So you would be OK with someone being negative to you every day of your life. That's good information...
Sorry for the delay was busy, you clearly didn’t read my comment though lol

Right because there's any distinction at all between someone telling you you're trash in real life or a video game... yeah we can all agree that harassment is OK
I'm not tryna be rude or incendiary but I genuinely believe that calling someone trash in real life should offer no consequences because that's not harrassment haha. If you used a slur or make repeated attempts to aggressively intimidate someone (which is what real harassment is, not a one off insult) then I'd be singing the same tune as you. But I think it's actually counter-productive for these kinds of discussions to flat out refuse to acknowledge that not every unsavoury online interaction, or display of bad sportsmanship comes under the definition of harassment. People throw this word around way too much and it really muddies what actually constitutes abuse and harassment
-
Yes, but this should apply to both survivors and killers not just one role

You give your team mates a free 5th perk of infinite free and super fast heals that undo killers pressure in seconds
I see what you mean now, I thought you meant 5th on the person who is using it. Although does that mean that all surv perks that effect others are also technically 5th perks? Like kindred or vigil for example? Not tryna be incendiary here or anything I just wanna get on the same page

I do not get your point?
That is the entire point I am making, if they are not near a boon there is literally no point going out of your way to stomp it. So they can just constantly return to that boon for infinite free heals - a 5th perk.
5th perk?? Isn't it literally apart of the 4 perk slots if you choose to run it?
-
And @Clowning , @Huge_Bush really should done this all in one hit but the names kept coming to me everytime I already clicked post
-
@C3Tooth , @Grandpa_Crack_Pipe and @Pulsar too
-
@Sluzzy , @ThiccBudhha , @GoodBoyKaru come to mind :)
-
Meh. Just don't listen to people lol it's as easy as that
-
Are they? Maybe coz of timezones I missed it but I haven't really seen much crying about that, just the usual lol
-
They're my main and have been since they came out but these nerfs man... toy sword was all I used to need even with then 5sec stuns
-
I was once healed by a "cumdemon"
-
At this point, whatever, as a brown man I have much bigger racism problems than the leatherface thing
-
Steves, idek why I wasn't even that into stranger things but yeah
-
If you remove the distance though wouldn't you still be able to smack em down right after? I main Twins and use Charlotte to down and as it is usually when people dead hard they I down them a few second later anyways unless they made it to a vault, maybe she's just a faster character but yeah, without the distance I'm imagining the survivor dodging the hit and then me hitting them down immediately after because they'd still be right in front of me? I don't understand how i-frames and stuff like that works if someone could explain to me :$

No.
People can just remember who's dead on hook or what hook states they are at. And if someone wants to tunnel and camp they will, and in the current state that playstyle is more beneficial even if the less fun.
All hiding the numbers does is split the difference between killers and survivors more.
Instead of survivors having to remember to play better/smarter they gave them a visual clue. Prime example of holding the survivors hands when it wasnt needed, this just helps people be more lazy for one side while forgetting the other.
Me and my raisin for a brain disagrees that you can just remember where everyone's at all the time XD

I mean you could make a mental note of it and say it out loud before you hook them. So you could say "Ok this is Neas first hook" or "I've hooked Elodie twice now", etc.
Idk I play stoned af so I have a lot of trouble remembering who is on what hook, I don't like tunneling so feels bad when I kill someone I thought for sure wasn't on death hook

I don't seem to have access to either of these games on xbox so unless that changes I'm stuck with this lol

It’s about the amount of time it takes to rescue another person. Survivors see exactly where the person is, and with Kindred they see killers too. They can plant their butts on gens and leave. Rescue at their leisure. Survivor also sees the hook bar.
If you didn’t know exactly where the person was with base aura read this would makes survivors take more time to actually search for their mates. Meaning they’re not doing gens. Giving the killer time to go kick gens, break doors, and even chase other people.
Killers will camp because they feel that they can’t leave that spot without survivors being rescued the moment they walk away. After all everyone else sees a large, glowing red person in the distance doing jumping jacks.
Like, c’mon! How much more does survivor need? It’s easy! Survivor already excel at chase given the most perks that can’t be countered. Decisive? Dead Hard? Unbreakable? Borrowed? You need to see everyone too?? 😂
Killer is tolerable with aura reading.
I can't speak for others but I don't use kindred, decisive, dead hard, ub or bt
Idk I do get what you're saying here, but imo the ability for survivors to see hooked and downed peoples auras is not the thing that hurts my killer games, it's usually the exhaustion perks wasting my time

Again. There’s Keys and add ons from the bloodweb that lets you see people. A myriad a of ways to communicate. In and outside the game. There is no counter argument for this. It’s like saying make BBQ basekit and have killer see everyone every time they hook someone. That isn’t fair right?
Think about how BBQ or Bitter Murmur lets a Huntress main snipe from across the entire map with hatchets. She can’t ever really do that without that intel, can she? Not at all.
Survivor is no different. I saw where you are downed/hooked. I got straight there. Without losing any real time. Because there’s no searching or watching out for anything other than a killer who has gargantuan TR that tells you exactly where they are. Having TR is more than enough intel for survivors. Without Oblivious or Undetectable you know they’re camping too. So, yeah. 😂
No counter argument? Survivor seeing aura of downed team mate is no different to huntress with bitter murmer/BBQ? Lmao I didn't realise as survivor you can snipe killers this is a game changer :O
-
I don't do it for them, I do it because I want to and that's probably a good place to start. If you do it hoping for gratitude from them, you will be very disappointed many times. Because I don't care whether they appreciate it or not I don't get phased by the BM at the end that inevitably happens at some point if you like to play fair
-
DBD is also unique in the way that I have never come across another game fanbase that whinges so much at t bagging lol

Was just about to ask. First time I've seen this one. If it's just survivors following the killer with a flashlight to get saves, I'd say it's pretty good since they're being useless all match.
If it's a survivor who camps pallets, drops them and blinds the killer, I'd just drop chase, or in the case of OP with lightborn, it's again pretty good since they are too cocky and you usually can get free hits.
Colour me slightly baffled as well haha

It is only difficult, you pick your hook choices wrong. If you use a little bit of braincells with it, you will have 0 problems.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2700271#Comment_2700271
They shouldnt though. The entire point and mechanic for them is that only 4 of them spawn randomly, thats the entire risk / reward coming into play. This way at least there is a somewhat counterplay to them. if all hooks would be scourge hooks, then there is no counterplay, and thats when it becomes unbalanced. It just promotes you deciging if you want to get the scourge hook on a down or if you rather get a normal one. Choices and rewards.
True actually, I didn't think about that coz I don't use scourge hook very much. Unless there's a bunch of oak offerings I can usually find at least 2 hooks in hooking range when I down someone anyways
-
Yanno, does anyone else feel like gens fly when they are playing killer, but when you play survivor it's like pulling teeth to get 1 gen done? Haha :'(
-
I like it, forces me to get smart about my hook choices. I do wish scourge hooks would at least defer to other hooks in play if it becomes a sacrifice hook
-
What's a flashlight-camper??

Because Spirit was mostly inspired by ring girl and I assume she’ll have about the same power just like Bubba and Billy.
I was under the impression Spirit was inspired by Onryō? In Japanese mythology they are are vengeful spirits, literal translation iirc
-
I honestly do get a little bit frustrated if I'm unable to make any progress in whatever tome challenge I'm trying to do when getting tunneled out, but I've never gotten frustrated enough at this game ever to go out of my way to message people. No endgame chat on console so none of that either, I doubt that would change my tendency to just move on to the next match though. It is what it is, and it's only a game.
-
Meh I never wasted a perk slot on it and I'm not gonna start now with Vigil buff for SB

Aaahh I'm lucky, this problem doesn't effect me much because I almost NEVER use Victor to down (even before the stupid 5sec stun) so I'm golden XD
-
Dunno I get bored with that playstyle, and I'm a Twins main they were built for that ######### lol. But it's um not fun to me since I don't really care about kills let alone 4k, I just wanna have fun

I never said he was wrong about the overheat mechanic
He said hillbilly was still good
Which isn't even objectively true
Because he isn't, he isn't good at all
There's about 4-5 killers that do everything he does but better
People throw around the word "objectively" way too much around clearly subjective preferences lol. Not saying I disagree that Hillbilly feels sucky to play now, but that's not an objective demonstrable reality, as clearly others don't feel that way haha

Once me and a mate were dead and spectating the last survivor alive from our trial (some random Jane)
- both her and the Myers stumble upon eachother when they both run down the same corridor from opposite directions (Myers not running but had knife up)
- the moment they see eachother, at the exact same time, they both stop dead in their tracks and stare at eachother
- after a few seconds of staring at eachother at a small distance, Jane continues to stand still and just throws down a firecracker
- the last thing we see before the blind hits is the back of Myers head, as he immediately and completely 180'd as soon as the firecracker went down
- the blind goes for a few seconds obvs we can't see anything
- when the blind ends and we can see whats in front of us again, Myers is still just standing in the same spot but staring at the Jane again
The perfect comedic timing of the entire interaction was enough to send my friend and I into tears.
Jane then accepted her fate and got moried lol
-
Back with old BT if I knew they had it I was able to use Victor to avoid it since it was based on terror radius it was dirty but I kinda miss it XD
-
I usually down them and pick them up, and then go find and chase their team mates while they're on my shoulder lol. When I feel them start to wiggle then I'll hook them. And then leave them alone for a little bit haha
-
Don't they just needa find 1 for boon??
-
Coz gamers are pieces of #########. Jks lol, but I do wonder about how the demographic of the type of people who tend to play games intensely impacts their propensity for sportsmanship. Like is it teenagers? Antisocial people? Angry people who want a verbal punching bag? Idk man
-
Usually the people complaining about bleeding out are people who haven't hidden from the killer though. The ones that do it on purpose are usually aiming to deny the hook so the bleed out is welcomed so usually they ain't complaining

When you have to resort to semantic nitpicking in an argument, you've probably already lost.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2684823#Comment_2684823
Ditto when you resort to puerile copycatting.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2684797#Comment_2684797
Fatalism is mostly just another word for apathy. There are plenty of ways to discourage this, or to encourage more positive behavior - and other games have managed some pretty amazing turnarounds in this regard.
'Mental fortitude' doesn't work the same way you think it does. That's mostly about being able to control your actions no matter what you are feeling. Being able to struggle on and continue to do your job despite being massively depressed and the like.
Controlling feelings isn't really possible. That's not how human beings operate on a neurological level.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2684664#Comment_2684664
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whataboutism
Sigh.
Uh it's not semantic nitpicking since my entire argument is contingent on there being a stark difference between crappy sportsmanship and abuse. Not really sure why you linked me to whataboutism considering I never once accused that person of hypocrisy? They asserted that tea bagging is harassment, I outlined why I disagree with that by alluding to my anecdotal experience with real harassment. That's not whataboutism lol

First of all is being rude for no reason any better?
And second if you are rude just cause you can to this extent its harassment
As someone who has often been on the receiving end of harassment and racial abuse both irl online, yes in-game rudeness in the form of innocuous character movements is a million times nicer than being maliciously and personally attacked. If this is the hill you're gonna die on so be it, but tea bagging is not and will never be considered egregious enough an action to be a bannable offence.
TL;DR Unsportsmanlike conduct =/= abuse & harassment.

Yeah case closed buddy if you don't see how it's just unnecessary to do something we all know you do to harras when the other side is probably frustrated enough cause the had a bad game no body can help you

OH come on its so much easier to be a bad person than being a good one
The fact that you think that being mildly rude in a video game makes someone a bad person just baffles me so much lol sorry. I'd be agreeing with you more if we were talking slurs/abuse/harassment but we are talking about CROUCHING REPEATEDLY!! Hahah

Man just make it short and write I like to tbag cause I'm a bad person that makes the bug guy when I win at a game
I don't do it because I think it's lame, but kinda hilarious that your threshold for what constitutes a "bad person" is so damn low. Do you even hear yourself

Oh my god, how is it so hard to get this simple logic? It's not only about me. It's about many people, that can't or don't ignore it and get tilted over it. They carry it to the next game and let it out of survivors they may or may not intented to be toxic. But they carry that then to the next game and bm the killer and so on. How can people not understand the simple logic behind it?
Because it's laughable. If you can't ignore it like most people you should stop playing PvP games and stick to solo experiences. You clearly can't handle something as weak as a random person pressing a button at you so perhaps it's time to find something you do have enough resilience for. Repeatedly crouching/flashlight clicking is not abuse or harassment, stop acting like it is anywhere close lol
-
@DbD_Enjoyer said:
Its a way to call survivors and tell them its safe to unhook, or they should at least try "now".
If the survivor is not waving on the hook, it usually means that its unsafe because the killer is nearby.
I can't say I've heard that before, usually it's the other way round but idk it's gotten muddied these last couple of years lol
-
It used to only mean killer is camping. Now I have no idea lol. When I'm about to die on hook I'll start waving my arms in frustration, but other than that I still use it as killer is in front of me alert
-
No it's literally as easy as ignoring them. If it bothers you that much then go do something else while this is happening? Or perhaps find a hobby thay doesn't involve interacting with strangers?
-
I wish they revealed whether people are SWF post game, so many people would realise how many SWFs they do decimate. Because most SWFs are dogshit - mediocre lol
-
My main, Twins, specifically with cats eye and toy sword add ons. I spend all my energy constantly jump scaring the survivors with slow silent creepy Victor and have a blast every time. Plague is my second for laughs
