That’s a counterable problem though. If you suspect the killer already knows where the hatch is, find a gate to hide by instead to wait for EGC to trigger, preferably the gate furthest from the hatch

If that’s the case then remove the hatch all together. Knowing if the killer knows where the hatch is is very circumstancial. To be the last survivor trying to escape the hatch has ( for the most part) always been the main option. If the “smart play” is an exit gate with the killer being able to close it, then theres no point in having it in the game anymore

if you know that the killer knows where the hatch is just go to a door

on larger maps it's essentially a free escape

Knowing that the killer knows where the hatch is is very circumstancial. 9 times out of 10 you don’t know and you’re waiting for it to open and they come over to close it and then you’re screwed, especially with the killers with a little to no presence ability

Common sens grab when surv jump to hatch yeah right just after 1hour stand off on hatch. Then hit surv and free escape yeah.Rank 20 or new i game?

If you’re a killer and can’t get the kill, that’s on you. I’ve been rank 1 with both killer and survivor and again its an unnecessary add

    Iunno.

I managed to get out of the Exit Gate while I was the last guy a few days ago.

Seems fine to me. You find it first, free escape.

He finds it first, near guaranteed kill. It's fair.

the problem comes in when the killer knows where the hatch is and can stroll their way over to close it with time to spare
