There are other uses for insidious other than camping hooks. One is that it works pretty well to bait people out of the exit gates during egc. Walk by the gate they are in and just go around the corner and wait. People fall for it because nobody expects insidious. You can camp a totem early in the game to get a quick hook. If survivors didn't bring any items with them, camp a chest for an easy sneak attack. Just because some people use it to camp doesn't mean it should be removed. Many survivors abuse ds to harass the killer for 60 seconds, should we remove that? Plenty of other worthless perks that should be reworked before this one.
-
I don't mind insidious, there are other creative uses for it other than camping. It is also one of the few ways that you can actually scare someone.
-
I think you might be talking about tome levels, when tome level 3 opens you can keep earning rift fragments from level 2 and so on. But after tome level 4 is out for 2 to 3 weeks, it will close and a brand new tome and rift will start. The old tome will be gone.
-
What if the survivor couldn't hop on the gen they spawned closest to, kind of like a mini corrupt intervention.
-
I would like to see it deactivate after hooking someone else, otherwise it is fine.
-
I hate the ds during endgame, you know it is coming so you can either eat it and watch them tbag through the gate or let them crawl out.
-
I just think it would be weak to have her as a survivor too, that would just mean that the devs have ran out of new ideas like Hollywood has and just started rebooting old stuff.
-
How about a real wolf skin (not just a hound mask)?
-
You can always wait till the last day to buy it. Your progress will still be counted and you will be able to see exactly how far you are and what ask you will unlock if you buy it. No surprises this way.
-
I don't see why one survivor is worth any more money to developers than killers, and I have seen plenty of killers rage quit. That being said I think they do listen to survivors a little more just because they do make up the higher percentage of players. Of course a company would listen more to the 80% of its base rather than the 20%.

All the whining over cosmetics is crazy. I also hate hearing the whining about the "predatorial" battle pass that is optional and even gives you free stuff.

Was just as outraged then padre. That that has become the new norm is upsetting, but them taking away the exclusiveness retoroactively is pretty weak sauce
But you're right we've known that this was coming. If they don't have a way to monetize it they don't want any part of it.
For once they aren't trying to monetize things, they are giving them away for free.

see, now that would be nice. it's giving back to the original exclusive holders. but it doesn't seem like they care enough to do that tbh.
If they could just push a button and make that happen they probably would have just given back the "exclusive" cosmetics to those that lost them. There is a lot involved with going into individual accounts and changing things.

LMAO!!! And I am even one that has the hound mask!
-
No big deal to me, I haven't used my hound mask since i got the hallowed blight huntress last year. IDK why cosmetics are such a big deal to people and am even more surprised that soooo many people will drop $10 on them.
-
I heard that the real reason that these are going free is because of how many people recently lost theirs. Instead of trying to go back and restore those individual accounts they pushed the easy button and decided to give them free to everyone :( It sucks but it is probably the right business move.
-
This sounds like a great idea, I would just save it for a new killer perk. Insidious can be bad if just used for basement camping but there are other ways to use it. If you want to rework a perk I would vote for monstrous shrine.

You are completely ignoring the psychological manipulation that comes with this kind of monetization. Is there an option to just turn off the battle pass? No, it is shoved in your face at the end of every game. Multiple pieces of the same outfit are far apart. The rift is incredibly grindy to complete. What is the goal here? They want you to not only pay for the rift, but pay for the tiers. That is the entire objective of a battle pass.
I guess I am ignoring the psychological manipulation because I am used to it. Isn't every commercial made to try and manipulate you into buying their product?
The rift is grindy, but isn't that like the rest of the game? This actually mixes it up more in conjunction with the archives. Of course they want you to buy the rift, that is the goal of companies.
Why wouldn't they offer options to buy tiers, there are probably people that want that, so providing that is a no brainer.
BHVR is not a charity, they need to make money to keep the game alive and to grow. The fact that they find ways to do this without forcing it on anyone is great in my opinion. As long as they don't ever lock people out for not buying the bp then i am fine with it.

What is your goal here?
- Is it too support BVHR?
- To criticise them?
- To inform other players of the situation?
- To belittle players for trusting BHVR?
What is your goal?
I am supporting BHVR in this case mainly because so many people call this battle pass predatory and it is not. They made it completely optional and even have a free rift which will also show your progress on the paid rift if you choose to unlock it. The fact that they let you wait until the end to unlock it and still gives you all of your rewards is the opposite of predatory.
I also am not trying to belittle anyone, maybe just giving some life advice that you shouldn't take any company's word for anything, just do some homework and make informed decisions.

So what you're essentially saying is don't trust BHVR on surprises? Gotcha
That goes with any company, wait and make informed decisions before blindly paying for something.

That's a creative way to use it, rather than just camping a basement...
Yeah, basement camping doesn't work too often because of all the swf. The preschool is pretty good because you can hide upstairs close to the hole in the floor and ambush them before they can get up the stairs.

That doesn't justify an unfair/extremely grindy experience for those who paid then find out later the challenges start to become practically impossible.
You shouldn't have paid for the pass up front, you could have waited to see how everything worked and then paid if you thought it was worth it in the end. I am waiting to see how far I get on the rift and then I will decide if I went to spend $10.
-
I sometimes have it equipped just for the people that won't leave the exits. Works pretty well, you walk by the gates where they are tbagging and hide around the corner. Once the terror radius is gone they come back out then bubba gets to have some fun.

Well if there is an incentive to shorten matchmaking time they probably will. But right now, it seems, they are more motivated to explore additional revenue streams.
Unfortunately there is no incentive for the developers to implement something like this.

They're mandatory if you want a chance at completing the Rift.
Rift is optional too
-
It sounds good but do we really need developers to waste time programming code for that to happen when they could be working on ways to fix the real problem and just speed up matchmaking?
-
I don't mind it, definitely not op so why nerf it? Makes for a different gameplay style which is refreshing every now and then. Also if tome level 4 ends up having sacrifice 4 survivors in the basement then you better believe basement bubba will be making a comeback!
-
No. Just try switching sides if one takes to long. Usually works for me.

Well sure. Give us challenges where we are not be forced to play bad.
I also don't like the challenges that force you to play bad, but that is only the case for a few of them. Like the dropping 15 pallets in a chase, that is bad if someone is trying to blow through the challenge, but it can be done through normal gameplay. I haven't seen all of the new challenges yet, but in level one searching 3 chests in a match was pretty pointless.
-
This is what happens when everyone blows through the first level in a weekend and then complained that they had nothing to do. Now they made level 2 so you actually have to work for it and people complain about that. Is this community ever happy about anything???
-
Happened one time to me, just a crazy fluke I guess. I also have had one where I left thru the exit gate and was able to run around out there. Eventually ended up dying because the timer ran out. There are tons of videos of weird stuff that happens in this game, ochido puts together some funny clips of these.

Keep quiet and don't ruin it for the rest of us!

past last week i have played like 5-10 games per day and in every game killer made over 25k+ by just hooking every survivor one time and last one twice. I have played killer lot less then as a survivor and i make 30k almost every time. I dont really understand how you dont get over 20k BP as a killer. *confuced*
He was talking about a camper, they usually don't get over 20k. There are penalties in place for camping, but it still can't stop it.

Facecamper is a killer that just stands in 5-10 meters away from the hook and waits someone to rescue him/her. When that happens killer knocks same survivor down yet again and hooks him. I have been playing this game for some time now and its getting more and more common. Even killers rank 1-5 does that really often nowadays.
I know what you mean by face camping, I am just saying that it would be hard to introduce a mechanic that can tell if someone is face camping. It would most likely be if you are in a certain range of the hook, but if bad survivors are rescuing before you can leave that range then why should the killer be penalized? Or if you are chasing someone that runs right to the hook with you following, are you just supposed to let them have a free unhook because you don't want a penalty for camping?
-
@heri86 said:
As a killer its way too easy to make 25-30k bloodpoints per game but as a survivor you need to work your ass off to make such amount of bloodpoints. If the killer facecamps or tunnels, killer makes easy 25k+ everytime.
What i like to change is killers score mechanics. If killer hooks same survivor second time in a row. killer wont get as much points nor any.
i dont have any good idea how to negate facecamping killer but if the killer is not leaving the hook in x seconds killer is not able to hit any survivor for some time. yeah its sounds bad but those killers are ruining the game experience so badly. After that its impossible to get any of your friends back in the game!
These are just my thoughts how to counter these killers but im sure there is lot of ways to work around it.
A killer that face camps or tunnels will not get an easy 25k bloodpoints but I do agree that bloodpoints are much harder to get as a survivor. I am all for boosting their points but don't start finding ways to negate killer points. A lot of times i dont get very far from the hook and someone is dive bombing it for the rescue. Does that mean I was camping??
-
Would love to somehow make swf only be able to have voice com when within 5-10 meters of each other.

I think people would still take "sacrifice 5 survivors in the basement in a single match" quite literally. We are talking about people who call a pass that lets you see how far you progress before deciding to purchase it "predatory."
Someone that actually understands the word predatory??? You should probably keep quiet, they might kick you out of this forum ;)
-
As a survivor, I don't t bag other than a quick double tap as a way of saying thank you if they let me live. If the killer is close I will stop at the edge of the gate to let the killer get another hit in for more points.
As a killer I try not to tunnel, but sometimes you just end up finding that same survivor without trying so down they go. Anytime I have the choice, I will always go for the rescuer rather than the person that was just unhooked. Only time I camp is when all gens are done, i am always amazed when I get an extra kill or two because survivors refuse to leave someone behind.
-
-
I just like the fact that you can wait until the end of the rift to decide. See what your progress gets you and then decide whether or not it is worth $10. I will probably get it if I end up getting $7 or $8 worth of auric cells back (which will most likely go towards the next rift). I don't think $2 or $3 every chapter is too bad.

I wish there was some way of making them only usable on those that deserve them. The obsession, keyholders, SWFs or Neas.
I've genuinely felt bad when I've taken an Ebony into a game only to find they are all solos. I still killed them. But I felt bad about it.
As long as you felt bad about it. . LOL!!

I like the idea of the mori replacing the death hook. Meaning the mori only works after two hooks so you're not removed from the match so early.
That kind of makes it pointless tbh. I think that the problem is that they are not very rare. Just make them much less common in the blood webs and then you shouldn't see so many of them.

@MissGamer456 said:
I had a day were I got 4 Ebony Mori in a row by different killers and from each game I was the first one hooked and as soon as I got unhook I instantly got moried. I literally had a mental breakdown as I could not play a single game and earn BPs. I don’t care if I see a killer bring a secret offer I’m closing application and this is fair as the game has not started yet. I refuse to be moried instantly off hook.
Just a game, definitely not worth stressing over this much.
-
Same here, I have also noticed that my matches typically pair better survivors with weaker killers. I play both sides at around rank 10 and when I play killer I get rank 4 to 6 survivors but when I am survivor I get rank 14 to 16 killers.
-
No one should buy the premium rift pass until you know you have what you want unlocked. Just play like normal, wait until the last day and see how far you got. Then decide if it is worth your money. I doubt I will make it close to level 70, but if I can get far enough to get 70% to 80% of the auric cells back then I will probably get it. No need to make this game into more of a grind than it already is, especially since it is just for cosmetics.
-
That's what i was thinking, thanks for confirming.

That's a very narrow and incorrect view of the situation
They want to keep the average kill rate at about 2, that would keep it pretty balanced. I am not saying that it is perfect by any means, but it is way closer than what the survivor mains or killer mains say.
