So bhvr released a 6.1.0 stat for the new changes and for survivors the top 3 perks were self care dead hard and windows of opportunity
After these perks were prove thyself sprint burnt boon CoH off the record etc
I expect prove thyself CoH and off the record top and then WoF sprint burst dead hard.
AND SELF CARE LAST
Even if you use botany or anything that increases your healing speed the self care speed is absolutely dogshit
And now that botany kills your medkit charges it's kinda useless plus that they removed efficiency from self care too
So why is it top 1?
This is because some survivors don't pay attention. I've seen more than a dozen survivors run to a corner and self care. It takes like three minutes now. Worst perk in the game. However, I'm betting anyone that is new and any returning player that hasn't paid any attention will have no clue that it changed so much. Search for best perks on YouTube and the old outdated videos are going to tell you to get self care over and over and over again.
This is a perfect example of why these stats mean absolutely nothing. They aren't giving us the full data, just the numbers that they can easily spin to prove their personal points. Stats they can use to show the money men that they did what they wanted to do, even though I believe it lost them at least 25% of their customers.

What this says is that cosmetic outfits are worth 400,000 blood, meaning we should be able to buy them with blood, and that 400,000 blood is somewhere around 20,000 iridescent shards in value and also worth 1,000 auric cells.
That means that 400,000 blood is worth about $10.
Looking forward to the new blood costs on the cosmetics!
Wow, thanks BHVR!

This is not in game, where the effect makes perfect sense to use. This is an overlay on the commentators of Into the Fog, a Twitch stream that happened this morning, where it makes absolutely no sense to use. It wasn't like oh, one time glitch. It was constant and incessant.
Again, it serves no purpose and harms your audience, please get rid of it.

Head On and Flashbang are both great perks, but you can replace Flashbang by just bringing a flashlight.
So I'd choose either Jane or Trickster.
We had a ton of fun Sunday running around with Agitation, Iron Grasp, Starstruck, and Awakened Awareness. So if you play killer and aren't into the sweaty meta builds, this can be a fun way to play. No Way Out also potentially works with a Wesker perk so if you were planning on getting and leveling him or already have, there are two possibly fun combos to play there.
Hyperfocus is great, but it is from Rebecca not Leon. Out of the three options I personally would choose to level Rebecca for this over the others, but it really depends on your play style and how good you are at skill checks. Some players can't get great skill checks at all. If you have trouble, you could bring Stake Out. The biggest problem with this perk is that lots of killers have been begging for a nerf, so once they finish selling copies of the newest expansion expect something about Hyperfocus to change. It might be that it doesn't work with toolboxes, doesn't work with Stake Out, or both. It could be as drastic as a complete overhaul to what it does.

People are generally bad overall in this game ie if your good your most likely to get bad teammates that make bad decisions in game. With that being said, these three perks make solo que tolerable when matched up with horrible players
1: Kindred
2: Spine Chill
3: Either exhaustion perk, Bond or Unbreakable
What do you guys feel is a necessary perk to do well in solo que and or survive?
Kindred is great, Bond is used mostly by bad players trying to shake off the killer (don't do this), and Spine Chill isn't as useful as Stake Out. I suggest Stake Out instead of Spine Chill. You get notified as the killer is getting closer (unless they are undetectable), and it rewards you greatly for being near them.
I also suggest bringing an exhaustion perk, but I only recommend Lithe. Lithe only triggers if you want it to. If you bring Sprint Burst you have to walk or waste it. If you bring Balanced Landing you have to position yourself and it can also easily be wasted taking a sideways drop of a single step or not aiming straight to the basement stairs. Dead Hard is also great, if you are good enough at timing it right.
For healing, never bring Self Care. It is crap now. Bring Boon:Circle of Healing or a Medkit. If you bring Inner Healing you are likely to hurt your teammates that are using boons, so I don't suggest that one but if you do use it go for the obvious totems (beacons on a hill and the one that spawns in the shack). If there is a boon in the match. DON'T run straight to it in a chase. That's just stupid. Shake off the killer or wait until after you are hooked to use the totem. Most killer mains have no clue where totems spawn because they have never had to hunt them down. If you reveal a well hidden totem you are to blame for taking healing away from your entire team.
Most of all, I would suggest a different mind set when you go into the match. Work as a team member! Most survivors that are playing solo just do stupid things that get their team killed. If you bring Deliverance and are waiting to get the first unsafe unhook instead of working on other things you are sandbagging your team. They don't know you have it and will probably waste valuable time trying to save your stupid but after you get hooked. If you bring Bond and are using it to lose the killer by shaking them off on other survivors, you are cheating - working with the killer (in my opinion) and I will leave it up to BHVR to decide whether you deserve to be banned after I report you with video evidence.

maybe I’m just unlucky but I’ve had 4 games in a row last night and now 3 in a row today where one of the survivors would grab killers attention by fast vaulting and then point and lead killer to the rest of survivors, and all of them had the streamer mode where it would be Dwight01 to hide their gamer tags, and post game noticed that they run bond, why is this a thing I’m a killer main but trying to play as a solo survivor can’t seem to catch a break
This is reportable, bannable, and you should be doing your part to report them. Get them out of our game so we don't have to deal with the cheating scum anymore.
First, you need to record your match. If on Playstation it is the share button. On PC you need to either use the XBOX bar, your video card, or something else. When this starts just start a recording. After you die go back in the match on the cheater and record them cheating for extra evidence.
Then, on the endgame screen you click the button that says, "WORKING WITH THE KILLER" on the survivor that did this. If the killer participated, don't forget to report them as well, because that is also against the rules. This should be obvious. If a survivor is standing right in front of the killer and pointing the killer should be downing them, not going where the survivor pointed.
Now save and upload your video to Youtube. You can make it private to everyone except those you share it with.
Finally, you create a ticket here: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
Get banned, cheaters!

I barely did it on Shape last night. It is very difficult. They got two pallet stuns on me and the stun felt like double. They also wiggled free with boil over twice easily if I wasn't almost directly under a hook. Luckily I had one on hook during endgame so I got a trade and that brought me to six.
I think the challenge is okay. It is a challenge after all, and more importantly you can go around it. If it were required to continue in the tome I would probably be asking for a lessening of the effects as well.
Considering the fact that most killer challenges are break a number, hook a number, and kill a number, or use a specific killer, which are mostly things you were going to do anyway, it is nice to have something that isn't the norm.
-
Top 3 Campers:
3 - Wraith - He is always at the hook because he's just that fast.
2 - Huntress - Always throws a hatchet from a jungle gym away.
1 - Cannibal - If they play Bubba, they almost always camp.
Top 3 Tunnelers:
3 - Cannibal - First he camps, then he downs everyone. It's not so much a tunnel, more like a depression.
2 - Blight - He is just fast enough to get back to the unhook trail and he chooses to follow the injured survivor.
1 - Wraith - First he camps, then he tunnels.
-
I've said it before, I believe the fix you're asking for was pre-applied. I think they added 10 seconds to gen timers in July specifically to create wiggle room for this perk.
-
Let me play devil's advocate.
I find it fun to trap you in a corner while your teammates finish all gens and leave the game.
Should I be allowed to do that? Should my fun be ignored because one person found my fun, unfun?
Fun is the balance that the devs should always be working towards. Since this is a game it is by definition made to be fun. That's it. if it is not fun for a majority, they are not doing their job properly.
-
My prediction: This perk is the reason why they added ten seconds to all gens.
-
What do you say to the people who already earned the challenge when it was greater difficulty if you lessen it? What about those players that finished the easier survivor achievements, should they be given a free pass to brag about finishing a harder challenge?
The game is a whole game, if you choose to play survivor you can get those easy survivor achievements, that doesn't mean that harder achievements should be lessened or easier achievements should be made more difficult. You can do both. There is nobody stopping you except yourself.
There is no us vs. them here. At this point they have been this way for years. This is one of those things where if you come at it from an us vs. them situation, well now you are too late to the discussion. I don't want my already completed more difficult challenges to mean less by having them over simplified, and I don't want harder challenges for adept on my survivors. Years ago when they made it obviously more difficult for killers I was one of the people asking them to change it, now I can't get behind that because I don't want anyone's hard earned achievement to be trivialized.
So, thanks, but no thanks!

Her dress is just wrong. It looks like a romper the way it sticks to her legs. It looks nothing like the games. Although I have no problem with her face or hair it isn't quite Ada's.
The trenchcoat was a cop out. I hate it. Sure she wears it sometimes but that just seems lazy to me.
Not that it matters. Since BHVR are constantly using feedback like this thread right here to 'fix' the look of characters that I purchased cosmetics on, I will never buy cosmetics again. If I buy something and they change it years after the fact because someone else complained, they are stealing from me. So I won't buy any more ever again.

Returned to playing DbD after a break and have noticed that cheating is a massive issue in the game. Have experienced some very "unlikely" situations so have started observing killer behaviour and it's obvious that a huge percentage are using some kind of player aura hack.
Killers are making beelines directly for survivors and finding them regardless of where they are hiding or what they are doing, without using any of the perks that would enable this under normal play. I've seen killers come around corners swinging at hidden survivors without any possible prior knowledge that they were there and numerous other examples that simply can't be explained any way other than some kind of aura hack. Whenever I've had my suspicions about a killer 100% they've had the "other platform" icon against their name; I play on PS4 so indicates a probable PC player.
I played about 6 hours yesterday, I would say that something like 30% of the "other platform" players were blatantly cheating - none of their perks were aura based yet they could unerringly find and catch survs without putting a foot wrong.
Given there's little desire to prevent cheats and the report options are worthless, can we at least have an option to play with "same platform players" only? At least then console players can have the intended level playing field.
You need to play some killer, because you obviously don't know that you don't need anything to be able to HEAR the survivors. Play some killer games and get a grip on the situation. It is easy to find survivors that are hiding just around a corner. You can literally hear their footsteps, their breathing, and if they are injured they are practically shouting at you to come get them. With a good set of headphones you can tell which direction to turn. Also, in case you thought otherwise, you can hear survivors that are hiding in a locker.
That's without any perks or add-ons. Now actually look at the killers. A lot of them have the ability to find survivors built into their powers. They don't need to see an aura to know where you are.
Then there are the killers with experience, that just know where you are most likely hiding, and guess right.
Then there are the killers that just flat out get lucky. It happens. If you played killer even a little bit you would have this happen to you.
I am not saying that cheaters are non-existant. What I am saying is killers have almost no reason to cheat. I have encountered and reported dozens of hackers and blatant rule breakers, but they were ALL OF THEM WERE survivors, and I main survivor. I have never been 100% sure that a killer was hacking, other than the rule breaking of teaming up with a survivor.
So, if you are still certain they are hacking, the way to deal with them is to make a Youtube account. Link it on your PS4. Watch the other survivors until the end of the match if you aren't all dead already. Click the share button at the end card of any match you are certain a hacker was hacking. Save the match time. Use the report feature in game on the end card. Upload the video (I make mine semi-private which means you and those you send the link to can view it). Search here on the forums for "Where do I report hackers?" find the link and create a report. This is where you will give your video evidence to BHVR of the hacker. Go to your video and find the share button and copy and paste that link into your report. Now you are done, and you are likely to never have any idea if all that work was worth your effort, because they will not get back to you about it.
Now that you've read all these people telling you ways survivors can be found without cheating, and the process you have to undergo to report cheaters, how certain are you that all these killers are 'hacking'?
Let me reiterate this final part. This is not the place to report cheaters. You are doing nothing but venting and getting advice here.

So you play with your Son to DbD? That feels odd somehow, did you have the "talk" with him already?
Also, I hope you teach him not to be toxic on end game chat.
:)
For the disconnects that feels unusual, I would find it strange as a cheat though. Does it happen weekly?
Lol, he is 21, and yes I taught him to be a good loser, but more importantly a good winner. Specifically, good winners don't butt dance at the exit gates or smack survivors on the hook.
It happened twice with one match in between. It didn't happen all day before, and after that I played one more match as killer and several more survivor matches. No disconnects for us in any of them besides those two.
It was just so odd that it made me wonder. I don't think it is possible without having also disconnected my son.
-
My guess is it has something to do with Wiretap and Blast Mine interaction that they didn't like. So they nerf the old to sell the new.
I use Blast Mine every time I get a stun/blind the killer challenge, but I guess not anymore.
-
Honestly, I was afraid they were going to use the inflation excuse to increase the price. So I am VERY happy with $12. I was expecting $20.
-
This has to be an interaction with Ada's perk, Wiretap, that they ddin't want to happen.
-
I think we need to go further than that and I've been saying it for years. The lobby should not exist. You should not have a choice who you randomly team/verse.
BHVR, please eliminate this unnecessary part of the game. Queue up, the next screen you will see is the offerings.
-
Every time. We record our matches and watch all the way through every game. It sucks getting tunneled out early in this situation, but matches usually don't last very long right now.
Unless your opponent is a Legion dead set on causing mending or a Doctor that only wants to drive you insane.
-
I did this yesterday on Hillbilly with no add ons (I burnt them all to get P3 from the update). I chose him because I also needed to chainsaw 3 for a daily ritual.
I got a super altruistic set of survivors that really wanted flashlight saves so they ended up helping me get this quickly. They were running in front of me and behind me trying to get in position for the save before I'd even picked up the first down.
Stridor is a really good perk. Makes me think of using it more.
-
My only tip is: Don't do this challenge. It isn't worth the effort.
If I ever accomplished this since they broke hatch I would expect nothing short of 10 million blood. It is nearly impossible and you have no control over it. Survivors rarely leave until the last second, so the hatch won't even spawn until then. Then the killer would have to find it in that small amount of time AND close it AND not kill you AND not close it right away again before you can use it. I have no clue if a key blocks the hatch being closed but if you and the killer are both at the hatch the game gives the killer the priority to close it.
So skip it. Maybe bug it in the bug forum. It is broken and nearly impossible.

Just a little rant as it winds me up to see survivors pointing at me when I’m hiding from a killer, or purposefully leading them to where I’m working on a generator for example. What is the actual reason for this? Literally don’t even play if you’re just gonna go against what the point of the game is 😂
This is called working with the killer. It is against the rules, and reportable. You need video evidence to report them properly. For future reference, since I doubt you recorded your game, you can search where to submit the video here on the forums. On console it is easy to save your current gameplay video. I believe xbox game bar can record your game on PC after the fact. My video card also can record, so look into those if you are on PC. Post the video on a Youtube channel or Twitter and give BHVR the link in your report. You should also click the correct corresponding report button next to both the survivor and the killer's names on the end screen.
If you want this and other forms of cheating, especially hacking, to stop, you need to be prepared to record video of them cheating. Just clicking the report button at the end screen is not likely to get them banned. You need to do both.
Do not post an unedited video here, that will get YOU in trouble for name shaming. If you want to post here you need to cover the players' names.
Killers, just because one of the survivors turned traitor it doesn't mean you get to cheat. Kill the cheater, and everyone else too, don't join in with their cheating. By this I am refering to the survivors with Bond that work with the killer when there are only two survivors left, then the killer gives them hatch for helping them out. That is cheating. If you like playing this game I suggest you don't do that.
-
I think I understand. It would change the tone to a comedy instead of a horror. Yes there are funny moments in DbD, but they are a relief to the oppressive horror tone that you expect to find. If they became the norm, the game would lose what makes it fun.
If Scooby Dooight ran up to start working on the generator next to me and Jokester came around the corner throwing cards at us the game would have a completely different feel to it.
They did an excellent job on the Titans for those skins though. I'm not a fan of the anime but if I were to main Oni or Spirit I would be grabbing those.
-
No. Skipping it for now.
I don't intend to support the grind. They added 30 levels of grind with their 'grind relief' to this expansion alone. They also nerfed all the best ways to farm blood, (killer queues, WGLF, BBQ, getting bloody party streamers is harder than ever) and added a toll at prestige cap.
Add to all that the recent heavy handed overnerfs and overbuffs and I am happy to keep my wallet shut until things change.
-
Every killer that is doing this is cheating the system.
How?
First, you stop yourself from getting higher MMR. This makes the next group easier to kill than you deserve. Rinse and repeat.
Second, you stop BHVR from being able to balance the game properly. They can't tell that you let the last one go. The numbers think you failed to kill the last one. BHVR proceeds with balance thinking that your killer and your build aren't capable of 4k, when in fact they are.
Finally, now you know those two facts. You are not doing it out of kindness. They aren't benefiting from your benevolence nearly as much as you are. That's greed and selfishness, not kindness. You can SAY you are doing out of kindness, but that was before, when you were ignorant that you are actually benefiting more than the survivor.
-
No. Because they don't work that way.
This is my opinion, but from my experience with this and other game devs. The testing server is a last ditch effort to make sure there isn't anything so game breaking that it would ruin them. By the time the build is on the testing server, they are ready to publish it on time. They may have more fixes that they were already working on BEFORE they put it out on the testing server, but that all depends on work they did, and nothing that the players figured out on the testing server will make changes to the update until AFTER they have already released the update.
It is my opinion that the entirety of the testing servers is an attempt to appease the players and advertise the new content. It has almost nothing to do with bug fixing and balance unless something they missed when they did their internal testing is so broken that it needs fixing right away AND the player base happens to find that.
Other players had a great idea for how it should be changed, and I agree that Reassurance should start with two tokens/uses and those tokens should be regenerated by generators (~20 seconds of powering) and safe unhooks.
-
Franklin's Demise. It is just unfair to give the opponent an ability that wastes the blood you spent. If the survivors had a similar perk that broke the killer's add-ons when they got stunned, then riots would happen.

…Killers’s queue times!
7 minutes to find a game as killer is (banned word)! Most of the time I end playing against stupid players that get wrecked like noobies despite the fact they have more than 4k hours and they hit prestige 15-20+
On the other hand, I can find pretty fast games as survivor with THREE SECONDS queues. But hey, when I don’t verse tryharders (and I expect to verse tryharders) I verse stupid killers, unable to do what they need to do. Guess they’re ex-deadhard addicted-boosted survivors.
Fix matchmaking and give me fast lobbies against either noobs or tryharders, I want my 10 seconds queues back. My blades are thirsty
Before crossplay and the new MMR there was a time when we had to wait 30 minutes for a match on PS4.
My suggestions, read a book, listen to a book, watch something on your phone or other device.

I wonder how they named this event. Did they pull it out of a hat?
I drew 'Ghost month!'
Uh, yeah, but it is only supposed to be a week...

I own all the DLC so this isn't really something I give a hoot about but the game is 100% without a doubt pay to win. Especially so with Reassurance being a 100% effective counter to camping.
The game has always been pay to win, but with the current state of the meta there are hardly any perks at all that you don't have to pay for.
inb4: shrine of secrets blah blah blah, iridescent shards, blah blah blah
New perks can take upwards of a year (if not longer) to show up in the shrine of secrets. That is de facto pay to win. Iridescent shards are fair for original killers, but if recent rumors are true we are going to be getting quite many licensed DLCs in the future. There are plenty of good perks that are on licensed killers too and having to wait upwards of a year to obtain their perks (in a game you already paid for) does not make it any less pay to win.
Couple this with the fact that the grind reduction did not reduce the grind at all (and at the same time actually made it feel worse by removing BBQ and WGLF) while I think this new chapter is great, there is still plenty more work for BHVR to do.
You are not wrong, yet in a way you are wrong.
I look at DbD as it isn't so much pay to win. It is pay to play. They have earned your money because you can play new content for years and years past and years and years to come. You aren't supporting lootboxes, which is the biggest concern with p2w, you are supporting new content for a game you enjoy playing. If you aren't supporting them with money, they also need numbers. So if you play the game you are still supporting it by being a potential bag-of-money-waiting-to-be-milked, and you are filling up those queues for all the other bags and potential bags.
So you have to ask yourself, 'Do you enjoy the game?' If you do, support it, or else you won't get to play it because it is an entirely online game that will be shut off someday.

From what the OP told us, there was no "working with the survivor". It's not against the rules to choose not to kill a survivor.
I guess you missed that part. Seems pretty clear that the other survivor was working with the killer since they say so in the statement, "The hiding survivor reported both of us for working together to find him."
Couldn't be more cut and dry. You cannot work team up with the opposition without breaking the rules. There is an enormous difference to letting someone live because you want to hunt down the other one solo, as opposed to having that person you let live start making noise notifications to alert the killer where the other survivor is.
Again, it is a non-issue if you just kill the third, because killers have like 99% advantage to EGC in this situation. There is no justification, because if you are saying they are wasting your time, it is YOU who has decided not to end the match. If you are saying they aren't playing fair, it is YOU whining about not being as good at this aspect of the game as your opponent. If you don't like this aspect of gameplay, oh well! That's like 30% of the survivors perks!
Don't cheat. There is no difference between this and flat out flying around with hacks from my point of view.
-
I say, call a cheater a cheater. Report the cheater with video evidence. Get the cheater banned for cheating.
I don't care if you don't like the fact that one survivor is better at stealth than you are at finding them. That is a part of the game. Just because you suck at that part doesn't mean you get to cheat. Working with a survivor to find that person is against the rules.
Hook the third, and try to find the hatch. The endgame collapse is heavily killer sided in this situation, you don't need to cheat.
-
GO DO GENS! Even better, UNHOOK YOUR TEAMMATES! You're worse than the suiciders with this trashy sandbagging!
This perk needs two changes. The aura of the survivor using this perk needs to be revealed to the killer, and the survivor using this perk needs to not be able to do anything except unhook other survivors or chase actions. Both until the survivor they marked gets rescued or dies.
This would still make the camper (the reason for the perk) reconsider camping, because now they have a nearby shiny target to chase. It would also eliminate all of these worthless teammates from even bringing this perk because they planned on hiding in a bush and waiting out every single first hooked survivor instead of playing the game.
-
Are you going to put together something about perk usage and success with certain perks, if that data is there?
I went back and edited my posts in a hope to stop derailing your thread. Sorry about that.

What's the most obnoxious killer perk that you hate playing with or against?
I personally find dredge's power super obnoxious. On a naturally darker map I can't see anything so I usualy end up running into a wall. Even when I play as dredge I'm not a massive fan of it but I have no idea how I'd change it without making it useless.
(Just a side note before anybody misinterpreted what I'm saying. I don't think it's overpowered by any stretch. I just find it annoying to play while it's on, even when I'm playing as killer I don't like it.)
Dredge is pretty annoying, especially on darker maps, and Plague is kinda gross, but I think they should have called the Doctor the Annoyer. That is the purpose of his power, and what's worse is that is the way 99% of the people playing Doctor play him. They aren't trying to kill you, or often even hit you, they just want to drive you insane. That is their only goal, and I hate it.

This is not correct. There are cheater programs that let you pick who you're going up against (it's something like preventing them from getting into a match with any lobby but yours), and even lists of major streamer IDs annotated with how those players react to cheaters and whether they're 'fun' targets to grief or if they'll just DC with minimal raging.
Everyone gets cheaters, but major content creators tend to get more of them for the sake of notoriety.
Wow! That is insane. The fact that this seems to be pretty common knowledge is also nuts.
Why the hell hasn't BHVR figured out how to stop this instead of spending the time to single out Fog Whisperers so they can DC with no penalty? It has to have been going on for a while in order for what Lazuli described to be a thing. DbD is so much more broken than I ever thought possible of an online game.
-
The cheaters have no control over who they were matched with, so the idea that they are 'targeting' anyone is ludicrous. Sure, they might be playing at the same time and HOPE to get into a streamer/whiisperer's match, but that is just random chance and MMR in the end.
It's not as if ONLY whisperers are getting cheaters, everyone has them now and then. Some people never even notice them. Subtle cheating makes it even harder to figure out. It's only when it is blatant that it is definite, and even I have seen blatant cheaters on many occasions. Not lately though, thankfully.
-
Congratulations! I really like the Twins idea. Good luck with the announcement!

If you have suddenly gained a conscious because you realized I am personally referring to the way YOU play, get over it. I don't care why you are doing it. Nobody does. Just keep in mind that you are benefiting yourself more than the survivor you let go. If that sits okay with your conscious to manipulate the game this way then still, nobody cares.
Please stop derailing this thread because I want to see what else can be figured out.
