That's not true. IIRC, Oni's lasts 45 seconds exactly and Myers' lasts 60 seconds base.
Plague has the same issue with Corrupt Purge, which is basekit 60s.
ah, OK. That's what I get for not looking it up to make sure before I replied. :)

plus 45s you might slug all 4 and hook 1. then the other 3 are getting up.
only if the first one gets up before you slug the last one. If you slug all 4 at the same time you win.

as for the "kindred gives more info than voice chat" argument, I think it's adorable that some people think SWF just uses voice chat rather than having their teammates' twitch streams open on a second monitor.

I'm a killer main who really isn't:
- Myers and Oni are now forced to hook a survivor they down while using their power, completely wasting time they could be spending downing other survivos with their power.
- Sadako's only viable playstyle (Ring Drawing build) has just been gutted.
- No longer able to slug when it's smart to for added pressure.
- Starstruck Nurse and Alechemist Ring Blight (who can down survivors in quick succession) just got a massive indirect buff.
It's shambolic.
I disagree with your first point; Myers and Oni's powers last less than 45 seconds, so once your power ends you'll probably still have time to get back to the first survivor you downed before they can get up.

You legit try killing everyone in 45 seconds? that's rad.
there have been a few times where I've slugged everyone in quick succession, and then have to find them all and hook them, and invariably there's one who either takes me a long time to find or I never find them and they bleed out, which isn't fun for either of us, so I'm happy this will fix that and just end the match immediately. I've also been on the other side where I'm the last survivor crawling around and TRYING to get the killer to see me to hook me and end the match and just end up bleeding out.
I also realize that this weakens the strategy of using a slugged survivor to bait out the other survivors, but 45 seconds is a pretty long time, so if I find a few injured survivors together and I down one I can still probably also get another before the first one gets up.
-
Yes. I keep thinking it would be a huge QOL improvement if you could just hold press on the center node of the bloodweb, and it would automatically fill nodes. And then if there's a strategic decision to be made I could just not do that and make the strategic decision, and the auto-fill the rest.
-
Doc is easy mode for me. I play him when my evening's going badly and I need an easy win. Or whenever there's a tricky tome challenge. My current main is Dredge, who's a ton of fun and pretty strong, so I play Doc less these days.
-
Dad got lasik.
-
I've been mostly maining him. He's super fun. Before that I was maining Pinhead, but he's just so underpowered now that survivors have figured out the box, and before that I was maining Doc, but he's OP, so I mostly save him for hard tome challenges.
Dredge currently feels just right, and it's so satisfying to have someone open a locker and you're right there and you nom them. :)
-
seems legit.

Nope, I had some survivors DC while I was carrying them last night. Even had someone DC as I was in the hook animation and didn't get my pop.
ah, OK. Weird, then, that there was a big hitch when I picked them up and would expect them to DC, and then they DCed on the hook. Could've been a network error, too, though, since now that I think about it there was another hitch later in the match.

Cenobite has better anti-loop imo. Chain hunt is harder to have againts decent Survivors but you can still manage to down the person with the cube to force someone else to go for the cube, repeat. You will need some help with perks and good add-ons most likely tho. At the very least it is a passive slowdown.
Cenobite's anti-loop is actually not so good.
Dredge doesn't have anti-loop per se, but that's because his strategy is more about jumping out of lockers and hitting peeps rather than chasing.
I LOVE Pinhead, but I can consistently do way better with Dredge.
-
The limitations of this perk honestly feel like a miscommunication. Like, the original idea was "if you injure a survivor, and they vault a pallet within X seconds, the pallet automatically breaks". And then they said "that's too strong. Let's limit it to terror radius, or make it have a 3-second warm up, or notify the survivor that it's active" and someone was writing those limitations down and accidentally wrote them down as an "and" instead of an "or".

Yes I'm pretty sure you can, it's basically the same as when a survivor drops a freddy fake pallet, you can walk straight through it uninterrupted
It breaks after they FINISH vaulting over it, so if you're pretty close to them you still get stuck on the pallet while they finish vaulting and it finishes breaking. Unlike Freddy pallet where you actually gain on them because they took time to drop the pallet but you don't lose any momentum walking through it.

The fun part is that it's a dredge perk, but during nightfall dredge lose his TR, so I guess he can't use dissolution ?
yup. See also Dredge's other perk that is about searching lockers, for the one killer who would never search a locker.

@Advorsus said:
If they just removed the notification that survivors get it'd be better. Still wouldn't be extremely powerful, but it'd have it's uses. Right now as soon as you hit a survivor they see that you have it and they just don't do it then, so it never activates. Another case of great on paper, bad in practice
seriously?? Survivors get a notification??
-
@sizzlingmario4 said:
It's because you're using Plaything. Since they're oblivious they're not considered to be in your terror radius thus Dissolution can't do anything.
oh snap! Excellent call! Thanks! That also explains why it kept not working on Dredge, since he spends a LOT of time undetectable.
also excellent username. :D

I also noticed that there's some sort of new "aim assist" or something, that occasionally makes me turn when I attack (I'm playing on Windows with an Xbox 360 controller). I'm wondering if that's related somehow? Or maybe my ancient controller's just dying...
-
My usual loadout is overcharge, dying light, tremors, and nurse. I'll probably switch out dying light for Thana.
-
Why shrine with no other scourge perks?
I've always used overcharge; happy to see it getting a free buff.
Thana definitely to counter new OTR. OTRs also gonna make noed less useful; I'd recommend brine to compliment overcharge, or a scourge perk to compliment shrine.
-
The new meta I'm expecting to immediately come out of these changes is for every survivor to start running OTR and every killer to start running Thanatophobia to counter it.
-
As people are mentioning on Twitter, though, the new OTR sounds like it will guarantee escape once the gates are powered, which is kinda sad.

we getting an icon bois!
"Those who reach prestige 3 before the update will receive a special prestige icon to recognize their achievements"
full
"With prestige now being the main way to progress, it’ll no longer be as impressive to have your characters maxed out at prestige level 3. It only made sense to have a new way to recognize our most committed players, so we’ve removed the prestige limit entirely. But what would more prestige levels be without rewards?
Reaching prestige levels 4, 5 and 6 will now award that character’s bloody prestige cosmetics, once again signifying those who went above and beyond. Now that prestiging for the first three times awards perks, it only made sense to move these higher. If you’ve already unlocked these cosmetics, don’t worry, we won’t be taking them away from you. You’ve earned it.
For the completionists, prestige levels 7, 8 and 9 will each grant one of that character’s unique perks as a charm. We also wanted to highlight your dedication to your favourite characters no matter how many times you’ve prestiged them. Once a trial is over, your prestige level will now be shown in the space previously occupied by grades. Those who spend millions of Bloodpoints stockpiling add-ons for your favourite characters will now have a way of showcasing your hard work to the world. "
Ugh. Separate discussion, but I really REALLY wish those spaces in the post-trial just showed character portraits, so I could say "great work, loopmaster420!" instead of "great work, uh... whoever was playing that blond girl in the booty shorts!"
Showing prestige level here is what I LEAST want, because it'll just result in me getting post-match messages of "you're prestige 7 and got a 0k??? GIT GUD LOSER!" from SWF teams who are somehow all red rank but prestige 1.
-
@Steel_Eyed said:
I’ve already prestiged everybody. Hope the reward is something good. Bloodpoints aren’t all that useful for a player in my position.
that's a really good point; the more characters a player has prestiged, the less important BP are to them, so giving a player who's prestiged everyone a zillion BP is the thing they LEAST want.
-
I just hope we get advance notice of what the reward is so I can make an informed decision on whether or not to prestige all the characters I have sitting at 0-50 and 1-50 (which is every survivor I've unlocked but 1, and about 5 different killers).

It's bugged.
Usually, this just means that Nemmy has one less zombie. Very rarely, it means that he has a camping buddy.
Go in, trade.
I tried. Getting hit by zombie interrupts unhook, and zombie can apparently attack recover faster than a survivor can unhook. I was at full health, started unhooking, got hit at like 70% which interrupted the unhook. Repeated until I was downed. ☹️

Guess you havent played him on ormond yet
maybe they fixed it, but ormond isn't that bad with Dredge. I just got a 3k (hatch spawned RIGHT NEXT TO the last guy), and got a couple of great "chase them past a locker, and pop out of that locker to hit them" moments. :)

Yep, these things are really hard to find.
They kinda merge with the background. As i remember the crown were much easier to find.
I wanna say the crowns also made more noise?

and, of course, right after asking this, I found an invitation, and then immediately found where it respawned. LOL.

@Mikeasaurus said:
You can get it at any point in the match. If a survivor collects it, it will respawn somewhere else on the map. If nobody claims it in 2 minutes, it will despawn and respawn somewhere else again.
Are you sure? I've spent entire matches running around the map looking for it, and just given up because I've assumed a survivor already collected it.
-
corn isn't that bad, especially since they added lockers to the threshers.
swamp is torture, though.

survivors can't fall through that hole either. I chased a survivor in there, and she stood hovering over the hole being VERY CONFUSED for a couple seconds before running away.

BHVR: The reward is iridiscent shorts!
Me: Yay! Iridescent -- wait, did you say shorts?

what was the legacy reward?

To clarify my question: last 2 survivors are slugged. I hook 1, and he dies. Will I auto Mori the other when I try to pick him up?

@Pepsidot said:
Now that I think of it, they might push this update no matter what. The real reason they are doing this could well be (I'm presuming) because they intend to sell new mori animations in the store.
...I'm feeling pessimistic today after a certain announcement, I better go sleep.
Oh... OH! I bet you're right! This makes moris happen way more often, and adds the option to sell moris as a customization!

Agreed; if a killer's weapon is invisible, then their third slot should be something else.

When i saw the threads title i was afraid they did to pinhead what they did to demopupper.
Fingers crossed for Greg!
-
Update: I tried thinking like BHVR, and remembered that they nerfed Pinhead's add-ons specifically because Hoarder and Franklin's made him way OP. So I tried a new perk loadout with Hoarder, and it's super OP, especially on smaller maps. Unless someone tries to solve the box immediately after picking it up, then it actually does ME a favor for them to pick it up because it tells me where the box is AND where a survivor is.
They really REALLY should have just made it so the box is immune to Hoarder and Franklin's and just left all Pinhead's perks alone, because his perks created a bunch of interesting playstyle options, but without them the only valid playstyle is Franklin's and/or Hoarder.
-
Update: I think I just had the wrong loadout. After remembering that all his nerfs were specifically because he was OP with Franklin's and Hoarder, I switched to a loadout with Hoarder (but no Franklins) and am now doing much better.
This really seems like a huge oversight that they didn't think of how his power would synergize with perks when they designed him, and I think it was a bad idea to nerf him in ways that would hurt people who didn't use those synergies more than people who did.
