That's good! At least you're taking account of your personal interests!

Yay! love to see a fellow Twins main. Their power can be pretty fun(ny) to use and I also love their concept so much that even though matches can be frustrating, I still love them.
My favourite games are when I put cats eye and toy sword on, I pretty much throw the game to always slowly sneak up on survivors doing gens and making them poop themselves when I finally pounce hahahah

After a while it becomes easier to just assume all survivors are the worst and be safe, than to be friendly and be sorry.
I play selfishly when I'm solo, and I don't care about the Survivors fun when I am Killer. A lot different than I was starting out or when I started to be good at the game.
Hey whatever floats your boat man. I am sometimes tempted to go that route when the survivors are being massive BMing jerks, but I have this mental defiance thing where if I did end up letting them tilt me in a way that changes my default "chill and fun" playstyle I would feel like they've won and I can't let that happen *shakes fist at the air*

Thanks for clarifying! I definitely didn’t understand your first post in this way and this I can totally feel.
representation will never be able to cover every individual. But I guess that’s also why it’s important to have widespread representation in every kind of media. As every media will (hopefully) use different kind of representation it will naturally become easier for an individual to see themselves represented somewhere even if not in one specific movie or game. Also it will help to fight stereotypes and normalize LGBTQ+ as a whole and in all its flavors.
I wholeheartedly agree with you, sorry I wasn't very clear at first I didn't put much thought into my wording haha but thanks for listening and hearing me. I don't talk about that part of my life very much if ever coz of the extreme shame baggage so this little exchange has felt more cathartic for me than I would have ever guessed so thanks :) ♡

That’s great for you! Then you already feel kind of represented. There is also really no one asking for every character to have their sexuality and gender etc revealed.
but there are people out there who would be glad about explicit representation. Or rather not explicit exclusion which is kind of currently the state (the devs have stated they have done it unintentionally and they want to be inclusive)
Yeah that's why I didn't say this notion is a stupid/bad thing or anything like that coz I understand the importance - I more meant to just vent the way that it unfortunately wouldn't solve my feelings of underrepresentation in media because that always gets complicated by my under the radar choice (i.e how are creatives meant to make a fictional character trans, but also stealth, meaning everyone consuming would know they're trans, completely negating the stealth aspect of it for me anyways? Can't really happen realistically so I feel I've boxed myself into a corner there).
I hope that made more sense of where I was coming from, because I do hope they go for it already, I just have bittersweet unresolved feelings about it which was what I was meaning to relay. I think the only sex scene in media I've ever felt I could relate to was Greyworm's in Game of thrones, him being a male eunoch and all, which probably illustrates best where my head tends to be at in regards to my feelings about myself D:

I would ######### love some corpse paint cosmetics

I like playing killers whose powers make me laugh no matter what, which is why I main Twins and Plague

@Kurri said:
Idc either way, all survivors are the same and deserve the worst treatment.
That is....not a fact lol
-
I wouldn't feel very represented by an openly trans character, I am a stealth transman so most people irl don't know about my past. For all you know Jeff could be trans lmao
-
Let's be real though no one is pushing you to do anything lol you're doing that of your own volition. Which there is nothing wrong with of course, just don't act like you are being forced into doing stuff you don't wanna do when if you really wanted to you could just NOT. But you wanna 4k which again nothing wrong with but you've made a decision, just own it?

I proved my point with your answer, tell me you don't play killer without telling me you don't play killer, or well twins.
Sorry to butt in here but I am a Twins main and I always have Charlotte and Victor in close proximity. This person here may not main Twins but they're not completely off base, this only ruins you if you are the type of Twins player who spams Victor, mass slugs and doesn't take adequate care of Charlotte's positioning

well yeah there's windows, and a certain perk which can help extend the chase by at least 30 seconds when used correctly.
That certain perk is unusable on last gen console :'(

Idk I still have fun because I derive it from myself and that's all I need. If you aren't having any it's time to move on and find something that does give you fun, otherwise you're just wasting your free time

Hahaha you got me there XD it's okay though it's just my culture, constantly beat your kids to a bloody pulp then wonder why they run away and get married in another country and don't send you $$$ anymore

If survivors clearly win and are better at the game, they can do sound notifs and tbagging as much as they wish, I don't give two shits about it. If they obviously won (e.g. 2 hook states only and the exit gates are powered) I just open the gate, go into the corner and force them out of the game.
What I find incredibly insulting and rude is that they have to spam you with messages in the end-game chat "gg ez, noob killer, good looping grandpa, yade-yade-yada". Remember kids, words can hurt more than a fist to the face, you don't know what someone else is going through and they just want to distract themselves with a game they enjoy. Best not to bully them in said game also. :)
INB4 ANY SELF-PROCLAIMED MATHIEU COTE COMES IN HERE AND SAYS "JUST PLAY ANOTHER GAME IF YOU CAN'T BEAR THE INSULTS":
Just stop... What if the person actively enjoys playing the game ITSELF, but the community is just forcing them to rip out all their hair from all the insults and bullying.
It legit takes people 0 amount of time, effort and money to write a nice message saying "ggwp, was fun game" or anything similar. Don't live out your own insecurities on some stranger on the internet because you are the victim of domestic abuse in your school/work/home.
Grow the ######### up and act like an adult.
Alright I gave it my two cents, time to have all the salty people on the forum reply with "Someone had a bad day in DbD, oh poor you cry me a river, etc etc..." Toxicity disappoints me and amuses all at the same time. :)
It is totally rude and unnecessary I agree. Although I grew up getting punched in the face by my mother and I have trouble imagining how someone could find words more painful than a face punch :P
-
It's been dicey as her lately I'll admit, but I don't really do the down people/slug with Victor playstyle so it hasn't been as damning for my matches as described. But 1000% agree about the long ass fatigue times and would love for them to take another look at it because with everything new recently being added it's gotten a bit much.

They can just message you on steam.
Oh I see, Xbox doesn't have steam and the messaging is pretty time consuming imo so I probably haven't encountered it coz it'd be impossible to send messages fast enough to update killer without an MnK or something
-
Idk just go do something else if it bothers you that much. As Plague I like to stand there and vomit in their general direction so they know how salty I'm feeling towards them lol
-
A lot of the explanations behind your reasoning didn't seem very objective to me, but hope ya feel better!

It doesn't come off to me as "REALLY WRONG" so much as just super uninspired lol

Hey I'm new to the game. (About 6 hours of gameplay and only level 7) I'm really liking it so far but I've noticed that the queue times for survivors is very long. Upwards to 10+ minutes. But queueing up as killer is very short. With the longest queue I've had being only 3 minutes give or take. Do players not like playing as killer? I'm not very good at killer so more often than not, I end up getting juked and not getting a single sacrifice. But when I play as survivor, I've seen killers wipe out the whole team with ease. I think killer is a lot of fun, but why don't people play killers often?
When first I started playing this I was a survivor my queues were always 30 - 40 minutes long D:<
So nowadays 10 mins or less is still a blessing to me but I don't play survivor much anymore

I was able to deal with the 5 second BS stun. But COH will make me never touch them again
I'm really hoping they look into making the boons at the very least not INFINITELY relightable, but I'm not gonna hold my breath or I might die lol

Those exist ? Weird....I thought if the 5 second stun didn't kill them off. COH and health states not existing would.
Hahaha it has been rough lately but I love them too much to give up on them, being on last gen console doesn't help either :'(

If you're a Twins main like me, always XD

MMR calculates based on kills and nothing else so a camping killer that gets a 4K is just as good as a killer who 12 hooks. Why would you pick the harder path to victory?
For me personally self respect but yeah hahaha there's not much of an incentive to go the harder route is there
-
Nah, nothing feels better than beating a Bubba with this playstyle
-
Been playing for several years now, yeah I've come across it a decent amount (I'm from south pacific region if that helps). I usually play pretty nice so survivors often do try to give me pity hook, I usually refuse because if I wanted to kill them I would. Usually when I refuse they just don't leave the trial and let themselves get killed by the entity even though I keep tryna drop them at the exit.

I hear you
I like diversity in perks, and I'd love to see nerfs and buffs put in place to encourage a wider diversity of perks to be used.
Also, I think at its core DBD is not a competitive/balanced game, it is a game about creating fun and tense situations, and the unpredictability adds to this.
I just feel like limiting the Survivors to being more like "classes", by limiting their perk choices, would be one way to make the game take steps towards being truly balanced and competitive.
I like that you're tryna brainstorm ideas for making this game better though instead of an unproductive rant! You're not wrong about balance being a doozy I just can't think of anything better than what you're suggesting :c
-
Also the unpredictability of each DBD match is what has drawn me in and kept me here for years now. Some things have gotten pretty stale so when I come across survivors running some weird ######### that confuses me in the game because I'm not used to playing around it, I get real excited. Having a more predictable idea of what you're gonna be up against in this game is like... the antithesis of fun for me
-
I don't like this idea my favourite perks to run are from 4 different survivors (Jake, Kate, Quentin and Meg) :(
-
You want it to take 12 seconds for a gen to start repairing? o.O
-
As Twins I used to get a lot of DC's as soon as they would hear me switch to Victor at the start. One match 3 of them DC'd as soon as they heard it, I ended up messaging the remaining survivor that I found hatch and to come and get out because the match was pointless and unfair at that stage. I didn't wanna farm I just wanted to queue up again so I could actually play the game. Sucked because I'm not a scummy Twins and survivors learn that pretty fast when they don't DC as soon as they hear Victor, but yeah I cbf'd farming coz the game was just ruined. Sorry that happened to you
-
I don't think any game could ever make me feel humiliated. That honour goes to real life people :'(

It's less 'nobody says thank you when I play nice' and more 'it grinds my grapes when people gloat about winning when I've played nice'.
Yes, yes, strangers on the internet and all that. It still does build up over time.
I do get the irritation, I usually play nice and am always pleasantly surprised when I get some good sportsmanship from survivors in return because it's soso rare but I hope you don't take that build up to heart. People be crappy like that when they are on opposing teams in anything especially when anonymity comes into it, somehow both sore winners & losers no matter how you play. Just do you and know that in the end it's not you, it's them taking the opportunity to inflate their egos because you're the outnumbered one
-
Well there's your problem, idk why people care so much about what others think in a game. You play nice because you want to, not for external validation. They didn't give you the pats on the back you wanted and now you're disappointed - that's why you shouldn't let your playstyle be dictated by the gratitude you think you should receive in a dumb game \o/

Hold on, what you are saying that proxy camping is not allowed either. So where do you suggest the killer goes when they hook somebody?
And did you not actually read what I said. There was two in the basement, not one. They had all been hooked and allowed to unhook.
As I said, survivors think that the killer should just let unhooks be allowed. There was time for somebody to get into basement, unhook and leave. It's really not my fault when the survivors just got to gate and leave people still on hook. Maybe we should have a new system for killers. They can only hook once and then have to open the gate.
I don't know why so many survivors cry about killers when they carry Decisive Strike, Borrowed Time, Unbreakable and then have boons. Killers are supposed to let the survivors win and not even try.
I'm confused now, 2 survivors died in basement 1 hook and you stayed in the house til they died didn't you? That's camping but them being salty about it doesn't mean it's not allowed they had an alright outcome with 2 escapes. Unless I'm interpreting what went down all wrong?

honestly at this point, ill just slug and tunnel as nurse/hag, pretty simple wins imo and if game is impossible to be played how it should then i wont
#NerfGens #NerfSurvivors
Doesn't that just ensure you get sweatier and sweatier survivors? From what you're saying I don't understand why you would want that. Everyone keeps sweating for the 4k then gets frustrated about getting matched with survivors on the same win-at-all-costs wave length? Unless you're a god or they make too many mistakes, they will win at those levels. For those who like a challenge it's great, but if you're wanting easy game smashing out 4ks with MMR probably isn't gonna do it?
-
Wins to me are if I have fun, still having plenty of that idk what to tell ya
-
I'm pretty meh about it all, ranking up never meant much to me in the first place. When MMR started my killer matches were a bit more challenging than I am used to, but I think that's starting to subside as I'm finally starting to get more evenly matched which I am enjoying. As opposed to each match either being a wipe out or a stomp with no in betweens, I might grow to like this more if this pattern keeps up
-
I thiiink the 3rd one, the others are less obvious and harder to prove
-
The grind. When I started I almost quit because I genuinely hated playing and wasn't sure if I wanted to sink time into getting better perks. Only stayed because my friends at that time refused to play anything else. This was years ago so I can't imagine how daunting the grind is now
