Will provide an update after playing this weekend:
Overall, I think that bloodlust didn't really affect my games as killer. However, I think my original point still stands. While playing survivor, I have still noticed that some beginner killers need bloodlust.
On the other hand, I don't really understand how people can claim they are very experienced with killer and absolutely need bloodlust (same people that are claiming car loops are infinites). There may be 2 or 3 loops which still need tweaking for high level play, but overall BL doesn't make that much of a difference.
-
It's not as bad as people make it out to be if used correctly.
I just think that the perk gets a bad reputation because every new player runs to the corner to self-care every time they are injured.
That being said, bringing a good medkit is more effective.
-
The huntress just has a better gaming chair.
-
Ever since cross-play was enabled, queue times on survivor have gotten worse - at least from a PC perspective. Makes sense because the majority of console players are survivor mains, whereas there is a better mix on PC side.
Overall - I didn't see much of a difference in queue times this week compared to the last few weeks. Evening = long survivor queues, Morning = short survivor queues. In fact, I switched over to EU during midnight in NA and had instant queues on survivor.

What do you mean???
People need bloodlust because of the Z-Wall infinite.

ummm the numbers are there.... if you want to look you'll see the numbers here is the direct link and you can see the numbers for yourself, and by mousing over the player line it WILL tell you specific time and number of players at that time: https://steamcharts.com/app/381210#48h
This is the 48h from the time you click that link I believe, I doubt that you will get what I got for that. I also went to 7 days to compare last friday night midnight (going to saturday) to friday midnight going to sat the 21st. I did not invent any narrative I commented about numbers from the chart, and though the lines are 40K and 20K in the chart you can guestimate the number, backing yourself up by seeing it when you touch the chart it'll tell you the specifics at each hour it represents.
Now tell me specifically what you are trying to tell me about the chart that you think i was interperting incorrectly or else why did you comment without intending to try and enter into a discussion about it outside of just trying to accuse me of something you're unwilling to even do yourself.
Forums cleared my last post so I will keep it short.
It looks like you are comparing last week's Friday to this week's Thursday. In the screenshot you posted above, at the very right of the chart would be Friday (today at midnight) which definitely doesn't get close to 28K. If you use Friday for both weeks, you will get 35.5K (last week) vs 35.0K (this week), which basically shows there is no change week over week.
If you want to compare week to month (38K number to 35K number), you have to adjust for seasonality. To do that you would have to compare YoY. If you do a YoY comparison, playerbase has increased 1.5X.
It just seems like you are fishing for something that isn't there. Let's just enjoy the game, BL test or not and see how things play out.

- You're comparing the wrong days - Last week's Friday to this week's Thursday. You can tell by looking at the chart you screenshotted, that the number all the way on the right (which is today, Friday at midnight EST) that the concurrent players are well above 28K.
- The actual numbers show that today at midnight at 35K vs last week at midnight 35.5K which is essentially no change and within any margin of error.
- When you look YoY which is how you should actually look at charts to adjust for seasonality, you see that the player base has doubled. Week over week comparisons show nothing, especially when talking about the long term health of a product.
It just seems like you're fishing for something that's not there. Let's just play the game and see how things pan out.

fun fact that bloodlust being gone = fast killer matches! why? they get out of a match and they're right back in a match! survivors get to wait 5-10 minutes for a 4 stack group! gotta love that! yea it's soooo good that players have noted that some maps it's good but others it's bad. my experience: why do i want to play a game that's going to make me wait or cripple my game play... i'd rather not spend another dime on a game doing that and find one that isn't doing that to me. this weekend (friday) has already shown that the killers that didn't like the decision to do that decided to take a weekend OFF and it's showing on survivor side. now this is WITH cross play on. so yes thank you for showing me that without a true solution this game will start a downward spiral. here is what i'm talking about:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/O06W88YNYIF5/dbd-today-jpg.jpg
this was taken at 1am eastern time frame (or very close to it) and you will notice that the player base is dropping dramatically. last 30 days has an average of 38.8K and at midnight eastern it was at 35K. TRUE that is about the time the east coast starts dropping off but i was watching survivors play at 10pm eastern and it was bad. also if you look at the level on the day before at this time it's just barely over that, why do i point this out? this is the weekend for most people. Now this is also only listing from STEAM and though the "test" covers all platforms the numbers I've talked about are ONLY for steam thus you can see the trend. I'd love to see the trend on the other platforms but i don't think it's going to show much difference in the trend. We will have to see how the 3 day test goes, but it's a very tough thing to play through a test like this that is sprung on a player base like this was and without some sort of compensation to try and keep things working like a normal weekend playing day.
I just looked at last friday the 13th and there were 36K people playing at midnight and today at midnight there were 28K players... a difference of 8,000 players. that's a huge difference and worrisome if this becomes reality. You may like it but that isn't the whole so take a look at things from more than just your own experience look at other people's as well.
With all due respect, I'm not quite sure if you're trying to invent a narrative or if you're having trouble reading the chart.

They changed how collision works when the killer vaults.
You need to crouch near the end of the animation to get it to work now. It's harder though.

Oh my gosh y'all... My game breaks so often and I have had a bad streak of games where I'll go against a red rank killer and be matched with green/low purple ranks and I have gone down so. many. pips. I don't know if I should be more upset about the MMR, or the fact that I expect my game to crash at least once every day! I think what annoys me the most about it is that I depip and I have almost given up on this game because of that. I play well, and I am not going to blame everything on my teammates, but sometimes the matchmaking is... rather bad. On both sides. I guess that's my first negative post, but I'm just upset that my game crashing causes a penalty and messes up my rank, even though I understand why they implemented it.
Yea, it's really frustrating to lose a game to something that is actually out of your control. In terms of matchmaking, it definitely sucks - I would play with a SWF. Even if you're not on coms, you at least know you have a reliable team. Personally, I don't play the game to escape, I just meme and try to do funny things to keep the game interesting. At a certain point, the game becomes stale and that's when you have to invent your own objectives. Whether it's trying to pebble the killer or running a plunder build, it'll be more fun.
Are you on console? I heard they have been having more crashing issues recently.

[Insert generic do bones argument]

Bring a broken key also
Make sure you get sacrificed though so the devs don't nerf no mither.

I don't get why people defend the walls, you explained it better than I could have.
Nobody is defending the walls. If you want to make a click bait title about god loops, then expect people to point out the obvious. Which is, they're not.

it is a god loop until you do. If you can break a door that doesn't make it not a door because you can. God loops just shouldn't be in the game period, even if its a one use one. You're forcing killers into a another lose lose situation.
It's not a god loop. If I refuse to break shack pallet and run around infinitely with bloodlust tier 9999999, that's my own fault. This is distorting an actual issue - which is real god loops. Like old storehouse.
-
Just break the wall. It's literally the same as breaking a pallet.
Except it's better for you because it's pre-dropped.

Lets wait and see what BHVR thinks after the test, then we can yell at them for removing our favourite things from the game.
chillax and play this weekend.
I'm all for trying something new out. I just want to point out the use cases that might not necessarily be apparent from looking at the "data".
-
I was honestly pleasantly surprised by this suggestion after reading the title.
I think it's interesting.
-
So, these "toxic" survivors believe you aren't allowed to use any perks.
And then you go on to complain about their perks.
-
So you're telling me I can't bloodlust 9,000 these trash survivors??????????
I'm malding.
-
Yea it's one of those things where on paper it seems fine, but can be abused when used by coordinated teams.
Not really much upside for the average player but there are use cases where there is a lot of downside. Would put in the same category as things like head on.
-
Can I join this toxic party?
I'm really bad at both survivor and killer and need to be carried.

An exaggeration on his part, but you get the idea: a killer's perk being equipped but unable to be used. Imagine if that happened to survivor perks.
In my respectful opinion, it sounded more like a lack of understanding; like you could cleanse NOED similar to other hex perks in the beginning of the game.
And no, I don't get the idea. There are tons of perks that situationally have 0 use on both sides. In fact, if survivors actually cleansed five totems every game because of a possible threat of NOED, then NOED would be the strongest slowdown perk in the game.
For the record, I could care less about NOED as a perk and don't think it's overpowered. But would like more convincing evidence rather than the generic <survivor> / <killer> is OP because they have X, Y, Z without looking at the other side.
-
NOED spawns after all the gens are done. Which means it can't be preemptively removed without cleansing all 5 totems.
-
Get in the habit of looking the opposite way of what you are going to do.
Here are a couple examples:
- If you are going to vault a long wall, look away as if you will run around and then vault at the last second
- Hide red stain around corners by moonwalking
- On short loops, fake one way and then go the other
- Right after a survivor takes a corner, fake doubling back by turning around and then continue to follow them by moonwalking

bruh are you good?
Imagine trying to force people to like pineapple on pizza and then being offended when they tell you they don't like it.
Only to follow it up by forcing it down their throat.
p.s. pineapple on pizza is great btw

My point still stands, I am a complete idiot lmao
I'm an idiot also. But you're probably still smarter than me.
-
SWF or Solo, when going against a mori, you're probably better off sitting on a gen and waiting until second phase. Unless you are really close to the player. Obviously if the killer gets a lot of pressure you need to change your game plan up.
However, in practice, people often save on 1st hook (Me included).

Just because stealth is boring to YOU doesn't mean it's boring to everyone one. If you want to play tag so badly, go play fortnite or spell breakers. Bullying someone on the forums or in game due to some misguided sense of superiority or just to troll is both unhelpful and asinine.
Is pointing out a fallacious assumption in someone's argument bullying now? Maybe instead, you should come up with an actual counter argument? Just because you're offended doesn't mean I'm wrong.
And for the record, you're the one who's telling me to leave and play another game. Based on your logic, you would be the unhelpful bully.
-
It's generally not good to back your argument up by saying "anyone who disagrees with me is entitled".
-
Stealth is incredibly boring for both sides.
Just because you can't win consistently on a killer doesn't mean the killer can't win consistently. Unless consistently means you want a free win in 100% of games.
-
The timing for getting a flashlight save is really small.
You can't stun the killer when they are in animation. So you have to time it perfectly so your flashlight blind goes through once they get out of animation.
Too early and they are still in animation and don't get stunned. Too late and they turn away and you don't get the blind.
In your case, you're blinding too early.
-
I think a fair amount of the community concerns have been addressed well recently - Mainly bugs and unbalanced maps.
That being said, I think it's time for performance issues to be addressed. I do think it will be a major challenge, especially through lines and lines of spaghetti code accumulated throughout the years.
Lastly, while I would like to see the devs be more iterative on perk changes, I can see why they might not like this. Especially when there are 10+ threads posted about every perk change people don't like.
-
Most SWFs are just people trying to play with their friends. And more often than not, they can be pretty nice.
However, I also think that there is a minority where playing with friends can also bring out toxicity in players. Especially when they are encouraging each other to be toxic.
-
Doctor is very similar to other M1 killers, so I would say he isn't that hard to learn.
I would self record games and take note of mistakes.. (e.g., are you overcommitting to a chase?, are you getting 360'd?)
Also run gen slowdown perks like ruin/undying or Corrupt.
Keep grinding and you'll get the hang of it. Like all other "new" things you will be bad at first. If you don't get discouraged and stick with it, it'll pay off.

Short Answer: They were changed so the angle is different. You have to aim higher now.
Long Answer: Like most things in DBD, we don't know if it's a feature or a bug. There has been no indication of either, so I would guess it's here to stay.
-
Your local blendette needs to make a living somehow.
-
Nurse is actually good design.
Since this game lacks a competitive aspect to it (No real ranking system), the only way to really judge good design is whether the killer is fun to play as and against.
As a killer, you feel a lot of satisfaction if you can land blinks accurately, something which requires a lot of training. As a survivor, you feel as if you have input against most nurses (much more than many other killers in the roster), and you are also statistically most likely to win against Nurse.
You can argue that she's overpowered in really trained hands, but I would disagree about it being bad design.
-
There's nothing wrong with the hatch. Keys are the problem.
-
Matchmaking is really bad due to imbalanced queue times. If queue times get really bad for one side, then they will essentially start matching you against random players.
I guess you would make a better case if you weren't devotion 4.. you probably have more hours than those survivors. But I agree, matchmaking is really bad.
-
Nah. Knowing when to wait/walk during a chase is what differentiates a good and God survivor.
-
Fake. Shack pallet gets thrown at 5 gens in Solo Q.
-
Hits are killer sided so they register from the killer point of view. This is especially prevalent when there is lag involved.
There's a new system in the works to try to remedy this.
-
The current problem with high ranks in DBD is that the game literally does not reward you for being good at the game.
The only reward you currently get is sweatier games where people will bring more unfun things to ruin your experience(Keys, Moris, etc). Why be rank 1 when you are going to have a lot more fun at rank 8?
And bloodpoints are honestly not enough of an incentive, shown by how often people DC when penalties are off.
-
Honestly, if you go into a game with the mentality you're going to lose, you're not going to have a fun time and you're not going to improve.
SWFs are strong, but they are definitely beatable. Focus on what is in your control.
-
It's not a crutch. It's part of the game.
You can get kills without using your power. That doesn't mean using your power is a crutch.
You can escape without dropping pallets. That doesn't mean dropping pallets is a crutch.
-
Survivors should be to yeet killers out of the way.
-
Because it's obviously a conspiracy to defraud you of bloodpoints.
