Being a brown noser is different from disagreeing with people. I have stated bugs before but continuously vomiting up the same things over and over again, day in and day out does nothing for us or the devs. They're working on them. Just because I don't constantly scream at people because I disagree doesn't mean I don't have any issues with them. The bugs people are describing, I haven't had yet except for the occasional sound bug when the survivor is on the ground and they make no noise.

I'm not going to agree or yell if I haven't had the same issue. That's ludicrous. If you don't like someone's opinion, that is fine but don't insult someone. I could say a lot about people's attitudes on here but I don't. This is a place of discussion, not ridicule. If I see something that I'm about to reply or make a remark on but it seems to be very hostile, I usually won't bother with a reply.

I don't say anything with a level of reason. Everyone can have a opinion but I will always trust the eye test over a persons word. If you don't want criticism don't put your art out to the world.

At least they're fixing stuff. Just because people snap their fingers and expect stuff to magically be done, is no reason to harass the devs.

You also don't need to be a brown noser and just say everything is fine when it's not.

If what I heard is true, the way the game was initially created, is why the game becomes so buggy. They didn't originally use C+++ Coding. They used a different form that isn't meant to hold so much stuff. If this game just shut down, a lot of people would literally not know what to do with themselves. Be more patient and respectful. This game has come a long way and needs an engine update from scratch, not harassment every day on the forums on why they suck and everyone hates the game yet you see the same people the next day posting something else to complain about after they said they would stop playing.

It starts to go from creative feedback to just a barrage of insults and self-entitlement. If they don't have time to update the engine, be prepared for bugs. This isn't a triple-A game. It was a start-up game that got popular. If people can't have some patience, they shouldn't be on Social Media or Forums. It's counterproductive. No one works better when they're continuously told that they suck. Same goes for killers vs survivors mentality, it's stupid and needs to go. That's how I feel about all of this.

They use unreal engine and use a lazy form of coding. That why we don't see any bug fixes for months just like it took nine months to just fix survivors sound but DS fix took five days. They can fix things it is just not a priority.

To be honest the whole "we never intended to significantly change the way auras look" thing kind of rubs me the wrong way...

Are we supposed to believe that nobody noticed this during testing? Or, perhaps, that these features aren't tested? I find either one kind of hard to believe.

I think it comes to believing that one knows more than many. Being in a sound bubble helps block outside noise.

  • @Toastyy said:

I feel like since the new update the performance of DBD on PS4 has significantly reduced, the frames I feel are really bad especially for killer and the time it takes to pick a survivor or killer is noticeably longer. Has anyone else noticed ?

It's going on Xbox as well.

  • @Rivyn said:

I wouldn't go so far as to say they don't listen, but I will say they pick and choose. It often feels like they play a completely different game than the rest of us do. They claim Billy was 'meeting their expectations,' so they nerf him. They claimed Nurse was getting 'small tweaks,' and 'mostly numbers,' then they bury her. They claim to fix map sizes, yet the only meaningful map shrinkage was Temple of Pergation. Farm maps are still massive, Ormond is still massive, Mother's Dwelling is still massive. Sound bugs are still here. No mention of any kind of balance to SWF, even though it's somehow okay to nerf viable killers.

There has been some good. Doc rework was good. Ruin, while controversial, allowed me to work with new builds, even though I've been blitzed far more often. Tool box and medkit changes were nice. I can't say anything about Bubba's rework, it's too early.

So, some good things, more bad things. Pick and choose. The greatest flaw I have to give the devs is how agonizingly slow updates are. It's too bad they can't light a fire under their asses. I feel the game would be in a much better state if they did frequent balance passes, instead of having to wait months for anything to be done.

P3 Leatherface long ago played three games with him. I can say that he replaced Billy for sure in strength in the right hands. He is no longer build or add-on depend imo.

You aren't wrong, I will definitely be keeping my money, but I'm not so sure everyone will so I doubt they will change anytime soon.

You can't fix stupid but you can fix complacency if we stop supporting the complacent.

  • @calem said:

Honestly, this mid chapter update has been the straw that's broken my back. These developers do not listen to anything their players say, and it shows immensely in every single one of these ######### updates they are making.

Let's talk about all the ######### changes that have been made this patch:

    • NO ONE wanted Billy changes. What we wanted was ADD-ON changes. Nerf instasaw, that's all ANYONE was saying.
    • His chase music is weird and unfitting. Sure, I don't think it sounds that bad by itself, but it doesn't suit Billy. He's one of the original killers, so shouldn't he have original chase music?
    • Changes to perks that did NOT need changing. Franklin's was fine as is. Knock Out, albeit kind of weak, was still fine as it was and served its purpose. Now it only applies on BASIC attacks? You guys know this is a LEATHERFACE perk right? What's the ######### point of using it if his power can't apply it? This time would have been better spent buffing the other 60 garbage perks in this game (which takes literally 5 seconds to change and experiment with)
    • Subjective thing, but Billy's weird scream thing he does is weird. Some people like it, I personally don't.
    • Some add-ons that make me question whether the devs have actually played this game. Because I definitely want to use Mother's Helpings :)))
    • The new auras are terrible and hard to see from distance (which is kinda the whole point of them).

The only thing good to come out of this update is Bubba getting deservedly buffed. But the Silent Hill patch also made me angry about some things.

    • Midwich is a terrible, TERRIBLE map for both sides. I don't understand the design philosophy that went in to making this map. The pallets, bar 2/3, are all unsafe and not worth using, much like Hawkin's. Plus, this map is just a 'hold W simulator', unless you're playing Nurse (but nobody really does anymore). Getting up and down floors is also a huge waste of time.
    • The new legendary cosmetics that are super expensive but we can't customise for whatever reason. I'm guessing out of laziness? Nobody really cares if it looks kinda #########, the whole point of cosmetics is for us to buy them and then use them however we want, not however BHVR wants.

    And just things in general:

    • Why are we nerfing Billy but killers like Spirit still exist? It was even stated that you guys are HAPPY WITH HOW BILLY WAS PERFORMING, and then you add an overheat mechanic to his chainsaw. It makes no sense. Why don't we spend some time trying to make Spirit fun and interactive to play against? I don't know a single person except biased Spirit mains who don't want her changed or reworked.
    • Most of the maps favour survivors heavily. Except for like Hawkin's, The Game, and arguably Lery's and Midwich, I think maps are too survivor-sided. But this all depends on what killer you're playing and the skill of the survivors. But I think the extremely bad maps should be changed (looking at Ormond and Haddonfield). And this is coming from someone who plays both sides pretty equally.

Overall, I'm pissed. I don't know how else to word it. We are getting killer changes we didn't want, problematic things are staying problematic, changes to perks that were fine and didn't need changing (while all other garbage perks are left to stay garbage), terrible map design, restrictive cosmetics, really questionable add-on changes, and things that make no sense like the aura changes. Until BHVR starts listening, I don't think I can support this game any longer. They've shown they don't care what their players have to say, so why should I play their game?

BHVR had the time to give Billy chase music but not look at add-ons until three months from now. So no. Just because you play the game they care more about the money not the community. Hit them where hurts the bottom line their pockets keep your money in yours.

    • New see through x-ray auras are blurry and make my eye sight seem messed up. (I’m sure a lot of you can agree)

•As if FPS wasn’t bad enough for Xbox, it got worse and almost every match is laggy.

•You can now beat survivors on hook again if you feel like being an A-hole even though taking away hook beating was supposedly intended.

•aiming a flashlight seems off, almost seems like it’s aiming lower than what you aimed for

•can’t tell if billy is nerfed or not because his overheat mechanic doesn’t seem to exist as the cool down is super fast but his add-ons suck IMO.

These are my opinions and what I experienced from this update, if you have anymore problems that you’ve experienced please share below if you’d like.

Did see a hard drop in fps. Xbox player before ran smooth for me but updated feels super choppy.

This is one of 6 game's, back to back. Where I was just friendly in the EGC, and every time I am thrown racial slur's, told to kill myself, and given deragortory terms. Like it's 2020 who even call's people f-gt anymore?

    I already know what the two biggest responses these threads get just to dismiss this extremely big issue;

You can just close chat? Yes, but I want to have a friendly and fun experience with the game. I want to tell people "gg wp" at the end game screen, and talk about the sick plays that we all did together. A rare thing that happens.

Sounds like you need a break? Yeah. I've taken breaks, over, and over again. Then I keep taking them because I keep getting treated like this, but if this is how the other players are treating me - AM I REALLY THE ONE WHO NEEDS THE BREAK? Stop telling Killer's to take breaks, when they are not the problem. Period.

I have so far also started to make ticket reports in addition to the end game report system - in just the bare hope that something finally get's done about this blatant abuse that's been getting ignored in this game. Like it honestly just keeps getting worse as time goes on, and I am hardly seeing anything being done about it.

My two cents is to keep being you. As someone on Xbox I have to take the time to say gg to others. Some good people out here but also many salty people too. Imo like the salty ones more just to know how low some can be. Make me feel better as a person.

  • @Komodo16 said:

Decide to practice huntress one of the hardest killers because I wanna get good with her. Get wrecked but the survs were nice they let me hit them through exit. Then NEXT match I get the game and teabag and point and no lockers by my hooked guy with endgame and yeah more teabags and crap and I get a gg ez from the guy I was camping to secure a kill and what irks me the most is they werent even that good and this guy had the nerv to say I was bad and also refused to rematch me with a killer who is 4.6. Which is what I always find funny is when I play a killer im bad at I get toxicity and crap and when I say ill rematch they stop messaging.

Learned at the beginning killers are not allowed to have fun unless the survivors say it is ok to. Playing trapper a lot for about a week and holding my own making a few salty survivors but mostly getting respect for comebacks and overall play.

Had it happen the other night too. Had DH so didn't hurt too bad.

So i like to call Devour Hope the "lazy perk". All u need are 3 hooks and the game can snowball downhill real quick if not found.

2 hooks haste effect, 3 hooks exposed, 5 hooks mori

I personally hate going against a killer with Devour. It honestly feels like a cheap perk. SOMETIMES it feels like the killer doesn't have to do much.

To be clear I'm actually someone that does not hate No ed. I embrace it as a killer and a survivor, and honestly it adds another level of terror to the end of the match just like blood warden.

    I hate Devour

At least with No ed we can have all match to do bones but Devour can spring up early in match and completly destroy a team.

Whats everyone's opinion on Devour? Love it or hate it? Do u use it a lot as killer? Is it too OP? Should it be changed?

You still have to do work to get to go off. Like noed it turns up the heat fast which is a very powerful tool.

Lmao no NFL players don't care if the game is fun for the other team because they are playing a legit competitive sport.

Last I checked DbD has no competitive scene and is labeled as a "casual party game". You can play however you want but just know that you get nothing for trying your ass off. No rank rewards, no money, only a slight sense of accomplishment.

It's seems to me that you think I have a low IQ. Monopoly and Risk are casual party games that end friendships. In those games the only goal is to win no second place just first loser. With your logic no one should try just be happy to play a game. Really would like what your taking sounds awesome.

Ummm I think you’re forgetting that NFL players get paid millions of dollars to win.

People play games to have fun and enjoy themselves. Yes, this game is PvP which promotes competitive natures, but that doesn’t mean that the vast majority of people that play this game go in with an ultra competitive mentality.

I play this game for fun and can confidently say most people do too.

Are they asked to care how the other side wants the game should be played? No but in the fun for everyone argument I can't play to hard or I'm ruining the game for some else.

  • @Snowbawlzzz said:

Since Scott's new video, there have been a lot of discussions about what killers are "fun" or "unfun" to play against (fun usually just meaning "easy to bully"). I don't think the use of this metric will yield any positive changes if it's normalized and the balance team starts reading into these threads. I know I'm going to get responses along the lines of "Its not a competitive game", but the fact that it's PvP-only means that this game is, whether intentionally or not, competitive. And in a competitive setting, balance is the first priority. This game's playerbase has a lot of overlap with the fighting game community (IE Tru3ta1ent), which is about as competitive as gaming gets.

The thought of Deathslinger being changed to be more "fun" in the eyes of survivors haunts me. He's already a skill-based killer that requires movement prediction, pop-shotting and player reading to perform well with. I wouldn't put these devs above giving him a huntress-like directional terror radius to make him a straight downgrade, for the sake of "fun".

NFL players don't play for fun they play to win. Anything with two sides is a competition which in turn make it competitive. Agree with you 100%.

I was just in a game and michael was the killer , he acted like he was being friendly and trying to give us free points but in reality he was only trying to stalk all of us and then used the mori 😂 he literally was letting us go but stalking at the same time and grabbed each of us and used a mori , and soon as our last teammate found the hatch he closed it right in front of him then used his mori on him ....some killers are not to be trusted at all 😂 that is why i dont take kindness to "friendly" killers.

That is how it works, the issue is that the thing that determines what the best server is for you isn't working properly on the PTB. Thus, people are being sent all over.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1428565#Comment_1428565

I can ensure you that there's no developer out there who's keen to spend weeks (if not longer) working on something like this only to scrap it before even testing it. If we weren't planning on testing it, it would have never been announced. There's just no sense in testing it while issues are going to completely invalidate the test, and most people opt out of the PTB by the time we'd be able to fix the issue.

I maybe misunderstanding but it sounds like a coding mishap. Also thanks for taking time to engage and educate me even though I can be outlandish.

  • @Peanits said:

It is not what is causing the issue, if that's what you're wondering. The system is completely disabled through the backend on the PTB at the moment. There's a separate issues causing the wrong server to be selected, meaning that a lot of people are getting sent to a far away server with a high latency. It wouldn't make much sense to test something that limits people with weak connections when everyone is being sent to the wrong server and getting a weak connection.

If that's the case why are region not being locked to the closest server as in not getting a EU server when I live in TX? Most online games at worst can manage that.

  • @VentingSylar said:

I've been playing dbd since beta and I'll be honest. Not since Ghost Face's PTB and the flashlight save at any point in the pickup change that got reverted have I seen such a universally negative response from the entire community, both survivors and killers, on how bad the Hillbilly changes are. Which is so polarizing considering the perk changes and Leatherface changes are SO good. Its like Hillbilly and Leatherface switched places in tier lists honestly.

I'm just putting it out there. I'm 100% sure they're going to go through with the Overheat mechanic and the Add-on changes regardless of our feedback like they did with the nurse and ruin changes no offense. They've worked too hard in their eyes to throw away all those new assets.

HOWEVER, this can still be salvaged. it boils down to decreasing how quickly the Chainsaw overheats, and increasing how quickly the chainsaw cools down. The cooldown is WAY too long and the Chainsaw overheating as quickly as 9.5 seconds without add-ons is just downright sad, as it removes all of his mindgame potential at pallets. Basically leaving the only time you wanna use your chainsaw is out in the open when you got a survivor dead to rights. We want to aim for a charge rate where the chainsaw overheats around 15-20 seconds of revving. Increase the speed of the passive cooldown. Replace useless add-ons like Mother's helper with more add-ons that decrease charge time. Cause its sad that we only have one add-on to decrease charge time. I get what you're going for with lighborn inspired add-ons but you can do better.

I'd like to suggest we actually reward proper use of the chainsaw by resetting the overhead\t with a successful chainsaw down or removing a large chunk of the overheating when you successfully down someone with your chainsaw. Just spit balling here.

I don't think the devs are dumb, its a PTB for a reason. But I KNOW you can do better cause you have in the past. You made Ghostface great after he was horrible in his PTB. You made spirit great after hers, you made Oni better after his. The list goes add-on and on and on. You've shown you can come back from stuff like this so show me that you can. :3

This comes from a place of love for you guys and I hope you take this constructive criticism to heart from one of the few who's been with you since the start.

Feel bad for y'all on PC because you can speak for console players but more than likely it will fall on deaf ears. Keep up the good fight.

Appreciate the feedback. You are not the only person I have read saying this about the community moderators.

It is an issue that players aren't taken seriously and the main concerns never even spoken about.

Is there any way that you can think of that would help to bring these issues to the devs attention? OR anything that you would change about the forum and the way it works in order to make it more transparent from both sides?

I think it starts with understanding in the end BHVR need us more then we need them. The sad truth is I think with success you lose touch with others. EA with Madden is the best example I can come up with as someone who played 92 on a Sage. The best thing I can think of is to keep speaking out good or bad and maybe someone will take it to heart not as negativity but as a different input with a level of reason.

  • Learned a long time ago unless you give money nonstop game companies care very little about the people really only want your cash not you. Don't have any ill will towards anyone but @Peanits isn't nice imo. Make someone who really doesn't add anything to conversations unless they( only saying that because don't know gender identity ) can be condescending as a community manager. I didn't go to school to learn how to code. They did and choose to not test in house but make us test it because they don't want to hire people with dissenting opinions. Can't even code a 1% value to something that they code last year.

You're healing at half speed. Why? Just find a teammate to heal you! I know teammates can be a little inconsistent with how good they are, but most people know to heal an injured teammate. Or you could use Inner Strength. It's better than Self-care at least. With the MMR system in place, we'll truly see who deserves to be at high ranks, because it definitely isn't clueless Self-care users. If I see you running it, I'll have half a mind to blame you for our loss because of the amount of time you wasted. What's next? "You're telling me Open Handed isn't meta? Not even Sole Survivor?" Nope, but at least they aren't a direct detriment to the team.

Why so I have to depend upon others when they will sell me out to live anyways? Better off with and not need it then needing it and not have it. Plus easy way to get survival points.

Now though I have neither and even though I've been playing so much more than usual (at the very very least an hour every day like teh devs recommend) it still take way too long to get tiers, especially when you're out of challenges.

I really wanted to get the rift pass this time as well but I can only really justify it if I make it to the end and honestly I don't know whether I can do that now

Not so much difficult more time consuming. Even if you don't do any challenges and get a fragment a game you look at minimum 700 games. ( 70 times the 10 fragment to make one tier ).

Does anyone have information on this?

Have this problem as well. Even when something isn't busted they find some way to break it. Can't even fix sound issues.

    1. You can be toxic in post-game chat anyway, so why not remove chat instead if the goal is to cut toxicity?
    2. You can disable comments on your profile/private your profile if comments upset you

Another reason I was told was that it's 'preparing for crossplay'?

But what does that even mean? Surely they can just make it so if their steam account is connected, it opens up and if it isn't it won't open...? Or same for console, if they have a console profile (and you are playing on console), it opens up?

It's a bit sad that I made a lot of friends on this game from adding after the game but now you completely remove the ability to do so (unless they're planning on adding some type of add friend feature...)

I just don't understand why, and I couldn't find any statements about it so I don't know even know the true reason either

It is on Xbox as well as killer I like to give a gg to everyone win or lose. Hopefully it gets fix soon.

Maybe but it's not the first time they did this. Look at Susie and Joey.

I can say this ok with $10 cosmetic not a $20 one.

She doesn't even recognized as a different character AT ALL? In a killer lobby she's named as Cheryl and she doesn't have her own voice. That's for 1480 auric cells!!!! It makes sense why Alessa shares the same model and voice as Cheryl, maybe even the fact that she's recognized as Cheryl. But with the price you ask for Lisa it's unacceptable to treat her like that. You could ask more money for the Silent Hill chapter because the map looks complicated and beautiful. But it's pure audacity for you to even suggest an incomplete character with this amount of money.

It probably more on konami then the devs. There more than likely get a cut.

One of the many things I do is when I'm playing killer if everyone is playing a nice clean match and I end up hitting someone that just got unhooked (trying to down the rescuer) I will carry them to a pallet so there team can rescue them or else if they get free they can stun me for points

lose with class and just move to the next game. Oh and play without made up rules.

I've this guys posts before. 90% are your average entitled survivor opinions who think the killer should make it as easy as possible to play survivor.

I've gone back and forth with them before they use a moral argument but they don't matter if it suits them.

Dont slug for the 4k or else survivors are going to do something bannable. Dont "slug" a meta literally made for the game(if you dont believe me look at knockout) or people are gonna do something they're not supposed to. If were gonna go by that logic. Dont be 4 toolboxes or I'll bring an ebony🤷‍♀️. Dont go in a locker with decisive active or I'll mori you off first hook. Dont use loops and I won't use iridescent and infantry. Toxicity goes both ways. And if you dont think the killer should be able to play the game he wants so you can have an easier time then go play something else please. Is every post you make this toxic and entitled?

Yes they are. Most think I have no clue what I'm talking about but I know if survivors aren't have fun they cry here look for someone to care.

Slugging to 4k is lazy and cheap. The last survivor didn't lose. They just get ######### over. The entire end game of a match is already stacked against a solo survivor. If you are so petty you have to slug because, despite your increased movement speed and ability to freely traverse the map, you are that terrified of losing one survivor through the hatch, you should probably reevaluate your life and the things that bring you joy in the world. 😂

Dcing for hatch is low level play for those who have low standards in life. You show you can't handle basic out comes of a game yet you love to tell others how to go about there play for you. Look at yourself before tell someone else what they need to do.

he took a penalty to lose all of his points and give someone else an extra 7K this is likely the only game in the day he'll do it, who cares lmfao

You do something once your more likely to do when ever it suits them. Survivors tell killers how they want them to play and will dc if they feel wrong. Sorry for being someone who has some dignity to play something till the end even if it's not going well. Lol.

@kingoftheirish1992 That is just how it goes. Most survivors want you to give them the gens for free. They would like it more if would carry them to the gens.

Next patch killer can start gens mid chase. Lol.

Maybe this sounds stupid, but what is it with those wannabe Noob3´s on console? I know that this community is kinda toxic, but actually what the #########?(sorry for strong language) I wanted to ask how to convince the survivor´s to not play toxic. And for those that say "Oh well you are the problem you filthy legion main" and bla bla bla. You get the point right? I NEVER play toxic. Not even in the slightest. I play killer like a normal killer. If i get a 4K i get messaged: ######### u stupid noob using sloppy butcher.(or any other perk that is pretty good on legion) But if i have a bad game and get no kills for example: LOL NOOB KILLER BABY KILLER GET REKT LOL HAHA SO ######### GO #########!!!. So guys, any advices?

I will take any help and advice.

Thanks for reading! Have a good day! #StayHome

The way I see it playing on Xbox as a red rank killer you either play nice and lose or you play by your set of rules and enjoy the salt. Solo q as survivor purple rank I want the killers best ( disclaimer don't run DS so I die a lot ).

  • @LALYTHIA said:

You got DC'd on one time and suddenly the penalty hasn't made any difference? LOL right.

Maybe don't slug to 4k and they won't DC for hatch. 🤷

Maybe survivors should lose with class. What a concept?

  • Because people think they matter when there nobody's.

killers are not the sugar plum fairy.

Sometimes playing smart is why they remember you. Slugging can get you targeted or gen rushing. Me and a few mates played a game using only WGLF and the killer messaged us. We didn't use any items or offerings and they still complained about us gen rushing.

Also I must say.. your not king of the irish lol I'm sorry to inform you but after successfully spinning a leatherface chainsaw 3 times in a row to save someone with bt and for us both to escape I have taken your crown lol

Only way you get the title is coming and take it.
