  • This was for a joke bit.

  • I tried to paste the video, but the video file type isn't accepted :((

  • Just pick up the survivors. I thought Soul Guard would've been OP buts it's incredibly situational.

yes this is a joke, apologies for the misleading title

It might be possible after crossplay is implemented, but not before then.

In order for something like that to work the account and all of its details would have to be hosted on a 3rd party server, i.e. at behaviors office and not via the platforms built in service. So instead of using the PS or Xbox membership details it would have to resemble something like Ubisoft, where they've got the membership and accounts linked externally on its own thing with the platfrom servers connecting to THEM for details.

Its a lot of work and has a much higher risk of errors and unhappy customers, but it is do-able.

Again though, crossplay would have to come first because that would be the easiest way for the framework to be added in game.

*This is just my opinion as a coder, not as anyone who knows anything official.

    Thanks for the insight!

Yeah, I was hoping if anyone could give insight because not many games have done cross-progression and I'd like to wonder what I would have to repurchase.

Recovery from his ranged attack increased to 3.25 seconds (up from 2.75). Feels slower in general

That's why he felt like I was playing fkn Deathslinger

  • Some sort of Soldier killer, Medieval or Modern (As in WW1-WW2)

  • I believe it can be quite powerful, my hopes is that they reduce the pickups across all perks to just once even if there's an Unbreakable, but it'll probably be like the For The People where everyone thought it'd be Op. However, I still think Soul Guard has an edge since there's absolutely no punishment for using such a powerful perk. At least No Mither has a fair trade off but then again, no hex perks, no problem.

"Take awhile" Um...this is not a new issue, It's been known log enough to have been fixed. Dont pretend otherwise.

Just because it's known doesn't mean it'll change the amount of time it'll take to change

Hey, it's me again. And no, I'm not going to make a thread about how Killer is Easy this time around ^^; (I still think it's relatively easier than how it should be but that doesn't matter now.)

Decisive Strike, Object of Obsession, Sprint Burst, Dead Hard.

No One Escapes Death, Pop Goes the Weasel, BBQ & Chili, Sloppy Butcher.

These 8 are just a few of the perks that are currently in the game's meta, and each of them helps us win the game in some way or another. Whether it being to make the killer miss a swing and chase for another loop with Dead Hard, bait them with Sprint Burst, bait them with Object of Obsession, surprise Survivors with NOED, break generators with PGTW, find them hiding with BBQ, and so on.

All of these perks are powerful, and no doubt are a must for any build is tailored to making your victory that much more easier to obtain. But what if these perks are locked away from you? And you have to choose from the various other perks that doesn't quite make the cut?

What perks do you use that helps you win, but isn't a part of the meta?

I'll start, it's probably one that some of you might not expect me to run:

    https://gamepedia.cursecdn.com/deadbydaylight_gamepedia_en/0/0e/Distressing.gif?version=d6c4343400d26ecfc54767e95c47a1c1

    Distressing

Your horrifying emanation strikes at a supernaturally long distance.

Your Terror Radius is increased by 22/24/26 %.

    Gain 100 % more Bloodpoints

for actions in the Deviousness Category.

The Bonus Bloodpoints are only awarded during the Trial.

    "Bask in their fear."

    Yeah that's right, Distressing.

Here is the thing, three of the killers I usually play are The Oni, The Doctor and The Spirit. The Doctor, for obvious reasons, can get a lot of mileage from Distressing. His Static Blast and huge Terror Radius would allow him to find out where exactly Survivors are hiding (if they are not hiding in lockers).

But The Oni and The Spirit requires a bit more explanation.

Whenever I play Oni, I always run Infectious Fright. It's just too good of a perk not to use with him. It helps notify me of Survivors that are inside my Terror Radius while I am in Wrath Mode. Which in turn, allows me to hunt them down and Oni-smash them with Demon Strike. Since Oni's power is depleted everytime he picks up a Survivor, having something like Infectious Fright is really useful. Which is why I run it alongside Distressing which would give me a ton of information on where Survivors are at near me.

As for The Spirit. Well, you know how Survivors often run away once they hear her vacuum cleaner coming nearby? Yeah well, they can't hear that if they are inside your Terror Radius. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten gen grabs with this tactic. Even when they know that I am playing Spirit. I know that it is a jumpscare for the survivors because they don't immediately struggle after getting grabbed. Distressing increases her Terror Radius, as such it increases the area of which they are unable to hear her vacuum cleaner.

This one perk, that most people use in Meme Builds is the one perk I always look out for in the Bloodweb. Because it's just that good for the killers I primarily play.

This is why I am making this thread, because I am curious what are some perks that aren't meta that really helps you guys win games as either a Survivor or a Killer and why. Maybe I get to try out some of those perks myself :P

    We're Gonna Live Forever; Agitation

  • He's way easier because of the fact that he aims in; just my take, I believe he's also one of the most fun to play

So is Ghostface and wraith? But they are both 32 meter, Myers is the only stealthish killer with a reduce terror radius except in tier 3, everyone else with a reduce or different terror radius has it because either they are ranged (deathslinger(not sure why he has a small TR) huntress(she has 20 hum and 20 TR) or hag because she is just 110? Point is all the other “Stealth” killers all have a 32 meter terror radius still so pig is not alone.

First of all Ghosty and Wraith can easily and quickly mask their TR indefinitely unless burnt or revealed, their movement isn't hindered either.

Pig comes to a SCREECHING HALT and has to crouch slowly. (And quite audibly too)

Myers is also understandable but why shouldn't Pig also be allowed to sneak with a reduced TR, 24 Meters would greatly reduced the distance and time needed crouching

Deathslinger has a small TR because he's a limited range killer and Huntress has a FORTY meter hum not 20, so no she's not a stealth killer

Also Hag has one of the most powerful abilities that require her to corral people into them but otherwise she doesn't have much so that's why 110, but 24m

  • I think we should start with her Terror Radius

For the love of God make it 24m, SHE'S A STEALTH KILLER

Then I think her crouching and stuff should be faster, yeah

And then honestly? Rework of the traps because they're basically useless

Then stop being a hero. If u know the killer is gone save your friend. But most swf and I do mean MOST :) will all rush the hook and killer to be knights and try to tank hits to save their friend only to end up throwing the game

If NOED ever got removed I'd quit killer plain and simple. Its the only counter I have to SWF and teams of bunny mengs. All with flashlights.

for oni it's hard to tell and honestly i forgot about him (i never seem him at all).

If I could see his sword it would help place it alot. I would say after the meiji era but that's early 1900s

edit: sorry ends in the early 1900s. it started in 1868.

Yeah, from my guess it's probably Sengoku like someone else said, especially since the Meiji Era saw the END of the Samurai and the incorporation of them into the government so

    (Tagging both because they're relevant)

If you want to discuss the placement of Killers timewise, I have an entire thread over in the Lore section (might have to dig for it) dedicated to that if you're interested (I will warn you though, it is pretty long). Someone tried to handle the Survivors too, but they left after Stranger Things.

And Oni is more than likely from the Sengoku period from 1467-1600, given his killing of peasant samurai, who would be banned from even owning swords after this period ended.

Warring era pogchamp , would love to see more killers from a war-like era

Like a Soldier Killer, Knight Killer, or maybe a like a Horde kinda killer (Mongols or Ancient Islamic Soldiers)

  • They do exist, but not in the way they're named. Infinite now just means super strong loop that needs to be looped three times till it's blocked, obviously actual infinites haven't existed for a long time

With the exception of Deathslinger that obviously came during the mass immigration of Irish immigrants to America which happens during the 1840s-1900s which especially solidifies this with the part in this bio about no Irish need apply I'd place everyone between the 1940s due to Nurse and Clown probably being the second oldest because of their clothes and map.

Clown clothes of that nature became increasing popular during that time as it was a way to poke fun at the government encouraging people to but in a hard days work when it was people putting in a hard days work that contributed to the stock marker crash of 1929 that latter led to the great depression which in turn lead to the first REAL talk of depression due to quality of life in America and not just labeling people as melancholy. It was during this time carnivals often set up shop right behind mental wards or in open fields because it was great way to make money in a steady supply. Doctors even wrote prescriptions for clowns. (But this is always what helped inspire Stephen King to write It/Hearing stories of this and he wondered about the psychological torture clowns endured by being forced to be happy every single day and put everyone else first and not their own selves and how they could express this torture. This along with architecture and referrel to Sally as Anglo American (a popular practice in this time to help differentiate from Irish immigrants and their children) puts them into this time frame.

"Youngest" I would say is Zarina because of the tape recorder, her style of dress, and her being Lebanese, what she endured in high school, and over all attitudes towards her culture. Because I'm old enough to know when Dubai was a tourist destination and everyone wanted to go the the middle east because it was exotic and the parties were like nothing else. (Seriously the parties are still this #########. I recently visited and I was drunk for a solid 2 weeks).

But this is assuming DBD actually did their research and didn't just go, oh this looks cool use that. I can post a complete list of everyone'd time era and why if anyone is interested.

Wasn't Oni from a MUCH older time period?

Honestly ruin nerf sucks. First as a killer i never used it and now that I can get gen rushed easily it seems like it was a useful perk. But hell even when I was a survivor main and didnt play killer, which now I play both at high rank, my personal opinion is it sucks. I miss the old ruin, it helped with great skillcheck and of course it made things longer and harder, yet now ruin is almost useless of you cant add enough pressure to gens. Who else agrees devs should bring ruin back?

Nope, it was a healthy change and devs are now making amends in the recent patches via toolbox change and gen rush nerf, killer main btw so you know I'm not one of "them"

Not sure how the PTB is gonna turn out, loving the gen changes and all, however with the survivors getting more and more nerfs to their survivability we're gonna need something soon, loops are all getting severely nerfed/instaheals gone (thank god for that actually)

Some maps are gonna be smaller (Not sure yet how much) which could be troublesome to deal with some killers (looking at you Doctor)

It's really up to be seen how it turns out in the test, but for now these are just my concerns so far.

Bro chill, almost every survivor nerf has had a trade off, the same couldn't be said for killer this past year

Killers have only a few perks that could be considered useless like one -three.

Hilarious statement, do you play killer at all?

  • @Beardedragon said:

and you face off against people several ranks higher than you with all purple perks, thats the moment, that this game can go ######### itself and i need a break from it. Throw in a few SWFs and you have a cocktail that could make Ghandi lose his #########.

no fun, pure frustration and stress. Gens pops left and right and i have no way of tracking from where. Gens often pop before ive even reach the gen at the back of the stage, furthest away from me.

I would rather get corona virus than be in such a situation. This is why i dont want to level up killers the proper way. it SUCKS that the meta is that you level up killers, by playing ANOTHER KILLER just to spend the BPs you get from that killer, on your new killer. you're supposed to get better at the killer by growing with him not just feed him stupid BPs to get perks. But you cant do that (technically you can) because every time you try and level up your level 1 ghostface or what ever killer, you get faced off against a fully kitted SWF group several higher ranks than yours. because this game has no chill and gives no #########.

The Match making dont give a #########. it doesnt care if im level 1 with a killer, it doesnt give a flying ######### if i have only 1 perk at the lowest possible level.

WHAT am i expected to DO in such a situation? play and "have fun" being absolutely molested? i feel like a child in a pedophiles basement, i dont have a chance what so ever. and that kind of play isnt fun.

there truly is only one way to level up killers, and that is to NOT play that killer untill hes like level 40. oh yea, how great that gameplay was.

    tldr?

  • @Thatbrownmonster said:

The more I view this dlc the more I realize it's probably the worst dlc in dbd soo far

Deathslinger- Fun killer to play as, but the most boring to go against, where nothing of him seems unique, since he looks like a typical npc from red dead redemption. His only unique aspect is his gun, and his leg, nothing else is unique about him, compared to the other killers. His power is horrible to go against since even if you do break the chain you still get to mend, would be fine if you got injured, but you also need to mend even if he doesn't hit you?

Deathslinger perks are some of the worst perks-

Gearhead works as Discordance but you are dependent on a skillcheck appearing, and even then you have a limited time for it to happen

Dead Man's switch- Works as a sort of thrilling threamours but it relies on hooking the obsession AND the survivors to stop fixing a generator, which to be honest would only happen if the generator is either half way or the survivor is desperated to go for the save

Hex: retribution - I am not even sure what even is the point of this perk, since for it to really work you would have to either be close to someone allready cleansing and wait for them to finish a totem, or simply using it against a survivor that is not paying attention

Zarina- Another boring looking survivor, nothing much unique about her, with some boring perks

Off the record- Literally iron will and distortion mixed together with the condition that you have to be unhooked and it only allows it to happen for over 1 minute

Red hearing- Works fine for the first time but after that the killer won't fall for it again, sure you can use it to bait the killer to a generator but pretty weak perk

For the people- Only decent perk this dlc, really strong if used correctly and can be broken at the end game

The map- looks amazing, too bad it's a small map, where everything is in the middle of the map, where everything around is empty without a single pallet, just bushes and cactus to hide on

Would love to hear your opinions on this, and remember this is just my opinion

Dead Dawg Saloon is not a small map

  • @Bowls_of_Chili said:

Let me preface this by saying that I am very much a Killer main, but I do also grind Survivor with my friends. I understand that these perks are often the only way to win against some Killers who play like a**holes.

Decisive Strike is an awful perk. It encourages Survivors to play like idiots, and allows them to entirely bully killers with entire teams running the perk. When I manage to finally down someone I get rushed by the entire SWF and they sacrifice each other to get their friend and all end up gaining DS in the process, winning them the overall fight. Whenever I play against SWF, they always run the same 3 perks, Decisive Strike, Adrenaline, and Dead Hard. I don't hate Dead Hard personally, but Adrenaline working after someone gets unhooked or when you happen to have 1 person slugged while going for another is incredibly obnoxious. Decisive Strike is in a league of its own for frustration as a Killer. Survivors bully you relentlessly knowing they essentially have a minute of invincibility. The issue I have with the perk is that it is almost a necessary evil with how a lot of Killer players play. I don't know how they could fix the perk without leaving Survivors at the mercy of the tunneling numbskulls that play Killer so often, but something has to be done about it.

Borrowed Time is the worst offender of the perks imo

  • Completely rework Legion, rework or find a way to buff clown, reduce the time for reload on Deathslinger, make pigs TR 24m again, and do something for Wraith and cannibal idk

For me I’d want the recharge mechanic completely redone. Make it so blinks don’t recharge while not in a chase and holding a blink allow you to recharge your second one while you charge your first one. Or, they could just remove the recharge mechanic and change the recharge addons to movement speed addons because those were fun to play around with lol.

Change the fatigue, its awful. Don't get rid of it but find some way to make it more bearable like shortening it bc of the nerf or having something in place

  • @NursesBootie said:

Deathslinger is not that good anyway imo. Hangman's Trick got gutted too much, they should buff it back a bit. Pigs TR nerf was just a memey pig nerf, because pig op or smth like that. Ruin nerf boosted way too many survs and made red ranks solo horrible.

I just wish there some sort of compensation for half of these, but killers don't get compensation smh
