  • BBQ, DS, and some strong perks are kinda behind a paywall that benefits not only BHVR but also the owners of the licenses. Not everyone wants to play Laurie or Bubba, but everyone wants those perks. Making them plentiful in the shrine would deter people who want to have access to them without purchasing the respective chapters.

  • Spawn in the shack with another teammate who manages to drop god pallet.

  • Rip Dark Sense.

  • Freddy seems to have the same hitbox as any killer with the smallest character model. No wonder why he manages to land some exoteric hits. He could use a lunge animation update.

They're probably going to be reworked in the realm beyond updates. They just did Crotus Penn Asylum, so Red Forest is probably next.

My real question is, why are we complaining about Red Forest when Backwater Swamp exists?

I think Haddonfield will be next. There have been some rumors about the licensed being renewed by BHVR. Also, Swamp is in a much more critical state IMHO. There are lots of fat-shaming spots and crazy object spawns there.

Because Trapper is poor, so he has to pick his ######### up off the map because he can't afford his own. Didn't you watch Losing Colour's amazing guide? It's the #1 trapper information source out there!

Mah boy Trapper deserves a high-end skin that displays a Gucci Bag when he has a bag add-on equipped.

  • Same way as Freddy, drop pallets early. Usually, loops are composed of 2 cycles and you can try to extend its life by running the side that didn't pass gas.

Also, try to interchange tiles and break away after breaking LoS. Here's a video with good examples:

  • I am yet to test, but I hope the community just does not resonate their previous experiences or anecdotal evidence.

  • BT serves a different purpose than DS. The former is altruistic, the latter is for self-preservation. If the effect of BT was on the rescuer instead of the unhooked, I'd totally understand it but it is not.

Making BT ignored by protection hits renders it useless so long as the camping killer manages to land an M1 before the unhook.

  • Attach the link to whatever evidence you have in the post-match report you created.

I mean i don't know if it's just me but in the last month i rarely see anyone with DS. the number of no obsession games is crazy.

And that is in red ranks on both sides Oo When i play survivor as a duo, we always have an obsession coz we run a For the People/Blood Pact combo but when we don't there is rarely an obsession. And no obs perks = no obs game = tunneling.

More perks should reduce your odds of being obs and more perks should increase your odds

I propose to add this condition to the following perks :

    • Baby Sitter = +
    • Borrowed Time = +
    • Deliverance = -
    • Distortion = -
    • Leader = -
    • No Mither = -
    • Saboteur = +
    • Second Wind = -
    • Soul Guard = +
    • Technician = -
    • Unbreakable = +
    • We'll Make It = -
    • We're Gonna Life Forever = +

IMO, they should just make the Obsession spawn every game for the sake of consistency, just like totems spawn when no hex is used by the killer. There are score events that go unused in a game without obsession and inconsistent interactions such as the game starting with no obsessions only for Nemesis to create one mid-game.

  • Unfortunately, toxicity is subjective on the receiving end in general.

A few months ago had a Trapper drop a dying Claudette bc I saboed the hook. He then proceeded to follow me around the whole coal tower, down me by the shack, hook me, set all of his traps around me, and face camp for the whole 2 minutes. At the time I was distressed, but today I take face camp as a compliment.

And auto-sell unused items and add-ons when you prestige!

    Yes, please.

  • I'm gonna go against the flow here, I like going against twins. Kicking that goblin just lightens my mood for the day.

  • I'd rather be able to sell Garbage back to the entity at a 50% value.

  • No thanks. He has a worse map presence than Huntress, but he is much better in 1v1.

  • IMO:

1- Billy is underestimated by the community.

2- Billy is still one of the most skill expressive killers and one that is rewarding to put hours at.

3- The heat mechanic introduced in the rework made it difficult for players to train how to use his M2 in loops and curves. A change that maybe could help here could be making Speed Limiter remove the heat generation completely so that you can use it to train in matches.

  • If Bubba managed to rev a chainsaw against you, you probably were greedy.

1-Positioning before the chase. You don't wanna position yourself somewhere without windows or pallets nearby unless you have Sprint Burst. Many Bubbas run the Nemesis/Play with your Food combo and will get to you before you can reach a safe spot.

2-Chase while healthy. While looping, Bubba will gain distance on you, BUT there is a sweet distance spot where you can vault a window and he can M1 you, but not M2. Most Bubbas will greed here and allow you to reach a safe spot. If the do correctly M1, you need to use the haste effect to run as far as you can and reach a safe tile.

3-Chase while injured. Avoid the sweet spot from before. Just loop windows 3 times and proceed to the next loop. If Bubba has Bamboozle, you can interchange windows as the perk only blocks one window at a time.

4-Simple pallet loop with no vision cover. If healthy, you can for an M1 by slowing down close to the pallet and take the haste to get to a better tile. If injured and there is a safe tile nearby, don't greed. If injured with no safe tile you need to go for a pallet stun and you need practice here.

5-Last resort. If caught in an unsafe position and Bubba has time to rev the Chainsaw, run loops around trees, or other map assets.

  • I digress. everyone is in S tier against me.

  • I am a Survivor main, hear me out.

BBQ is not OP, it is overused due to the extra BP effect. If that effect was in Monstrous Shrine, I kid you not, Killers would be using MS instead. In a similar way, many survivors used WGLF when it didn't provide any extra effects.

Also, BBQ aura reading promotes healthier gameplay. Giving vision of targets far away allows the killer to more effectively contest main objectives while giving survivors the breathing room to perform rescues and heals safely.

  • As long as camping is effective, DS will be meta.

  • Oh, yeah, babe! Hit me with that raw big fat SQ experience. Gimme moar!

Didn't you read in the ToS that to join SQ you must be head deep into the kinky culture and ways of BDSM?

For as common of a perk it is to take, which shouldn't really be a thing because that means survivors could afford to waste a perk slot on it and still escape easily (brings "balance" into question) but now, slugging is worthless, more than before. There are no killer perks that give such a large speed boost in such a niece area (not a 100% pick-up/drop/hooking, nothing like that.)

I don't believe it's faviortisium from the devs, simply lack of actual game knoolage.

I propose its dropped from 100% (which reduces the time to heal someone from dying to injured from 16 to 8 seconds, this is without the slugged survivor recovery.) To a 25%, to bring it in line with other action speed changes that killer get offered from perks. Up to 25% from Fire-Up, 20% from Brutal Strength, 15% from Bamboozle.

While there are Killer perks they can give 40% or 50%, there is after all only 1 killer, not 4. So in reality, the downed to injured heal time as it currently is can be further reduced from 8 seconds to less than 4 seconds (healing is done in charges per second, if each survivor heals for 2 per second, it'll only take around 3 seconds to bring them up.)

The overall problem is that, with certain builds, survivors can heal tank at exit gates and escape. Kinda like what happened with old Freddy.

Ther Killer perks you mentioned (Fire up, Bamboozle, and Brutal strength) apply reductions to action durations while WGLF is an increase to speed. To accurately compare both, you should convert both to the same base. In that case, WGLF can be described as "while picking survivors on the ground, reduces healing time by 50%".

A more accurate comparison could be Coulrophobia. It doubles the time to heal (50% penalty to healing speed) while both have situational effects.

  • I don't really care that much if they do that, only if I have We'll make it.

  • Quarantine has not been doing well for any of us.

  • One of my first games was streamed.

I noticed the TTV in my team and went to his stream. I was a nervous rank 20 with a laptop that barely reached 30 fps (frequently below that) and missed every skill check. The TTV started complaining, "how can someone miss a skill check in this 2017" or something. I got ashamed and decided to come back after I got better equipment. In fact, I only started playing seriously by 2019 after I purchased a more powerful machine.

Statistically survivors DC 4 times as often as killer due to there being 4 times as many survivors then there are killers in a match.

So yes it does in fact hyper-inflate KR upwards and that's with being TOO FAIR to the survivors as we all know survivors DC disproportionately more then killers do.

No the Nurse example holds up as the fact that she IS hard contributes to a low KR but not a low power which you use KR to be an example of killer's power strength.

Nurse is the prime example of why the statistics don't work for estimating a killer's power strength and PS almo has also confirmed that in the top 1% of 1% killers she only has 4/5th place KR wise even with god nurses only being counted.

And how do you back your claims that "we all know survivors DC disproportionately more then killers do." Can you produce data collected by the community or given by the devs? Personal experience?

Out of my games last weekend, I had 3 DCs: 2 killers, 1 Survivor. Maybe my sample small or maybe it was not significant, the thing is: unless we have the data our personal experiences will be biased and subjective.

"No the Nurse example holds up as the fact that she IS hard contributes to a low KR but not a low power which you use KR to be an example of killer's power strength." <== I am struggling to understand what you mean by low power. I am not discussing killer power here, I am discussing outcomes of matches using the measurements provided by the devs and adopted by the community KR.

And no, Sally is a perfect example as one measurement alone may not be enough to rate a single killer. Go back to the graph and look at the other number at her bar, her pick rate. Now compare it to the others. You'll see that despite her minimal kill rate, she was still the third most picked killer along with Blight. She is the proof that one statistic alone may not be a measurement of success, but a group of them may.

  • I do not see an issue. BT is strong but lasts 16 seconds instead of the 60 from DS that you're comparing to. BT is not meant to be anti-tunnel, it's meant to be altruistic.

If I don't want to risk being tunneled I equip DS. If I want to save someone else, I equip BT. They serve different purposes.

KR means nothing as DC/First hook suicides games are counted as even if only one survivor DCs it usually dooms the other 3(75-100% KR) hyperinflating the total KR.

There's simply put too many factors for KR to matter and it is why the devs have said repeatedly that KR MEANS NOTHING!

Edit: These satistics especially the rad rank ones means Nurse is underpowered and is the worst killer in the game.

So should she be buffed because of the red rank statistics?

The other way around is also true. If a killer DCs, the match KR drops to 0 and pulls the average down, so what's your point?

Also, one statistic alone may not be much, but when ALL KRs skew towards the killer side then something might be up. And stop pointing to anecdotal evidence. "Nurse low KR is proof that statistics fail" is the most resonated fallacy I read in these forums when this graph shows up. Sally is a killer with a steep and unforgiving learning curve but she is far from a scapegoat to your logical prejudice and even if it was, she's still above the 50% threshold.

  • It's almost guaranteed to be a protection hit if the killer injured the unhooker or anyone in the vicinities. that would render the perk useless.

  • @Dizzy1096 said:

I keep noticing people say Spirit takes no skill, Freddy takes no skill, Pyramid takes no skill etc etc and they say these killers need nerfs to become skill based.

Yet there exists within the game many things on the survivor side which take no skill whatsoever and that's apparently not a problem? take for example a map like Lerys, you can literally just hold forwards and mash space bar a few times to waste minutes of a killers time. This map isn't alone there exists a number of maps similar like meat plant or midwich for example, or areas of maps which can waste minutes of time with no skill required. Add in a few crutches like dead hard or sprint burst and the amount of skill required sinks even lower.

Is it because the people balancing the game focus too much on statistics instead of the experience? do they spend more time in excel than in the game? or is this just part of the survivor side priveledge, where the game has to be created in such a way that the majority find it fun at the expense of the minority?

    Take a look:

    image.png

On all matches where 'theoretically' the most invested killers went against the most invested survivors, the LEAST performing killer is way above the expected mean of 50% kills (the 2k outcome). Are you seriously telling that your experience is more valid than ALL red rank matches put together? Are you sure that your personal experience is really unbiased, despite EVERY SINGLE killer across the roster performing considerably better than what the community considers a draw?

Why don't you prove them wrong and show the data you collected throughout your games, pretty sure an excel sheet could be helpful.

Just as a comment on your last point, because I think the rest is more of a personal opinion and we can agree to agree/disagree.

Tbh why should we show empathy to people with bad internet connection or similar when they don't seem to show any for the ones they are playing with?

In case of dbd this has either negative impact as the killer in getting unfair hits or as survivor in giving an inherit disadvantage to your team by not being able to perform on the same level and doing so knowingly from the getgo. The latter is also true for practically all team based multiplayer (pvp) games, they know they will be a burden for their team but set their own (impaired) enjoyment before others. I wouldn't care if they did it in free for all games but playing team based game knowing that either their connection or rig can't handle it is also unfair to all other players they get involved with since they negatively influence the gameplay.

I see it similar to starting a trial while knowing that you have an appointment so that they would need to quit halfway into a match and leaving the team by themselves. In doing so they show that they don't care how they might screw over their teammates and also lower the experience for the opposing team (given they also want to play a fair and exciting game instead of been given an advantageous win). I simply can't really show empathy to such people when they don't seem to care about anyone they negatively impact by wanting something against better knowledge.

Not all aspects of the game are sensitive to latency, mostly chases in fact. As you said, a player with a poor connection can ruin the experience for 5 people, but at least as a survivor can repair gens and stealth without being impacted that much.

Also, it's easy to assume everyone is on the same ground when you start a match, that's not true at all. And equating a leave of absence to someone on the other side of the continent or another that can't afford to upgrade their ISP is really in poor taste. Should someone move to NA to improve your DBD experience? Do you think it is as easy as cancelling an appointment so that they can finish a match with you?

  • @burt0r said:

Edit: I redid this whole comment. Sorry if I was to late for you answering to the first version.

Sorry but if they want to cherry pick their opponents, don't play multiplayer pvp games especially not team based ones were they quitting will screw their whole team.

Also if they don't have the nerves or are too fragile to play under those conditions again don't even start playing those games and stick with Singleplayer.

Just like a good internet connection and a rig that can handle the game, this is a minimum requirement to play in my eyes.

Just to make clear, I am not defending the quitters. But saying that others need to toughen up, or just pay for better connection is oversimplifying the issues in this case. Git Gud™ is a meme.

DBD has a core getaway mechanic (suicide on hook) and is freaking snowbally. Player retention needs to be stimulated, that is why I now defend catch-up mechanics such as NOED and Hatch. They give the losing side hope on turning the tides of the match. Most of the killer and survivors DCs I see happen when the situation turns grim to them at the start of the match.

If you only play killer you can only experience other players' DCs when a survivor does it, but if you play survivor you see them both.

And regarding the good internet connections, have a little bit of empathy. I versed a killer a long time ago whose connection ruined the match for me and, salty as I was, I just took my leave bc I can't expect a guy in Venezuela to have a low ping in NA servers. He is the one that has to deal with that issue daily, not me.

  • Not all killers are appealing to every player on both sides. Some killer players find playing Hag boring, some survivor players find versing Spirit boring. Some people just give up bc they were found first. As much as I hate DC and suiciders no one should be forced to play a match they don't want to.

Not everyone is equipped with the emotional or psychological baggage to deal with adverse conditions and sometimes people are just having a bad day. This weekend (Saturday, I am not sure) 3 out of the 5 games I played had DCs. One survivor was having connection issues during the whole match and 2 killers.

When a killer DCs, the impact is lessened by the fact that the match stops. When a survivor DCs, all remaining players remain in the game and have to deal with it. Also, just by sheer numbers, it is 4 times more likely a survivor will DC.
