way YOU expect him to be played. if that is how you see counterplay, you do not know the word. counterplay is when you do something against what the other player has done so that they have a challenge; it is not to be mistaken with getting a free advantage because the killer has tried to make a play. Mending in front of legion is a stupid counterplay on paper, but it is actually not stupid because you will not get punished for it as a survivor as legion has been punished instead. Yes, tell me that it is not stupid because similarly survivors do not cleanse against plague to get gens done fast and save time in the cost of being 1 shot. Legion may be able to 1 shot people after the first hit, but the thing is, you can just M1 normally to get the same results minus the 4 second stun.

    i play legion

his power gives you a free first hit and can get multiple people off gens. he's basically a wraith with added gen pressure

the people who complain about current legion are bad killer players, full stop, and the devs aren't balancing for you, no matter how many poorly phrased paragraphs you type on a forum

    get over it

  • if you know that the killer knows where the hatch is just go to a door

on larger maps it's essentially a free escape
