Yea that's right, Half the comments there were "Hurr Durr Small PP Killer Build OP"
And your thread was "Hurr Durr Small PP Survivor Build OP". What did you expect people to write?
Edit: I think it would be pretty funny if someone copies the exact same wording in this thread and replaces all occurrences of Ruin / Undying with DS / Unbreakable
-
I'm just going to point out you made an entire thread complaining about people's perks. Only to follow it up with this one.

The calculation from the stats they gave is right. I did the math.
But if the stats they gave us ate right or not.. i dont know.
I am saying the stats don't look right. 11.79% implies that survivors lose almost every game.
@Slashstreetboy said:
IIRC the last stats we got showed 80% survival rate at rank 1 (skewed due to ranking issues) yet still 60% at rank 2. This alleged insane drop in survival rate makes me wonder if we had a tremendus influx of new players that got wrecked by hardcore killers during the mmr system (r1 killer with 1k+ hrs vs literal 4x rank 20 all the time) or if low rank survivors make up the vast majority of games.
Which stats are you referencing? Cause the last stats I have seen, survival rates have been ~40%. And even 4 man SWFs didn't exceed a 50% survival rate.
-
Doesn't look right. 11.79% is too low.
-
It's a bad tech. Once people start finding out you'll just see someone with a map and know to look the other way when vaulting. Free hits.

I love how the first sentence in every response starts with "I'm Rank 1."
Ego's much?
To be fair, you should have hit rank 1 to give credible advice in DBD. Especially given how easy it is to hit rank 1. Otherwise, it would be like trying to give someone advice on how to swim when you can barely float in the water.
-
I don't run into that much post-game toxicity. But people are also more likely to remember bad experiences than good experiences, so who knows.
-
I too like to blame all my losses on SWFs

So annoying!! I've had teammates that let me die on first hook because they're busy looking for the hatch when we are the last ones alive. I'm sorry this happened, and good on you for not disconnecting! Good luck in your future matches and I hope they are more fun than this one :)!
Solo Q experience. If you and blendette are the last two alive, you already know what's going to happen.

I think survivors start getting good at looping when they understand how to chain tiles.
They are very good if they can get consistent reads.
Edit: And also when they know exactly when to walk at loops.

Look a person who say gen rush is not a thing it sound like it never happen to you and is like people say DS is not bad to use well it is but I guess you are a DS player who use the same build as everyone does so you think it fine but when the day come that DS get nerf will be the day people don't wanna play dbd for good which is good so the fun can begin again and no more frustration and sweaty games anymore.
How about you stop guessing who I am and come up with an actual argument? Maybe you can link more videos since you can't come up with your own?
-
Game does get better with better perks / skill on killer. If nothing else, perks like Corrupt or Ruin / Undying can completely change the pace of the game.
And yes, it is fun running meta builds.

Wow really you are a SWF player I guess who like to think the killer is wrong.
I find it funny how the same people arguing tunneling is not a thing are the same people that unironically are arguing gen rushing is a thing. They are both just excuses to absolve yourself from playing bad. Can you honestly after losing a game not have found a lot of mistakes that would have changed the outcome?
And for the record, No. If I ever do swf it is without coms.

Gens do get rushed every game. Whether the rush is successful is a different argument. If this wasn't the case then we wouldn't have a meta that includes 3 perks dedicated to preventing gens from getting finished.
I play with no gen reduction perks. I just unlocked ruin as teachable a few days ago just bought clown a couple weeks ago so don't have pop. Don't have plague for corrupt. Gens pop so fast without proper perks that you can't stop them unless they misplay. So if I complain about something being new to the game and then players with thousands of hours in the game complain about the same thing then there is a problem because it might get better with practice and experience but it doesn't actually get better.
Gens being rushed and the killer still killing most or all doesn't mean that gens are fine. It means something happened to let the killer capitalize.
Gens don't get rushed every game. Gen Rushing implies that a survivor sits on a gen ignoring everything else in the game. While this is the optimal strategy for survivor, it doesn't happen in 99% of games.
Just because you couldn't stop a gen from being completed, doesn't mean the gen was rushed. That is not to say that gen speed isn't a problem at high ranks against coordinated teams. However, the notion that you as a killer have no agency to influence the game sounds like an excuse to not get better.

I'm def not a great killer. I've got less than 100 hours in the game between playing both killer and survivor and only reached rank 5 before reset since I only get a couple hours every few days to play. The only reason I have as much time in as I do was because I was quarantined for 2 weeks due to covid.
You can go watch top players and streamers get gen rushed most games. Otzdarva gets rushed. Tru gets rushed. Are you saying you are a better killer than Otz? The only way to prevent it is to have the proper perks which you can't have until you unlock them.
Again survivors aren't just standing in the middle of the map playing games. If two survivors are on either side of the map on a gen and you are in the middle and both pair start a gen you won't be able to stop both. I don't care how good you are. One gets done while you chase on the other side of the map. If you leave that side to go to the other the first gets finished before you ever have a chance to get back. It's why ormond is such an awful map for killer. If all survivors would get the middle gen then split into two pairs and go to opposite sides of the map there would be little most killer's could do.
Not to sound condescending, but if you only have 100 hours in the game, I think you need to be more experienced in the game until you can make broad statements like "Gens get rushed every game".
Also you shouldn't be blindly name dropping streamers. They do have valid points, but if the game were really as imbalanced as you are implying, they wouldn't be winning 85% of their games.

+1
Releasing stats will really go a long way in adding rationale for game changes. This way 10 flame threads aren't created every time someone doesn't like a change that doesn't help their side.

Yeah those rainbow setups are usually intentional. SWF will utilize the lowest rank in the group as a way to get easy wins since matchmaking has a tendency to cater to the lowest rank. Which is why I think that if the MMR detects a SWF, then they should be purposefully matched against a higher ranked killer.
What I encountered last night however, didn't make a lick of sense. No joke, I would really like to play more killer matches, but knowing that DBD will throw any killer regardless of rank into a match, turns me off of the game altogether.
Matchmaking is really weird - often caused by imbalance on one side.
When you start a queue, there's a base range that matchmaking looks for. However, every X amount of time, it will broaden the range, until it finds people. Since survivor queues are so long right now, what happens is the range in ranks they are searching for becomes pretty large and matchmaking will just take any killer.
It's also weird on the killer side since if I queue at Rank 1, I will often get a rainbow. Whereas you see Rank 13s getting a lobby of reds.
Theoretically speaking, you can use a predictive analysis model to test the MMR system for accuracy. Basically using the MMR of the players to predict the outcome and then checking against the actual result. However, given the last iteration of MMR, it seems like this wasn't put into place. Either way, I don't think MMR belongs in a game like DBD. There's too much randomness and itemization that can skew a match in your favor.

This is true, but not for the reasons you are thinking. The core issue as to why people are DCing is that they are bad sports, spoiled, or entitled. The DC penalty cannot fix a defective person; it can only try to encourage better behavior. :)
I didn't say anything about the actual reasons as to why people DC. All I'm saying is that people shouldn't pikachu face when people DC even though DC penalties are active.
-
So you're telling me my 4.2m/s Bamboozle Nurse isn't good?
-
Content creators are not the reason people DC. And without content creators, there would be a dead game.

I'm not even sure because they don't give an actual resolution slider but my monitor is set to 3440x1440 though since I'm still running a 1070 in games I set resolution to 2560x1440 for higher fps
Same. I'm on ultrawide w/ same resolution. I play on 2560 with double black bars because the game is too zoomed in and unplayable on 3440.

I was suprised since i never seen a ttv do it
I can think of one large streamer that does it all the time - although obviously never at the level you are describing. In my opinion, it's usually always the bad / narcistic players that have complaints.
-
People complaining about winning. What's new?
-
DC Penalties don't fix the core issue as to why people are DCing in the first place.
-
I get a ton of autohaven as killer. Maybe I'm just lucky.
-
C Tier Killer.
I think buffing him may be a challenge though because making him strong will make him decimate lower rank players. Especially with M1 insta down.
-
Most people who tell you how to play the game are usually not that good at the game. Don't listen to them.
In general, I would say that patrolling and even sometimes face camping (even though I don't facecamp) is fine. As long as you are making the logical play in the situation it's fine. Which a lot of the times during end game means you should be patrolling a hook instead of running to a gate and letting everyone off.
Where camping is an issue is when people do it in situations that don't make sense to ruin the game for the other side (e.g., if you're face camping someone at 5 gens).
If you want to find people in the community to play with, I would recommend the DBD discord. Can also add me if you want to play a few games on surv.
-
Is survivor even fun if you aren't running at the killer every game?
In all seriousness, game definitely has its downs. hmu when u come back and we can swf it up. Maybe you can carry my rank 20 ass.
-
Because statistically speaking nurse doesnt have a high win rate due to difficulty. So against the average nurse you are more likely to win against than slinger / spirit.
Also Nurse is much more interactive than slinger and Spirit. As a survivor you can see and hear nurse charge up, you can tell how long she has charged up for and react accordingly. Whereas Slinger and Spirit you have no feedback.
-
Game is toxic, but there are a lot of games that are worse.
I'm at like 50+ games as killer without toxic comments. Maybe it's a regional thing.
-
"How often do you dc?"
Survivor: Yes
-
Edit: There's a stupid narrative going around that second chance perks let survivors make bad plays.
It's quite the opposite actually, second chance perks allow you to make good plays. If someone uses a second chance perk incorrectly and makes a bad play (e.g., getting grabbed when going for the save with BT), that's on them.
The same way that using killer abilities allows you to play differently (e.g., not vaulting windows on Nurse / Deathslinger / Huntress) is not a bad play. However, if you're playing huntress incorrectly and not breaking a pallet and missing 100 hatchets then it is a bad play.
tldr; play how you want. don't let people justify how they want you to play by calling your playstyle bad.
-
People get mad over everything.

I like The Doctor because of his laugh too, but mostly because of his power its easy to find the survivors if they are near by crouching somewhere hidden. Just shock their a** and i love the maddness!
Bubba is my favorite for Killer cause he's cute. But Doc would be a close second. If you ever watch Doc's actions from the survivor perspective when you're not in chase it looks pretty funny. Plus his weapon is a stick.
Feng for surv.

Today my internet was a bit bad and I've missing quite some free hits the entire game and that's frustrating enough. On top of that, whenever I downed someone I can't even find them because my internet was so bad and I'm not even sure where I was when I downed them. And in the end they all flashlight clicking me at exit and calling me slurs in chat and accuse me of lag switching. 1k hrs into the game and not even once have I used any form of hacks. This game somehow upsets me a lot and in order to not get too tilted I wish someone can talk me out of this depressing mood :/
I can understand clicking in game, but for people who are toxic in post game chat, it makes it easier to walk away knowing they are just children that need attention. Try not to take it personally, there's going to be people like that.
-
If you're queueing at rank 16, the chances you are going against a survivor swat is really low..
-
Seems like you're unlucky.
Try to look for crows if survivors are hiding.

Was patched. And how do you know they did it 10s before game started?

The one thing that really makes me mad in game, is when you are hooked and your teammate is being chased so they decide to unhook you to distract the killer. Causing you to be rehooked right away and go into second stage or death. Sh***y teamatessssssss are the worst.
Farming sucks :(. That's why DS is almost necessary in solo q.

So she's even worse if played right. Which is what people claim every Deathslinger player does by default 'play right'. which is nonsense.
Could you people at least be honest enough to say it outright that you don't want the character (and people who like him) in the community at all? That'd be nice (some of you do have that decency at least)
So basically, this isn't supposed to be a bait thread, but if someone disagrees with you, it's not that they have valid reasons as to why they disagree. They just don't like you and your character?
-
@MeltingPenguins said:

Not more than an average Deathslinger aiming. Again, a good Huntress will hit you just the same as a good Deathslinger, and due to the different hitboxes so will an average huntress compared to an average deathslinger.
The Charge Up is nothing as it all boils down to the players.
Ok, so give deathslinger a 1.25 second wind up time before he can shoot if you don't see any differences between Deathslinger and Huntress.
-
You literally answered your own question in the first sentence of Point 2.
Huntress has to charge up her hatchets. Which introduces interactive counterplay.
-
Dont use Spacebar. Use your mouse. The delay is shorter.
-
I think we should just accept that he's unfun to play against and here to stay.
-
Unfun. Very.
Nerf. No. He can't be nerfed without completely gutting him.
